Truly was the most gorgeous day - we are so thankful we had our wedding here. The ease of having a safe place for everyone to stay within walking distance of our reception was amazing. One thing that was a bit difficult was coordination with the staff in the beginning of the process. Definitely bring your A game and be sure to follow up on things. Once we were given a wedding coordinator, things got easier (Alex S - you were AMAZING!). All in all, our ceremony at Columbine Point and reception at Leggett Hall were everything we could ask for. Hailee Griffin(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-08-2020 We used YMCA - Snow Mountain Ranch for both our ceremony and reception and it was our PERFECT venue. First, we had a lot of guests traveling so this was the perfect place to have our wedding, as there are plenty of onsite lodging options available. We had guests in the basic lodge rooms, at RV campsites, and some even stayed in the yurts. It was wonderful to have a reunion cabin for the wedding party as well, so we had a place to get ready for the big day. Columbine Point is a breathtaking ceremony spot, my mother-in-law cried when we took her there for the first time. We had originally intended to host our reception at Adam's Promise, but due to COVID we relocated to the outdoor reception space of the Mountain Air Cookout Shelter, and it was absolutely perfect. We did all of our own decorations and it not only transformed the space to a beautiful reception venue, but it was also so personal to us. Now, the best part of the night was the food. We catered through the YMCA and chef Joe was amazing to work with. He was so enthusiastic about cooking our dinner, and it was delicious. We opted for the \"I do BBQ\" and so many of our guests said it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. The brisket was amazing, the chef made three different BBQ sauces, and I still dream about the mac and cheese. We could not be happier with our decision to go with Snow Mountain Ranch. They were so helpful and extremely adaptable as COVID unfolded. I am extremely happy to say that we followed all of the protocols in place set forth by the YMCA and all of our guests are still happy and healthy, and it's been over two weeks since our wedding. Kimberly was amazing to work with leading up to the wedding and she also acted as a day-of-coordinator. She was so pleasant, calm, and made pulling off our wedding under ever-changing circumstances seem effortless. YMCA - Snow Mountain Ranch is a true hidden gem, and it is the best value I could find to achieve the mountain wedding of our dreams. Reviewed on 07-09-2020
Abigail Hughes(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-12-2019 We had our wedding at snow mountain ranch in December 2019. We loved the venue and how affordable it was for our small wedding, and the fact that everything we needed was in one spot - ceremony venue, reception hall, and hotels for our guests. The coordinator (Alayna) was great to work with, easy to communicate with, and had thought of literally everything. This was incredibly helpful, as we DIY’d a lot of aspects of our wedding and didn’t have a day-of coordinator, and Alayna walked us through a lot of details we hadn’t thought about. The venue was cozy and it was a really beautiful wedding, and the mountain scenery made for an amazing backdrop for photos. The outdoor ceremony spaces also looked beautiful for a summer wedding. I’d definitely recommend SMR to anyone looking for a wedding venue! Reviewed on 25-04-2020

Holly Kingsbury(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-10-2019 Snow Mountain Ranch was an amazing setting for our late October wedding! The majority of our guests were coming from outside Colorado, and we wanted a place where everyone could stay together. SMR was perfect for that! Alayna and Mason were so helpful throughout the planning process, were so patient in answering all our questions, and were amazing the weekend of the wedding! They helped us find a backup outdoor ceremony site the day before the wedding when our original plan was impacted by snow, and everything was seamless. We still got to get married outside with an amazing view. SMR also catered the reception, and everyone raved about the food - barbecue and many sides as well as great appetizers! Kayla Travis(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-06-2019 We hired SMR as our wedding ceremony and reception venue. We got married at Columbine Point and held the reception at the Mountain Air Cookout Shelter. Columbine Point is spectacular. There is a road that pulls up to the venue so that guests have easy access. The Mountain Air Cookout Shelter is essentially a wooden shelter in the middle of a field of grass and woodchips with stunning views. We provided a bunch of lawn games for guests to play and the kids enjoyed exploring the swings and wood piles. We were able to arrange the inside of the shelter however we wanted. Essentially, we wanted a venue where we could look at the Rockies as we got married and then celebrate with loved ones over BBQ, games, ice cream, and dancing. That's what we got! In addition, the staff at the YMCA was so accommodating. We worked primarily with Alayna and she was a big burden lifter on the day of the wedding. I would get married at SMR again in a heartbeat! I love how guests can stay on SMN and all the activities available as well - our guests mountain biked, swam, rock climbed, hiked, etc. all on our wedding weekend! It's also amazing how many lodging options are available -- everything from yurts and camping to lodge rooms to luxury cabins -- something for everyone! Columbine Point is spectacular, and Adam's Camp is beautiful as well. Also, the food is amazing -- get the mac n cheese! Overall we were thrilled with our experience here. The majority of our wedding guests were coming from out of town and the variety of lodging options was really helpful. We reserved three reunion homes so that each of our families and our friends could stay in one place- these homes ended up doubling as the \"welcome dinner\" and after party spots. The Ranch has a range of venue and reception options that you can choose from, and all are gorgeous. It also has a ton of activities for your guests to enjoy so you don't have to worry about keeping them entertained all weekend. The wedding coordinator is great to work with- she's flexible and responsive to phone calls and answered all of our questions. The day of the ceremony we had to move it inside because of snow and she was instrumental in coordinating this. My only complaint would be that working with the people at registration wasn't always smooth- it wasnt clear what time people could check in/check out and the directions they gave our guests weren't always clear. katie mayer(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-07-2015 I had a really hard time giving these guys 4 stars. VERY conflicted. \r\rPart 1: Staff\rThe staff (once the new, actually engaged event planner and her assistant came on board)was amazing. The staff had arranged the reception tables exactly backwards, and Caitlin and Alicia busted their butts to get the tables in the right places. The port-o-potties were never cleaned (despite numerous requests)m, and they helped clean them themselves. They were kind, calm, and accommodating. LOVED Caitlin and Alicia. They get 5 stars.\r\rPart 2: The venue\rThe place does NOT look like much, but you can shine it up real nice. The mountain backdrop was amazing, and we were pretty happy with the overall effect. 4 stars.\r\rPart 3: The YMCA as an organization\rTERRIBLE. HORRIBLE. THE ABSOLUTE WORST. I brought in TONS of business for these guys and paid a LOT of money, and really, the staff could not have cared less. They screwed up almost every guest's reservation (which are almost impossible to get in the first place). They were rude on the phone every single time I called. They told me that they could not guarantee that I would be able to get into my cabin at 2pm so I could shower before my wedding. They were so disorganized. I feel like no one knew what was going on at any point in time. I basically felt like a number that they needed to just get in and then out as quickly as possible. It probably wound up costing us MORE than a standard venue because of all of the things that they just can't help with, don't have, or don't do. Everything was 5x harder than it needed to be, and it made for one VERY stressed out bride and MiL. You may want to consider all of the hassle before going with the Y for your wedding UNLESS you have a wedding planner to take care of all the BS for you!! 1 star!!!! Reviewed on 14-07-2015
Kate (bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-06-2015 I could not more highly recommend Snow Mountain Ranch as the perfect place for a wedding in the mountains. The Ranch is affordable, the staff is kind and very helpful, and the venue couldn't be more gorgeous. \rWe planned our wedding from out of state, and the SMR wedding coordinators (first Mike, and then Alicia) were so helpful via email, always answering all of my questions promptly. Alicia met with our caterer and my fiance and I a month before the wedding in person, too, to make sure everything went smoothly.\rThe day of the wedding, a storm was coming in at the exact time of our outdoor ceremony according to the weather radar, and Alicia and Caitlin were on it! We were able to move up the wedding ceremony 45 minutes without a hitch. All of our guests arrived, everything was set up on time at both the ceremony and reception, and we beat the rain! They checked in throughout the day (despite 3 other weddings also going on that weekend) and made sure everything was where it was supposed to be. \rWe were married at the wildflower outdoor chapel. The seats face the mountains and the views are absolutely stunning. This venue is much more affordable than their popular Columbine Point location but is still stunning. We held our reception in the outdoor cookout shelter (also very affordable!) and it was great. A little chilly in June when the storm blew through, but the ranch staff was able to nicely cover the side windows to keep the wind out as the storm passed and brought some heaters as well. Once the storm passed, the sun came out and set over the mountains -- the views behind the cookout shelter are amazing and perfect for wedding photos!\rSMR is not one of those fancy mountain ranches, but it's definitely the most affordable mountain venue, and it's wonderful! He was equipped with all the answers to my incessant questions, he never failed to reply instantly to all of my emails, and mostly he invested time in getting to know us and our wedding details to ensure that all went accordingly. We found out after our wedding that he was terribly sick the whole time and yet he put on a smile, went above and beyond and answered ALL urgent phone calls from my family on the day of the wedding. \r\rWe had our ceremony at Columbine Point - it was beautiful! It was outdoors so plan for all kinds of weather. We were lucky that the pouring rain stopped right at our ceremony time. It was breathtaking!\r\rWe had our reception at the Mountain Air Cookout. It was rustic and beautiful. For our time of year (October) we had 6 heaters in there and wrapped the open windows with a plastic insulating wrap that we got from Home Depot. It kept us warm, but I would've had 2 more heaters if I could've. The tables and decor were perfect for our rustic wedding. \r\rWe had the whole bridal party stay in one of their large cabins and we also hosted our rehearsal dinner there. It was amazing to be able to spend time with everyone all in one place!\r\rWe had a dream wedding. With all the fall colors it was gorgeous at Columbine Point and on the Snow Mountain Ranch property as a whole. Plus it ended up still being 75 degrees, which was amazing. Many of our family and friends live in Colorado, but it was still a perfect \"destination wedding\". They were all able to stay onsite pretty inexpensively. The abundance of lodging was a big reason why we chose Snow Mountain Ranch.\r\rOur reception was held at the Mountain Air Cookout Shelter and was great as well. The only down side was the lack of storage annd prep space, which will take a bit of planning on the caterer's part, but it's worth it. It's definitely rustic and a bit more casual than some of SMR's other reception spaces.\r\rThrough the process Mike, the onsite wedding coordinator, was very helpful and usually very prompt with his responses. He met with us twice to show us around the premises and to answer my husband and I's questions as well as our parents'. He also attended the wedding rehearsal and was helpful then as well.\r\rI think with SMR it is very important to have a day of coordinator (even if you just designate a friend). There are so many moving parts day of and the SMR staff does not really help with that, which was fine by me, but some brides may be bothered by that. \r\rOverall I could not have asked for a more gorgeous day and the venue was beyond perfect for us. I guess that doesn't matter all that much, because the \"wedding coordinator\" doesn't do much except send you the bill really. The staff was difficult to get ahold of and to ask questions as well. Upon arrival at our rehearsal, trying to get keys for the two large (and expensive) cabins I booked for girls/and one for the guys, they switched cabins giving wrong keys to people. This created a lot of drama since my wedding dress was placed in the wrong cabin. When we tried to straighten this out, the staff was very rude to us. Jessie Rathburn(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-07-2014 We chose to get married at Snow Mountain Ranch for several reasons. Not only is it in a beautiful part of Colorado, but it also includes so much more! \rThere are several site options within the ranch, and we chose to have our ceremony and reception at the Rowley Homestead. The location was perfect - remote, fabulous views, and the perfect size. There is no running water or indoor restrooms at this site, which we didn't mind, but that might be a red flag for some. You can transport water from other parts of the ranch, and they do have outhouses with hand-washing stations on site. The up-front cost for this site is reasonable, but I did spend more than I expected on everything I had to bring in: tent, generator, dance floor, lights, etc., in addition to all the typical rentals, decorations, food costs, etc. \rThe activities available at the ranch ensure that there is something for all of your guests to do - hiking, biking, frisbee, archery, canoeing, etc. \rThere are a lot of housing options at Snow Mountain Ranch, but this is where we had the most trouble. None of our guests were able to book cabins or yurts like we thought they would be able to, and while the lodge rooms are perfectly adequate, they aren't exceptionally luxurious. They are also a bit expensive if you don't have several people staying together to split the bill. Part of the reason we chose SMR was so that everyone could stay on-site, but unfortunately, this didn't happen. It still turned out great, but just know that it will take a lot of YMCA memberships to get enough cabins to house all your guests. \rThe wedding coordinator at SMR is great! He's very responsive, knowledgable, and easy to work with. He definitely made our experience easier. \rOverall, we are very glad we got married at the Rowley Homestead at SMR. It was a perfect day that we will cherish forever. It was worth every penny, but it will take us a bit longer to replenish our savings account than we had expected. :) Reviewed on 12-08-2014

The photos posted online are beautiful, and it's a gorgeous location in person as well. \r\rEmily and Alanna, the wedding/event staff, were very professional to work with and run both the rehearsal and the ceremony very smoothly; we didn't have to worry about anything concerning the ceremony itself. We asked the SMR chaplain, Steve Peterson, to officiate, and he was kind enough to spend a few hours getting to know us so that he could put together a very personal message for the ceremony. We really connected with Steve and he is a neat person to get to know, very personable (even though we are not very religious at all he didn't seem too bothered by it, which we appreciated). \r\rI planned my wedding from my current home in California, and didn't see the venue in person until the week of my wedding...when I got to Snow Mountain Ranch I could not get over how beautiful the location is. The property is huge, and I loved that my friends and family could stay on-site inexpensively. One thing to note is that at least in my wedding the Snow Mountain Ranch event/wedding planners seemed to be mainly focused on the ceremony; I used a full service caterer (Wild Horse Catering) which did a great job on the reception and having the combination of the two teams worked really nicely. Additionally I would caution brides to be aware of the high altitude at Snow Mountain Ranch; it's around 10000 feet and my elderly grandparents and also my friends from sea level had a little trouble with the altitude. Overall though I know our family and friends really enjoyed being at Snow Mountain Ranch and we keep getting comments about how lovely our wedding was! Reviewed on 11-10-2013
sbugbee (bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-06-2013 We got married at Columbine Point and had our reception at the Leggett Building. Itwas fantastic. The views and setting at Columbine Point are spectacular. We had the champagne toast after so our guests could enjoy being up there for a little longer. We did the horse drawn carriage to our reception, and that turned out to be one of our favorite parts... So much fun! Leggett Building was fantastic for the reception. My on,y complaint is it was difficult to get cabins... Their priority system and communication is poor and disappointing. Other than that.... Jillian McGlinchey(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-09-2013 Our wedding at Snow Mountain Ranch this summer was absolutely amazing! If you are looking for a venue that is light on the budget, relaxed, and beautiful, Snow Mountain Ranch is your place! The wedding team was so easy to work with and the Ranch provides you with the flexibility to do what you want. We were able to really mold our wedding weekend to be exactly how we wanted it. We had a welcome party in one of the 8 bedroom reunion cabins on Saturday night, and then on Sunday we hosted our wedding ceremony at Columbine Point and reception at Leggett Hall. Snow Mountain Ranch is a beautiful venue and such a great retreat for your wedding weekend. Our guests really felt a true sense of Colorado and felt so welcomed by the entire staff. Jessica (bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-09-2013 Snow Mountain Ranch is an awesome and A-Mazing location to host your ceremony, reception, and/or housing for your guests! We looked at over 10 places from Boulder to Estes Park to Granby and just fell in love with the tranquility and lack of touristy-ness at Snow Mountain Ranch. We held our reception in the Legett Building on 9/27/13 and rented Reunion Cabins for our guests to stay in for the weekend, since it was a destination wedding for pretty much everyone. We heard nothing but raves from our guests about the location. The venue also has multiple locations for hosting your ceremony that have stupendous views! The staff was helpful and allowed our guests to pay upon arrival, so that we would not have to collect money separately, which was a blessing, since we had so many other things to worry about pre-wedding. \r\rWe also really liked that the location provided our guests the opportunity to do other activities on-site and at the National Park without us having to plan them! Additionally, we look forward to having the ability to return to SMR on our anniversaries and to share the beauty of the location with our future kids as they grow. :) We highly recommend this venue for your Colorado Rocky Mountain Wedding! Ashleigh Rude(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-07-2013 Snow Mountain Ranch is the perfect spot to have an outdoor wedding. Our location for the ceremony was Columbine Point, and the weather behaved beautifully (even though we had a slight rain scare about an hour before showtime). A perfect place to have an affordable outdoor wedding that accommodates guest sizes up to 250 people. The back drop of the Colorado mountains, including a rugged wooden cross and tons of trees and natural wildflowers, was a wonderful perk. In fact, this outdoor spot is so great that our decorations at the ceremony site only consisted of a few bouquets and other small accents.\r\rOur wedding reception was held at The Serenity Tent about a 2-3 minute drive from Columbine point. We used Ear2Ear photo booths who were just awesome by putting together a guest-created guestbook; our guests enjoyed the fun and interactive experience... highly recommended!! The food was catered by Wild Horse Inn, and it was so delicious! They were a bit spendy, but we definitely got what we paid for. The service was great, food was excellent, and everything was very timely.\r\rOur one compliant was working with Grumpy Old Dave, of All Pro Rents. While the equipment was sufficient, the service and experience is not something we'd recommend unless you are in a major bind at the last minute (and even then he'd probably read you the riot act).\r\rTo round it out, Snow Mountain Ranch, while still coming into its own in the wedding industry, was a memorable location for our wedding. They accommodated our hundreds of questions and requests (including letting us store 30 vases of flowers in their walk-in fridge). One unfortunate part of this whole saga was that the SMR wedding coordinator resigned a week before our big day, so the transition to the new coordinator was fairly smooth but not an ideal experience. All in all, a great experience!\r\r Reviewed on 02-10-2013

We were married at the Rowley Homestead and had our reception in the same area. It was breath taking. It was easy to coordinate with the vender who provided the tent for the reception and had plenty of time to set up and really make it our own. It was also a blessing to be able to bring in our own caterer and bring in our own liquor. Our families were able to utilize the 8 bedroom cabins to provide the rehearsal dinner and have a mini family reunion at the same time! We worked with two different wedding coordinators, and both were very professional and very responsive. SMR was one of the best deals that we found for a mountain wedding and we had such a great time. They were very flexible with what we wanted to do and helped make our wedding great. This venue was perfect for us who wanted to do a lot of our things. lieschen (bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-05-2013 We had our wedding at the homestead in July. Snow Mountain Ranch helped us with all the accommodations, the rental was inexpensive and we were allowed to use any vendors we wanted! It allowed us to truly customize every piece of the wedding based on our desires completely avoiding all the strings that come with other locations like minimum orders or strict rules on caterers and rentals. \rIt is absolutely the best value around with tons of location options for ceremony and reception all over the property - near buildings or remote and secluded and everything in between.\rThe views are so spectacular we ended up catering our rehearsal dinner outside as well. \rOur wedding was pure perfection under a tent with full catering and bar and the outdoor ceremony had a spectacular view of Snow Mountain.\r\rI gave service four starts because they do have a high turnover rate so we did not get to work with the same wedding consultant the whole time we were planning which did lead to confusion a couple times. If you have a wedding planner you wont even notice this as a problem.\rQuality is a four because it is a rustic mountain setting and not a resort. This was absolutely perfect for what we wanted and you get more than what you are paying for, but it is not luxury and everything is not brand new or state of the art - honestly, in this spectacular setting, who cares! If you want luxury accommodations to accompany your wedding there are VRBO's and a golf course less than a five minute drive from the wedding sites that will knock your socks off. so even on this point you will not have to compromise - there are tons of options.\rIt is in a beautiful place, with access to everything you could want and is the only place we were truly free and could afford to throw the wedding of our dreams, no compromises. There are numerous activities for people to do there - hiking, horseback riding, swimming, ziplines, etc.\rThey offer a 50% off discount off the cost of the reception site if your guests book 20 rooms throughout the property for your wedding.
