My fiance and I loved the vibe of Rixey the second it came into view as we were coming up the drive. It is not just a wedding venue, it has so much charm and the staff makes everything run so smooth you won't have to worry about a thing. I can't say enough good things about Isadora and team- do yourself a favor and go look at this place! So many of our guests (& we made them all drive from NJ) were so impressed and complimentary!

My fiance and I loved the vibe of Rixey the second it came into view as we were coming up the drive. Isadora, Grace, and the whole team from the bartenders to the extra sets of hands to have for help; they are all great and had zero hesitation to step in wherever they could, whenever they could. I could not have imagined my wedding going any better. They helped me live out my vision with minimal guidance. They have zero fear and are there for you and your partner from start to finish. You have absolutely nothing to worry about with them. You are in great hands. Not to mention how undeniably ourselves we could be there. Perfect place for LGBTQ+ and biracial couples. They guide you through the process from helping you make plans for the wedding to final implementation. The fact that you can book a wedding weekend, where everyone is onsite for rehearsal dinner and wedding day makes it that much more special. The owner and her team work tirelessly to ensure a perfect experience for the bride and groom and all attendees. My daughter is very picky and she could not be happier with how her wedding turned out. The setting is beautiful - there are indoor and outdoor options based on your needs. Booking Rixey Manor would make your entire wedding planning so much easier and definitely very pleasant. If I could give 1 million stars I would!

We were sold when we first laid eyes on the venue itself, but after meeting with Isadora, this team deserves to be in the pantheon of the all-time greatest wedding vendors. The Rixey team knocked it out of the park during our wedding weekend AND they were crucial resources throughout our planning process. Isadora and her team work hard to make each wedding unique and are super accomodating. They let couples use anything in their (quite extensive) decor collection and even coordinated a hot chocolate bar, blankets, and hand warmers for our unseasonably cold wedding. We really can't recommend them highly enough, especially as a queer, polyamorous couple having a jewish ceremony. If you're looking to have a personalized, homey feel for your big day and are considering Rixey Manor, book them ASAP!!

I was a guest at a wedding a few weeks ago. Isadora, Adam, and Grace were a god send on a hurricane weekend! They as team ensured that every aspect was taken care of when everything seemed to be falling apart at one point. They turned what was supposed to be an outside wedding into a beautiful wedding inside, you would have never known that there was a change. Isadora took charge and every aspect was covered. They had amazing suggestions for caterers including a donut truck for the morning after the wedding. The house is beautifully decorated and allows for ample room for guests. The down stairs couch is really comfy and a great place for a “surprise” guest. Should I ever get married (which would require a second date) Rixey Manor, Isadora and her team will be at the top of my list. Being in the food and beverage industry for 18 years myself, Isadora is a breathe of fresh air- she truly cares which a very rare thing in this industry anymore! Don’t think twice and hire them NOW.

Isadora made the day as amazing as possible; keeping everybody calm, planning every second of the day, taking the kids on bathroom trips during photos, etc. She was amazing and made the experience even better than imagined.

Our wedding at Rixey Manor was the most special weekend of our lives, and so much of that is thanks to Quaid and the rest of the venue staff who made it possible. They have dozens of amazing vendors to recommend who they’ve worked with extensively, making all of our venue-vendor interactions completely seamless. The venue itself is beautiful and was the perfect backdrop for the ceremony of our dreams. We loved that there were opportunities for guests (in our case, our wedding party and our dog/ringbearer) to stay together at the manor over the weekend. It’s rare to find a venue such as Rixey which offers you both complete flexibility and enough support to make all of the right choices for your wedding. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

Our wedding at Rixey Manor was the most special weekend of our lives, and so much of that is thanks to Quaid and the rest of the venue staff who made it possible. They have dozens of amazing vendors to recommend who they’ve worked with extensively, making all of our venue-vendor interactions completely seamless. The venue itself is beautiful and was the perfect backdrop for the ceremony of our dreams. We loved that there were opportunities for guests (in our case, our wedding party and our dog/ringbearer) to stay together at the manor over the weekend. It’s rare to find a venue such as Rixey which offers you both complete flexibility and enough support to make all of the right choices for your wedding. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

If you don’t get married at Rixey you aren’t doing it right! This venue not only is stunning but offers so many amenities and a contingency plan for everything! We had planned for an outdoor ceremony with cocktails on the roof but when the weather decided to flip, Isadora and her team created the most beautiful indoor ceremony in the gorgeous ballroom. Rixey was actually our first venue tour, and when we met Quaid we knew our wedding was in the best hands. We were looking for an LGBTQ+ friendly venue, and Rixey was more than that. Not only did our vision come to life, but we were super comfortable, and fell in love with the manor. It is absolutely stunning, tucked away from the busy world, while being completely accessible to guests. Quaid can transform Rixey into any wedding vision you have. He made our black tie event come to life. It was even more perfect than we imagined. We would not have had the wedding we did without Quaid. He has a go to for every wedding necessity! From our cake to the dress to the wedding favors, Quaid made sure every detail was the best it could be. The weekend of our wedding Quaid had every \"t\" crossed and every \"i\" dotted. Nothing was left out, every detail was attended to, and our friends and family had the best time. He even helped make sure our kids were taken care of when we needed a hand with a car seat issue! We had an elopement here, customer service was amazing, the owner was so nice and so helpful. I basically went in, not knowing what I was going to do. He took care of the important things (my walking down the isle music, the venue set up … etc) My family couldn’t stop tally about how kind everyone was! Weddings are stressful but I am so happy and so grateful I found this venue because they did everything to my our micro wedding/ elopement feel ahhmazing!! The venue, absolutely beautiful and not to mention it snowed the day prior but somehow by the time I was supposed to get married, all the snow had melted. Everything felt like a dream. Love the manor, omg.

We were guests at a wedding here in November and it was spectacular! The bride, groom and a few guests stayed at the venue Friday night which allowed us to attend that evening. We casually hung out as if it was our own home with our own personal barkeeper! We had access to the whole house and grounds which included the gorgeous manor (the tubs alone are enough to rent this space!), the views from the upper deck, a patio and fireplace and the cottage next door. We even got to feed the newborn calves with bottles! The staff are the most hospitable I have encountered as a guest, going above and beyond to make sure our visit was top knotch. Saturday we enjoyed food trucks outside, fire pit out back, casino tables throughout the house and even caricature artists in the parlor. It is definitely a venue perfect for a casual event or a fancy affair. Even without being the bride and groom, I could tell how easy the venue staff was to work with and how prepared they were to take every bit of stress away from the couple on their big day. Highly recommend!

When our wedding weekend finally arrived, Quaid and the Rixey staff put on a flawless series of events. From rehearsal dinner to the actual wedding, Quaid had everything running smoothly. My husband and I booked Rixey long before our 2020 wedding date, and as COVID happened, they were with us every step of the way updating us with the latest procedures and helping us think through what the best decision was for our families and circumstances. When we ultimately decided to postpone our date to 2021, we received unending support and encouragement. The big day finally arrived in 2021, and it was PERFECT, again due to the amazing Rixey staff. Quaid helped keep all of our details and timeline organized and running smoothly; Grace and Mary helped find me gluten free food for breakfast when I forgot it at home, and even our bartenders helped flip the ballroom and pitched in wherever needed. My husband and I are so incredibly grateful to the entire Rixey staff for everything they’ve done for us over our (very extended) wedding planning and the ups and downs of COVID. We would get married at Rixey again in a heartbeat.

I sent an email reaching out to see if the Rixey Manor was available, knowing full well it was a huge long shot. Within hours of my email Mary reached out to me telling me not only could Rixey Manor accommodate us they were also going to put together a special package with many vendors included to help us make our day as perfect as possible! So sitting on my couch in Oregon, I booked it, sight unseen! And crossed my fingers! When we arrived in Virginia, Mary invited us to tour the manor so we could pick out ceremony locations and talk final details. When we arrived my husband and I couldn’t have been more excited, the venue was everything we had hoped and MORE! Mary was helpful, warm, welcoming and so knowledgeable! She made us feel like we had been planning this micro-wedding for months. All the details were planned out and everything was ready for our day! On our wedding day we arrived early, to be welcomed by Mary and her sweet daughter! They helped us with all the last minute things we needed to get ready; flowers, drinks, seating, speakers, etc. they made everything so easy and stress free. Mary officiated our ceremony and her daughter was kind enough to play our music and record our vows! Everything about our day was perfect, in large part due to the help of Rixey Manor and the phenomenal staff. I couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful venue and wedding day! We love, love, love Rixey Manor and would recommend it to anyone and everyone! We are still swooning over our photos at the manor months later! Everything was well organized, and I felt so relaxed during everything because I knew I could trust the team to have everything running. I truly can’t say enough about how wonderful this place and staff was. Service crews were so friendly and helpful. Bartenders were fun, friendly and fast. Mary and her staff were total professionals and extremely helpful. Thank you all for making this a truly memorable experience for everyone that attended all the weekend events. Five stars! Rixey Manor was the absolute perfect wedding venue for me and my husband. Yes the location and house and landscapes are amazing, but it's the people that work there that make your dreams come true. Mary, Grace, Ben, Isadora, and the rest of the staff made sure that the weekend was perfect and we were not worrying about anything. We met with them multiple times over the year before the wedding and they were always willing to set aside time to answer our questions and provide guidance. Their experience is invaluable, thinking of every little thing you don't know you don't know and making sure you are ready. It truly felt like we were working with family and we know we made lifelong friends in the process. Simply put, they are all amazing human being who have the most beautiful venue and ensure the day is 100% reflective of the couple and what they want out of their weekend. The 3 day experience and having close family and friends staying on site is invaluable and really lets you take everything in and experience special moments around the actual wedding. We cannot recommend this amazing group of people enough (we went to a wedding there a year prior and fell in love and never considered another venue after experiencing it as a guest).

The planning process was very well organized. They have weddings down to a science, but are flexible in allowing couples to express themselves. As many before me have mentioned, their Facebook group connecting past and future couples was an indispensable tool, and so was their handbook and bootcamp. They are truly invested in their couples. No other vendor went to such lengths to make us happy. Even the bartenders did more than serve drinks, they kept our guests entertained as well. You just don’t get an experience like this anywhere else. They offer so many things other venues just do not, and their personal, caring approach sets them apart from the rest.

They have made something so special to my family into something that some many couples get to call special too. First off the pure beauty of the house, it has so much character to it and you can feel the magic in every room. Second, Ben, Dora, Mary and all the Rixey helpers go above and beyond. And I mean above and beyond. They have an awesome team who make sure everything runs smoothly. You can feel how invested they are into making sure your day is perfect. I could not have asked for a more perfect venue. Ben and Isadora have worked tirelessly to create and maintain and beautiful and picturesque experience for their brides and grooms. I absolutely cannot put into words how impressed my (now) husband, family, and myself are with Isadora and Ben, the owners of Rixey Manor. Besides how beautiful the house is, the property/land it sits on and the scenic views all around it, Isadora and Ben provide and take care of so much of the stuff for you that you normally have to tackle yourself. They have a really unique system where you can choose your own vendors, but they also have a list that they recommend based on their experience, and let me tell you, that list saved us so much planning. most of the vendors we chose were who they recommended, and they were all incredible! Besides the logistics and the fact that their system is super inclusive and takes care of an abundance of planning you would normally be left to tackle on your own (with other venues), Isadora and Ben are the most wonderful people. By the day of the wedding and even before, it felt like we were talking to family each time we spoke with them (and I called a lot because I was getting so overwhelmed with planning, and Isadora was patient and extremely helpful every time, and she always welcomed the questions and actually made me feel comfortable everytime I called). I could write a book on how wonderful these two are, and how happy I am that we decided to have our wedding at their incredible venue. I highly highly highly recommend having your wedding here. I'm still in awe of how happy I was that day, and Isadora and Ben played a huge role in helping us and our family to make things happen as beautifully as they did.

The mountain views, architecture, history, animal friendly venue we're all things we were looking for, but the icing on the cake? Ben and Isadora. They were the people we didn't know we wanted or needed but we are so happy to have had them throughout the entire wedding planning process. They are there for every step of the way from confusion over how to fill out a day of spreadsheet to general wedding planning meltdowns, Ben and Isadora are there for you. There is no other venue in Virginia that compares to Rixey; it's as traditional Virginia as it gets. My husband and I are so happy to be part of the Rixey family!

My husband and I had the absolute best wedding experience EVER!!! The owners, Isadora and ben, were so amazing to work with. They were extremely responsive prior to the wedding and gave the best advice. They had a list of vendors that they often work with and that is who we used. The wedding was flawless as all the vendors knew each other and knew Rixey Manor. It was beautiful beyond words and friends and family said It was the best wedding they had been too. Could not say enough great things about Isadora, ben , and our wedding venue, we wish we could live it all over again!

We loved everything about our wedding at Rixey Manor. The venue itself is BEAUTIFUL- no matter where you were the views were amazing, and the inside was decorated perfectly. But to be honest, there are plenty of wedding venues that are beautifully decorated in nice locations. What makes a Rixey wedding so incredible is Ben & Isadora. We would have been so lost without them- they were truly so helpful! From the initial walk-through, to “Bridal Bootcamp” (yup, they teach you all the random wedding things that for some reason brides and grooms are expected to know), to wedding preparations to the wedding weekend, they’re helping you out the whole way and they really seem to love doing it! It also didn’t hurt that you have the venue for the entire weekend, with the option to rent the guest house, too, and you’re not stuck to certain vendors like you would be at some other venues (though Rixey does provide suggestions and the suggested vendors we used were great! No issues). Anyway, if you’re on the fence, go check it out. You’ll fall in love with the place (and the owners)!

They go out of the way to create a personal relationship with you, and they make you feel like a friend and not just a client. When you book with Rixey, not only do you get a reception venue, ceremony venue, and rehearsal space, but you also gain wedding planning resources, access to decor from previous weddings (there is a whole shed of stuff), on-site lodging for you and your wedding parties or some family, and AMAZING day-of coordinators (which could easily be worth thousands of dollars).When you book with Rixey, you join a community of future and past couples, and can leverage the community to answer questions about vendors, timelines, dessert ideas, and everything else you can think of. Another big thing to note is that we were planning this wedding from a state across the country, and took advantage of their recommended vendors which made the entire planning process much smoother because they handled some of the communications.Our biggest positive note: our number one priority was to have a relaxing yet exciting weekend with family and friends, and Rixey gave us the freedom to do that. Almost all of our guests had to travel from out of town so it was important that the venue have a flexible schedule, so that they didn't start cleaning up or try to rush us when our guests were still there. Our only criticism: we used all the rooms at the manor for our parents and wedding party, but unfortunately there is only one shower (albeit many baths) between the main house and the Groom's cottage. That made timing of getting ready a little more challenging, but it was still doable. We would suggest they add a shower to the Groom's cottage for a future off-season project, but realize that others might not care about that.We loved our experience with Rixey and received nothing but compliments from our guests about their experience at the venue and interactions with the owners. Rixey Manor was our dream wedding location. When we started looking at venues, we immediately knew Rixey was the place for us. Ben and Isadora were super helpful during our introduction visit, asking us questions we hadn't even thought of to help us pick the perfect vendors. As we all know, this summer was super rainy, and I was pretty disappointed we wouldn't get the view we wanted for the ceremony. Ben and Isadora were very willing to work with my vision and make it happen - we got married on the porch and got the dream views we were hoping! Planning was super smooth with them and the day of was flawless. We loved having the place for the whole weekend. It helped us spend way more quality time with all of our guests. We'd definitely recommend Rixey to anyone!

After exploring a number of other venues in the area, it was refreshing to meet with owners that truly give you their full attention and take the time to understand your vision for the wedding. We came away from our first appointment with a full list of vendor recommendations (many of whom were present on our special day) and excited to secure a date, rather than dreading putting down a deposit. Ben and Isadora went above and beyond throughout the planning process, from putting us in touch with vendors to providing templates and tools to help me stay organized. They even host a “Bridal Bootcamp” at the beginning of each year where former brides and grooms gather to share tips and tricks for making the most of your special day.When it came to the actual wedding weekend, Isadora not only ran an effective ceremony rehearsal for us, she woke up at 1:00 a.m. the day before the wedding (!!) to check in on my not-feeling-so great fiancé. When the catering company made some missteps early on, Ben was in the kitchen making sure the rest of the night went smoothly. When my dress bustle was preventing me from enjoying the reception to the fullest, Isadora pulled out a beautiful WHOLE NEW BACKUP WEDDING DRESS for me to wear. I really cannot say enough positive things about Rixey Manor. I am so glad we drove a little bit further from Washington, DC to visit on that first day. My parents and my guests have told me that Rixey has a magical quality to it, and it’s true. It’s what happens when you pair a beautiful setting with compassionate, dedicated, honest, and extremely proficient people. Thank you for helping me have the best first day of my life with my husband.

Isadora and Ben are nothing but amazing. They helped make my dreams come dream. Rixey Manor itself is a gorgeous venue. It was so nice being able to stay there the whole weekend and not have to go anywhere for the rehearsal dinner or brunch the morning after. I also loved that we had the freedom to plan our weekend how we wanted. We got married Friday, December 22, 2017 which isn't the norm, but they were totally fine with us deciding on Thursday-Saturday because of Christmas. Our wedding was a dream come true and I truly believe it was because of Isador, Ben, and Rixey.

Best experience of my life. When guests say they love the place and want to have a wedding like yours that says a lot. In all truth the manor is nice but the true thing you are paying for over your weekend at the manor is Ben and Isadora. We fell in love with them when we visited and I could not have been happier with my choice. Ben and Isadora are the wedding coordinators as well as own the manor. We were very unfamiliar with how to make a wedding work and they walked us through every step, helped us find vendors that were right for us. During the weekend of the wedding Isadora was sick and Ben did a fantastic job of running our rehearsal and welcome party with about 80 guests. Isadora popped in during our wedding day even though she wasn’t feeling well and kept the day together at the seams. She was honestly probably much sicker than she was letting on and that goes to show their dedication to their brides and grooms. On the day of my wedding my caterer completely forgot to provide table clothes and I didn’t realize it in the wedding contract. Isadora solved the problem on the fly to the best of her ability. She found an easy and cost effective way and most importantly she didn’t let me know a thing was wrong, with the help of my family and Isadora the crisis was averted and not a beat was skipped that day. Overall the day went off without a hitch and it was all thanks to Ben and Isadora. Another thing to be noted is that when you have your wedding at Rixey Manor you join such a genuine and sincere family.

My daughter and her fiance' wanted get married in Virginia so that all our family could make it to the wedding. They were looking for a certain place that offered beauty, charm, freedom, flexibility, and uniqueness. They found it in Rixey! The venue is beautiful but not ostentatious; it is at once charming and cozy, and yet so elegant. I felt at home the minute I crossed the threshold into the lovingly restored old manor house. We never felt like we were being handled at a business. We felt we were house guests who were having a huge party, and that Isadora had all the answers and solutions that we were looking for. Not only can the bride and groom stay in the manor, but their wedding party also -- from the many nicely appointed bedrooms in the house to the grooms cottage next door, there is plenty of room for all, it lends itself to more bridal party bonding and closeness for the special day.Isadora and Ben are welcoming, experienced, intuitive and so very flexible. I would say this is the place where every couple truly knows their event is uniquely \"them\". We visited so many venues before seeing Rixey -- at the other places, we felt restricted and lost. With Rixey, what you see is what you get -- from the sparkly chandeliers in the ballroom, to the lovely urns that hold the floral arrangements, to the the beautiful front lawn setting, to the beautiful deck, and now the stunning back patio -- it is all part of the package. The rustic bar inside the house is a fun and completely unique, also, and lends itself to being a great photo booth and gathering area. Isadora and Ben did a phenomenal job at making sure the couple's vision came to fruition...offering their expertise and support every step of the way without being overbearing or making them fit into a mold. From help with vendors to timelines and orchestrating the schedule, to fixes for last minute glitches, they were absolutely, truly amazing. Rixey is charmingly unique, yet gave us the elegance and charm that our guests are still saying, \"BEST WEDDING EVER!\". We had the most wonderful wedding experience here. I will forever have a special spot in my heart for nto only the place, but especially for Isadora and Ben, for making it all happen so seamlessly.

There aren’t words I can gather at how amazing this place and Isadora and Ben were. Perfect place and people made the perfect day. From the minute we met them to now, we knew Rixey Manor was it and we made the right choice. Guests loved everything about it and so did we! They went with the curve balls and we literally wanted and worried for nothing the day of. It’s a magical place.

There aren’t words I can gather at how amazing this place and Isadora and Ben were. Perfect place and people made the perfect day. From the minute we met them to now, we knew Rixey Manor was it and we made the right choice. Guests loved everything about it and so did we! They went with the curve balls and we literally wanted and worried for nothing the day of. It’s a magical place.

When I was looking for a wedding venue, I had something completely different in mind. However, my mom sent me Rixey Manor anyway. I was taken with the property just from the photos on the website. The photos, were nothing compared to the actual beauty of the property when I arrived for my tour. The grounds were meticulously manicured and the views were unbelievable. This however, is nothing in comparison to the personalities of Ben and Isadora, the owners of the property. Ben and Isadora were invaluable throughout the planning of the wedding. They were prompt in response and offered wonderful vendor recommendations. Their supply room was of great use, particularly when my cake was dropped on the day of the wedding. Isadora and Ben are seemingly prepared for everything, and they ensured that our entire day went off without a hitch. I couldn't have been more pleased with the venue and the wonderful Ben and Isadora. Those two are worth their weight in gold. I am so thankful to have had such a beautiful venue and a wonderful wedding day. The day and the venue were an absolute dream come true!

The Manor has so much historic charm as well as the feeling of absolute coziness​ that I felt brought comfort to a time that can be so very stressful! I LOVED the fact that we had Rixey exclusively for our use all weekend. We had almost all of our guests come from out of town, so it was an amazing venue to have everyone gather for multiple events together over the weekend. I also loved the fact that they had indoor and outdoor options for the ceremony/reception. The scenery around the Manor is breathtaking, and I don't even know where to begin about the amazing couple that makes every wedding run so flawlessly! Isadora and Ben are incredible people who live life doing what they love and it shows in their true dedication to making their couples over the moon happy. They always have an open door and are very quick with responses. They give the best recommendations for vendors along the way, but are also accepting of outside vendors too. We went with all of their recommendations for our wedding vendors and I couldn't imagine a more perfect day! From the planning process, to booking vendors, to timeline prep, and every other little (and big) things along the way, they are so knowledgeable about EVERYTHING wedding related, and they know exactly how to handle every situation that comes about and answer every question. They come up with quick solutions when something on the day of doesn't go as planned (like when it started pouring as soon as the guests were taking their seats and everyone had to run onto the front porch, so we opened the bar and everyone grabbed a drink while we waited for the rain to stop), make light of the situation, and keep everything else going on track. I could go on and on about absolutely incredible our wedding experience was at Rixey Manor, but to sum everything up, we loved Ben and Isadora, we loved Rixey Manor, and if we had to do it all over, we wouldn't change a thing! No one would ever go wrong booking Rixey Manor as their wedding venue and with the guidance and help from Ben and Isadora, there is no doubt every couple will have the wedding of their dreams!

You should 100% book your wedding at Rixey Manor. My fiance and I could not be more positive about our experience this Memorial Day weekend. Owners Isadora and Ben will make sure that your wedding is excellent - from hosting a Facebook group where couples can share information about vendors, to providing a guide on how to prepare, to helping with the seemingly thousands of small details that go into a great party, to being great with family and friends who descended on the Manor for two days. They are also all-in to help if something goes wrong, which for us turned out to be really important. Our caterer (brought in from DC, who they had not recommended) turned out to be terrible to work with and hapless on the day of our wedding, but Isadora and Ben went through lists of catering rentals and food estimates with us to make sure we were getting what we paid for in the week leading up to the wedding. On the day of our reception, she and Ben literally did some of the caterers' jobs for them, fixing their food issues and resetting tables so that they looked like what we had envisioned. It turned what otherwise would have been a sad situation into one where no one even noticed that there had been a glitch. Rarely do you meet people who are so good at their jobs, and are also so fun to work with. Of course, the Manor is also lovely, with plenty of space indoors and outdoors for wedding guests. It rained a bit at our rehearsal dinner and on our wedding day, but there was plenty of space for 100+ people under the portico and in the house. The views are lovely from the front of the house and the back, so you will get great photos.If you want a beautiful, relaxed, classic Virginia setting where your friends and family will feel comfortable and special celebrating with you, Rixey Manor is it.

As an event planner myself, I wanted to make sure I found a venue that allowed for my custom wedding but was laid back! Rixey Manor is beautiful, has the charm of the VA Countryside, and the sunset is breathtaking. From start to finish, it was perfect and it is all thanks to Ben and Isadora! It's taken me some time to sit down and write this review, only because I don't think there are enough words to describe how awesome this venue is. The top reasons, without a doubt, are the owners, Isadora & Ben. Isadora & Ben sold the place for my husband and me. They made us feel comfortable, understood, and most of all, excited! Everything was taken care of for us; they went above and beyond to make us feel at home at their venue and I really don't think I could thank them enough!The house and the grounds are absolutely stunning and Isadora & Ben run the weddings like a fine oiled machine. Everything was organized and as a bride, I didn't have to worry about anything! They turned my dream of a big bad dance party into a wedding and I'll never be happier. The weekend of the wedding, Rixey lost power but Isadora called me with a plan B and made me feel relaxed and ready. Everything ended up working out, despite my dog attacking one of their ducks (omg I am still so sorry), and it was the best weekend of my life!To Isadora & Ben - thank you for all that you do for the couples that celebrate their love here!!! It truly makes it an exceptional venue, one of the best!!!!

Rixey Manor was a fantastic place to get married. The owners Ben and Isadora are a significant part of why this is so. Firstly, they served as a point of contact throughout our wedding planning process; they were easy to get in touch with and\talways willing to lend a hand. They clearly had a lot of experience planning prior weddings at Rixey Manor and were able to guide us through what has worked there before and what hasn't; for example, they knew our number of guests would fit comfortably in the dining room despite us thinking otherwise, and suggested table layouts that accommodated that number of guests. They helped us formulate a timeline for how things would run on the day of, and coordinated the wedding day, including everything from ensuring that all involved were in the right place at the right time to checking that vendors were on schedule. Throughout the whole process they were really friendly and helpful; it was so nice to have a steady hand guiding us through what could've been a much more stressful process.The venue itself is beautiful; it has both historical charm and wonderful surrounding landscape. It was particularly nice that the standard pacakge includes getting the venue for the entire weekend. This made the rehearsal, setup,\tand teardown much less stressful and gave us some more time to relax with the bridesmaids and groomsmen, who were mostly able to stay at the venue with us.\tOverall, I think you would be hard-pressed to find a better place to get married.

Rixey Manor is an absolutely beautiful wedding venue. My husband and I saw Rixey for the first time on a very rainy, foggy day in January, yet the beauty still shined through and we knew it was the perfect place for our Fall 2017 wedding! My husband and I just got married at Rixey this past weekend and I'm not sure where to even begin with how amazing an experience it was. I'll start with Ben and Isadora, the owners, because they are 90% of what makes this place so special for a wedding. They make every effort to connect with each couple, to understand what will make our wedding special and how to best support us. They're total pros in this business--from coordinating every last detail, to reading facial expressions and pushing me to really understand how I feel about a decision (what my gut was telling me when I was trying to consider other people's opinions over my own). They serve as day of coordinators and even made breakfast for those staying in the manor. They wanted to make us feel our absolute best on our wedding day and they succeeded. They got our quirky, goofy side and helped us embrace it -- like how we wanted to incorporate a photo of our dog into the ceremony, or wear onesies instead of robes for getting ready. They've created a Facebook group where past and future couples can share advice--it is an amazing tool and community to use. They call Brides and Grooms part of the Rixey family, and that's what they feel like now. We connected with them so well and while we don't live back in Virginia, I hope we'll see them again! Now the manor itself: It is beautiful and on a beautiful piece of land. Part of what I wanted most out of the venue was being able to have people stay with us there for the weekend. We didn't have to rush out, or worry about going back to a hotel. We had the whole manor from Friday to Sunday early afternoon. Getting to sneak in a few private moments (or with their dog, Snitch) around sunrise was wonderful. The wedding was everything we hoped for and more. I would recommend this venue 100%!

Both Isadora and Ben, the owners, made us feel like family from the start. They listened to us, spent time to understand our desires, dreams, and concerns, and offered helpful advice, ideas, and vendor recommendations. We knew we wanted to get married at Rixey Manor because it's elegant, charming, rich with history, and it feels like home. Plus, you have the gorgeous views all around. You get class and country all in one place. It’s a perfectly balanced atmosphere. Plus, it’s beautiful on its own, where you don’t need to decorate much if you don’t want to. It's easy to customize to your style. Isadora and Ben are also a huge reason we decided to choose Rixey Manor as our venue. I could never say enough about how incredible this power couple is. They are amazing individuals, and they just GET IT. They know what they’re doing, and they’re passionate about it. You can tell that they love people, and love what they do. Believe me when I say, you can absolutely trust them with your big day. They put their all into the manor and the weddings they host there. WE LOVE THEM. Wedding planning was a pretty stressful thing for me, but Isadora was so helpful with the network of vendors she recommended. It made the rest of my planning so much easier. Everything you could possibly need, she can connect you with. Anytime I would let the stress get to me too much, Ben and Isadora would talk me down from it. They are caring and understanding, and will still be real and firm with you when it’s needed. On another note, I love that you can have the venue for the weekend! My bridesmaids stayed with me at the manor the night before the big day. All the rooms are beautiful; we had a blast! My wedding day started off wonderful, because Isadora and Ben made breakfast for us. I loved how we eased into the big day. Isadora kept close watch of the timeline and with the help of Ben, coordinated the wedding party and all the vendors. She would check on me periodically to see how I was doing, which helped keep me sane. I never had to worry about a thing. She was sure to always check with me first if any changes were required, and kept things running smoothly. Even when there was a mix-up with our timeline and what timeline some of the vendors had, she took care of it immediately. You wouldn’t have known there was a problem. I wasn’t the most organized with the wedding, but she was like the glue that held it all together. She made it not only work, but come together into a beautiful wedding. I absolutely love Rixey Manor, and LOVE Isadora and Ben. I recommend this venue to anyone, because whatever theme, style, or type of wedding you’re having, you will have the best wedding and experience here.

Believe me when I say, you can absolutely trust them with your big day. They put their all into the manor and the weddings they host there. WE LOVE THEM. Wedding planning was a pretty stressful thing for me, but Isadora was so helpful with the network of vendors she recommended. It made the rest of my planning so much easier. Everything you could possibly need, she can connect you with. Anytime I would let the stress get to me too much, Ben and Isadora would talk me down from it. They are caring and understanding, and will still be real and firm with you when it’s needed. On another note, I love that you can have the venue for the weekend! My bridesmaids stayed with me at the manor the night before the big day. All the rooms are beautiful; we had a blast! My wedding day started off wonderful, because Isadora and Ben made breakfast for us. I loved how we eased into the big day. Isadora kept close watch of the timeline and with the help of Ben, coordinated the wedding party and all the vendors. She would check on me periodically to see how I was doing, which helped keep me sane. I never had to worry about a thing. She was sure to always check with me first if any changes were required, and kept things running smoothly. Even when there was a mix-up with our timeline and what timeline some of the vendors had, she took care of it immediately. You wouldn’t have known there was a problem. I wasn’t the most organized with the wedding, but she was like the glue that held it all together. She made it not only work, but come together into a beautiful wedding. I absolutely love Rixey Manor, and LOVE Isadora and Ben. I recommend this venue to anyone, because whatever theme, style, or type of wedding you’re having, you will have the best wedding and experience here.

Rixey Manor is an absolutely amazing venue! Ben and Isadora are an amazing team and extremely helpful! They are just a treasure trove of knowledge and had some wonderful suggestions to help make our day better! They went above and beyond on our wedding day, making it run so smoothly, that our timeline was even ahead of schedule! They handled everything with such grace (including when a guest who had not RSVPed showed up right before the ceremony) that I didn’t even know there was a hiccup until after! Our wedding was nothing short of a dream come true thanks to Ben and Isadora. I would recommend Rixey Manor any day! Ben and Isadora did a phenomenal job making sure that everything went as planned. If anyone were to ask me about what is essential and needed for a successful wedding day, I'd simply say \"Isadora and Ben.\" They helped me plan, never steered me wrong, kept me calm and helped our day flow perfectly. All of their vendor recommendations are excellent. They captured my vision for the day exactly. They helped me execute every detail and idea that I wanted. They made our wedding day what it was. We had a lot of family travel from overseas to our wedding and everyone left absolutely stunned by the beauty and uniqueness of the manor. We were even able to include our new fur baby (8month old collie lab mix) in on the weekend and Isadora helped looked after him as well. I feel extremely lucky to have had the opportunity of being married at Rixey Manor and promise that you will not regret the decision to do so as well.

We tailored our packed wedding (the busiest at Rixey) to include a horse drawn carriage, a lion dance, a tea ceremony, and an ice cream truck! Every moment was filled with events, and Isadora helped me plan all the logistics! A majority of our guests said the wedding was epic, even family members who are impossible to please! Isadora will also make sure you have the perfect wedding (for you and your fiance, not anyone else), and she even volunteers to be the \"bad guy\" if family members ask why rules have been made (ie. not allowing kids to the reception, etc). Ben ensures that their business is always innovating with the brand new groomsmen house and they're working on other great things too now, like their online guide of FAQ's! I almost wish I could get married again there since this already stellar venue is still constantly improving! Ben and Isadora (B&I) are also super practical, providing an inventory of wedding items left by past brides (I used quite a few things for my own wedding, and left much of my own things behind for future Rixey brides!) Becoming a couple of Rixey is also long lasting. Not only do you have a Facebook community to ask brides and B&I questions, but they also host annual holiday parties for all past and future Rixey couples! Last year they catered in dinner, held escape room games in the Manor, and there were drinks and dancing! All for free! Finally, Isadora is a great counselor before and during the wedding. I found out afterward that she even calmed down my mom the day of the wedding, and she and Ben understood our challenges with my dad and his terminal illness. My husband and I now consider Ben & Isadora our friends. Don't wait. Book them now!

The perfect wedding weekend! When we were looking for a wedding venue we wanted something truly special, we have very close immediate families and a lot of family from out the country and across the globe so it was very important to us to have as much quality time with those people as possible during our wedding - so of course, we wanted an entire wedding weekend. On top of this I had a vision of exactly what I wanted - eclectic romantic vibe in a laid back atmosphere, we wanted our dog to be included and my husband wanted to be outdoors. When I read about Rixey Manor it seemed too good to be true but on meeting Isadora and Ben who own and run the venue (having renovated it themselves and gotten married there!) I knew immediately that this was the only place we could get married, and now I can confidently say it was the absolute best decision I made! Ben and Isadora are built-in venue operators, planners, vendor liasons, etc. An all in one package - heck - they even run a wedding bootcamp for their couples to teach them the little things you could never think to prepare for (i.e. how to cut a cake with relative grace when everyone you know is watching). They are so so special and completely helped put my Type A mind at ease throughout the process. The venue is absolutely gorgeous as is but, if you are like me and have a vision, they will work with you to create exactly that and you can make it SO personal and special. We had our engagement photos on canvases, photo collages, meaningful momentos, etc. throughout the manor during our weekend and our guests absolutely loved it. We got married on September 2nd and had always feared it would be too hot - well - the day rolled around and it was downright chilly - never fear though Isadora and Ben were prepared with blankets and a hot chocolate bar for our guests! Our immediate families stayed in the house all weekend and had a wonderful time together, we loved watching our parents get to know eachother at this special time. We also got to have our pup with us throughout which was something we really wanted - the thought of him being home in a crate or boarded while his parents got hitched just wasn't working for me! I really cannot say enough about the many services you are getting at Rixey - from bustling my dress, last minute details, welcome baskets for our families, special allergy-friendly foods for me, rearranging shuttles during the party as needed and giving my dog medicine when he wasn't feeling well - seriously everything was done and without a second thought - it made an experience that can be super stressful so much easier and more enjoyable. I would rant about all of the gorgeous features of the property which our guests are still raving about but those are self evident from the photos. I could not recommend Rixey Manor any more! Thank you for making our day the best of our lives so far!

I can not say enough nice things about this place!From the moment my now husband and I walked onto the property, we felt the magic! this place is simply amazing. and it is run by two phenomenal people. Ben and Isadora are top notch. They know what they are doing and they do it so well. they are absolutely willing to accommodate and try any reasonable crazy idea you might have! In fact, we had two weddings, a normal ceremony and a late night tango party! They helped us with the logistics and challenges that come with planning two weddings in one day. Isadora made sure that everything was taken care of. from little details to getting us a whole new cake the day before the wedding (yes, that really happened!). She made sure everything ran on time. seriously. it ran like clockwork! we even had time to relax and eat our dinner!Ben was great and really helped us get everything set up with bar and work the crowd. he was eager to lend us a hand and offer real, useful advice for what does and doesn't work in their space.I don't think we could have picked a better place to get married. between the beautiful, historical elegance to the wonderful people at the helm, this venue was simply perfect and I know that our day was so perfect because of them!

Five stars is not enough for Rixey Manor. We had our wedding on August 26, 2017 and it was absolutely perfect. Beyond the stunning backdrop of the venue and location itself, Ben and Isadora, the owners and operators of the Manor are experts at their craft - they take care of everything, making sure you have a flawless event so you can focus on enjoying the moments that matter. When we first met with Ben and Isadora back in November 2016, they took two hours to sit down with us and walk us through all of the offerings of the venue and the aspects of a wedding, giving us recommendations for vendors and giving us their undivided attention. Starting the process of wedding planning had been initially overwhelming for us, but Ben and Isadora instantly put us at ease breaking down the basic components of a wedding into manageable parts. The most important part for us was that as we left, we felt we had two people in our corner that had our best interest at heart and we didn't feel the slightest bit pressured to make a decision or book the venue right away.They are there throughout the entire planning process to assist and give advice and insight where necessary while making you feel like family. I am definitely type-A and while I tried to cover every detail leading up to the wedding, once the wedding weekend began, we gave the reins to Ben and Isadora and we did not worry about a single thing throughout the weekend - from having a mimosa in hand while getting ready to making sure the vendors are organized, the timeline is followed, and the bar is organized - they had it covered and it went perfectly. The venue allows for a great deal of flexibility - the world is essentially your oyster and Ben and Isadora will do their best to see your vision through.Everyone at our wedding said it was the best wedding they have ever been to, now I've never had a wedding before, so I am not sure if that's what everyone tells the bride, but I honestly don't believe it would have been as great as it was had we not chosen Rixey Manor and Ben and Isadora. I could not be happier and if I could do it all again, I wouldn't change a thing!!

There were so many things we were looking for in a venue - an indoor space to hold a ceremony in bad weather, beautiful views, rustic yet elegant feel, flexibility in vendor selection, and a place we could call home to host friends and family the entire weekend. After our first visit, we had a feeling Rixey could offer these things, what we didn't know was that the planning and wedding experience would be so much more.Ben and Isadora are accommodating to all of your needs - and are a lot of fun to work with! They welcome scheduling visits as you are planning, they have a Facebook group to connect with other brides and grooms, and also host \"wedding boot camp\" to help answer questions. These are the things that you don't think about in selecting a venue but they make planning easier and make you feel part of the family. The boot camp did an amazing job of making us feel comfortable and familiar with the space, and allowed us to get to know Ben and Isadora better. Ben and Isadora don't just run a wedding venue, they invest in creating an amazing experience for each of their couples. The wedding ceremony and reception were amazing, but I'll always remember the simple moments drinking coffee and eating cake with my mom and Isadora on Sunday morning, and hearing my younger cousin tell me how he got to visit the horses in the barn.Ben and Isadora offer advice and can answer questions about all aspects of wedding planning. They are very organized and send a questionnaire so they know all details you are planning from Friday thru Sunday - and if you haven't planned some, its a good reminder of what you are missing! We went with many of their vendor recommendations (DJ, Caterer, Officiant, Cake, Makeup) and we could not have imagined how professional, fun, and caring each one of them would be in supporting our day. Ben and Isadora run your wedding day for you, so you can relax and experience the day without worry. I have spent many years as a project manager and it was amazing to hand the reigns off and just enjoy, something that I rarely feel comfortable doing. I had the utmost faith Isadora would do an amazing job and she did! Our wedding day was better than we could have ever imagined, all of our guests had so much fun, and we felt surrounded by so much love - from friends, family, and Ben and Isadora themselves.

Ben and Isadora run your wedding day for you, so you can relax and experience the day without worry. I have spent many years as a project manager and it was amazing to hand the reigns off and just enjoy, something that I rarely feel comfortable doing. I had the utmost faith Isadora would do an amazing job and she did! Our wedding day was better than we could have ever imagined, all of our guests had so much fun, and we felt surrounded by so much love - from friends, family, and Ben and Isadora themselves.

Rixey Manor is such a beautiful place to be! We loved the view the moment we got there or our initial visit. We knew on our car ride home that this was the absolutely perfect place for our wedding. The best part about the Manor is not only the beautiful views, but Isadora and Ben make it such a wonderful experience. The ability to have someone to help you with planning and making the day run so smoothly made everything so easy for us once we had our wedding. The bootcamps they run each year to help with what to do on the day of and their recommendations made our wedding experience so much more enjoyable. Rixey Manor is the absolute best place to go to get married!

If we could give Rixey Manor 100 stars we would do it in a heartbeat. From the first day we visited Rixey we felt like we were at home, and after spending two hours with Isadora and Ben we felt like we were leaving old friends. We were beyond excited that we also happened to have found the place where we would get married. Throughout the entire planning process Isadora and Ben were there to address any question/concern that we had – there is helpful and then there are wedding fairy godparents and Isadora and Ben are the latter. They have enough experience and creativity to not only find a solution to your problems, but to also use your ideas/what they know about you as a couple to help come up with a plan that is a 100 times better than your original one. (Our cookie table was probably the best cookie table anyone had ever seen, thanks to Isadora) So, not only do you end up with wedding fairy godparents if you choose Rixey Manor, you also end up with a truly STUNNING venue that is completely unique and yours for the whole weekend. Trust me, you will enjoy every minute that you are there. The views around the manor are breathtaking and the morning of your wedding, with the fog coming off of the mountains, it will seem like you are in a story book. Choosing Rixey Manor was the best decision we made while planning our wedding , and if we were to do it all over again, we would pick Rixey every time.

What can I say other than the Rixey Manor was perfect for our wedding. While the venue itself was just amazing, it's really Isadora and Ben, the owners, that made it so. They made sure everything was in place and that no detail, no matter how small, were not forgotten. From taking care of friends and family to confirming we have every flower and bauble in place, they were always there.The house itself was immaculate and has numerous options for a ceremony and reception. You really need to go there and walk the grounds with Dora while she recites the pros and cons of the nuances to each step. I would completely do our day over again if given the chance. My wife and I have even talked about having an anniversary party one year and re-invite everyone to have the party all over again!

Rixey Manor is one of the most beautiful venues I have been to. Isadora and Ben made everything so easy for my daughters wedding. I live in PA and was so worried. All for nothing! From flowers to photographers the day went like clock work!! I can't say enough! They were so accommodating. All I had to do was enjoy the beautiful day with my daughter and new son-in -law!!
