Reflections Venue & Gardens Reviews
Lisa Henson(other)1 out of 5 Rating
I started working with this specific venue about a year ago in November 2022 for my 9/23/23 wedding. I was originally booked at one of their sister locations in Dallas called Vouv. Everything was going well with the staff as long as I continued to shell out thousands of dollars for their package of Open Bar (they told me they don't offer a Cash Bar), appetizers, dinner (plated or buffet) and anything else that went with this approximate $15,000 tab. We had a copious number of meetings to discuss every single detail of this wedding but somehow, they conveniently left out that my wedding was the same day as the Plano Balloon Festival right across the street for the last 42 YEARS. They told me one month before the wedding and according to their attorney Justin Dertinger, they didn't have to tell me when they did. The streets were shut down and there was no way to get to the venue after a certain time. I spoke to two different police officers that confirmed this.So the first thing I would caution the consumer whether you are planning a wedding, Bat Mitzvah, baby shower, birthday party, Quinceanera, Anniversary, etc. is to find out if there is anything that is going to directly affect your guests and vendors from getting to the venue. BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT GOING TO DISCLOSE THIS UNTIL IT IS TOO LATE. Find out about their Wi-Fi capability because their attorney told me \"The vendors usually have a Hot Spot\". Find out if their HVAC system is working properly in 100 degree weather in the summer and freezing temps in the winter. My wedding was SEVERELY impacted by this event that drew a record crowd of over 80,000 people to this festival. There were several people criminally trespassing in the lot, parking in a private, restricted area, taking pictures with my rented Rolls Royce, etc. HORRIBLE!!!! And you'll love this. All the money I paid for appetizers; I did not get to have any. Why? Because the staff and security allowed the guests to bombard the waitstaff and take them from the wedding party. It was a complete shit show. Their response: \"You seemed so happy on that day. I thought everything was going well.\"There is a difference between being happy because you are marrying the love of your life and being pissed after the event because you find out that protocol was not followed. When I see these reviews, I am shocked and saddened because I wasn't even given the courtesy to make an informed decision about the date and location of my wedding thanks to the deception and apathy of the staff. To keep telling me \"Talk to our attorney\" AFTER the fact that you intentionally neglected to tell me a critical piece of information is disgusting. I actually OVERPAID for this event based on a previous headcount and I STILL have not seen a dime of the money that is due back to me. Their response: \"Talk to our attorney.\"How you handle conflict resolution is so important and I can tell you this situation was handled deplorably and extremely sloppy. They had repeated contract violation after contract violation (no AC in the groom's suite, no fans either, poor Wi-Fi for vendors' electronic equipment, security breaches, parking breaches, etc) and they tell their attorney to tell me \"You're not entitled to any type of refund. We don't owe it to our customers to let them know if an event will be happening the same day as your event.\" For the money I spent at this event, I could have gone somewhere much more eloquent, updated and sophisticated. Insist that they provide you with 2 staff members during the day of your event. ONE will never be enough, even if you have a guest count of 20. Reviewed on 20-10-2023

Jessica Landin(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-12-2021 I just had my wedding December 3rd at reflections and It was the BEST time!! The venue is SO beautiful itself, you really don’t need much to make it nicer than it already is which is a major plus!! We hired a day of coordinator from the venue named Channing and she was on top of everything that day. I had no worries throughout the whole day since I had left her a detailed note prior of how I wanted everything and she did EXACTLY what I wanted! It really is a MUST to have a day of coordinator so you don’t have to worry about anything the day of. My only complaint and reason for 1 less star is because of the ants that were found in our bridal suite when I arrived and then outside when we had our sparkler send off, there were so many ants that a lot of my guests got bit up! Other than that, everything went so well! Reviewed on 08-12-2021

Having the venue, caterer, and bar all in one was so convenient and really cut down on the stress that comes alone with coordinating so many moving pieces by yourself. What's more, is they have a recommended vendors list of places they work with regularly. Our photographer, officiant, and DJ were all off that list and they were phenomenal as well. Special thanks to Alyssa Mitchusson who works for Reflections and was our wedding coordinator on the day of . The venue was beautifully decorated, the pricing was reasonable, the staff was excellent, & we’d definitely rate the food a 5 star! The venue included chandeliers, pristine white tablecloths w/white fabric, bow tied chairs, large open, ivy draped, windows displaying a courtyard in the back w/ponds, waterfalls, lots of greenery and a walkway leading to a stone gazebo, perfect for pictures. They, free of charge, included extra 3-tiered trays & tables to help w/my daughter’s treats she brought from home for the wedding guests. We first met Rizabell, who answered & explained all our questions. She was friendly, professional & available for our numerous calls & questions, as the wedding date drew closer. While we were touring the venue, Chef Jon introduced himself. I told him my husband wanted food that was top-notch & he assured me I had nothing to worry about. My daughter, son-in-law, & husband attended the taste testing & they had nothing but rave reviews concerning everything they tasted. Easy to tell, all food is made from scratch. When the event began, I was greeted by the coordinator, Laura. A coordinator is part of Reflections’ package price, which was a definite plus. Laura told me she was there to make the reception run smoothly, which she handled seamlessly. The wait staff was also kind & helpful with any requests made.Right before the event, the cakes arrived, but the flowers & fruit, we were to bring were late, & the cakes were not decorated. Chef Jon to the rescue. He later told me he used to be a pastry chef, &, indeed, the cake decorations-flowers on one, fruit on the other-were flawlessly finished. We also, at the last minute, asked for a special food plan for one of our guests, & Chef Jon hand-delivered the food to make sure all was as needed. Not only was the venue quite beautiful, plenty of room, but intimate. The whole staff went way beyond the norm to insure the night was a huge success.I would highly recommend Reflections on Spring Creek to all for weddings, as well as any other special occasions. I also was very happy that this was an all inclusive location for the wedding and reception as we had a large group of family and friends traveling in so the thought of making sure they got from one location to the other without losing anyone on these North Texas freeways was something I was happy to avoid. The venue is very pretty in itself so very little needs to be done to make it special, however, once you add your personal touches it is even more lovely. My family and friends were constantly commenting on the chandeliers, the facility and outdoors area. Brittany Jackson(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-10-2015 UPDATE :\rPenny, \rI had been emailing back and forth with a gentleman about interest in coming to your venue and we set a date for October 4th, 2014. On that day, myself and my now wife, walked into your establishment and were only there for about 5 minutes. At first Michael Story was very nice, but that all changed after he asked me if my wife was my MOH. I said \"No remember from the emails? There are 2 brides.\" and then smiled. His reaction was something I will never forget, with his head down and shaking no, he said, \" We're all Christians here and I wish you the best of luck but unfortunately... we can't help you here.\" I was shocked as this was nothing we had experienced yet. From that point on, we felt it necessary to ask every vendor is they had anything against same-sex marriage. Many apologized for having to even ask that question because of how we were treated at Reflections on Spring Creek. \r\rWe did speak with Michael and did come visit and we were turned away for being a gay couple. I do not want another couple feeling this ignorance, hate, and hurt on what is supposed to be a happy day. \r\rThis is not an LGBT Group, but rather a couple that wants to give a warning to other couples that are either supportive or part of the LGBT community. \r\rIf you are somehow unaware what is going on at your venue with the other owner/husband, you may want to do something about it now. As a member of HRC, I was told I should file a complaint, but I let this go so that it would not ruin the memories of our special day. Others may not be so generous. If you would like to set up a meeting to confirm this experience, I would be more than happy to do so. \r\rBest regards, \rBritt\r\rI actually did not have my wedding here and I am extremely grateful for that. I had been speaking with them via email about our wedding. I was very transparent in the fact that it was a same sex marriage. Mentioned same sex, commitment ceremony (at the time, it was not yet legal and had our own officiant), both names, that it was my partner, and so on. It was not only embarrassing but hateful to walk into our appointment and within 60 seconds get told \"We are all Christians here, so unfortunately....\ Reviewed on 11-01-2016

Carey O'Hara(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-09-2015 First, to preface this I want to say the Chef- Fritz- deserves way better than 2 stars. He was the best part of this venue, working with me to create the perfect menu right within my price range, and on the day of he produced a wonderful meal. So, thank you Fritz.\rOther than that, many mistakes were made on the day of my wedding. The venue assigned me a coordinator who didn't seem to know what she was doing.\rIn the planning stage, I emphasized that moscato was my favorite wine and was promised it at my wedding (as part of the bar package I paid for). On the day of my wedding, when I requested moscato there was none- they said they only had rose. The manager of the venue also promised a bridal punch in their bridal punch bowl. That too was missing on my wedding day.\rI also sent friends and family members over to the venue to setup at 2 because I was told the tables and everything would be set up and ready to be decorated by 2:45PM. At 5 the venue setup was still not complete. My coordinator lied to my mom, saying my friends and family had not shown up in time.\rWhen it was time to leave the wedding, the coordinator forgot to inform my photographer, videographer and DJ. They were all setup in the backyard for my last dance, while I was walking out the front and all the guests had their sparklers lit. When my vendors found out they had to hastily setup in the front, and my husband and I had to do the exit walk again so it could be recorded, but I ended up getting mostly burnt out sparklers in the photos and no exit song.\rMy coordinator also said she would setup or hand out my going away gifts for the guests, but she forgot, and now we are stuck with 100 personalized cups.\rThis venue will tell you 4 hours is plenty of time to enjoy your wedding, but it is not. The time is a blur, and you definitely need more than 4 hours to enjoy the results of all your planning! Your wedding should be as perfect as possible, and the venue you're paying should not be the one making mistakes and making you feel rushed. Reviewed on 12-12-2015

Dawn Milleman(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-10-2015 My Groom and I had our October wedding at Reflections on Spring Creek. The venue was beautifully decorated, and the food was delicious! However, we experienced some stressful issues, as follows: \r\rFor the bar package, we paid $1000, and chose well liquor (still brand names), beer, and wine. The venue was to use our credit of $1000, until it ran out, and then it turned into a cash bar (which doesn't literally mean pay with cash, as cards are accepted). After our ceremony, we were told our money was almost gone, and it had only been one hour, since guests started arriving. We were shocked! We were going to add more money, but were told the credit card machine was down and wasn't working, which meant our guests would have to pay cash for their own drinks. Who carries cash these days? The groom and I counted our cash and we had $12 on us. This was a HUGE inconvenience for everyone. Fortunately, we took our own bottle of champagne. Also, one of our fathers paid a chunk of cash to keep the bar going for a while longer.\r\rThe next day, my friend, who went to the food tasting with me, told me that she ordered a vodka cranberry, and the bartender poured Grey Goose, which was not a part of our package choice. My friend said she mentioned to the bartender that they should not be pouring top shelf on the Bride and Groom's tab, and the bartender replied, \"I hardly think you know what their package choice is.\" My friend responded that she absolutely knew, as I (the Bride) had told her. We believe this contributed to our bar money running out so quickly.\r\rThen, we had to change around the order of events at our reception because I was told people were leaving, so we cut the cake before the first dance, then threw the bouquet, etc., and I felt very rushed. I found out people were only leaving to get cash for the bar and were going to return. Again, a huge inconvenience. Our DJ and singer were great at rolling with all the changes, which was good!\r\rWhen I went to get a piece of my wedding cake, the wedding planner had already given out quite a bit of the cake, and I noticed she never separated the top and bottom layers. Therefore, most guests never got a choice of flavors, and only got the top. I've been to many weddings, and the layers should be separated before cutting pieces for the guests. (I take a little responsibility because I forgot to tell her the top and bottom layers were different flavors).\r\rWhen it was time for our send-off, I felt we were being rushed out the door. I had gathered everything in the Bride's room to quickly get it on our way out, and I only needed one or two minutes, but the planner was rushing us and it stressed us out.\r\rLastly, we paid a $300 refundable damage deposit. I absolutely expected the entire amount be returned to us. Especially with all of the inconveniences caused to us with the bar issues. When we received our damage deposit, they took out $12 for two broken glasses. $6 bucks for a glass? I was pretty upset, and feel like we've been nickeled and dimed.\r\rOn a positive note, prior to the day of the event, we had no problems. The Chef did a fantastic job, the food was awesome, and the wedding planner was helpful and nice. This really is a beautiful venue, and all things considered, I'm happy with our event.\r Reviewed on 20-11-2015

Amanda Fujarski(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-03-2015 We were so pleased that we chose to host our wedding reception at Reflections! The ballroom is gorgeous and they are fairly flexible in letting you adjust decorations/furniture. We had about 140 guests at our wedding and had 14 or 15 tables. They were flexible with seating- since we had space for extra tables, we sat anywhere from 4 to 9 people at a table, just depending on the various relationships between guests. They set the tables in advance and got all the crazy numbers correct! If we had added and extra 3-4 tables, it would have filled the room (Just FYI). Chef Fritz prepared an excellent meal and was very accommodating of special diets! He prepared a few gluten free dishes, pescatarian meals, and another unusual meal for a friend who is allergic to what seems like everything. He did all this at no extra charge. We were SO impressed with that! During the planning we were a bit nervous- Fritz seemed to listen to everything we were saying but wrote down very little; he made some promises but declined to put them in writing. Needless to say, my mom & I were very anxious when we went to finalize the menu, but Fritz honored all previously agreed upon negotiations and requests! No problems at all! The day of the wedding we had a day of coordinator go to help set up/decorate, so not sure how decorating would have gone if it had been left up to reflections staff. We were assigned a coordinator from reflections, and I spoke with her/her assistant once or twice. I didn't feel the need to make a lot of contact since I had the DOC. Anyway, the evening of the wedding everything was beautiful and the food tasted great! A couple negatives were that the coordinator greeted my husband and I when we arrived and handed us keys to the bride/groom room, but failed to inform either the DJ or DOC that we had arrived. Thus we ended up waiting almost 30 mins to be introduced til we finally sent a groomsman to find out why we hadn't been lined up yet. No one but the reflections coordinator knew we were there and she didn't bother to line us up either. Just a little bummed about wasted time, but not the end of the world. My husband was a bit upset that the lights were on throughout almost our entire reception and we didn't know why. We had paid for uplighting, so obviously we wanted the lights turned down! My husband and I were visiting with guests for most of the time, so maybe they thought we needed light for that? But we felt like it kind of hindered the party atmosphere and discouraged some people from dancing. Again though, not the end of the world. The coordinator was a bit hard-nosed with my mom about leaving a few flower vases overnight, though they said it would be fine to leave our boxes of personal decorations. Not sure what the issue was there, but a minor inconvenience. If you book here, you might also consider asking them to set up tables a considerable distance back from the dance floor- its quite small! We set back the tables a tiny bit, but not enough. The limited space also seemed to discourage some from dancing. These were the only issues we had, and as you can tell they are pretty minor!! Overall, we all felt like Reflections offered an excellent value compared with the other venues we visited and a classic, beautiful space. Very happy we were able to host out reception here! RACHEL MURPHY(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-09-2013 What can I say really about Reflections On SpringCreek and the Staff! Best ever!\r\rFirst I will say it was such a blessing to find Reflections. Once we set the date for our wedding, without thinking of other options I had set my eyes on a Wedding Venue at the Marriott in Allen, TX. However, when I got there for the tour, the Sales Manager was the most unfriendly, uninviting Sales person I ever saw. I decided if I was going to work with someone for 3 months for my wedding I had better find a Venue where at least we had 'chemistry' or they show that they want me there.\rOnce I looked on the Knot actually I found: Reflections On SpringCreek.\r\rWhen I made the first call, they were very inviting and setup appt to view the venue. When I got there Fritz - The Executive Chef was very Calm, inviting and showed me all the different beautiful features they have here. Because I had also wanted to have the Ceremony at the Wedding Venue, I will NEVER FORGET THAT WHEN THEY OPENED THE CHAPEL, I WAS SO TOUCHED BY THE BEAUTY, SERENITY of the whole place tears literally flowed down my eyes. I knew right away this WAS IT!!!\r\rThrough out the 3 months, I worked with and had to go to the venue couple of times to look and relook at different things to make decisions about decorations, and other things.\r\rFirst off let me say this: The Venue has been setup that one almost doesn't have to event add anything. Everything is there: Beautiful Chair-covers, table-covers/clothes, Center pieces, silver, plates....I mean literally one wouldn't have to hire anything out.\r\rI worked very well with everyone here their COO - DorisAnn and Executive Chef - Fritz who always also gave me great ideas of what to do. Several times I met the owners: Penny and Mike and those I could tell they preferred to be in the background, they played a BIG role (behind the scenes) in making sure this venue was the best!\r\rWe were lucky enough that there were small items we wanted to hire out (from inquiring) and before our wedding they had added to their already wonderful collection of items, antiques and decorations, up-lighting...etc that we didn't have to get any more of that.\r\rWe had a tasting day scheduled where we met with several other Couples to taste and see what food we would want. It was Delicious!! \r\rWe met with coordinators: Who by the way are assigned to every couple to help with coordinating their Wedding (at not additional cost). One doesn't need to hire a coordinator.\r\rThey recommended a Minister: We wanted a Traditional Christian wedding - who was very very good, fun and coordinated the Ceremony very well! For those that this might not be important (its ok) however, being Catholic we so appreciated that the Owners: Penny and Mike even gave us a Bible (apparently they give that out to those who it makes sense to give). Where do you ever find that?? Yup they HAVE HEART!!\r\rOn the Day of the Wedding we worked very well with Monica our Wedding Coordinator too.\rHonestly many of our guests (friends and family) really complimented us on our wedding: Saying they hadn't been to a Wedding like ours before. We want to thank everyone at Reflections: Penny and Mike (owners); Coo - Master Coordinator - DorisAnn; Executive Chef - Fritz; Wedding day Coordinator - Monica; and several others who helped out on our wedding day....WE ARE EVER SO GRATEFUL!!!\rThanks so so much for making our Special Day, SPECIAL and GREAT!\r\rRachel and Dave Keyser Reviewed on 26-10-2013

Lauren Merkel(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-06-2013 The food was good. The venue was pretty and spacious. \r\rHowever, the planner (Doris) seemed put out with everything - she was annoyed with having to decorate the tables and candy bar (even though they told my mom they would take care of all that) so my mom ended up going early to decorate with family. During the reception the power went out in the entire building (it was a nighttime wedding). I asked Doris what she was going to do about it and she asked, \"well, what do you want me to do?\" My mom and I both told her to call her power company, and she said it was the weekend and no one would answer. My mom told her that they have after-hours numbers, but she seemed to not want to do anything except hide in the office and lock the door so she wouldn't have to talk to anyone. I literally stood outside the door knocking, so she would keep me apprised of what was going on. She never apologized during the power outage, but instead acted as if I was annoying her for expecting her to do something. \r\rThe power returned after about 15 minutes (which is forever when you don't know if it's going to come back on). Still no apologies. \r\rAt the end of the night, they couldn't find the cake boxes so my mom asked for aluminum foil to wrap the extra layers of cake. Doris told my mom that they had no aluminum foil (they cater all their events, so I can't imagine how that's possible). A friend went to the kitchen and got some. \r\rAll in all, I had a great wedding, but I'm very disappointed in the customer service and insulted that they never apologized. To this day, I haven't received a \"congratulations,\" a \"thank you,\" or (most importantly) an apology. (Mind you the venue also has you fill out a VERY extensive sheet giving them all the details, names, contact info for vendors, wedding party, etc... even has you schedule everything and put it in order and turn it in weeks ahead of time.) She couldn't be there for our rehearsal so the owner, Penny, took care of it. She sat with me and wrote out all our decorations, guest book frame, etc we had brought and where we wanted things to go - and said she would give the list and line up to Doris Ann, the coordinator. Now I don't know where the communication broke down here.. but no one knew anything or what to do on our day - it's like nothing had ever been discussed.\r\rImmediately off as I was on my way to do our \"first look\" with the photographer the new coordinator stops me and tells me the guestbook frame is missing and no one can find it... I start to panic (I just brought it 24 hours ago) luckily a friend stepped in. We had on our sheet we wanted dinner served as soon as the reception hall opened if not immediately after. It took over half an hour - and when we said something to her.. she got rather rude and said \"oh.... so you want everything just so\" - well what did I pay you 12k for?!?!\r\rShe even lined up our wedding party wrong wtih the ring bearer and flower girl in the front of the entire wedding party - forunately my MOH had coordinated a few weddings and stepped in and corrected. \r\rOh and when we had finished the ceremony, were announced and walking down the aisle.. the music didn't even start until we had made it all the way down! Basically we have AMAZING family and friends that stepped in and took charge, they even went to get the cake cutter for us as we were 30 minutes late cutting the cake already.\r\rThe Bottom Line -\r\rThis is a great venue looks wise- the food is excellent. I can't speak to the other two wedding coordinators as they did not do our wedding but I was not happy with ours - but I don't know if that is her fault or the owners failure to communicate with her. I would bring your own wedding coordinator if this is the venue you choose. The venue is BEAUTIFUL and the food is amazing. You just need someone to run the show. Reviewed on 22-05-2013
Rebecca McElligott(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-12-2012 My husband and I had our wedding reception at Reflections on Dec. 29. We found the facility to be beautiful and the vendors they recommended for the DJ and cake were also great. Our reception was flawless. We had Lavisa for our wedding coordinator there and she was super professional and organized to work with. They changed chefs during our planning process but we absolutely loved Fritz. His food was absolutely delicious and he was incredibly flexible in helping us plan our menu and work to accommodate different food allergies and preferences. I would highly recommend dealing with the staff instead of the owners as much as possible. We learned that it is best to double confirm appointments with other memebers of the staff and not the owner, Mike, alone. I had made an appointment with him to do my bridals their about six weeks before the wedding. It was never put on the books and my photographer and I were locked out (the gardens were unlocked and we were able to do them back there with me changing in a corner of the patio). We gave only four stars on service because of the lock-out. Otherwise it would be 5. Reviewed on 21-01-2013

Kita Lyle(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-05-2012 I don't think I could have picked a more perfect location for our wedding :) I'm a nursing student and work at a hospital, so I needed a venue that would take care of the major details for me while also allowing me to input my personal flavor and choices; Reflections did just this. The place itself is gorgeous (italian stones, lush gardens, trickling pond, lovely gazebo, etc) but the staff made it that much better. The chef was super involved and catered (literally!) to all of my requests/needs, Michael and Lavisa were always kind and helpful. Did I mention the food was fantastic? (Rave reviews!) Our wedding was beautiful and save for a few expected bumps in the road, I couldn't have asked for more. Thank you SO much Reflections on Spring Creek!!! Reviewed on 04-06-2012

We spent months planning the wedding and anytime I needed anything they were just a phone call or text away. Thank you to their staff for being so reliable and kind. Reviewed on 15-01-2012
