Savor at River House is a luxurious restaurant wedding venue located in Louisville, KY. Created by award-winning chef John Varanese, this property has been beautifully renovated for modern celebrations that run long into the night. Situated along the banks of the Ohio River, this splendid venue boasts not only lavish interiors with stunning natural vistas. There are four main event spaces within the Savor at River House which can accommodate up to 300 guests. These rooms feature a plethora of bespoke decorations, modern furnishings, and a neutral color scheme that allows you to implement your own style on your special day. The main event space is a beautifully ballroom-style area that has ample space for seated dining, a dance floor, and live entertainment. This room includes panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows and doors that lead to an outdoor balcony. This open-air balcony features chairs, tables, and views of the river. Separate event areas include the Wine Tasting room which is ideal for small cocktail hours and intimate dinners. As you would expect, there are a plethora of catering services to flawlessly complement your celebrations. Led by John Varanese, your cuisine can be displayed in a variety of ways including hors d'oeuvres, live stations, carving stations, and more. While browsing through this caterer’s menu, you will discover an array of dishes that are inspired by cuisine from around the world. You can pick and choose your meals to ensure that all of your guests are fully satisfied. Upon booking your special day, this venue’s dedicated events staff will be on-hand to make sure that your wedding runs as smoothly as possible. They can lead the complete setup and breakdown of all decor, allowing you to focus on more meaningful matters. Everything about this venue and the people involved made our day perfect. James and Angie made the day run so smoothly and if there were any hiccups, they had it fixed immediately. The staff also was amazing. They were all so quick with getting the guests what they wanted, they were so friendly, and also so much fun! I actually chose this vendor because of the event coordinators.

We had a wonderful experience at Savor from early on on the planning stages to our rehearsal dinner event! The venue was beautiful, the service outstanding, the food was delicious. We were so happy with everything . I would highly recommend choosing Savor at the River house for your special event.

We hosted our son's rehearsal dinner at Savor in May 2023. Everything was perfect! It is a beautiful venue, fabulous food and service with a gorgeous room overlooking the Ohio River. James, Angie and the entire staff were wonderful to work with and helped make the evening a success. As mother of the groom, I was able to enjoy the evening with family and friends while James and Angie took care of EVERYTHING!

Savor was the perfect place to have our daughter’s wedding. It was so beautiful for her outdoor wedding, and then an easy transition upstairs to the reception. James is wonderful to work with and truly anticipated all of our needs. Food was delicious. All of the staff was friendly. I had so many compliments from our guests.

We had our wedding reception at Savor in April 2023 and everything was absolutely perfect! The food was incredible, and the venue itself is gorgeous with a beautiful outdoor patio that overlooks the river. James was amazing to work with. He made sure every request was accommodated and ensured that all the details throughout the months of planning, and on the day of were seamless. On the day of our reception, James, Angie, and the entire staff were WONDERFUL!! Every single person we encountered at Savor was so helpful, kind, and professional. James made sure to check in with us and our parents throughout the evening to make sure we had everything we needed. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding day, we are so appreciative to the Savor team for making it an absolute dream. I cannot recommend this venue enough!!

This is an exceptional venue! Situated on the banks of the Ohio River with beautiful views. But the most wonderful things about RiverHouse are the food and the service. We hosted a large event in their ballroom and couldn’t have asked for better cuisine or more personal service. Truly a Louisville gem.

We had our annual Gala at Savor at River House and we can’t wait to come back!! James, Dan, and Angie made the night flawless. The staff was always there, the food was exceptional, and there were changes that had to happen on the fly and no one noticed!! The night was seamless! Whether you use the entire space or just some of it, there set up flows so very well. Our Gala was awesome and we can’t wait to work with them again this year!! Thank you Savor Team!!

We had my son’s rehearsal dinner at Savor and everything was superb thanks to James and staff. Planning was easy for layout, dinner menu and pre-dinner cocktail reception, servers were attentive and the evening was stress-free. The location could not have been any more picturesque, overlooking the Ohio River for a beautiful backdrop. A wonderful venue spot with many options!

We had our rehearsal dinner at Savor at River House and I highly recommend this place for special gatherings. From the beginning, James was very helpful going over all the options and offering suggestions when ask. Our guests raved about the food, especially the appetizers which were served \"family style\". The setting upstairs overlooking the Ohio was gorgeous and a beautiful back drop for photos. The servers were fantastic~ no one had to ask for a thing- they were on top of everything. It was a fantastic evening and I had zero stress with the event thanks in part to a very efficient and professional team at Savor.

We got married at Savor in June 2022. It was an absolutely perfect day! James helped us to plan the wedding of our dreams and was an absolute joy to work with. He really is a gem. As was all of the other staff that assisted with our wedding, really A+ service. James was able to answer all of our questions in a timely manner and worked with vendors when necessary. By the end of it, he felt like a friend!The food was fantastic as well--many people said it was the best wedding food they've had! The filet really was to die for.Our ceremony was on the river and was beautiful. The cocktail hour and reception areas are beautiful as well, minimal decorations needed. Having our wedding in a space where the ceremony, reception, F&B, tables, chairs, linens, etc., is all handled by one vendor made for a truly easy wedding planning process.If I could do it all again, I wouldn't change a thing.

My husband and I got married here in September 2021 and honestly it was all a dream. James was incredible to work with and made sure all my requests were accommodated. When it poured with rain the day before and day of our wedding - the team at Savor figured out how to move our ceremony inside and make it a seamless transition from ceremony to reception. The food was incredible, service top notch, and I couldn’t have asked for a better more beautiful space to get married in. Highly recommend having your event/wedding here !!!

I was looking for somewhere to have a rehearsal dinner for 80+ people next year. I called on a Monday about getting a tour of the event space. No one called me back until Wednesday. James called and said he would call me later that day to set up a time for a tour for Saturday. I never heard back so I called on Saturday to see what time they could take me through with my mother in law. Courtney was so rude and so unaccommodating. This will easily be a 8k+ dinner with the amount of people and alcohol that will consumed. It is sad I would have to beg for someone to take my money. We were in between River House and Vincenzos. After the poor treatment we received from River House the decision was clear. Vincenzos staff has been amazing!

James Dutton (Manager) I grew up in the great white north of Wisconsin and love everything Lake Michigan! Over my 18 years in hospitality, I have had a ton of different experiences in a variety of different roles. Weddings are by far my favorite events! I find the detail and the planning leading up to the big day inspiring and fun. I look forward to working with you and making your big day as unique and as special as you!
