Scholls Valley Lodge is a captivating wedding venue located in Hillsboro, OR. Situated just minutes outside Portland on a hilltop surrounded by farmland, this venue offers couples their personal oasis to celebrate your love. Offering breathtaking views in all directions, the Scholls Valley Lodge provides an unforgettable wedding experience in a natural setting. Part of the Vial family farm, Scholls Valley Lodge was originally a working farm and home to 13 children and a gathering place for family and friends. When all kids moved away from the lodge, it was renovated into the beautiful event center it remains today. The space was carefully remodeled, boasting beautiful hardwood flooring, sliding barn doors, and exquisite bird art. Keeping its historic charm and sentimental value, the venue retains its family spirit, where shared love and community are felt in every nook and cranny. The venue boasts a stone patio, spacious lawn and barnyard on its property, providing beautiful backdrops to every space. Couples may host their nuptial celebrations indoors and outdoors, allowing for up to 300 people to attend. Indoor seated options accommodate up to 80 guests comfortably too. Scholls Valley Lodge welcomes outside vendors on the day and will work alongside them, ensuring smooth event planning and execution. The property also has on-site accommodation available for out-of-town guests so that no one has to miss out on the celebrations. Allowing for up to 32 people to stay, the property is ideal for wedding retreats, accommodating rehearsal dinners, ceremonies, and receptions in one venue. The wheelchair-accessible venue can provide event rentals, including dishware, flatware, wedding suites, and ample parking. Wireless internet is also available throughout the property.

Scholl’s Valley Lodge was the PERFECT venue for us! We arrived the night before the wedding to have the rehearsal dinner and stayed over for the wedding night as well. It was so convenient having a large house to host people from out of town, and plenty of room to spread out. The grounds and views are beautiful and the staff all very friendly, communicative, and easy to work with. This venue allows a lot of flexibility with vendor selection, has plenty of parking for 100+ people, and in the event of rain we easily could have moved everything under the barn or even gone inside the mansion-cabin-house. My only suggestion if you book this place is to pay just that tiny bit extra for their staff take down the tables and chairs afterwards. We were a bit too committed to the DIY approach and out post-wedding morning would have been a bit more relaxing if we (and a few guests) didn’t have to put all the equipment away ourselves. Honestly though, could not have been happier with SVL, highly recommend.

Scholls Valley Lodge is one of those places that you fall in love with immediately. We looked at a lot of venues for a long time and this spot was perfect. The vineyards, barn, lodge, big trees, and farm land make this just a gorgeous rustic wedding location. SVL is a vacation rental so when you're there you have the entire venue to yourself and while they have preferred caterers and other vendors you can use whoever you'd like. We primarily worked with Emily and she was always friendly and helpful. One thing to keep in mind before you book is that they are extremely particular with their contract. Emily and I had several chats about adding things to our contract for some flexibility and she was excellent at communicating with me. I would highly recommend Scholls Valley for any event- just be aware that if you are renting for just one day or one day + an overnight that vendor arrival times and things are different if you aren't renting the lodge for the whole weekend - make sure to just be open and communicate so you're all on the same page about your timeline/plan and their contract.

I can't express how simply beautiful the day was and smooth everything went. Thank you Scholls Valley, Michelle, Paula and parking attendees for making it all possible. As the mother of the bride, I must confess being overwhelmed that day had nothing to do with location, just nerves of making sure everything went OK. Let me tell you, ALL went fabulous. Every single guest left saying what a beautiful wedding and reception it was, and of course the first mentioned was the location. The natural beauty of this place is just breathtaking and the staff is easy to work with, very professional and very accommodating. Thank you thank you thank you for making it all possible.

A beautiful property so poorly managed. Every bride I know has had a poor experience with the wedding coordinator. Brides are made to feel like a bother and are directed to “the manual” with any questions.They were not forgiving through covid and tried to intimidate us with lawyer talk. Though my wedding was in July they refused a full refund.After keeping a portion of my money I asked if I could have the venue for the original night to take pictures. They accepted and told me the venue would be empty. Instead, they held an event the same night. This made portions of the venue completely una so le to us. I had their people walking through the field as we took pictures and cars were driving around and parking in front of the lodge. My photographer and family felt it was extremely unprofessional and unkind.No apologies or efforts to make it right. With no warmth, I was told, “I hope you were able to get some good picture despite the interruptions“. My heart still hurts for the money they kept and the lack of sympathy in such a difficult time.

I would give this venue 10 stars if I could! Michelle Larson made our experience here seamless. The views from every angle are beautiful. The lodge is incredible with its beautifully appointed rooms, huge living spaces, we’ll equipped kitchen and a deck with beautiful rocking chairs looking over the valley. They were easy to work with for our vendors and wedding planner. We are seriously talking about a reunion trip!

Scholl’s Valley Lodge is an amazing venue with beautiful views. All our wedding guests were complimenting us on the venue. We loved how we could have all our different events in different areas. (i.e. the ceremony on the lawn, cocktail hour in the lodge/grass underneath the lodge, and reception in the barn). The barn is just a fantastic spot for a reception. It’s huge and easily fit our wedding of 200 guests that showed, and the pre set up lights are very pretty when it starts to get dark, providing plenty of light. The rules are pretty flexible for adding your own decor in then barn if desired too. Michelle, the venue owner, was incredibly helpful and responsive to my nonstop emails and calls during the planning phase. During the venue walk through she made herself available to us and the other vendors for all questions. Also the close proximity of the venue to Portland is a much underrated aspect of the venue. Uber and Lyft were readily available for guests when leaving.

Absolutely stunning venue. Michelle is wonderful to work with and we received so many compliments on the venue. It's very versatile since there is so much lawn space, patio space, inside the lodge itself, and the barn area so there are so many ways to plan the flow of the day. Lyft and Uber will drive to this location in case guests would like to drink, as well as plenty of parking. You have the freedom to bring in vendors you choose, which is really nice. I know that sometimes venues require that you use certain vendors, which can add to the price tag, so that was a great perk for us that we had freedom in that regard.

I don't even know where to start. Scholls Valley Lodge was the most perfect venue I could have ever imagined. I'll first start by saying that Michelle, the property manager, was an absolute joy to work with. She was so responsive and let us come out to the venue several times before the big day. Michelle was flexible and really cared about our day going right which meant a lot. Anyways, there are several reasons why SVL was perfect.1) The setting is unreal. It is set on top of a hill and you get a near 360 view of the rolling hills and fields. The lodge and barn are gorgeous and everything feels very authentic. My mom likes to say elevated rustic :)2) We were in control of everything. We were able to bring in our own caterer, tables, chairs, etc. It was great to have this level of flexibility3) We were there for the entire day which was great. The girls and I arrived around 8:30am to begin getting ready (in the cutest rooms too) which was nice because we were able to relax and take our time. Our guests were out by around 10pm4) THE VIEW. I'm so happy with the backdrop for both our ceremony (trees, fields, and farmland) and our reception (wildflowers and the mountains). You really can't beat itWe went to maybe 10 other venues before SVL and this was the first place that felt right. HIGHLY recommend.

I don't even know where to start... indoors and outdoors accommodations. Access to a lighted \"barn area\" if inclement weather happens . Full kitchen, tables, chairs, linens, podiums, speakers, microphones, easels , I just cant even remember it all! The property and the trees can be lit up for night time ambience. YOU CAN STAY THE NIGHT!! we added an overnight stay for the bridal party, some close family members and close friends. We stayed too, it was a great wedding night! If you feel restricted by some of the other venues , if the prices are making your head spin for how little freedom you have or what you are really getting then I highly recommend the lodge! Michelle was very easy to work with and the prices were really unbeatable for the exclusive use. A big thank you to the Scholls Valley Lodge and the families involved for offering such an amazing venue to the public!!! I could not have had a better day than my wedding, every guest GUSHED continuously about the property all night and for weeks past. Thank you thank you thank you!!!

Beautiful venue, that is very accommodating for a large group. We chose to book the venue for three nights, and that was very helpful to set up all our decorations and prepare for the big day. The main lawn is the perfect place for a summer wedding, and the barn makes for a great reception. The owner can be difficult to reach at times, and I believe that is due to how busy this venue is. Additionally, we didn't receive our full deposit due to something we felt was out of our control. That was very disappointing, but I absolutely would recommend this place to anybody. A day we will never forget!

We had a wonderful wedding at Schools Valley Lodge! The lawn ceremony was beautiful with the barn reception to follow. Having the lodge to stay on the night before was so nice because we were able to be more flexible about what time other vendors or any rentals arrived. Only downsides were, its kinda windy because its on top of a hill so no open flames are aloud, and the venue doesn't own their own set of outside chairs like I've seen some other places do. So many other positives that exponentially out way the negatives. Great people and great view!

From the first day we saw this venue during initial explorations, till the last minute we left the venue after the wedding, we LOVED it. Not only me, my beautiful bride, our parents and all relatives who stayed with us during the wedding fell in love with the place, and praised our decision for picking such a wonderful venue. Venue:The lodge has 7 rooms, one based MIL apartment and plenty of pullout beds enough to sleep ~25 people. All this with a fully stocked kitchen, a great living room, dining area. We had around 20 in our party, including people from ages 9 - 72 and all of them had a wonderful experience. We rented the lodge for 4 days and 3 nights, and had 2 different wedding ceremonies (Hindu and Western) and 2 receptions over there. What is provided if your event is in the lodge: -The lodge has an indoor great room and a barn, so people can pick and choose if they want to have their events indoors and/or outdoors. We used a mix of both, as they are both available when you rent the lodge. -All the rooms and the MIL apartment can be used by guests. Our guests including us were greatly satisfied with our stay there. - the MOST beautiful view, including sunrise and sunset you can ever see from the rooms of the lodge. -Plenty of rooms for bride and groom to get ready separately. -They have abundant decorative items. We used the lodge's inventory to decorate our mandap/altar with the help of friends and family. No additional rental required for decoratives. -They have their own chinaware, so people don't have to rent these. -They have mushroom heaters onsite which can be used for events free of charge. -They have a stocked kitchen available for guest use. -They have a pool table, and piano if people want to chill and relax. I remember while the elders played pool, the little kids in our party would play piano.-Free parking for ~70 cars.The lodge manager, Michelle, is wonderful to work with. She has a list of vendors who they've worked with in the past. Even though everyone is welcome to find their own vendors, we felt that the list she already had provided us with the best vendors in the area. Michelle was always available, either in person or by phone when we needed any help or advice regarding lodge inventory, advice on vendors, visit to see the venue or dimensions of something specific such as the length of a panel we wanted to decorate etc. The lodge also provided us help with covering up the barn for additional heating for our reception (Oregon in February can be cold). Our families loved the lodge and the natural beauty surrounding it. We will certainly consider it for future events. I hope this detailed review helps anyone making a decision about hosting their special event at the Scholls Valley Lodge.

Michelle was always available, either in person or by phone when we needed any help or advice regarding lodge inventory, advice on vendors, visit to see the venue or dimensions of something specific such as the length of a panel we wanted to decorate etc. The lodge also provided us help with covering up the barn for additional heating for our reception (Oregon in February can be cold). Our families loved the lodge and the natural beauty surrounding it. We will certainly consider it for future events. I hope this detailed review helps anyone making a decision about hosting their special event at the Scholls Valley Lodge.

Absolutely wonderful venue lots of flexibility in the layout. Incredibly easy to work with and couldn't have been happier with the way everything worked out. This is a great place with lots of weather flexibility in the NW and I have already recommended the lodge to several people who are planing their weddings.

Meet the Scholls Valley Lodge Team
This was the home I grew up in, originally a working farm and home to 13 children. It was always a gathering place for family and friends. After all the children moved away, it was given new life with a complete remodel and turned into an event center. We're so happy the tradition of gathering can live on with you and your family and friends.
