Loved the Sonesta Shipyard! The outdoor Rotunda overlooking the lagoon was magical. It is an easy walk to the beach for pictures. The staff couldnât have been more helpful. Delaney, the wedding coordinator went out of her way to make us happy and make our special day perfect. I recommend this venue hands down.

Loved the Sonesta Shipyard! The outdoor Rotunda overlooking the lagoon was magical. It is an easy walk to the beach for pictures. The staff couldnât have been more helpful. Delaney, the wedding coordinator went out of her way to make us happy and make our special day perfect. I recommend this venue hands down.

Sonesta Resort was the best choice we made for our wedding! We are from Upstate New York and picked a handful of venues to tour on a quick trip. We toured Sonesta and 2 other venues in Hilton Head Island, and Sonesta was hands down the best. The scenery, location, and price were amazing! But that is not the reason we booked with them. The sales manager Delaney was the kindest, most dedicated, and fun person to work with! She made sure that we had everything we needed! I am gluten free, as were several of our guests, and Delaney ensure that almost all of the food was made gluten free or had a gluten free option. We also needed easels, reserved signs, and random items we thought we be an extra charge and were free. Sonesta goes above and beyond, 5 stars is truly not enough for the service we got!

we had the best experience at this hotel. Starting with Delaney, who guided us every step of the way and was always responsive to our needs. I'm not being biased, but truly the most beautiful wedding and reception. The workers were all compensating to us, we did not have to do a thing. I would recommend this place for a destination wedding any day! Oh did I mention the food, unbelievably good. We had Italian for the rehearsal and the grooms parents were a little nervous about it, as the brides family is Italian, so delicious! I cannot say enough about this place, loved every minute and also highly suggest the farewell brunch after! Happy wedding planning!

Delaney and team went above and beyond for our May 2023 wedding. Everything the day of the wedding was on time and well thought out from the moment we arrived. They also catered to the bride and groom the entire reception. I never had to look for a drink or food. They even saved us some cake and put it in our hotel room for us to enjoy after the wedding with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries.The food was amazing, and the Beach Pavillion is the perfect place to have a covered outdoor wedding/reception. Delaney and team went above and beyond for our May 2023 wedding. Everything the day of the wedding was on time and well thought out from the moment we arrived. They also catered to the bride and groom the entire reception. I never had to look for a drink or food. We recently got married on the beach and had our reception at the Sonesta Beachfront Pavilion! Everything was PERFECT. We worked with the event coordinator, Delaney, who was PHENOMENAL! She was so easy to work with and very responsive to all our questions and needs. Our wedding was everything we dreamed of, thanks to Delaney and the entire Sonesta crew. The food and beverages were delicious! We loved the pavilion area - and also liked that it can be closed in with clear sides incase the weather doesnât cooperate. They also have a cozy fireplace and heaters in the pavilion. We also had our Welcome Party at the Sea Crest terrace and farewell breakfast in the Savanna ballroom, both in the resort! Our guests loved the beach, pool and events all at the Sonesta! Would highly recommend the Sonesta Resort & Delaney! Our wedding was everything we dreamed of (& more!!) thanks to them!

Planning a wedding during a pandemic, halfway across the country (destination wedding) isnât the easiest task! However, Theresa was a phenomenal partner in the planning process. Theresa answered my questions before I even had them. She was my go-to person for not only wedding questions, but for general hotel, guest, and vacation questions as well. Theresa was so accommodating and quick to answer whether it was a phone call, email, or a last minute in-person meeting/trip to Hilton Head that I requested. I am a very organized and type A person, and Theresa exceeded my expectations of ensuring my timeline was followed and prompt, that I noticed no day-of hiccups, that guests were helped, and that everything was run smoothly. As a testament to the entire Sonesta catering staff, I cannot believe how friendly and accommodating everyone was. Staff put aside appetizers for my husband and I during cocktail hour to ensure we had a taste of each item. They were also so prompt in serving dinner/drinks that my guests could truly enjoy the entire night without waiting for long periods of time. Theresa and the staff really make sure your day is well-run and special. I highly recommend the Sonesta and specifically Theresa for any brides looking for the perfect beach wedding!

The venue was fantastic, the food was phenomenal, and Theresa was absolutely amazing to work with to make every dream come true! The single best decision (after selecting the best husband ever!) for our wedding was choosing the Sonesta for our venue. Even the sneak peek of our wedding photos on the property are gorgeous. My husband and I could not be more thrilled with how our recent October wedding went at the Sonesta. We spent a LOT of time researching and visiting venues once we knew we were going to do it in Hilton Head. Sonesta was the CLEAR standout - in part because of the incredible scenery, and in other part because of the cost. We were going for a simple and classic vibe, and the scenery at the Sonesta is just perfect between the beach, the pond and fountain, and the resort overall. We did our ceremony out on the lawn and our reception in the Pavilion. What we loved about the Sonesta was that if it rained, we could still have our wedding in the Pavilion, and could avoid doing anything in a ballroom. We worked mostly with Theresa Anthony and she is absolutely fabulous. She was always up front with us and so excited at the prospect of working with us. We knew we were in the best hands with Theresa. On top of all this, the food is incredible. We had such a hard time making decisions at our tasting because everything was so good and they have so many incredible options. We so look forward to going back to the Sonesta for our anniversary!

Sonesta was the CLEAR standout - in part because of the incredible scenery, and in other part because of the cost. We were going for a simple and classic vibe, and the scenery at the Sonesta is just perfect between the beach, the pond and fountain, and the resort overall. We did our ceremony out on the lawn and our reception in the Pavilion. What we loved about the Sonesta was that if it rained, we could still have our wedding in the Pavilion, and could avoid doing anything in a ballroom. We worked mostly with Theresa Anthony and she is absolutely fabulous. She was always up front with us and so excited at the prospect of working with us. We knew we were in the best hands with Theresa. On top of all this, the food is incredible. We had such a hard time making decisions at our tasting because everything was so good and they have so many incredible options. We so look forward to going back to the Sonesta for our anniversary!

The Sonesta exceeded our expectations and created a beautiful day. My husband and I got married on the beach and had our reception in the Pavilion last weekend. We booked the venue and started planning with Theresa last winter. Theresa was easy to work with, gave honest advice, and was timely in all responses. She respected our budget and helped connect us with some other amazing vendors in the area.The beach ceremony was beautiful! Yes, we did have some additional beach goers as guests, but everyone was respectful. The reception was beyond expectations. One of the big things that set the Sonesta apart from other venues is the multiple tiers on the deck. It help creates a better dance floor, and makes the space look more interesting. The only additional decorations to the space we made were paper lanterns (by the florists) that weren't needed but turned out really beautiful in the space. We didn't do any additional up lighting and I didn't miss it. The food was AWESOME. The service was excellent, and we had a really fun time with both of the bartenders that night. I really can't speak much higher of the Sonesta and the talented people there that created a beautiful wedding for us!

I have nothing but the best things to say about Sonesta HHI Resort. The entire staff at this resort is dedicated, professional and friendly! From the moment my husband and I toured the property, we knew this was the place we wanted to host our friends and family for our May wedding. Sonesta HHI hosted 80+ friends and family over 5 days for our destination wedding. We also planned everything to take place on site; a meet and greet, rehearsal dinner, wedding, reception and a day after pool party.Our event coordinator, Theresa, was absolutely phenomenal and extremely professional as she worked with me from 1K+ miles away. Theresa ensured that we were on track throughout the planning process, coordinated with local vendors and also went above and beyond for us on our wedding day and made sure every minute detail was perfect and exactly what we wanted.She also ensured that we had the best staff for our events and the Chef that prepared our menu was superb! One of the staff, Sam, assisted in ceremony and reception set up, and calmed my wedding jitters before the long walk down the aisle.Our guests and we agree that the Sonesta Hilton Head staff executed our wedding day flawlessly and delivered everything we wanted and they promised.

She was available for questions via telephone and email, and responded quickly to any questions we asked. Her years of experience helped calm the bride, the parents, and the bridal party. From the timing of the music to the setup of the ceremony and reception, every detail was executed seamlessly. I would not hesitate to put any event in her hands.The venue was the ideal setting for our families and friends as well. We had originally booked another venue, which would have required our guests to stay at a âgenericâ hotel, with few activities available. When staying at the Sonesta, we were able to gather with our guests in the rooms, in the lounges, on the patio, at the beachâŠ. The quality of the guest rooms is what you would expect from a true resort â well-stocked, exceptionally clean, and up-to-date. Because it is centrally located, guests have a great opportunity to easily explore the island.The food. I need to tell you about the food. Because we decided on a morning wedding (10:30), the reception was a glorious brunch. Instead of a buffet, we had separate stations for each type of food â yogurt/fruit, breakfast meats, omelet station, and everyoneâs favorite â shrimp and grits. This meant no lines, no waiting, which lead to happy guests and families. The quality of the food and the courtesy of the servers was far above expectations.The Sonesta provided us with a beautiful setting, great common areas to gather, high quality food and beverages, at a very reasonable price. Many kudos to Theresa and her gracious staff for organizing and serving us during this precious weekend event.

I can't even look back on our wedding day without tears in my eyes. It was flawless from beginning to end. The Sonesta is such a beautiful, clean and accommodating Resort. Kristen was our wedding coordinator. She was absolutely phenomenal. (Very prompt email responses, always helpful in answering questions, helped us stay in budget, etc) I still cannot believe how wonderful everything turned out. Our ceremony was on the beach. Our reception was in the gorgeous pavilion. The staff were so friendly. The food was amaaazing. My husband and I's only regret about the entire night was not eating more of the great food. Haha! We were obviously having too good of a time to be able to think about eating much. We kept receiving compliment after compliment about the food and venue. We are so thankful to Kristen and the Sonesta Resort.

Wow wow wow!! Definitely recommend having your wedding day at The Sonesta. Beautiful venue and layout, wonderful menu (the food is mouthwatering amazing), and the staff is super friendly! Even our hotel stay, they made you feel so special, definitely provided the VIP treatment. Also, Theresa our coordinator, was such a pleasure to work with. She made sure we had all the little details done for the big day. I was worried because I was planning a destination as I live in Pittsburgh and it's 12 hours away but trust me, everything they did and recommended was perfection. Everything went smoothly and as planned. Theresa is so much fun to work with too! On the big day, she kept us according to timeline. After the ceremony, she even managed to make sure me, my mom, and MIL had drinks in our hand at all times!! Our wedding day was everything we ever imagined and more. It was a true life fairytale! If you're pondering this as a venue, definitely choose The Sonesta, I promise you won't regret it. Our guests still keep talking about how much fun they had and how awesome the food was!!

Sonesta was the perfect wedding venue for us! We were married on June 17th, 2017 and we had 140 wedding guests. Everything from room blocks, to the ceremony and reception venue were perfect. We worked with the event coordinator Theresa Anthony and she's truly incredible at what she does. She was quick to respond to all of our emails and questions while planning (typically within minutes) and she made the wedding day run seamlessly. We were married under the Pavilion and we had our reception there as well. The venue is beautiful and requires minimal additional decor. The Pavilion was renovated sometime at the end of 2016 and the flooring and bar area are incredible. It was obviously a very hot day in June but with the shade of the Pavilion and the outdoor air conditioning units that the resort provided, it wasn't bad. There is a nice breeze off of the ocean. Our main goal for our wedding was to have a location where all of our guests could stay, and where we could have a great, fun, party and Sonesta met all of our expectations. We've had so many of our guests tell us how beautiful it was and what a great time they had. If you're looking for a destination wedding, this IS the place!

Highly recommendWe changed to the Sonesta after the hurricane. Theresa went above and beyond to transfer over the event. She worked with the kitchens and staff and re-create (and improve!) the event from the original hotel. The location was beautiful, the food was delicious and the service was excellent. I think it turned out even better than it would have at the first venue. Theresa made the planning easy and stress free despite changing the venue a month before the wedding. She also transferred over all of our guest details so they wouldnât have to make a new reservation. Absolutely excellent, and would highly recommend

I just can't say enough about this property. Our guests said it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to. We were also told it was the best wedding food they had ever eaten. In addition, all of our guests (over 30 rooms) said they were treated like royalty during their stay. The entire staff was amazing. Kristen was our contact and her attention to detail and making sure everything was perfect was her priority. I just wish we could do it all again. I was able to just enjoy the day because they had everything under control. Don't miss an opportunity to have your wedding here. I wish I could give this property more than 5 stars.

Choosing the Sonesta was the second best decision of our wedding â the first was me saying YES to my fiancĂ©.\r\rWhen we started our search for a venue, we wanted a place that made a first impression of âabsolutely, weâd want to spend the weekend (and our $) here for our friendâs weddingâ if we were the attendees. We immediately got that impression when we walked into the Sonesta Resort in Hilton Head. \r\rThe energy and feel of the entire resort flowed from bright colors and patterns, into the multiple sleepy hammocks and lounge chairs. The newly renovated hotel had modern rooms with the details of home (e.g. my Keurig from home somehow followed to my room.)\r\rI canât say enough about the highly attentive staff that made me and my now husband feel so special, as if the place was all ours and just for us. We were fortunate to work with Theresa Anthony who I connected with immediately. Experienced, confident, caring and energetic â she was responsive, proactive and guided me in the right directions (sheâs done this countless times â it was my only wedding). I felt like I made a friend through the planning process.\r\rThe beach setting and multiple venue options gave us confidence of if we needed a rain option â but none was needed with a perfect October day. All I can say is superb. The staff at the Sonesta is beyond wonderful, friendly, and caring of their guest. We had a wedding for 50 people. The staff had a ball with our family and made everything I wanted and some I didnt even know I wanted a reality. The guest are still talking about the food and the resort itself. The resort was beautiful and the beach was clearly visible for the guest to enjoy during the ceremony and cocktail hour. If you want a memoriable location and wonderful, competent staff then definitely choose the Sonesta. You wont regret it.

I would highly recommend this resort for wedding! The hotel was recently renovated with a upscale modern beach look with gorgeous rooms. The catering director was a pleasure to work with and she ensured the night went smoothly. The food was phenomenal and I received many of the same comments from our guests. I would highly recommend this resort for wedding! The hotel was recently renovated with a upscale modern beach look with gorgeous rooms. The catering director was a pleasure to work with and she ensured the night went smoothly. The food was phenomenal and I received many of the same comments from our guests. I would highly recommend this location.

From the time we checked in the staff was very attentive to our needs. They made everything so easy. I was amazed at how everything went off without a hitch. They met with me whenever I needed, they helped me with every aspect of the wedding, they timed everything beautifully, and the food was outstanding! My guests loved the resort, as well. It was like a vacation for us all!
