Located in Christiansburg, VA, Sinkland Farms is a working farm and stunning wedding venue. It boasts 125 acres of lovely agricultural landscape. This versatile estate sets the scene for a private, serene celebration. There are a number of unique event areas for a personalized ceremony and reception.
This spacious estate was once a successful dairy farm. Today, it features live cattle and pumpkin crops. Owned and operated by the Sink family, the property hosts lots of special occasions. One of their most popular events is the exclusive annual pumpkin festival. The team has excelled at holding exciting events on the farm. Over time, it has gained a reputation as one of Virginia’s most impressive wedding venues. The farm can be found beneath the astonishing slopes of the Blue Ridge Mountain range. Lovely surroundings create an enchanting atmosphere to tie the knot. A secluded ceremony can be arranged overlooking the peaceful Tuscan Pond. Five acres of carefully refined gardens offers a space for both small and large gatherings. The quaint pond is lined by stately white columns. It adds a unique refinement to the organic wilderness of the farm. After the ceremony, the newlyweds can entertain loved ones in the manor house. This chic farmhouse is ideal for holding a cozy, modern cocktail hour. Inside, guests can view stone fireplaces, antique furnishing, and hardwood floors. Afterwards, the barn has plenty of room for a memorable reception. It has been carefully decorated to produce sheer rustic elegance. The barn’s main feature is its handcrafted chandelier. This unique fixture was made out of old bottles collected from locals. It creates an inviting atmosphere for couples to celebrate with their loved ones.
The team at Sinkland Farms works with couples to create a personalized celebration. They will make sure the details reflect the happy couple from the rehearsal dinner to the reception. Even their packages are custom made to reflect clients’ visions. For weekend events, setup is allowed from 9am on Friday. This leaves plenty of time to set things in motion. The wedding party can hold a rehearsal that evening to put everyone’s mind at ease. At 9am the next day, they can return to ensure that everything has fallen into place. The team at the farm also creates botanical arrangements bursting with color. Couples can have a celebration filled with fresh floral designs.

My daughter got married here 2 months ago, in June of 2023.The good: The actual VENUE is amazing. Truly amazing with picturesque views; activities for kids; a ceremony, cocktail, and reception space all at one place; beautiful flowers and antiques that decorate the reception barn. Its really stunning on a late Summer afternoon and our weather was perfection so the venue itself does NOT disappoint. The bad (and thus the reason for only 3 stars). The owner Susan is quite frustrating to deal with. Your first experience of trying to get a hold of someone over there will have you pulling your hair out. Once you get a hold of someone and go over to take a tour, the experience is pleasant enough, but the sales pitch is definitely front and center. As you will see in some other reviews, there's an \"extra fee\" for most things you see that you may want to incorporate, like the bridal suite (broken down into two sides), barrels, flower carts, etc. She will offer to be your wedding planner, florist, and everything else that goes along with your big event. I hired my own wedding planner (that I was planning on doing from the start) and was so happy that I had someone to be the \"middle man\" when dealing with this venue as I knew it would add a level of frustration to wedding planning that I didn't have the capacity to handle. Next bad: you can only pay by check and they will take a LONG time to cash it... like months... so be prepared. Finally, last bad: Their bar service, which you are contractually made to use, is NOT good. Their servers didn't know how to make two very common signature drinks we had for the wedding (despite a laminated recipe sheet we provided). They repeatedly asked another vendor, our catering team, to help them. They were completely unprepared for the starting of cocktail hour and had no drinks pre-poured despite that having been discussed, leading to long lines at the bar area. The bar service provided was just very unprofessional. I will say, the intern working at venue was wonderful and very helpful. This venue has the \"bones\" to be amazing. The management and bar staff could do so much better. Reviewed on 05-09-2023

While this was a beautiful area and a venue, the staff has TERRIBLE communication skills. I'm looking to book a venue for our wedding in October 2023. I was talking to a representative at this venue over wedding wire and discussed all details about the wedding we're looking to have, including my request to have a wedding in October 2023. This venue is 2 hours and 45 minutes away from my house. After making this long drive to this beautiful venue, my bridesmaid and I could not find Susan, the lady we were told to give us the tour. We had to walk around the entire venue just to try and locate her. No staff member on the site had any way of getting ahold of her. After about 10 minutes of trying to locate Susan, we finally meet with her. Once we started talking to Susan, we inform her my fiance and I are looking to hold an October Wedding (as previously discussed in the messages via wedding wire) and Susan tells us the venue doesn't hold weddings in October. I'm not one to complain but this information was not listed on the website, not listed on their profile here and was not discussed with me in previous conversation. Susan then proceeded to tell us the woman I was communicating with was new. I don't care if you're new or been there for years, having the information down for which months you do not hold weddings should be one of the top most important things to relay to future brides and monitor the messages going out until the person is fully trained. Again, this was 2 hours and 45 minutes of a drive I took to visit this venue. The staff had poor communication skills, couldn't find a way to get ahold of the owner on the property and failed to relay the most important information of all while I'm planning my wedding-not being able to accommodate my desired month especially without telling me prior to making the long drive. I'm very disappointed in the lack of communication because this looks like a wonderful venue but regardless; the communication was horrible which makes me think how well will they be able to communicate, relay information or have everything ready if they are unable to communicate effectively with their customers. My husband and I had our wedding reception at Sinkland Farms 2 weeks ago. It was beyond our expectations. It was beautiful, charming & magical. Several of our guests continue to tell us how beautiful they thought Sinkland Farms Brewery was and how much they enjoyed themselves. Some of our friends are engaged & commented that they wish they had found Sinkland before us so that they could have their wedding there. Clearly we’d all go back and have another amazing time. The beer is great, the amenities are perfect & the views are breathtaking. Additionally the honeymoon suite is a must (you won’t be disappointed). Brides, you will have a magical experience & grooms you’ll have really good beer & make your bride happy. Reviewed on 12-09-2019

Vivian Eubanks(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-10-2019 Sinkland Farms is DEFINITELY the venue to use for all your wedding needs. The owner Susan Sink has been nothing short of SPECTACULAR! She has gone above and beyond to help us create the wedding of our dreams, I can't imagine having our wedding anywhere else. Using her and her gorgeous venue has brought a sense of calm and peace to what can easily be a stressful situation. We told her our vision and she has customized it down to the last little detail. I can't wait to marry the love of my life at Sinkland Farms. Everything is done and now we are just counting down the days! Reviewed on 29-06-2019
Makaely Thomas(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-05-2019 ATTENTION ALL BRIDES!!! Do not book your wedding at Sinkland Farms. I just had my wedding there and good lord do I have a story to tell. But this property has A LOT of improving to do. If only I knew how poorly the management was I would have ran out of that place and never looked back. This owner lacked professionalism on may levels. I was sent a text from the old venue coordinator 4 months before my wedding saying she wasn't working there anymore and that the owner was doing my wedding. The owner did not reach out to me once.Month of wedding: I had set up an appointment with her to a do preliminary walk through with her because I had a weary feeling about everything. We arrive and the venue is a cluttered mess (not the first time it has looked like this) The owner doesn’t show up until 35 minutes after our arranged time. Mind you, her house is 25 feet from the venue. I was already ticked off that we had to wait for her. As I was talking to her she kept calling me by the wrong name and was so unorganized. She loves to nickel and dime people. She would offer me a decoration piece and I would tell her “I loved it - that will look great!” she would reply with something like “Oh great! That will be another $50!!” I was getting slightly agitated as she knew we were on a budget but she kept pushing for the extra charges.Final walk through: So many things were promised to us. For example, she told us that the venue would be set up exactly how we discussed and we were able to come in at 8 am and start setting up. We went through everything including where we needed tables, how we wanted the benches and pews, what time we were coming what we wanted done and everything. We were all on the same page that day.. so we thought anyway.Rehearsal day/wedding: We are so excited! We brought family and bridal party at 8 am ready to go. She informs that her crew won’t be showing up until 9:30 to get the venue ready!!! I walk in to the barn NOTHING was changed from the final walk through to the day of the rehearsal. We could barely do anything venue related until way later that morning. On top of EVERYTHING not being ready/cleaned the freezer was broken and the main refrigerator wasn’t working well as it was dripping water into the fridge. You would think she would of checked these before hosting an event? They did replace the main freezer with a smaller freezer but it was a process and it took over half the day to freeze our items that needed freezing. By the freezer being broken set us back even more!We hired Sinkland Farms bartenders and as my father and I were getting ready to go down the aisle the bartenders show up… Mind you, cocktail hour is in 25 minutes!!! She was very cold and not friendly at first. The Cocktail hour starts and no drinks were cold, no signature cocktails were mixed it was a freaking disaster. We had a fun crowd and people were looking forward to a cold beer that we couldn’t deliver on. Lastly, she kept referring to our family as the Anderson's. Clearly, that was not our last name it was absolutely RIDICULOUS.There is much more to this story but this post is already long enough. This venue is not worth your money! If I could do it all over again I would not put myself, my family, and my vendors through that disastrous place again. After reading this you are probably thinking poor girl but honestly our wedding turned out perfect; it was amazing but, ONLY because of the vendors we hired and our awesome family and friends Reviewed on 11-06-2019
Linda Brinson(wedding party)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-08-2017 Sinkland Farms is an absolutely beautiful venue and the grounds are breathtaking! I worked with a bride decorating for her July wedding and found Susan Sink (the owner) AND her entire staff amazing and a pleasure to work with. I had an April wedding at another venue where the experience was very different. While Sinkland Farms is perfect for the rustic wedding the decorating opportunities are only limited by your imagination. It is unique and beautiful whether using simple and minimum decor to the more elaborate. It's perfect for the DIY bride to those who want a turn-key experience. I would highly recommend Sinkland Farms to any bride. Reviewed on 13-07-2016
Melissa Adams(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-04-2016 We recently got married at the farm and it was perfect! Debbie and Susan are both wonderful to work with and really go above and beyond for couples getting married at the farm. The day of our wedding Susan even helped get the groom's tux button back on right before the ceremony after it had fallen off! All of our guests loved the pond and thought the reception barn was beautiful! We highly recommend this wedding venue! Reviewed on 26-04-2016
a member (bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-09-2014 Sinkland Farms is a beautiful venue for a rustic/country theme, like our wedding was. The venue allows brides/grooms to rent tables and chairs; although the tables aren't much to look at themselves, with a table linen that changes. The reception barn is fantastic and the pond made for a wonderful background for our ceremony. Reviewed on 24-09-2014
Kaitlyn David(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-05-2012 Sinkland Farms was a really great place to hold our rustic wedding, but there are definitely some drawbacks. Sinkland is a great price and is absolutely gorgeous, but the service is only so so. The woman who owns it is lovely, but very very busy, so she doesn't have much time to respond to emails and phone calls. The week of the wedding she is all yours and completely available. But until that point it is hit or miss with communication. It was extremely stressful the couple days before as well because they were very behind schedule getting the lawn mowed, the chairs moved and set, and the venue powerwashed. This was super frustrating, but it did all work out at the end. Our wedding day was absolutely beautiful and I would recommend Sinkland to anyone...but would add to expect some extra work to keep the vendor on top of things. Reviewed on 17-07-2012
