Riverside Receptions and Conference Center is a wedding venue located in Geneva, IL, just an hour outside of the center of Chicago. The historic property offers a quaint, serene setting for any special occasion. This venue is ideal for couples envisioning a rustic ambience for their celebration while still being close to the city. Riverside Receptions and Conference Center provides a variety of event spaces to help you achieve your dream wedding. To say “I do” in the open air, you and your partner can hold your ceremony in the outdoor courtyard. Highlighted by lush plants, blossoming flowers, and brick accents, the space offers an intimate setting where you can exchange vows. Inside, there are three other ceremony sites featuring rustic decor and expansive windows overlooking the river. Where do we start with how amazing this venue is. Our daughter's wedding was in October and the Fall colors, especially overlooking the Fox River Dam were spectacular! The stone and brick outside with all the Fall plantings, outside adirondack sitting areas, inside cozy corners, wood accents, including a bar area, and their Wedding ceremony was perfect in the stone and brick room adjacent to the open and beautiful downstairs space with the river behind. The outside walkway where the bridal party took a break during the reception with the sounds of water, moonlight and fresh air. A little cigar smoking might have taken place out there, but not sure. haha. The food was spectacular and the pricing was amazing. Renee was amazing to work with. She went out of her way to make sure every detail was attended to including more than we even asked for or new!! My almost daily emails to her were always answered. We highly recommend this venue. Everyone loved it!

This venue is a hidden gem! We saw this venue after late nights researching, and although it was a little further out than we were initially planning, we knew we had to at least take a tour. Honestly, we should have stopped looking at other venues after that. Every venue we toured was compared to Riverside Receptions, and nothing could top it. Tina, Renee, and the rest of the team are all so wonderful to work with. They are in the business of making wedding dreams come true. They were so accommodating in ways that we never even imagined. We were in contact mostly with Renee. Renee showed us the venue, answered our seemingly endless questions, met with us for our drop off appointment, worked with us during our rehearsal, and coordinated the lineup for our ceremony. It was nice to see a familiar face at our meetings. She also was very helpful with her suggestions, and she knew what worked and what did not.The venue itself is gorgeous. We had the lower level for our wedding day. The weather was beautiful in the afternoon, so we took beautiful pictures outside and behind the venue on the river. It rained during our ceremony and dinner. Luckily, we had planned for our ceremony to be inside regardless. The reception room was right on the river with full windows across the whole room and a gorgeous view. Later in the evening, when the rain stopped, our guests were able to spend time outside. The food was delicious. We enjoyed all the food at our tasting, so we had a hard time making decisions. The food was just as delicious at our wedding. The drinks were also great, and there was never a long wait. Our guests had such a great time. Overall, if we had to do it all again, we would not change a thing. We highly recommend Riverside Receptions.

So strange that there was a bad review from a recent bride. I would recommend Riverside Receptions to anyone who was looking for a beautiful venue. The venue has a beautiful setting on the banks of The Fox River.

Beautiful venue HORRIBLE STAFF. Do not have your wedding here. The managers forgot half the things we paid for and refuse to give a refund. They yelled at my bridal party, made our wedding late to start, sat around on their phones when we needed help. Horrible horrible staff.

Riverside Receptions was the best choice we made for our wedding! They are a hassle-free venue and so much is included in their wedding package (open bar, all the food, decor options, set-up/clean-up). Renee was our point of contact during the planning process and she was always very helpful and responsive to our questions! The day-of team helped everything run smoothly and there were no hiccups to our day!! The highlight for our guests was the big charcuterie table, definitely a must and will blow everyone away!! We received so many compliments on the food and views of the fox river! Can't recommend this venue enough!

Choosing Riverside Reception was the best decision we made for our wedding. The moment we got there we knew it was the perfect venue for us. We were greeted by Tina who not only gave an amazing tour but went above and beyond to help us picture our special day there. They offered amazing packages, including the winter package, that made our dream wedding affordable. Throughout the whole planning process Tina and Renee were always available for questions and extremely flexible with our requests. Specifically, we wanted to have craft beer the day of the wedding that we would bring in and serve as a special menu, and without hesitation they were onboard. We also wanted to bring in a donut wall, which for a small fee, they set up and had refilled all night. Leading up to the wedding I had little to no nerves because of how well they communicated with us. Beside communication, their staff is incredible. They set up the whole venue just like I imagined, and it looked like a dream. Guests raved about the food, we served chicken and steak, and people could not get over how good the steak was. I could not imagine having our wedding anywhere else.

This venue is PHENOMENAL!!!!! Price is so reasonable and the people who work there do everything that they can do to make this day amazing for you !! Our wedding was in February and it snowed!!! So It was like out of a Hallmark Christmas movie. Every guest commented on how stunning it venue was. It was a perfect place for a wedding! The River made the photos amazing Renee helped me and sue is OUTSTANDINGLY helpful. The food was the best food I have ever had or seen for a wedding. The steaks were HUGE and everything was hot for everyone!!! Sometimes when you have 144 people you expect some food to colder or not as hot but man steak, chicken and the vegetarian were soooooo good and HUGE portions Beyond pleased!!

Stunning. Unique. Helpful. Affordable. Memorable. These are all words that come to mind when I think of my experience for my July 2022 wedding at Riverside Receptions. From the moment we stepped in the property for our tour, I knew it was the perfect venue for my husband and I. From the beautifully landscaped courtyard for an outdoor ceremony, the charming and quaint building with beautiful exposed brick and fireplaces, there’s no venue I have ever attended that had such character in a unique way. And then you see the floor to ceiling windows over the gorgeous fox river, it truly adds a “wow” factor. My family and guests are still buzzing about this hidden wedding gem in Geneva. Most of my planning was done with Renee who also was my INCLUDED day of coordinator and she was marvelous. She always responded promptly to all of my many emails once my 9 month planning began. Everything from booking, to deposits to packages was explained to us clearly and thoroughly on our tour and we left ready to book the only venue we looked at. The venue made planning so simple, I never once thought of hiring a wedding coordinator. They arranged, set up, and tore down everything at no additional charge. On my wedding day I just needed to show up and they took my vision to a reality. The food was absolutely amazing. Such high quality for a wedding venue and all of the available options were delicious and difficult to choose from. Riverside ensures you get to sample what you serve your guests during your included tasting (which you are allowed to bring 4 extra people)! So so helpful to get other opinions and it was a fun night out, getting to show off the venue with loved ones before your big day.Our wedding was on a Sunday, and if you are “open” to a Sunday wedding I’m telling you, there are no deals like they have at Riverside Receptions. First and foremost, you pay a food and beverage minimum for the amount of space you want. We wanted the whole building. Our minimum was $10,000 less than the same wedding at the same location on a Saturday. Next reason to do it on a Sunday, was our premium open bar was INCLUDED. That’s right, included. This also included a red and white wine selection at every table for dinner AND a champagne toast for all guests. This is a huge savings alone. At the end of the day our wedding of 100 guests had the following; the entire building for ceremony, cocktail and reception, a well stocked cocktail hour (bacon bar, charcuterie board and crustini’s), a plated 3 course meal with a choice of a filet or prosciutto stuffed chicken, and also late night pizzas. An open premium bar for 4 hours, included wedding cake and cutting, day of coordinator, outdoor ceremony fees, rental fees, taxes AND gratuity, and a stay on our wedding night at the Herrington Inn and Spa, all for UNDER $14,000. I have been to $20,000-$40,000 weddings that could not light a candle to what Riverside Receptions offered and executed on our wedding day.Riverside Receptions provided us the most incredible space and an incredible experience for a forever memorable day. You are getting the highest quality of service, and commitment to make your day exactly what you want with very affordable options. I can’t thank the staff enough for everything they did to make our day as smooth and seamless as possible, Now just pick up the phone and go schedule a tour, you won’t be disappointed.

Riverside Receptions and Amy Hardersen we’re absolutely fantastic to work with and Riverside is an incredible venue with beautiful views. Amy was so helpful and responsive to emails when asking questions and scheduling the food tastings and various meetings. The food here is so delicious and the wait staff is so professional and kind. I cannot thank Amy enough for her professionalism, responsiveness, kindness and positive attitude. Riverside made my reception everything I could have dreamed of. Being a COVID bride was definitely not easy. But, working with Riverside WAS easy! Throughout all of the changes that had to be made to our wedding (even the very last minute changes!), Riverside was there to help in any way possible. Amy was so great to work with, too! She was understanding, knowledgeable, and SO helpful. The food was absolutely outstanding. All of our guests raved about the appetizers and dinner! And the location? Impossible to beat. The river made for some pretty amazing pictures!

Nothing but greatness from this venue! Amy & Tina were amazing to work with. Planning a wedding during covid was anything but easy, but they made it so much better! They were helpful, had responses immediately and overall just great to work with. Venue is breathtaking. We rented the whole building for our wedding (ceremony downstairs, reception upstairs) but also had the option to rent upstairs to get ready for the day, and it was so peaceful to have the river in the background while getting your hair and make up done . Food is AMAZING! We had nothing but compliments from everyone! Thank you Riverside!

Nothing but greatness from this venue! Amy & Tina were amazing to work with. Planning a wedding during covid was anything but easy, but they made it so much better! They were helpful, had responses immediately and overall just great to work with. Venue is breathtaking. We rented the whole building for our wedding (ceremony downstairs, reception upstairs) but also had the option to rent upstairs to get ready for the day, and it was so peaceful to have the river in the background while getting your hair and make up done . We absolutely loved having our wedding reception at Riverside Receptions! We worked with Amy, and she was so helpful in planning and executing our reception. The staff took care of all the setting up and decorating, and I had no worries the week and day of our wedding that they would get everything done. They are very considerate and work hard to make sure your wedding is exactly how you want it. The food was delicious, and the venue is beautiful and well-priced. We had some last minute changes in numbers because of covid and other reasons, and they were so accommodating and did all they could to make it work. Highly recommend Riverside Receptions!!!

Throughout all of the changes and regulations, Riverside had open communication and helped me reschedule my date while still honoring original prices. Talk about honesty and integrity!! On the day of our reception, our celebration was literally a dream come true-- from the incredible food we got many compliments on, to the decorated tables utilizing the venue's centerpiece options, and great view of the Fox River, ourselves and our guests had a great time! Amy is a great person to plan your event with and Tina and crew are fantastic executing your event day of. Riverside is second to none for weddings for the value alone-- custom cake from The Cakery, choice of centerpieces, delicious food options, bar packages, and the Sunday incentives are amazing! We had them booked before the pandemic, and even though we had a minimony last year, we still decided to go forward with the reception at Riverside this year, and we're so glad we did. Not only is a beautiful venue along the river, the staff is just so nice and helpful. Everyone complimented all aspects of the venue. The ambience, the food, honestly, everything! The food is amazing, venue is gorgeous, pricing is very reasonable and the wedding package has everything you could need (chairs, linens, centerpieces, cake, bar, food, etc.). The whole staff is wonderful too, Amy and Jessica helped along the way and always got back to me quickly whenever I'd reached out with a question. Our wedding ceremony and reception were perfect and I have Riverside to thank forever! The food... INCREDIBLE! BEST chicken I've ever had, everything was amazing and was served hot food hot, cold food cold! The service was outstanding and the staff all friendly and accommodating. Riverside Receptions is exceptional. Don’t even waste your time looking at other venues if you want to get married in the Geneva area. We had our ceremony and reception there in March of 2019, and everything was perfect. The only reason it has taken me so long to write this review is because I’ve been worried I won’t be able to do them justice, but I will try my best. The wonderful staff are so friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive, and they will gently guide you through the process from start to finish. Throwing the perfect reception/party is all they do and they have it down to a science, yet make it look like art. That’s one of the many advantages you get when you book your event here. This isn’t a restaurant or gallery, etc. with a back room that is trying to be an event space; this is a one-stop shop of event-planning excellence. Amy, Frances, and Jessica are so helpful and positive, they want to help make your dream event come true. Everything is so well organized, and they make it simple for you make sure all of your bases are covered. They know what questions to ask and think of all the little details you might overlook or not think to plan for. Our day-of-coordinator Neal was also a godsend. He made sure everything ran smoothly and again, asked questions I wouldn’t have thought to ask. He was our point of communication with our band/emcee, photographer, and florist to be our eyes and ears when we were getting ready/occupied. His service is invaluable because you as the bride(s) or groom(s) simply will not have time to do/oversee everything yourself that day. Also bar/waitstaff is top-notch and were so attentive, ensuring every one of our guests was comfortable. Speaking of value, I don’t think Riverside can be beat. The venue itself is gorgeous, with all of the amenities of a banquet hall, yet none of the cookie-cutterness/tackiness. This place has charm/character for days. Also so many places will nickel and dime you with linens, chair upgrades, etc. Not Riverside. Their packages include linens, chiavari chairs, centerpieces, 4-course meal, your cake, their expert coordinators/staff (priceless), and so much more for a very reasonable price. Also I know all the reviews talk about how amazing the food is. They are 100% correct. All of our guests raved about their meals, not one complaint. Even my cousin who is a professional chef couldn’t believe how good his steak was and was so impressed that all 200 guests were served their food at roughly the same time, hot and delicious. In summary, do yourself a favor and book Riverside and some of their preferred vendors for your next event. You will not regret it! ***We had Riverside do a brunch the day after our wedding for our out of town guests, and it was delicious! Such a nice, relaxing way to get some more time with your friends/family.

She was so kind, organized, and easy to work with! Tina helped me with my details meeting and really listened and customized my day to exactly how I wanted everything and was also just so kind and easy to work with!! The entire staff for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception were so accommodating, friendly and just so great to work with! Now let's talk about the venue space itself. Its GORGEOUS! You could truly get married and have none of your own decorations and it would turn out completely stunning. I used some decorations to accent things and put my personal touch on it but you truly dont need much because of how beautiful and unique this place is. Tons of brick, floor to ceiling windows that look out onto the river, fireplaces, everything is stunning! There are so many places in the venue to take gorgeous photos but also outside and all around the venue is completely gorgeous. I cant recommend Riverside enough.

The only downside is that the closest hotel is the Herrington, which was too expensive for a lot of our guests. First of all, Amy, Frances, and Jessica were a pleasure to work with. We met with them on a few occasions throughout the wedding planning process and they were always so helpful (answered our many questions, gave vendor recommendations, etc.). Every single staff member was incredibly helpful, kind, attentive- a true dream team. Our food was amazing, the atmosphere was to die for, the space absolutely gorgeous. They went above and beyond our wildest expectations to make sure our day went off without a hitch from the early days of planning all the way through the last moment before we left. So many of our guests have already told us that our wedding was one of, if not THE, best wedding they’ve been to. Our sweets table was extravagant and beautiful. The space is so incredibly versatile. She made the room look absolutely gorgeous and the staff was just amazing. We had such an amazing time and couldn’t be more grateful to have trusted Riverside with our special day. My husband and I are so glad we chose Riverside Receptions as our venue to hold our ceremony and reception. The professionalism of the entire staff was incredible ! I worked closely with Amy to work on our custom menu and she was SO helpful. Her response time was impeccable and she always was there for anything I needed. It was awesome, especially for a Type A bride, I never had any doubts or was uneasy working with them. I also worked with Jessica and Neal and they were also so unbelievably wonderful! We received so many compliments of holding our wedding at Riverside and would recommend it to any couple looking for a space that has a wonderful ambience right next to the water with an incredible staff!

Had our wedding reception (the upstairs level) and it was PERFECT. Everything ran smoothly and we are still getting compliments on the place and staff. All staff was very professional and friendly. The view of the river is amazing and cannot be beat! The place has a lot of natural charm so a lot of decorations wasn't necessary. They were always willing to work with us on every little decision! I would highly recommend this venue- it was incredible and if I had to plan my wedding over again I would choose this venue again!

The staff at Riverside Receptions made my dreams come true in every way; thank you so much to Amy, Jessica, and Neal, (and my now husband, Andrew, of course) for the best day of my life. I’m writing this review and posting it everywhere I can so that other brides can have the wedding of their dreams too; I recommend the Riverside in every way.From start to finish, booking a wedding at the Riverside is a joy. When we first toured the Riverside, I knew I needed to have my wedding there. I was looking for my inspiration words – romantic, whimsical, elegant, historical – and the Riverside was a perfect fit and more. The venue and the people impressed me right off the bat. In every room, the venue is unique and has so much character. We loved the fireplaces, the mantles, and the opportunity to decorate them so that the wedding was full of our love and personalities. The views from the windows are also a GORGEOUS backdrop for a wedding. Amy and Jessica, who showed us around, were so kind and helpful; I was in love with the venue almost as much as my now husband. After booking at the Riverside, everything was a breeze. The tasting event that we attended helped us choose our meals – DEFINITELY recommend the chicken. It is not your average chicken; it is decadent and delicious. I also recommend the New York Strip Steak with boursin mashed potatoes - YUM.In addition to the tasting event, we also enjoyed all correspondence with Amy. Communication was easy and she was so helpful and patient with questions we had. On the day, we were so happy and we were not at all disappointed. Amy and Jessica made sure everything we worked so tirelessly to plan went off without a hitch. They were on top of everything! My ceremony was so romantic and sweet and well-organized; they made sure of it! At night, Neal took over for the reception and was an absolutely wonderful help coordinating the different details of the night: making sure the parents were enjoying themselves, ensuring the bride/groom had what they needed, and helping to clean up and organize the huge amount of décor we brought with us (we rented a U-Haul…I went a little overboard but it was so worth it). The security gentleman Louis was also a treat! I enjoyed some brief chats with him. Really, the entire staff – bartenders, waiters, waitresses, everyone did a FANTASTIC job and guests have not stopped complimenting the kindness of the staff. Also, THE FOOD. It was even more delicious than I remembered from the tasting event. The appetizers were a hit (everyone loved the charcuterie table!), the sweets table was AWESOME and the late night snacks (pizza and wings) were amazing. We honestly wish the Riverside delivered pizza regularly – it was that good…and we’re pizza people who live in Chicago. Lastly, the VENUE itself was just perfect. We had 160 guests and rented both floors (downstairs ceremony and happy hour, upstairs reception) and it was so, so lovely. Everyone had a blast and it was a perfect day.Future brides and grooms, I speak the truth here: the Riverside really has everything – indoor space if you have weather concerns, a picturesque outdoor space, two floors with twinkle lights on the windows, a big dance floor, DELICIOUS, DELICIOUS catering, and a staff that works so hard to make a perfect day. We had the main level which we love because of the old brick characteristics. You real don’t need to decorate much let the old brick do it for you. That was one thing our guest love and to have a view of the river. The food was amazing!! Our guest could not stop talking about it. We did see the upper level, with the upper level you get more room and more view of the river. There no brick like the main level. That was the one thing my now husband love. The team is very helpful and will to answer any question you had. One down fall I had was I had 3 different time frame of when final stuff was due. I was able to get clearly by emailing them. Beside that I would highly recommend them!!

We had our 220 person wedding at Riverside on New Year's Eve and I will never be able to thank Tina, Amy and Neil enough for all they did for us to make our day perfect. We knew we wanted a unique venue out in the burbs. Riverside captured this. The venue is beautiful. We ultimately chose Riverside Receptions because of how wonderful the entire experience was. The staff was responsive, helpful, and went above to make sure our night came out perfectly. They have a staff member assigned to you, we worked with Frances and on the night of Neil. Frances was kind and answered all my questions throughout! Neil was amazing the night of. He did everything to make sure the day ran smooth. Overall, our wedding and reception was everything we dreamed of and would 100x over choose Riverside Receptions again.

They took care of so many details, and did a wonderful job setting up our personal décor for the day. The service from the staff on the day of the wedding was incredible. Many of our guests complimented the champagne brunch buffet, which was delicious and offers a variety of options for all guests. We had originally hoped for an outdoor ceremony in the well-maintained courtyard, but due to weather conditions we had to move it inside. Riverside created such a beautiful, intimate setting for the indoor ceremony. I would highly recommend Riverside for a wedding venue.

The food was fantastic, just as good at the actual event as it had been at the tasting. We had the lower level, and it was a gorgeous location. We loved having use of the balcony over the river.

Riverside Receptions was the perfect venue for our wedding! We initially booked one year out, but after some consideration moved the date an additional year. Riverside was more than accommodating and made the process easy. Through wedding planning all of the staff were very easy to contact. They addressed all of our needs. When we got closer to the wedding they were even better. It was record high temperatures the day of our wedding, but fortunately for us no one had booked the bottom floor so we were able to move our wedding ceremony inside for no additional cost! It saved many trips to the ER and was more than beautiful. It was also a relief to not have to worry about center pieces or decorations. For the additional personal decorations, the venue took all of our decorations and set everything up the day of. I did not have to do anything! It was such a relief to just have to get ready and have our venue perfect. We also suggest getting the vegetarian option for one of the plates! The butternut squash ravioli was honestly one of the best pastas I have ever eaten. All of the food got raving reviews as well from our guests. We cannot thank Riverside Receptions enough for the perfect day! We truly recommend this venue!

AMAZING!! We got married at Riverside at the beginning of January. It was absolutely perfect. I was so happy to be in their hands. They took care of so much. they made planning a wedding as stress free as it could be! I was very nervous bc we ended up having way more people come than I thought would (we only had 10 people Decline ended up with the grand total of 196 eek!), and they assured me it was totally fine. Everyone fit in the room People still talk about how good the food was and and how beautiful the venue was. We had the ceremony downstairs And reception upstairs. It was perfect bc we didn’t have to travel anywhere after the ceremony, yet it felt like we changed locations. They set up all my decorations perfectly and the place represented us perfectly. It was the perfect winter wedding. So much so, that one of my guests has since gotten engaged and loved our wedding so much, that she booked hers at the riverside! The only little bit of stress I had was that booking your wedding doesn’t guarantee a rehearsal the day before. They won’t hold the room for you if someone else wants to book something. This was stressful for me bc we almost had to have our rehearsal 2 days before the wedding,, which wouldn’t have worked half my party was from across the country. Including my officiant. It ended up working out, we just had to have the rehearsal in a room that the ceremony wasn’t actually taking place. That was my only bit of stress I had in the whole process.I highly recommend!! You will have the most perfect wedding if you choose this venue.

Everyone fit in the room People still talk about how good the food was and and how beautiful the venue was. We had the ceremony downstairs And reception upstairs. It was perfect bc we didn’t have to travel anywhere after the ceremony, yet it felt like we changed locations. They set up all my decorations perfectly and the place represented us perfectly. It was the perfect winter wedding. So much so, that one of my guests has since gotten engaged and loved our wedding so much, that she booked hers at the riverside! The only little bit of stress I had was that booking your wedding doesn’t guarantee a rehearsal the day before. They won’t hold the room for you if someone else wants to book something. This was stressful for me bc we almost had to have our rehearsal 2 days before the wedding,, which wouldn’t have worked half my party was from across the country. Including my officiant. It ended up working out, we just had to have the rehearsal in a room that the ceremony wasn’t actually taking place. That was my only bit of stress I had in the whole process.I highly recommend!! You will have the most perfect wedding if you choose this venue.

We are so happy with our choice to have our wedding at Riverside. The entire process was so easy and the venue is gorgeous. I love how the wedding packages include everything from the centerpieces to the food and beverage to the cake! Our whole experience from start to finish was pain free thanks to the team at Riverside. Frances helped us all along the way and when she was on vacation the week of our wedding we worked with both Amy and Neil who were amazing as well. Neil was especially helpful the night of our wedding, always anticipating our needs. Our guests raved about the food and absolutely loved the venue itself.

We held our daughter's wedding here in March 2018 on a Friday night, it was a great experience. We had an Alice in Wonderland themed wedding, so there were lots of props we had to set up beforehand, as well as take down afterwards and the people at Riverside were very accommodating about getting us into the room early to set-up, as well as letting us pick up the following morning. Food is great there. We were on the first floor, and the guests loved the view of the river, and the separate little lounge/fireplace area.

We held our wedding reception at Riverside Receptions in June 2017. We were extremely happy with our experience from beginning to end! We were looking for a venue with gorgeous views, delicious food, and a price point that we could afford. Riverside Receptions delivered on all accounts!We reserved the second floor for our reception with the floor to ceiling panoramic windows overlooking the Fox River. THE VIEW IS SPECTACULAR! We fell in love with the view immediately and our guests are still talking about how picturesque the venue was. While searching for a venue, we knew that we wanted to have a band play and that we didn’t want to be told to turn down the volume because of another wedding. This was not a problem at all! We couldn’t hear them and they couldn’t hear us.As a bride on a budget, I greatly appreciated that Riverside offered us the option to use one of their birdcages for cards, their cake server, and a variety of centerpiece options. This was a big deal for me because I wanted beautiful décor, but I did not want to store 18 lanterns after the wedding was over. We used their lanterns and floating candles as part of our centerpieces. They offer the option to have flower petals with these, but we opted to have our florist create arrangements that used these pieces. Some of their centerpiece options have a small fee, but we found that it was still cheaper than us buying all of the item ourselves. We primarily worked with Frances throughout our wedding planning process. Frances is very knowledgeable about the wedding industry and was happy to answer all of our questions – and always in a timely fashion. She consistently took great care in the details that we had planned for our day. She was also familiar with all of our vendors, which helped everything go smoothly throughout our reception. She was open to new ideas and offered insight how to make our vision a reality – while still having a fully functional event. She made everything easy for us. With Frances on your side, there is no need to hire an event coordinator. She was wonderful!Chef Amy is the head chef at Riverside Receptions, AND SHE IS A ROCK STAR! We met Chef Amy at our tasting and we were blown away with her food and willingness to make our dinner spectacular. She was honest when answering our questions about the menu and willing to make recommendations. (Thank you Chef Amy for the tip to serve the Swedish meatballs table side for that tasty sauce!) We did have some dietary restrictions – Groom was allergic to shellfish, father of the bride is on a kidney diet, and a vegan in the family – Amy handled these without issue and without sacrificing flavor. Our friends and family still talk about how good the food was! Trust us, they wouldn’t say it if they didn’t mean it! Additionally, she knew that we were worried about not getting to eat the yummy appetizers during cocktail hours because we would be at pictures. So she had small plates of the appetizers brought to the bridal suite! We were THRILLED! Then during dinner they kept the bride and groom meals hot while we were greeting all of our tables. The food and service that we received was incredible!If given the option to “do it all again”, we would definitely choose Riverside Receptions all over again. They made our wedding reception a beautiful, delicious, and worry free evening with all of our closest friends and family.

They made the entire planning process so easy. I didn't have to worry about a thing the day or week of the wedding. They set up everything so beautifully and even ran out during our event to bring in a certain type of beer we wanted. The venue itself is stunning, cozy, and right on the river so there are beautiful views. I highly recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for a place that is different than your typical ballroom/banquet hall venue.

The staff patiently listened to all of my instructions and special requests, and decorated exactly the way we envisioned everything to look. Amy was our day of coordinator, and was seriously a life saver - she is so professional, calming and kind, and helped us all stay on track. Without her guidance, I would have been a nervous wreck! She never made us feel rushed or like she didn't have time for us, and she genuinely cared about every detail. The food was also INCREDIBLE!! Both my husband and I are allergic to peanuts, and had a few other dietary requests for our wedding guests - Amy handled these flawlessly and made special accommodations for us. We had our wedding reception at Riverside Receptions and I cannot recommend it more. I grew up in a small town similar to Geneva and I loved that it had a homey, small town feel without feeling old or less formal. We had a brunch and to this day guests are telling me that it was the best food at a wedding they had. I cannot recommend the omelet bar enough. It was a huge hit. Frances and Tina were both incredibly helpful and answered numerous emails and phone calls from both me and my mom. We were absolutely thrilled with our day. I am so incredibly happy we had our reception there and will be recommending it to all my friends. The view of the river is wonderful and so beautiful. Guests enjoyed standing outside and watching the river and taking photos. It is also conveniently next to a park where we took some portraits of me and my husband. I loved it!

We got a lot of compliments from our guests on how good the food was and the day was flawless. The only downside was that there was a slight lack of communication between the staff. It would have been easier when we had to work with another consultant if they had relayed the info to Amy, who we primarily worked with, so everyone was on the same page and I didn't have to explain every detail all over again each time we talked to someone.

We can not say enough great things about this venue! Beautiful location, in the heart of downtown Geneva on the river with lots to do for the guests in the area if they stay a day or so. The planning staff is very helpful and friendly which makes a world of difference! Pretty affordable and a lot is included in each package. Its also nice that you have the option to have the ceremony AND reception in the same location which cuts the hassle of finding transportation. We hope to have our wedding here next spring.

We got married on July 4th 2015 and had our reception on the first floor at Riverside. It was perfect, the food was delicious, and they set up our smores bar and nachos without us having to worry about it!

Riverside I'm Geneva IL deserves 10 stars!! What a beautiful venue and the most delicious food! The entire staff at riverside is the most professional, kind, patient, people around! Chef Amy and team made the most delicous meal for my wedding. Norma and staff made sure all went as planned , no surprises. Frances was amazing during the planning process. We had the perfect June wedding and a lot of the credit goes to riverside! Thank you so much!

We worked with Tina & Norma on the actual day and we can't thank them enough for everything they did. They made sure everything would work out and that we wouldn't have to worry about a thing on the day of our wedding. All of the staff that night was wonderful and so friendly. Also, there was another wedding on the upper level and we didn't even notice! It was the perfect day. We are so grateful to have had such great vendors. We would love to come back and have another party here.

From our first look at the venue to our initial meeting to the planning process to the day itself, everything ran smoothly and went off so well. We mostly worked with Frances who was so friendly and easy to communicate with and had so many great ideas while also being very open to our suggestions. Everyone we ever spoke to was so accommodating and friendly from the little requests and changes to the big ones. Norma, who ran our wedding in the evening, did such a great job too.\r\rThe venue itself is gorgeous – the lower level has a great classic feel and the upper level has floor to ceiling windows with an amazing view of the river outside. The dance floor is right by the window creating a great atmosphere. We had a two long tables in front of the window for the bridal party and then my bride and I had a circle table in the center, but there were a few options. It was a great setup. We got married outside which looked beautiful too. It’s just a very classy looking place. The view and setup were a big part of our decision, so we were pleased with how easy the staff was to work with too.\r\rThere’s plenty of parking and having a hotel across the street was really convenient. There’s also a bar close by which was perfect for after-party festivities. The food was delicious too, from the appetizers all the way up to the main course. They also do this great presentation as the food comes out for the bridal party – I felt like we were at Downton Abbey or something.\r\rThere are plenty of great photo options outside too. Everyone we spoke with had a blast and specifically complemented the venue – the setting, the staff, and the food especially. I can’t say enough good things; this wedding wasn’t very stressful to plan and having a responsive, professional, beautiful venue played a big part in that.

Our reception at Riverside was beautiful, and the food was awesome. The venue is perfect, both inside and outside and we got fabulous pictures because of it. The service the day of the event was also very good. One thing that I think could be improved upon is the customer service leading up to the event. Our coordinator gave us a difficult time about some of the details we requested. For example: choice of color for flower petals, dressings for salads, seating arrangements. All of these were minor things that should have been easy to accommodate for us, but they were unwilling to. Other than that, the experience was exceptional! I would definitely recommend this venue!

Riverside has an amazing view of the damn/bridge on the Fox River. It's has a rustic outdoors feel to it when you are inside. The courtyard is amazing! There is a river walk for your guest to enjoy and take pictures. Food is wonderful. Not one of our guests didn't like what they were served. Cathy was wonderful to work with and answered my million questions in a timely fashion. Riverside was affordable and a beautiful venue for any wedding or event!

My husband and I picked Riverside for our ceremony and reception because it was the nicest place for the price. It has great views of the Fox River and the dam, which looked beautiful for the ceremony and for dinner. The entrance is beautiful too, with flowers everywhere and it's great for wedding photos. \r\rFrances was so helpful and made everything perfect for our wedding. All of the staff was wonderful. We couldn't have asked for a better day.\r\rThe food here is excellent too. They let you have a complimentary food tasting and you get to try about 6 or 7 entrees. It was hard to pick which ones to use because they were all great. All of our guests raved about the food. \r\rAll in all, it was a great venue and if I had to redo this, I would still go with here.

This venue is undeniably beautiful but the icing on the cake was an experienced, helpful staff. Riverside went above and beyond to create the wedding of my dreams. I was planning from Denver so I was amazed how willing they were to carve out time for me the few times I was able to be in town. Everyone was kind and attentive to me and my entire wedding party. My guests were all thrilled with their food and really loved the head table presentation. We felt that the Riverside staff worked well with other venues and handled any stress in a professional and proactive manner. I would recommend Riverside to absolutely anyone.

The venue is absolutely beautiful. I was looking for a place that had a rustic or brick look, a place that the pictures will have a beautiful background. We came to see this place and immediately I fell in love. They were so helpful with everything. They have two floors we chose the bottom floor because I liked the fact that there were different parts of the floor as opposed to the one large room. The bar room was open with extra seating and the room where we ate has brick floors and walls. We had our ceremony in the venue and it was lovely. They set up the chairs facing the wall that had trestles and candles against the brick wall. \r\rThe food was great, they accommodated the vegans at the wedding which was very awesome. We also got the cupcakes made there in their bakery, I had a friend who said they were some of the best cupcakes they have had. I got SO many compliments on the food. They said it was great food, and not great food for a buffet, but great food! They set up and broke down everything. \r\rLast but not least. The service was incredible. I was helped by Tina with everything from contracts to the day before. And (I believe her name was) Norma (kicking myself for my bad memory) helped me the day of with EVERYTHING! She helped me when I locked myself out of the bridal suite, helped with the vegan cake cup presentation, and she even helped with the precession. \r\rEverything was perfect, I couldn't ask for anything more honestly. I am so thankful for all the help I received and how well the entire thing turned out.

I am so happy that I chose Riverside for my reception site! I had always known of this venue and thought it was a pretty site and a good location. These two things continue to be true, but there is more to it than that. The food is really great, which is often unexpected at reception sites (not your typical wedding food). The staff is flexible and friendly and ran a really smooth event on the big day. The setting was absolutely beautiful, too. It was my perfect wedding reception.

The atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for, vintage, wine feeling and romatic. With a cocktail lounge and separate bar. We moved the ceremony inside due to the weather, it was romantic. The food was excellent and well as the service. They provided center pieces, cake and other items that I did not have to worry about, had the wedding downstairs, the place has alot of photo opps also.

They were attentive to the personal touches I wanted to put on my wedding. Jorge was there on the evening of the reception. They were extremely flexible with anything I wanted, included quoting me prices for my choice of late night snack and even offered to allow me to bring in from an outside vendor for no fee. Food and beverages were great. The service was outstanding. I had someone there to get me anything I wanted or needed throughout the night. The bridal suite was safe and secure with all gifts. Every tiny detail I wanted was set up ahead of time. They arranged all of the items I crafted and did a spectacular job. People raved about the beautiful non- traditional location. It made for great pictures. I can't imagine my day anywhere else!

This was my rehearsal dinner site, and I LOVED it. The room was beautiful, the staff were very helpful, especially with my many food limitations, and the food was delicious. Not to mention it was a very good price.

Our wedding ceremony was at Riverside on a Sunday morning, followed by a champagne brunch. Our event planner was patient and helpful, offering suggestions that were in keeping with the mood we wanted. It occasionally took a few days to get a return phone call or reply by e-mail but, despite this, we still give it 5 stars. The food was excellent and was one of the highlights of our wedding. The chefs and servers were friendly and personable, chatting with the guests as they were serving. Everyone was very impressed!

This place is absolutely beautiful! We had our wedding and reception here and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The coordinators were good (with the exception of one who made it seem like every little thing was a to-do). George was the best! The reception went off without a hitch because of him. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect evening! And everyone said the food was delicious (and I agreed)!

I loved working with Riverside Receptions. After reviewing many standard banquest halls, Riverside was the first one we visted and we booked with them the next day. You cant pass up their resonable pricing. What sold us was the cozy and personal feel you get from the place. I loved the brick dance floor and chiavari chairs on the first floor. And you cant beat the great view of the Fox Valley River at night. All of the coordinators were great to work with and more than accommodating with any special requests without making you pay for it. Everyone agreed the food was great and the service was splendid. Give this place serious consideration you are looking for something that doesnt have cheesey mirror decor and over priced twice baked potatos. BTW the include the cake and the place they get it from, The Cakery, is to die for. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!

The staff at Riverside was great to work with and their food was delicious. The view from their room upstairs is breathtaking. We had so many compliments. They were great with putting out all the things I left for the recpetion and ceremony. However, they forgot the table #'s for the reception. We had the ceremony outdoors in their courtyard. There was a mix up with the florist who left petals to go down the isles but those were never put out. Aside from that, it was truly the perfect spot. We had a minor change with the start time to which they were very accomodating. I was very pleased and overall our day was perfect!!
