Shadow Creek surpassed all of my expectations and was the most incredible venue for our wedding! I had my heart set on a barn wedding and visited close to 20 barn-style venues in Northern Virginia. As soon as I stepped into Shadow Creek, I was choked up and teary-eyed because I immediately knew that I would be marrying the love of my life there. It was everything I had envisioned and more. Lori and her family are the sweetest people in the world and so wonderful to work with! They genuinely want to make your day perfect and are constantly making beautifully tasteful updates. Lori and Jenna were so helpful in recommending various local vendors and happily answered all of our questions along the way. The bridal suite and grooms room were perfect for getting ready in. The scenic, rolling hills provided a breathtaking backdrop for our ceremony and photographs. The covered portico was an amazing spot for cocktail hour and jaws dropped upon entering the barn for the reception. The beautiful wood and string lights created a magical atmosphere that was comfortable and cozy. Our guests still haven’t stopped raving about what a beautiful venue it was. Even the bars and bathrooms are gorgeous! I am so happy that I found Shadow Creek. It was definitely the best decision we made during the planning process and we can’t thank the Carlyles enough for making our dream wedding a reality!

Wow Shadow Creek exceeded every single expectation we had in a wedding venue! It is the most beautiful venue and worked perfectly for our day. One thing I didn't want to worry about was the weather - and there is a plan for EVERYTHING! Our day turned out to be absolutely perfect. Lori and her team are so kind and accommodating! They truly make you feel like you are the only bride and groom in the world. Jimmy was the main manager for both Shadow Creek and our food vendor on the day and he was the absolute best. We cannot say enough good things about him and his team on the day. Shadow Creek will always hold a special place on our hearts.

I am so thankful i chose Shadow Creek for my venue. It is absolutely gorgeous, Lori was so kind and helpful throughout the whole process, her preferred vendors list were all perfect (which didn’t realize how critical this was until actually getting vendors and seeing how amazing they were), and I can honestly keep going and going. Lori always answered every question within 24 hours and even went above and beyond with certain asks that I had that weren’t technically part of the venue. Definitely recommend Shadow Creek and Lori!

Searching for a wedding venue is the biggest part of planning. We wanted a venue that felt romantic, rustic, peaceful, modern, and could hold more than 100 guests. But ultimately, we wanted a venue that felt special. Shadow Creek was all of that for us. When we visited, even in an empty room/blank canvas, it felt right. Lori and her team take pride in being an amazing venue and it shows in how the property is maintained inside and out. The bridal suite is a dream and the garden gives every season a chance to shine. You want summer blooms? The hydrangeas are there. You want moody fall florals? The beautiful fall foliage of Purcellville is there. Bonus points, the views are just *chef's kiss*.Overall, Lori and her team, especially Jimmy are the very best. They make it a priority to make sure your day goes smoothly and to make sure you are happy and taken care of. You really can't ask for a better team, especially one that works so well with other vendors! Shadow Creek will make you want to relive your wedding over and over again and have your guests and family talking about it for weeks and months to come (true story). So if you're on the fence, just do it and contact Lori!

We literally have no words to describe how beyond obsessed we are with Shadow Creek, Lori, and her fabulous team! From day one, Lori was soooo sweet and patient when we toured the venue. She made us immediately fall in love with her and the venue and we knew right away that we were going to be in capable hands. She was always so fast to respond via email that I felt like I was texting her rather than emailing. On the day of the wedding, Lori made me feel so stress-free and her calm demeanor immediately put me at ease, which allowed us to soak in the moments even more because the day truly does pass by so fast! Brides, run do not walk and book Shadow Creek and their Team right away for your BIG day. It was so worth it! I promise you, you will not regret it because if I could, I would want to relive this day again and again if I could.

Lori and Jimmy were an absolute delight to work with. From the moment we saw Shadow Creek, we knew it was where we would get married. Their venue is stunning with the most incredible view. We absolutely loved the modern rustic feel the reception hall has. From the planning to the execution on the day of our wedding, everything was absolute perfection. We constantly had a million questions and Lori was always ready and willing to answer them all. The communication was above and beyond anything we could have expected. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and team to be part of our big day!

We could not have dreamt of a better venue to have our wedding. Jimmy and the whole team made sure our day was seamless and stress-free. They have a plan for every situation, including when our outdoor ceremony had to be moved inside due to a tropical storm. Lori was easy to contact and quick to respond to any questions we had during the planning process. We also booked Shiloh for the weekend which was the best decision! We used Shiloh as our getting ready house which was so convenient since it’s located right across the street from Shadow Creek. We have nothing but good things to say about the team who runs Shadow Creek and Shiloh!

We loved having Shadow Creek as our wedding venue! The building and surrounding areas are spectacularly beautiful. The string lighting and drapery they have in the building really elevate the inside above your typical barn style venue. Lori and her team at Shadow Creek were also exceptionally helpful, suggesting an incredible team of vendors for our wedding, helping us make a great plan for the flow of the wedding, and helping throughout the day of the event! We loved getting married here and couldn’t imagine having our day anywhere else!

My husband and I got married at shadow creek September 9th and we are still on cloud 9 thinking about how special it was. We had a storm brewing last minute and Lori and Jimmy were so supportive in helping us navigate how to proceed with our outdoor ceremony. Throughout our engagement, Lori was so helpful and responsive. She gave several recommendations and always did so very promptly. Our wedding day weather was quite rainy, but everything was still so beautiful. We’d recommend shadow creek to anyone and are so grateful to have worked with Lori leading up to such a special day.

When looking for my wedding venue, this was the first venue I looked at, I fell in love with it but I had to be sure I wasn't letting my excitement get the best of me so I went to one other appointment I had made at another venue. Immediately walking in I knew that Shadow Creek was going to be where we had our wedding. Lori the owner? Amazing. The way she talked about how the day would go, where you would be, what you have with them, and being overall focused on the bride and groom you could just feel the compassion and love that she feels for what she does. You obviously want your guests to have a great time, but the day is truly for the bride and groom so it was nice to see the extra care in that. We had about 150 people at our wedding, there was plenty of space for tables and plenty of room for the dance floor without it looking empty. It was perfection. No one said one negative thing about the venue. It was the absolute perfect day. Lori was always so responsive and didn't make me feel silly for asking any questions that I had. They also provided a military discount as my now husband is in the service which was very appreciated. Definitely recommend this wedding venue!!

Shadow Creek will go down in our friend group as the most epic wedding venue and staff! I truly cannot say enough kind words about how welcomed we felt from the moment we chose Shadow Creek to the day our wedding took place. We were in the hands of true professionals who made sure our wedding day was the best day of our lives! Each space of Shadow Creek is unique, gorgeous, comfortable, and versatile! Guests were able to mix and mingle on the porch, in the well groomed yard, and within the gorgeous modern barn decorated with purposeful decor and unique touches! Lori and her team made us feel special throughout the entire event and we had no need for a photo-booth, as Shadow Creek is so beautiful on its own that people had photo ops all over!! Thank you for giving us a day we will remember as the best day of our lives!

From the moment we visited Shadow Creek and met with Lori we knew we had to book this venue. Lori was kind, helpful, and calm. She explained everything so thoroughly and then took a few calls afterward to clarify any questions I had. The venue is so beautiful it doesn't need any selling :) But Lori and team really shined as the planning process went on. They answered questions IMMEDIATELY and were available anytime we needed. On the wedding day, we were met a really large unexpected thunderstorm and all the programs we had laid out on chairs outside started to get wet. I was pretty distraught but Lori sprang into action and started drying out the ones that had been salvaged, put them into a basket and they were fine! She and Jimmy are just such professionals I was in awe. They've clearly done this a million times and done it really well. After the storm passed the venue was the most beautiful setting I've been in. Guests wouldn't stop gushing. I couldn't recommend Shadow Creek more highly. Thank you Lori and Jimmy :)

The good: The venue and property was beautiful. The venue owner, Lori was very responsive via email and answered all of our questions throughout the planning process. Jimmy, who I believe represented both P.I.G.S BBQ and the venue was AMAZING to work with. He seemed to have thought of every little detail and was extremely attentive throughout the night. Gus, the horse, was such a fun and unique touch and the guests absolutely loved him!The bad: Before initial booking, I was verbally informed of the venue being dog-friendly (I spoke to Lori directly on this). This was important as it was one of the only criteria for our wedding venue and so much planning and preparation went into including our dog on our big day.I coordinated the transportation and arrangements for my extremely well-behaved golden retriever to be fed during his dinner time, remain on a leash inside during the reception and be taken home at 11pm in a pet-friendly vehicle with a trustworthy sitter. The day of my wedding, Lori confronted me and informed me that their pet policy was actually “ceremony-only,” and that my dog was not welcome during the reception (although this “pet policy” is not located anywhere in their contract). After contacting my day-of coordinator and reviewing my contract to confirm there was no mention of this pet-policy, Lori reluctantly allowed him to stay, with the condition that he remains outside during the reception, which I had no choice but to agree to, as we had no other accommodations prepared.While we were getting ready in the bridal suite, I did not have the dog on a leash as we were in a small, closed-off area of the venue. Lori was walking through and let the dog outside with no leash and/or person to keep an eye on him and did not communicate to anyone that she let him outside. Fortunately, I was watching at the exact moment this happened and we brought him back inside immediately, however, I felt this was done intentionally. I understand it wasn’t Shadow Creek’s responsibility to be responsible for him, however, common courtesy should dictate not risking a bride’s beloved pet potentially running away hours before her wedding.In the weeks following, I have had family and friends inform me of how unprofessional and unpleasant the venue’s management, specifically Veronica, was to deal with as they were approached several times throughout the night with emerging questions and concerns regarding the dog. This supposedly continued well after he was taken outside, remaining there throughout the night. They described Veronica’s behavior as harassment and also informed me of several not-so-subtle negative remarks about the dog. One guest, a professional event coordinator in her personal life, supposedly asked Veronica for a copy of their contract to review the pet-policy, to which she “huffed, rolled her eyes, and walked away.”During the event, they requested to keep my flowers for a personal affair for Veronica. This late-breaking request caught me by surprise and I felt pressured to say yes. With Shadow Creek’s experience in hosting events, they should understand that a bride would reasonably request advance notice to keep their florals and/or have offered compensation for them. It was inappropriate and distasteful to ask someone, the day-of their wedding, to keep florals that did not belong to them.

Shadow Creek is a fantastic venue with beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces. The way it's set up gives so many options for ceremony sites! We had to move our wedding indoors because of the weather and the team made sure everything was perfect.I can't say enough good things about the experience we had. The owner Lori is amazing. She is attentive, caring, and highly responsive to emails. We never had any communication issues thanks to Lori! Jimmy is another Shadow Creek employee and he is truly a gem. He's caring and wants your wedding day to be perfect. I can't say enough good things about Jimmy! My husband and I talked about how great he was for several days after the wedding. The Shadow Creek staff makes coordinating with other vendors a breeze, which ultimately makes the couple's life so much easier! Bottom line, BOOK SHADOW CREEK! You won't regret it!!!

Shadow Creek was the perfect venue for our wedding. Lori and Jimmy were so kind and helpful in keeping everything moving smoothly on our wedding day. But even more so, prior to our wedding, Lori and her team were responsive to any questions, and always willing to help and provide input. The venue itself is beautiful and provided many options for our guests of all ages to enjoy: lawn games outdoors, beautiful views, a spacious cocktail hour, a beautiful patio ceremony, and a large reception area for plenty of dancing. It was absolutely perfect!

Shadow Creek is a beautiful place! Once I saw the pictures, I made my now husband get in the car to drive by! Next thing you know, we had a tour scheduled with Lori. It took us one step inside the venue to make our decision of having our big day at Shadow Creek and there is not one thing we regret. The team did an amazing job setting up first outside, THEN moving EVERYTHING inside due to the storm that came. They also had to push back our schedule almost 2 hours due to the mistake of the transportation company that we hired. They still made the entire night magical, they were there every step of the day/night any time we needed something and I didn't expect that but it was extremely comforting knowing we had their guidance and support if we needed it. I keep looking back at the photos because I wish we could re live our wedding day over and over again! I also requested lots of cows..... well my dream came true because we had lots of cows mooing at us in the background while taking our bridal party photos before the ceremony :) If you are considering Shadow Creek, I absolutely, 100% say to sign the contract and trust Lori and her team to exceed your wedding expectations! I am forever grateful for all that they did for us on our big day. The property is also magnificent which makes for gorgeous photos to forever cherish. My husband says he'll re live the day over and over once I get done printing out photos to hang around the house :)

ShadowCreek is hands down the best venue in the Northern Virginia area. We had the pleasure of hosting our wedding reception here and it was the most incredible experience ever. My husband and I feel so lucky to have found this beautiful property. Lori and her team made the entire process very smooth and easy. They were so kind and generous to work with and we truly appreciate how Lori’s team was extremely organized. We are blessed and thankful for all the help they provided and we could not have done this day without them. All of our guests were also extremely amazed by ShadowCreek. It is beyond beautiful and everything is SO kept up (inside and outside). Thank you to this amazing team for how much hard work was put into our special day and the flexibility they provided to us and our vendors. I cannot thank them enough. ShadowCreek has our highest recommendation!!!

The aesthetic of Shadow Creek can be melded into your ideal wedding vision and we were able to house 125 of our guests comfortably. All our vendors had no issue navigating the premises and setting things up in the remarkable event space. Definitely hire Gus (their horse) as well!

Our guests were thrilled with the porch accommodations while it was a bit too chilly outside for cocktail hour and Gus the horse was the most charming touch. Having our wedding day at Shadow Creek was a dream come true! Not only is the venue itself stunning, but I will never forget the feeling we had when we walked in for our final walkthrough and were greeted by Lori and her team. The feeling was one full of love and joy, as if we were family! The love they have for their wedding couples and their venue is so unique it only adds to the true value and beauty of the venue. To top it all off, they have an adorable hitched bar that we loved using as a hot chocolate station before our December ceremony, and their property across the street, Shiloh, was the perfect place to get ready the day of and stay the night of our wedding! Thank you Lori and the entire team at Shadow Creek for ensuring our wedding was everything we hoped it would be and more!!

Shadow Creek Wedding & Events was the perfect venue for our 115 person rustic, cozy, Fall, November wedding! The renovated horse barn fit the feel my husband and I were looking for, between the gorgeous chandeliers, to the wood beams, to the incredible landscape (including cows!) and of course Gus, the horse. Lori and her team were incredible to work with from the moment we scheduled our first tour to our departure after the festivities. My husband and I unexpectedly moved from VA to NJ in the middle of our wedding planning and Lori helped to ensure our relocation did not hinder our walk-through and other scheduled meetings. Lori always responded warmly and quickly to our emails and made us feel at ease, even with our numerous questions. We were provided with a thorough list of recommended vendors, which was extremely helpful in our long-distance planning. My husband and I felt so taken care of by Shadow Creek and are so grateful we choose this venue. Our guests were blown away (many were from out of state and had never experienced the beauty of Loudon County). Shadow Creek, Lori, her team, and of course, Gus, went above and beyond our expectations for a wedding venue. We are so happy we chose this venue to celebrate our special day.

Shadow Creek is one of the most beautiful venues in the area! We couldn't have imagined having our wedding at another place. This was actually the very first venue that my husband and I went to together before we went to about 10 more because it was out of our and our parent's price range and because I have major analysis paralysis! However, the charm of Shadow Creek kept it at the top of our list and we glowed every time we both takled about it. While our parents were skeptical and needed nudging, they completely understood once it was wedding day and were absolutely blown away on the day of - they loved the venue which they'd all only seen on the day of the wedding. They saw it without any furniture in it in the morning and then watched as our planner and florist set it up and transformed it. We wanted some place that felt elegant not rustic barn-y, offered space outside for lawn games, but was airconditioned inside (a must!). My husband and I really loved how seamlessly you could transition from outdoor patio (with an arch trellis included- such a bonus) to the cocktail area on the side (perfect for corn hole and live music that we wanted) to the reception inside without anyone seeing it. Although the bridal suite is extra, it is gorgeous, spacious, great place to keep personals, and comes with a steamer which we even used! We thought we would have about 150 people but ended up with just under 90 including the whole wedding party. My parents have said that it was the perfect size as everyone had enough room to move around and dance and it did not feel like we were in a space too large even though I'm sure it also looks magnificent with 300 people in it as well. I can't say enough about the responsiveness of the Shadow Creek team, especially Jenna with whom we were working. Jenna is so quick at responding and was so helpful throughout the entire process and provided advice on other vendors as well - she helped up until she handed it over to Lori for the walk-through and the day-of the wedding. Lori was also fantastic and flexible, when I asked to incorporate a little Hungarian culture with palinka, I was tearing when she said yes because it meant so much to me! She even stayed through the whole night until the last family member left! The venue really doesn't need any extra dressing up as they have gorgeous lights (no extra light-up from DJ necessary) and drapery and vintage touches all over the place (and we used every bit of them - barrels with wooden planks as accent tables, the vintage seating couches and seating areas, adirondack chairs, iron seating areas, etc.) Even the bars are beautiful! We loved the hitch bar when we visited but ended up not needing it. One thing I love is Shadow Creek's great command of social media. We perused all of the posts from the past (and tagged posts) to see exactly how others were setting up the venue and what rentals were used. That's exactly how we found our unique head table set-up (two farm tables with the sweetheart table in the middle and the hanging floral installment above it) and my husband's favorite - the blue water glasses. They do a phenomenal job at instagram stories as well. Let me tell you, if you love flowers, the venue is so well kept and full of trees and bushes that already have blooms. At the time of our visit in mid-July the trees were so pretty, which helped us visualize as there were only two Saturdays in 2022 left - both in July! We had originally wanted an August

We booked shadow creek immediately after visiting and cancelled all other venue tours because of the sheer beauty of the land, the reception area, and the overall feel. Of all the decisions made for our wedding, we think booking Shadow Creek was the best one. Lori and Jimmy make the experience even more amazing and their hands-on approach makes every moment of your wedding feel special. Our family couldn't believe how beautiful the venue was and many got to get within feet of cows who visited the fence near the venue. We loved shadow creek and many of our family and friends say it was one of the most beautiful wedding venues they've been to. A couple of our engaged friends are exploring it as an option for their own wedding after seeing our photos. HIGHLY recommend - wish we could experience our day all over again!!

Choosing Shadow Creek as our wedding venue for our October wedding was one of the best decisions we could have made! The venue is absolutely beautiful and a great space for any type of design palette you choose. We got so many compliments on how stunning the property and venue were. Lori is just simply amazing. She was so kind and accommodating from start to finish and we worked with her for a year and a half!! She truly does whatever she can to make your day perfect. And don’t forget Gus the horse! He was an adorable addition to cocktail hour and all of our guests loved taking selfies with him! Our wedding day was absolute perfection and we could not have asked for anything more! When my fiancé and I toured Shadow Creek, we instantly knew it was where we wanted to get married. Not only were the grounds and barn absolutely beautiful, but Lori and her team were so welcoming and kind that the venue already felt familiar and comfortable to us. The barn on our wedding day was even more beautiful than we envisioned. I will never forget walking into the space before the reception began and seeing the barn lit up with the twinkle lights and candles that we had on each table - it was such a dream. After the wedding, our guests kept telling us how beautiful the venue was, and we couldn't agree more! In addition to a beautiful barn, the grounds of the venue are stunning. After the ceremony, my husband and I took a moment to take everything in and looked out over the beautiful hills and the cows roaming it. It was so peaceful, and an image that I will always remember. Shadow Creek made our dreams come true! We would highly recommend it to anyone.

I cannot express how incredible Shadow Creek is. It was the first venue we toured and nothing else compared to it. Not only is the venue beautiful, but more importantly, the staff there is amazing. Lori and her team are extremely professional, attentive, and, flexible. They made everything extremely easy and were quick to respond during the planning process and the wedding itself. Highly recommend this venue!!

Shadow Creek Wedding and Events is by far the most beautiful, romantic, and spacious venues that we’d seen and let me tell you, we saw a lot. On top of the fact that the venue is impressive, the team that works there is top notch and really made our whole event flawless. From our first visit almost a year ago to our wedding last weekend the team went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us. Lori and team answered all my emails quickly leading up to the day and Lori even fluffed my dress for our grand entrance! Jimmy worked with us from the walk through to the wedding day and was on top of everything. He even noticed that I was fanning myself after dancing during our entrance and quickly opened the doors to get some cool air in the venue. The views outside are gorgeous and expansive, especially if your ceremony is on the patio, but if the weather isn’t cooperating the rain plan options are spectacular and romantic which isn’t something you’ll get everywhere. We felt loved, attended to, and special on our wedding day and truth be told, I think the venue team had a good time too. If you are thinking of considering Shadow Creek for your event, don’t think any longer, just do it as you won’t regret a single thing. Thank you again!

Shadow Creek is hands down the best wedding venue I've been to and I'm so glad we picked it for our wedding in August. Lori and staff really delivered (Jimmy was awesome)! The barn is immaculate, the grounds and view is unmatched by any other venue in the area, and the team helped us have the perfect day; I can't say enough. I highly recommend Shadow Creek and I also recommend using a vendor listed n the preferred vendors list, they are on that list for a reason!

Booking Shadow Creek for our wedding was the best decision! The venue is absolutely gorgeous and the surrounding landscaping and views are phenomenal. The staff at Shadow Creek was great and extremely responsive over email with any questions we had. We also chose to book Gus (the horse) and the hitched bar which were amazing additions to our Cocktail Hour and many guests praised those two additions! Would recommend this venue to anyone looking to get married in the Loudon County area!

Booking Shadow Creek was the best decision we could have made. From the first time we visited and met with Lori we knew we loved Shadow Creek and our wedding day was everything we could have hoped for and more. So many people complimented the venue as well as the venue staff. Working with their recommended vendors makes your life during the planning process SO much easier, outside of catering we also chose mostly vendors who have worked at Shadow Creek and I truly believe it made our day run so smoothly. Lori is so great to work with, from our first visit, to our walk through, all the questions in between, she is even there on wedding day. Although we had planned to get married outside, we actually chose to move our ceremony inside on a hot summer day and we weren't even upset about it because the inside options are just as beautiful as the outside. Cocktail hour out front on the porch, and of course with Gus, is the perfect setting. There's so many details, the landscaping made for incredible photos!We also chose to book the Shiloh which we were so happy with. It gave my girls and I all a place to sleep the night before, a place to relax and do hair and makeup the morning of, and my husband and I spent our wedding night there and it was so peaceful to wake up there.

The beauty of Shadow Creek speaks for itself! The lawn and gardens were well manicured and there were many places to take photos. We had around 175 guests and they were all seated comfortably with plenty of room for the dance floor. The groom and bridal suites were spacious and nicely decorated. We used them to take a breath and enjoy the appetizers during cocktail hour before we took pictures. We used the porch area for cocktail hour, which was spacious and nicely shaded. Lori, the owner, was amazing to work with! She provided a preferred vendor list, which was helpful. I highly recommend looking into those vendors as they are familiar with Lori, the venue, and are trustworthy. Lori responded to all of our emails quickly. She even came to the reception to congratulate us! I am so happy we chose Shadow Creek - The venue was perfect and Lori made our wedding journey stress free!

We could not have chosen a more perfect place to get married than Shadow Creek! It surpassed our wildest dreams in every way. We knew when we wanted to get married in Virginia in July that we might have quite a bit of weather to contend with. Between heat waves and summer thunderstorms, we really wanted to make sure we had an indoor ceremony option that was as beautiful as the outside. Boy does Shadow Creek deliver in that regard!!! Our wedding day ended up being unseasonably cool (72 in July?!) but rainy all morning and early afternoon. We were already planning to do the ceremony inside but because of the rain we were extra glad we had such a fabulous option. The bridal suite is beautiful and such a fun place to get ready! We had a large wedding party (9 bridesmaids, bride, two moms) but we had plenty of space in the room with space to spill out into the venue to eat and steam dresses. It was raining during our first look but at Shadow Creek you truly don’t need to worry about rain! We did the first look on the covered portico which was a GORGEOUS and perfect back up option. The portico is beautiful and still gives you that natural light. The rain and clouds made our indoor ceremony feel extra cozy and intimate. The lights inside make everything seem so magical! The rain stopped during the ceremony so we were able to have the cocktail hour outside (in the perfect weather!) and take some photos out back on the patio with the stunning rolling hills as a backdrop. The space is absolutely perfect for the reception with the dance floor right in the middle of the action! As I said, the lights just make everything feel so dreamy - like you’re dancing under the stars but with air conditioning! :) We had an absolutely fabulous experience working with Lori and the Shadow Creek staff. Lori is INCREDIBLE! From our very first outreach to the days after the wedding she was quick to respond, eager to give advice and just such a wonderful and sweet person to work with. The care and thoughtfulness she gives to her couples and families is top notch. We had great experiences with the preferred vendor list and highly recommend going off her suggestions! We are DESPERATE for someone we know to get married at Shadow Creek so we can come back!!! Thank you for helping us have the best day of our lives! :)

Picking Shadow Creek as our wedding venue was by far one of the best things we did for our wedding! My husband and I found the venue via Instagram, one of our friends of a friend had gotten married there and the moment I saw the place... I knew it was the perfect location for us. We wanted somewhere that felt very like us and Shadow Creek exceeded all expectations! The venue and surrounding location is so peaceful and beautiful and it was just perfect for our spring wedding. Working with Lori was an absolute delight! She is so easy to talk to, quick with her email and phone call responses, and so willing to make sure we were able to create the day we envisioned. Any questions we asked, she made sure to have an answer and helped us think through things of the wedding that we hadn't even considered. I can't stress enough how amazing she is! We were so lucky to have gotten married here, it will forever be a very special place to us and all our wedding guests!

This venue was absolutely gorgeous! My biggest concern when searching for a venue was the surrounding scenery. Many places had power lines, parking lots, and streets that were in ceremony photos, not Shadow creek! The environment and scenery was absolutely perfect especially during our fall wedding. It even rained the day of our wedding and it was still beautiful. The owner was amazing to work with and was so accommodating. I have absolutely no complaints!

Shadow Creek was the perfect venue for our winter wedding - large enough for an indoor ceremony AND reception (which the staff was able to transition seamlessly). The barn is gorgeous and so well decorated - we hardly needed to do much decorating, as it is already picture worthy. Lori was great to work with and super responsive. The caterer we worked with (through the venue), P.I.G.S. was also amazing. Delicious food and great service. Highly recommend!

The perfect location for the best day ever!If you’re looking for the perfect location to kick off the next chapter of your life, Shadow Creek is it! We are so happy we found this place to host our wedding. And it seems like lots of other people agree, so do yourself a favor and check it out sooner rather than later! Located in a quiet and rather isolated part of Virginia, it’s actually not far from fun breweries and restaurants and hotels.But as to the venue itself, it’s a beautiful wood barn that they can make to look like anything you can imagine. We were planning on a colder December wedding, and yet the day came with 65+ degree weather, so we could utilize their rolling farm land for some great outdoor pictures, plus took some on front of their beautiful evergreen trees. And some of the farm cows even stopped by earlier for a visit! But if the cows aren’t calling, luckily for us you could request the resident horse Gus to be at your event, and he was a hit! He really wanted treats, but ended up taking great photos with everyone.But there is so much space inside that we had the entire ceremony and wedding reception in there; and the event staff along with the catering staff completely renovated and changed the interior while everyone enjoyed cocktail hour on the heated patio. They’ve got everything to ensure you have the perfect event! Plus, they have an outdoor fire pit, lawn games, and for an extra rental the Hitched Bar, which we used to serve hot drinks and s’mores ingredients for the late night party crowd!They were not only so accommodating but also so helpful and insightful as to figuring out exactly what we wanted our wedding to be, and how best to accomplish that vision. We are so thrilled to have chosen this location, and our guests couldn’t have had more compliments to say about it. Now we are just waiting to get our eyes (and hands) on all the photos from our amazing day to share with them and reminisce about wonderful time we had, and that Shadow Creek helped make for us.Thank you so much!

The venue sets the whole tone for your wedding, and Shadow Creek blew us away from the first time we toured the property. It was exactly what we were looking for and SO stunning. It's also incredibly versatile; ceremony on the patio? Sure! Ceremony on the covered portico? Sure! Ceremony in the barn? Sure! Lori and her family were always willing to suggest different options but left all of the final decisions up to us. It never took more than a few hours to hear back from them about the (many!) questions I asked throughout the planning process. I loved everything about having our special day at Shadow Creek, and will recommend it to everyone I know!

When my husband and I were looking for wedding venues, we wanted something rustic/were looking for a barn. When we came across Shadowcreek and visited, we knew it was the place for us! The views from the property are incredible - especially if you have the ceremony out back. We had our wedding in November and it was a chilly day so it was nice to have the patio enclosed for our cocktail hour. The reception hall was huge and accommodated all of our wants - including space for a photo booth, ice cream bar, etc! The bridal and groom's suites are also very spacious and super cute. Overall, we loved our experience with the venue and Lori was a joy to work with.

While venue shopping, we went everywhere, tried all different types of venues in so many locations. We're not even from VA, but had to have our wedding here. Shadow Creek is the best for a few reasons: 1. Their ownership. Lori is SO personable, makes you feel like you're the only bride she's working with, is flexible the small ownership at a venue so you don't feel like you're one in a million is key. 2. The location is GORGEOUS. Close to Leesburg, easy for people to get to and from, and the landscape is just perfect any time of year, rain or shine. And Lori's decor-- the conversation spaces and furniture, wine barrels, the hutch, fireplace, bridal and grooms suites all feel homey but fancy all in one. 3. It has it all. Clean, updated, rustic, chic, whatever your vibe is, Shadow Creek will work. I wanted rustic chic and that's what we had. It has AC and Heat and we knew that in October, you never knew what you'd get and it was a must. Plus, easily accessible ceremony locations for elderly or those who have a harder time walking on grass, etc. HIGHLY recommend, this venue helped truly make our wedding day a success.

My husband, mother and I toured maybe 5 venues before pulling up to Shadow Creek. As soon as we started walking up to the doors, I looked over to my mom and we both instantly knew this was the one. The scenery is breathtaking. The bridal suite is AMAZING! And of course the interior is simply to gush over. Lori is the definition of \"professional\" and knows how to run her business. She provided a list of preferred vendors and they are preferred for a reason! She helped shape our dream team and our wedding was absolutely gorgeous in every way. If you are asking yourself... \"Do we really need this hitch bar?\" or \"Do we need to have Gus during cocktail hour?\" The answer is always YES! They were such a hit and still a highlight to our reception. Our guests are still dying over precious Gus! We love Shadow Creek so much and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this beautiful venue to our family and friends.

Shadow Creek was the setting for our magical wedding day - it's an absolutely gorgeous venue with beautiful landscaping that really adds to your photos. Lori is so professional, responsive, warm, positive and genuinely cares about you as a couple and wants you to have the wedding of your dreams. Her list of recommended vendors was so helpful too - they are all seasoned pros so this is key in executing a seamless event! The grounds are beautiful and you will see various spaces for the ceremony, cocktail hour, etc. I also appreciated how even though the venue was large enough to accommodate all of our guests, it was at the same time compact enough where older guests like my grandparents could still navigate around.Also, we had a lot of out-of-town guests so it was so convenient that it wasn't too far away from Dulles airport.We also rented the Hitched Bar which is soooo darling and I would absolute recommend. The possibilities with that are endless - have your florist do a grounded installation to spruce it up!Thank you so much Lori for everything - we hope we can go back and attend a wedding here ;)

From the moment we met Lori and toured Shadow Creek, we knew that it was our wedding venue. Lori is so wonderful to work with and she and her family/team have created such a beautiful, warm, comfortable event atmosphere. The ceremony space and reception space require very little additional decoration, but are able to be transformed if you would like to add your personal touches. We had perfect weather, however, if it did rain, we knew that regardless of where the ceremony was held, it would be perfect. The fire pit and games make for such a fun evening, especially if children are in attendance, and the portico is the perfect space for cocktail hour. The bridal suite is gorgeous and we were thankful to have somewhere to store bridal party bags, a private bathroom, and somewhere to take a 5 minute private break. The entire Shadow Creek team is highly organized so that you need not worry about a thing on your wedding day. We cannot say enough nice things or recommend Shadow Creek more.

So incredibly grateful to Shadow Creek for making all of our wedding day dreams come true! They were exceptionally helpful and accommodating during rescheduling. I heard horror stories from fellow brides about their venues, and I was so relieved to have picked such thoughtful and kind people. They showed these traits throughout the whole planning process up until the moment we left in our “escape vehicle” at the very end of the wedding night. I recommend this venue to anyone looking for place that is not only beautiful and impressive to all wedding guests, but also those who want to work with good people who will work with you.

This venue is absolutely perfect. Gorgeous, has great flow, and really makes for an enjoyable day for guests and everyone involved (including other vendors!). Shadow Creek is absolutely MAGICAL. My husband and I were married here and had 100 of our nearest and dearest celebrate our love on these gorgeous grounds. Each time I stepped foot on the property, I felt I was on vacation. It is quiet, clean, and very well maintained. The cows even came up close and joined our guests! As for the owner Lori, I can’t say enough wonderful things about her. She helped us navigate through planning during COVID, she was always responsive and professional, and she lent a helping hand the day of to make sure everything went flawlessly. If you are looking for a spacious barn (with great air conditioning!) on a gorgeous property, Shadow Creek is certainly a venue worth seeing. Thank you Lori for making our dream wedding come true!

I just had my wedding at Shadow Creek and cannot say enough good things about the property and the owners. They were so helpful and accommodating, especially when we had to postpone our 2020 wedding to 2021. Lori was so sweet and helpful, quick to respond with any inquires and just made my husband and I feel so comfortable. The property has great spots for photos and all my guests loved the cows in the pasture nearby! The barn is gorgeous and can really be such a blank slate for whatever vision you have. I also love that they have such great backup options in case of rain on your wedding day. And the bridal suite is GORGEOUS!! It is all around just such a well thought out, modern, fun and pretty venue, I can't recommend it enough!

The moment we walked up to Shadow Creek and met Lori, we knew it was the spot we wanted to have our wedding! Lori walked us through exactly how our big day would go, rain or shine. Throughout the entire year, even during the pandemic, Lori was so flexible and we had no worries about where the ceremony and reception were going to take place because the venue is so beautiful inside and out. Funny enough it was an insanely windy day and the ceremony had to be moved inside. While it took me by surprise I knew it would still be perfect! Lights flickered, the generator came on and the party kept going! The guests raved about how amazing and gorgeous our venue was and the beauty of it honestly made decorating so easy!! My husband and I loved everything about Shadow Creek when we went to see it. It had multiple places for photos opportunities, the outside area for the ceremony is gorgeous, and the inside is big enough to fit everything we wanted and the amount of guests we had. Lori is an absolutely amazing woman to work with! From the moment we did our initial tour she has been so responsive and helpful. I had multiple questions for her and she would respond to me the same day; sometimes within the same hour. She provided us with a list of vendors that have been used at Shadow Creek before to help us with out search, which was so helpful. When the pandemic happened and we had to postpone our wedding she did everything she could to help us find a new date and even sent us flowers on the date we were originally supposed to get married. During our 30 day walk-through she asked us who our vendors were and our timeline, but never once told us we could not do something. The day of our wedding I knew she was around, but I can't say I ever saw her. She was there to help if necessary but never got in the way of anything. I cannot say enough good things about Lori and Shadow Creek! If you are looking for a beautiful place to have ceremony and reception I highly recommend!!!

I can't say enough good things about this venue and the family behind it! We always knew Shadow Creek was beautiful and the perfect venue for our special day, but we didn't always know that Shadow Creek has the most amazing team. When you find yourself planning a wedding in a global pandemic, you want to be working with someone like Lori and her team. Shadow Creek cares about their couples and wants to ensure you have the best wedding day. Lori would make herself available late at night to answer our questions and help us think through our options. While other venues threatened the loss of security deposits, Shadow Creek was focused on supporting what made the most sense for us and our families. In a time when most things are uncertain, going with Shadow Creek was certainly our best wedding decision (aside from choosing each other :) )

Shadow Creek is the perfect venue for any couple that wants to give their guests a wedding experience unlike any other. My husband and I were married on 11/06/2020 and we had the perfect day for a Shadow Creek wedding. Our guests were greeted with beautiful rolling hills and mountains filled with fall foliage and herds of cattle in the background. Our ceremony was incredible with its scenic background and cocktail hour was held in the front patio filled with overhead bistro lights and enough space for each and every guest. Guests could not believe the beauty of the barn and reception space with its wide openness and easily accessible patio and fire pit for extra space. There are even bridal and groomsman suites on either side of the barn perfect for photos pre-ceremony and a quiet space during the reception.Lori was incredible each and every step of the way during our planning process. She made venue visitation a breeze with her availability and even fit a few mornings in for my parents to visit separately. Her guidance and reassurance during planning, especially with COVID-19, was remarkable. Lori truly cares about each and every one of her couples and it shows through her enthusiasm and compassion for throughout the entire planning progress. I recommend Shadow Creek Weddings and Events to every couple looking to have the perfect wedding experience.

It is hard to put into words how special this place is! It’s the first venue I walked, but I already knew it was the one before even stepping foot on the property. The venue really speaks for itself- the rolling VA hills, the charming portico & patio, the golden sunsets, and the big, bright, beautiful barn. It is no wonder that Shadow Creek is so highly rated and one of the most popular wedding venues in all of Northern VA. One of the best parts about Shadow Creek (that isn’t advertised on the website) is the owner, Lori. She is a godsend, truly. From our first walkthrough, to the 30 day prep, to the wedding day, she was there for every phone call, text, and email. It is incredible how calm, kind, professional, and attentive she was throughout the entire process despite having 3847483 other brides reaching out to her at the same time. You can tell that she truly cares for every single bride and wants their big day to be beyond perfect. Navigating a wedding during covid was so difficult and she helped me every step of the way— with so much grace. When my husband and I decided to cut our guest list and move the reception outside, she went above and beyond to lighten up the portico and make our evening that much more special. I am blown away by Lori and her family- they are really such good people. I am forever grateful to remember Shadow Creek- and the experience I had here- when I reminisce on the best day of my life.

Can’t say enough about Lori, Jenna and the team at the most gorgeous venue, Shadow Creek! First off, planning a COVID wedding was extremely difficult and Lori and Jenna were the most accommodating, generous, kind people to work with during such a crazy time. Shadow Creek was the perfect venue for our wedding. It has so many beautiful areas for photos, an optimal layout inside and out (great rain plan!), tons of space and is absolutely stunning with all their lighting and decor. Shadow Creek is a very large barn (holds up to 300; we had about 110 at our event) and has heat/AC. They have a large stone patio where we had our ceremony, a huge covered porch where we had cocktail hour, a gorgeous bridal suite and a groom suite, a 60 inch TV where we were able to show comments from our guest’s RSVPs and wedding photos taken earlier that day, a huge fire pit and they have lawn games! We took one step onto their property and knew we had to get married there. The venue is absolutely breathtaking and worth every penny. Highly recommend this venue and the team - so glad we were able to work with them for our wedding!

I have nothing but amazing things to say about Shadow Creek and Lori! My husband and I are so happy we chose to get married at Shadow Creek. The venue itself is just drop dead gorgeous. It is even more beautiful than the pictures on the website. Shadow Creek is the only venue we toured where we were truly happy with the ceremony plan rain or shine – which I think says a lot about a venue! It is spacious, modern, rustic, and versatile. The scenic, rolling hills provided an incredible backdrop for our ceremony, and we even had the cows come over to the fence and start moo-ing during the ceremony!! It is something the guests are going to remember forever. Lori, the venue owner, was so incredibly amazing throughout the entire planning process, which was very comforting since we got married in the middle of the pandemic when things were everchanging day by day. She gave us recommendations for preferred vendors who she has worked with before, and they did not disappoint. She truly invests herself into the process of making sure your day is perfect. Everything came together better than I imagined, and we even overheard people during cocktail hour say that it was one of the most gorgeous venues that they have ever been to. It felt like a dream. We also utilized the Hitched Bar during cocktail hour, and it was a hit with our guests! The new addition of the bistro string lights on the outside porch are fabulous. I would recommend this venue 11/10 times over and over. It is honestly one of the best decisions we made during this process and wouldn’t change a thing. We are thankful it is where we chose to begin our lives and husband and wife. Thank you for helping us have the best day ever!

The experience we had with Lori and Jenna was amazing! They are extremely professional, have amazing ideas, and are just genuinely nice people to work with for your big day! The venue itself is GORGEOUS. I wish I could give it more than just 5 stars! I had so many guests tell me how beautiful my venue was and said that the wedding looked like it came right out of a magazine! We had Gus attend and the Hitched Bar at the wedding and guests were in LOVE. Shadow Creek was the one and only place that my husband and I toured when choosing wedding reception venues because it was just that spectacular. We had quite a few other tours set up and canceled them immediately because we knew we found the place! Shadow Creek is perfect in every way. No matter if you have 300 people or 100 people, the space is perfect. It was everything I could have ever dreamed of in terms of look and aesthetic for our wedding day. The space is already so beautiful that you don't even need a lot of extra outside decoration. Lori and Jenna are very kind and accommodating. The bridal suite is beautiful and we had the best day at Shadow Creek. There are about a million places to take dreamy photos. Also, having Gus as a visitor at our cocktail hour was a huge hit! Thank you, Shadow Creek, for being the location of our wedding reception! It was a dream and we can't thank you enough.

It was so \"us.\" There is such a warmth and welcoming feeling about the place, and it's cozy yet large enough to accommodate a lot of people. Lori and Jenna were EXTREMELY responsive and supportive throughout the entire process – when planning a wedding, responsiveness and helpfulness goes such a long way! Our guests kept coming up to us during the night saying how perfect everything was, especially the venue. We also loved how it was completely customizable; every couple can make the space their own. But it also speaks for itself and doesn't necessarily need a lot of extra! I am pretty sure my (then) fiancé and I chose the venue from the moment we pulled up. The outside is beautiful, with a modernized barn look and the inside took my breath away, with built in stringer lights and wood beams. I loved that it was the 'rustic' feel I was looking for but was completely new and modern so it didn't feel like we were going to have issues with plumbing or heat, like some other 'barn' venues. But as an event planner myself, the aesthetic beauty wasn't even the most amazing thing about this venue. They have thought through EVERYTHING in terms of logistics and have so many cute touches (IE. you need to see the bridal suite) that you don't see other places. Plus Shadow Creek comes with so many things you usually have to pay to bring in, like: lighting, lounge furniture, ceremony trellis, bar fronts, etc. And on top of that, Lori and Jenna, from the venue, could not be more responsive- which is key when planning a wedding with a venue. It's a family run business and you can tell- because they make you feel like family! They were so helpful and always answered all of my questions. My guests raved about my wedding afterward and were amazed by this venue. Shadow Creek made me look good! I can't say enough good things about this venue!

We knew the second we pulled up that Shadow Creek was the venue we just had to have for our wedding. Just the drive in makes a statement. Everything about the venue is absolutely stunning. The ease and beauty of being able to transform it into the wedding of your dreams is amazing. You have different options for ceremony settings, as well as how you'd like the reception or cocktail hour set up. During our reception we also made use of the fire pit outside and created a cigar bar - all was a HUGE hit. After we booked Shadow Creek, Lori (the owner) also had vendor recommendations available to us. She made everything so easy and really helped our dream come to life. Couldn't have been more perfect!

I don’t know where to begin with how amazing Shadow Creek was for our wedding this past weekend. We were planning our wedding from California and briefly visited the venue before deciding on it. What really convinced us was how warm and easy to communicate with, Lori was. Booking with Shadow Creek is very straight forward, there were no confusing contracts to look through or endless rules. She provided her preferred vendor list (which was pretty much used for every vendor being so far away) and they all turned out absolutely amazing! We had a Baraat, a traditional Indian wedding entrance with a white horse and she helped us identify the best place to have it and answered any questions promptly that came up throughout the year+ timeframe we had. Shadow Creek is an extremely popular venue and there’s a reason why! The grounds are beautiful and the lawn games, fire pit, Gus the horse and so many other things, make it different and enjoyable for every guest! Our guests loved visiting here and enjoying all it had to offer. Many Californians have said they’d love to move to Virginia now and I think the beauty of Shadow Creek is to blame! ;) thanks for providing the space for such a memorable and perfect day, Shadow Creek!

My husband and I got married at Shadow Creek just a little over a month ago. It truly was the most wonderful day of our entire lives. We credit that to our incredible vendors, including Shadow Creek! I have been dreaming of my wedding day since I was a little girl, but could never quite picture exactly where I would get married. But that all changed the day we toured Shadow Creek...I know “they” tell you not to do this when your venue shopping, but we were one and done. The minute we stepped foot on the venue, we BOTH fell in love. From the stunning ceremony views, to the gorgeous barn, to the beautiful bridal suite. It felt like the venue was made for us. But our actual wedding day put our tour to shame. It was amazing to see “my vision” truly come to life. The entire day was a dream come true. Not to mention, Lori and her team are so incredibly kind. I really loved getting to know them through this process and I’m quite sad to know it’s over. But at least we can follow Shadow Creek on Instagram to relive this day over and over! Thanks again!

Shadow Creek is the perfect venue! I especially appreciated the beauty in the surrounding landscape, ceremony location, and barn design details so we didn't have to do much additional decoration -- it was all so naturally gorgeous. Even better, the venue was designed with a fantastic flow, so we were able to have our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception all on-site. My bridal party and I loved the beautiful bridal suite - the spaciousness, lighting, neural coloring, and beautiful décor allowed for a calm, comfortable getting-ready experience that also rendered stunning photos. (And the guys had a good time in the groom’s room, too!) Lori was professional, positive, and accommodating – an absolute joy to work with! She was there on the day of the wedding making sure our wedding day was perfect and all our needs were being met. I highly recommend Shadow Creek for your wedding venue!

Shadow Creek was the wedding venue of my dreams! I will forever feel lucky to have had my wedding at SC. All of our guests were blown away. I first walked into Shadow Creek and knew that there was something unique and amazing about the venue. It was \"the one!\" Shadow Creek is settled amongst the beautiful green hills of Purcellville, Virginia and the views are stunning. The venue itself is so beautiful and meticulously maintained. Every time I visited, I fell in love all over again. Last but certainly not least, Lori and her daughter Jenna are beyond gracious hosts at SC. They provided a shovel not once, but twice for us to both bury the bourbon and dig it up on the day our wedding. This venue was perfect for my day! My guests absolutely loved having Gus the horse as a guest as well! The owner, Lori, is great to work with. This venue books up fast because it is located on a hill overlooking a beautiful farm with adorable cows. The bridal suite is amazing as well. One of the most important parts for me was having a large dance floor, which Shadow Creek perfectly accommodated, even with my 150 guests. This venue was awesome!

I'm from Scotland and wanted a wedding venue that would be similar to home! This was the perfect venue - rolling green hills, trees everywhere - it was perfect. My wedding was 2 weeks ago and my guests are still telling me how much they loved the venue. Lori is so great to work with, very very helpful, and went above and beyond to ensure our day was as smooth as possible! She also knows many vendors and was able to direct us to the type of vendors we were looking for. We went with every single one of her recommendations and we are so pleased that we did! Shadow Creek is worth every single penny and worth making your guests drive any distance for!! This venue is the best wedding decision you will make!
