The acclaimed star purchased the property in 1961, transforming it into a piano bar and event space. Our wedding at Odette's on 9/23/23 was truly a dream!!! From the second we began planning about a year out to the day of (even the day after!!) every person we worked with Taylor, Isabel, Sarah and Kristine were outstanding! They each made me feel like I was the only bride they were working with. Their responsiveness, attention to detail and overall professionalism in there extremely stressful wedding industry was so comforting! We were planning to get married outside in their new ceremony space but we were pivoted inside due to an extremely rainy fall weekend. Throughout all of this Isabel was a tremendous help as we adjusted our ceremony location, logistics, photo locations and even adjust a lot of our floral and decor very last minute. And in terms of day of...we have not stopped getting compliments on the vibes of the hotel, the drinks, the food, the band and truly everything!!! It was the best night of our lives and we are so grateful we chose Odette's.

We loved the aesthetic and location of River House, the food was amazing, and the staff was incredible during the event - so thoughtful about our experience, it really felt like they cared that we had the best time and we felt very taken care of. The downsides that have been documented here (parking, etc) are real, but it was worth it for us because of how unquiet the venue was and how well it fit our vision

Our wedding at River House was absolutely perfect. The venue is stunning, and a personal coordinator will start to work with you 6 months out from the big day. Food is fantastic and everyone said our wedding cake was the best they have ever had. Our photos on site were so beautiful.

The venue itself is breathtaking. It was the ideal backdrop for our special day. The food was also AMAZING. Our guests could not stop raving! Isabel was wonderful! From our initial inquiry to the big day, she was responsive, accommodating, and incredibly professional. She made sure every detail was executed flawlessly, allowing us to relax and enjoy every moment. We can't thank River House at Odette’s enough for making our wedding day the most incredible day. We got married at River House at Odette's in July of 2023 and couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. Everything was flawless - the suites to get ready in with breakfast, the beautiful venue, incredible staff, and the amazing food and service. We recieved so many comments about how delicious the food was!! We worked closely with Sara and Isabel, who were both AMAZING and constantly went above and beyond to help us. All of our vendors commented on how fantastic the coordinators ewre to work with. I'm definitely a type-A personality, and Sara and Isabel were truly on top of every single detail - from the first planning meeting to follow up calls and then seamless day-of execution. They really went above and beyond - meeting us as soon as we arrived on site and managing vendor tips, our rehersal dinner, brunch and day of breakfast. They even unpacked flip flops and made sure everything was in our suite at the end of the night! We can't recommend River House enough. We were blown away!

Our wedding took place on 07/08/2023 at Odette's. It was such a memorable and beautiful day despite the muggy heat and occasional rain! Odette's was the first and only venue that we toured. We fell in love immediately. Between our contract signing and actual wedding day, the number of services and flexibility that Odette's provides expanded and we appreciated all of the additional experiences we got to have because of it: upgraded suite, rooftop afterparty access, brand new ceremony site, banquet space allowances, etc. Krista and Taylor from the Sales team were great and answered any questions we had very thoroughly! While the communication throughout the wedding timeline is somewhat minimal from Odette's, all communication is ramped up 1-2 weeks before the wedding. Our coordinators, Sara & Isabel, were absolutely wonderful. They took great care of us, our guests, and our other vendors! They work amazing together and have such amazing energy and attentiveness. Our banquet director, Dan, really assuaged our stress and led a stellar team that provided top-tier service! The servers, bartenders, kitchen, and house staff should all be routinely recognized for their hard work! On top of that, Dave (General Manager), Alex (Bell Captain), and the valet team took the time to chat with us in addition to assisting us (above and beyond) with our hotel services. We felt so welcomed by them and are so thankful that they're the ones that will be in our wedding memories. It takes a village! As for the venue itself, breathtaking is a understatement. We were told that we were among the first to use the brand new ceremony space and love how spacious it is. For how close to the road it is, it's so quiet and intimate. Our guests loved the views during cocktail and reception. We are still hearing the best feedback about the food and drinks! We couldn't have asked for a better experience! That being said, there are some things to keep in mind: they do not have day suites so we reserved a hotel suite (in addition to the complimentary suite given); parking is very limited on-site so if you have a wedding party that aren't hotel guests, they should arrange to be dropped off if getting ready early in the day; you will have to consider whether you'll give your allotted parking spaces to vendors or guests (we gave ours to our vendors); we had 150 people in total and it was a perfect size for the ballroom without feeling cramped. Regardless of some of those things, Odette's was absolutely the right and best choice we made. We have no regrets and are (hopefully) planning to stay the weekend for our first anniversary!

Throughout the whole planning process, Sara had excellent communication and was extremely accommodating. It is now weeks later, and our family and friends have not stopped raving about the friendliness, helpfulness, and professionalism of the entire River House staff, as well as how incredible the food was. Even though our day turned out to be quite rainy, it did not take away from the beauty and elegance of the venue in any way. The doors were still able to be open, and the view was of course stunning. It was a privilege to have had our wedding at this venue!

If I could give this venue less than one star, I would. Not only was the communication between our planner completely disregarded after our floor plan meeting, the day of my bridal shower the planner also disregarded the fact that at my shower I only requested mimosas and Bellinis. The bartenders were not made aware and served all the guests I was concerned about other drinks, in excess. The guests I had attending drink in excess and many were too drunk to even drive home. AT 11 AM. Thank you for ruining my bridal shower, Odette’s. I’m glad my brother and his fiancé backed out of this venue when they also had horrible communication with their coordinator as the turnover in employees shows how poor this business is ran in the venue space. Love the food at Odette’s, but 10/10 would not recommend their coordinators. Katie is amazing and we loved her. Would’ve been perfect if the guidelines we set were followed but my shower was ruined due to the fact that communication was not clear amongst your staff but this is unacceptable.

This venue was the first and ONLY venue we looked at. From the moment we walked in, we knew this was going to be the place for our wedding. Not only are the views, ambiance, and venue itself spectacular, but the service was unmatched. Every single person we came in contact with greeted us with a smile and was super helpful. The events team here took care of every single detail, which made the whole wedding planning process a breeze. They executed our vision perfectly. We also can’t forget about the food…. Wow. From the appetizers to the desserts, everything was delicious. All of my guests were blown away. We could not have asked for a better experience or venue for our big day. We will forever want to relive our day and can not thank the team enough for their hard work and efforts that went in to it. If you are looking for a venue that truly does it all, this is the place.

We could not have asked for a better wedding venue than River House at Odette's! The staff were fantastic, from our wedding coordinator Sara to the front desk and wait staff, everyone made our day feel special. We did everything onsite starting the morning of the wedding. The bridal party got ready in a suite, then we had an outdoor ceremony followed by the cocktail hour and reception indoors. Odette's coordinated with our vendors to ensure everything was seamless- we didn't have to worry about anything the day of! Most importantly, we had the best day and our guests loved the venue. We could not be happier with our experience, we highly recommend River House at Odette's!

I usually never write reviews, but I had to take the time out of my day for this one because our wedding experience at River House at Odette's was TRULY SPECTAULAR!!! Kim is is an absolute rockstar and we were so lucky to have had her running the show on our big day. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, the service and attention to detail were unmatched. They did everything we asked and more, helped us constantly throughout the weekend, and made us feel like such valued guests and we could not be more grateful! From the valet staff, to the event staff, to the front desk staff, all the waiters/bartenders, it was overall and holistically a great experience.We did everything from getting ready to the after party at the hotel and having everything right on site was extremely helpful. The knowledge of the staff and their ability to help us with quite literally anything we needed was just a great thing to have on a usual very stressful weekend. The quality of the rooms was great, the food overall was a HIT from the appetizer stations to the dessert, people were raving about it. We had about 150 total guests and it was a perfect amount for the space. It was worth every single penny to have our wedding here! We will definitely be back every single year for our anniversary!

Had a few hiccups along the road but on our wedding day when other vendors didn’t pull through, the River House did. Food was outstanding everyone absolutely raved about it. People were in love with the hotel and rooftop bar. Our photographers couldn’t get enough of the building and vibe. Staff was incredible. Only suggestion would be to check and check again on all details beforehand but even if you forget, RH will get it straightened out and absolutely crush it and exceed your expectations.

People were in love with the hotel and rooftop bar. Our photographers couldn’t get enough of the building and vibe. Staff was incredible. As the bride, I had an absolute amazing experience at River House. My coordinator Kim could not have been more helpful. I was able to turn my brain completely off on the wedding day and knew that Kim had everything handled. We got rave reviews about the food as well. The people serving the dinner were also extremely fun and kind. A couple things to note: there are limited rooms at the property. If you plan to have people stay there, have them book immediately. We booked in bulk early on under one credit card and this caused a lot of confusion with the reservation people who are off site. The people at river house were extremely helpful though. I read a previous review about the carding at the bar and I heard back from my bridesmaids that they experienced the same treatment. It was only 1 of our 3 bartenders that was being a bit curt with people. The other two were lovely.

We booked in bulk early on under one credit card and this caused a lot of confusion with the reservation people who are off site. The people at river house were extremely helpful though. I read a previous review about the carding at the bar and I heard back from my bridesmaids that they experienced the same treatment. It was only 1 of our 3 bartenders that was being a bit curt with people. The other two were lovely.

She communicated the venue guidelines clearly, while accommodating nearly any request we had. Their base package includes so much already that putting together the other wedding details wasn't so daunting. And the Bridge and/or Bow Suite were PERFECT for getting ready, providing plenty of space for family, wedding party, and vendors. While River House hosts many events, WE always felt like the priority!

We got married on July 30th and had the most amazing wedding at the Riverhouse. If you are looking for a venue that has incredible views, service and food, look no further. There are a few things you need to know which we will mention towards the end. Our wedding day was flawless thanks to the incredible team of Kerry and Melanie. They really made sure everything we envisioned came alive. They even continued to check on us throughout the wedding to make sure we didn’t need anything.Our weather was perfect so we ended up having the reception outside even though we were planning to have it inside if it was going too be hot. We were able to make this call the day before which was nice flexibility. The cocktail hour was a highlight and we chose a whiskey sour as our signature drink. There was never a line for drinks at the bar since they were passing out our signature drink and wine as people entered cocktail hour. People raved about the slider bar. For the dinner we went with the filet and crab cake. The service was incredible and the food was even better. The food at weddings is never that great, but we had so many compliments. The steak was cooked perfectly. We couldn’t have been happier with the venue. There are some things you need to know if you select Riverhouse. The hotel can be a little pricey for family members and it can’t hold all your guests. We needed to rent a bus for our hotel guests staying offsite. We upgraded our complimentary room to the suite. This is a must for getting ready. Although the parking situation isn’t ideal for guest driving to the wedding the Riverhouse always had the sprinter vans waiting in the off site lot.

She made the rehearsal, ceremony & reception flawless. The entire staff was fantastic! The scenery was beautiful and we were taken care off from the moment we arrive. My now husband, parents and I met with River House in the fall of 2019, fell in love with it, and selected our date (January '21). And then, after the contract was signed, we quickly felt that River House had over sold their accommodations and services, were looking to nickel and dime us, and treated us as if they were doing us a favor by hosting our wedding. As soon as we were put into contact with our Coordinator, Vanessa, things began to unravel. From the parking, to the table options, to even the cake and speciality cocktail – nothing seemed to be as promised. From very early on, I felt as if every time I inquired about something, it was going to be a fight – which is not how any bride wants to feel about her wedding venue.And then, COVID hit which only made things worse. The communication was poor between River House and the couples. They were not yet open and experiencing delays in construction but kept ensuring the couples that everything would be fine by August. Every time we inquired about our options; we got a different answer. River House kept saying that things were “ever evolving.\" Unfortunately, they never seemed to evolve in a way that was beneficial for the bride and groom. It was an incredibly stressful waiting game with a hefty deposit on the line. We were finally able to reschedule our wedding 3 months out from our original date, and luckily found a mutually agreeable date with no change in price per person or guest minimum. However, probably in a ploy to make more money, they changed our guest block upping the 1 to 2 night minimum to a 2 to 3 night minimum. At almost $500 per night with no discount, not a single person stayed in our guest block. We were also disappointed with the size of the guest room that came with our package. It was far too small for a bridal party to get ready in, so we ended up upgrading our room which cost us even more money. I will say that the room we upgraded to was beautiful and perfect for the day, it just would have been nice to not have to pay extra for something that’s almost expected for a wedding venue.As RHAO opened and 2021 rolled in, we were met with some new challenges – namely disappointment in the ceremony space which was much smaller than anticipated and essentially in a parking garage. However, we were pleasantly surprised with the overall aesthetics of the venue, the new coordinator Kerry, and the flexibility from the chef/catering team to make some modifications to the menu. The day before and the day of the wedding were perfect. I met with Kerry and her intern Corrine before the rehearsal and they made me feel like finally, everything was in good hands. On the day of the wedding we decided to move the ceremony indoors since it was threatening rain and I am so glad we did. It was beautiful and more spacious than the outdoor space. When we saw the cocktail hour displays and how all of our accessories were arranged, I was pleasantly surprised again – it exceeded my expectations. Kerry was accommodating all night and helped keep everything on schedule. She truly turned my whole experience around and for her I am incredibly grateful! The wait staff was very helpful and attentive as well. Everyone loved the food and the beauty of the venue – months later, people are still talking about it. My husband and I will always have fond memories of our wedding day but I would be lying if I said it wasn’t clouded over by the negative interactions with RHAO leading up to it.

We had our wedding at the River House over Labor Day Weekend (9/5/21) and it was phenomenal! I have received an endless stream of compliments on the venue, the service, and the food from so many guests! The coordination team is incredible and so helpful - I really don't know how they manage everything. We were the third of 3 weddings that weekend but I always felt like our coordinator Kerry was available to help us and keep us organized - she was so wonderful to work with and always responsive to our questions, every step of the planning process. Okay, but the FOOD. I seriously wish I could be a guest at a River House wedding just so I could eat all the incredible food again. Wedding entrees can be tough to make good with so many people to feed, but they were SO good, so fresh - many people have told me it was the best food they ever had at a wedding. The cake was SO GOOD too - and I pretty much never like wedding cake. We had a breakfast the next day on the rooftop, another gorgeous space at the hotel, and I just couldn't get over how delicious everything was, all weekend.The space and rooms are gorgeous. Having the indoor-outdoor element was so elegant and helped relieve some Covid-related fears. This was one of the more expensive venues we looked at, but we felt the value was worth it for everything we got. A few days before our wedding, there was serious flooding throughout the region. Unfortunately, it impacted some of the parking availability for the weekend, but the valet team went above and beyond to help us - they even drove a few of our friends home when they couldn't get an Uber in the area. New Hope is a really fun area for guests too. It was nice for people visiting from out of town to be able to be tourists for the weekend and experience everything it has to offer.

We had our wedding on 8/14/21 and everything was OUTSTANDING! We booked our wedding before the venue was even finished so it was a bit of gamble, but it was absolutely perfect! The Pros: The venue is so cool! You will impress all your guests. The decor is so fun, fresh and upscale. The food and service was exceptional. Our guests kept raving about how delicious the appetizers and entrees were! The raw bar at cocktail hour was a big hit as well as our specialty drink. We selected the filet mignon and salmon as our entrees and both were cooked perfectly. The cocktail hour and reception were open air and it was comfortable for our guests even on a 90 degree, humid summer day. This was important to us, particularly since COVID. Kerry, our venue coordinator, was so helpful and attentive. She was on top of everything and worked with my planner to make sure everything was just how we envisioned. Someone give her a raise!The Cons: The hotel requires a 2 night minimum stay on the weekends. This is likely not a problem for anyone in the wedding party, but you guests may not want to stay two nights. The shuttle buses for guests coming from other hotels and the bridal party (if getting married off-site), pick-up and drop-off in the parking lot to the left of the venue and requires a short walk to the entrance. It's located near the utilities, valet parking lot and trash. It was not really a problem for us since we had good weather, but it may be more of a problem in rain, snow, etc. Finally, the ballroom is not huge. We had about 145 guests and a 9 piece band, which left us with a large dance floor. I think it might get tight with 200 people and tables. However, it depends on what is important to you. We wanted a huge dance floor and that's what we had.Overall, I would absolutely recommend the River House. It's a beautiful venue. You will not be disappointed. We are so happy we hosted our wedding there. We are looking forward to going back to stay at the hotel sometime in the near future.

We had our wedding on 8/14/21 and everything was OUTSTANDING! We booked our wedding before the venue was even finished so it was a bit of gamble, but it was absolutely perfect! The Pros: The venue is so cool! You will impress all your guests. The decor is so fun, fresh and upscale. The food and service was exceptional. Our guests kept raving about how delicious the appetizers and entrees were! The raw bar at cocktail hour was a big hit as well as our specialty drink. We selected the filet mignon and salmon as our entrees and both were cooked perfectly. The cocktail hour and reception were open air and it was comfortable for our guests even on a 90 degree, humid summer day. This was important to us, particularly since COVID. Kerry, our venue coordinator, was so helpful and attentive. She was on top of everything and worked with my planner to make sure everything was just how we envisioned. Someone give her a raise!The Cons: The hotel requires a 2 night minimum stay on the weekends. This is likely not a problem for anyone in the wedding party, but you guests may not want to stay two nights. The shuttle buses for guests coming from other hotels and the bridal party (if getting married off-site), pick-up and drop-off in the parking lot to the left of the venue and requires a short walk to the entrance. It's located near the utilities, valet parking lot and trash. It was not really a problem for us since we had good weather, but it may be more of a problem in rain, snow, etc. Finally, the ballroom is not huge. We had about 145 guests and a 9 piece band, which left us with a large dance floor. I think it might get tight with 200 people and tables. However, it depends on what is important to you. We wanted a huge dance floor and that's what we had.Overall, I would absolutely recommend the River House. It's a beautiful venue. You will not be disappointed. We are so happy we hosted our wedding there. We are looking forward to going back to stay at the hotel sometime in the near future.

Best team ever!! Kerry, Vanessa, and Corinne gave us the day we had envisioned! From booking the venue to the wedding day, they were responsive, accommodating, knowledgeable, and so friendly. I had no concerns going into the day and knew I could trust them. They were on top of everything! The whole property is beautiful and the food is amazing. The wait staff was professional and the bartenders were so friendly. We can't wait to come back and celebrate anniversaries!

Our wedding was July 4th at The River House at Odettes. Everything was EXCEPTIONAL! From Kerry our day of planner who was so organized and helpful to the amazing food and drink, it was perfect. It poured 30 minutes before our outdoor ceremony, but you wouldn’t even know it. Everything was dried off and the show went on as planned. Food drink and service was incredible. Kerry set up all of our decorations beautifully and they accommodated to anything we wanted. Best possible wedding experience at the most stunning venue!

Lindsay and Vanessa worked with us from start to end, answering all (and there were a lot) questions that we had throughout. When we had to postpone our wedding due to COVID they couldn't have made it any easier for us to do so. I had zero concerns leading up to the day of our wedding because they made us feel THAT comfortable with their capability to execute the wedding of our dreams. The day of was nothing short of perfect with incredible attention to detail. Our guests all gushed about how fantastic the food was as well as the level of customer service they received. Our head server Dominque was AMAZING, so attentive to our needs throughout the night and so sweet. The only very minor downsides were the parking situation (shuttle needed for non hotel guests) and cost of hotel rooms deterred some guests from staying, but its well worth it. Photos don't do justice to how stunning the venue is! The aesthetic and setting is idyllic. They have absolutely thought of everything to make sure you feel special on your wedding day! We (and our guests and families) had a fabulous experience and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking in or around the area.. there is nothing like it. We can't wait to return for years to come to celebrate anniversaries.

Our 4/3/21 wedding at The River House was a DREAM! The atmosphere is undeniable from the moment you walk in and is truly what sold us on the venue (plus the open wall and open air feel that keep everyone safe during covid was a game changer). Everything else just fell into place after that. People are still raving about the food. It was even better than what we had at the tasting too which was a great plus.We worked with Vanessa throughout the planning process and she had answers for all of my questions along the way. I had quite a few \"accessories\" that she placed in perfect order around the venue on the big day. Once I got everything to her the day before and provided info on what each item was for, I didn't have to worry about a thing after that. (Favors, placecards, items for the tables, memorial table, guest book, bar signs, etc.)They worked well with our other vendors and the day went so well. The entire staff was really just super friendly and kind throughout the whole weekend.The ceremony space is small and just off to the side of their driveway. It didn't seem ideal but we loved the venue so we went for it anyway. They did a great job of blocking off the driveway and hanging curtains to make it look nice. There is a main road right there which wasn't a big problem, though a motorcycle did go by and was pretty loud. You can't beat the view once you're in the space either. (Look out for road signs that they may be able to cover up so they don't stand out in your pictures!)The parking situation isn't perfect, but we were lucky to have a small enough group to make it work. The rooms are really cool and impressive when you first walk in. I do think they're on the high end of the price spectrum and there was no discount available for our room block at the time. The hotel was accommodating to our needs with some immediate family but not many guests stayed there otherwise.I cannot reiterate enough though, the day was a DREAM! I'm not a complainer but I do have high standards and I can't think of any reason you shouldn't go check this place out. I'm certain we'll be back to celebrate some anniversaries in the future!Thank you to the entire River House team for making everything go so well for our big day and beyond!

We had our daughter's wedding here. We were so focused on planning out every detail that I don't think I processed what the actual day would be like. It was sheer perfection. Every aspect of the reception was executed flawlessly, down to the lamb chop appetizers. Service was perfection. We had come for a few weekends prior and then of course stayed there for the wedding weekend and we felt like the entire hotel was taking care of us including room service in the gorgeous suites. I can't thank them all, every one of them, enough for a perfect event on one of the most important days of my life.

I’m the Mother of the Bride from the 3-6-21 wedding and I can’t say enough about how amazing the experience was to have our family and friends celebrate my daughter and son in laws wedding! The staff was so friendly and hospitable! It felt like 7 STAR Elegance meets comfort of home! I mean it was so beautiful and the food was exceptional ! Vanessa and Lindsay were great and our guests felt like any need they had was met asap! I found the staff at front desk to the bellmen to the valet were so friendly and helpful! We loved every moment of being there and CANNOT wait to go back! So well worth the investment! For your daughter or sons wedding you might as well have your wedding somewhere you know will be memorable! I still can’t believe how magical it was and the staff remained cool calm and exceptional the entire time! I can’t fully explain it ! You just have to go check it out for yourself!

We felt that the money we spent was 100% worth it, between the impeccable hotel service, the incredible food, the sweet and friendly staff, and how accommodating and understanding they were when we let them know that we wanted to still keep our wedding date during COVID, but wanted it to be smaller to keep our guests safe. Vanessa and Lindsay were organized, personable, and made an effort to speak to any family member that I asked to help. They made the process EASY in the middle of a pandemic. Our wedding went perfectly in every way possible. We stayed an extra night after the wedding and it was so nice to invite family to have brunch with us and to be able to hang out with our loved ones who stayed over. I would highly recommend the River House to anyone wedding planning!

We had our wedding at River House on 11/6 and it was absolutely wonderful. I read the review that gave the venue 1 star, and though I’m sorry for his bad experience, mine couldn’t have been more different.We also had to make some changes due to COVID. However, the River House staff (specifically Vanessa) could not have been more kind or accommodating. They helped us to come up with a plan that caused as little disruption as possible.Our wedding day was beautiful. The food was fantastic! All of the River House staff worked hard to ensure our day was memorable and our guests enjoyed themselves. Our guests were impressed with not only the food and the atmosphere, but also how they were treated by the staff. Everyone was treated as important guests, not just me and my husband. I would highly recommend River House at Odette’s!

This is a pandemic wedding story, but it's also a story of how River House proved to be the least hospitable people you'll ever work with. Between their dismissal of our Covid worries as well as their hidden costs of logistics, they made wedding planning a nightmare. I'm sure its views and venue are luxury, but that's where the facade ends.We booked a winter ‘21 wedding with River House in December ‘19, at which time we were told it would open in May 20 (not September). Then Covid-19 happened, so we reached out in March to ask about rescheduling before things got out of control. Over emails and calls, they made our lives miserable for 4 months. No one expected the pandemic, but River House refused to help us.In March 20, we asked for 1 of 2 things: either move up our date of when we can choose to postpone by (instead of 2 months out to 3-4 months out from the wedding) or postpone now (move our date from winter 21 to later that year). They declined both, insisting on controlling when we could postpone even after we pleaded that we didn’t want our wedding to be Covid-compromised. On their timeline, the earliest we’d have been able to postpone is December ‘20. At that point, rescheduling would be a disaster. Imagine you’ve paid thousands but have no control of your wedding date. You have to wait on guideline/vaccine developments for 6 months before postponing or rescheduling your vendors, guests, transportation, hotels, flowers, etc. Your vendors book other rescheduled weddings and new couples. You’re forced into choosing a date you don’t want or new vendors entirely. The concessions River House did offer ignored our issues entirely (one of which was offering to change our date for $5000 extra).As for logistics, River House makes your life difficult. There’s no bridal suite or groomsmen room. With our large bridal party we’d have to get a 2nd room and upgrade a room (an upgrade fee of $75-$759 a night). Their Mercedes vans won’t drive around New Hope, only to their parking lot. So if you have guests staying at the Lambertville Inn because they don’t want to pay $270+ a night on a hotel, you may have to arrange their transportation. We also asked multiple times for pricing on their “Cottages” and never received it. We told them all of this. River House refused to cooperate with us until 3 days before our 2nd deposit was due in June. Krista (Sales Director) told us that she felt our feelings on coronavirus were not as relevant as the opinion of their board of trustees, specifically an oncologist who studied at UPenn. My fiancé works in pharmaceuticals and understands drug development, distribution, and go-to-market supply chains. You cannot be more condescending to people WHO WANTED TO GIVE YOU THEIR MONEY. This angered us so much that we canceled our date; we may not get back our deposit.River House made us feel like our money wasn’t good enough even though we put down a deposit site unseen. They treat you as if you should be grateful for getting to give them your money. I have 0 faith they would be able to handle any kind of wedding issue without price gouging us or being useless. (We feel the opposite with our new venue, Nassau Inn. They’re outstanding. Ask for Melissa).Speaking of deposit, add contract language that ensures River House will not charge you a $1500 cancellation fee if you don’t get married there. Buy wedding insurance.Best of luck with your wedding venue search. Hopefully, you pick somewhere else.
