Senate Garage Reviews
Sarah Knauss(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-12-2022 Senate Garage was the perfect venue for our wedding. We wanted something different than a traditional ballroom and this was it! We got too many compliments on the venue from our guests as well. The space is large but was comfortable for the amount of guests we had. We were able to have the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception in the same space which made things easier for everyone. We loved having the curtained off bridal suite area to relax and take a breath. It was nice to have a private powder room in there as well. April, the venue coordinator was so knowledgeable and communicated so well with us. Reviewed on 13-01-2023

We had our wedding at Senate Garage on 9/16/2023 and couldn’t have imagined our special day anywhere else! When we first saw the venue back in March 2021, we knew it was the place for us. As all the pictures from the website and other reviews show, Senate Garage has a beautiful and unique combination of industrial, vintage and warm and romantic vibe. We had our reception inside and the ceremony and cocktail hour outside at the Senate House grounds (an extra cost). The garden provided such a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony and plenty of photo ops! The venue comes with many benefits, including farmhouse tables and chairs, a wooden bar with vintage mirrors on the wall, a piano, unique light fixtures, a bridal suite, vintage and comfortable lounge furniture that can be moved wherever you’d like and more. Due to the beautiful character of the space and provided furniture, you truly do not need much decor or flowers!April was a pleasure to work with from the beginning. She was SO helpful throughout the entire wedding planning process, providing vendor recommendations, helping communicate to vendors and even an after party location for us, and answering all our questions via phone or email related to timeline, the space, decor, and among other things! She helped make our day seamless. Our wedding was magical and the venue plus being in Kingston played a significant part in creating a warm and fun experience for our guests. Reviewed on 21-10-2023

We held our wedding at Senate Garage in October 2023, and we absolutely loved it! Unfortunately, it rained on our wedding day but Senate was an amazing place for, and the wedding may have been even better with, the rain plan as it felt more intimate. The entire day seemed to go off without a hitch and we appreciated the team at Senate and April especially pivoting so quickly and seamlessly due to the rain. We had so many compliments on the space itself and people seemed to have a marvelous time. We would not change a thing. April kept everything organized and was extremely communicative. We would recommend Senate as a venue to anyone interested in a Hudson Valley wedding. Reviewed on 16-10-2023

When my husband and I first found Senate Garage while researching venues, we immediately knew we had to see it. We saw 2 venues in person, and it was a no-brainer. Senate Garage was the spot! And every element of the process exceeded all of our expectations. April was amazing to work with. Communicative, clear, and extremely helpful. She responded to all of our inquiries quickly. Being at a venue where we brought in most of our vendors could be very daunting, but April helped to make the process so smooth, and was always on top of information needed! The space itself is AWESOME! Large yet intimate. Cool yet cozy. We unfortunately dealt with weather on the day of our wedding and April along with all of the vendors worked diligently to help make our special day happen - and it was AMAZING! The only thing we wish was different, was that it didn’t go by so fast. We also have to say that being in the town of Kingston was really awesome. The town is fantastic with amazing restaurants, shops, bars, and really provided a fun weekend adventure for our family and friends! We cannot recommend Senate Garage enough! Reviewed on 27-09-2023

What can I say? We knew Senate Garage was the venue for us from the second we walked into the space. It is the perfect mix of industrial and romantic--the beautiful state historic site grounds behind the venue provided the most gorgeous ceremony and cocktail hour site, and it was a dream to get married in front of the Senate House and its garden. The venue itself has so many perks that might go underappreciated during the search process: you don't have to bring in any lighting because the venue has gorgeous light fixtures throughout that can be dimmed as the night goes on; the lounge furniture is permanent and fits in the space perfectly; SG takes care of the bar services and their two indoor bars are permanent, gorgeous and well-placed in the space to keep people on the dance floor. Everyone said our signature cocktails, which SG let us create and provide recipes for, came out so delicious! We had our main block at Hotel Kinsley, which made getting to the venue (walking just a couple of blocks!) stress-free. And of course April, SG's manager, was a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process! Our wedding was magical and the venue played such a big part in creating a warm experience for our guests. Reviewed on 14-08-2023

Senate Garage was a wondrous venue for my daughter’s wedding. The outside grounds are lovely with nature and the historical Senate House providing a stunning background for the ceremony and photographs. The chic industrial interior looked magical filled with candles, flowers, and modern chandeliers. The site provided ample space for all our guests who were seated in a u-shape around the dance floor, everyone having a view of the band and the dancing. I can’t say enough about how we appreciated April Ost of Senate Garage. She was so easy to work with as she shepherded us along through the whole process with ideas and suggestions that made the event so successful. Our guests felt like they were in a movie all evening! Amanda S(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-11-2022 We had our wedding at Senate Garage in November 2022, and we couldn’t be happier with our experience. The space itself is absolutely breathtaking—a perfect blank canvas for all your wedding decor dreams (or if you’re like us, gorgeous enough to just add candles and flowers and let the brick walls and industrial touches speak for themselves). April is a joy to work with, a truly kind person who knows the building and the industry inside and out. Our wedding went absolutely flawlessly, and I’m sure a big part of that was her behind the scenes work with our vendors. Kingston itself is a wonderful location to have a wedding—we loved that SG was right in the middle of a bustling part of town that our guests had the chance to explore before and after the wedding. Due to the time of the year, we had both our ceremony and reception entirely inside, and while the outside ceremonies and cocktail hours look incredible, if you are also planning an entirely indoor wedding I can guarantee an indoor ceremony is just as beautiful and the flow from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception is seamless. We will forever treasure our memories at Senate Garage and recommend it to future couples wholeheartedly. Reviewed on 04-03-2023

Emily Hartmann(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-05-2022 I cannot recommend Senate Garage enough. After hours of searching for venues online, a quick google search from my now husband, landed us in Kingston, NY. We wanted a venue that could accommodate our guest size and budget that was unique. Senate Garage was PERFECT! It’s an industrial chic venue with a ton of interesting history. An old carriage house, turned car shop, turned venue, the owners and staff have made this a magical, sought-after wedding venue. I was lucky enough to meet the owner, Judy, back in December of 2019, as we started to plan our 2021 wedding. We booked almost immediately and met April, the venue manager. I immediately felt at ease as April made time for many calls and questions and helped me with all of the details. I ended up not even needing a planner because April was so helpful. At the time, the exclusive caterer that Senate Garage worked with was Bridge Creek Catering (you can now book others), but I am so glad we worked with BCC. April is very friendly with Jessica - the VP at BCC, which made the process so much easier. When the pandemic hit, these two didn’t miss a beat and helped me move our wedding an entire year and guarantee the space and reservations were intact (at no additional cost). They even helped me book rentals, and Senate Garage saved us tons of money on certain tables and chairs that the space owns.Senate Garage is located in the Stockade District of Kingston. It’s picturesque, unique, and like no other wedding venue I’ve been to. Buses with our guests pulled right up to the side street to let our guests enter a magical garden courtyard, where our ceremony was held at 5:30 pm. Because the weather (though hot) was gorgeous, we were lucky enough to be able to host our cocktail hour outside. Then our guests were guided around the historic Senate House building (perfect for photos) and into this gorgeous space. Huge windows, string lights, low lighting, chic bar, and antique decor, this space was to DIE FOR. I absolutely loved every detail of the day and Senate Garage’s team made it come together beautifully. I even worked with a florist next door, Petalos, and because of everyone’s familiarity with each other, it made the day even more seamless. Thank you, April and team for making our day so magical! Samantha Schott(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-10-2019 Get married at Senate Garage. It is one of the most beautiful spaces in the Hudson Valley, inside and out, and the planning experience could not have been more seamless. I had dreamed about getting married outside in front of an old stone building with beautiful trees and gardens surrounding, and then having the reception inside a modern but warm space. Senate Garage could not have fit that vision any more perfectly. My husband and I planned our wedding from California, but April and Jessica from Bridgecreek were so helpful and responsive that we never had to stress about doing everything from so far away. The most amazing thing about Senate Garage is that even though they do lots of weddings every year, every wedding here looks different because of how beautiful and adaptable the space is. Everything about the space is so special - from the red velvet-curtained lounge, to the beautiful wooden bar, to the warm exposed brick and the modern but soft chandeliers. We knew Senate Garage was perfect for us because it didn’t need any extra decoration - the space speaks for itself - but we could still make it unique (we hung flower installations on two of the white gallery walls, and wrapped vines around some of the columns). We had 150 guests, and the space never felt either overcrowded or empty. It was just perfect. Not to mention - how many people can take their wedding pictures in a record store, or electrocuting each other with 1920s electrical equipment?April is a joy to work with, and she made us feel like she was genuinely excited to be working with us (which was the opposite of how we felt when we met with other venue coordinators in the HV). April answered all my (many) emails within at most a few hours, she helped us handle some last minute logistical hiccups (my fault) with grace, and she even connected my parents with her daughter for babysitting the night before the wedding. Jessica from Bridgecreek will hold your hand throughout the planning process - down to how many glasses and forks to order - so even if you don’t hire a planner (like us), you will never feel lost. We just got our pictures back and we can’t stop looking at them, happily reliving the day and still in awe at how beautiful our wedding at Senate Garage looked. If they have availability on your preferred date (or even your seventh or eighth choice date), book your wedding at Senate Garage. You will not regret it for a second. Reviewed on 25-11-2019

We chose to have our ceremony outside, where the Senate House acted as the prettiest backdrop. April was helpful from the start and was so patient with our million emails/requests. We were able to tour the space multiple times while trying to get ideas for our setup and florals. One of our big dilemmas was how we could separate the cocktail hour from our reception space. We did not want to hold the cocktail hour outside but wanted to keep the reception space a surprise. The minute we walked in for our first viewing with April, we knew that it *had* to be the place we got married, and we couldn't be happier with our choice. Not only is the venue absolutely stunning - it has a kind of \"finished\" industrial elegance that is absolutely breathtaking - but the team is absolutely incredible. April was amazingly helpful through the whole planning process, helping with everything from finding a local dog sitter to helping us deal with the rain on the day (and finding curtain rods to hold up our chuppah indoors when it was too wet to move our beautiful rented one at the last minute). I've never been to a wedding where everything ran so smoothly - despite the rain bringing our ceremony and cocktail hour indoors at the last minute, none of our guests even really noticed that this triggered a huge change of plans. The team quickly brought in our canopy and set up (dry) dinner chairs so that our guests could be seated for the ceremony - the whole thing took under 5 minutes. Despite the slight rain delay, the team from Bridgecreek (Senate Garage's catering partner) was so incredible that they made up all of that time during dinner service. Between them, Senate Garage and Bridgecreek are a dream team for couples who don't plan weddings for a living - they are absolute rockstars for helping with planning, Bridgecreek handles rentals and a substantial amount of the setup, the staff and bartenders are extremely professional and efficient. We have received nothing but compliments on a beautiful wedding that ran like a well-oiled machine - everyone loved the venue, the smoothness, the delicious food, and the amazing bar (we got multiple separate compliments on the great beer selection!). Honestly, April from the Senate Garage and Jessica from Bridgecreek are incredible and we couldn't be more grateful for their help and support. If you're considering a wedding in the Hudson Valley, Kingston is adorable and has a bunch of great cafes and restaurants, but the real draw card is the absolute best wedding venue I've ever encountered. The Senate Garage is a real gem; we could not have chosen a more supportive, beautiful and generally incredible venue for our wedding. Go and see it! You won't regret it (and you will fall in love!) Joe Romano(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-08-2019 The Senate Garage was the perfect spot to hold our wedding. Sarah (the bride) grew up locally, so the area was already important and meaningful to us, but the venue truly exceeded our expectations. April helped us with each step of the planning process, and the entire day went off flawlessly. The building itself is an old garage used during the early 1900s as, well, a garage, but it has been transformed into an impressive, spacious, and well-located event space that is simultaneously modern and reflective of an older era. It is located just next to the Senate House, which is one of the most historic sites in the Hudson Valley (site of the first senate of New York), which made for great photo opportunities during our outdoor cocktail hour. Although catering is handled by Bridge Creek Catering, they are excellently integrated with the venue and therefore all of those details are well-rehearsed and executed without issue. All of the facilities (the bathrooms, bar area, sitting area, etc.) were clean and maintained through the night. Since parking near the venue is somewhat limited, we'd recommend having a plan (such as hired transportation from a nearby hotel where guests are staying) to make sure folks can arrive and depart easily. We'd also recommend looking into nearby bars/restaurants early if you intend to hold an after-party; the selections are somewhat limited in Uptown Kingston, but we were really happy with our experience setting something up with BSP, which is just around the corner. It was the only place we saw when looking for a venue and we knew right away it was where we wanted to get married. We wanted a modern and raw venue that felt warm and romantic at the same time - they managed to achieve all of those things! Our wedding vibe was perfectly suited for the exposed bricks, metal chandeliers, warm Edison bulbs, and hanging mirrors above the bar. The girls got ready on site in the cute 'bridal suite' with velvet furniture - we later opened this up for our guests to enjoy. Candles were a must-have for us and SG allowed us to fill the space with them! April and Judy were lovely at all times - it was awesome to see their excitement for us on the day-of, too! We chose to have the ceremony on the outside grounds of the Senate House (just outside SG). It's was so cool to feel the history of the town around us as we said 'I Do'. Something to be mindful of: there are several limitations with what you can and cannot do on this property as it is historical and owned separately. Our ceremony took place on the Senate House grounds which was equally as beautiful as the venue. This was the first venue we looked at after getting engaged, and we booked it that very day. I spent a lot of time searching venues online, and there is nothing else like Senate Garage in the Hudson Valley. On our first visit, we were just in awe - the space is absolutely beautiful. April was kind, patient, and knowledgeable. After booking, April was helpful with anything and everything we needed. They were very accommodating as we worked to decorate the space with a vision we created ourselves. We were fortunate to be able to come in the day prior to set up as they didn't have anything booked that day, which was incredibly helpful. We also booked the Senate House grounds to host our ceremony outside - an exquisite back drop, which we highly recommend. Our wedding day ran smoothly from start to finish. There was an event on the Senate House grounds earlier in the day and April did all of the groundwork to determine when it was going to end and what was going to be left. She also was able to arrange another type of setup to ensure that we highlighted the essence of spring in our wedding. The reception was amazing. We thought we had a loud band but the acoustics really held together and it was perfect (Senate Garage has acoustic treatment). The brick walls, windows (original), floor treatments, and lighting make this a very unique and beautiful venue space. The layout is incredibly flexible as well (it really is amazing how much space is in there). All of our guests commented on how beautiful it looked (with the addition of flowers, of course).Wedding planning is a bit stressful and tedious. We met the owner Judy and worked mostly with April - both were delightful in every sense. The venue is staggeringly beautiful. Our guests have gotten in touch in the past few weeks and told us how unique, gorgeous, and fun the space is. April worked with us to customize it to our style, and the results were amazing. Bridge Creek Catering, the team that handles Senate Garage weddings, were also outstanding (see their reviews for confirmation) and work extremely well with the Senate Garage team and space. Collectively, they made an A-team that we felt had our backs at every turn.As far as planning, April kept a great balance of staying in touch and keeping things moving while still giving us space to make decisions. She navigated the state park system for our outdoor ceremony onsite (recommend this!), which saved us a lot of time and stress. The Senate Garage also provided us a great packet if local vendors and artists for every aspect of our celebration (shout out to The Sheeley House for accommodations, Silver Arrow Band for music, Chops Grille for the afterparty, Le Canard Enchaine for the rehearsal dinner, All-Transportation Network for shuttles, The Dancing Tulip for flowers, and Jonathan Gies for custom signage and artwork).I can't say enough good things about the Senate Garage space and team. Senate Garage wowed us with it's industrial beauty from our very first visit, but fully decorated and filled with our friends and family on our wedding day completely surpassed all of our expectations.Setting: we loved that our wedding could be indoor/outdoor. Our ceremony was outside in the gorgeous garden, and then we moved inside for reception where we comfortably fit 175 guests and a 8 piece band with plenty of room for dancing and mingling! Everyone was so impressed with how gorgeous the venue was.Planning and communication: April was absolutely incredible to work with from day one. Super prompt with email and phone call communication to answer our 1000 questions during the planning process. She helps to think about every detail and has amazing expertise in helping ensure that your day will run smoothly from start to finish.Bridgecreek catering: the food was delicious, there were so many amazing menu options to pick from, and we felt completely taken care of, I was especially impressed that during the night one of the servers asked me and my husband when we planned to sit down and eat so they could make sure our meals were warm :)Things to consider: the outside grounds are a state park so there are some restrictions that come with such as no open flame for things like a sparkler send off, and some restrictions around when the park open/closes to the public, but it did not really stop us in any way from bringing our vision to life. We would like to relive our wedding day over and over and would always have it at Senate Garage, we can't wait to go back and visit this special place again soon. Reviewed on 11-10-2018

My husband and I toured and booked the Senate Garage about two years before our wedding date after falling in love with the rustic decor and intimate atmosphere. While we were on top of our game booking the venue, our wedding planning efforts didn't really kick in until a few months before the big day. All I have to say is thank goodness for the help of the Senate Garage's wedding coordinator, April! Her engagement with us, attention to detail, and willingness to help in any way possible made the weeks leading up to the wedding a lot less stressful than they otherwise would have been. With years of experience and hundreds of events under her belt, April helped us craft the perfect evening for our wedding day and the whole event went off without a hitch...well, just one hitch ;)Looking back I feel so blessed to have gotten married at the Senate Garage in such a beautiful, industrial, romantic space. I knew that when we met April that we would have a partner truly invested in making our event a success. At our first viewing, April took us through the beautiful space, and it felt like home- lofty yet intimate, industrial yet cozy. We loved the velvet bridal suite, and they purchased the gorgeous wrap around bar soon after we booked, which was such an amazing added bonus. When we learned that there was a built in catering service, we were intrigued! When we read the reviews of Bridge Creek, we were IN. Two massive things off the list right away! April was so helpful and responsive to my many many questions. She connected us with some great vendors (sound, transportation, music) and was supportive when we asked if we could do things that hadn't been done in the space before (using benches, a small fire during the ceremony). Judy, the owner, is also incredible. During a moment of high stress, Judy was warm, logical, and meticulous. She and April solved the problem seamlessly and no one was the wiser at the wedding. The night of the wedding there were a few questions that needed answering and April approached at the right moments so that we could enjoy the night to the very fullest, but also make sure everything got done. The venue is stunning with a beautiful bar, bridal suite and even the bathrooms are lovely. The banquet hall is modern, chic and everyone at our wedding was really impressed with the place. The team is attentive and the exclusive caterer bridge creek is amazing with delicious food! The venue was $4500 for our day when we booked, and that does not include the outside. (My understanding is prices will change in the future.) Also, the caterer is great, but you may want a quote upfront as they are the biggest cost. The outside grounds come at cost of an additional $600 including alcohol permit, required security guard and event fee. There are a lot of forms and contractual rules that come with the venue, particularly outside - so if you are looking for a more no-holds-bar celebration this may be worth checking into up front. We used the in-house projector for a short video which our guests loved, and spent time with Judy and April during the wedding just because we kept wanting to tell them what a great time we were all having! The space is beautiful, and from booking to planning to celebrating, the entire process was flawless! We loved the Senate Garage! Reviewed on 29-05-2017

kathryn Ebner(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-11-2016 What an incredible venue! We had the great fortune of finding the Senate Garage when it first opened and were able to book our wedding 5 months later. We first met the owners who showed us the venue and we fell in love. It is unique and you can make the space truly reflect you as a couple. It does involve more work but the result was totally worth it.They have a projector so we had a photo slideshow going during the wedding which was a really cool and personal touch. April was so helpful in making herself available to come and see the space and working with our wedding planner on logistics. It’s a perfect space that can comfortably hold a very large group but also not feel empty with a smaller one. The bridal suite is also special with vintage furniture and a private bathroom. We rented the outdoor grounds through the Senate House and had our ceremony outdoors under a tent. The grounds are beautiful and the old stone buildings and trees make for a truly incredible setting and amazing pictures. Our guests were blown away and we had the most perfect wedding at the Senate Garage. Reviewed on 05-01-2017
Nick D.(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-12-2017 My husband and I recently had our wedding at The Senate Garage, and we could not have asked for a better venue. Here are some of the reasons why you should consider booking the Garage: April T. is fantastic as the event coordinator, and will do anything to make your day perfect; the space is essentially a blank canvas for you to decorate as you please for your day; it's spacious yet not cavernous; you can also book the adjacent Senate House grounds for additional outside space; and it's situated in the heart of downtown Kingston with its great shops and restaurants. The Garage is a great alternative to what we called \"wedding factories,\" so if you're looking for something more unique as we were, I encourage you to make an appointment to see this space. We had our wedding at the Senate Garage in August and it was truly wonderful. We were married outside in the Senate House grounds and had cocktails outside, and the reception was inside. The Senate Garage is a great space with a lot of different options to utilize. We were so happy with how everything turned out! Reviewed on 27-10-2016
Deirdre Wegner(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-09-2016 We got married her September 10th 2016 and had a positive experience with the Senate Garage! We had our ceremony inside, cocktail hour outside and went back in for the reception. Between the outdoor space (owned by the Senate House-which is part of the NYS Parks Dept) and the Senate Garage there are alot of options for how you plan your wedding. We were able to really transform the space with florals and greenery and they really let you have a blank slate to do what you want, with very few rules. They were lovely to work with and answered all of my many questions in a timely manner. Reviewed on 27-10-2016
Sarah Netter(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-10-2016 My husband and I were married at the Senate Garage on October 9th, 2016 and we could not be more happy with our venue selection. We were able to have the ceremony outside with the original Senate house ( 1676 ) as our back drop. The reception space inside comfortably housed all 135 of our guests with plenty of space for dancing, catering and even a photobooth! The inside space is rustic/industrial, complete with Edison lighting and exposed brick walls which needed very little decoration. We were able to have a caterer of our choice, (Frank Guidos Little Italy) who made use of the downstairs kitchen space and really helped bring everything together. I would definitely recommend The Senate Garage to friends and family looking for a unique event space - - Reviewed on 26-10-2016
Anonymous (wedding party)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-12-2017 YOWZA - SUPREME! We held our nonprofit fundraising event, Celebrate Community, at the Senate Garage in June 2016. IT WAS FANTASTIC! We had the most positive feedback on this venue in our 14 years holding the event.April Tiberio was my point person throughout, and she helped keep me on track with paperwork and thinking through logistics of using the Senate Garage space. She and Carl served as our liaisons the night of the event, helping troubleshoot a few glitches that could have derailed our evening. They provided honest direction and guidance in setting up the venue, securing the optional Senate House grounds (separate entity from the SG), and helped us get our audio, visual and catering needs in place. They were a pleasure to work with: professional, personable and amenable. Our event hosted roughly 250 people but there was room for plenty more! I have since been to two events by other organizations (HVTech Meetup and the Ulster County Chamber mixer) both with capacity attendance that didn't feel crowded in the space. Kudos to Don & Judy Tallerman for transforming this underutilized space into an uptown Kingston asset. With detail to energy efficiency, meeting-host technical needs, and a catering facility, the Senate Garage is a cool, hipster space to hold your special event. We had such a good time this year, we've already booked our 2017 Celebrate Community event! Looking forward to working with the SG team again.PS ~ Our guests were curious about the space, as it had not yet been open to the public - I believe RUPCO's Celebrate Community was the first nonprofit event held there. We're thrilled to be a part of the SG history, of which there is much in the books but much more awaiting to be made at the corner of Clinton and North Front Street. Reviewed on 24-10-2016
Michelle Mendelowitz(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-12-2017 We had our September 24th wedding at the Senate Garage and it was stunning! The space is versatile and gorgeous, the attention to detail and care that the owners took into its restoration is very evident throughout. We had our ceremony inside,. rented the lawn which is part of the NY State, went out to the lawn for cocktail and then back into the venue for the party. It was a perfect mix of indoor/outdoor, with plenty of room (we had 115 guests) to be creative with our layout. As the bride I especially appreciated the separate lounge with private bathroom. This is where I also had hair and makeup done. It was so convenient. The owners and event manager, April, were attentive and incredibly kind. April answered our countless questions promptly and thoroughly. If you are looking for a stunning industrial space in the Hudson Valley, look no further!! Reviewed on 24-10-2016

Rachel Myers(wedding party)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-11-2017 The Senate Garage was perfect for our purposes - spacious, elegant, perfectly atmospheric, and in a fantastic location. The space allows for an incredible amount of versatility and really allows you to mold it for your needs. At first, we were a little intimidated by the size of the space, but were assured that it didn't swallow up even small groups. We were perfectly comfortable with 200 guests spread over audience seating, ten-top tables, and high tops. We had to do next to nothing to make the space feel incredibly elegant and chic, which is a huge bonus when there are so many other things to worry about. I could go on and on about the details, but ultimately we were completely satisfied with the Senate Garage and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone! Reviewed on 21-09-2016

The ceremony outside in the park was gorgeous, the reception inside was wonderful. Our (almost 200) guests are still talking about it.We had a big wedding and there was space for everyone with a big dance floor and lots of room to spare. We used the red velvet room as our bridal suite and had everything we needed right there - could even walk down the block to have our hair done. The photo opportunities in and around the Senate Garage were unbeatable and our pictures look amazing. We are so grateful for April, who was a great advocate for us when other vendors were being difficult. We had our ceremony next door at the Senate House gardens, and following that our guests were invited into the Senate Garage for the cocktail hour and reception. The brick walls, exposed ceiling and industrial lighting gave our event a unique feel unlike any other weddings we’ve attended. Our guests couldn’t stop saying how amazing they thought the space was. It’s very open which offers room for a lot of different floor plan layouts and design options (not to mention a great dance floor!). The owners and staff were easy and wonderful to work with as well. The Senate Garage is unlike any other venue I have seen in upstate NY or the Hudson Valley. They have a beautiful and large industrial space with wonderful Edison bulb chandeliers and beautifully refinished concrete floors but you can ALSO use the Senate House property! The Senate House property has beautiful colonial houses and gardens that have been beautifully restored! I would recommend this space to ANYONE looking for a non-traditional venue with less than 270 guests. Their staff is friendly, warm and accommodating too, who could ask for more?
