Rockwood Carriage House is a garden wedding venue located in Wilmington, Delaware. Tucked away on the secluded grounds of a historic 19th-century estate, the beautifully refurbished 150-year-old building is set on a 162-acre park just north of the city. Its stunning location belies its proximity to I-95 and numerous hotels for out-of-town guests. With expert wedding planners and creative cuisine by Prime Hospitality Catering, the facility offers a full range of outdoor settings among massive trees, walled gardens and verdant open areas, as we'll as indoor ceremony spaces highlighted with gorgeous stone walls and rustic wooden beams. Because only one event is scheduled at a time, brides and grooms will know they will receive undivided attention. Facilities and Capacity The Carriage House at Rockwood Park can host up to 225 guests in five event spaces as well as outdoors. There is a beautiful stone-walled indoor reception area that has direct access to a walled rose garden and other outdoor areas. The facility is large enough to provide abundant space for an indoor wedding ceremony should the need arise due to inclement weather or at the request of the happy couple. Reserved for one event per day, the event offers guests exclusive use of the event space for their special day. Rockwood Carriage House Reviews
My experience as a guest at a wedding at the Carriage House in Wilmington, Delaware left me deeply disappointed. The venue coordinators, two women, were shockingly unprofessional and seemed to go out of their way to tarnish the bride and groom's special day. It was painful to witness the bride's unraveling as a result of the way these coordinators treated her and her new spouse. The bride's parents were also visibly upset by the behavior of these two women, casting a shadow over what should have been a joyous occasion. The woman were not only unpleasant to the couple and their family, but very disrespectful to the outside vendors. All of us, as guests could see there was tension and issues surrounding these two woman with the entire event. I personally witnessed the women being very disrespectful to the DJ and it seemed from an outside perspective, they were not leaving him alone. Although, I could not hear what they were saying to this gentleman, I could see them yelling at him repeatedly throughout the night. At one point everyone in attendance could either feel and see the anger and tension from these woman to others, or you could see the bride, groom and family upset. My heart was truly broken seeing this go down on such a special day. The look on the bride's parents faces, honestly were just heart breaking and sad. They were not yelling back, they truly looked like they were just ready to cry. Very upsetting and I personally still do not even know all of the details, but from what I witnessed, those two woman are very aggressive and should not be in the hospitality business. I can't emphasize enough how unprofessional and upsetting their conduct was throughout the evening. I'm sharing this review as a cautionary tale to any future bride and groom considering the Carriage House as their wedding venue, especially if these same coordinators are in charge. It's essential to ensure that your special day is managed by professionals who truly care about making it a memorable and stress-free experience.

We were so thrilled to have our wedding at the Carriage House this weekend! The setting was beautiful, and Katie and Marie and the rest of their crew were so helpful. Our guests raved about the space and the food!

I cannot say enough how wonderfully my wedding at Rockwood Carriage House turned out. I had been to Rockwood before for various events and already knew how beautiful the venue was. I approached them requesting a fully vegan wedding, a first for them, and they were completely willing to work with me, with fantastic results. (I had guests who didn't even realize that the reception was entirely vegan, because they were so impressed with the food.) Greenery was also willing to work with our band, even though they traditionally have DJs. On the day of Michelle did an absolutely wonderful job and I didn't have to worry about anything, I could just enjoy a wonderful reception. After all the craziness and logistics of planning a wedding, I cannot tell you how grateful I am to Greenery Caterers for making the day seamless and fun.

This is a fantastic team! We were initially planning our wedding from out of state and were nervous about picking a venue/caterer. After meeting with Patti and her team we knew we would be in good hands. There are many reasons to book here, but here are some of the highlights: 1) The venue is stunning! There are so many beautiful places for guests and the bridal party to take pictures. It feels very unique, historic, and cozy inside. We had guests from all over the country and who commented on how much they loved the venue! It really helped us show off my home-state of Delaware in the best way! 2) The food was SO good. I think food at wedding is usually so-so but our guests could not stop commenting on how good everything was! 3) This team knows what they are doing. Patti, Margaret, and Michelle are all very professional and extremely detail-oriented. They helped us bring our vision to life. They also have a lot of great contacts and helped us find many of our other vendors, our hotel, and our transportation company. They helped us accommodate our guests with accessibility concerns, and helped us address the last minute problems that arose. Michelle also did a great job of keeping the flow of the night going and attending to me and the bridal party. We could not have planned our wedding from Chicago without the help of this team.
