Sonshine Barn is the perfect wedding venue! My sister got married here 2 years prior and when I got engaged, my fiance and I started looking at other wedding venues. We kept comparing everything to our experience at Sonshine and nothing measured up. Getting to spend the entire weekend on the premises makes it more than just a one day celebration. The house was big enough for our immediate families and wedding party. We started our weekend on Thursday and had plenty of time to prepare food for our rehearsal dinner and arrange our own flowers. On Friday we hosted our rehearsal dinner fish fry at the house. Following the rehearsal dinner, we threw a welcome party for our out of town guests. We had a bonfire, played basketball, dodgeball, mini golf, and had plenty of room and different areas to socialize. It's great to have a decorating company right at the barn. Sarah collaborated with us to bring our vision to life and it was beautiful. Rachel was our day of coordinator and could not do enough for us! She helped with decorations, cut our cake, directed our ceremony, coordinated with vendors - I was so thankful to have her! She and her assistant, Nancy, made our day go so smoothly. I couldnât recommend Sonshine Barn enough!!

We had the most beautiful wedding at Sonshine Barn. The staff are all great to work with! Toree was our coordinator and she was right there for anything I needed throughout the entire weekend. She made sure everything went smoothly. The amount of amenities the facility offers truly sets the bar high for other venues. We also used their decor company and worked very closely with Veronica. Not only did she answer all of my questions, but she also made sure my wedding dreams came true. I couldnât believe how perfectly it was set up. The details her and Sara put in are amazing. I canât think of one thing I wasnât happy with. The weekend was truly amazing!

I seriously canât say enough great things about this venue! From the first tour we took we knew it was going to be awesome. Everyone we interacted with leading up to our wedding was amazing and so helpful! Toree was my wedding coordinator and she made sure the day was prefect, and she answered any questions I had leading up to the wedding. Sarah did our decorations and the barn on the day of was more then I ever hoped for! Sarah was always just a text away. The house/clubhouse is amazing for all the bridal party. All around great place! Highly recommend!!!

I cannot even begin to explain how BEAUTIFUL and AMAZING our daughters wedding was at Sonshine Barn and event center! The moment my daughter (and now son in law) entered the barn for the first tour, they knew this was the place! Sarah gave us confidence that it could be everything our daughter dreamed of for her wedding day. From the vendor suggestions, to every little detail, it honestly was perfect! We loved having the wedding party on site all weekend in the beautiful farmhouse which also allowed for a beautiful rehearsal dinner site! Tears flow thinking back to the most fun, relaxing, beautiful, and memorable weekend we could of ever asked for! We would HIGHLY recommend this venue for the most blessed day you will ever have!

This venue was absolutely breathtaking. If you love fall, barns, friendly people, and beautiful decor, this is the place for you! The barn is so elegant and you can make it your own style by renting the decor through the barn, or by bringing your own! I had a fall themed wedding with fake leaves and corn stalks and straw nails and pumpkins! The barn was perfect for my vision of a northern Michigan fall wedding! The trees in October were absolutely breathtaking! The farmhouse is incredible and accommodates people very well! This place is a must!

We got married at the Sonshine Barn on October 15th, 2022. This was truly the perfect venue for the best day of my life. The barn is absolutely gorgeous and comes with so many amenities that make the bridal experience that much better. Toree was our wedding planner and Veronica was our decorator and they were absolutely fantastic. They were always willing to answer my questions and go above and beyond to make my special day perfect. The barn is absolutely gorgeous and there are so many decoration options to cater to each and every bride. The bridal suite in the barn was such a nice touch for all of my bridesmaids and family members to get ready and spend the morning of the wedding together. We had to move our ceremony inside because of the weather and I appreciate how helpful Toree was and how easy she made the switch. The farmhouse for the bridal party to stay in is one of my favorite parts of the venue. There are tons of bedrooms with a bathroom in each bedroom. It was so much fun to stay with all of my friends and family for the whole weekend and be within walking distance of the barn. We received nothing but positive feedback from all of our guests about how gorgeous the venue was and how kind staff members were. I truly canât put into words how fantastic the Sonshine Barn is. Our wedding was perfect and I wish I could relive it over and over again! Thank you to Jessica, Toree, Veronica and Nancy and everyone at the Sonshine Barn that made our wedding day so special. You all will forever hold a special place in our hearts! If you are looking for a gorgeous barn in Northern Michigan with room for all of your friends and family to stay for the entire weekend, then this is it!

Not only is the property so beautiful, but the entire Sonshine family is so friendly and accommodating, making sure our whole weekend was perfect. Not to mention, your wedding is a whole weekend celebration. In addition to the beautiful barn for your wedding and reception, you get the clubhouse with a basketball court and putting green, and the farmhouse that slept our family and bridal party. And not only do you get all this, you get it ALL WEEKEND, Friday-Sunday with the option to add more nights if needed. We got to host our rehearsal, welcome party, wedding, and morning after brunch all on property. And just when it sounds too good to be true, they also provide you a day of coordinator (Veronica was INCREDIBLE) that will work with you the months leading up to your wedding. They own V&S Rentals who own all the beautiful decorations needed for your special day. You are able to rent everything out from them and they organize and set it all up for you. For starters Sonshine Barns is gorgeous and full of history the grounds are beautiful and landscaping is done perfectly. This venue was everything we couldâve asked for and more! We toured over 10 locations and this one ticked all of our boxes and more! Toree, the day planner went above and beyond and made sure everything was perfect for us and Sarah and Veronica, did an amazing job with the decorations in the barn. Besides being stunning, the barn gave us amazing photos, enough room for all of our guests and provided an inside and outside ceremony option. That was very beneficial for us because it was down pouring the day of the wedding (I hope it was good luck)! Out of all the barns we toured, this one really stood out to us! A little pricy, but SO WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! Our wedding was phenomenal not only for us, but for everyone that attended! The bathrooms are spacious, the bar is huge, and the dance floor is perfection. If youâre having a barn wedding and are a little bougie then this location is perfection! Sarah and her crew are amazing to work with and the location is absolutely perfect!! As soon as my then fiancĂ© and I stepped into the barn it instantly took our breath away and gave us chills. We knew that is where we wanted to become husband and wife and start our new beginning. It was a night to remember and a night we canât wait to tell all of our kids about!! I wish I could give Sonshine Barns more than 5 stars!! For starters Sonshine Barns is gorgeous and full of history the grounds are beautiful and landscaping is done perfectly. This venue was everything we couldâve asked for and more! We toured over 10 locations and this one ticked all of our boxes and more! Toree, the day planner went above and beyond and made sure everything was perfect for us and Sarah and Veronica, did an amazing job with the decorations in the barn. Honestly I could not recommend this venue enough to people. What a magical evening. A wedding at Sonshine Barn Wedding and Event Center can only be described that way, magical. For the Bride and her party, the day begins at the bridal suite and is the perfect place to get ready. It is very spacious, photogenic and comfortable. They supply plates, cups and other items to keep the focus on the wedding day. This bridal suite allowed us to have the hair and make up vendors on site. The bridal suite allows you to have a full salon experience without having to leave the venue. For the Groom and his party, there is plenty to do on site especially in the clubhouse. They have a half-court basketball court, putting green, ping-pong table and more. The clubhouse can only be described as a man cave. Although one of the bathrooms in the clubhouse was out of commission and we decided to get ready in the farm house, this would be a great place to get ready.The farm house that comes with the package is fantastic! This is the best place to stay as you are able to have your entire bridal party on the venue throughout the weekend. It is beautiful and is equip for 24 people or more if you supply the extras. We were able to have our rehearsal dinner on-site as they supply tables and chairs as well as a full kitchen and grill. In the farm house they have the perfect newlywed suite. The bathroom has a stand up shower with two shower heads and a beautiful tub for a soak after your big day. This was the best way to celebrate together as new husband and wife. We decided to rent the farm house one more night as we had Memorial Day the following Monday. This gave us some time to really soak in the venue without the distraction of entertaining others. We cannot thank our wedding coordinators enough. They have multiple and without a doubt they will all make your day stress free. Personally, Alexis and Jaclyn made sure everything was perfect. We had ideas in our heads about how we wanted decor and pictures, with their twist they helped make it even better. If there is one thing I will always remember from the wedding is nothing went wrong, or Alexis and Jaclyn handled it without us realizing. Another addition they offered is called the Corner House. This is a house that is within walking distance of the venue. In our case the brideâs parents rented this house. This gave them a great experience as they were basically on-site. If you are looking for the perfect wedding, you have to have it at Sonshine Barn Wedding and Event Center.

The property is stunning, but what really makes Sonshine barn stand out is its team of highly knowledgable and helpful professionals. I cannot imagine how much more stressful planning would have been (during a pandemic no less) without our coordinator Sarah and the Sonshine Barn crew! The Sonshine property was exactly what we hoped for- a beautiful place to host family and friends all weekend long... and that is exactly what we did!We welcomed all our guests for a BBQ dinner following our rehearsal. The lawn between the house and clubhouse was perfect for setting up tables and chairs and there was plenty of room for the food truck and buffet! Sarah also went above and beyond for our welcome dinner- clipping some flowers around the home to add to our simple centerpieces. When day turned to night, the bistro lights twinkled above us as we reminisced with friends old and new. The convenience of having everyone in one spot made our wedding day a breeze. The guys hit up Treetops early in the morning as us girls made the quick walk from the house to the bridal suite. All the while, some loved ones cooked up a full breakfast buffet in the house to bring over as we got dolled up.Our guests remarked all evening long about what a gorgeous property it was- allowing them to catch up with friends outside, take a walk around the grounds or join folks on the dancefloor. We capped off the night with a fireworks show that lit up the fields and the resulting pictures are breathtaking. The Sonshine crew also helped with the coordination between the fireworks team and the local fire department.As most brides say, the only thing I wish is that we had had more time. The day was a blur, yet not once did I have to stress about a single thing thanks to Sarah and her team. We are so grateful for the Sonshine Barn crew. From a year-long postponement to all the changes due to COVID to finally celebrating our big day, I wouldn't have wanted to do it with any other team at any other venue!

Even though it snowed the day before my wedding, Amber my wedding coordinator did such an amazing job keeping me calm. They were very accommodating and wanted to do everything to keep the bride and groom happy. Amber did an amazing job keeping me from becoming a âbridezilla.â She was always a step ahead of me and was always there with a positive attitude. Every person from the grounds crew to the wedding planners are amazing! They are kind, passionate and so much fun! They made every vision and dream of our wedding come true! The farmhouse is such a nice feature for both families to stay and celebrate at! We added a few nights stay at the farmhouse since we were having so much fun having both the Groom and Brides family together! We also rented to house across the street for some of our bridal party which was nice that they could just walk across the field! The grounds are amazing and everything is kept up and clean! Spotless! The boys loved playing basketball in the grooms suite and all of the bridesmaids comfortable fit in the bridal suit! I could not have visioned a more perfect day! Veronica was our party planner and I teared up saying goodbye to her! She and her husband were amazing! So very helpful, detail oriented and kind! Do yourself and your family a favor and book the Sonshine Barn for your wedding! You will not regret it!

My daughter Taylor and her husband Jason were married at the Sonshine Barn this past Saturday. We had toured the venue years before after a friend was married there. It was magical then, and magical last Saturday. After three date changes due to Covid their dream wedding became a reality due to the amazing vendors, but mostly our wedding planner Veronica and her husband. From the moment we met, we knew we were in good hands but the professionalism and love we felt was far above our expectations. Veronica is a pro and guided us throughout the process, from the rehearsal , through the ceremony and into the evening. She delivered bagels for the bridal suite, pizza for late night guest snacks and even brought the bride and groom snacks from their cocktail hour as she knew they were being photographed. During the ceremony as Veronica was cueing the bridal party, her husband was behind the barn door with Taylor and her dad taking pictures. They are some of our favorites! They helped clean up and were there to the very end. Veronica even returned the next morning with hugs for the bride and groom, which really warmed my heart. I cannot say enjoy about this venue. When COVID cancelled our sonâs dream wedding in 2020 (that we spent over a year planning on Gull Lake) we couldnât imagine recreating their special day with all the elements the bride and groom wanted. Sonshine Barn came through in a BIG WAY!!! We had the best family and friends weekend, in addition to a fantastic wedding and reception. If you are planning an event, I would highly recommend it. Add some extra Farmhouse nights to your plans so you can relax and enjoy all that the property has to offer. All the details that Veronica and Sarah attended to and the patience they demonstrated while we were all flurrying about is so appreciated. We miss them already!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you for making dreams come true. A very happy Mother of Groom!

Itâs hard for me to put into words how much the Sonshine family means to me and my husband but here it goesâŠSarah & and her girls worked with us tirelessly for two years through a global pandemic to turn a wedding dream into a reality so beautiful and flawless Iâm still picking my jaw off the floor days later. We wanted to create a wedding experience that lasted more than 6 hours and thatâs exactly what we had at Sonshine. The farmhouse is the most gorgeous house in northern Michigan and was a home to our entire wedding party and their plus ones for 4 daysâŠit was the most fun any of us have had since at least college but maybe even more than that ;) The day itself was so effortless on my part and, as many people have sincerely commented, was the best wedding theyâd ever been to & I know a big part of that is the constant service and organization that went on by Sonshineâs team. They are a well oiled machine with a family feel that I know will make you fall in love too â€ïž One of the first venues we visited, but quickly became the one we compared all others to and I can tell you thereâs nothing else in Michigan like the Sonshine experience - feel free to direct message me if you have any questions about this venue because I would be happy to rave about it even more

this was the most amazing venue and people we have ever met! Every guest that stepped into the barn was in awe of its beauty. I have gotten nothing but compliments from all oir family and friends, they say its the most beautiful venue they have ever been to. sarah was beyond amazing, made the wedding planning process so easy, and she made our dream wedding vision come to life! i would highly recommend to anyone! our family plans to have events here in the future. thank you Sonshine Barn for being one of a kind and true, honest, talented people. we will never forget our magical night in your barnâ€

this was the most amazing venue and people we have ever met! Every guest that stepped into the barn was in awe of its beauty. Dear Sonshine Barn Family,I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for the amazing job you did on Megan and Iâs wedding on 01 August 2020. We could not have been happier with the overall turnout. Sarah did a wonderful job with overall planning, dĂ©cor, and vendor recommendations, and Amber did an impeccable job with planning, organization, and day of coordination. The amount of detail that Amber put forth on the day of the wedding, definitely impacted the overall success of the night. To keep my group of groomsmen in line and ensure everything went flawless was no easy task, but she was able to handle it perfectly. Between the two, they made the wedding of our dreams a reality. I was very skeptical of moving the reception from inside the barn, to splitting it inside and outside, but your team made it possible to eliminate any doubt that I may have had. The safety precautions that were implemented, as well as the dual reception areas, removed any doubt that our guests health were largely taken into consideration prior to allowing us to move forward with our ceremony. The setup inside the barn, and outside in the tent, could not have been more perfect. Even though our guests were seated outside for dinner, they were not isolated from the wedding festivities due to the added bench seating inside. Once our wedding moments were captured within the barn, the party commenced in the tent and under the beautiful sky. Overall, the way your team handled the whole COVID-19 situation, constant changes, and governorsâ orders to make our day special was nothing short of exceptional. I donât know where to begin, this venue was breathtaking!! The pictures online really donât do it justice you have to see it in person to appreciate the beauty and thought put into every detail of this venue. The manicured grounds were full of photo opportunities, literally everywhere I looked I was snapping another selfie. The farmhouse was so beautiful and peaceful. It was clean and fully supplied with everything I could possibly need, it even had a game room filled with games!! But what was really impressive to me was allthe details put into the changing room for the bride and bridal party. It had everything a bride or bridesmaid could possibly need before a wedding from steamer irons to sewing kits and tape. It even had a refrigerator and champagneglassesformimosas!! After standing in the sun during the ceremony it was great being able to come into an air conditioned barn, which I have heard others donât have and are like ovens during the summer. Sarah the coordinator did an amazing job decorating. I understand you can rent supplies from her but I think paying the extra to have her decorate in my opinion was worth it. The reception looked like something out of a magazine. Jessica (manager) was quick to respond to any questions we had and made me feel at home. In fact, all the staff I meet were all so friendly and made me feel like family.

Absolutely fantastic! The staff was not only friendly but extremely professional. If we asked for changes they were more than willing to accommodate us. I would definitely recommend them in a heartbeat! They offered timely advice and assistance. It was beautiful!!!

Iâm a videographer and this is one of my favorite venues to film at! Itâs absolutely stunning! Itâs every vendors dream! The couples always have everything they need and more and the staff/owners are excellent. I love how they cater each wedding to a couplesâ unique style and always go above and beyond with caring for the couple, guests and vendors! I absolutely recommend taking a tour and checking out Sonshine Barn for your wedding or special event!

We got married at Sonshine Barn November 16th of 2019. Sonshine Barn is an amazingly beautiful venue with every amenity you could imagine. Everything about the barn, the grounds, the farm house, and the clubhouse is perfect, and itâs an amazing place to get married year round. The barn and grounds are just as gorgeous in the winter months. I am obsessed with our outdoor photos in the field with snow and the sunset behind us. The farm house is AMAZING, especially for a couple who has a large family and or bridal party, it is so convenient and cozy and available to you the entire weekend. The barn is equipped for indoor ceremony and reception even for a large wedding! Which is great, because regardless of time of year, or Mother Nature, you are guaranteed a beautiful atmosphere for a ceremony. I was nervous about our large guest count around 200 fitting for our indoor ceremony, but it worked out great! We couldnât have dreamed of a more beautiful wedding.

There isn't a single minute detail that goes overlooked. The farmhouse is immaculate as is the clubhouse and of course, the barn. Sarah, who did our decor is wonderful. We just got married yesterday! My husband and I keep saying how perfect our weekend was and we wouldn't have changed anything, or for that matter, add anything. Veronica, our wedding coordinator, was amazing! She literally took care of all the small details that I didn't have time (as the bride) to think about or deal with on the day of the wedding. Months and weeks and even hours before we arrived to the Barn and Farmhouse, Veronica and I were in contact. she was quick to respond, answer my questions, and give me suggestions. We hired a local caterer, florist, a cake baker, per Veronica's suggestions, as well as a DJ whom they've worked with before, which made it really easy in terms of setup and getting the vendors situated. The farmhouse is gorgeous! Let me tell you! upon arriving, my bridal party was in awe of how amazing it was! the videos and pictures don't do it justice. We literally used every inch of that space with my bridal party and family. bathrooms to every bedroom. the bonfire pit, ping pong table, half-court basketball court, and putting green were a huge hit on Friday night. The Barn- OMGoodness. Every guest said it was the most beautiful space/wedding they've ever been to! the bridal suite was perfect for our makeup artist and hair stylists to work they're magic, and the feel of that room is comfortable and shabby chic.we got really lucky with weather and Fall colors in the foliage. the fields around the farmhouse turned dry and wheat-like, (which I was not expecting), which made for the perfect foreground and the colorful trees as a backdrop for our portraits.The owners didn't miss a beat on the design and upgrades of this place! You will not regret this place as your Wedding Venue!! do it!

My family was able to rent the house next door which was incredibly convenient. The staff of the Barn was so wonderful to work with as well. Wow. This venue has it all and more. Everyone of our guests said it is the most spectacular and elegant barn venue they have been to. They really thought of every last detail to the bridal suite, the farmhouse, the clubhouse, the bathrooms... everything is perfect. We stayed at the venue ALL weekend, starting with Friday nightâs rehearsal dinner and welcoming party. Our entire wedding party stayed on site (we also rented the Airbnb) and it was SO much fun to be together. The farmhouse is HUGE and has everything you could possibly need! We worked with Veronica and she was literally AMAZING. She did EVERYTHING - she was super woman! She decorated, made sure everything ran smoothly and even dismissed tables during the reception because the caterer did not send enough staff members. I could not have asked for a better place to have our wedding at and I will forever recommend this place to anyone who is looking for the most perfect and unique venue in beautiful northern Michigan!â€ïžThank you Jessica, Veronica and the rest of the Sonshine Barn team for an unforgettable experience!

We loved EVERYTHING about Sonshine Barn. For starters, we were blessed to have Sarah as our wedding coordinator. Sarah is an absolute ANGEL. She was there to answer questions & help us with our wedding plans every step of the way. She made sure our day went smoothly & according to plan. Sarah used our vision & helped us create the wedding of our dreams. I couldn't imagine our day without all of her hard work, dedication & help. It did not go unnoticed, that is for sure! The venue itself is absolutely amazing, just breathtaking. I can't tell you how many people approached us throughout the night telling us that it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to. ...and it's not just the barn. The property surrounding the barn, Farmhouse, Clubhouse, it's honestly surreal. My family stayed in the Farmhouse & it accommodated all of us perfectly. The Clubhouse was such a fun place for the guys to hang out & get ready. We made sure to take advantage of the basketball court, pool table & putting green too! So much fun! :) We used the deck & outdoor spaces for our rehearsal dinner & welcome drinks. It was such a great space for everyone to gather & socialize. The kids loved the play area too! Amazing. Like truly amazing. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a magical day! The grounds are just gorgeous and my wedding party was overjoyed to stay in the farmhouse. It was so nice having everything in one place. The barn is just beautiful! And they decorate exactly how you want. Thereâs also tons of decorations to rent which is a huge plus! The staff are absolutely the best! Like, THE BEST. They are so helpful and on the day of took care of everything so all I had to do was go where they told me. A billion star review! I wish I could redo the whole day all over again exactly as it was. <3

Really an amazing experience hands down. This place was PERFECT for my wife and I, and we knew it from the second we arrived on the property. It is truly a unique experience - you get the entire property for your event, which includes an amazing remodeled farm house and a 'game room' with indoor basketball court. The staff was really great, and Veronica, our event coordinator made sure things went well and took care of everything on the spot - she really became a friend as well. We LOVE this place and plan to be back again for future events. Thanks to the team at Sonshine Barn for making our wedding such a special time for us!!!

Sonshine Barn was absolutely amazing! Rustic with a touch of modern decor. I was in awe when I saw my venue! Veronica was my wedding planner and she did an amazing job. It was difficult since I lived 3 hours away, but Veronica replied so fast to all of my messages that I felt included in all the planning. The Farmhouse was jaw-dropping beautiful! It felt like I was in one of those HGTV houses. The playground, indoor basketball/volleyball court, pool table and mini putt putt course kept all of my little guests busy! All of the parents were able to enjoy the wedding and mingle with other people. Even they enjoyed the night away and kept telling me how great the venue was. I am so glad that I chose Sonshine Barn for my wedding. I wouldn't have had it any other way and I definitely recommend it to any future brides!

Sonshine barn as well as other aspects of the venue were extremely accommodating. There were several comments made by guests that the reception was decorated beautifully and one of the prettiest weddings they had ever attended. Can not say enough great things about the venue. The reason this was rated 3 stars was due to the wedding planner/staff. As a person she was approachable but extremely unprofessional at different times. Shortly after dinner was complete and people were up mingling, she began to clear off tables as well as the table decorations. Guest were approaching family members and inquiring if they needed to leave because they felt like they were not welcomed to return to their tables. People would set drinks down and go off to dance, mingle, etc and she was going around picking up drinks and dumping them out. The bartenders approached family and informed them that she was going through three times the amount of cups that she should be going through due to drinks and cups being thrown away. Several members of the wedding party as well as guest felt as if she was wanting to have the party be over quickly. There were several guests that left around 9-9:30 that shared they would have stayed longer but felt like they needed to leave. We felt as though our actions were being micro-managed. Advice in the future is to allow your guests to have their day for the entire duration of the rental agreement. I do not think clean up should happen until after the bride's special day and never should guests feel like they need to leave a wedding because the staff members feel it is important to clean during one of the biggest days of the bride and grooms life. The goal of the staff/planner should be to make the ENTIRE day and night flow beautifully; making everyone feel welcome and special. There is always time for clean up after the reception wraps up. The bride, groom and family should leave that evening with a smile and hearts full of happiness. This should not be tainted because of staff micro-managing or cleaning while the event is still occuring.

I got married on 9/8/18 and we would choose Sonshine Barn 1,000 times over!!! This is a family owned business, and the Freemans treated us as friends rather than customers. They have thought of every detail to ensure you'll have the weekend of a lifetime - The venue comes with a beautiful farm house (accommodations for family or bridal party for the weekend), a club house with an indoor basketball court/ping pong/billiards, a bridal salon attached to the barn, and a wedding coordinator to help with planning and day-of logistics. We also hosted our rehearsal dinner on the property. The barn is stunning, but the staff, service and use of the property for the full weekend really make your wedding more than a one-day celebration. Any bride will tell you your wedding day flies by, so this is a way to extend the quality time and memories. It is SO worth every penny, and with the coordinator, Farm House, and use of the property for rehearsal, it turns out to be more cost-effective than other venues. Cannot recommend Sonshine barn enough.

This venue is absolutely amazing! We could not have asked for better venue to have our wedding! We loved everything about it! The farmhouse and clubhouse were so convenient, our guests loved the barn and we got multiple compliments saying it was the best wedding they had ever been to! Of course, we could not have done it all if it had not been for Veronica! She went above and beyond to make the weekend exactly what we wanted and we are so grateful for her! I would recommend this venue 1000% of the time!

Sonshine Barn was the most perfect venue for our wedding. It was an absolute dream. From start to finish everyone, and I mean everyone, was extremely easy to work with and gave me the confidence the day would run smoothly. The venue itself is beautiful and makes for a perfect weekend wedding with the guesthouse included. Everyone was complimenting how gorgeous it was and how perfect the barn was for our wedding. The barn has an option for them to decorate the barn and I would highly recommend it. They have everything you could ever need and they do an awesome job at decorating the barn. They know exactly what they are doing to make it personalized for you. You are also given a wedding planner that will help you through everything from start to finish. They make planning the wedding a breeze. If you have any questions or concerns they are there with answers quickly. When it came time for the wedding, they continued to tell me to not worry about a thing, they got this. And they sure did! I got to enjoy the entire day because I know they would handle everything to make my day perfect. I would give Sonshine Barn more stars if that was possible because it was absolutely perfect. I would highly recommend this for your dream wedding!!

For an event venue Sonshine Barn is absolutely stunning! The layout of the property is wonderful for a family gathering and celebration from the farm house that slept both families and our bridal party, the clubhouse was great for the guys to have fun through the weekend and to get ready and of course the barn and bridal prep suit was over the top fantastic!All of our guests were blows away by the beauty of the property and grounds are very well taken care of.As for our designated day of coordinater Veronica, she was nice but was poor at taking notes and remembering items discussed in the few planning meetings we had and on the day of the wedding there was alot of poor communication. She was helpful for setting up some of our decorations and a small list of tasks I had given her but did complain to several of my family members and bridal party.On the day of the wedding there was rain in the forecast but we were never given a cut off time of when we needed to decide whether our the ceremony was outside or inside. It was extremely frusterating to be told the day of my wedding that we had to decide by 12pm for my 4pm ceremony. Since there was a chance for rain on the radar we were forced to choose indoor... as a bride you always wish for an outdoor ceremony. My bridal party could visibly tell I was upset and went to speak to Veronica about a later decision time maybe 2 hours before the ceremony and she continued to argue and show a radar on her phone to anyone she spoke to saying she wouldn't have staff to set up the chairs if she waited any later than noon. She was very rude and was not trying to make our wedding day dreams come true. After an hour or so of arguing, we were told they had no staff to set up our chairs. Our groomsmen and dads had to set up the wedding ceremony chairs!!! Absolutely unacceptable. The rain passed just like the the radar showed us and the ceremony was beautiful just like we had wished.After the ceremony and the guests had cleared into the barn for cocktail hour, Veronica then proceeded to ask my brothers and other wedding party members to then pick up the chairs AGAIN! She told them \" I dont have staff to pick up the chairs and I dont want to do it\". Thankfully, my brothers knew they needed to be available for family photos at that moment like any other normal wedding and told Veronica no at that point. There was then a point where an announcement was made and guest had to pick up their own chairs- very embarrassing for a bride and groom. My mom took a picture of this happening :(If you work in the hospitality industry, especially weddings, you should do anything you can to make the bride and grooms wedding day wishes come true! Yes there are limits and certain points where you have to say no or tell them you can't make something happen, but some as simple as setting a rain plan and having staff to sit up ceremony chairs should not be an issue. Unfortunately these are the negative things I remember from my wedding day, and have heard from several family members that Veronica was not pleasant to work with. I apologized for her actions and the way she spoke but tried to blow it off and remember the beautiful day it really was. Over all I would suggest this venue but be aware of who your planner is and make sure you take alot of notes about what has been promised to you through out the planning process.

Our son and daughter in law chose Sonshine Barn for their May 2018 wedding. The first time we drove onto the property for our initial viewing, we knew this was the perfect venue. Veronica was our wedding planner and she was amazing from start to finish! Sonshine barn has thought of everything - a beautiful house for the bridal family, a clubhouse for the groomsmen, there is an air bnb on the property that we rented for the grooms family, and the elegant bridal party suite complete with hair salon is nothing short of amazing! They also have a wonderful variety of decorations you can rent so you do not have to purchase & haul your own with you. A LOT of thought and love has been put into this venue. You will definitely be happy with your choice of Sonshine Barn!

Sonshine barn has thought of everything - a beautiful house for the bridal family, a clubhouse for the groomsmen, there is an air bnb on the property that we rented for the grooms family, and the elegant bridal party suite complete with hair salon is nothing short of amazing! They also have a wonderful variety of decorations you can rent so you do not have to purchase & haul your own with you. A LOT of thought and love has been put into this venue. You will definitely be happy with your choice of Sonshine Barn!

This venue is absolutely gorgeous! The pictures on the website are beautiful, but truly seeing the space in-person is breathtaking and we received endless compliments from guests! Lori was our wedding planner (included in the venue package) and made the entire process including the day of our wedding seamless. My mom loved it too because she was able to relax on our wedding day knowing that Lori was on it! Sarah was also an amazing help throughout the process!!! One of the many things we loved about this venue was that their partner company allows you to rent anything you could ever want as far as wedding decor goes at a fraction of the price it would be to buy it new. The options are all Pinterest worthy. :) The farmhouse is the perfect spot for the wedding party to stay and make it a weekend celebration. It is amazing how they laid out the space with so many sleeping areas and bathrooms. The clubhouse is also included. We had volleyball tournaments going on the indoor court. :)I can't recommend this place enough. It was so perfect for our special day! We are very thankful for the Sonshine Barn team!!

I was married on June 30th, the weather was crazy hot and Veronica went out of her way to make sure we had cute umbrellas for the guests to shade themselves from the sun and had enough water. Veronica made the entire experience a breeze! She helped me bring all of my wedding dreams to life! The farm house is absolutely beautiful and all of our guests were in awe! I originally booked with a different barn for my wedding venue. Few months later, they double booked us and everything spiraled down hill. Then I broadened my search area to northern Michigan and found this BREATHTAKING barn and staff. After stalking photos online and one visit I booked with Sonshine immediately. From that day on Sarah Freeman (my designated planner and absolute angel) and the Sonshine Barn staff made wedding planning easier. The barn itself is stunning, but the farmhouse and amenities that come included in the package is the best you will find anywhere! The farmhouse was the best bonus of all. It was a place where my friends and family could hang out in the days prior to the wedding and finish the weekend off with a celebratory brunch. I could not imagine my wedding anywhere else. Once again, I cannot put into words the gratitude I have for this beautiful venue and staff and I will recommend this barn to every bride!!

I originally booked with a different barn for my wedding venue. Few months later, they double booked us and everything spiraled down hill. Then I broadened my search area to northern Michigan and found this BREATHTAKING barn and staff. After stalking photos online and one visit I booked with Sonshine immediately. From that day on Sarah Freeman (my designated planner and absolute angel) and the Sonshine Barn staff made wedding planning easier. The barn itself is stunning, but the farmhouse and amenities that come included in the package is the best you will find anywhere! The farmhouse was the best bonus of all. We hosted my brother and sister-in-lawâs wedding are Sonshine in June and it could not have been more wonderful. Our wedding coordinator, Sarah, went above and beyond to make sure their day was perfect. We spent the weekend in the farmhouse, hosted the rehearsal dinner on the deck/putting green, and the wedding party got ready right on site. The bridal suite is incredible and perfect for the bride and her maids to hang out before the ceremony. The groom and his groomsmen spent the morning in the clubhouse playing pool and lounging. It was an incredible experience. I only wish the barn would have been open for my own wedding five years ago!

It truly is THE most beautiful wedding venue! The wedding planning we were assigned (comes along with the venue!) helped our big day run perfectly. The farmhouse is a perfect location to have your rehearsal dinner, and it slept our whole wedding party and more!! We could not have asked for a better place to host our special day! Sonshine Barn staff, especially Veronica, worked so hard to make sure everything looked beautiful and ran smoothly. We were very thankful for the beautiful farmhouse that accommodated out-of-town family and friends- you just don't find that anywhere else! Not only did we have a perfect wedding day, we were able to enjoy a whole weekend celebrating and spending time with good friends and family in a relaxing environment.

Our wedding was a blast! Sonshine barn is so beautiful and has so many great facilities to make your wedding weekend lots of fun. You don't even need much decorations since the barn alone is so beautiful. The farm house is beautifully done, and all the kids loved hanging out in the club house playing basketball. The girls at the barn are easy going and very nice and ready to help. They also have rentals which make it easy if you don't have something you need the day of. We were so pleased with all of it! We would recommend it to anyone! Sommer, one of the managers daughter and owner's granddaughter, came to the salon bridal suite in the barn and did all of our hair, which looked great! Just another nice perk about the venue. They try to make it as easy as possible on you. Would choose them again in a heart beat.

Sonshine Barn Wedding and Event Center made our daughter's wedding everything she could have wanted and more. From the moment we initiated our meetings with Veronica, our wedding planner, to the moment we left the venue the day after the ceremony and reception we could not have asked for a more seamless and stress-free celebration. The barn lends itself to either a rustic, true barn-like event or a more elegant affair, as our daughter decided to have. The ability to rent an array of decorative items and have them at your immediate disposal makes for such an easy day of before the ceremony preparations. The recently renovated farmhouse, beyond being incredibly beautiful, is the perfect place for family and friends to stay for the weekend and be literally steps away from the wedding site. It is also an excellent site for the rehearsal dinner as the gourmet kitchen would allow you to create your own dinner or you may cater the meal from local restaurants. The relationship between the venue coordinators and the local caterers provides the bride and groom with little to no concern about the food and drink for the reception. They handle everything without a hiccup. The amenities, including the beautiful (and air-conditioned) bridal suite is the perfect oasis for the bridal party to prepare for the big event in true comfort. And the gentlemen's quarters are just as perfect for their needs. The grounds of the venue are the perfect backdrop for not only an outdoor ceremony, but also an indoor, if that is the choice of the couple. And the vistas for the after the ceremony photos could not be any better. I cannot imagine another venue in Northern Michigan that could provide the bride and groom, their family and friends with anything better. We truly feel blessed to have had the opportunity to celebrate our daughter and son-in-law's joyous wedding at Sonshine Barn and Event Center.

It has been a few weeks since our daughterâs wedding June 3, 2017 and we would not change a thing about Maggie and Nickâs special day here. We were very lucky to have had Sara & Tim Freeman and Lori reach out to help after our original venue canceled seven days before their wedding. Sara, Tim and Lori made it seamless, as if this had been planned all along. The beauty of the venue and its surrounding countryside was relaxing as well as fun for the wedding party and family. Not only was the wedding here but the kids chose to have the rehearsal dinner at the grooms cottage. BJâs Restaurant catered both events and the food was outstanding. Because Sara and Tim were so warm and inviting to our family and guests, it made a group of 150 people feel like they were at home. The pictures do not convey how incredible the barn truly is. The first thing you notice is the expanse of gleaming original flooring. There are beautiful guest bathrooms, a balcony with additional seating, huge dance floor, large deck, a bridal suite with salon chairs, bathroom, and mini kitchen. The grooms cottage was the perfect place for the guys to hang out complete with a basketball court, pool table, putting green, kitchen and showers. The weather cooperated and we had church pews set up on the lawn for the ceremony. The Freemans and their staff were incredible; we know they made it look much easier than it was given they only had a couple of days to work with our wedding. We have received so many compliments from people who loved the location and setting with many saying it was their favorite wedding ever. It was a pleasure and a blessing to have our daughterâs wedding at this venue. They were truly wonderful to our family and guests. We could not have asked for more.
