WOW! I don’t even know where to begin, we were originally supposed to be married May 9, 2020 but had to postpone because of Covid. Our new date was August 29, 2020. From day one back in 2019, Nancy Rosen made sure we had everything we needed from a detailed spreadsheet of prices, food choices, set up, etc. Nancy worked with us to make our dream come true! Having to postpone our original date left us very upset and worried, but Nancy & Amanda made sure everything was ready to go for our new date. Nancy is absolutely amazing, she was always happy, energetic, positive no matter what the situation and made this experience unforgettable. Nancy answered all of my MANY emails always timely and happy to help. The Sheraton exceeded all of my expectations, and our wedding was a night we will never forget.

Nancy was the best! We had about 150 guests with 80% of them traveling and needing an overnight room. She listened to what was important to us (affordable overnight rooms, ceremony and reception in one place, easy and convenient for all attending). She was very responsive and just so wonderful and flexible.

Thank you to Nancy Rosen and the Sheraton for an absolutely amazing wedding reception. Nancy worked within our budget, provided outstanding communication throughout the six month process, and made several suggestions to make sure our reception would be perfect. Nancy was onsite the afternoon before our reception and also checked in several times throughout the evening to make sure everything was as expected. 5 star service all the way--great servers, fun bartender, absolutely delicious food--really, we could not have asked for anything more. Nancy is a true gem and we are both sooooooo incredibly happy we chose the Sheraton for our reception venue!

I wish there was a way to leave a zero star. I had my wedding here this past Saturday and my fears of issues were confirmed. We had numerous problems for months leading up to the actual wedding day. From blocked rooms that were reserved being canceled, no return emails from Nancy, changes we made to the food and set up not changed on the hotels end, Nancy's attention to detail was slim to none. Nobody ever took responsibility for their mistakes, no effort was made to try to comfort a bride who laid out her concerns in person to her. Over months of planning I can't tell you how many issues arose even up to the day after the wedding. The banquet staff was short handed which left my mother and guests that arrived early to help finish setting up. Nancy was too busy giving tours of the location to help with a wedding that was set to happen within hours. My wedding was set to start at 4:00, and it's a good thing I was running late because my mother didn't get a chance to go upstairs to get dressed until 10 minutes to 4:00. My guests were still setting up the sand ceremony table when guests were arriving for the wedding. I will NEVER recommend the Sheraton for any event. I am extremely disappointed in the service and communication throughout our experience. Had we not already paid as much money to the hotel for this wedding, we would have moved the entire event to another location. This staff has a lot to learn about customer service and attention to detail especially on such an important day in someone's life

Planning wasn't exactly a breeze, but that is mostly due to having about 2 months to plan the entire wedding! Nancy was wonderfully receptive and the entire staff extremely helpful and knowledgable. I brought a lot of our own things and had a difficult time explaining my vision to the staff. Somehow, they understood me and set up the room well beyond my expectations. It was absolutely beautiful! From checking in to the hotel to checking out, our wedding weekend was wonderful. The food was great, service, location, and views were wonderful. I highly recommend the Sheraton! :)

Overall the Sheraton was great. We wanted a beach wedding without worrying about the weather. The construction outside of the hotel was a bit of an unpleasant surprise but thankfully it mostly cleared up by the day of our wedding. I was glad I had some free time the day of to pop into the reception space while they were laying out tables because the staff had an incorrect version of the floor plan. Thankfully I was able to point them in the right direction for the layout. In the end, it was a great party and we had all the space we needed. The staff was quick to help with a problem or issue. I would recommend this venue to people.

We had our ceremony and reception at the va beach oceanfront Sheraton hotel in September 2012. We worked with Lindsey reed at first, who was replaced by Bernadette smith. We were given no notice of the change and in fact I had to call several times over the course of a month, speaking with different people before I was finally contacted by bernadette. It continued to be extremely difficult to get ahold of Bernadette throughout the entire planning process and there were a lot of issues at the reception. Candles and decorations that were promised to me by Bernadette never arrived. Also, the bar was switched to a cash bar without my consent or knowledge. Guests were offended because they weren't told to bring cash ad I was upset that this went on for a while without my knowledge.

Nancy Rosen (Director of Catering) I am very passionate about helping couples plan their big wedding day. I owned a wedding planning company for 12 years prior to starting at the Sheraton Virginia Beach Oceanfront Hotel in 2013, so with over 25 years in the industry I can help navigate newly engaged couples through the planning process. My attention to detail, quick response time and creativity are my attributes and I look forward to customizing our packages to meet your needs.
