Beware, if you're the one of the privileged you get exactly what they say if you're not one of the privileged then you have to step outside your comfort zone to get what you're paying for. I would never recommend this place for a wedding unless you're one of the privileged. The event coordinator never responds back to you, what they told us we would get was not what we received if it's a wedding the bride has no place to change her clothes- unless you're one of the privileged of course. The space that we had reserved for our wedding was not reserved as we were told. Then again we had to step outside of our comfort zone to get it done. I do not recommend this wedding event venue. Dorie Beam(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-11-2021 We chose to have a small reception here after our Vegas elopement. We had about 75 people and had more than enough space for a photo booth, dj, buffet and gift table. The food was excellent and the views of the reservoir in November were beautiful. The staff were so helpful during set up and responsive every step of the way. Reviewed on 13-01-2022
K J(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-04-2022 When searching for a wedding venue, we wanted something nontraditional and the view at Rick's was unparalleled! Savannah was so accommodating throughout our entire wedding planning process. There are so many options on their menu and they were great at keeping us updated on our consumption tab total. The wait staff was super helpful and cooperative, we had no complaints whatsoever. I would definitely book this venue for another event. The spaces available at Rick's would be perfect for a wedding, bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, baby shower, or birthday celebration. So many options available and Savannah was great at helping us stay on budget! Reviewed on 13-01-2022
C T(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-02-2021 Don’t choose this venue! The pictures make it look a lot nicer than it actually is! The gazebo portion is in a parking lot. The empirical room is dirty and outdated. Not worth the price you would pay. Also the event planner Savannah is very unorganized and forgot the tour time and never called or emailed with a reschedule or answers to our questions. Nick the manger did his best to show us around. Over all bad experience. Do not pay the money for this. Reviewed on 15-07-2021

Lavonna Thomas(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-01-2017 I have to say, out of everything, the reception venue/food was the thing I was most worried about coming together, but it definitely did! The tasting was awful. There's no other way to describe it, and for our final menu, 80% of our choices we had never tasted before, but the food ended up being a hit! We did the 3 entree buffet with the chicken fettuccine, sirloin with Zinfandel sauce, and lobster tails. People loved it! Communication with the venue was pretty good, but I was in a panic when there was a change of event directors less than two weeks before my event! Thank goodness though, because the previous person was not so nice! All-in-all, I'm impressed it came together as well as it did given the few (but major) hiccups along the way. Lindsey Bouza(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-06-2012 My fiancee and I wanted something non-traditional, on the water, and affordable. We definitely got all of that with Rick's. However, due to having a lower volume of weddings and wedding receptions compared to other venues in the area, they could use some improvement in certain areas, in order to get 5 stars. First of all, we received answers to our questions in a timely manner, but due to staffing changes, they were conflicting from when we first booked them to closer to the wedding date. Things such as having fans available, the cost of chairs, the tent sides, etc. Nothing that was a deal-breaker, but little things weren't communicated from one staff person to the next. Also, the onsite event coordinator didn't mention switching the bar and dessert table until the day of. Well, we put certain people closer to the bar for a reason and it was opposite on the day of. Also, there was a golf cart to take our elderly guests up the hill to the restroom and we were told we'd have that on the day of; however, the golf cart was not working that day and we were never told that. Again, not a big deal, but it was something. We do realize they don't do very many weddings, so certain things are understandable.\rNow the positives, the view was amazing of Eagle Creek Reservoir and the sailboats. We were not charged extra to use the gazebo for our ceremony. Also, we did not have a venue charge, simply the cost of the tent rental. (You can use one of Rick's banquet rooms, but they only hold about 100 people and we had 160). The food was delicious and the bar packages of keg beer and wine were very affordable. They even had a cash bar for our guests, which was nice. Rick's allowed us to bring in our own desserts for our \"dessert table\". Also, they offered to set up the decorations themselves, as long as we dropped them off and gave them directions. They did a great job putting together all of the decorations. It was also a very hot day, and all of the staff were very cordial to everyone, even when I asked about having extra utensils in the buffet so we could use both sides. They accidentally charged my Dad twice for alcohol, but when we talked it out and they realized their mistake, it was quickly corrected. I would defintely recommend Rick's Boatyard to anyone wanting a great view, great food, and great atmosphere. Reviewed on 30-07-2012
