Oh, where do I even begin singing the praises of Semiahmoo Resort? πβ¨ As a bride who said \"I do\" in this coastal paradise and a seasoned photographer capturing the magic of weddings, I can unequivocally declare that Semiahmoo is the epitome of PNW coastal wedding perfection!First off, let's talk about the setting β it's like a dreamy canvas painted with the hues of the Pacific Northwest. The breathtaking coastal views at Semiahmoo make it the best choice for couples who want their big day to unfold against a backdrop of pure, unadulterated beauty. Now, let's dive into the culinary delights β being connoisseurs of the finest wild-caught seafood, my hubby and I were absolutely blown away. From presentation to taste, Semiahmoo never fails to impress. A decade later, and my hubby is still raving about our wedding dinner β talk about leaving a lasting impression! One thing that stood out for us was the seamless orchestration of the entire event. The staff at Semiahmoo are not just polite and helpful, but they have this magical ability to blend into the background, ensuring your special moments are captured without any unintentional photobombs. It's like they have an eagle eye for making sure everything runs like a well-choreographed dance.Having experienced Semiahmoo from both sides β as a bride and a wedding photographer β I can't help but be continually impressed by how they consistently nail it. The joy, the romance, the timeless beauty β Semiahmoo captures it all effortlessly. If you're a couple envisioning a luxurious coastal wedding in the PNW, look no further. Emily Talkov(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-08-2022 We booked with this venue about 2 years before our big day. I would highly recommend either being a planner or having a wedding planner than using them as your sole event planner. If you are a bride or couple who needs quick responses, be warned, responses are SLOW. I am not sure if this is because of the size of their team or what but we continuously throughout the whole wedding planning process got answers to our questions about 2 weeks out after sending follow ups. OR did not get answers at all and had to ask again. With that said, working with them in person was so much better.Fast forward to the weekend of - they gave away the bonfires we booked for our welcome party with 70 guests attending... We were told we would get 1 bonfire, mind you we paid for 2, we toured and they pointed to the 2 and yet this happened. It was worked out in the end but it was added stress no one needed. On day of they tried to setup for an event right behind my ceremony on the lawn. Imagine your aisle being a walk through white tables and chairs... of someone else's event... with someone else's decor in all your photos and videos that you paid to have shot by your videographer and photographer. More added stress but luckily my own planner got them moved.Even though I can complain about all of the above and the planning process being painful - the event was executed as I had envisioned in the end, pretty sure it was all due to my own planner, but the venue was beautiful and the wedding turned out perfect. If you are willing to go through the possibilities of the above then I would recommend. Would I go through it all again to have the night we had? Probably, and that is why I am giving a 4/5. Reviewed on 03-09-2022
Lauren Beckett(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-08-2020 Covid wedding planning. Can I just send my love to every bride out there, and can I say that you need to save yourself the heartache and call Semiahmoo! We had re-planned our day so many times I lost count. The rules kept changing. I was exhausted. I had family coming from out of town, and finding accommodations daunting. Que Semiahmoo... we found a place for all our guests to stay. We could get our hair done there, our makeup done there, dinner on the beach... so easy! We decided to book with them a week before our wedding, and they were fantastic. Brianna and Desi are THE BEST. We had a small ceremony on the beach where people were able to stand or sit and to accommodate social distancing. We had the best bonfire on the beach with our closest friends and loved ones after. We had a beautiful stay at the hotel for 2 nights. It was an amazing opportunity to not only get married, but enjoy a weekend getaway with our family. The grounds were superb. The dedication to safety and cleanliness was top notch. My family is STILL raving about how perfect the day turned out. Everyone was so anxious for this wedding, and when it came time to leave on Saturday morning, we all looked at each other wishing we could go do the whole thing all over again because it was an absolute blast! Thank you, Semiahmoo. You took a day I was starting to dread due to Covid and made it better than I could have ever imagined. Reviewed on 01-09-2020
Sara Lanis(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-08-2020 I highly recommend this venue for a wedding. I got married during the pandemic and they went above and beyond to accommodate the event. Their customer service was excellent! All our guests were blown away with the beauty of the location and the kindness of everyone working at the hotel. If I could rate this place 10 stars, I would! All I can say is, get married here! Reviewed on 18-08-2020
Sarah Moline(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-04-2019 We had our April wedding at Semiahmoo and had a wonderful time! Our guests LOVED the location and came from as far away as Sweden! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Thank you for making our day special! Reviewed on 26-04-2019
Lindsey Halverson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-09-2018 I was looking for a unique venue for our wedding that was close enough to be realistic for friends to attend but far enough away for a weekend of fun with everyone in one place. I know how quickly weddings can go by and wanted to spend more than 30 seconds with family that had traveled across the country. I also was averse to a hotel ballroom wedding, which left very few options. I was getting a bit discouraged until we came to Semiahmoo. The drive in was beautiful, the touches inside felt nice but approachable, and the ability to have the ceremony and reception on the dock/tent was awesome. It was an easy choice to say yes to, especially since we had the lovely Deborah to show us around and make us feel comfortable! We got married in mid-September. To our dismay, it was pouring down rain all day. My awesome day-of coordinator (Alissa from Gather Events) worked alongside Deborah all day to move from Plan A all the way to Plan D...a plan we hadn't even accounted for! We're so grateful that the staff and vendors were on-board because come ceremony time, the clouds cleared and we were able to have our ceremony under some sun on the dock! Despite the weather complicating things, our wedding day was an absolutely dream come true. All our guests raved about the venue and the food and said they had so much fun. My friends are still talking about what a great time they had being there all weekend. My husband and I just GUSHED for days about how perfect everything was and how in love we were with all the memories we had made. The venue comes with a price (and pricey add-ons if you want them), but at the end of the day, it's all worth it. They're professionals and know how to execute a great event. I have to give so many kudos to Deborah. She is such a genuine gem of a human. We never felt like we were getting the sales pitch - we felt like she truly cared about our special day and our happiness. She had our backs throughout the entire planning process and was always patient and available whenever we needed her. She's incredibly genuine and loving. We were in such great hands with her on our wedding day and couldn't be more thankful that she came into our lives. Reviewed on 30-11-2018
Sonja Nordmark(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-08-2018 If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!! What an amazing venue to work with! It has been a pleasure working with Deborah & her staff over the last year as I planned our wedding. We chose Semiahmoo for several reasons; however, the one that resonates the most was that we always felt that they understood how important our wedding was to us! Semiahmoo Resort is also close enough for our guests to come for an evening if they wanted, but also a great opportunity for a weekend getaway!Deborah was extremely easy to work with & when I had questions, she had an answer. We had our ceremony on the dock with a cocktail hour to follow. As guests left their seats at the dock, they were welcomed by wait staff passing around hors d'oeuvres and wine. In addition, we had a bar available nearby for beer & non-alcoholic drinks. The dinner & reception was at the end of the dock in the tent, which was perfectly setup to accommodate about 180 guests. Having everything in one area was great because guests didn't have to wonder where to go next. The food was amazing & it was easy to work with the chef to set the menu that we were looking for. In addition to the beef brisket & the butternut squash ravioli, our guests are still talking about the mini burger bar that was available about 9p. We definitely had more than enough food and drinks available for our guests & a month later they are still talking about how amazing our wedding was - from the food to the location to the DJ. We had about 40 rooms reserved for Saturday night & heard from our guests on how accommodating the hotel staff was to ensure that they had their room early since they were attending the wedding.Deborah & Semiahmoo Resort went above & beyond to ensure that our wedding was memorable - not only for us, but also for our families & guests! Adam von Melville(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-08-2018 This was my first and only wedding, and my wife and I spent a lot of time researching venues all over washington. The moment we drove up to Semiahmoo and walked in the front doors, I knew that this was the place I wanted to get married at. After seeing what the facility offered, the accomodation, views and Packers Bar, my mind was set on this resort. And when it came to planning with the resort, they offered perks that made the decision even easier. The facility offered more than enough parking to accomodate over 200 guests for the wedding, and the rooms/price was unbeatable. Staff was always around to provide information, assistance and support to its guests. By having the ability to block out a section of rooms for our guests it guaranteed rooms. The food and desserts that were provided for the wedding delicious. My wife and I stayed for a few days extra and enjoyed every minute of our stay. For those that enjoy golfing, Semiahmoo Golf Course and Loomis Trails Golf Course are very close, within 5-10 minutes and both are amazing courses that challenge any golfer, and they offer golf boards for those wanting a little more excitement in their round. We had one hell of a party with lots of guests, lots of driniking and partying, both inside and outside on the beach. The resort also offers a bonfire each night with unlimited smores supplies. If your looking for wedding venue that will leave lasting memories with you, your family and your guests, as well as one that offers amazing photography opportunities, and things to do, then Semiahmoor Resort is the one for you. Hello! My name is Jessica, and I am the Social Sales Manager at Semiahmoo. The most important thing to know about me is I live by Caroline Mitchellβs quote, βYou can't live a full life on an empty stomach.β Due to my love for food and the outdoors, my favorite resort activity is dining at Packers at sunset. When I am not enjoying Semiahmoo's tasty cuisine, you can find me hiking around Mt. Baker, paddle boarding on the bay, or exploring local parks with my best friend (also known as my dog), Lucy. I greatly look forward to hearing about your wedding dreams!
