What an amazing venue and staff. I love this hotel for our regular trips, but getting married here was the best ever! The Creekside ceremony and pool cocktail hour was picturesque. The staff was so helpful the entire stay and really went out of their way to make us feel special and make sure we had everything we needed.

We were lucky enough to have our wedding weekend at the Sonnenalp, and the weekend was nothing short of magical and dreamy. Located in the heart of Vail Village, it was a perfect spot for our out of town guests to explore, ski, and walk around the village, and enjoy everything Vail has to offer. The Sonnenalp Staff is exceptional, our guests couldn't stop singing their praises. Sonnenalp is beyond beautiful and so charming- from the unique rooms, a special turn down service each night, wonderful pool, spa, and hot tub. The wedding cocktail hour in the Kings Club to the reception in Ludwigs restaurant, it was beyond magical and something we will talk about for years to come. Delicious food, wonderful ambiance, and staff that was attentive, polity, and always anticipated our needs.The entire staff was incredible, but specifically our coordinator, Nghi, was perfect. She made it so special- we loved her!!! I cannot sing their praises enough. We cannot wait to be back! Thank you Sonnenalp for creating magical memories with us, we will never forget it!

We had the most incredible wedding weekend at the Sonnenalp hotel! Planning a wedding is stressful in itself but planning during a global pandemic was definitely not expected! The entire staff at the Sonnenalp was so incredibly attentive, helpful, understanding and went above and beyond to ensure that our day was perfect- and it was! They kept us up to date with all covid restrictions and did everything in their power to make us (and our guests) feel comfortable! Nghi and Patricia were the best wedding planners- we were thrown many curve balls this last year of planning and they both knew exactly what should be done and how to execute perfectly! Patricia spoiled us during our 'tasting' weekend and it was so special to be able to spend an additional weekend with my parents and fiance in Vail. We were able to spend the Friday before our wedding at the pool with our wedding party and it was the perfect start to the wedding weekend! The food was incredible and the cocktail hour by the pool was perfect. I am not a planner at all (it stresses me out lol) but Nghi helped to make my vision into a reality. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is always there to assist. My grandparents were staying elsewhere but the concierge helped to organize a pick up and drop off for them on our wedding day. You will not regret staying at this property and if you are planning a wedding, Nghi is your girl! She is just fabulous. It really was the best weekend of our lives!

I cannot say enough times how incredible the Sonnenalp Hotel is. My now husband and I had toured 5 venues and the second that we walked into the Sonnenalp, we knew that we needed to get married there. The hospitality was incredible upon our very first visit, the hotel is so beautiful and from the second we toured the Sonnenalp, we knew we were in excellent hands.We got married at the Sonnenalp in July of 2021 and it was nothing less than perfect. Nghi had recently taken on her role as the Catering Sales & Event Manager and made sure that her team at the Sonnenalp was organized and well versed for how the evening was planned to go. The room was set up perfectly, the food was amazing, the bar service was incredible. We actually overheard so many guests say that the dinner was the best wedding dinner that they had ever had. Nghi made sure to check-in with my husband and I to make sure that we were happy on our wedding night, and of course we were! She made sure that we had wine in our room at the end of the night too, so thoughtful!Nghi was also very flexible with my last minute changes too! She made our wedding dreams a reality.10/10 recommend the Sonnenalp Hotel for a wedding venue.

We hosted our son’s rehearsal dinner in Ludwigs Restaurant with cocktails around the pool. It was outstanding. The food, drinks, venue and service were just perfect. We had the pleasure of working with Amy Lilyquist. Amy saw to every detail for the evening. Amy is so professional, pleasant and extremely competent. I would highly recommend Amy and the Sonnenalp.

I cannot say enough amazing things about my wedding experience at the Sonnenalp Hotel! We got married in September 2020. The planning process was stress-free (hard to achieve during Covid!). Amy Lilyquist was phenomenal, supportive and helped with every decision. The guest services that we experienced (including all my wedding guests) were simply impressive. All of our needs were met and we felt special attention was paid to our group. The actual wedding was perfect. From the ceremony outside by the river, to the cocktail hour, to the reception in Ludwigs - It was flawless and effortless. The food was delicious (at the ceremony, and all other meals at the hotel). There is not a thing we would change. The hotel rooms, especially the suites, we beautiful and perfect for getting ready on the day of the wedding. We expect to visit the Sonnenalp for our anniversary every year and feel so grateful to have this amazing place as a special part of our story.

Our wedding was originally scheduled here for May, however with COVID we moved the wedding to 10/24. Amy originally helped us (we planned the event 2.5 years in advance... lol) and then we were transferred to Jennifer midway through as Amy was promoted. Jennifer exceeded our expectations. She is SO CALM, collected, thorough, detailed and precise. She helped us during the crazy times of moving a wedding and reassured us every step of the way. I immediately fell in love with the Sonnenalp for the wedding and reception venue. The details are extraordinary, they have a weather backup, and the food is phenomenal from the restaurant. Many venues in Vail do NOT have weather backups, you must provide a TON of decorations, and the food has to be catered - Sonnenalp is not this way which makes having your wedding here AMAZING. The day of the wedding was amazing. The hotel rooms are all so exquisite and unique and it was like having a slumber party/gathering/reunion with everyone at the hotel together. Breakfast was amazing, room service was amazing, and the Spa is also AMAZING. I have nothing negative to say about Sonnenalp. We will try to come back here again and again. I will recommend this to everyone! They exceeded all expectations, provided amazing vendors to work with who were also phenomenal, and just overall the professionalism was 100%.Thanks again!

Despite all the stress involved with getting married in the middle of a pandemic, the day was magical. Amy alleviated much of that stress, and helped our family feel safe and welcome — so we could focus on celebrating the milestone!Oh, and the venue itself was perfect: the flowers were blooming, the guests around the pool cheered us on, and we loved having dinner at Ludwig's with its retractable roof. Highly recommend, all around.

The staff is so helpful and accommodating and the hotel is absolutely beautiful. Amy supported us every step of the way and made sure the day of went perfectly. Our guests still can't stop talking about how beautiful the hotel is, how amazing the food was, and how safe they made us all feel. I wish I could give them 10 stars - I'm actually glad my original venue cancelled because the Sonnenalp was everything I could've hoped for and more.

Wow. I’m truly speechless. The Sonnenalp literally made our wedding. The day of was the most perfect day, went off without a hitch. But not only that, we felt like we and our guests were treated like Kings and queens the entire week from the moment we arrived four day before the wedding. Every restaurant went out of their way to squeeze in guests who forgot to make reservations, Milos, our bartender all week and wedding night, was constantly being attentive and making sure our drinks were perfect, the staff delivered anything we needed to our rooms at the drop of a dime. The staff let us be loud and happy and enjoy ourselves every moment and hour. It seemed as if every employee on site is 10/10.I couldn’t have dreamed of a better wedding venue/wedding week experience. We and our guests will be coming back for life. I’m almost in tears again thinking about how perfect it all was. I should have known it would be so great with how comforting and accommodating they were with Covid. They made what could have been a nightmare wedding experience, and was for most this year, the easiest, smoothest and happiest thing. This venue is truly extraordinary. I don’t have enough words to thank them.

Wow. I’m truly speechless. The Sonnenalp literally made our wedding. The day of was the most perfect day, went off without a hitch. But not only that, we felt like we and our guests were treated like Kings and queens the entire week from the moment we arrived four day before the wedding. Every restaurant went out of their way to squeeze in guests who forgot to make reservations, Milos, our bartender all week and wedding night, was constantly being attentive and making sure our drinks were perfect, the staff delivered anything we needed to our rooms at the drop of a dime. The staff let us be loud and happy and enjoy ourselves every moment and hour. It seemed as if every employee on site is 10/10.I couldn’t have dreamed of a better wedding venue/wedding week experience. We and our guests will be coming back for life. I’m almost in tears again thinking about how perfect it all was. I should have known it would be so great with how comforting and accommodating they were with Covid. They made what could have been a nightmare wedding experience, and was for most this year, the easiest, smoothest and happiest thing. This venue is truly extraordinary. I don’t have enough words to thank them.

Amy Lilyquist, the wedding planner/coordinator for the Sonnenalp, is absolutely incredible and cannot say enough wonderful things about her. Despite juggling several weddings at a time, she is always timely and responsible. Her and her team fulfilled every type A request I had for my reception, down to type of raspberries I wanted in my signature drink. The food and cake are made in house, and is not your typical catered wedding food. Every guest said their meal was 5 stars. The service staff were professional and accommodating to each guest, and made the setup and cleanup as seamless as possible. I will forever have the best memories because of this hotel and its wonderful staff who made my wedding day happen!

She took care of everything I could have imagined and handled things I didn’t even think of. My husband and I held our wedding reception at the Sonnenalp this past month. The wedding was perfect! Ludwigs was absolutely beautiful with all the windows (including the roof) giving natural light. The staff was extremely helpful and efficient. They handled everything with the wedding director, Amy, so I never had to worry about a single thing and could truly enjoy the day with my new husband. The food was delicious! Multiple guests told me it was the BEST meal of their life. My Great Aunt, who is in her 80s, said it was the best wedding she's ever attended, which says a lot since she's been to many weddings. The lead up to the wedding was extremely fun too. Amy was so helpful answering all my questions (and my parents' questions) and she was patient as we went through all the different decisions together. She was also good about laughing at my husband's \"jokes.\" My husband and I will spend each anniversary at the Sonnenalp for hopefully many years since this is such a special place! I highly recommend the Sonnenalp for your wedding!

Sonnenalp was an amazing wedding venue. Absolutely breathtaking room with spectacular views. The staff was amazing. Would absolutely recommend. We live in Florida and booked the venue site unseen!! Would choose Sonnenalp over and over again. Can't wait to go back! If I have any advise for out of towners. My husband and I got married at the Sonnenalp over Labor Day weekend. I cannot adequately express how spectacular this venue is.The ceremony location right on Gore Creek is beautiful, and the gorgeous reception area with a glass-enclosed, retractable roof is perfect. We had wonderful weather, but knowing that in the event of rain the venue would be just as lovely made me a lot less stressed in the months leading up to the wedding.The food is incredible - I've been to a lot of weddings and have not generally been wowed by the food. But the Sonnenalp's cuisine is five star in its own right. I loved that the chefs were flexible and made adjustments to our menu selections to align with our specific tastes - it made the menu feel much more personalized and our own. My husband and I, as well as most of our guests, are from New York so we had some pretty discerning palates to please. I was floored at the number of people who told us how good the food was and even mentioned specific dishes they loved (the gazpacho and the lamb were big hits). And perhaps most surprisingly - since in my experience wedding cakes almost always look better than they taste - the wedding cake prepared by the Sonnenalp pastry chef was the highlight! Tons and tons of people commented on how delicious it was.Finally, but most importantly, I must mention the Sonnenalp's wedding coordinator Amy. Simply put, we could not have pulled off a destination wedding without her. From start to finish, Amy exuded professionalism and was always very responsive to our many questions and requests. Somehow Amy makes each couple feel like all her focus is on them; even though the Sonnenalp hosts lots of weddings, in our interactions with Amy we always felt special and that we had her full attention. Amy thought of every detail, no matter how small - making sure to get our input on lots of things we'd never even have thought to mention. She also ensured the day itself went smoothly, and did a great job of coordinating with all our vendors in the lead-up to the wedding so we could focus on each other and our guests.Thank you so much to Amy and the entire Sonnenalp staff for making our wedding so memorable!

The Sonnenalp Hotel is absolutely stunning! The first time we saw the venue in person we fell in love with it. Amy, Director of Catering and Services, was our contact throughout the entire process and we lucked out. She and her staff were extremely kind and professional. You can tell right from the get-go that they knew what they were doing and had executed several beautiful wedding day events. And that's exactly what you want to see and feel when searching for your wedding venue. She explained everything with great detail and we left feeling very confident in their abilities. Long story short we selected the Sonnenalp and had the best day of our lives! The team was very responsive and proactive. Amy even let us know that she would be out of the office for a couple days just in case we needed to reach her for anything. We were 6 months away from our date when she did this, talk about being professional and making sure your clients are taken care of! The day before the wedding we had our walk-through with our wedding party and Amy. It was smooth and to the point. Amy worked with our wedding planner and we devised a plan of attack for the big day. Our ceremony was just what we expected. The Sonnenalp had everything set up just how we wanted. They worked with our vendors and didn’t encounter any issues. We had our ceremony outside and it was beautiful with the scenery and stream in the background. The only thing we would point out is that the pool is technically open for hotel guests during the ceremony. Keep in mind all guests and wedding party have to walk by the pool to the ceremony site. This meant there were people swimming and hanging by the pool 5 minutes before the wedding BUT Amy did an amazing job in explaining the situation to the hotel guests. No one was swimming when we walked down the aisle but guests were sitting there watching. Honestly, it wasn’t a big deal at all and it was actually a cool experience because the guests were considerate and understood the magnitude of the event. We had our cocktail hour by the pool and by the time our ceremony was over all the people by the pool were gone. The dinner was one of the best meals we’ve ever had. Service was outstanding and all guests were taken care of. We would choose the Sonnenalp Hotel 100 times over because of the beautiful location and service we received. The Sonnenalp was the perfect venue for our August wedding. The entire team, lead my Amy Lilyquist, are completely top-notch! No detail is overlooked, the service is flawless, but most importantly, the feel and experience are really something unique and memorable. It is palpable that everyone at this family run hotel really cares about your special day and hopes to welcome you back even after your wedding. Amy is so thorough and thoughtful, she really made us feel taken care of from start to finish. We had so many compliments from our guests about the beautiful setting, amazing food (best ever!) and how much they enjoyed their hotel stay. The Sonnenalp was the perfect venue for our August wedding. The entire team, lead my Amy Lilyquist, are completely top-notch! No detail is overlooked, the service is flawless, but most importantly, the feel and experience are really something unique and memorable. It is palpable that everyone at this family run hotel really cares about your special day and hopes to welcome you back even after your wedding. Amy is so thorough and thoughtful, she really made us feel taken care of from start to finish. We had so many compliments from our guests about the beautiful setting, amazing food (best ever!) and how much they enjoyed their hotel stay. They could not have made the planning process any easier, nor made the night more perfect. I wish we could do it all over again!

We received countless comments on how quality the food was and everyone genuinely enjoyed their meal. You will not be disappointed with anything on the menu and people actually ate the cake because it was so good. The setup of the venue makes for a great day as well. The ceremony site is very intimate and worked well for our wedding of 100 people. The ceremony moves perfectly into the cocktail hour and allows guests to see the reception space in Ludwig’s as a whole new venue. The reception space in Ludwig’s is an absolutely perfect elegant mountain wedding venue. The open roof really makes the space unique and the placement of the bar worked great too. The Sonnenalp and its team surpassed our wildest dreams and we could not have been happier with our choice.

Our Ceremony site was right by the creek and the sound of water made everything that much more romantic.We are not from Colorado and planning our wedding from hundreds of miles away was stressful, but receiving detailed description of the site, menu items, and pictures made decision making so easy and comfortable.Amy helped me for 11 months leading up to the wedding by answering my 2 million questions and concerns. Every time I emailed her, my mind was immediately put at ease that everything will turn out exactly how we had envisioned. She cared about every single detail like a family member would care. I am forever grateful to her for creating such a magical day for us. She is one of my favorite people and I truly miss her in my life now that the wedding is over. The whole experience at Sonnenalp was a very personal experience.Our wedding was customized to what we wanted and had pictured. We had some of our decor brought in and Amy accommodated storage and placement of all the decors. I consider myself a words person but probably can't find the words to properly describe how wonderful our wedding experience was at Sonnenalp. The hotel itself is stunning, luxurious but also cozy and quaint feeling, and honestly an ideal escape vacation in and of itself. The decor is tasteful, intricate, warm, and even their \"standard\" rooms have a suite feel to them - every single one has a fireplace! The bathroom floors are heated! The breakfast bar is insane! So, needless to say the setting is lovely and definitely somewhere you want to spend time, wedding or not. Then, you factor in the Sonnenalp events team, specifically Amy Lilyquist, and it easily becomes the best possible option for a wedding venue in Vail. Amy and her team are absolute professionals, proactive, thoughtful, and seemed excited to help us make our wedding exactly what we wanted. Working with Amy, I always knew what to expect, she was patient, personal, and even when a few of my other vendors were slow to respond to me going into wedding week, Amy had already touched base with them and set expectations that helped the whole event run smoothly. My mom & I decided the only way to describe her is as a fairy godmother of weddings. Throughout the wedding weekend, she was there supporting and organizing a crowd without ever feeling pushy which was a huge relief because I personally don't like having to corral - and besides, she's much better at it than me. The food was delicious, the options for indoor/outdoor give you everything you want in a single venue, and Ludwig's is SO beautiful - I wish I could re-live it all the time. And, it's right in downtown Vail village - so no one has to worry about driving anywhere at all. I would recommend it wholeheartedly for any special event, but especially for the wedding of your dreams.

I consider myself a words person but probably can't find the words to properly describe how wonderful our wedding experience was at Sonnenalp. The hotel itself is stunning, luxurious but also cozy and quaint feeling, and honestly an ideal escape vacation in and of itself. The decor is tasteful, intricate, warm, and even their \"standard\" rooms have a suite feel to them - every single one has a fireplace! The bathroom floors are heated! The breakfast bar is insane! So, needless to say the setting is lovely and definitely somewhere you want to spend time, wedding or not. Then, you factor in the Sonnenalp events team, specifically Amy Lilyquist, and it easily becomes the best possible option for a wedding venue in Vail. Amy and her team are absolute professionals, proactive, thoughtful, and seemed excited to help us make our wedding exactly what we wanted. Working with Amy, I always knew what to expect, she was patient, personal, and even when a few of my other vendors were slow to respond to me going into wedding week, Amy had already touched base with them and set expectations that helped the whole event run smoothly. My mom & I decided the only way to describe her is as a fairy godmother of weddings. We could not have asked for a better place! Not only is this the most beautiful venue my wife and I had looked at, but the Sonnenalp has a rather special charm. It is gorgeous while still being very welcoming; it was just what we had in mind when we planned on having a mountain wedding. Amy was absolutely phenomenal through the whole process and made us feel very well taken care of, and most importantly, she kept our minds at ease through the whole process. We have immense appreciation for her for all the effort and love that she put into our special day. Amy, as well as all staff at the hotel were truly welcoming and exceptional. It's the perfect venue if you want to feel like you are having an outdoor wedding but don't want to worry about a weather plan B as Ludwig's has the breathtaking glass ceiling and walls that open and close. Amy and her team were extremely organized and accommodating - even their pastry chef made a custom French wedding cake for us. Our wedding at the Sonnenalp was PERFECT! Where can I begin?The planning process is stressful. There are so many details to consider -- especially if you host a destination wedding. Amy Lilyquist - our host at the Sonnenalp - made the planning process incredibly easy. She helped us coordinate and work seamlessly with all of our vendors - the florist, the photographer, the videographer, the DJ, and the event planner. Amy also helped us navigate the menu and the different options at the Sonnenalp to make great choices for the meal at the rehearsal dinner and the reception.Our reception was at the Vail Interfaith Chapel, which was beautifully adorned. The best part is that the Chapel is directly across the street from the Sonnenalp. It was a breeze to go from the ceremony to the happy hour to the reception.The reception was SPECTACULAR. I can't even begin to explain. The food was amazing. The weather was perfect (okay, I know they can't control that - but Colorado in June? Wowzers!). We had the glass roof at Ludwig's wide open and enjoyed the stars over the Rocky Mountains. It was a dream come true!I can't thank the staff at the Sonnenalp enough. Everyone made our stay relaxing and fun. I would do it again a hundred times.

The Sonnenalp provided an exceptional wedding experience for my husband and my families. They were organized and professional in everything that they did. We always felt that a great wedding experience was at the forefront of their minds and they provided all the services they could to help us achieve our dream day. We hosted both our reception and our rehearsal dinner at their hotel in the Swiss Chalet and Ludwig's Restaurant, respectively. The food was wonderful and the cake was beautiful. The pastry chef went out of her way to bake our special request groom's cake.On the night of the wedding, my grandfather lost his balance and fell while he was dancing. The hotel staff was quick to help him and his wife to the hospital for evaluation. They were genuinely concerned for his health and they asked us multiple times over the following weeks regarding his improvement. After the wedding, my husband and I stayed at the hotel for our honeymoon and the hospitality continued. We had no complaints regarding the weekend and I would recommend their venue to anyone searching for a beautiful mountain wedding site!

There are no words to describe how amazing my experience with the Sonnenalp was. I was that bride who has dreamt of my wedding day my whole life (so it’s safe to say I had concerns about reality living up to it- spoiler alert- it TOTALLY did!!) From the first moment we met with Amy- we knew that this was the place for us. I had met with a good handful of venues before visiting the Sonnenalp, but once I met Amy- I felt this “at ease” connection with her. Amy was so open and helpful -that knowing she would be the one I would be working with- was a huge selling point. (I felt like it was ok to ask lots of silly questions) In addition to my amazing experience working with Amy…. I HAVE to make mention of just how beautiful the Sonnenalp is as a whole. We got married outside by the creek and had our reception in Ludwigs. If you have seen pictures of Ludwigs online.. let me just tell you… it is 10 times better in person. If you are thinking about the Sonnenalp… do it!! You won’t regret it. I still have guest telling me that it was the best wedding they have ever been at.

We had our daughter's wedding reception at the Sonnenalp Hotel in Vail Colorado. It was the most beautiful and romantic spot in the Vail Valley. Amy Lilyquist and her staff at the Sonnenalp were fantastic. Amy was amazing to work with making it a truly enjoyable experience. She was knowledgeable, helpful, hard working and tended to every detail. The entire staff was courteous, efficient and also worked very hard. We could not have been more pleased with the wedding as it was a perfect and unforgettable evening. All of our guests had an incredible time. We would whole heartedly recommend the Sonnenalp Hotel as a first choice for anyone who wants a mountain wedding.

I couldn't imagine a more perfect setting than the glass terrace of the Sonnenalp. The hotel event planner was very responsive in helping us plan for the big day. If you have vendors for everything then you will be fine but we did our own flowers. They were delivered a day early and the hotel left the garland outside the entire day after we asked it to be put in a fridge. If it hadn't been cool outside, it would have burnt up. Other than that, everything went smoothly. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their stay and the wedding was amazing! It was a wonderful wedding weekend. Thank you Sonnenalp!

The Sonnenalp Hotel was our perfect wedding reception venue! Our hope was to host our 200 guests with a cocktail hour after our chapel ceremony followed by a seated dinner and dancing with a band. And we accomplished that with the Sonnenalp! My groom and I are from Dallas, and were originally worried about planning a destination wedding by ourselves. However, the wedding coordinator at the Sonnenalp made planning our wedding seemless! She answered all of our questions in a timely manner, helped us think through and plan detailed logistics of the day, and even helped us problem solve our floor plan for dinner! On the day of our wedding, she and our month-of wedding coordinator handled all of the vendors and setup, which allowed me to rest and enjoy the day! The Sonnenalp staff was professional, helpful and tended us and our guests with the highest level of quality service. The atmosphere on our wedding day was indescribable. The cocktail hour in the gardens of the hotel was elegant and effortless given the natural beauty of their landscaping and the creek. Dinner in Ludwigs and Bully's Ranch was cozy, warm and and relaxing! We had originally hoped all of our guests could be in one room for dinner, but looking back now, we see that spreading out over two conjoined spaces and multiple rooms made for a more comfortable, noise-controlled dinner. Our wedding party sat at two long tables under an open roof in the terrace, which was quite simply magical. Coming from Texas, hosting our wedding at the Sonnenalp allowed us to enjoy the great outdoors of the Colorado Mountains with our guests, with the security of beautiful facilities that compliments the natural landscape. Our band reception was SO much fun. All of our guests loved dancing under the stars to our amazing band! The Sonnenalp Hotel was hands down the perfect wedding reception venue for us. We highly recommend!

I had the pleasure of having my wedding ceremony (lawn) and reception (Ludwigs Terrace) at the Sonnenalp Hotel Aug. 2017.The entire venue was a dream. I was planning our wedding from FL and chose the Sonnenalp via photos only. I didn't get to see it until we arrived the week of our wedding and it was everything and more. From day one it was obvious that Amy had everything handled and under control. she answered every single one of my annoying questions without hesitation. Visually the space is amazing... and every single one of the staff made us feel like we were the only people getting married that week. We are looking forward to spending every anniversary at the Sonnenalp Hotel and I know you won't be disappointed if you choose them to host your wedding/reception :)

We had a Welcome Party for our daughter's wedding in Ludwig's Terrace. We had an Oktoberfest theme. It was a perfect venue. They had the glass roof open and it could not have been any better. The food was over the top outstanding, the service was excellent and our event coordinator, Amy Lilyquist, guided us through every step and was wonderful to work with. It is obvious that the Sonnenalp takes tremendous pride in what they do and it certainly showed at our event. Thank you for everything you did and for helping us to have such a memorable evening.

Our wedding at the Sonnenalp was perfect, in every way possible. The impeccable property grounds, Michelin level food, service levels of staff and event planning management, are all what a great experience at a hotel of this caliber should live up to and the Sonnenalp did not fall short. My husband and I grew up outside of Colorado, so the Sonnenalp and Vail were the perfect canvas for our out of town guests. The guests all left with an incredible taste of Colorado and I have the Sonnenalp and Amy Lilyquist, event sales manager, to thank for it all. She brings project management to the next level and as the leader of her staff, did not leave a single detailed unturned. As most brides are, I was incredibly detail oriented, and Amy was a great match for all of my requests. We hired an outside florist, photographer, DJ and guitarplayer, but other than that Amy and her staff handled all the rest of the details. I would more than happily recommend the Sonnenalp to any bride and groom interested in a wedding in Vail.

My favorite parts were all the flowers in bloom on the property and that the weather allowed us to have the glass ceiling open inside of Ludwigs! The food was also delicious, we did the bavarian buffet, and our cake was so beautiful! Thank you Sonnenalp, we can't wait to come back to stay on Sonnenalp and remember our special celebration.

Planning a rehearsal/welcome dinner is not an easy task especially when you live three thousand miles away from the wedding venue. I did my research and decided on The Sonnenalp Hotel. I definitely make the right choice. It could not have been any better. Amy Lilyquist, the Event Sales Manager was one of the most professional people I've ever dealt with. She returned every call and answered every question candidly and honestly. We tried to keep the number of guests down to 130 but actually wound up with 160 delighted guests. The only thing better than the service was the food. Everything and I mean everything was amazing. The venue was beautiful, with cocktails by the pool and dinner on the terrace. A beautiful setting for a fabulous event.

I couldn't have dreamt up a more perfect wedding than what we experienced at the Sonnenalp! My husband and I live on the east coast but consider Colorado our happy place and try to go as much as we can. So, naturally my now husband (then fiancé) suggested that we plan our wedding there. I was excited but totally overwhelmed by the thought of planning a destination wedding. So, my mom and I flew and toured over a dozen venues and nothing was quite right. The Sonnenalp was our last stop, and from the second we walked in and met Amy Lilyquist we knew we had found the perfect place. The atmosphere of the hotel felt warm, yet very luxurious, and the venues for the various events were exquisite, especially the glass enclosed veranda -- the perfect backdrop for our wedding ceremony and reception! Amazing aesthetics aside, I have to give a HUGE thank you to Amy and her wonderful fellow staff. The Sonnenalp provides literally everything for you which was a huge relief for a bride 3000 miles away. I didn't have to hire a separate wedding planner, Amy helped to coordinate my timeline and kept everything running super smoothly. I didn't have to bring in any extra furniture (although you are welcome to), we used everything that the hotel provided us. I booked all my vendors from their preferred vendors list and was thrilled with all of them. All of my friends marveled at how stress free my wedding planning was -- and I admit I owe it all to the wonderful team at the Sonnenalp. Our guests all stayed at the hotel and raved about the rooms, the spa, and most of all the wedding! It was perfection and I would choose it over again 10 out of 10 times!

Recently had my wedding at the Sonnenalp hotel (both ceremony and reception) and it could not have been a more perfect day. The hotel took care of everything so I had zero stress day-of or even leading up to the big event. The ceremony site by the pool is beautiful and makes for a super convenient way to transition into reception in Ludwig's (after cocktail hour by the pool). The terrace is awesome at night and creates the most romantic setting with twinkle lights and an open sky light. I still have guests sending me texts/cards/emails saying how much fun they had and how it was one of the best wedding's they've ever attended. The attention to detail, service and overall attentiveness of staff can't be beat. I highly recommend it for ceremony and/or reception.

This was by far and away the best decision we made in the wedding planning process. We did both our ceremony and reception at the Sonnenalp and could not be more pleased. Amy and the staff at the Sonnenalp pulled out all of the stops to make our wedding day absolutely perfect. You cannot beat this venue. Our guests are still raving about the rooms, service, and food (we had several guests book additional nights to extend the vacation because of how impressed they were).

The Sonnenalp made our wedding the best day of our lives. Everything went off a hitch... I don't think anything could have been improved one bit. Amy was incredible during the entire planning process and without her help there's no way it would have been as big of a success. We can't wait for the photos to come back, but the already beautiful venue looked even more amazing after some minimalistic decorating.Our guests were amazed. We received nothing but the highest of compliments from our friends and family on how beatuful the venue was and how amazing the service was. The food was delicious as well. Many of these people went on to say it was the best wedding they've ever been to.I couldn't recommend the Sonnenalp any more highly for your special day. Thanks again to the friendly staff who made it perfect and we are looking forward to spending time at The Sonnenalp for many years to come.

My (new)husband and I just got married- or should I say......- had the wedding of our DREAMS at the Sonnenalp in February. Vail has always been a special place for us but the staff at the Sonnenalp went above and beyond to make this night even more so. Amy Lilyquist was so incredible to work with, always patient, always offering input and feedback where needed, and the day-of she made sure everything ran smoothly. And that's saying a lot, considering my husband and I planned everything long distance from Rhode Island! Breakdown below on why, if you're looking for a fairytale wedding in the mountains, you should book the Sonnenalp now!!Venue: Honestly, that glass covered terrace is the best hall in town. Hands down screams romance any season of the year! (If you're looking for a ceremony location, there's even that too!!) Food: Absolutely incredible selection to choose from. From cocktail hour, to reception buffet, to late-night snacks for our guests, the food was absolutely amazing. Everybody was fed and very very happy. Cake: Need its own category, it's that good. They will work with you to make sure you've got that cake of your dreams. Beverages: Amy really worked with us to make sure that our food and beverage minimum was met the best way possible. For our small wedding, that allowed ample drinks for our guests that carried through from cocktail hour through a lot of the reception. Great drinks! Service: As I mentioned, Alex and I planned this entire thing long distance, yet, we never once felt like our questions didn't get answered. Every detail was covered and they even had a ton of suggested vendors to help get the planning going. The day-of, the staff took care of so many things (setting up the room as discussed, place cards, timing of events, tear down, etc). I HAVE to add that they even had a car service for us to take us, our photographer, and videographer to the gondola for some gorgeous shots (Thank you Spencer!!!!) This was the type of service we got all weekend!Accommodations: If you've never stayed at the Sonnenalp, you should know that the hotel itself is the perfect mix between rustic charm and European elegance right in the heart of town. It is truly a gorgeous and relaxing stay. Our guests really enjoyed that everything was walking distance, especially since half our guests travelled from across the country to celebrate with us. (The Vail Interfaith Chapel is right next door, Cocktail hour was held right in the Kings' Club, and the Reception smoothly followed onto the terrace).**Overall, I cannot say enough amazing things about the Sonnenalp!!!You will not regret pairing up with this amazing venue and staff to have that mountain wedding you've dreamed of.

INCREDIBLE place for a wedding. We got married in December at the Sonnenalp, and it was absolutely perfect. We worked closely with Amy Lilyquist, who was so organized, helpful, and easy to work with. She was so good that we did not need an outside wedding planner/coordinator. Our wedding vision was executed flawlessly because of Amy and the entire staff at the Sonnenalp. Aaron was also awesome in helping us choose a great wine selection for our wedding. Finally, our guests LOVED staying at the Sonnenalp for the wedding weekend. The rooms are nice, the spa is great, and the entire staff was SO accommodating and nice to be around. Highly recommend!!

My now husband and I held our wedding weekend in mid-October 2016 at The Sonnenalp Hotel in Vail. The hotel executed a flawless weekend. Not a single detail was overlooked, thanks to the astute planning of Amy Lilyquist and spot-on execution of the f&b team -- Aaron Bajorek and Derek the banquet captain.All three days of our celebration - Friday's rehearsal dinner and cocktail reception, Saturday's ceremony & wedding reception and Sunday's farewell brunch were held inside the Terrace Room, Ludwig's, Stueberl Room, King's Club and Bully Ranch. We even got lucky with the weather and held pictures outside near the pool! The food was delicious, the décor was timelessly Vail, and the ambiance was European charming. Exactly as I had desired for my wedding weekend in the Colorado Rockies.I am forever grateful to the hotel, and even Mr. Faessler for helping set tables to ensure a quick-turn from the ceremony to the reception, for delivering a fabulous celebration. Bravo!To the readers looking at The Sonnenalp, this isn't your average hotel banquet room experience. There's not another venue like the Terrace Room with it's floor-t0-ceiling windows and retractable roof to allow in the Colorado air and sunshine. If I could give 10 stars, I would. Not only was the venue amazing but the staff is really what made our wedding perfect... In addition to Amy's above and beyond efforts, her staff was attentive to guests, flexible, and always smiling. The venue itself is timeless. Beautiful bavarian decorations and natural wood cloak the entire hotel. It's gorgeous and the ceremony site by the river in the back is peaceful, surreal, and beautiful. We owe the whole day to Amy and her staff and this amazing venue.. We can't thank her enough and I HIGHLY recommend the Sonnenalp for the setting of your perfect wedding.

We recently had our wedding at the Sonnenalp Hotel in Vail, CO. The weather was amazing and the venue was even better! We had the best help from their wedding coordinator, Amy Lilyquist and all staff members paid attention to every detail so we didn't have to! Our ceremony was on the lawn by the pool, with poolside cocktail hour after and our reception was in the Grand Bavarian room below Ludwig's restaurant. We cannot say enough about how wonderful our experience with The Sonnenalp has been. Every single Sonnenalp staff member we encountered was kind, professional and accommodating. The Event Sales Manager, Amy Lilyquist is phenomenal. She is highly organized and very knowledgable when it comes to what works and what maybe doesn't work so well when putting on a nice event for a large group. She listened to our needs and made suggestions when necessary. The customer service at The Sonnenalp is unbeatable. Our guests were so happy with their accommodations and we have received multiple compliments on the beautiful venue and friendly staff. When we began looking for wedding venues, the Sonnenalp was top of mind, as I had spent many Mother's Day brunches and family weekend trips there and we always had a great experience. So, when we got the opportunity to have our wedding there, I was extremely excited. What can I say? I was blown away. Everything that the Sonnenalp promised, they delivered ten fold. We had the absolute pleasure of working with Amy Liliquist, who was extremely attentive and responsive on the months, weeks, and days leading up to the wedding and answered every question and concern I had with ease and offered up advice when I needed it. Amy is extremely detail oriented and so easy to work with, not to mention just the sweetest person. On the day of, Amy was unbelievable. I asked her to set up picture frames, escort cards, toasting flutes, and many other little details the way that I envisioned and she made the ceremony and reception look better than I could have ever asked for. Prior to the ceremony I saw Amy and the rest of the Sonnenalp team meticulously setting up the ceremony and reception areas and every single person was working hard to make the day perfect. Amy and her team are so observant that, at one point, I was told the groomsmen were talking about how chapped their lips were and one of the staff members came over and gave them chapstick. Additionally, the food and drinks were fantastic (as always) and the venue (both the ceremony lawn next to Gore Creek and Ludwig's) is unbelievably beautiful. People couldn't stop telling us how it was the best wedding they've ever been to. Honestly, I wouldn't have changed a single thing about the day and I know that I have Amy and the rest of the wonderful staff at the Sonnenalp to thank for helping to make the day more than I had dreamed of. I can't thank you enough!!

Nghi Nguyen (Manager) Nghi just relocated to Vail, Colorado and started at the Sonnenalp April 2021. She began her career in the hospitality industry at the front desk and made her way to Conference Services as a Coordinator, then as a Manager. She has extensive background in events of all sizes for groups and weddings. She is very detailed and service orientated. Nghi loves making her clients vision come true, and looks forward to meeting you!
