Celebrate Your Romance by the River
Roostertail, located in Detroit, Michigan is a modern, mid-century wedding venue. Nestled along the Detroit River, you can enjoy beautiful views from our private, event spaces here while you make memories to last a lifetime. The team at this versatile venue wants to help streamline all of the work involved in event planning. They are on hand to help in whatever way they can, catering to your every need. Shawna & Nicole, the two event coordinators love helping their couples find ways to make their dream wedding a reality! We specialize in events that reflect your personal style and taste. Roostertail first opened its doors in 1958 and has welcomed all manner of illustrious guests, including Aretha Franklin, The Rolling Stones, and Elton John. Tony Bennett has also visited here, and even used to be an employee at the venue. Roostertail has more than 25,000 square feet of space for you to transform, with floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the river and the city skyline. There are three event spaces to choose from and two outdoor ceremony sites. You can exchange your vows on our waterfront Deck or Side Patio with beautiful views of the boats going by in the backdrop. An intimate reception can be held in the Club, which has a maximum capacity of 60 guests. Our Marine Room, which welcomes between 50-215 guests, has a hydraulic dance floor to wow your guests during your first dance! Our largest space, our Palm River Room, welcomes between 125 and 450 attendees, with floor-to-ceiling glass overlooking the Detroit River. There is plenty of free on-site parking for added convenience. Lots of event items are provided, including linens, customizable LED lighting, and Chiavari chairs. There's also an event coordinator on hand to help you with any questions you might have.

It has been 4 months since our wedding, and I can honestly say we still smile daily just thinking about how it all came together. From the moment we originally met with Nicole to tour the Palm River room we knew it was for us! The inclusion, expertise, detail-oriented planning, views, lighting, and excellent food makes the venue and your wedding day seamless and perfect! I cannot even count the number of compliments we were given on the venue, we heard âthis venue is incredible!â all night long. We were even told our wedding was the nicest wedding people had been to. We had endless compliments on the dinner, the mood, the staff, and the flow of the night. Everyone wishes we could re-live the night again and again. The best part about Roostertail is the fact that they have done SO MANY weddings. They know how to make it smooth. For example, we had an open bar, but Roostertail was smart enough to put beer in a cooler in the middle of the cocktail room which significantly cut down the bar line wait time. Little details like this are the reason you go to venues like the Roostertail. Thank you again to Nicole and all the staff who helped make our day perfect!

I picked the Roostertail because I wanted a waterfront venue and this was absolutely perfect. Everything about the day there was as amazing as I could have asked for, and then some. The food was great, and some of the best mashed potatoes I've ever had in my life. Each and every staff member was so gracious and kind. We had a bunch of guests tell us about how the staff was so sweet and went out of their way to help. 1 table was missed for cake on the first pass and within minutes they all had cake. Shawna was THEE best. She turned into my fairy godmother and was there for me when life was falling apart the week of the wedding, and was there for me all day and night making sure every detail I could think of was taken care. I didn't have to even think to ask her to do anything day of...because she already thought of it and it was taken care of. I did my own flowers and had a bunch of extras- her staff took them and added them around the room, on my candy table, and added extra vases because I ran out of time (last minute chaos led to being short handed). They added more containers to my candy table so I didn't have to worry about refilling things through the night. The bar staff remembered people and kept the drinks flowing and always prioritized my in-laws when they went to grab a drink. From setup to take down, it was a dream and I only wish it would've lasted longer!!! Tell them your vision and dreams and I almost guarantee they will make every ounce of it happen. I last minute was able to use the deck, and it was sooooo beautiful. I got to mingle with people on boats at the marina while I was waiting to walk down the aisle, which was unexpectedly wonderful). The owners and family were there the day before and day-of and are the absolute sweetest humans. My necklace broke as we were lining up to walk out on the dock and Ava (fiancé of the owner, I think) ran to her maintenance team to get it fixed last minute- she also made sure we had drinks before the ceremony started- an absolute gem. The fountains turning on during our first dance along with the rising dance floor had guests gasping. As magical as it felt, looking at videos it was even more so. Nicole, one of the other venue coordinators randomly fielded questions from me and is yet another gem on their staff. 1000/10 I would get married there again.

Shawna and her staff did an absolutely insane job! If you book with Shawna / Roostertail, you wonât regret it!

The team at the Roostertail knocked my wedding completely out of the park. They went above and beyond to make the day amazing and constantly were making sure I was happy with what was happening. I seriously can't recommend them enough. I got so many compliments on the venue, the food, and the service.

First off - donât waste your time looking anywhere else. The Roostertail is all you need and more in a wedding venue. Nicole and her entire team were an absolute dream to work with. I never thought about the importance of booking at a venue that handles chairs, linens, food, bar, everything you need, but wow was it amazing to have that all done, AND done insanely well. The food was so tasty, the drinks were ever flowing, the chivari chairs, gorgeous, the colorful fountains, itâs all incredible. The Roostertail is an absolutely gorgeous on the water venue, where no detail goes unlooked. Nicole is there for all the questions you need answered, and everyone on staff is so helpful the day of. Nicole was there for me to laugh with, she fixed my veil, she made sure we got the perfect shot with our photographer, I canât sing her praises enough! Thank you to everyone at the Roostertail for making our wedding dreams come true. Future brides and grooms book here you wonât be disappointed!

Nicole and staff were amazing! You may not read my entire review but just know that if you want something in downtown Detroit, off the water, and reasonably priced this is the place to go. Nicole was supportive of our budget, my grand ideas, and last minute changes and plans. They have everything listed out and I was able to easily plan without a wedding planner. I looked at about 7 locations in and out of the city and this was the best bang for our buck due to me wanting a waterview.

Itâs hard to put into words the gratitude that I feel to the Roostertail for making our day so special. My husband and I got married and had both our ceremony and reception at the Roostertail on 9/23/2023. It couldnât have been a more beautiful day! The venue is so beautiful, the food was incredible, and the staff is amazing. Plus, the musical history of the Roostertail cannot be beat - one of the first things that had drawn us to the venue! My guests continue to rave about the view, the deliciousness of the food and the great pours! I wanted to give a special shout out to Nicole and Ava. Nicole was our day of venue coordinator, as well as my point of contact throughout my whole wedding planning journey with the Roostertail - she was an absolute dream to work with and any bride would be lucky to have her on their team! She made me and my entire family feel so welcomed and cared for - she went out of her way to attend to my every need the day of my wedding. When she heard that our morning plans fell through with our hotel vendor so I didnât have a breakfast, she offered up some of her personal snack stash to make sure I wasnât starving during the ceremony. Ava was so helpful throughout the night to attend to the needs of my family and I. She heard that I liked rum, so she got me a flight of different rums to sample! She truly made me feel so special. The staff here truly cannot be beat, they treat you like family and they go above and beyond. You can feel that this is a family owned business through and through. The Roostertail went above and beyond to make our day the wedding of our dreams. We even got to meet the owners, Tom and Diane, while we were there and they gave us a gift on our way out. This place truly cannot be beat. It is truly special. We canât wait to be back. We love being a part of the Roostertail family <3.

The minute I walked into the roostertail about a year ago looking for my venue, I was greeted by Shawna⊠now if you know Shawna there is not one bad thing to say about her! The very first day of meeting her we cried together đ€Łđ«¶đŒ we shared some personal things with each other and was sitting there crying lol. We clicked right away! She was such a mother figure to me through this whole process. She got along with everyone. She loved my sister in laws hahah. When she met my husband, omg they were sitting there for 2 hours talking about cars! She made us feel like we were at home đđđ if I could do it all again I wouldnât trade Shawna for the world. She made sure I had the wedding of my dreams.The day of my wedding, Ava was with us! Every time I turned around she was there to make sure I was doing good and had a drink in my hand đ€Ł she even fixed my dress! She has the needle and thread ready! I appreciate her so much. Absolutely made our night easier. I couldnât thank her enough. We got married on 5.20.23 and it was amazing!!!! We got married on the side patio and reception in the club dining room!! It was so perfect and intimate for our 50 person wedding! I canât thank Nicole for helping us throughout the months leading up to the day, we had a last minute change in our wedding plans 5 months out and Nicole got right to it! Our day of coordinator Shawna was absolutely amazing AND THE BEST!!! She literally catered to everyone for whatever they needed our friends and family could not stop raving about Shawna at the Wedding! All the wait staff was excellent and so nice! Food was delicious and the open bar was also great!!

We had a blast at the Roostertail!! Our coordinador Shawna was a godsend and made sure that our day was timely and a success. When we had questions months prior she made time to get back to us promptly. She aided in set up for our decorations and definitely made sure to ease our minds when we began to stress out the day of. While the Roostertail offers plenty to help take the edge off of planning couples, Shawna consistently went above and beyond the promises in our contract and definitely helped us out with her experience. 12/10 recommend working with her and the Roostertail for your special day!

We had our January 21, 2023 wedding ceremony and reception at the Roostertail and had the most amazing experience! Nicole made the entire planning process easy and seamless. She was so kind and was always available to answer any and all questions. Her entire team went above and beyond on our wedding day, and we could not be more grateful. Our guests raved about the food, drinks and how beautiful the venue was. With a winter wedding, we wanted the venue to make a statement. The views from the Palm River Room cannot be beat! The floor-to-ceiling windows with the river and Detroit skyline made for a beautiful backdrop for our wedding. We would highly recommend the Roostertail to anyone looking for a unique Detroit venue with great food and a phenomenal staff!

We had our January 21, 2023 wedding ceremony and reception at the Roostertail and had the most amazing experience! Nicole made the entire planning process easy and seamless. She was so kind and was always available to answer any and all questions. Her entire team went above and beyond on our wedding day, and we could not be more grateful. Our guests raved about the food, drinks and how beautiful the venue was. With a winter wedding, we wanted the venue to make a statement. The views from the Palm River Room cannot be beat! Nicole and the team at the Roostertail did an amazing job with all of the arrangements for our wedding. Nicole was friendly, attentive to our special request, and very patient with our vendors and guests to ensure that our wedding day was extraordinary. We have received endless compliments for the event, many people stating that this was the best wedding theyâve ever attended. The venue was beautiful, the staff were nice, and the food was delicious! Overall, I would rate this place a 10 out of 10. Our wedding day was better than we imagined! Thank you Nicole, me and Asia really enjoyed working with you, and we appreciate all of the time and energy you put towards making our event special!

We have received endless compliments for the event, many people stating that this was the best wedding theyâve ever attended. The venue was beautiful, the staff were nice, and the food was delicious! Overall, I would rate this place a 10 out of 10. Our wedding day was better than we imagined! The Roostertail made our day come true! We had a longggg and bumpy wedding planning journey. We had gotten engaged in 2018 and decided to plan ahead and have the wedding 4/4/2020. Wellllll we originally were booked at a different venue. Which a few months before our wedding, closed. They transferred us to their sister location. Which a week after also closed as the company went bankrupt!!! . It was a brides nightmare! But We were then saved by the Roostertail! They were so kind and flexible and able to get us in and work with us to move the whole wedding there! I cried so many tears of joy!âŠ..Then Covid hit. And weddings as a whole were haluted. When Covid started to lift a bit near the end 2020 the Roostertail stayed in the know and reached out to see about making sure our wedding still happened. Knowing they cared about us is such crazy times meant so much!! So November 2020 it was! However there was another ill timed Covid resurgence. we sorted out our life around Covid for awhile and the Roostertail stayed true to us. After a long wait we were able to make it happen March 2022!!! Nicole is BEYOND amazing! She was kind and clear and made everything so easy for us. The staff was all very organized and friendly and the guests we all so happy! I know I talked about how we got there after a bunch of craziness but I am SO HAPPY we did. It is an absolutely beautiful venue!!! The spacing and the layout were all customized just for us. We were in the palm river room and the VIEWS were perfection as the sunset. All my vendors enjoyed working there and I had a lot of guests come to me and share âthis is my new favorite placeâ âthis venue is so beautifulâ âeveryone should get married hereâ. And I agree!!! It worked out after bumps for us but if you read this whole long review, you donât need to worry about anything if you pick the Roostertail now. Do it. Itâs a dream come true

Nicole was our day-of coordinator, and she was so helpful over the entire course of wedding planning. From the moment I first reached out to the venue, she was on the phone with me that afternoon with a package totally tailored to us and our wedding vibe, and I could tell she truly cared about delivering us the best day ever. AND Roostertail makes planning and personalizing your wedding package super super easy. That kind of care eliminated sooo much stress during the planning process...and even on a hectic wedding prep morning, we never doubted everything at the venue was under control & would turn out beautifully. Our wedding was just over 2 months ago now, and we're STILL getting stellar feedback from our guests about how much fun they had, how amazing the food was (we did cocktail style instead of plated sit-down dinner, and it was just *chef's kiss,* and so filling), how attentive/professional/friendly the staff were, and how beautiful the location was. Our wedding at the Roostertail was flawless! We had to postpone our 2020 wedding to 7/23/21 wedding, and Nicole made every part of the process so smooth! She was so attentive, responsive and detail oriented, and kept us informed along the way, even coordinating with our other vendors so we didnât have to worry about any details.The venue decor and food were amazing and tailored to our needs and vision - we even received some free upgrades that we werenât expecting (including some boozy dessert drinks that our guests couldnât stop raving about! Nicole kept checking in with us all night, kept us with drinks in our hands, and we never had to worry about anything. Our guests had a wonderful time as well- they enjoyed the views, the bars, and the overall ambience! We couldnât recommend this venue enough!

She was so attentive, responsive and detail oriented, and kept us informed along the way, even coordinating with our other vendors so we didnât have to worry about any details.The venue decor and food were amazing and tailored to our needs and vision - we even received some free upgrades that we werenât expecting (including some boozy dessert drinks that our guests couldnât stop raving about! Nicole kept checking in with us all night, kept us with drinks in our hands, and we never had to worry about anything. Our guests had a wonderful time as well- they enjoyed the views, the bars, and the overall ambience! We couldnât recommend this venue enough!

Amazing venue- the views of the water were stunning!Our daughterâs wedding, originally planned at a Grosse Pointe Michigan venue inside, was announced to us in January, that a major renovation was decided and all weddings for 2021 were moved outdoors to a tent. Three weeks before our wedding, the tent was damaged in a storm and outdoor music was limited due to noise levels and we were going to be forced to move into a crowded small room until our reception ended.My daughter contacted The Roostertail and spoke with Shawna, who stepped in and told us they could accommodate us with TWO weeks to go!From the moment we spoke to Shawna, she was reassuring, confident and very positive that they could put together a wonderful wedding reception for us- and they did!The Palm River Room was gorgeous the moment you stepped into it! The view from the room and the deck was spectacular and our guests loved it!The entire staff was attentive, professional and anticipated our needs. The guests enjoyed the food, although I would have preferred a bit larger portion on the chicken entree. A very nice surprise later in the evening from Shawna and Tom was an added Specialty desert drink called a âHummerâ, milk and cookie drinks and a wonderful candy table. Thank You so much Tom, Shawna and the entire Roostertail staff for making our daughter and son- in-lawâs dream wedding possible and so much better than we thought it could be!

Three days before my re-scheduled COVID wedding, I found out my wedding venue was damaged, due to severe storms, which forced us to find a new location on an extremely tight timeline. The Roostertail immediately jumped in to help & when my husband & I went for a site tour just days before our wedding, I will never forget the feeling I had when entering the Palm River room. I was absolutely amazed by the space & the staff! Nicole instantly made me feel at ease & was beyond willing to jump in and help in any way possible! Nicole, Michael and all the staff were extremely professional, responsive & incredible to work with! Nicole immediately jumped in to help communicate the venue change and plans to our vendors. They pulled out so many surprises for us during the night, including a photo slide show and dry ice drink bar. Our guests raved about the wedding & event space & everyone enjoyed their night! My only wish was that I had found this venue initially when wedding planning because I wish I could've worked with the incredible staff longer. Throughout COVID planning and venue re-schedules, our wedding turned out even better than I could've ever imagined, thanks to the Roostertail.

Our daughter's wedding, originally planned for 10.10.20 in Grosse Pointe was rescheduled during the pandemic for 7.1.21. Sadly, in January of 2021, the venue announced a major renovation and moved all weddings outdoors to a tent. Six days before the wedding, the tent was damaged in a storm, creating the need for a very quick venue change. In stepped the Roostertail, just 3 days before the wedding! From the moment we met Nicole and Michael, they were confident, reassuring, and positive they could create a dream wedding in only a few days. With so little time to make changes and notify guests, we had to trust Nicole and Michael and leave all the details to them. They exceeded our expectations in EVERY POSSIBLE WAY!It is impossible to express the feeling walking into the Roostertail and then watching our daughter and son in law walk into the gorgeous Palm River room, with the absolutely breathtaking view. The entire staff was attentive, professional, and anticipated and met our needs before we even asked! Michael asked my favorite drink when we first met and ordered the malibu to make it, Nicole made sure I had that drink in hand all night long. The food was delicious and beautifully presented and received so many compliments. The owner, Tom Schoenith, even joined and shared stories and memories with our guests. During the evening they added a dry ice drink bar that was such a surprise and a hit with everyone! Guests were absolutely in awe of the Roostertail and their ability to create the night in a matter of days. Their attention to detail was incredible and they appeared to enjoy the night as much as we did. Nicole even created a slideshow of Lauren and Conner from Instagram pictures! Our only regret is that we didn't book the Roostertail from the start as their all inclusive package (food, cocktail hour, appetizers, premium bar, chiavari chairs, linens, table vases, outdoor covered ceremony deck overlooking the water, specialty drinks, and tax and gratuities) would have saved us time booking outside vendors and money.Thank you Nicole, Michael, Tom and all the Roostertail staff for making Lauren and Conner's dream wedding possible and truly better than they ever imagined it would be. đ„°

My husband and I chose the Roostertail for our wedding venue a year before COVID and unfortunately, we had to reschedule not once, but twice. The Roostertail accommodated us every step of the way. Our wedding coordinator at the Roostertail, Nicole, is the best of the best. She has a step-by-step organizer that put her in contact with all of our vendors, as well as helped my husband and I stay on track with planning deadlines. Nicole is a phenomenal communicator and made herself available through phone and email at our convenience which made planning our entire wedding from out-of-state hassle free! Nicole truly made our wedding vision come true and became a friend and wedding coordinator all in one! Nicole took great care and effort to make our wedding day seamless and beautiful! The Roostertail staff is 11/10. Monica personally waited on my husband and myself. At one point in the evening, she found me and put a fresh drink in my hand because she noticed that every time Iâd talk to guests, Iâd leave my drink. It meant a lot to me that she went out of her way to ensure that I could communicate with guests, but also enjoy myself (thank you, Monica)! Iâve heard many people say that they didnât get to enjoy their wedding because they were too busy, however, that is not the case at the Roostertail. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure that the bride and groom get to relax and enjoy their wedding. You only get married once and the Roostertail will ensure you enjoy every minute of it! For dinner we ordered the cheese and spinach stuff chicken and it was to die for! My husband and I still talk about it, wondering if we could somehow steal the recipe! The Roostertail accommodates guests with dietary restrictions phenomenally! For our vegan and vegetarian friends, we ordered the quinoa stuffed pepper. Our guests were so thankful to the Roostertail for accommodating them and my vegan cousin said it was the best meal sheâs had in years! After having the heartbreaking experience of having to postpone our original wedding date of July 2020 at our original reception venue to April 2021, our venue cancelled on us 6 weeks out, leaving us stressed, upset and hopeless. I had to leave for Florida the next day after finding this out, and our wedding planners found out the Roostertail was providing COVID-safe wedding receptions that follow MDHHS guidelines, and thank God, our date was open! Shauna was our FANTASTIC coordinator who I canât say enough good things aboutâshe was so accommodating and willing to compromise with us regarding our menu selection, decorations, and room choice to make our special day happen the best way we wanted it to. She was always available whenever I needed her and answered all of the questions I had. Everything was beautifulâfrom the table set up, to the lights on the dock and outside, the purple fountains, the food was phenomenal (we did duo entree of chicken and filet which my guests are still raving out), the drinks were on point, the wait staff was amazing âit was everything we could have asked for and more. Our family and friends were shocked this was our âplan Bâ because of how fun and beautiful everything was, even during a pandemic in one a state with one of the most strictest restrictions. We had initially booked for September 2020 and when it became clear that wasnât going to be an option any longer, Nicole and the Roostertail staff did everything they could to make the postponement smooth and low stress. She was so great with communication, set up, and suggestions when we needed them (plus sheâs the sweetest person ever). The staff was fun, friendly, and took safety precautions very seriously. Weâve received endless compliments about the venue, the staff, and the food. I cannot recommend the Roostertail enough. I could never have enough positive things to say about Nicole our wedding coordinator from Roostertail and the ENTIRE Roostertail Staff. Wow. Just wow. First, planning a wedding during a pandemic is one of the most stressful experiences ever. From guidelines constantly changing to guests dropping because of covid to trying to make what should be a normal wedding, somewhat normal of a wedding. The Roostertail staff made all of our guests so comfortable and we were amazed at how well informed and trained they are with the covid protocols. The venue was absolutely stunning, the food was ridiculously good and the drinks were pouring! If I could relive this day over and over again, I would in a heartbeat. The Roostertail Staff made my dreams come true and then some, even when it did not feel like it would ever come together. Even days leading up to the wedding, we were unsure if it was going to be announced that indoor dining would be shut down once again. Nicole always was on top of it and a step ahead with Plan B, C and D!Thank you from the bottom of my heart from the kitchen staff, waitstaff, bartender, Shauna, Erik from GFS, the owner! and Nicole! The Roostertail Staff made my dreams come true and then some, even when it did not feel like it would ever come together. Even days leading up to the wedding, we were unsure if it was going to be announced that indoor dining would be shut down once again. Nicole always was on top of it and a step ahead with Plan B, C and D!Thank you from the bottom of my heart from the kitchen staff, waitstaff, bartender, Shauna, Erik from GFS, the owner! and Nicole! You all made our day so special and we could never thank you enough.

My husband, Matt and I had our wedding reception at the Roostertail and 5 stars is definitely not enough as a rating. We originally had our reception planned back in November, but due to COVID, we had to change things around. From the beginning of this very process, Nicole and the staff have gone above and beyond. Nicole and Ava attending our wedding ceremony in November, even though we couldn't hold the reception then. Nicole truly gives herself to this job and we couldn't have asked for a better wedding coordinator. I was one of those brides that wanted to be involved in every single detail of the planning process, and Nicole exceeded my expectations by making sure every one of our requests was met. I trust her 1000% to make any decision during the reception planning process.The venue alone is beautiful with its' views of the river and downtown Detroit, but what makes this venue even more special is its' staff. The night of our reception, the owner of the Roostertail was in attendance to make sure our guests had THE BEST time. The serving staff was constantly visiting tables to check in on drinks and food during cocktail hour, and for the remainder of the evening! Not one single guest went without whatever they needed.Our guests raved about the service and how Nicole and Ava were beyond amazing catering to their requests. Nicole made sure that my husband and I didn't miss out on anything and took care of us throughout the night! Nicole even took care of things we didn't even think of like...staying hydrated throughout the night, eating dinner because we got so busy, and enjoying the little moments during our cake cutting. She even set up a Cigar Station for my husband and his friends to enjoy during the night. At the end of the night, the entire staff had all of our reception decor packed up and ready for us to take within 30 minutes. We were so impressed! This venue is truly a family tradition where they put their heart and soul into it, and that is why it will continue to be the best venue in Detroit for many many more years. They take pride in their business and it shows (even the owner had roostertail cufflinks, which just goes to show their love for their business and guests). We had guests come up to us at the end of the evening saying that this was the most beautiful and fun wedding they had ever been to. We wanted every guest to feel special and The Roostertail made that happen. We have wonderful memories to last a lifetime, and we hope everyone else does too by booking this venue. We originally booked the Roostertail for our May 30th, 2020 wedding but due to covid, we ultimately had to postpone. Roostertail & Nicole were incredibly accommodating & worked with us as we ultimately decided to postpone our large reception but continue with a small intimate wedding/mini reception on October 23rd, 2020....& we are SO happy we decided to do this!! Nicole was so incredibly helpful, and worked with us to make our dream wedding (for only 13 people!). Up until the wedding date, Nicole was very detail oriented &constantly worked with us to make sure that we felt comfortable & provided great expertise & suggestions! The day of our wedding, we were BLOWN away! The attention to detail & the set up was more than we could have ever dreamed of - everything was so beautiful & they made our intimate wedding feel so incredibly special. The food was fantastic, the decor was stunning, & our families raved about all of that along with the professionalism & helpfulness of the entire staff at Roostertail. Roostertail & staff also adhered to all COVID restrictions, which put us at ease & we all felt incredibly safe the entire time. The staff went above & beyond on a few incidents that happened: 1. We had a torrential downpour/storm almost immediately after the wedding ceremony & were stranded on the deck but they brought out umbrellas/helped us dry off/put coats in dryers, etc!. 2. I spilled an ENTIRE GLASS OF RED WINE on my dress, and the staff immediately assisted me and helped me to get everything out. Overall, we were so incredibly happy with our initmate wedding/reception and with Nicole and the entire staff at Roostertail. Our 13 person event felt so incredibly special & they definitely pulled out all of the stops to make us feel special, including Mr. Schoenith who really assisted in our intimate event! Our intimate wedding day was so incredibly perfect & would not have been possible without Nicole & the staff at Roostertail! We are already so excited for our postponed large reception at the Roostertail!

My husband & I had our wedding end of September at the Roostertail. We had originally planned for a destination wedding but had to cancel that due to the pandemic. We had to quickly find a venue. My husband had reached out to the staff at Roostertail, specifically Nicole to get a quote. The Roostertail is amazing and once again, Shawna came through! We got married there 10 years ago exactly (August 22, 2010). Not much we can do these days with COVID to celebrate our anniversary, so on Friday afternoon we drove down there to see the place we got married at 10 years ago. Shawna was there and I had the song we danced to for our first dance saved on my phone. Shawna let us plug in and relive our \"first dance\" on the rising dance floor. It was noon and the place was empty, but for the few moments we were out on that dance floor, it felt like we were getting married all over again. Thanks to Shawna especially and the Roostertail as a venue - they are absolutely incredible.

We booked the RoosterTail as our wedding venue because they had a very nice outdoor area that seemed very sensible and smart for having a gathering during the current COVID pandemic. They have a lovely dock that is covered with a pavilion and because of this it is well aerated while still providing cover in case of rain. During the wedding we had an amazing setting watching the boats go back and forth on the river with the sun setting in the distance. Not only was the setting spectacular but there they are concerned with the safety of their guests. They were able to space out the tables to a distance that we felt was appropriate. This provided comfort to our guests knowing they could dine safely and be distanced from others. The staff practiced very good hygiene techniques and wore masks and gloves at all times. The venue listened to our concerns and they accommodated all of them because safety of our guests was our number one priority. They made sure that they followed all of the CDC and Governor's recommendations and then some. They are greatly concerned for the safety of you and your guests and I would highly recommend them to host your wedding.

The Roostertail is incredible!! I just got married there (ceremony and reception) and everything was like a dream. Nicole is the most amazing wedding coordinator and she is so attentive! We must have asked her a million and one questions and she answered them all! The staff was able to make our mid-pandemic wedding safe and fun for everyone by moving our wedding to the gorgeous outdoor side patio, offering table service for drinks, and doing a plated dinner rather than a buffet. Everyone was in proper PPE (mask, gloves) and all of our tables were socially distanced. Did I mention the view? Being right on the Detroit river is breath-taking and the cool breeze is unbeatable. We could not have asked for a more magical experience. Thank you so much to everyone at the Roostertail for making our wildest wedding dreams come true!

When my husband and I signed the contract for the Roostertail, we knew we had picked the best venue! In January of 2019, I contacted the Roostertail and had the honor to speak with Nicole. My fiancĂ©e (now husband) and I met with her in February and we discussed the many options and great packages that the Roostertail had to offer. My husband and I, overwhelmed in a positive way, were able to walk away with a contract that we could afford, with all of the âbells and whistlesâ that we wanted to have! I visited the Roostertail many times from February until our wedding day December 28, for meetings, suggestions, consultations, and brainstorming so that my dream could become a reality. Nicole was always very helpful, had many suggestions, recommendations, ideas, and really took an active interest in helping my husband and I have the wedding of our dreams! She was always available to talk to, and she was always very thorough and positive. Not only was Nicole the perfect person to work with but also was the entire staff. Whenever I entered the building, everyone was helpful, pleasant, and excited for my husband and I about our day. On our wedding day, December 28, 2019, THE ENTIRE STAFF was pleasant, helpful, and accommodating. My guests are still telling us how nice and professional the staff was and how nice the venue was. From coat check, to the buffet, to bathroom attendants, to wait staff, the entire Roostertail staff made my husband and I wedding day one that we will never forget! We enjoyed them so much, we are thinking about the next event we want to have at the Roostertail. I am so glad that we chose to have one of the most important days of our lives at the Roostertail. Nicole was always very helpful, had many suggestions, recommendations, ideas, and really took an active interest in helping my husband and I have the wedding of our dreams! She was always available to talk to, and she was always very thorough and positive. Not only was Nicole the perfect person to work with but also was the entire staff. Whenever I entered the building, everyone was helpful, pleasant, and excited for my husband and I about our day. On our wedding day, December 28, 2019, THE ENTIRE STAFF was pleasant, helpful, and accommodating. My guests are still telling us how nice and professional the staff was and how nice the venue was. From coat check, to the buffet, to bathroom attendants, to wait staff, the entire Roostertail staff made my husband and I wedding day one that we will never forget! We enjoyed them so much, we are thinking about the next event we want to have at the Roostertail. I am so glad that we chose to have one of the most important days of our lives at the Roostertail. Itâs hard to describe my experience working with Shawna at the roostertail. I have never lived in Michigan, and hadnât been to the roostertail in person when I signed my contact. I fell in love with the photos and read 1000s of reviews, I knew it was a beautiful venue with outstanding reviews. What I didnât know, is that Iâd have the pleasure to work with Shawna Peplinski. She completely understood, me, my husband, our vision, our complicated extended family dynamic, and executed a wedding more perfect than my wildest dreams. I would text Shawna crazy ideas, like having heavy Hors d'oeuvre/tapas style dining all night rather than a sit down menu. She helped me every step of the way, and I hope she knows sheâs getting a Christmas card every year! My guests could not stop raving about how beautiful the venue was and how DELICIOUS the food was. Iâve been to soooo many weddings and 9/10 times, the food is lackluster at best. The Roostertail is truly incredible. The view, the facility, the service, the water features, hydraulic dance floor, grass walls with neon lights, gorgeous photo spots through out.... and I could go on and on and on. Shawna is a wedding planning legend and so intuitive, she understands her brides in a way itâs hard to explain. During the wedding she made sure every detail was covered and when things inevitably had to be changed around, she smoothly handled it without disruption to the dayâI had no idea we moved my ceremony up 30 minutes due to weather concerns and ALL the guests being early?!?! I never want to get married again because itâs a lot of work and Iâm already married to my soul mate lol BUT, I canât wait to have an anniversary party back where it all started! Iâd also like to give a huge shoutout to Darnell, who took incredible care of me and my husband all evening, he made sure we ate and never let our glasses get empty. Most of my friends and family had never been to Detroit, let alone Michigan (Iâm a southerner) and they were all SO impressed with their experience as guests at a world class facility!! I dont know where to begin. This place is beyond amazing. Iâve been dreaming of getting married there since I was 11 years old. From the impeccable service and food to the raising dance floor and decor. Itâs got modern and old Hollywood vibes. If you want a venue to BLOW away your friends and family this is the place. From the moment you pull up in the parking lot there is awe factor. The service is the best Iâve ever received, they are there for you and make sure that you know that. THE FOOD!! Itâs amazing, incredible, all the best describing words. Itâs the best food Iâve ever eaten. Forget the boring wedding food treat your self to the Roostertail. The decorations and table scapes are and can be one of a kind. In the Marine room on the second floor, during the first dance, the dance floor RAISES! You read that correctly. It was the most awe struck moment, you can definitely hear people gasp in the moment. I cannot say enough amazing things about this place. The Roostertail has the best staff, food, environment and VEIWS! It will always have a special place in my heart and made my dreams come true.

There were so many amazing appetizer, dinner, dessert, and late night options to choose from - our guests said that the food was amazing. The downstairs room was the perfect setting for our reception. You can't beat the view of Belle Isle and the sun setting over the Detroit skyline! Our guests also loved that they could get some fresh air on the patio. The rising stage and fountains made our first dance truly memorable. So many of our guests told us the next day how amazing our venue was, and we couldn't agree more!

Last year, John (my now husband) and I met with Nicole to inquire about having our wedding reception at the Roostertail. After one meeting with Nicole, we knew this was where we wanted to spend one of the most important days of our lives celebrating with our closest family and friends. Before we had anything finalized Nicole created a texting group chat with her, John and I titled, âJohn & Deana NYE 2018 Wedding.â Seeing something as simple as this made us so excited and we felt so special. From our first encounter with Nicole we felt truly cared about and we loved that she was just as excited as we were. We said YES to the Roostertail. This was one of the easiest and best decisions we have ever made.Throughout the entire planning process, Nicole was always there to answer phone calls, text messages, and emails promptly. I can honestly say, I did not have any worries and/or anxiety about the wedding because I trusted her 100%. I enjoyed the most important day in my life, worry-free because of Nicole. I know not every bride can say that. Nicole and the entire Roostertail team were flawless. They included several surprises the night of our wedding, which we are forever grateful for. The food was delicious, the drinks were perfect, and all the staff members were extremely accommodating. The owner of the Roostertail was on sight the night of our wedding and personally came over to John and I congratulating us, making sure we were good. Remarkable customer service! We have received endless compliments about the evening from our guests. Our New Yearâs Eve wedding was so magical, something out of a movie! The Roostertail was the best decision that my wife and I made. This venue has been family owned and operated for decades and the venue looks like it was built yesterday. My husband and I recently had our wedding at the Roostertail. My parents and my sister were also married at the Roostertail. I, initially, wasnât super keen on using the same venue, only because I wanted to be different. Not to say that both my sister and my parentsâ weddings werenât beautiful, I just wanted to be different. Shawna, the event manager at the Roostertail, assured me that I would have an entirely different wedding and she delivered. Prior to the wedding, I was able to chose from several different color schemes for table cloths and center pieces to complement the concept my husband and I designed, a large rising dance floor, fountains that went off during our first dance, a state-of-the-art sound system throughout and the venue supplied the Chiavari chairs and matching chargers, I did not have to rent anything. This saved us over $1,000!The food and drinks were amazing, with more choices than I remembered from my sisterâs wedding. The package that we used also had several choices for passed hâorderves, an open bar and a few packages we added on, such as a Moscow Mule Bar, late night waffle bar, coney dogs, pizza and a coffee/ice bar. My favorite was the Moscow Mule Bar!The best part of the event was the staff, who were very friendly, and which several of my guest commented on. You always hear of brides saying they never ate anything at their wedding, I can assure you that is not the case at the Roostertail. There was a wonderful gentleman, Darnell, who I believe was assigned to my family to ensure that we ate, and our glass was always full. When I first got there, he introduced himself and asked what our favorite drinks were, then brought me both drinks I said I like so we could try them. When my glass was getting low (or more often when the ice would melt because I was running around) Darnell would bring a fresh drink. He would come up to me and say something like, âyou need to sit down and eatâ or âif you donât eat now, your schedule will be delayed.â (Which was true, and there was a schedule.)  I could go on and on, but the most important things about the wedding was our guests had an amazing time, the venue looked wonderful, and we had the most memorable night of our lives. So, thank you to the Roostertail staff for giving us a stress free wedding!

Darnesha and her Dream Team!We were in the best hands the day of our winter wonderland wedding when we had our intimate wedding of 46 people in the Roostertailâs beautifully redone Club Room. First and foremost, Darnesha and her Dream Team. Oh my goodness. This girl endured my constant calls and emails and handled my organization overload with ease! There isnât a detail this girl missed on our wedding dayâŠplus sheâs super sweet and adorable and a joy to talk to! The same went for the rest of the staff that helped on our wedding day. I wish I could remember all their names because they were all SO nice and made sure that each and every guest was attended to. We received so many compliments on the location, the food, the atmosphere, but most of all, the staff and how friendly and how at home everyone felt! We cannot thank each of them enough for making our day so special!The food and drinks â A++++. We had plated dinners with the option of chicken piccata, salmon or a spice rubbed sirloin with bordelaise sauce. All had ravings reviews. We did red skinned mashed potatoes and green beans as our sides. The potatoes were to die for! We started off with a salad as well with baby spinach, red onion, dried cherries, julienne pears and an apple cider vinaigrette. For cocktail hour, we had the grilled cheese with tomato bisque soup (they serve the cups in the most adorable soup cups that everyone was so tickled about), fried shrimp, and the bruschetta. We were also treated to cocktail shrimp and lampchops that I didn't try but I heard were out of this world! After dinner, the staff surprised us with homemade sugar Christmas cutout cookies and the most fabulous hot chocolate with kahula! Through ALL this deliciousness, Darnesha and team made sure that my hubby and I always had a drink in hand and that we were well taken care of food wise. She even brought down appetizers to the family portrait area during cocktail hour to ensure that we didnât miss out on the amazingness their staff had created!I could seriously rave on and on about the Roostertail, itâs staff and itâs service. We had the most incredible night and not one person at our wedding had a bad experience and raved about it being one of the best weddings they had ever been to. It was a magical evening and Adam and I felt like we were accepted into the Roostertail family and have never felt so loved and taken care of as we did on that day! Plus, the Roostertail had a snow machine that we frolicked in afterwards before heading out to the car with Darnesha â such a fun gal! If youâre having a big or a small wedding, the Roostertail has the space you need in a beautiful location and a staff that truly goes above and beyond what is expected of them. I highly highly highly recommend it!

Absolutely amazing place for our wedding! Hands down the best space for a wedding in Detroit. Tom and Shawna and the entire staff went out of their way to create the most memorable experience. They were very accommodating to our visions and the food was excellent. Nothing but praise and love for the Roostertail!

Truly Amazing from start to finishWe knew when we arrived at the venue this was best place for us. We wanted to space that was on its own fantastic. What we ended with blew our expectations through the roof and I owe Shawna and the entire roostertail team a HUGE thank you for making our dream wedding come true. From the start Shawna was patient and truly interested in making our day as special as it could be and worked with our budget to do so. It's hard to put down in a few words how thankful we are to everyone at the Roostertail for making this an amazing experience. If anyone is looking to have their wedding in Downtown Detroit, this is the place!

We just recently had my son and daughter in law's wedding at the roostertail and I cannot begin to explain how amazing everything was. Shawna is outstanding. She went above and beyond for us. Anything we needed, she always said yes without any hesitation. Everything went smooth. The hall was beautiful, food was delicious, staff was attentive and organized, lighting was perfect. Everything about the night was PERFECT! And we cannot thank Shawna enough because we could have not made this wedding as amazing as it was without her. Shawna paid attention to every single detail for the wedding and we cannot thank her enough !!! It was the most beautiful wedding
