This family-owned setting is nestled right along the Great South Bay, giving you and your loved ones a tranquil waterfront view. Its indoor and outdoor event spaces, mouthwatering cuisine, and attentive staff will work to turn your big day into an unforgettable celebration.
The Riviera Waterfront Mansion was originally built in 1926 by renowned architect Grosvenor Atterbury. It has since become a breathtaking landmark and an elegant setting for couples to exchange their vows. Your day will start at the luxurious get-ready suite, where you and your wedding party can prepare for the altar in style. You can then make your way to the breathtaking outdoor ceremony space, where a brick pathway leads to a large white gazebo. Your guests will be seated on the carefully manicured fields while the seaside views act as your altar's backdrop. After you exchange your vows, you'll be free to move inside for a sophisticated reception. Inside the mansion is a grand ballroom, where up to 350 guests can dine and dance under the vaulted ceiling and vintage lighting. Large floor-to-ceiling windows and exposed red brick surround the space to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. In addition, the doors lead to a spacious outside patio, where your guests can enjoy cocktails by the sunset.
The team at the Riviera Waterfront Mansion will work to give you an all-inclusive, stress-free planning experience. You will have exclusive access to the venue during your big day, giving you the freedom to create your big day from the ground up. The staff will provide you with their list of recommended vendors to complete your nuptial vision. From your hors d'oeuvres to your wedding cake, the catering team will make sure you and your guests are cared for throughout the night.
When we were planning our wedding, we knew we wanted it at the Riviera Waterfront Mansion, and we are so glad that we chose them for our wedding day! Irene and Tara were both fabulous to work with, and would be responsive to any and all inquiries from me (the bride) and my mom as well. The staff went above and beyond for my brother with special needs and everyone raved about the actual reception! The vendors that were recommended were also amazing - very professional and kind individuals. We cannot say enough good things about the Riviera! 5/5 stars Reviewed on 29-12-2023

My wife and I chose the Riviera Waterfront Mansion for our wedding in August of 2023. We only looked at two venues but the Riviera stood out right away because of its beautiful chalet-like banquet hall with lots of outdoor lighting and exposed brick. The place was even more beautiful on our wedding day. What stood out to me the most about the Riviera was the staff. Our assistants for the night, Megan and Maria, were absolutely fantastic. They always seemed to be around with a new drink, or to help with the brides dress or even to get some wine stains out of my shirt! They were fantastic and the rest of the staff from the people serving food to our bartenders were really attentive and fast with the requests - there were many nice touches including the staff setting up grab and go his/her cocktail drinks prior to the start of cocktail hour - which helped to keep the lines moving (this small touch is something i've never actually seen at other peoples weddings). What surprised me most about the staff is how it rained all day, the night of our wedding yet somehow by 530pm (when the rain had passed), every chair for the ceremony and the outdoor cocktail hour setup seemed completely dry as if the rain never happened at all. The attention to details, the efficiency, and the level of service we received was far far beyond the expectations either of us had. The Riviera recommended the band we used for the night and they were a huge hit as well. The acoustics are great and people danced all night.Weddings are crazy expensive but as a whole, we felt that we got great value for the cost as the staffs service was truly grade-A. Nobody was hungry. Everybody was happy. The Riviera is a great place and we have zero regrets about our choice. Reviewed on 08-11-2023

I have nothing but amazing things to say about the Riviera. When my husband and I were searching for venues, we stepped foot into the Riviera and knew it was the one. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, but the management (specifically Irene, who is truly so kind, fun and amazing) made everything so easy for us. Our wedding day was seamless and we have not one thing we can look back badly on. The food was amazing, our Maître d', Julie was phenomenal, our bridal attendant Maria was so sweet and attentive, the bartender Charlie was raved about, and the list goes on. The day was everything we hoped it would be and then some. I truly hope we get to come party at the Riviera again. Recommend 1000000%! Reviewed on 08-11-2023

It has been my dream to get married at The Riviera since I was 9 years old and I just had my dreams come true! I was a flower girl in my uncle’s wedding at The Riviera in 2000 and I’ve had my heart set on it ever since that beautiful June day. The venue is as gorgeous today as it was then, the food is delicious, the Viennese hour can’t be beat, I absolutely love the gazebo overlooking the water, their preferred vendors are excellent, and the staff treats your wedding day as though it is just as personally important to them. We worked mostly with Tara throughout the planning process and we all loved her so much. She is so down to earth, personable, accommodating, and helpful. We joked several times that she’s part of the family now. She really worked with us to make it a day we could afford without skimping on any details. We often brought both sets of parents with us to our meetings because we wanted them to be part of the excitement with us, and she treated everyone so wonderfully, involving them in the discussion and taking questions, thoughts, and opinions. As we got closer to the wedding we worked more with Irene (because Tara deserves a few days off!). She was so joyful and excited to walk me through the processes, and when I came to bring my decorations and extra items a few days in advance, she let me set up things exactly how I wanted them and then took a picture so she could recreate exactly what I envisioned. Irene was so warm and friendly and she made me feel like she cared about our wedding just as much as we did. Our maître d was Megan and she is just so cool and nice. She really knows how to command the attention of a group of people to make things efficient but also still fun! I immediately trusted that Megan had everything under control, and she absolutely did. I found myself saying multiple times \"Megan is really good at her job\". When we had our rehearsal dinner, there was a downpour across pretty much the entire island except at The Riviera (full sunshine!) and most of our bridal party was late. Megan never made us feel rushed when it came time to start and she filled the waiting time by asking questions about our vision for the day and taking notes. When everyone got there, she was able to efficiently take us through a rehearsal twice outside and once inside. On the day of our wedding she made everything run smoothly. I so enjoyed working with her! Our bridal attendant was Christina and – true to her title – she was SO attentive. She was kind and friendly and made sure my every need was met. She bustled my dress three times because I kept picking up and shaking it while I danced, she always made sure I had a glass of water (apparently weddings make me thirsty) and always asked if I wanted my favorite alcoholic drink too (prosecco). She and Megan also made sure my husband (!!) and I had a few minutes alone together during cocktail hour so we could eat and decompress from the ceremony. We really appreciated that! She and Megan also sent us home with LOTS of leftover food and goodies. I will be eating cake and cookies for days to come!I cannot recommend The Riviera more highly. They were so wonderful to work with through every single step of the process and they made all my wedding dreams come true. If you’re wondering “is it worth it?” the answer is YES. Not only did we fall in love with the beautiful venue but their staff was absolutely amazing, answering any and every question we had and making us feel as if we were not just another wedding they were fitting into a time slot.Another selling point for us: Almost all of their staff and management has been there for over 15 years. After we booked our date, we continued to receive amazing support with every phone call and email being answered within a 24hr period, something we very much appreciated. As the date fast approached, they were absolutely amazing with handling all of our special requests and extreme levels of detail (We knew we were \"High Maintenance\")We had FDNY Bagpipes for our entrance, heater deliveries, an Irish band at cocktail hour, special requests for setting up our bars and cigar stations, several changes to our seating and table arrangements, elderly that needed to be served drinks at the tables, the list goes on......The bottom line, we received THE ABSOLUTE BEST service, there was not one detail missed, the food was amazing, they treated all of our vendors and musicians amazingly. We are still getting calls and texts that our wedding was the best that anyone has been to. Seriously, as I am writing this review Saturday afternoon after a group of friends attended a sub-par wedding on Friday. 12 out of 10 - food, liquor, table service, speed of bartenders, ambiance, bridal attendant, Maitre d and management.Thank you so much for making our day amazing!!!!With Love,Tom and Lauren Reviewed on 03-12-2022

With Riviera you have someone on your side that can help you every step of the way. Irene and Tara were so helpful throughout the entire process. The day turned out beautifully. They are a well-oiled machine that makes the day flow easily and calmly. The grounds are beautiful and the staff were great to work with. So many guests complimented the food and were surprised with the abundance of it. They readily accommodated special requests that made our day unique and special. The venue itself is unique in that it has a beautiful, well-manicured outdoor panoramic water view for cocktail hour and ceremony, but then has a warm rustic feel inside with exposed wood beams and high ceilings. Just lovely!Unfortunately, we had an “officiant emergency” the night before the wedding. It had nothing to do with the Riviera, but I called Irene for help. She made it her mission to help us out so we were prepared for the next day. You find out the quality of the people you are dealing with when an emergency comes up. They went above and beyond. Kelli S(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-04-2022 Overall was happy how the day went. They do charge for every little thing so if you like this venue for all the beautiful photo ops, beware that to get the venue beforehand and utilize the grounds for pictures they charge extra. We got great discounts when we originally booked in 2019 but dealing with them once they reopened were different staff after covid and they are more sales focused rather than customer focused. The cost on the exit station we wanted went up without them telling us, they didn’t send us home with extra meals for the 3 people who had to cancel last minute and they changed the indoor ceremony option without notifiying us (which really upset me bc I didn’t find out til our final meeting but luckily the weather wound up being perfect). They charge a ridiculous amount for tip so do your own research rather than blindly following their recommended amount like we did.. The biggest disappointment of my day was they did mess up my ceremony so if you have your ceremony at the venue beware. I do not recommend doing your ceremony at them at all. I went over the details numerous times with Irene and Tara, even up to the day before I was on the phone with Irene talking about the sides and where I wanted my moms wheelchair to be set up to be right in front of me and yet they still managed to mess it up. At end of day I brushed it off only because we were already married so it wasn’t as important to be perfect but I am definitely annoyed at paying for my ceremony to be there when they really messed up the order and placement. My bridal attendant was great though, wish I remembered her name but such a sweetheart and was great with my bustle and always making sure I had a drink in hand. They set up all my decor exactly how I requested and were easy to communicate with during the past few months leading up to our day. We did receive a lot of great feedback from our guests as well on how everything was run and even about how great their waitstaff was. Reviewed on 20-06-2022

Marla Altberg(guest)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-08-2021 We had a wonderful experience at a wedding yesterday at the Riviera Waterfront Mansion in Massapequa. The garden ceremony was in a breathtaking setting on the waterfront, with the bride and groom under a canopy of pink and white roses. Then the guests were invited to a stellar cocktail hour on multi-level outdoor decks complete with a raw bar laden with shrimp, oysters, crab and lobster. If you wanted something other than shellfish, no problem—numerous pasta choices, carved meat, meatballs, eggplant rollatini, charcuterie, cheeses and so much more. Speedy bartenders helped us wash it all down with top-shelf libations like Ketel One and a wide variety of wine and beer selections too. We progressed to the indoor dining room for the dancing and dinner celebration to begin. My salmon entrée was perfectly cooked with an herb crust, very moist and flavorful. After dancing the night away, the dessert buffet was served featuring every kind of cake and pastry you could imagine, make your own sundaes and espresso drinks (spiked or not) to accompany them. Katie Bohack(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-05-2021 We just had our wedding yesterday and it was amazing! We were supposed to get married last year and had to postpone to this year so we worked with the front office quite a bit to reschedule everything and they were great - always calm yet still overtly excited for us and our big day. The day of was great! Our maitre’d Meg was so good. She was always smiling and making things run seamlessly without me even really knowing. She kept my (crazy) bridal party organized for the ceremony and grand entrance and helped me bustle my dress with no problem. Overall the service in general was great, all of the waiters/busboys would ask me if I needed anything and service flowed quickly. The food was really good and the dessert set-up was insane. I only have two negative comments -1) the Caesar salad was kind of lame. That’s one of my favorite things to eat so I asked for just that as the salad (no other appetizer course) and it honestly reminded me of the salad I used to get at my college dorm. (But seriously that was the only food that wasn’t great)2) make sure at your initial meeting you are very explicit about timing of your wedding and when you want to arrive. You can pay for an extra half hour at the venue for you and your bridal party to arrive early, which we wanted to do but later found out that we couldn’t because we didn’t make our start time late enough to give time between their midday wedding and our evening wedding. Not a huge deal, but just something to be mindful of when initially planning. Overall we loved the venue and our family and friends did too! Definitely have Tim’s Florist do the bistro lights - it totally makes the space. Reviewed on 24-05-2021

It was a crazy Nor’easter that day but that didn’t stop us or the amazing staff at the Riviera. I can’t say enough good things about Irene she rocked. We loved her and she made the whole experience better. She constantly told me to relax and not sweat the small stuff because in the end it is what it is. Which she was right. The crazy awful weather didn’t stop us from having the best day ever!!!!! Anyone who is thinking about The Riviera I would say go for it. It was a beautiful venue so rustic and warm. Christine Berg(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-04-2018 As soon as we got engaged, we immediately thought of the Riviera! They only do one wedding at a time and the grounds are absolutely beautiful (inside and out). They’ve even recently made some improvements (new ceilings, updated bridal suit, new staircase, etc) which made it even better. We did hit a few communication issues (the administration was in transition), however, IRENE and ELENA honored all of our wishes and were extremely accommodating. LENNY (our Maître d’) and DANIELLE (my bridal attendant) were both great! The service at the bar and in the dining room was wonderful. Our guests have been raving about the food and alcohol - in both quality and quantity - for months! Our pictures of our first look and the ceremony are stunning thanks to that gorgeous view! Gary Burke(parent)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-08-2018 With the exception of one bad encounter with the owner, who tried to price gouge me for asking her to honor a prior managers promise to have Woodford Reserve and Patron, our experience at the Riviera was fantastic. Elena was a joy to work with. Lenny, our M'aitre D, was on top of everything. He kept the staff moving like a fine engine and made sure every aspect of my daughter-in-law and wife's planning was carried out as planned. In addition the 3 bartenders were super. They remembered people and their drinks, were quick in getting people what they wanted, and were friendly and professional. I was the father of the groom, and they knew that, and i can tell you my glass never went dry. If they saw me walking past any of the bars they had set up, and my drink was low, they'd call me over and hand me a fresh Jameson on the rocks. Also, the food was excellent; not only the appetizers, but also the meal - which is highly unusual in most venues. Just so you know, the Pork Chop was crazy good. Some things to know. I tipped the bartenders really well before we even went outside for the ceremony and promised them I'd see them again if they did a great job. They did and I did. They deserved it.I tipped Lenny and his staff an hour before the affair ended. My feeling is that since part of his job is to split tips if I didn't give them till late he'd be able to concentrate on the party. He did. If you follow my lead be prepared to give these guys 20%. We were able to order burgers from All America to arrive at 11 P.M. Any one who is from Long Island knows All America is Massapequa. Our guests loved that it was thereThe negatives were, in addition to the owner who has no feel for people or how to make customers feel appreciated, -- 1) The wait staff takes drink orders but they are busy and cannot deliver them quickly. I had a few people complain about that. The answer to the problem is tell your guests the drink service is slow, so if it's important get up and go to the bar; 2) The shuttle bus was too slow going back to the hotel. They should offer the option of one bus half an hour before the ceremony ends, 2 when it is over, and one half an hour after it ends. We had too many people waiting; and 3) despite what the Riviera tells you the bar really doesn't carry Top Shelf. It's more like mezzanine shelf .All in all we had a great experience at the Riviera and would highly recommend it to any one. Reviewed on 14-08-2018
John Pappas(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-09-2019 My daughter's wedding was excellent! The food, service, and attention to detail were amazing! The manager Irene was nothing less than perfect! She was accommodating, professional and clearly explained all services to my family, including extras. Before the party, she explained the setup times and, since we were the final party of the evening, the EXTRA cost if the party ran late or we wanted more time, due to paying her help overtime. I clearly understood these instructions and happily paid the extra money for going one hour over, since we were having such a great time! I can't imagine anyone not understanding these costs and thinking they can \"get away with it\" , by staying later without paying( very low class and rude) ,but these people have a business to run! Carlene Faith(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-05-2018 It saddens me to have to write a 2 star review for my wedding. I got married here two weeks ago and I must say while this day was all I ever dreamed of, dealing with management at The Riviera nearly ruined it. I booked my wedding two years ago with the old management team who seemed nothing but helpful, sweet, and accommodating. Getting closer to the wedding I had not heard from The Riviera so I reached out to the banquet manager only to get no response. I called and called and finally heard that the person I had been working with was let go. I eventually came in to finalize all details with the new management and what a mistake that was. From the moment I met Irene, the new manager I was very upset with the way I was treated. They make it feel like they are a factory churning out weddings ignoring that for you, this is something you have looked forward to your whole life. They made me change my wedding time (6 months before the big day), refused to give me or my vendors enough time to set up or get ready there, made every request feel like a hassle, and honestly made me feel like a burden. They were hard to get in contact with, honestly just completely straight up rude.Getting closer to my big day, I had the pleasure of working with Elena, she was much sweeter and accommodating. She truly was great but it felt as though under the direction and supervision of Irene, there was only so much she could do to help and accommodate us. I really wish I could have only worked with Elena, I believe my experience would have been a lot better. The day of my wedding, everything started out amazingly. The place was breathtaking. The wait and bar staff unbeatable. My maitre d and bridal attendant were attentive and incredible. The food was really fantastic and I got so many compliments! Honestly, I was so happy with how the day was until the end. While my wedding was beginning to go over slightly in time, instead of politely coming in and wrapping things up, Irene was there to be rude yet again. She came in, UNPLUGGED my DJ which to be honest is truly unbelievable. They broke down my wedding in front of guests, told my vendors they had 30 minutes to be out, pulled a drink out of guest's hand, and quickly turned my perfect day sour. It was visible to every guest that something was wrong and while I know there was a wedding after mine, a few hours later, how could a place that you trust to make your wedding perfect, do this to you? If you can't handle two weddings in a day don't book them.If the management was better, this place would hands down be getting 5 stars. I know the place is gorgeous and honestly sells itself, but customer service is important in making this day as special as it is supposed to feel. Reviewed on 05-06-2018

The food, and I heard this too, was the absolute best! I totally recommend adding to the cocktail hour - our guests raved about the added carving stations, sushi bar, calamari and lamb especially and the filet mignon entree for our dinner option! The grounds were beautiful and my photos look amazing! Our guests loved the family feel and warmth of the wedding and said it was the BEST they've ever been to! The atmosphere at the Riviera is beyond warm, rustic and nostalgic with the fireplaces and beautiful balcony. It stole my heart, and my guest's hearts, how personal it is there- I loved that there wasn't another wedding going on at the same time. It was clean the whole night, and perfectly put together and decorated the way I asked! Staff were simply amazing, they answered all my questions- I called them so many times throughout the planning process to ask questions and they were always available and so incredibly helpful and understanding. I can't imagine anyone saying anything bad about the new staff, we seriously loved everyone, Paul, Irene, Elena etc and had so much fun through it all!! They even must have thought we didn't give a gratuity (my Dad had too much to drink and forgot to give them out that night) and I would have never known they were just so professional and warm and happy for us the whole time!! (We dropped it off the next day though!!!). If I could give any bride advice it would be to book their wedding/events here! Reviewed on 30-03-2018
Kristen Oricchio(wedding party)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-02-2018 It actually breaks my heart to leave a bad review for Riviera because it really is a gorgeous place and was the venue my fiancé and I booked for our wedding, before canceling with them and booking with another venue. However, I feel like I'm left no choice because of how I have been avoided like the plague from every single person here. Last February, my fiancé and I booked our March 2018 wedding. At first they seemed super excited to work with us and lead us to believe nothing less. After we left our deposit, it all changed. Getting a response from them was literally like trying to get a call back from my deceased grandmother. It would be weeks before a response. We were also informed that, in the event that we didn't like the food after the tasting, we could get our money back. And it states that on our signed contract. Well, sadly, we were extremely underwhelmed by the food. The tasting in general was poorly executed. If you're spending thousands upon thousands of dollars to host the most important day of your life, you should not be subjected to sharing it with hundreds of other people and get served leftover cold food from the earlier tasting. I reached out to our salesperson and informed her that we were not happy and wanted to cancel our wedding. Not a response from her for 3 weeks. And when she actually responded, she said she would have to pass this on to her boss who would be in touch with me. No one got in touch with myself or my fiancé. I reached out to her again and she said she was sorry she would have someone call me back immediately and nothing. A month went by and I emailed her and called and she, again, said someone would contact me back. Not a single response. At this point I just wanted my money back. I called and called and called and emailed and no responses. I finally gave up in July. In September I get an e-mail from some new person saying this: \"Good Afternoon Kristen, We have tried to contact you and Philip for some time now. Would you like to schedule an appointment to come in for your next payment for your wedding? If you have any questions please let us know. Thank you!\" Are you actually joking me? First off, not a single person had tried to reach out to either of us. I can understand if I didn't get one phone call, but multiple phone calls? Not a chance. And neither did my fiance. And if that was the case, why couldn't an e-mail just be extended to me. Better yet, why couldn't you just respond to the umpteen other emails I've been sending that had gone unanswered? The woman's name I spoke to was Elena, I believe. She said she was sorry to hear about this and that the woman I was working it was no longer with them and then went on to bash her to me, which I found incredibly unprofessional. I asked her about getting my money back, that I was promised. She said to put it in an e-mail and someone would get in touch with me. I did just that and surprise, surprise not a single response. I was in the process of hiring a lawyer and realized that they obviously need the $2,000 more than I do if they're willing to risk their reputation rather than give it back to us. So I decided to let the public know how truly disastrous my experience with them has been. No respect for people who work hard for their money. I wish I could say my experience was better, but that isn't the case. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone and I will never attend any event here. Reviewed on 23-02-2018

Courtney Patrick(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-08-2017 Our reception was stunning, the food was excellent and our bridal attendant made sure my husband and I ate. With that being said, on the evening of my wedding, the maître d’ pulled me aside to review my checklist, saying he wanted everything to be as I wanted because he “heard that I was difficult”. Months prior, My MOH and I attended a showcase at the Riviera where a preferred vendor took an $800 deposit for a service they do not provide. They refused to return the money after I found out that they did not really offer the service. I wrote a “buyer beware” review on Yelp, then was told that they would not refund my money unless I took down my negative review, which I did. Then they demanded that I draft a letter saying that I was “just confused”, and that I would never write a negative review about them or discuss my experiences with other brides. They also requested screenshots as proof. My family then reached out to the Riviera management to see if they could assist, after all, you would hope that they would take some responsibility for directing us to them in the first place. Unfortunately the Riviera management was rude and made many hostile comments regarding the status of my wedding should I not comply with the outrageous requests of this vendor. I believe that any reasonable person would find all of this upsetting. In their words “difficult”. I received feedback from my guests who all said the food and atmosphere were exceptional. However, many told me how rude our maître d’ was and that he was yelling at my guests and other staff members. In addition he was overheard saying “I hate my f-ing life” and “this is the worst group of people I’ve dealt with”, because my guests were not moving from room to room fast enough. Overall, I would recommend the Riviera if you are considering it for an event, but please be sure to research their vendors and don’t be afraid to question everything. Your vendors should not treat you as if they are doing you a favor. Reviewed on 26-09-2017

We got married here on 8-19-17 and the gardens were incredible and in full bloom. We had 153 guests and we were a perfect fit and had some room to spare before getting crowded. We had our cocktail hour outside and all of our guests RAVED about how delicious everything was. The details in the ballroom make this place spectacular! It has such a rustic charm and really does not need much decoration. Our guests were blown away by its natural beauty, not to mention the food was phenomenal. We also worked with their house vendors (Glenmar Studio for photo & video, Tims Florist, Variety DJ, Campbells Bakery) and could not have been happier with how everything turned out. By choosing the house vendors, you could see how comfortable everyone was working together and the entire day went off without a hitch. Nicole Berg(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-08-2017 I loved our venue from the first time we saw it and booked on the spot immediately. We were that couple that only saw one venue and booked, despite comments that we should keep looking. I'm happy, but not surprised to say that if we did this all again I would still book the Riviera without looking at other places. It's everything I wanted and more. My criteria for a venue was on the water and in Nassau county. The water front views the Riviera has a breathtaking, you can see the water even inside the venue from the tables. The staff at the Riviera were amazing, we booked with Brittany and were lucky enough to have her with us on our wedding day. She helped us plan everything from start to finish. She was also amazing on our wedding day ensuring everything we wanted was taken care of, she made sure we ate, that we always had our drink of choice in hand and that everything ran perfectly smooth. Our Maitre D was nonexistent, I saw him twice the entire night, he lined us up for our entrance and rolled our cake to the dance floor for cake cutting. He never introduced himself and I don't even know what his name was. Since we had Brittany running around doing everything for us we didn't mind and only noticed when it came time for tipping, all I'm going to say is their tips indicated the service we had from them, not the suggested amounts the venue told us. The Riviera also did our centerpiece, we picked white roses in a glass vase, which was small and elegant. We got amazing comments from our guests about the food, it was truly amazing, cocktail hour had a wide variety of everything and we didn't do any upgrades. Dinner food was amazing as well, they let us have something of everything on the menu so we truly got the feel for all the food. Between myself and my now husband (crazy to say lol) we have bad food allergies, between my gluten intolerance and his allergy to nuts especially peanuts they worked around it, they also catered to all of our Vegan guests so said the food they had was also amazing. The only thing I wish they would have asked us in advance was the ice cream flavors for the ice cream bar, which was something I didn't think about asking in advance because I would have preferred other flavors, but that's so minimal, just something I didn't think about that future Riviera brides may want to ask about. The Riviera did our wedding cake from Campbell Bakery, came out fantastic was delicious and the top was gluten free for me so I wouldn't miss out on the cake cutting and feeding. Our wedding at the Riviera was a dream come true and highly recommend it to future brides, it's affordable and truly amazing! Reviewed on 12-08-2017

Nicole Barash(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-05-2018 My reception was sunday 3/5/17. The venue is gorgeous, the food was fabulous and everyone had a blast. The serving staff, kitchen staff, and bridal attendant was totally awesome. That was the saving grace. As a bride from several states away, who had a very specific vision, and spent months hand crafting and designing all the details, I felt like the Maitre' D and banquet managers really dropped the ball. I felt like every person I tried to speak with rushed me off the phone and didn't care at all about me or my day. The guests were not directed to the cocktail hour and walked in on me taking photos in the banquet room. The maitre D', Paul, only even said hi to me to tell me that my candle centerpieces couldn't be lit, making me panic within the first hour of the party. I am so glad he agreed to light them when I said I bought dripless candles, but I told the banquet manager I spoke with, Michelle, that I had antique candle centerpieces, and brought all the stuff in early, and no one told me that I needed LEDs or encasing for them. I went in early to set up my centerpieces with my mother (and I am so glad I did). While there, the banquet manager definitely cared more about showing the place to others despite my wedding being that evening. I was told that the staff would set everything up, and I personally handed several hand made items to a banquet manager, Brittany, to set up for me while I got dressed before the party. My handmade masquerade mask favors got jammed into a corner where no one could see them. I later found my hand made guest book in a bag on a bench by the front door, never put out. The maitre D' never put on the lights for Viennese hour or told my dj to announce that it was even happening. Honestly, I really got the feeling that the banquet managers cared only enough to cash my check, and If they would have talked me about my plans for more than the 10 minutes it took to collect my money, I would have been a much happier bride. Really, your kitchen, bar, serving staff and attendants, were the only reason I was able to hand over the 4-7$ per person tip at the end. Reviewed on 17-03-2017

We were actually able to get married on a Saturday night, while every other venue we saw would have cost us almost double the amount of money we paid. Not only was it cheaper, but it was the most beautiful venue we saw both inside and out. Our favorite part was that it was different from a typical wedding venue. It had this amazing rustic feel, but was still classy and beautiful. The outside was breath taking, right on the water with beautiful foliage. Each of our guests were in awe at the amazing view. The staff was so helpful and friendly and we felt so comfortable the entire time we worked with them. We loved working with Michelle and Paul when we were planning our wedding. Lauren Lebowitz(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-05-2016 I wish there were more than 5 stars to give. The team at the Riviera made all of our wedding dreams come true. We found this gem on a whim and wanted to keep the best kept secret on Long Island to ourselves, but now that we had a fairytale wedding, we want to share it with the world. We worked with Michelle and Brittany to book and plan our big day. Any and all questions & requests we had were answers with spot on advice. They were a fun team to work with throughout the many months of planning. Michelle was incredibly responsive throughout the entire planning process and was a ton of fun to work with. Brittany was our bridal attendant on the day of our wedding and she was marvelous! She was always there when needed and helped our event run smoothly the entire time!Paul was our Maitre D and he took any possible worry away on the day before our wedding. When we went to drop off our decor, etc. he walked us through the venue to show my parents and gave us extra special attention. He did a flawless job coordinating with our musicians for timing of the day and even changed up the timing (per my request) on the fly when the party was rockin! Thanks Paul!!THESE 3 KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!And forget it - the place itself is GORGEOUS! It was the exact intimate chic vibe we wanted for our wedding. AND right on the water!! Even though we couldn't use the garden for our ceremony because of the weather, the indoor ceremony was the MOST ROMANTICAL SETTING I have ever seen! My husband and I were beyond thrilled! Also - big shout out to Meghan the bartender who always had a cherried champagne waiting on the bar for my groom and I anytime we were near by! AND we got great reviews from guests on how wonderful the waitstaff was! Thank you EVERYONE for our May 6th wedding! If you want a team to pay attention to your details and work with you every step of the way, AND put on a FABULOUS wedding at an affordable rate, my husband and I cannot recommend the Riviera MORE highly! <3 :) Reviewed on 31-05-2016
Amanda Politi(wedding party)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-10-2017 Met with a woman named Vicki when my fiancé and I went. And she made an appointment with us at 3pm. Couldn't get us out of there fast enough, rushed us out, went over the pricing, not even the menu, says \"any questions\" I said \"yes, are you going to show us around?\" She said \"yes...\" very curt. Showed us around for like 2 minutes. Pretty much said \"hope to see you soon, bye.\" If you're looking for business and you want people to use your venue, how do you treat possible clients like that? It was rude, and it actually made us NOT book there. Just for that. Because if they treat you like that before you even book, I can't imagine how they would treat you once you did... Ashley Propper(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-04-2016 The Riviera was a slam dunk every way you look at it. We chose it for a few reasons: it was beautiful (right on the water with a rustic interior - exposed brick, high ceilings), affordable, and a catering hall that would take care of all of the odds and ends for us. We worked with Brittany and Michelle during the planning stages - both were friendly and prompt at responding to emails. My one complaint is that they didn't reach out much (we had to remember when each of our pre-wedding payments were due, they didn't give any reminders), but that is a minor complaint. All pre-wedding planning went smoothly...\r\rAnd the wedding day itself blew us away! Our maitre d' was three steps ahead of us throughout the day: he knew what we needed and where we needed to be at every moment. Danielle, our bridal attendant, was off-the-charts amazing! She consistently checked in without overwhelming us, set up cocktail hour food in the bridal suite, gave us a platter of all our dinner foods to sample, and even bustled my dress when my MoH and I were stumped! Danielle also made sure the top layer of our cake was wrapped and sent home with us, a detail I would've been sad to have forgotten. The food was all phenomenal. Every time my drink was down on a table for more than a minute, a bartender gave me a full new one. Thanks to the staff at The Riviera, I was able to have a worry-free wedding day. I couldn't recommend it more highly! Reviewed on 28-04-2016
Christina O'Neill(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-11-2015 My wedding at The Riviera was beautiful! The food was great & the view is spectacular! One thing I was upset about, I was promised hot food from cocktail hour waiting for me & my husband in the bridal suite & nothing was there for us. My bridal attendant had to go downstairs & get us food. We did not get everything from cocktail hour. Also, any leftover cake & desserts were also promised to us to bring home & nothing was given. That's just something minor but in my opinion, if you promise someone something, you give it to them. All in all, it was a beautiful wedding! Reviewed on 14-12-2015

The scenery is better than most other Nassau County waterfront places because it is not hindered by any buildings, bridges or other structures. The food? Oh. My. God. My foodie family and friends RAVED about everything from cocktail hour to dessert. Paul was generous with his time, ideas, and reassurances. The other vendors he suggested were wonderful. I'd suggest using who he recommends because they all work well together and make it a seamless, magical day. My husband and I are not a traditional couple but come from traditional families. Jonathan Wise(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-07-2015 I had my wedding at the Riviera July 2015 and it was truly amazing! I saw the venue on a commercial and decided right then and there that was the place I would one day get married. Upon actually visiting the venue for the first time, I didn't waver from that thought. We booked right away. Some of the decor was outdated, but over the next year they finished renovations and everything was beautiful. Throughout the process the staff worked with us, until about a week before our wedding. We had booked a rehearsal the evening before which at the last minute had to be moved hours up because they suddenly booked a party. This would have been fine except our bridal party was coming from several different states and we had a restaurant booked already for dinner after. Not to mention I had asked to decorate the day before since it was a complete DIY wedding and could no longer do that. The day of our wedding was a bit of a disappointing start as well when the second I (the bride!) stepped out of the limo the man who I think is the owner stuck his head out the door and with a huge attitude said, \"Wow you're here awfully early,\" even though I cleared our arrival time with 3 different people. Then my parents had to pitch in to decorate since the staff came so close to the start time. With that said, the actual ceremony and reception went off without a hitch! My bridal attendant was super attentive, they offered us food and drinks at all times, the food was amazing and my guests are still raving about the beautiful view! One of the absolute best aspects was the fact that this is a one event only venue and you have use of the whole grounds. For all the money we spent (be sure the take the 20% \"administration fee\" into account when figuring out your budget!) I was a little upset at how hit or miss the staff could be, but in the end I'm thrilled with the way our wedding day turned out! Reviewed on 19-07-2015
Cindy Dzigas(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-06-2015 It was a BEAUTIFUL affair. I loved that we had the entire facility and no other wedding was going on. The only thing that I was NOT at all happy about was until my next to last payment was made was when they told me I could not show up until 45 minutes before the ceremony when they told me as well as all my other vendors and invitation lady to put 30 minutes earlier down. After arguements I was told I could come an hour before, I showed up an hour before and was told the bridal suite was not ready for me so I had to wait when guests were already starting to show up. They were very helpful with planning out all the small details. \r\rKeep in mind the room is smaller. We had 115 people and it was great, but once you get about 150-160 things will get cramped. \r\rThe food was fantastic! Everyone was raving about it. We missed our cocktail hour because we ran behind taking pictures, but everyone loved that too. We had gotten a sushi bar for the cocktail hour, and the staff was kind enough to bring us a full platter during our reception because we had missed it outside. It was delicious, looked like real sushi aside from some store bought stuff I have seen at other venues. \r\rThe bridal attendant was great and the maitre de kept everything running smooth. \r\rWe had our ceremony outside under the gazebo and ended up with beautiful pictures. \r\rWe can't wait to come back here for another wedding so we get to enjoy every bit of it! I could not be happier with the way the day turned out and the flawless service at the Riviera. We had Paul as our Matre' D and he was incredible. From catering to every detail requested in the pre-wedding set-up process, to creating a panic-free, calm environment on the day-of, our experience with Paul was truly a breeze. Since our wedding date, people have not stopped raving to us about the food (sooooo much and soooo delicious) and how absolutely gorgeous the venue is (outdoor ceremony in a gazebo on the great south bay, outdoor cocktail hour deck, big bay windows showing the beautiful view)! They have recently done renovations so a lot of the older, stuffy feel is gone but still leaving a rustic charm. Not only that, it is very affordable! Especially when looking at all of the over priced Long Island venues, and they only have one wedding at a time. Keep in mind, this venue is best for weddings of 150 or less. Kamala Salmon(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-09-2013 I had my wedding at the Riviera in Sept 2013 and I must say it was pretty damn good. The venue is gorgeous, especially the outside area where the ceremony takes place which is right on the water and the ballroom for the reception which has exposed brick and a great overhead lighting fixture. The front room areas could use some updating but it definitely has an old-school, rustic charm which we were looking for.\rFood: Our guests are still raving. I wish I could have tasted even more of it myself but you know how that goes, when you're a bride. I would ask the kitchen to box up a little of everything they served for you and your new hubby to take with you.\rDesserts: Amazing! I never even made it to the main dessert room but our cake from Campbell's (the bakery they use) was incredible. They made a custom purple velvet cake for us and it was amazing. The chocolate fountain and sundae bar were also a big hit.\rCustomer Service: Very hit and miss. If you can, I would ask for Mary or Vicki. Michelle has a style only a true New Yorker with a lot of patience can handle.\rThings to Note: Make sure your MC announces and re-announces when the dessert bar/room opens and that the bar is open.
