South Shore Event Center is a wedding and event space situated in Howard Lake, MN. Built in 1904, we proudly served as Howard Lake's City Hall for the next 100 years. We are listed on the National Register of Historic Places and are happy to host your spectacular events. Anchoring beautiful downtown Howard Lake on Highway 12, only 35 miles from the Minneapolis Metro and 16 miles from our Wright County seat of Buffalo. This 5,000-square-foot space overlooks downtown and the South shores of Howard Lake, with room for up to 225 guests. Beautifully restored in 2019, this offers a spacious location to hold an indoor cocktail and dinner reception. It also provides pre-function and outdoor patio areas for guests to enjoy and elevator access to the event center. You can invite outside catering companies to serve food onsite, where a fully-stocked kitchen awaits for their convenience. You are welcome to throw the celebration of your dreams in our exclusive venue. The South Shore Event Center was the perfect event center for our wedding reception! We got married a few weeks prior and wanted a local place where our family could come to celebrate us! The staff were super nice and supportive with all the wishes I had. They truly made our reception a reality!

Myra and her staff were wonderful to work with. She answered all our questions in a timely manner and the contract was very straight forward. The venue is on the second floor of the building and is beautiful, lots of windows for natual lighting as well as a space for ceremony/DJ/dance floor. They were helpful with finding vendors for dinner/music and the staff at the bar was very friendly.

My team and I use South Shore Event Center roughly 50 times a year for corporate events, trainings, and meetings. Myra and her team are exceptional. No matter the need Myra is there to answer questions and solve any problems swiftly and effectively. The room is great. Beautiful high ceilings, a large TV, and new I.T. equipment to hook in to. Highly recommend!

Myra Laway (Events Director) Myra, a very proud Howard Lake native, 2023 Aquatennial Volunteer Commodore recipient and the 2022 Good Neighbor Days Community Achievement Award winner is currently in her 21st year with the City of Howard Lake and at the Howard Lake Wine & Spirits. Manager since 2010, she is known as the \"Smile of Howard Lake\" and with that you know what kind of exceptional service to expect, the BEST! She loves her team of amazing staff, and strives to make sure all is perfect for your special day.
