An urban industrial loft space in Battle Creek
Record Box Loft is a wedding venue located on the riverfront in downtown Battle Creek. Our original hardwood floors, exposed brick and open floorpan flooded with natural light gives our space an urban, industrial vibe that’s perfect for a party for up to 250 guests. After a complete restoration of this historic building, built in 1902, we rebranded as Record Box Loft to pay homage to its roots. Once known as the Record Printing and Box Company, cereal boxes were printed here for many years in the cereal capital of the world. Many onsite amenities are provided including onsite preparation rooms, tables, industrial chairs, and an onsite catering kitchen and bar area for vendor's use. From the team behind The Cheney Place, Leona Road, PUNCH Bar Catering and Fringe Events, we have deep experience in West Michigan’s wedding industry. We are proud to also include the the following services for our wedding clients: 1) Design: We will meet with you to develop a custom floor plan for your event and would also be happy to schedule a meeting to assist with linen and tablescape options, 2) Event Setup: Setup tables and chairs and assist with placing and hanging your personal decor, 3) Tear it Down: When your party is over, our staff will assist with taking down and packaging all decor, 4) Month and Day of Coordination: We’ll help plan your full timeline and coordinate the details with your vendors the week of your event. Our team will manage your event including ceremony, entrance, toasts and sendoff and will work closely with your vendors to ensure everything runs smoothly. We are located in southwest Michigan, approximately halfway between Chicago and Detroit and conveniently close to our surrounding communities including Kalamazoo, Jackson, Lansing and Grand Rapids. The staff was amazing! They went above and beyond. When they found out my photographer canceled last minute they jumped into action to see if they could find someone. Then when my \"flower dude\" wasn't able to come they offered to see if one of their staff or vendors would fill in. They made everything perfect! I will remember thar night forever. The venue is beautiful, the staff is wonderful. I highly recommend!!!

The second my (now husband) and I seen RBL we knew this was where we would seal our forever promises to one another. We didn’t even look further for any other venue once we did our virtual meeting/walk through. From start to finish, working with these wonderful ladies made my life as the bride planning everything a BREEZE. I truly so appreciate them. In regards to the venue itself, how could you not fall in love with it?! My guests still compliment us and we’re almost three months after our wedding now, with many of them saying this one be hard to top! Record Box Loft was such a beautiful, well taken care of space to hold our ceremony & reception! With super customizable floor plans, lots of space for guests to mingle, and even some simple decor included, it was a great space to host our wedding.Throughout the planning process, our contacts at RBL, Brooke & Hannah, were incredibly detailed, helpful, and kind. I sent so many one-off emails with random questions and they always gave detailed answers of suggestions & options/what to expect. Honestly only downside is venue opens at noon so as a bride you cannot get hair and make up done there unless you have multiple hair and make up girls. But overall it’s gorgeous venue and all our guest loved it.

Hands down the best venue I could’ve asked for! I originally picked the space because of its looks but I would pick the staff any day! They are so great. They’re so nice and truly care about making your day perfect. I was lucky enough to work with Brooke and Ruby. They had answers to all my questions throughout the whole process. I didn’t meet Ruby until the day of but I’m so glad I did! She was literally running to get me anything I needed and I can’t say enough good things about Brooke! She was so helpful. I truly had the best experience.

We could not have been happier with our choice to host our wedding at Record Box Loft! The venue itself is gorgeous and we loved the vibe the second we walked in for our tour. The staff is amazing and was very organized and communicative through the entire wedding planning process, regularly checking in and providing recommended \"to dos\" for each step of planning. Brooke was SO organized and helpful through the final stages of planning and our wedding rehearsal. Record Box Loft. When we walked into the venue we fell in love with the rustic look mixed with the industrial feel. From the black wire railings and stairs, to the 200 yr old brick. Little did we know the staff and the way they carried themselves was our favorite part. The staff was exceptional. They treated us like royalty, and made our stressful day easy. We were super impressed with the way they had everything under control with always having our opinion at the top of the list. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone that expects professionalism but also needs the support of a great staff that actually cares.

My husband and I were married here on 3.17.23 and I could not have asked for smoother, happier, more amazing day - and while I could probably say it's because it was meant to be, really so much of the credit goes to Hannah, Record Box's manager. Hands down she made the entire process such an amazing experience for us, from when we first reached out in July 2022 to the day of. She made us feel special and listened to, she genuinely seemed to enjoy her role, and pulled off some amazing details we hadn't even thought about. We loved the venue itself for it's look and beauty without over decoration, and still managed to bring quite a bit of mish-mashed decorations that Hannah turned into thoughtful scenes and layouts that seemed like it had always been meant to look like that. Her and the whole team were fabulous about being there to assist and decorate (and hype up my husband and I), and then pack everything away so speedily (and carefully given we have delicate glass centerpiece to take home) that I'm beyond impressed. At one point we accidently created a receiving line at the top of the third floor, and Hannah very discreetly asked my husband if we needed a rescue to start our reception. The whole day was like a dream and I HIGHLY recommend anyone planning a wedding or event. Thank you Hannah and Record Box Loft!

Everything I could have hoped for and more! I fell in love with the Record Box Loft in December 2019, as they were first opening and accepting reservations. I loved the building and the story behind the couple who made it their mission to renovate it and bring it back to life. We signed our contract in January of 2020 for a wedding in May of 2021. Obviously, COVID happened and in January 2021 we made the decision to push our wedding to 2022. They were so understanding during the process and were actually holding all available dates for 2022 in case 2021 couples needed to reschedule, which I feel says a lot about their character and commitment to their customers. We were able to reschedule to May of 2022 and despite all of the chaos of COVID, the Record Box was flexible and kept a stressed bride calm when things were falling apart. Then, life happened again and despite a change in ownership, the Record Box again made it a seamless transition. They did a great job making sure that everything we had originally planned would still be able to happen. The new-to-us management introduced themselves and set up a time to meet with us to go over our plans and contract, and were very accommodating. Our actual wedding was perfect. We got so many compliments on the venue and with the natural beauty of the space, we didn't have to spend much on decorations. Our first dance took place during \"golden hour\" and our pictures turned out amazing. Everything was well worth the wait. I am SO happy with our experience from start to finish, and I am absolutely recommending this venue to all of my friends for their future weddings.

The Record Box was wonderful! The day of my huband and my's wedding went so smoothly because of the staff coordinating all the pieces together. And I love how I could use the facility as the main decor and figure out accent pieces throughout. My guests were also impressed...Battle Creek doesn't seem like the best place for a wedding, but this venue is a diamond in the rough! The spruced up downtown and river walk are such a fun aspect. Would recommend this for any bride looking for a stress free wedding day!

And I love how I could use the facility as the main decor and figure out accent pieces throughout. Hannah and Abbey but us at ease when we began making the final plans for our wedding. Our wedding day went smoothly thanks to the RBL team. We received so many compliments on this beautiful venue. Could not have asked for a better venue or team to work with! Very organized, respectful and helpful staff. So many guests actually complimented us on picking such a beautiful venue with a great team! We chose to have our wedding in February and it was perfect. There were places for people to hang coats, staff present at different doors to help with those needing to use the elevator and the river nearby provided a fantastic backdrop for some chilly outdoor pictures. The day of, we had family members drop off decorations with a PDF explaining how we wanted things and the team did the rest! It was such a relief arriving later to find everything set up just how we wanted it. Definitely recommending this venue to anyone and everyone!

So many guests actually complimented us on picking such a beautiful venue with a great team! We chose to have our wedding in February and it was perfect. There were places for people to hang coats, staff present at different doors to help with those needing to use the elevator and the river nearby provided a fantastic backdrop for some chilly outdoor pictures. The day of, we had family members drop off decorations with a PDF explaining how we wanted things and the team did the rest! It was such a relief arriving later to find everything set up just how we wanted it. Definitely recommending this venue to anyone and everyone!

Record Box Loft was the PERFECT venue! They were extremely responsive and helpful every step of the way, and ensured that we had the best day possible. We had our ceremony and reception in the third floor loft space with a cocktail hour in between for transition. Our guest count was ~150, and everyone fit very comfortably. PROS:-The space doesn't need much decor - it is classic and elegant and speaks for itself. -The loft has windows all around the perimeter, allowing for lots of natural light which is very helpful in photos. -Booking the venue comes with day-of coordination service, which was very helpful. The day-of coordinators took care of the logistics of the day, all the way from our arrival/ceremony/reception time to communicating timing with the caterers, bartenders, and photographer.-Can bring own bartender and alcohol - saves lots of money.-Can bring own caterer - also saves lots of money. -Chairs/tables included (unless you do an outside ceremony, then chairs have to be rented).-Bridal suite and grooms suite are both very pretty and photograph well - this wasn't the case for most venues we toured!-Lots of beautiful outdoor space/scenery for photos.CONS:-Location. Battle Creek isn't the most ideal location, though it has potential. Stick with the hotels recommended by the venue - there are definitely some rougher ones in the area that our guests booked unknowingly. They ended up switching to different hotels because they felt unsafe. Overall, I highly recommend Record Box for their exceptional service, beautiful venue, and fairness of price.

I chose this venue for my wedding and I am so thrilled I did. The vibe is very industrial and they did a beautiful job at restoring the old building into the venue space. I loved having the 2 floors so we could have some separation between cocktail hour and the reception/ceremony space. They were so helpful in giving recommendations for vendors to bring in. I am not from the Battle Creek area so that was very nice. On the day of the wedding they took care of everything and helped the day run smoothly.

Caitlynn was kind, responsive and easy to work with, especially handling the pandemic restrictions and our unique situation. It’s evident that they put a lot of thought into making it a great place to host gatherings; the bar and kitchen had everything needed for out vendors to provide their services, there were well decorated prep rooms for the bridal party, a gathering area to get away downstairs, and nice bathrooms for guests (LOL).
