Sky Retreat is an awe-inspiring wedding venue just one mile off the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina. This 30-acre location is ideal for couples that dream of exchanging their vows among Mother Nature. Its elegant ballroom, rustic log cabins, and multiple outdoor activities are perfect for soon-to-be-weds to enjoy during any season. Sky Retreat is nestled among lush rolling mountains and forests to give soon-to-be-weds plenty of privacy to host their dream day. Their Grand Event Hall boasts 6,500 square feet of space for you to design your dream theme. Sparkling chandeliers hang above the natural wooden floor, while large windows surround the space to cover your celebration in plenty of light and frame the spectacular long range mountain view. Its doors lead to an expansive covered veranda and wrap-around veranda for your guests to enjoy cocktail hour in the fresh air. During the evening, you and your guests can relax by the natural stone fireplace on the outdoor porch. For outdoor celebrations, the extensive, grassy knoll features acres of manicured lawns that make for a glorious space to exchange your vows. There is also a beautiful stone ceremony paver pad which is an ideal space for ceremonies to appreciate the long range mountain view near the waterfall garden. Gardens, pathways, and natural rock designs are present throughout the property for you to host your romantic photo sessions. Accommodations are also available onsite in the form of 14 log cabins. They boast cozy bedrooms, contemporary furnishings, and many cooking appliances to make you feel right at home. Adventurous couples can partake in the property’s various outdoor activities, from kayaking to beautiful hikes to the local natural waterfall. During your time at the venue, you and your vendors will have access to the onsite dressing rooms, catering kitchen, and DJ area. Our October wedding at Sky Retreat was more beautiful than I could have imagined! The view is so worth it when standing up there gazing out at the mountains and saying “I do.” The staff at Sky Retreat were always so helpful to give multiple tours when we wanted to come back and see it before the big day. The venue was the perfect size for our 100 guest count. I loved the wrap-around covered deck with the fireplace for our cocktail hour, and the large windows inside for the reception let our guests enjoy the beautiful view during dinner. The staff even offered to move our rented arch with the flowers from our outside ceremony inside behind our sweetheart table so we could repurpose it during the reception. I wish the tables and chairs were included in the rental price though, and perhaps some other items but that seems to be the trend with most venues today. Sky Retreat worked with us during Covid to move our date twice so we could have all of our family and friends there safely. I would love to see one or more of the cabins become a dedicated bridal suite/grooms suite for future brides as part of the rental agreement because that aspect is a little tricky and we had to rent cabins on-site and off to accommodate our large bridal party of eight each. However, the mountain views, convenience of ceremony/reception space all in one, on-site cabins for guests to rent, and the staff are all great and everything was better than I imagined!

Absolutely Stunning! Pictures hardly show how gorgeous this venue is and words can only describe somuch. We are so grateful to have celebrated our wedding at this amazing site. There are so many areasthat can provide you with a breath-taking backdrop and their ballroom is beautiful and spacious. Vitowas very helpful and inviting when we first arrived for setup. The venue was quite large and easy to getaround, and the cabins were very close by. I absolutely loved having our wedding at Sky Retreat! They are amazing and go above and beyond. It is a GORGEOUS Venue with STUNNING views! They have the sweetest little petting zoo my kids loved. As well as the most wonderful staff! Our first dance was sadly not captured by out video camera. BUT Sky Retreat SAVED THE DAY by sending us their ballroom's video that happened to capture our very special choreographed First dance!!!! They were so friendly, answered all of our questions, and communicated with us any time we reached out to them. We plan to go back every year for our anniversary and stay at their cabins. Hoping to enjoy all the other things they offer and that are offered in the area! Thank you so much for everything!!!!!!!!!

What an AMAZING experience we had!! I cannot rave enough about how perfect this place was to us when we got married therein October! The view speaks for itself of course but the people there went above and beyond for us, not only on our wedding day but for the 2 years we planned it leading up to the wedding! They were so nice, always helpful, answered ALL our questions, accommodating and super supportive during the day of the wedding. We stayed in the cabins, along with the bridal party, and it was perfect to have everyone on site, definitely worth it. I can’t speak highly enough about Sky Retreat as a venue to get married at and the people who work there so just trust me when I say book your wedding here!

Their customer service is out of this world. Their venue is stunning, and they communicate with you during your entire venue search. The cabins on site were perfect since my family came from VA and my husbands family came from NC. The property managers did everything they could to ensure our special day went perfect and smooth. Sky Retreat is definitely the perfect venue to host your wedding or post-wedding celebration. The view was breathtaking as it overlooks the rolling Blue Ridge Mountains. If you wish to do so, there is plenty of space outdoors to host your entire event outdoors. We hosted our post-wedding celebration in August 2021 and still wanted to be COVID conscious and considerate to our guests, therefore, we opted to host our event solely outdoors until 10pm. If you choose to utilize their gorgeous ballroom, this is a remarkable option as well. The ballroom has high lofted ceilings with beautiful chandeliers and large open windows that overlook the mountains, so though you are inside you still get the view. The team was wonderful as well. It was great working with Merin. She made scheduling easy and answered all of our many questions leading up to our big day. Vito was super helpful the day of, as well, and will setup the tables and chairs however you envision them to be setup. He is available the day of too for any last minute needs or questions and also takes care of the breaking down of the tables and chairs, which is a huge relief when you are busy hosting your guests and enjoying the day. All-in-all, I would recommend booking your next wedding event at Sky Retreat in a heartbeat.

Sky Retreat is definitely the perfect venue to host your wedding or post-wedding celebration. The view was breathtaking as it overlooks the rolling Blue Ridge Mountains. If you wish to do so, there is plenty of space outdoors to host your entire event outdoors. We hosted our post-wedding celebration in August 2021 and still wanted to be COVID conscious and considerate to our guests, therefore, we opted to host our event solely outdoors until 10pm. If you choose to utilize their gorgeous ballroom, this is a remarkable option as well. The ballroom has high lofted ceilings with beautiful chandeliers and large open windows that overlook the mountains, so though you are inside you still get the view. The team was wonderful as well. It was great working with Merin. She made scheduling easy and answered all of our many questions leading up to our big day. Vito was super helpful the day of, as well, and will setup the tables and chairs however you envision them to be setup. He is available the day of too for any last minute needs or questions and also takes care of the breaking down of the tables and chairs, which is a huge relief when you are busy hosting your guests and enjoying the day. All-in-all, I would recommend booking your next wedding event at Sky Retreat in a heartbeat.

We had our wedding at Sky Retreat eight weeks ago. I had an extremely hard time deciding between so many beautiful High Country venues. There were three reasons Sky Retreat won out: the views, the Parkway drive up, and the covered porch. The fact that everything else was perfection heightened the whole experience into a choice that the two of us, our family, and our friends could not have been happier with. The venue is kind of magical. You look down on the charming cabins on one side, and across breathtaking mountain vistas on the other. You get views from anywhere you choose to have your ceremony or dinner. Inside there are almost floor-to-ceiling windows and otherwise a blank canvas room to do with as you wish. Outside you can have your ceremony on the pavers or the grass. We had only twenty guests so we were able to have dinner on the patio, perfect for this never-ending pandemic. Our caterer (Earthworks) raved about the kitchen set up here before we even booked it, and he even had tons of space outside out of sight to set up his wood grill for the veggies and local trout he served. It was awesome. Our photographer (Enowen) got incredible shots of us at sunset with the views behind us and the mountain breeze ruffling my dress. The bridal dressing room has a comfy couch and a nice long makeup counter with a full wall mirror. I was the only one getting my hair and makeup done professionally in there, but if you have a large bridal party who are all getting ready at the same time it won’t be big enough. The dressing area is also one room with the toilets separated by a curtain which felt less than ideal, and I had to drag my dress into the handicap stall to get dressed in order to have privacy. The men’s dressing area is also in their bathroom and not separated in any way. This was really the only downside of the venue for me and my pee-shy friends. On the plus side, everything about the venue is truly wheelchair accessible. Merin answered every question I had so quickly and could not have been nicer and Vitold worked so hard setting everything up and tearing it down to our exact specifications (don’t forget to give him a nice cash tip).

Absolutely Perfect Wedding Venue! From the scenic views to the most generous hosts, choosing this venue was the easiest and best decision we made for our wedding. The hosts are so accommodating and are willing to help however they can. There is an excellent back up plan in case the weather is not ideal and the cabins on the venue were so much fun to have our bridal party stay in for the weekend of our cabin. Do yourself a favor and visit the venue in person before you make any decisions so you can see for yourself just how beautiful the venue is. They offer chairs and tables, furniture/portable fireplaces for the deck, and the best part was their personal goats made an appearance at our wedding! I truly hope this review helps you make your decision because we were so blessed to have our wedding at this venue. Our wedding was the end of May and the weather was incredible.

The most beautiful location for a wedding and the greatest people to work with at the Sky Retreat. After months looking for a venue within our price range and specifications (a good view), we finally found Sky Retreat. This venue was more than we could have asked for. Everyone went above and beyond to make this the perfect day for us. We had three months to plan our wedding, and they made everything so effortless. All of our questions (no matter how last minute) were answered promptly. This place was absolutely breath taking.

Also has a beautiful building for the reception, we couldn’t have asked for a more memorable venue. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a venue that puts you on top of the world.

We had our wedding at Sky Retreat on 4/20/2019. The weather did not cooperate with us and we experienced unseasonable chills, freezing rain, and had the most AMAZING wedding in the history of weddings. The Sky Retreat team were accommodating in every way from rehearsal to setup and cleanup. We had to move the ceremony from the lawn to the veranda and it was the perfect setting in every way with an incredible view. I'd recommend Sky Retreat and their team to anyone looking to get hitched in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

If there was an option to give Sky Retreat 10 stars I would. To say that our wedding day was perfect is an understatement! Everyone (Christina, Vitold, Merin, Dima etc.) at Sky Retreat was beyond kind, responsive, helpful, laid back and organized. We spent our entire wedding weekend at Sky Retreat with many of the wedding party staying in the adorable, clean cabins onsite. Our rehearsal dinner Friday night was huge success and our (200 person) wedding the next day was a fairy tail. Everyone kept commenting on how gorgeous the views were and how beautiful the venue was. I will be recommending this venue to any and every engaged couple I come across!!!!!!

This venue is absolutely amazing! Merin and her husband are so sweet, knowledgeable, and helpful! My husband and I went paragliding there, took dance lessons from them, and had our wedding at Sky Retreat. It was perfect! My husband and I went paragliding there, took dance lessons from them, and had our wedding at Sky Retreat. It was perfect! Our wedding night was practically perfect in terms of the venue. Decor was great and the staff were so friendly. They made sure we had drinks the whole time. The food was good and served in a timely manner. The DJ was also amazing. Our wedding coordinator really tried her best to make sure we were having a good time and to be stress free. This venue is good for those who want practically everything in one place. We did not want to pick our own flowers and catering and etc and this was perfect for us.

The staff and the venue are amazing! Each member is very easy to work with. They took care of all of our needs and more! We were greeted with a smile from the very beginning. Being that we are very detail oriented, they did a fantastic job making sure our dream wedding came true. This venue includes so many things already in its package that it really took a lot of pressure off wedding planning. Highly recommended. Great food, great staff, wonderful vendors and great ownership! Thank you staff for everything you did. All of our family and friends enjoyed every part of it.

Best of all, the rental price was half of some of the other venues in the area I looked at . Sky Retreat has really thought of everything to make weddings convenient, comfortable and spectacular for our special day. I would 100% recommend this for venue to anyone looking to and unforgettable wedding.

Merin Sazinas (Owner) Merin's vision is to create an environment for people to create their most special memories! As founders of Sky Retreat, she and her husband Dima combined all the activities they are passionate about for other people to enjoy! Sky Retreat combines the spectacular beauty of nature outdoors, with the elegant indoor wedding venue, and fun activities for wedding couples and their guests to enjoy. Merin is a professional ballroom dancer, meditation teacher, paraglider and enjoys meeting the wedding couples and hosting their most special days at Sky Retreat!
