I cannot say enough about how amazing our wedding this weekend was at the Sheraton at Station Square. So many of our guests had said it was the best wedding they have been to. We wanted a stress free wedding and that is what we received. We were able to be the guests of honor and not hosting our own wedding. Courtney and her team helped throughout the whole process. Anytime we had a question, she answered it very quickly. Desiree was also amazing to work with the day of. The staff made sure I had a drink in my hand the whole night. Reviewed on 27-11-2023

Wow! I could not recommend this location enough!! The views of the city that this location offered, the elegance of the event rooms, and the extremely friendly staff made for an incredible atmosphere on our wedding day. And with a significant number of our guests having never been to Pittsburgh, it truly gave an amazing impression of the city. Plus the food was amazing!! And Courtney was fantastic throughout the whole planning period. Every time my husband or I had a question, she was always extremely helpful and would reply quickly. Wedding planning can sometimes be crazy and stressful, but with her guidance, we did not have to worry about that at this location. She had everything mapped out for us from the point we booked our date and we always felt like we were in great hands. So thank you to Courtney and the Sheraton staff for helping make our day special! Every single one of our guests said they had the best time and loved your location. Reviewed on 03-11-2023

We had an awesome experience with the Sheraton for our reception. Courtney was AMAZING! She was SO organized and was really responsive to my many emails asking her questions about details and logistics. On the day of the wedding, we didn't have to worry about anything - Courtney and her team thought of everything. We were repurposing flowers from our ceremony for the reception, and I realized I forgot to tell the folks with flowers to drop them off in the reception hall. Our limo arrived back at the Sheraton and Courtney was there waiting for us and told me she had already taken care of the flowers! Mindreader! Can't recommend her enough. The location was also great. We got some amazing photos with the fountain and skyline, and some cool pictures at night with everything lit up. The only negative was that the food was not quite as good as the tasting, but overall could not have asked for a better venue. Reviewed on 24-10-2023

We had our wedding reception at the Sheraton in the late summer and could not be happier with our experience! Courtney was responsive and accommodating during the entire planning process. We had roughly 110 guests and had our cocktail hour on the balcony & in the Fountainview room(adjacent). Guests were thrilled with the view of Pittsburgh from that location. We received numerous compliments on how good the food was both at cocktail hour and dinner. Day off, Courtney and Melissa made sure everything ran smoothly. There were some things that weren't great—we specifically paid for Buffalo chicken spring rolls as appetizers and they were not served during the cocktail hour or in our bridal party cocktail hour. We got some Tex-Mex rolls instead with black beans in them. The hotel asked for odd things like number of meals at each table and Courtney did come through with our requests (like a room to plate cookies) but most of the answers to our questions came with a bit of an attitude. It was a huge ordeal to get simple things like an early check-in for a relative. We met the new wedding coordinator the day of so that was a surprise! Melissa was super nice and wonderful though! These rooms cost less than the contract, so if I didn't have a printed copy of the contract, I don't believe we would have been refunded the difference. The hotel did acknowledge the error (after we pointed it out) and agreed to credit $200 for each room that we booked. My husband and I spent over $600 on 2 hotel rooms for our wedding day on June 22nd. She was very responsive to emails from months in advance right up until last minutes texts while already on the limo headed to our office site ceremony. Courtney and her team set up the entire reception site beautifully and better than I could have imagined. Clean up was super easy as everything was taken down and set aside until the next morning upon leaving. I can't rave about how delicious the food was and how generous the helpings were! Hors d'oeuvre's were plentiful throughout cocktail hour for guests. It was nice for the bridal party to have their own separate cocktail hour after the ceremony. Dropping decorations and cookies off for the cookie table was made extremely easy. Courtney met us at the front of the hotel during these times and help from the doorman unloading our decor made everything go smoothly. We loved that everything was able to be all inclusive (or an up charge on some items) here from chairs, linens, uplighting, Bethel Bakery cake and a complimentary suite (with breakfast the next morning) for the bride and groom the night of the wedding. Alison Sciulli(groom)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-06-2019 We really loved our wedding at the Sheraton! Initially we didn't like the idea of a hotel because we thought it was a little ordinary, but then we realized just how helpful it is to have a coordinator like Courtney and a staff of people waiting to help you on the day! The planning process is straightforward, and Courtney is super responsive to questions and emails back, sometimes instantly! After the tasting, the kitchen was accommodating to some changes we requested (boneless chicken as opposed to bone-in and skinny asparagus instead of thick!) On the day of, it was so nice to have a suite with all of the appetizers and drinks we missed at the cocktail hour! Robbie, our banquet captain, was beyond helpful and sweet. There are only a few reasons I didn't give five stars. If you're from Pittsburgh and a cookie table is important to you, it's not the easiest part of the reception to organize here. You have to bring the cookies already trayed, they don't tray for you. That wouldn't be as much of an issue if they provided you a space to tray the cookies at the venue, but we had to have them trayed and then transport them, which we managed but it was BIG project, and difficult if you're coming from a far distance to not mess up the trays! If you're not having a ton of cookies it might not be a problem, but we did! Any other negatives would just be related to cost, we really wanted a steak option but they were crazy expensive (which is not unique to the Sheraton). I also think the menu could use a bit of an update (although the salmon was DELICIOUS!). But all in all, we were thrilled with our big day and it seems like our guests were too! As far as hotel options in the city, it's a great value! Reviewed on 08-07-2019

Erica BRENDEL(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-12-2018 I cannot say enough about our experience at the Sheraton!! The whole entire process, from the initial visit to the morning after the wedding, was nothing but easy and satisfying. Courtney is ON TOP of communication, which I feel is most important in a vendor when planning a wedding. Throughout the year leading up to the wedding, she answered every little random question I had via email within a few hours, but mostly right away. She never missed a beat. I had a lot of decor for my wedding and Courtney and her team met me in the lobby a few days before my wedding. This was key because at that point it was off my hands and it freed my mind to focus on other last minute tasks. I never had to think about alllll that \"stuff\" again...until I saw it all put together as PERFECTLY as I envisioned for all the months leading up to the big day. It was such a relief to be able to just take the stress off of myself by trusting in Courtney to execute my day flawlessly. The food was just as delicious as it was at the tasting and we have heard plenty of compliments from the guests as well. The reception room was gorgeous and you can't beat the city right outside either. I didn't worry about a single thing my whole day and there isn't anything I have to criticize about the experience. I'd get married at the Sheraton over and over again if I could. Reviewed on 29-01-2019
Meaghan Shea(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-12-2018 The Sheraton is a fantastic venue. They were very accommodating as an event venue. Courtney is fantastic to work with. I had some freak out moments of how everything would work out, and she was very professional. We went with the winter wedding package with included the DJ, centerpieces, and a couple other extras. It was definitely worth the reduced stress and the cost was probably a deal or close to it. The food was amazing. We had the riverfront rooms, which are beautiful at night!A couple notes:Make sure you understand your contract. There is a stipulation that you can lower your minimum by 5% and the hotel was attempting to tell me they were doing us a favor by letting us be slightly below the minimum. Every dollar counts at an event like this. My main complaint is that the hotel staff (not event staff/bartenders) was unresponsive to our guests and to the bridesmaids getting ready in the conference room. We were told they would come up and help us with anything. We needed food put in the fridge and taken out. They essentially ignored my sister and made her bring everything to the front desk. Not only was the space decorated beautifully, but our wedding coordinator, Courtney went above and beyond for me throughout our entire journey! Courtney was so well informed on every question I had and answered every email within minutes! Our guests have not stopped raving about the food and appetizers! The service was phenomenal and my husband and I were never left without a drink in our hand the entire night! All the guests enjoyed the space and city view. Guests are still raving about how amazing all our food choices were!! Chicken Gratinee, Herb Crusted Filet Mignon, and the Atlantic Salmon Filet were huge hits. The hors d’oeuvres were a huge hit as well!! Courtney is the head venue planner and she was very helpful the whole time during planning and the day off. She was always available anytime you would reach out to her. The night of our reception we had a banquet manager and she was also very helpful as well. She was very concerned about the happiness of myself and my husband during the reception. Courtney Wertz(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-10-2018 We used the Sheraton for our hotel room block and getting ready space and we were thrilled with both! Nicki was so easy to work with and answered all (there were plenty) emails in a timely fashion. She was gracious enough to let us tour the suites and conference rooms before we booked which was so helpful and really sold us on using the Sheraton. The suites are beautiful for photographs with the city skyline and large windows (great lighting!). I reserved a conference room on the second floor for my girls and I to get ready in and it was perfect - large, set up just as we requested and easy to get to from our suite without any guests seeing us. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is due to some repeated issues with had with our welcome boxes at check-in. All the issues were resolved quickly but it took multiple trips to the front from my husband. I will also say that our wedding weekend was a home Steelers game and at least two other weddings were being held at the Sheraton so we chalked it up to that. Reviewed on 17-11-2018

We cannot say enough positive things about the staff at the hotel, especially Tony and Courtney! Tony, the hotel manager, was aware of the personal interests of all the members of my family, and accommodated them, especially my father, in ways that made our choosing the Sheraton to feel more like a natural friendship than a business agreement. Also, the Director of Catering, Courtney, is THE BEST! She was very communicative and had all of the answers to our questions throughout the process, and we were genuinely excited each time we knew we were going to see her because she made the process fun and stress-free! On the day of the wedding, Courtney personally checked in with me multiple times and accommodated myself and my family members more than I expected. The food quality and selection was wonderful and everything, including the bar selections, were very reasonably priced for the location. While this alone would have led me to write a 5-star review, I need to emphasize how amazing the Sheraton's wedding coordinator, Courtney, was in the process. She was incredibly helpful in planning and always punctual and responsive. When it came to the day of she was organized the bulk of the organization and prep work, allowing us to just relax in the morning. She coordinated all of the deliveries and setup, placed our cake topper while we were at the ceremony, made sure we were checked into our hotel room for the night, and even made sure the bridal party and parents had drinks when the bar was closed during dinner. With any emails or even phone calls that we may have had, she made us feel like we were her most important wedding. Even after the wedding, she reached out when some of our vendors had forgotten things to ensure everyone had their belongings. The day of the wedding, Courtney was unable to work, but she made sure that we were in great hands with Corinne and Robbie. They both made sure that we didn't want for anything. Honestly, the day went off without a hitch thanks to them! The only negative thing I have to say is about the room block process. It was very difficult for our guests to book rooms, and we were constantly being the middle man. However, Courtney made sure to always rectify the situation and make not only us happy, but also our guests.Overall, I would absolutely recommended the Sheraton for your wedding day. We would highly recommend the Sheraton to anyone thinking of holding a reception there! Courtney was our wedding coordinator, and we experienced nothing but preparedness, professionalism, and promptness throughout the entire reception planning process. We were originally drawn to the Sheraton due to its excellent location near downtown, its river view (our cocktail hour in the Fountain View room & back patio was fabulous), and its relatively all-inclusive nature. It did not disappoint!Because the Sheraton takes care of organizing food, drinks, wedding cake, and decorations, that meant there were so many fewer things for us to worry about in the final days leading up to the wedding! Regarding the latter, we left really detailed instructions for Courtney and staff describing where we wanted all our pictures, booths, centerpieces, and other add-ons to go. We were admittedly a little nervous about the reception room set-up prior to the wedding day, but we were floored at how wonderfully Courtney and staff set up the room. It really exceeded our expectations. They were also really flexible - as would be expected, we had late-breaking changes to the reception and additional items to add to the reception space. Courtney accepted these changes without issue or complaint. Overall, we think the Sheraton is a great space to hold your wedding reception.- Thomas & Jonathan Reviewed on 17-07-2018

Tim M(groom)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-10-2016 From the beginning of our process with the Sheraton Station Square, to say the least, was disorganized. We went through the planning process in a nine month timespan and were bumped to 4 different wedding coordinators. Each time getting moved to someone new, we were never contacted and did not find out we were with a new planner until WE contacted them asking about something. The lack of communication and slow response time was frustrating to say the least. In trying to make things right with us, our last coordinator promised us three comped rooms the night before the wedding. However, when the time came, they only comped two rooms leaving us to pay a substantial amount for the the third. In our final meeting where we FIRST met our newest coordinator, we stressed the need for two bartenders and an overly stocked bar for our heavy drinking crowd. We showed up to the reception to find out there was only one bartender who we were told it was his first day. Our bar selection was wrong and before the night ended they had run out of our beer selection, wine selection, fruit for mixed drinks, and glasses so our guests were served with plastic cups. Due to the lack of experience and knowledge of the bartender, we had guests (INCLUDING THE MOTHER OF THE BRIDE) go to the main bar inside the hotel and were forced to pay for drinks. I say \"forced\" because the mother of the bride can only drink one specific beer due to allergies. This beer was supposed to be stocked behind the bar yet wasn't. My wife has the same allergy and this specific beer was told to guests that ONLY the bride could receive this certain beer. Our head waiter did a non existent job of making sure the wedding party table was taken care of. We didn't really see him or the coordinator after dinner had been served. Our wedding coordinator had made a promise to us that she would be there to ensure everything went smoothly after all that we had went through in the planning process. However, the only time she was seen after dinner was when she was touring another potential client through our wedding reception. UNACCEPTABLE. We chose to have a late night snack bar, which was an upgraded option, to be put out later in the evening. By the time it was set out, the reception was almost over and it was set out without anyone being told. Lastly, we had a broken vase put out as decoration on our head table. The only positive notes from the night would be that the room looked great and the food was outstanding. However, the food and decor would not allow me to recommend this venue to anyone for any kind of event. There was a 400+ person event taking place the same time as our wedding reception in the next room that obviously took precedence over us. With all of the promises we were made throughout the entire planning process by every different wedding coordinator we had, we were extremely let down with the whole experience. I had to call numerous times after getting calls from my guests saying they weren't able to get a room at the block rate. They also overbooked rooms the night of my wedding which meant 2 of my guests who had reserved their rooms 6 months ahead of time had to stay across the river, on the hotels charge which was nice but very inconvenient for my guests since my reception was at the Gateway Clipper right next door. There were also fans blowing in front of another guests room which kept them awake the first 2 nights they stayed due too the fire sprinklers going off, wasn't fun since they had 4 kids with them. And finally wouldn't you think they would give a couple that just got married a king size bed room? no 2 full beds, no king and a smaller room than my mom. Granted they gave us 5 chocolate covered strawberries that were melted by the time we got into our room, thanks but no thanks. The only good thing I have to say was that it was nice to have a hotel next to where our reception was, it was newly renovated, actually still being renovated, and the staff was a 7 out of 10. I would stay here but not at the blocked room rate, got through one of the hotel sites online, way cheaper. Reviewed on 09-10-2014
Anonymous (groom)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-09-2014 My wife and I chose the Sheraton in Station Square as our reception venue. We took a lot of time to consider our options. We looked at the Priory, Westin, and the Sheraton. We both knew we wanted to have a Pittsburgh wedding since some of our family were coming from out of town. We chose the Sheraton because of the amazing view of the city and the river, and because it also had hotel rooms attached to it.\r\rFor our wedding, we worked with Kelly Giger who is the event coordinator and manager at the Sheraton. Kelly was really nice and she was easy to work with. She was also very informative, very friendly, and responsive to our needs. \r\rWe chose the room that overlooks the city and the river. This was a really great choice for our venue. It was large enough to accommodate 180 people, but it feels small enough to be intimate. I thought they did a really good job with the decor for our event and the uplighting did look nice.\r\rI would say that the best part of the event was the food. It might seem typical for the bride or groom to say their food was the best, but it truly did seem that way. We have been in at least a dozen weddings in the last 2 years, and I think we had one of the best menus. The hors d'oeuvres were amazing. Unfortunately, I only had two minutes to stuff my face with them. The mushroom soup was delicious, and the main courses were excellent. The cake was also delicious.\r\rSo with all of that being said, there were some problems that we encountered and it felt like there were more problems than we should have experienced. The first was that the rooms were booked incorrectly at the hotel. There were several times that we needed to update or correct our guest rooms in our block. I don't think this was Kelly's fault since those calls usually go through the front desk or the booking line. But it was still an issue for us.\r\rSecondly, when my wife tried to check in to her suite for the night before the wedding, which we were told was booked, it wasn't available. This was another thing that we discussed with the Sheraton, but it wasn't taken care of for us.\r\rFinally, we found out after our wedding that our tables were not set up correctly. There were 8 person tables with 10 chairs and 10 person tables with 8 chairs. Some of our guests had to exchange chairs from across the room. Thankfully, we didn't hear about it until afterwards, but it was just something else that added to the list of issues we encountered.\r\rOverall, we think the Sheraton was still a great venue and we would probably choose them again. We just expected less issues for the price we paid per head. This was not a cheap venue so our expectations were high. For that reason, I am giving them 4 out of 5 stars. Reviewed on 27-09-2014
Daphanie Chess(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-01-2014 We had amazing service with the Sheraton Station Square. Allison was so hopeful in making sure all our needs were met from the hotel and catering to coordinating with our vendors. The day went smoothly and she left nothing for us to worry about. This was a terrific location for our out of town guests as it was close enough to the airport, and hosted our wedding, reception and hotel rooms. We had no worries about guests getting lost during travel and we were able to enjoy the day. It also has a beautiful location along the river and great sites/restaurants within a short walk. We couldn't have chosen a better place/fit for our January wedding! The price for the location and additional perks were unbeatable. Reviewed on 20-02-2014
krystal ridilla(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-10-2013 I cannot express how happy i am with everything that the Sheraton did to make our day so perfect! My wedding coordinator was Kelly Giger and she was absolutely AMAZING and a dream to work with!!! She was so patient and easy to work with! She made the planning and the day of so effortless for me! They set up everything exactly the way i wanted! I seriously cannot express how awesome Kelly truly is! Also, the entire staff that night was just off the charts with how great their service was! The catered to our every need! They even boxed up our officiants dinner for him and his wife because he couldn't stay (his wife fell the night before and hurt her hip). And my husbands cousin came a little late because of a college soccer game and they even served him his dinner when he and his date arrived later in the evening! Speaking of the food and dinner, it was soooooo good!!! When i went for our tasting, the food was great then but there's always the question if it will be as good on the night of the reception (it's always easy to make food for 4 people taste good, but you never know if it'll be as good when you're feeding over 100 people). Well i can honestly say that everything was SO good and they filled your plate with food! We were STUFFED! We had wedding soup, garden salad, and the choice of the Chicken Gratinee, Filet Mignon, and the Filet of Sole (fish fillet stuffed with crab! that's what i had and it was my favorite!). At the tasting, we had tried this mushroom soup as well and all 4 of us LOVED it! It was sooooo good, but we went with the wedding soup for traditions sake, but i wish we ould've picked the mushroom soup! not because the wedding soup was really good as well, but the mushroom soup was just THAT good! LOL! anyway, i can't express how great the Sheraton was. We had our ceremony in their one waterfront room, the cocktail hour was out in the back lobby bar area where the bug windows are looking out at the city and river, and our reception was in the admiral room. Everything was absolute perfection! Reviewed on 31-10-2013
Heather Glidden(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-09-2013 We used the Sheraton Station square for accommodations for our guests while getting married on the Gateway Clipper. The location is prime for restaurants and shops and the Gateway Clipper. Our friends and family loved staying there and were taken very good care of. Jonetta Mazur was our event coordinator and was very helpful in setting up our room block and making any necessary changes. We were able to receive starpoints for our room block which was a great perk - as well as the great discounted rates our guests received. Would highly recommend this hotel for any group events! The planning and the execution of the event was professional and thorough. \r\rThe meal and the service were terrific and presented in a professional manner. Many of our guests commented that it was the best wedding they have ever attended. We also included a breakfast buffet for our out of town guests the next morning that was most enjoyable and appreciated. \r\rUnfortunately our experience with the front desk was disappointing. Since a number of our guests were from out of town, we experienced some confusion with reservations and room keys which caused an inconvenience for the guests. \r\rIn spite of the front desk experience, I would not hesitate to recommend the Sheraton Station Square for your wedding.\r\r Reviewed on 22-09-2013

Kristin Davis(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-06-2013 The Sheraton has amazing food and a great view of Pittsburgh! The only real complaint that I have is that you have to commit to a minimum amount of people when you sign your contract and have to pay for that amount whether they come or not, no exceptions. We signed our contract 1 1/2 years before our wedding and ended up having a lot less guests than we thought and had to pay for them. Reviewed on 23-06-2013
Renee Bayard(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-07-2012 We were very happy with having our wedding at the Sheraton at Station Square. We worked with Eric Bowman, and he is every brides go to guy. If you work with him and any question pops into your mind just call him and he will have the solution. The package that the Sheraton offers is very helpful. They help you plan everything and on the day of they do an excellent job setting everything up for you. I had another wedding planner too, but even then they must of had a whole team set up the tables (I had a lot of specifications, and everyone of them was accomplished.) The staff was excellent they were very prompt and acted very professional. I was thankful for the room they provided for us with refreshments before the reception. The only real complaint that we have is that the hotel rooms were just okay, they were nothing special, they were your typical hotel room. My parents got a suite and of course we did, they were okay, had a lot of space and nice views but I wouldn't say they were amazing. We spent a very small amount of time in them. The hotel did let me stay in the same room the day before the wedding which was very helpful. All in all I'm very happy with how our wedding went. We had the reflections room for the reception and the waterfront room for the cocktail hour. Beautiful room! All of our guest enjoyed being down in Station Square we had a beautiful summers evening. And we loved the trains! It was fun to see them go by but you hardly heard them with all the music playing. Our guest enjoyed the variety the hotel offered. It has been almost 5 months and I can't think of one thing I would have done different. I even had a candy table and Eric was very helpful helping my planner set that up, he came up with a great idea for it too. Also they can sometimes book events in the morning of your wedding. We had that happen to us, but it didn't really matter. Everything was set up and ready to go when we needed the room and my wedding planner was able to get in there in sufficient time to get everything done. So don't panic if they book your room the morning of they are totally equipped to handle the situation. Reviewed on 02-01-2013

Not only is the hotel beautiful with an amazing view of the river and city, it was so easy to get what we wanted for our reception! Our wedding coordinator was fantastic - she could answer any of our questions and helped us to get all of the things that we wanted within our budget. Their wedding package is the best that I found when looking around Pittsburgh. You pay one price per person (different rates depending on age - e.g. open bar or not), but that includes everything! Rental fee, four-course dinner plus desert, open bar, cake and cake-cutting fee, and all those other stupid fees that other places like to tack on at the end. You'll even get your night stay at the hotel in a suite! They will also put your centerpieces together and set up anything else that you may need for that day. I didn't have to worry about a thing. Jessica Rosenberger(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-07-2011 We recently had our wedding reception at the Sheraton Station Square in the Reflections Room. The room has a beautiful view of the city and is the reason why we chose it. Our reception had 159 people and the room comfortably holds 165 (could probably fit more - around 175, but would be tight). The staff of the Sheraton was wonderful to work with. They made sure that everything was perfect the day of the event and it really was! We had no problems and could not have asked for a better, stress-free day. We were able to use the Admiral room for our cocktail hour (since we found out closer to the date that this room was not being used) and it is actually a larger reception room. They worked with us to meet all of our needs. We also had a lot of family from out of town and required more than our allotted block of rooms for a holiday weekend. The hotel worked with us to provide rooms for each of our guests at our group rate. \r\rA few things to keep in mind - there are minimums for each of the reception rooms (but we were fully aware of this prior to booking), a Bethel Bakery cake is included in the package (there is another bakery as an option, but I LOVE Bethel Bakery), you are charged the highest price for all of the plated meals (again we were fully aware of this prior to booking and chose accordingly). \r\rThe package provided by the hotel is pretty all inclusive. All of the tableware, linens, food, drink, cake, room for bride and groom, etc. This was nice for us since we were planning from a different state and I didn't have a specific \"vision\" for these things. You are able to make changes and they are flexible with individual ideas, but it was nice for us since it was already taken care of and we didn't need to contact other vendors for these things. The location is also great. We were able to end the reception on time and go to a local bar to continue the party (this saved us some money in the end!) \r\rWe had a perfect day and I would not have changed anything!!!
