Everything about Rust Manor made the dream of our special day come true. Alexandra and her team provided top tier heartfelt service to us during the planning of our wedding and especially the day of. When it rained 5 minutes before our ceremony, the Rust Manor team did everything in their power to make sure our day was just as special and beautiful. In the last two years, they have renovated and invested in the property which has taken it from beautiful historic venue to a high end luxurious spot that feels both elegant and warm. Highly recommend this venue! Reviewed on 16-01-2024

We loved our wedding at Rust! It was beautiful & we loved the convenience of having everything in one place!Pros: beautiful grounds, access to the bridal suites & the whole house starting at 10am, provided all base reception & ceremony necessities (tables, chairs, lighting, plates, cups, utensils, arch), easy to contact, and one point of contact for all wedding and catering related needs. Cons: no rust staff on site at all during the day (prepare to mobilize your bridal party for set up & tear down), no day of coordinator provided (but required), no sound system for use & no spare supplies for the day of to rent or borrow (this is just at a me thing, I don’t think rust is the only venue to do this). Important to note, they have now removed the bridal and groom’s suites from the basic package. The latter didn’t impact us as we booked before this change occurred, but this irked me since the venue costs so much & we had to keep reminding the team it was provided to us in our contract. I cannot recommend Rust Manor enough. The entire property is beautiful from the manor itself to the garden and the reception tent. They recently renovated the library and the bridal suite and both were stunning. All of our guests continue to rave about how beautiful the venue. I worked with Amelia and Alexandra through Rust and they were nothing short of fantastic. Everyone was extremely responsive and worked with me to help make our dream wedding within our budget. Rust Manor is so beautiful and a good price if you live in NOVA. We really like their designated caterer too and it has good amenities. We did find their organizational skills to be less than desirable - even after confirming the rehearsal time with them multiple times, they still double booked the venue during our rehearsal time and did not let us know. They also did not originally set up the ceremony chairs the way we had agreed upon (my mom and MIL had to get them to fix it the afternoon of our wedding day) - which made me think they did not take great notes during our two hour walk through the month before our wedding. That being said, the wedding day went great and we are glad we picked this vendor, since those were only minor inconveniences. The staff was also very helpful when we had issues with our linen order. Rust Manor was my dream venue! The price was right for the entire property. We were able to be on site at 8am to get ready and had the whole upstairs of the house! I loved how we had all separate locations for the events: backyard for ceremony, inside and outside for cocktail hour, and tent for reception! The photos came out incredible in every space! Throughout the entire planning process, we had so many questions and Nicole, and always responded within 24 hours. We were worried about the cold (and it was cold) but they put out heaters and assured us between those and the blankets we purchased everyone would be okay. And they were right! No one died! Basically what you need to know is this staff knows what they're doing, they want you to have a wonderful day, and they're going to work with you to make your vision a reality. ALSO, this venue is accessible (we had a few guests in wheelchairs or with walkers and this was paramount). Would recommend to anyone! Reviewed on 01-12-2022

Alexandra, was attentive and responsive to our questions leading up to the big day. They accommodated our requests. Only issue was the ceremony, as we had probably an extra 20 chairs set up, assuming that it was because our first estimated number when we booked was higher than our day of guests. Since we got married later in the season, it was cold, but the house and tent provided warmth for our guests, and overall, was perfect. 10/10 would get married here all over again! Grace VanderVeer(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-04-2022 Rust Manor House was the absolute perfect place for our magical fairy garden wedding. We chose Rust Manor House for our Spring Wedding in March of 2020 for a March 2021 wedding that, due to the pandemic, was not able to be. They were completely flexible in helping us find a new date and we were married there last Saturday, April 30. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, from the historic house, to the stone walled garden, which gives Secret Garden vibes, to the woods full of secret paths that surround the whole property. My guest raved about how gorgeous it was. The venue had everything we were looking for: historical house that was NOT a former plantation, gardens, and woods for an outdoor ceremony and pictures, as well as a fully enclosed tent to throw the large family wedding we were dreaming of. The Rust Manor staff are pros at running weddings and they are incredibly friendly, professional and supportive. I really felt like we were completely taken care of from the first interview through the wedding day. The venue comes fully equipped with the tent that has decorative lighting, tables, chairs, and a dance floor included. They even have a number of decoration supplies such as easels, shepherd hooks, and a cake cutting set, that the were able to let us use. No need to rent or buy most of the basics, Rust Manor has it all! Finally all of this comes at a price that is extremely competitive and, because it is owned by the Audubon Society and run by NOVA Parks, you can be sure your money is going to support good organizations and causes. I would absolutely recommend this venue for anyone who wants an elegant setting surrounded by nature, who wants the intimacy of feeling like they are in their own magical space away from the city and suburbia but without being too far from Washington DC. Joshua Born(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-10-2021 Rust Manor was one of the last venues my wife and I toured when shopping for our wedding venue. We were pleasantly surprised by our experience with the venue and ultimately chose it for both our ceremony and reception. Rust Manor sits on a large nature preserve. My wife wanted an outdoor, nature-in-autumn themed wedding, and the scenery of Rust Manor's property fit the bill perfectly. Furthermore, because Rust Manor is part of the NoVa Parks system, it is very reasonably priced to Virginia residents, compared with other, similar venues. Another thing that impressed us about the venue is that it is already rather pretty and requires a minimal amount of additional decoration for a wedding reception. Finally, the thing that put us over the edge of choosing Rust Manor was that the staff seemed to know what they were doing and were very responsive. You definitely get the impression that Rust Manor has done this many times before and that you are dealing with a well-oiled machine.Ultimately, our wedding went extremely well. I had 2 guests RSVP yes the week before the wedding and they were able to add them in the drink and dinner count. In addition to that, the venue is breathtaking. Guests could not believe how beautiful the gardens, house and tent were. I could go on and on but believe me when I say that you don't want to pass up on this gem right by downtown Leesburg! Mary Beth Shults(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-04-2021 My husband and I got married late August, 2021 at Rust Manor and it was the perfect venue for us. In the lead up, the team, especially Holly, were easy to get in touch with and helpful and flexible with all of our questions. They were really on top of scheduling our walk through and generally making sure we were ready for wedding day. The venue is beautiful and we made full use of it. It was important to us to have a nice suite for both us. We also got married in the garden, which was like a dream. We then had the cocktail hour at the manor, and the reception in the tent. We used the full venue and Rust made it look easy. That being said, the only downside is the required onsite caterer, Great Blue Heron. We did a pass through service for our food but the fee to serve the food by GBH was almost the same cost as our actual caterer, even without providing any food. Getting in touch with GBH was extremely difficult and they were difficult to work with. They didn't check in on final numbers until 2 weeks before the wedding. They also were not upfront about the costs of their service. The Rust Manor staff did everything they could to answer our questions about catering and worked with us on everything, even on the things that felt like GBH's job (like talking to our second caterer). However, the service the day of was really good. The wait staff took great care of us and made sure the guests were having a great time as well. Reviewed on 11-10-2021

On our actual wedding day (in November ), they suggested a change from a tent ceremony and cocktail hour to an outdoor setup so we could enjoy the unexpected 65 degree weather. It was just perfect. I can't believe they turned everything over so quickly. They were wonderful to work with and, at least to our knowledge, the day went off without a hitch! We hosted my daughter's wedding on Saturday, September 22, 2018, and the atmosphere was everything my daughter wanted: Elegance within a natural setting, combined with a professional, friendly, and gracious staff. Communication was top notch, ideas/advice were readily provided, and I could tell they were genuinely happy to have us.Great Blue Heron catering was also awesome! All of our guests were accommodated (allergens, vegetarian), and the food was scrumptious. In fact, I lost count as to how many people commented on how delicious the food was. Melanie Holland(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-09-2018 On our first visit to Rust Manor House, we knew we had found the venue for us. From the charming historic house, to the sprawling garden and large reception area, Rust Manor was the perfect place to facilitate our vision for an inside/outside wedding. Our guests socialized inside the house during the cocktail hour, and traveled outside to play lawn games (provided by Rust Manor as well)! When it was time for the reception, you walk across the beautiful grounds down into the reception tent. All the pathways outside are paved including a ramp down into the reception tent, which not only helped when walking down the aisle, but also made it easier for guests to move around -- our grandparents were especially appreciative. While the beauty and accessibility of the grounds speaks for itself, the hidden gems of Rust Manor are its staff. Paul and Jacquie, our POC’s throughout the process, as well as the rest of Rust Manor’s staff, were amazing. They were thoughtful in our conversations and meetings, creative in providing ideas and solutions during our indecisive moments, and incredibly responsive whenever we called or emailed with questions. From the very first time we met Paul when he showed us the venue, we knew this was the place where we wanted to have our wedding. The grounds and home are beautiful and well taken care of by the Rust staff. We especially loved the large evergreen trees behind the house, which kept greenery in our pictures, given our mid-April wedding. While it's common to hear people talk about how much work is involved in wedding planning, the staff at Rust made things so much easier. Jackie was always very responsive to emails and did so much to help our day go smoothly. We used the associated catering company, Great Blue Heron, and the food was delicious. Our guests kept coming up to us during the reception to tell us that they couldn't get over the quantity and quality of the food. Lily Saffer(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-03-2018 We literally cannot say enough good things about this venue! We fell in love initially because of its absolute beauty, and the fact that the site houses the audubon society and educates kids on nature conservation made us feel really good about using them. But we were continually so impressed by the staff's engagement, professionalism, and know-how. They were so organized and could answer any question right away. We did both our ceremony and reception there, and everything ran like a well oiled machine! They even had signature cocktails ready for the wedding party as we stepped into the house after the ceremony! Even more, it snowed about a foot the week of our March wedding, and we heard the staff worked a 25 hour shift to clear it away so everything could still go off a hitch. Demetria Cipriano(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-10-2017 I cannot explain how happy we were with Rust. The house and grounds are, of course, beautiful, and it is apparent that they are kept up with very well. Jackie was by far one of the best inclusions in our experience at Rust. She was incredibly patient, kind, responsive, and went above and beyond to ensure my wife and I were up-to-date prior to the wedding, and accommodated during. On that note, we had so much peace of mind knowing we, as a same-sex couple, were accepted by all staff at Rust. I cannot speak to that enough.Liz and the Great Blue Heron catering experience were all absolutely exceptional. She was so responsive and ahead of the game, and we felt like we were really on top of everything. It was really great that catering was in-house (and that Liz was a liaison in handling linens), as this eliminated a bunch of extraneous vendors to keep up with. The food was absolutely spectacular, and we never ran out at our buffet! We got a ton of compliments from every single one of our guests about how delicious the food was - my grandmother even said it was the best steak she had ever had. That is VERY high praise coming from her.Our only disappointment is that coffee and tea were not served, which is something we specifically asked for. And, like most weddings, full plates of food and full glasses of alcohol were taken by cleaning staff. Something that usually happens, but really shouldn't, considering everyone was enjoying the food and drink so much. All of that aside, we could not possibly be happier having had our wedding at Rust. We cannot thank all of you enough for being so wonderful and helping to make our special day beautiful. I urge anyone looking for a gorgeous outdoor venue (with ceremony and reception BOTH on-site - how convenient is that?!) and nifty enclosed reception tent, to rent Rust as your venue. The venue is absolutely beautiful, and the pricing is phenomenal for what is included. We were initially going to go with another venue, but once we visited Rust Manor House, we knew that this venue was “the one”. Paul was exceptionally accommodating and friendly while showing us around the property. After our initial visit, we worked with Jackie for the rest of our planning, which we mostly did by email as my husband and I live about two hours away from Leesburg. Jackie was just wonderful to work with, as she is very calm, cool, and collected and I felt incredibly comfortable with her knowledge and experience. Jackie was always very responsive to emails and was incredibly helpful throughout the whole wedding planning process. She made me feel very at ease every step of the way. \tI just can’t say enough about how beautiful this venue is. The location is also great since it is just outside of downtown Leesburg, and it is right near a major highway. I was so worried about the weather for our wedding day, as there was a chance of storms for our outdoor ceremony. Luckily there was a back-up plan available to have the ceremony inside the house. We were fortunate that it did not rain at all during the ceremony or reception, but I had peace of mind knowing that there was a plan for if it did storm. Another thing I love about this venue is how many things are included in the venue price. We didn’t have to worry about renting a reception tent, tables, chairs, etc., as they provide those at the venue already. We were able to use the beautiful bridal suite and the groom’s cottage for getting ready. I loved that the bridal suite is on the second floor of the house, and the groom’s cottage is in a separate building next to the house, so there was no chance that we would cross paths with each other before we did our “first look”.\tMy husband and I would absolutely recommend Rust Manor House to anyone looking for a wedding venue in the Northern Virginia area. It is a gorgeous location with many things included at a great price. If we had to do everything over again, we would definitely choose Rust Manor House again without a second thought. They were always available to answer any questions I had and even ones I hadn't though of yet! When it came time for our walk-through a few months before the wedding Paul was able to take what I had invisioned for both the inside of the house and the reception tent and make it happen. The inside of the house is gorgeous and my guest loved the old manor home feel. Quite possibly the only thing that can top the house are the grounds which are too beautiful to put into words. With all the greenery around it made the perfect setting for photos. (Side note: our guests also loved the lawn games!)Once it came time for everyone to head down to the reception tent our guests were blown away. I think a lot of them were doubtful about the local when I told them the reception would be in a tent (in the middle of July...) but almost every single person told me how beautiful it was and that they felt like this was an actuall ballroom. The new lights and chandeliers they put in gave the room the perfect and eveyrone greatly appreciated the new fans which kept all our guests cool throughout the evening. In addition, we were able to utilize the Bridal suite and Groom's cottage for the entire bridal party to get ready. Both areas were the perfect setting for those photos and allowed the bridal party to relax before things kicked off. Marieke Kester(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-11-2016 I cannot say enough great things about this venue and the staff. First of all, the booking process was straightforward and clear and the price was entirely reasonable -- also your money goes to the park system so you support land and historical site preservation and environmental education with your wedding money -- a definite plus in our books! Although you are sort of locked in to using the parks system caterer they did an adequate job and we were satisfied with that. Rust Manor staff were so helpful in every way and really set my mind at ease as we prepared. They were so professional but loving at the same time. We really felt well taken care of by Jackie and Paul! Now...the actual venue spaces! My gosh! What an incredible piece of property right in the heart of Leesburg! It was easy for guests to get to (they used uber mostly) and our photographer was positively gleaming with the possibilities of gorgeous photos at this venue. Those incredible trees are the main reason I booked this venue and the private garden behind the yard is excellent for an outdoor cocktail hour or sweet private photos. We took an insane amount of photos in the bridal suite (which is stupendous) and then moved into the hallways and foyer -- both with excellent natural light and so many possibilities for decorating! The rooms in the house are also pretty, each with a fireplace and ready to be filled with guests, appetizers, the bar, whatever! The outdoor spaces are perfect including the forest and a must-see meadow behind the building. The climate-controlled reception tent space was perfect and has an optional fire pit on the veranda as an additional gathering space. Only downsides to this venue are that the reception tent has porta-potties so if guests need a real bathroom they have to walk up to the manor house. BOOK THIS VENUE! Reviewed on 16-11-2016

They helped set up our floral display on the arbor and even went to the store to get more flowers since some of them died and fell off!The recommended catering company, Great Blue Heron, was also great. Their food was amazing. All the guests went on and on how good the food was at that it wasn't normal \"wedding\" food. One thing that I'd recommend they look into is having a cash bar for liquor. We were on the fence if we wanted to pay for a full package of alcohol which would include, beer, wine and liquor. It would have been ideal to offer a cash bar for liquor.
