Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort & Spa is a beachside wedding venue in Fort Myers, FL. Located on the stunning Punta Rassa on San Carlos Bay, this hotel offers a breathtaking ocean backdrop for you to exchange your vows. I came across the Sanibel Marriott after our original venue on Sanibel Island was severely damaged by Hurricane Ian, and I am so glad I did. Anne Marie responded to my initial inquiry almost immediately and then proceeded to assist me with planning for the next 13+ months, always responding timely. We conveniently did all of our wedding events here - rehearsal dinner cruise on the Princess, welcome party on Cove Terrace, Ceremony on Cove Beach and reception in the Island Ballroom. Anne Marie was there the whole time and made sure every event ran smoothly. She even went above and beyond as to check on us girls the morning of the wedding, kept track of all the vendors, and pinned the boutonnieres on the guys etc. There is no need for a day of coordinator here because Anne Marie is great and really had it all covered. This was a destination wedding for us and we had 62 guests join us, most of which stayed on site and got to enjoy the amenities (pool, etc.) everyone kept telling us how great the food was at every event. Overall it was a perfect weekend and I believe our guests really enjoyed their time as well. Highly recommend having your wedding events here!

We really lucked out with our lead onsite planner - Anne Marie. I am an Event Manager so of course I was apprehensive of trusting the hotel with all the small details. I had asked if they prefer us to hire a coordinator to help and they insisted they had it covered - and they did!! We can't thank the Marriott and Anne Marie enough. They were super accommodating and answered ALL my lengthy bulleted emails timely and efficiently. It was a great experience.

We were able to have our ceremony inside but had the beautiful views. Every single person we came into contact that worked there was incredible. From the minute we were greeted at valet, the front desk, the staff were so friendly and helpful! Most importantly, I cannot say enough about Anne Marie! She went above and beyond to answer every email, even when she was out of the country. She was there for every step of the way. She gave us multiple tours when different family members were available. On the day of the wedding she handled problems without me even knowing they existed! The food was also amazing!

The staff at Sanibel Harbour Marriott was amazing!From the day we took the tour with AnneMarie we knew we wanted to get married here! She walked around the entire property answered all our questions. When we left we thought of other things and AnneMarie got back to us right away.Our wedding had to be rescheduled due to hurricane Ian and the Marriott team was great about communicating the status of the hotel right away. When it was finally our wedding weekend all of the staff from valet, checking in, and the wait staff at restaurants and bars where all great.We had the perfect wedding and would recommend this destination to everyone.

Anne Marie was great through the entire wedding process. Our wedding was postponed due to hurricane Ian and she was available and willing to work with us to make our day extra special even with no power and limited cell service. The venue recovered quickly and is just as beautiful. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and nice throughout our entire stay. They offer just about everything you need for your perfect day. The food was really good and the staff was accommodating with a few guest with food allergies. Our day was perfect and I have to give most of that credit to Anne Marie and her amazing staff.

Doug Baker was amazing to work with. All of guests loved the venue and all want to go back again soon! The view is incredible, the food was amazing, the staff was great, rooms were clean, bartenders were awesome. This venue was magical. I can’t imagine having my wedding anywhere else. Spa was awesome , Chabeli and Corzi were great! Minor Constructive criticism: room block was difficult. We sold over 120 rooms and it was hard to contact the room block people and there were several issues with that so be on top of that. rooms were a bit hot, a/c could have been turned up as many guests were hot in both ceremony room and reception room. Our cake was thrown out without some guests getting to eat (many were outside on balcony and didn’t get the chance to notice and were quickly taken away), our lights were not turned off for dancing and it took me longer than it should have to find her. All minor things but overall an incredible experience. If you are booking here, you have to work with Doug Baker! He’s the best.

The wedding of my dreams! I used the resort for my entire wedding weekend. We rented the Princess Yacht for Friday night rehearsal/welcome party. Wedding day, we used the Island Room for our ceremony, Garden Room Veranda Balcony for the cocktail hour, and the Garden Room for our reception. Then brunch on Sunday in the Harbour View Room. Everything ran soooo smoothly, thanks to the incredible staff that the resort has. Doug Baker, was an absolute dream to work with. Doug is so diligent, professional, knowledgeable, efficient, etc. I would highly recommend this stunning venue for any event. It truly was the best day of my life and I have Doug and his staff at Sanibel Harbour Marriott to thank for that! Book with them, you won't regret it! :)

We selected the Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort & Spa for our April 30th Wedding. We had our ceremony and reception at the resort and all I can say is WOW, it was AMAZING! We were lucky enough to work with the wonderful Anne Marie. From when we initially looked at the venue over a year ago, up until the wedding weekend, she was simply the BEST! We live in Ohio, so doing a destination wedding can sometimes be a little stressful, however, I didn't feel stressed at all working with Anne Marie! We stayed in contact throughout the last year, and as we approached the big day, we were emailing almost daily. She was super quick to respond to any questions I had, and always had a solution. When the wedding day came, she took charge of everything. I got to enjoy the salon with my bridesmaids without worrying about a thing. She managed all of our vendors (DJ, Florist, Bakery, Reverend) along with the entire Marriott staff and we didn't have to do a thing other than enjoy our day. I cannot say enough great things about her, and honestly wish we could do the weekend all over again! I would highly recommend and encourage anyone looking to get married around the Sanibel or Ft Myers area to look at the Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort and use Anne Marie as your coordinator. We loved everything about the venue and her team! She made our day PERFECT!

What a wonderful experience it was to get married at the Sanibel Marriott Harbour Resort and Spa. My husband and I were very fortunate to have found this place as it offers a gorgeous location for weddings. We knew when we walked in that, we would be getting married there. Doug, our event coordinator at the hotel, was amazing; he truly made everything go smoothly. We can't thank him enough; he answered so many of our phone calls and got us the answers or help we needed. We were happy with the food both at cocktail hour and for dinner. The drinks were also good; Mixed drinks were perfect; not too strong nor weak. Sadly our initial plan to get married on the beach was put aside as the weather did not cooperate. Doug had already planned a backup indoor plan but the day before he showed a second better option (the gardens ballroom). We were overjoyed with our new ballroom for the wedding; it was gorgeous. Our reception was in the island room, which is probably one of the most beautiful rooms you can rent. It has beautiful panoramic water views. I can only imagine what our guests thought as we danced our first dance (which was an incredible choreographed routine but that's not part of this review) with a panoramic sunset view in the background. It was a magical experience for us. The hotel itself was great. The staff was also phenomenal. I have to give a shout out to our bellman, Nelson, who helped us both unpack and pack our car full of wedding decorations.

We had the rehearsal dinner in Tarpon House and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. The wedding reception was in the Island Ballroom and the staff was very attentive, entrees were outstanding, very clean with beautiful sunsets. You wont be disappointed

I would like to make a remarkable mention of Anne Marie. I don't even know where to start. We booked the wedding of one of my closest friends for October 31, 2021. We only had 2 months to put this together. I'm The wedding planner/bridesmaid. I communicated all the time with Anne-Marie talking about every single detail. We exchanged countless messages back and forth. I wrote some really late at night and let me tell you she replied to every single one of them and really fast. I can tell she likes what she does, she is friendly, makes you feel like everything is going flawless. She was my favorite person to deal with from all the wedding madness. I don't have enough words to thank her for all that she did. She made my job so much easier she understood me and guided me as I was also a bridesmaid. Thank you is not enough for me. These words that I'm writing now are from the newly weeds.AnneMarie we are so thankful to you!. You made our day so special, made us feel at ease, helping our dear friend with her madness of putting this wedding together for us in 2 months. We are really impressed. We had our wedding reception at Marriott Sanibel on Memorial Weekend. This was just the perfect location for a quick destination wedding.It was all about accommodation for us. We used the bridal room at the spa.I have to give it to the team over there, they were on time and made all my bridesmaids feel comfortable. We had such a great time getting ready. It was great!Leia, the catering coordinator, did an outstanding job during our whole planning process. She really made it easy for us!Leia was with us the day of, along with her assistant, Kelly. They actually gave my husband some company right before our first look at the beach location at the resort, which Leia reserved specifically for us for our photos. (My husband was very anxious and it was great having them there)After our reception, we walked up to our hotel room and Leia had provided us with food and drinks and even a bottle of champagne. THIS WAS THE BEST since the bride and groom were hungry following the reception.The rest of the party continued celebrating downstairs at Charley's Cabana Bar. We had our wedding reception at Marriott Sanibel on Memorial Weekend. This was just the perfect location for a quick destination wedding.It was all about accommodation for us. We used the bridal room at the spa.I have to give it to the team over there, they were on time and made all my bridesmaids feel comfortable. We had such a great time getting ready. We always wanted to do a destination wedding and the Sanibel Harbour Marriott checked off all of the boxes. We actually got engaged at this hotel and decided right then and there it would make for a perfect wedding venue. We were fortunate enough to work with some amazing staff members, specifically Leia, Doug, and Marisa. Everyone from the valet staff to the housekeepers made us feel welcome. Shout out to Steve and Mike from Valet who made sure everything made it to the correct rooms, Ricardo who worked by the pool and made sure we had everything we needed, and Casey who was an amazing server at our wedding giving extra plain bread to our picky eaters. We feel so blessed to have worked with such a phenomenal staff and an overall great hotel!

We had our wedding at Sanibel Harbour last weekend and it was a dream. Cove beach is an intimate setting, with beautiful sunset views and palm trees. The island room has panoramic windows with beautiful views. For a bride looking for a tropical beach wedding this is the place for you! If I could do it over again, I wouldn't change a thing. There were a few mishaps, we changed wedding coordinators mid way through the planning process, but when mistakes were made they were corrected and in a timely manner. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to visit for an anniversary one year.

The Sanibel Harbour Resort and Spa hosted our destination wedding on 11/8/18. We chose this location because my husband has been visiting here since he was a child and when he brought me here, I fell in love with it as well. PROS: The food was fantastic and exactly what we wanted. Our guests are still talking about how it was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding. Another great thing about this resort is that unlike other wedding venues in the area, they are very flexible and you can pretty much customize your wedding to exactly what you want while still keeping it affordable. The resort is absolutely beautiful, especially for an outdoor wedding, although there is a 10pm noise ordinance in effect, which means your wedding is over at 10pm.CONS: Unfortunately, our wedding did not go as we had planned due to the lack of attention to detail by the hotel. I sent back our wedding checklist a month before the wedding, which outlined the final details for our big day. We bought a DJ light and had arranged with PSAV (the hotel’s internal AV company) to set up the light for our reception. I met with the director of PSAV 2 days prior to the wedding to drop off the light and asked them numerous times to please contact my husband when it was set up so he could make sure that it was set up correctly to play along with the music. I was assured that the reception area would be set up by 2pm and that they would call my husband. My husband never received a call from PSAV. When we got to the reception we immediately noticed that the light was not working correctly because they didn’t have on the correct setting. Part of our contract with them was to have a microphone at the reception site. They didn’t have a microphone set up so my husband’s cousin had to shout to everyone over the music that the bride and groom were here. Because of the lack of microphone, we were not able to have a dinner prayer (which was very important to us) nor could we announce that dinner was available. Instead we had to walk up to each table and let them know that they could go make a plate. Included on the wedding checklist was also a sweetheart table, a box for cards and a vase to hold my bouquet. None of these were present when we arrived. My husband and I spent the first hour of our wedding communicating with the wedding coordinators for them to correct what should have already been done per the wedding checklist. One of our guests had a broken chair and the staff removed this chair but when our sweetheart table was set up, that same broken chair was given to my husband. The paper towel dispensers were not working and there was only 1 working stall in the women’s restroom and a broken sink in the men’s restroom. The next closest women’s restroom was upstairs so our elderly guests had to wait for an elevator to take them if the one working stall was occupied. I expect more from a Marriott hotel, especially when they know a wedding will be taking place. We had a taco bar and Cuban sandwich bar at our reception. Unfortunately, guests made plates of food and then set them at their table so they could go to the bar for a drink and when they came back, their food had been taken away! The food clearly hadn’t been touched! A waitress came to clear my plate as I was talking to a guest and I informed her I was still eating it. When I turned around, my plate was gone. The waitstaff did not use common sense when it came to clearing tables and so much food was wasted. We had 76 cupcakes delivered in lieu of a cake. Instead of bringing all of the cupcakes out at once so guests could choose from different flavors, they brought out about 15-20. Guests were confused thinking there were only a few cupcakes so they were reluctant to take one. The waitstaff even cleared uneaten cupcakes from the guest’s tables before they could be eaten. At the end of the night, my sister had a box of cupcakes to be taken back to the room and the waitstaff also took these. I don’t even know if all of the cupcakes ever made it out to the guests since they were not brought out all at once. I was informed that all uneaten food is then fed to the staff at the end of an event, so I wonder how much of our food was ‘cleared’ because of this exact reason. We had a 3-hour open bar with beer, wine and liquor. I can honestly say it was a huge waste of money because none of the guests who drank liquor even got buzzed. Some of the guests were drinking doubles and still didn’t feel anything. My husband and I are not big drinkers and we each had 5 mojitos and did not feel a thing. I addressed my concerns with our wedding coordinator regarding the liquor strength, wondering if it had been watered down and was assured that liquor is not watered down because it goes straight from the stockroom to the bar but they would ‘review the tapes’ to ensure this did not happen. I have never been updated on the outcome of this. If you’re planning your wedding at this resort, don’t waste your money on the liquor package, just go with beer and wine. Also, note that pitchers of water on the tables is not included, which I would think is standard for any event. If you book your wedding with Marriott, make sure you pay attention to every event check that is sent to you and go through it carefully. They tried to charge us $250 more for our bar package because they raised their bar prices after I had booked my wedding. The bartender at our reception was rude to many of our guests, including our mothers. One of the times my mother-in-law went up for a drink, he said that he had just made her one. She said that she set it down and the waitstaff took it. He told her to keep better track of her drinks. At the end of the open bar, she went up for a double vodka tonic and he said they were out. She pointed to the bottle and said it's right there. He said it’s not enough for a double shot. She told him to pour what he had. My mom tried to get a drink with 10 minutes left of the open bar and he tried to charge her. She said there’s still 10 minutes left and he continued to argue with her. These concerns were also brought up to our wedding coordinator and we were told that this is not the type of service Marriott is known to provide and their IT and General Manager would ‘review the tapes’. I am not sure how they would determine rudeness from soundless video footage but again, we never heard the outcome of their findings. We did ask for money to be refunded on our bar package because of these 2 issues and were told they were unable to do that. We are very upset now hearing all of this because not only is his rudeness completely unacceptable but we paid for an open bar and it wasn't up to the bartender to police our guests.My friends and I decided to rent the bridal suite at the resort so we could all get ready together. It was a $600 room rental which included champagne mimosas, water, tea, coffee and small sandwiches. There was only 1 bottle of champagne for 9 girls. When the champagne ran out, my aunt asked if they could bring another bottle up but was told that I had only ordered 1 bottle. When I booked the room rental and all hair appointments for my guests, I was only asked what kind of juice and sandwiches we wanted, never about how many bottles of champagne would be needed. Some of the girls didn't get any champagne. The room was not what you would expect when you hear ‘bridal suite’. Along with my hair, I had my make-up done at the spa as well. I have blonde hair and light eyebrows so in order to make my eyes ‘pop’, the make-up artist colored in my eyebrows but I kept saying they were too dark. She kept trying to ‘lighten’ them with more make-up to a shade that I was more comfortable with but I could tell she was getting irritated. When it came to choosing a lipstick, I thought I needed a light pink to really brighten everything up. I did not like the first color she chose. She continued to layer on more colors, which made it darker. I explained that I wanted it lighter and apologized, saying I wasn’t trying to be difficult. When she turned around to grab another color, we saw her roll her eyes in the mirror and sigh a few times. We were disappointed in the price considering the condition of the room and the customer service. A perk of booking a wedding with Marriott is the choice of double frequent flyer miles or Marriott Rewards for hotel rooms. We chose the frequent flyer miles. A month and a half after my wedding, I had to reach out to ask when I should expect my miles to be added to my airline account because they still hadn’t been applied. I was told I had to open a Marriott Rewards account and link it to my airline profile. Once I did that, I figured it would be seamless. I kept checking my airline account and noticed under frequent flyer miles it showed 0 miles had been applied from the Marriott. I reached back out to my contact at Marriott and was told that I needed to contact Marriott Rewards directly to figure this out. I spoke with Marriott Rewards and she told me I had to contact the airline. When I called the airline, I was told I had to contact Marriott Rewards and speak with a supervisor. After an hour and a half of phone calls, it was finally resolved and the miles were added to my account. Another example of Marriott’s ‘stellar’ customer service. After the wedding, we met with our wedding coordinator and discussed all of our concerns regarding our wedding. After two and a half months and countless emails, Marriott has refunded a small portion of our money. We are still not satisfied with the resolution considering the bar issues mentioned above but can see that Marriott is not willing to budge. We really thought we would receive a call from the General Manager or Director of Operations because of all Marriott’s errors with our wedding, but never received one. We told our wedding coordinator that we planned on bringing our friends and family back every year on our anniversary and have the hotel host a party as well as host corporate events through my husband’s business. After Marriott dropped the ball on one of the most important days of our lives in addition to the total lack of hospitality, we will never host another event with them.

I can’t get over how perfect our day was. This would not have been possible without the help of Leia Sobieralski and the Marriott team. From the moment we walked into the resort we fell in love. We had our wedding at the Sanibel Harbor Marriott and it couldn’t have been more perfect! Everything was stunning! Courtney was our wedding coordinator and she made sure everything went smoothly! We decided to have a weekend celebration as many of our guests were coming from out of town. The rehearsal dinner at the courtside steakhouse was excellent! From the ambiance to the food, I couldn’t have asked for more. The wait staff there was overly attentive and accommodating. Following the rehearsal dinner we had a poolside welcome party so guests could mingle and have snacks/cocktails. It was so much fun that everyone stayed up later than expected! The Island room was where the wedding ceremony took place (absolutely gorgeous views) with cocktail hour on the veranda and reception in the Everglades ballroom. The guests still tell me to this day (6 months later) that the food was delicious and everything was beautiful. Even the bartenders got rave reviews for the signature cocktail!! Brunch was also a HUGE hit in the tarpon room. I couldn’t not say anything negative about our experience at Sanibel Marriott. Courtney and the staff were courteous and clearly pros at their jobs! I told my husband I was sad to leave!! I wouldn’t change a thing about that weekend and the overall planning of our wedding. First Rate all the way!

We had our wedding at the Sanibel Harbor Marriott and it couldn’t have been more perfect! Everything was stunning! Courtney was our wedding coordinator and she made sure everything went smoothly! Hosted our rehearsal dinner on the Princess Yacht, which made it extra special for our mostly out of state guestlist that doesn't get to enjoy the open water very often. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a wedding venue.Courtney was amazing to work with and made the process entirely stress free. She has a great staff around her and we did not have to worry about anything. She is Top Notch and will make your wedding extra special!!!

When I first started my search for where we would have the wedding, the sanibel Marriott was high up on my list. After viewing the location, I saw they had everything we were looking for. Our wedding coordinator Kaitlyn Johnson was beyond amazing. I cannot sing her praises enough. She handled the situation with such consideration and care. Even when all of a sudden the outdoor beach wedding I was dreaming of was all of a sudden indoors, ms. Johnson really helped to create a beautiful, unforgettable wedding for us. There are not enough words to say how amazing Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort & Spa is! Our wedding last month was absolutely beautiful. We had our ceremony on Cove Beach, Cocktail Hour on the Veranda, and the Reception/Dinner in the Island Ballroom. The flow from area to area was spot on and everything was handled so professionally. As the bride I never had to lift a finger to do anything the day of. Courtney Kraft and her awesome team handled everything! They set up the areas with any decorations I brought them and they worked with our vendors Seaside Strings and LadyCakes directly. If something changed last minute Courtney and her team handled it without ever really having to get me or the groom involved. The resort is top notch and the customer service is fantastic! The food is also amazing! Our destination wedding was a hit with our guest because of the Resort and the amazing people that work there. We have never been treated so nicely and been cared for so much in our lives then at this resort. Highly recommend!

I absolutely loved having my wedding here. It was a destination, and Anne Marie (wedding coordinator) could not have been more helpful. She was very responsive and helpful prior to the wedding, and could not have made it easier on me the week we were there. \r\rThe hotel in general is amazing. It went above and beyond my expectations. Everyone goes out of their way to be accommodating. Everyone had such a fabulous time, and I did not hear any complaints.\r\rAnd OMG the food was amazing! I had multiple people tell me it was the best wedding food they've ever had. \r\rThe only thing, is request to have everyone in your group in the main tower. There are different towers, and some people got another tower. \r\rI highly recommend having your wedding here.

Laura Lease was my wedding coordinator. She was very professional, organized, and easy to work with. My ceremony took place at the Cove Beach. The beach is beautiful, but small. My reception was in the gorgeous Island Room. We had a plated dinner with a four hour open bar. The food and drinks were delicious, but expensive. The wait staff during dinner was amazing. They were really on top of everything.

Our daughter's wedding at the Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort and Spa was fabulous. From our first meeting with wedding coordinator, Laura Lease to the breakfast buffet the morning after the wedding - everything was exceptional. I can't commend Laura Lease enough. She attended to every detail, answered phone calls and emails promptly, followed through on what she said she would do and worked cooperatively with all the other vendors. While our wedding was very small, we received quality care and attention. As the mother of the bride, I was able to enjoy the entire wedding weekend. Additionally, all of our guests commented about the exceptional customer service displayed by all the Marriott employees. Great experience for such an important event.

I was very impressed with the banquet coordinators (Robin and Adele). Their dedication, attention to detail, and timeliness did not go unnoticed. We had the rehearsal dinner on the Princess Cruise and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. The wedding reception was held the following night in the Gardens ballroom and the staff was very attentive, entrees were outstanding and most guests served at nearly the same time. Very clean and beautiful property. Highly recommend.

The resort is gorgeous and the service is absolutely wonderful, however if you have a small group, prepare to pay quite a bit per person to meet the minimum. Everyone we worked with bent over backwards to make sure that everthing was perfect and all of the guests are still talking about how wonderful it was and how much they enjoyed the weekend.

The Sanibel Harbour Resort was going through a lot of change when I originally booked my wedding date. Little did I know I'd go through an acquisition and two wedding coordinators when I picked this beautiful resort for my big day. I was nervous about day-of logistics, catering, rooms for my guests and customer service. I was pleasantly surprised after a few hiccups throughout planning how the new Sanibel Harbour Marriott took care of me. Being in the event planning industry, the few months leading up to the day, my wedding coordinator was fabulous. She was diligent, kept me on track with my deadlines and offered numerous suggestions on how to keep me within budget & still host a fabulous reception. I received nothing but wonderful comments from my guests from the moment they stepped foot at the resort. I have a lot of seasoned travelers in my group and some who are very tough to please – they even went above and beyond to give SHM praise. Thanks again for everything! Most of all thank you for making our one and only day very memorable.
