To start there isn't enough nice things we could say about this venue and their staff. Kathy and Sean had made the craziness of wedding planning such an easier experience than we ever thought it would be. They were so professional and kind. They were always an email or phone call away, answering any of the many questions we had about the wedding process. Everything was perfect from the decor, to the food, and the serves. We received so many complements about how kind the servers were and how amazing the food was. Working with Kathy and Sean was a wonderful experience that helped us have the most perfect wedding day we could ask for.

Having our wedding at Shackamaxon was a last minute decision. We had searched a lot off venues in the central NJ area but had not thought of Shackamaxon even though it was so local. When we went to check out the venue, everything was newly remodeled, the price point was exactly what we were looking for and Kathleen and Sean were more than accommodating to us throughout the entire experience. They answered all of our question thoroughly, responded to emails quickly, and worked with us to meet all of our needs. Both Kathleen and Sean are calm in demeanor which is really helpful during a stressful time. They even had a small birthday cake with a candle for my Dads surprise birthday shoutout. Our food tasting was a really fun experience. All of the food was top notch and the staff was excellent. The grounds of the country club are on a beautiful golf course and great for pictures (except when it rains like on our big day). Our bridal suite was a really pretty and a perfect size, Thew cocktail room was cozy with a fireplace and brand new bar. The reception room was just gorgeous- we had options for wall lighting which made for an even bigger statement with my simple decor. The size of the reception room can change according to your needs and the dance floor was the perfect size which was also adjustable.Our time at Shackamaxon was really so special and I wish I could go back and relive it all and actually eat the delicious cocktail hour food. I definitely recommend Shackamaxon if your looking for that \"fancy\" wedding feel with a lower budget. We are so grateful!

I had the best time this past weekend at my future sister-in-laws wedding at The Shack! From the moment we stepped foot at the venue, the staff treated us amazingly. I had the pleasure of interacting with Ashley (bridal assistant), and then Kathy, Sean, and Cesar who did an incredible job! The bridal suite when we arrived as stocked with food and beverages which was great after a long day and having a break with pictures. We are thrilled to say that we hosted our daughter’s wedding at Shackamaxon CC this past Saturday and it was fantastic! From Day One, Kathy, Sean and Caesar could not be more accommodating and gracious. They are true professionals that answered all of our questions and went above and beyond to help us throw a wonderful wedding reception. From the moment we pulled up, golf carts were waiting to take us to pictures on the beautifully manicured golf course. A bridal suite to help us decompress, filled with drinks and food, before we moved on to the unbelievable cocktail hour. All top shelf liquor, food that our guests are still raving about (although we don’t know how anyone even had room for dinner after the unbelievable cocktail hour selections); cake and assorted pastries from Bovella’s Bakery, a great banquet room with a dance floor with more than enough room for all of our guests, cocktail hour room overlooking the beautiful golf course…I could go on and on. Look no further and book this place. They have set the bar high on how to host a wedding reception. You won’t be disappointed…in fact, you will be so happy that you did! We are!!!

We had our wedding at the Shackamaxon and it was amazing. Kathy did a great job of keeping everyone in line and accommodating whatever we needed or requested. She sat down with us after the management changes and the renovations and helped redo our entire contract.

I had my daughter's bridal shower at Shackamaxon Country Club. Kathy, the director of catering, was a pleasure to work with and was a big help in making the experience seamless. All the staff was friendly and helpful. The food choices and quality exceeded our expectations. We had a sit down luncheon. My guests raved about the food. The room was large, inviting and the decor was beautiful. The staff did not rush us. I definitely recommend Shackamaxon Country Club for any event. In fact, my work recently had our holiday party at Shackamaxon. It was buffet and every single dish was delicious.

We had a tremendous experience with Shackamaxon! Kathy and Cesar were extremely helpful and accommodating throughout the entire process. We were a little nervous when the original event coordinator had departed but Kathy and Cesar were amazing and we think that this worked out for the best. Kathy and Cesar made sure that we were on top of all the details and were amazing with helping us plan the tasting, seating chart, tea ceremony and reception. They also set up the dance floor multiple times so that we could practice for the first dance and the father-daughter dance. They also allowed us to practice the night before the wedding for a \"surprise\" for the groom. I grew up in the area, so I've been to Shackamaxon quite a bit. The clubhouse was renovated earlier this year and looks much more modern / updated. The ballroom floor no longer has the holes / divots underneath the carpet, so it is much safer, especially for heels. The ballroom was extremely spacious and was able to accommodate our 15 piece band and 200+ guests! They were also able to accommodate our 145'' projector which was perfect for the outdoor patio. The food was fantastic! All of our guests complimented the food and how delicious everything was as well as how attentive the service was! Our bridal attendants were also extremely helpful and we were pleasantly surprised that we were able to get some beautiful outdoor pictures in November. We also were able to plan the brunch and golf the following day, which was also wonderful. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience, and if we could do it again, we wouldn’t change a thing.

EXCELLENT!!! Our wedding was 10/8/22 and Shackamaxon was perfect. From the first meeting with Kathy to the food tasting to the wedding, I can't say enough great things about this venue and the entire staff. They made our wedding go smoothly, FANTASTIC cocktail hour, dinner food and drinks, so attentive to us and all our guests and I had no worries. We were able to go take pictures on the golf course which was great. The new renovations are beautifully done. I would HIGHLY recommend this venue for a wedding or any sized party!

My wedding on June 4, 2022 was the absolute BEST!!! Kathy & Cesar and the entire Shackamaxon staff was top notch! So attentive, organized and amazing! The food was great, the atmosphere was perfect and the set up was outstanding! All staff (especially Kathy, Cesar and Kaitlin the bridal attendant) were PHENOMENAL! After planning and stressing for 2 years, Shackamaxon owners did a great job with this hiring this new events/catering team and I look forward to future parties and events hosted at the Shack!

My wedding on June 4, 2022 was the absolute BEST!!! Kathy & Cesar and the entire Shackamaxon staff was top notch! So attentive, organized and amazing! The food was great, the atmosphere was perfect and the set up was outstanding! All staff (especially Kathy, Cesar and Kaitlin the bridal attendant) were PHENOMENAL! After planning and stressing for 2 years, Shackamaxon owners did a great job with this hiring this new events/catering team and I look forward to future parties and events hosted at the Shack!

I was a guest of a very close friend of mine who had their wedding this December. Being in event planning for over 10 yrs. I must say this place should be ashamed of themselves on how they carry out a wedding. First off, the bride and groom were called a month before their wedding by the GM and were told that they need to increase the menu $5 more dollars per person after already having a contract in place. Then the day of their evening wedding they were told that they would have access to the entire space for pictures at 4 PM but the wedding that was performed during the day guests were still lingering around the main area for pictures and the venue did nothing, so they lost out on those photo shots. I found laying around the timeline for the day wedding which had it ending at 3:45 PM. Clearly not enough time to clear out all the guests. Then the center pieces that the venue promised, the day of the wedding when the bride said something they simply responded “ can’t find them” and put 4 small votives on each table. The cocktail hr area still had dirty glassware from the previous wedding sitting on the ledge. They had all these nice pretty candles around the cocktail area and bar and only a quarter of them were lit. Even the battery ones weren’t even turned on. Get into the main room and find out that the kids table was served champagne and had 2 children drinking them. A 8 yr old was one of them. The brides maitre d left at 7 pm cause her shift ended (which I have never heard of in the middle of a wedding). Watched the service take dirty salad plates and put them on the same tray as dinner plates being served. Actually saw a salad fork fall onto a dinner plate and which was still served until I said something to the server which she then corrected and got a new dish. I can understand if 1 thing is over looked. We are all human, but this bride and groom came across as simply a check for them to cash. So much attention to detail had gone unnoticed. With so much competition in NJ for venues I would certainly not recommend this place to anyone looking to host an event.

When we were planning our wedding for May 15 here in January, we had one team of people helping us with the planning and arrangements; when April 15 arrived, I reached out to them and found out that entire team was no longer working there. We were told and promised one thing and this place pulled the old bait and switch. That's just utterly appalling, but they had us over a barrel. I must reiterate our troubled and concerned feelings about how Shackamaxon Country Club went about our special day and wedding contract. Needless to say, we were down to the final details before the actual wedding less than 30 days away, before they dropped this news on us. They pulled the rug out from under us. My fiancée and I felt completely blindsided; we entrusted our wedding day of exchanging our vows in front of family and close friends to this place. Amanda, our original contact, sold the location of the \"Terrace and Grille Room\" on a Saturday evening as an ideal place for a small, intimate wedding in the midst of a global pandemic, as we could still be socially distant in a responsible manner as well as go from an indoor to outdoor setting with ease, due to Covid-19 concerns. Now that \"new management\" has taken that off the table and are offering a second option that's less than ideal, we felt betrayed and at this point, had no other alternatives. They also changed the fees on us; they added a \"bartender fee\" for $150 and took away the wedding cake that was in the original contract. Now fast forward to the actual day.We had our wedding at Shackamaxon Country Club. My new wife and I returned from a short trip that was not as memorable or pleasant as we had hoped for after our wedding due to food poisoning from the halibut from this establishment; and after consulting with family and friends that were present, we can definitely say the incident was not isolated to just us. We have since learned, some of our guests and a vendor were so concerned with the food poisoning they had to see a doctor or get medication prescribed. The food was cold and just not good.

Amanda, our original contact, sold the location of the \"Terrace and Grille Room\" on a Saturday evening as an ideal place for a small, intimate wedding in the midst of a global pandemic, as we could still be socially distant in a responsible manner as well as go from an indoor to outdoor setting with ease, due to Covid-19 concerns. Now that \"new management\" has taken that off the table and are offering a second option that's less than ideal, we felt betrayed and at this point, had no other alternatives. They also changed the fees on us; they added a \"bartender fee\" for $150 and took away the wedding cake that was in the original contract. Now fast forward to the actual day.We had our wedding at Shackamaxon Country Club. My new wife and I returned from a short trip that was not as memorable or pleasant as we had hoped for after our wedding due to food poisoning from the halibut from this establishment; and after consulting with family and friends that were present, we can definitely say the incident was not isolated to just us. We have since learned, some of our guests and a vendor were so concerned with the food poisoning they had to see a doctor or get medication prescribed. The food was cold and just not good.

We postponed our full reception during Covid to 2021 and moved forward with a smaller immediate-family-only reception (plus their significant others) for a total of around 15 people in September 2020. Shackamaxon was perfect proximity to Holy Trinity in Westfield, they had a nice tent setup outdoors with a great view, all interactions with staff was fantastic from initially looking for a new venue to the end of our reception, they let us use the get ready room prior to our ceremony at Holy Trinity, and the food was great. Highly recommend and appreciate how they helped to make the day so perfect.

Anita is the best. It was spectacular. We really made the right choice with Shackamaxon. We had to postpone the big celebration, but we’re able to have an outdoor celebration with 30 people. They worked with us and never caused any added stress. The service was the vest I have ever received. We can’t wait to have our big celebration here again this summer!

I remember leaving our detailed meeting with Anita & Christian completely confident that they would help me create an exceptional event that everyone would enjoy. They went above and beyond with their attentiveness to every detail we requested. Anita was diligent throughout the entire planning process answering questions or concerns and maintaining excellent communication with me. We just had our wedding at Shackamaxon on 5/12/18 and it was absolutely perfect. Theresa and Anita were available every step of the way to make sure everything was set up according to plan, they were super flexible with what we wanted to do and nailed every last detail, made our centerpieces look phenomenal, and even got a hard-to-find ingredient for our signature cocktail during our cocktail hour! The place itself is absolutely gorgeous, like others mentioned, huge dance floor, plenty of room for a huge wedding (we had ~220 seated guests), exceptional food and the bridal suite is brand new as well. I loved the level of detail, service and attentiveness - they truly go above and beyond to make sure your wedding is perfect!

The dance floor is HUGE, there are a bunch of options for bar locations, the patio was a great size, our food tasting was delicious and the staff was so accommodating. Robin and Rakesh were awesome and replied to any questions very quickly via email throughout the whole process. The day of was absolutely perfect. We got to the country club and had golf carts waiting for us to go out to take pictures. Cocktail hour had great food. Robin and Rakesh made sure everything was how we wanted it and people are still raving about our day! We made a great choice by having our wedding at Shackamaxon :)

We fell in love with Shackamaxon the moment we saw it! We both wanted a beautiful golf course venue for our reception and just knew the Shack was the perfect place to celebrate our marriage! The entire team at Shackamaxon is there to make sure your wedding day is the perfect day. Robin was amazing at coordinating all the little details at putting our reception together and making the room look beautiful! I had a lot of little things decor wise and she did such a wonderful job putting it all together and I truly appreciated it! When we arrived after the ceremony, we all got to hop in golf carts and ride around the golf course to take the most beautiful pictures with our bridal party. Cocktail hour was in the grill room and outside patio and all our guests raved about it! The seafood bar was a big hit! Rakesh and the catering team at Shackamaxon were amazing and did such a great job all night - all our guests were so impressed with everything! Shackamaxon was our number one choice for our wedding day and gave us the wedding of our dreams - and more! We both could not be more thankful! Highly recommended this venue!

What a fantastic place to hold a wedding reception! My husband and I fell in love with Shackamaxon the first time we visited through the personalized touch from the entire staff. Everyone was so friendly and helpful - and they gave us homemade potato chips that were delicious! Chiara was absolutely wonderful and always available to talk to. Our guests were delighted by the service they received the night of our wedding. The servers and captain were absolutely amazing, catering to every need of our guests. And how could I forget the food! Everything was absolutely delicious! I couldn't get over how smoothly everything went, and how accommodating Shackamaxon was to us and our guests. I would absolutely recommend this venue to anyone who is planning a wedding. Everything was perfect, and I wouldn't change a thing. After lots of research, we felt very confident in picking the Shack for our wedding. The venue is set on a beautiful golf course and the ballroom is modern. The wedding package is affordable, yet offers a wider range of options than your typical and similarly priced wedding package. Our guests raved about the quality of the food at our wedding and were impressed by the staff. Each table was assigned a waiter who also took table side drink orders. Chiara was always available and worked with us throughout the year leading up to our wedding. Unfortunately, the week before our wedding, we stopped by the Shack to see the venue set up for another wedding and were in total shock when we saw the golf course under construction. We were upset because up until that point we had no idea about the impending construction that would take place and be apparent on the day of our wedding. Luckily, we spoke with the GM and he was accommodating and apologetic. Even though the view wasn't what we thought it would be, we don't regret our decision to have our wedding at the Shack and they stood by their service and quality.

My husband and I were thrilled that we chose SCC to host our wedding. The grounds and facilities are beautiful, the food was amazing, and the staff went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make our wedding wonderful. Our pictures on the grounds came out amazing. Our guests had a great time on the patio during the cocktail hour and dancing in the ballroom. We chose the place principally because we were excited about the menu and we were not disappointed. Everyone could not stop talking about how great the food was. And the staff was amazing from the start of the process through to our communications with them after the wedding. An example of how great the staff is -- the shuttle carrying half of our guests arrived significantly late to the cocktail hour and, although SCC has nothing to do with the shuttle company, SCC's event coordinator (Lauren Lucas) seamlessly worked with us to extend the cocktail hour and streamline the serving of the first course once we got into the ballroom so that we did not feel like we lost out on the beginning of our party. What could have been a huge downer at the beginning of the night was remedied by thoughtfulness, quick thinking and flexibility on the part of SCC. Having been to 20+ weddings before having our own -- we felt that we got great value for our money at SCC.
