Entrench yourself in the magic of New Orleans, LA, at the Southern Oaks wedding venue. The location exudes old-world glamour and class, with its manicured lawns, ancient oak trees, and classically Southern architecture. Couples will be transported back in time at this uniquely charming venue. Initially built in 1965 as a private residence, Bobby and Sue Asaro bought the dilapidated property and transformed it into the magnificent wedding destination it is today. With space for up to 400 guests, couples will have access to the entire Southern Oaks estate on their wedding day. Their grand entrance is a favorite for ceremonies. Situated outside on the grass, guests can watch the soon-to-be-weds recite their vows on the front porch, framed by elegant white pillars and the estate's delightful, coral facade. For a more intimate affair, couples can gather their loved ones under the property's picturesque oak trees, and say "I do" amidst the hanging leaves. Soft lighting from the glimmering candles and crystal chandeliers mesh with the neutral linens and Chiavari chairs in the ballroom for a sophisticated reception. The large wall of windows makes the space feel open and breathable, both day and night. The award-winning Southern Oaks venue credits their success to the intense focus they have on great food and unmatched customer service. Their all-inclusive package has been designed to ensure that each couple's needs are met, and their professional event coordination will make planning the wedding a breeze. An open bar serving a wide variety of drinks, and the gourmet catering staff's menu of over 80 items, will keep your guests well-nourished and happy. A personalized music setlist from their DJ can bring the whole evening together. For something extra special, the venue's list of enhancements is sure to wow your guests. My husband & I were married at Southern Oaks last month. I can't even begin to describe how incredible our experience was! They are the kindest, most generous people that I've met. From the moment we chose them to the minute that our wedding was over, they were attentive, thoughtful & unbelievably professional.The owners, Bobby & Sue & their daughter Stacey are just the sweetest people! They genuinely wanted our day to be the best it could be & they made sure it was exactly that! Our coordinator, Lauren, was just the very best! Emma was at my side for every moment, ensuring that I was happy & enjoying our day....Lauren & Emma both made the evening flawless for us. And Maxwell was fantastic! If you get the opportunity to work with any of these three, you are guaranteed to have a phenomenal wedding.Pictures do not do this beautiful place justice & I do have to say, we had an evening wedding & I would highly recommend that. It was stunning! The food was perfect...our guests were blown away with how amazing it all was.If you are considering Southern Oaks for your wedding, you will not be disappointed! What a wonderful way to start our married life. We are forever grateful to all of them for making our night so special & for welcoming a bunch of crazy Canadians to New Orleans!

My husband & I were married at Southern Oaks last month. I can't even begin to describe how incredible our experience was! They are the kindest, most generous people that I've met. From the moment we chose them to the minute that our wedding was over, they were attentive, thoughtful & unbelievably professional.The owners, Bobby & Sue & their daughter Stacey are just the sweetest people! They genuinely wanted our day to be the best it could be & they made sure it was exactly that! Our coordinator, Lauren, was just the very best! Emma was at my side for every moment, ensuring that I was happy & enjoying our day....Lauren & Emma both made the evening flawless for us. And Maxwell was fantastic! WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN!?!? Multiply your highest expectations x 10 and that is the level of service you will get at Southern Oaks!! I would give a 10 out of 5 stars if I could! I recently had our wedding there (Oct 12th, 2018) and we have literally been SHOWERED with compliments and guests telling us it is BY FAR the best wedding they have ever been to! Over and over again!! From the ceremony, the “surprises,” to THE FOOD, the bar service, the wait staff, the restrooms (yes the amazing women’s restroom), the grounds, the indoor and outdoor reception spaces, and just the general catering to each individual guest… Seriously, do yourself a favor and STOP searching for venues – you will not find a better place or experience! This crew is a well-oiled machine and seamlessly run your entire night! Bobby, Lauren, Cailee, Stacey and Emma took care of me from the time of booking to over a year later at the wedding! Always attentive and responsive – they can incorporate any special detail you would like added and more! I need to give a special thank you to Bobby – you went above and beyond for me and made our day so so extra special! I am sitting here tearing up thinking about how perfect everything was and it was all because of you sir!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart Bobby & staff! It is truly a day we will never forget!

When my now husband and I went to view the venue we were immediately impressed with the beauty and whimsical setting. I am a lover of fairytales at heart so this was the idillic venue complete with a horse drawn carriage, fireworks, and a tree swing. The staff was excellent at answers emails throughout the process and the planning booklet they provide was incredibly detailed and helpful. Mr Bobby certainly knows how to run the show when it comes to weddings. I appreciate his Disney approach and attention to detail. We were so touched to see him at our wedding to make sure everything went smoothly and to create some magical surprises. 10 out of 10 recommend Southern Oaks for a dream wedding. There are venues that you can have a wedding at... and then there are venues that are made for having weddings. Southern Oaks is one of these places!!! Every dream I ever had of having a fairytale wedding came true with booking this venue. People kept asking me if I was nervous before our ceremony, and the answer was always \"No\" because I had nothing to worry about with the fantastically organized and brilliant team that took care of us from the moment we stepped out of our shuttle to stepping into our car after our grand exit. All of the little details that creep up on you getting closer to the big day at other venues- like when should such-and-such happen, who's going to tell such-and-such to do this and this exact moment, etc. all dissolved from my mind with Southern Oaks because they don't have just 1 person there to help you, but an entire team to make sure your night is everything you dreamed of! I would book this gorgeous venue 1000x over, pictures just do not capture the fairytale you step into on the most magical day of your life! Ps. Lauren is absolutely wonderful!

Overall excellent experience that my guests rave about. We did have some issues in communication on the day of regarding music selection and items but it was still really beautiful. We did start 15 mins late because my flowers were accidentally left at the hotel, which led to everything else sort of being rushed so keep that in mind brides that things here run on time. Nevertheless, food was delicious, space is beautiful and the amenities you receive can’t be beat.

I don't know how to find the right words to adequately explain how magical your wedding will be with Southern Oaks. From your very first visit through your special night, they make everything feel like a dream. The food, the enhancements, the special touches they went the extra mile on...It was overwhelming. When our night was finally coming to a close, we were sad to leave because we knew we were going to miss the team. Everyone at our wedding raved about the food and the venue and how it was the best wedding they had ever been to. Thank you so much Mr. Bobby, Lauren Burgess and the entire family at Southern Oaks!!

Southern Oaks definitely met all of our expectations for both our ceremony and reception. I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful venue or a more professional crew. They accommodated almost every request we made from start to finish. The food was AMAZING! Everything was so good and all of our guests mentioned how full they were and how good everything was. The DJ kept people on the dance floor all night! It was the first wedding reception I had been to where the dance floor was always full. We had so much fun and our guests had fun too. It was not your typical boring reception by any means. The staff executed everything so well and made everything stress free. We live in GA and were coordinating everything from out of state, but they took care of everything. Also a very special shout out to Dylan (one of the staff)!! Everyone knew his name lol and he was the life of the party! Such a memorable part of our reception. If you’re even thinking about booking Southern Oaks just do it! You won’t be disappointed!

I'm originally from Louisiana, but my now husband and I live in Virginia - so most of our planning was done remotely. Emma was everything! Any questions or requests we had for her were met with such professionalism and kindness (two things that can be hard to come by in the wedding planning process). The food was amazing. Signature drinks were executed perfectly. Ceremony, amazing. Special surprise, AMAZING! Our only qualm was the DJ. We didn't get to choose the DJ and he wasn't quite able to capture the vibe we wanted our guests to have. We were a little disappointed about this, but on a very long list of positives, the one negative was a drop in the bucket for the overall experience. Mr. Bobby is a gem and made the experience that much more perfect. You can tell he and the staff truly love what they do - and you're gonna love it too! He even texted us a few pics he snapped with a super sweet message. 3 weeks later and our guests are still raving that it is the best wedding they've ever attended! Wish we could relive this day over and over again. To sum it all up into one word -MAGICAL!!

Hands down the best! People told me all night my wedding ceremony was out of a movie! We added on Cafe Du Monde, a second line, fireworks, the rolls Royce and and extra hour. My parents could not have been better cared for and my fiancé and I were not stressed at all. Truly they are the best you can get in New Orleans and I wish I could do it again.

We honestly have nothing bad to say about Southern Oaks. Throughout the entire process they were so amazing and accommodating. For the wedding, it was honestly the most well run and magical ceremony we had ever seen. All of our guests were so impressed with how beautiful the venue is. All of our guests agreed that it was the best food and service they have ever had at a wedding and we completely agree. Lauren and our attendants took care of every single one of our wants or needs and we felt so spoiled the whole time. I highly suggest southern oaks for any bride. They made everything so easy for me being an out of town bride, I didn’t even need a planner.

I just can not say enough good things about this venue, it’s owners, and every employee we met! My daughter had her dream wedding and reception here that was absolutely perfect in every way! They just made it look and feel effortless! From the moment we arrived for the ceremony, Bobby made sure that everyone felt comfortable, calm, and welcome as did every one of the people working there. And then we were guided right through the steps and treated like royalty! They were so attentive to our every need! The horses and carriage, fireworks, fountain, and twinkling lights in the old oak trees made for the perfect southern wedding! What a beautiful starry ceremony under the oaks! The best part was like I said before, effortless! Everything was included. Premium open bar, delicious food (which everyone was raving about), and happy, smiling, and attentive service. We all would do it all over again and again…..which is why my daughter chose this place! We had all been to weddings and receptions here over the past 30 years. It was her dream wedding spot that she had wanted and then chosen over all the other places in New Orleans! Definitely the right pick!!!

Can’t put into words how absolutely amazing Southern Oaks is. They are quick to respond, and awesome recommendations and ideas to make your wedding day special. They made margarita popsicles for our guest, specialty cocktail, we got the taco and beignet truck. We did the jazz band and Southern Oaks surprised us with fireworks, steamers, and escorted me to the ceremony in a vintage car! We had constant wedding day coordinators looking out for us, getting drinks and food for us while we socialized with all our friends. They run the whole wedding day flawlessly! I hope everyone is lucky enough to meet with Emma and Bobby! Southern Oaks also let me create my own playlist for the wedding and set up all the decorations without hassle. Truly such a magical place and cannot recommend them enough!

The venue is absolutely stunning inside and out.  My ceremony was unique and I felt like the main star in a movie production. Mr. Bobby, his family and entire staff went above and beyond for not only me, but for my bridal party, my family, all of my guests and my other vendors (photographers, videographers etc). During my wedding ceremony and reception I did not have to worry about a single thing. I was able to truly enjoy myself knowing that Mr. Bobby and his amazing staff took care of every single detail, all the way down to helping pack up my belongings and gifts. All of my guests continue to rave about the hospitality they were shown and how fun/lively the staff, servers and bartenders were. They also continue to rave about the amazing food and deserts that were served. You can not beat the cuisine at Southern Oaks and the food just keeps on coming! The DJ at Southern Oaks really got the party started and kept the party going. Having all of my friends and family on the dance floor with me meant the world to me. I am forever grateful to Mr. Bobby, his family and the entire Southern Oaks’ staff. My husband and I were adamant that we did NOT want a wedding, but we got talked into it and visited Southern Oaks while we were living in New Orleans temporarily fall of 2020. It was the first and last venue we visited after seeing how gorgeous it was and learning how they basically take are of everything for you so I didn't have to worry much about planning. The all inclusive pricing was beyond fair (especially when we were living in NY before moving to NOLA) and we loved the cocktail style party instead of the seated dinner wedding vibes. I cannot thank Lauren enough for being an absolute angel for 1.5 years of back and forth emails and working with us on everything to make this as simple/chill of a wedding possible since she knew we didn't want the wedding. Everything about this venue is perfect and they seriously make everything easy for everyone involved during the ceremony. I am the most stressful/anxious person you will ever meet and I was the calmest I've ever been during the rehearsal/ceremony because I knew that they have perfected weddings and they wouldn't let anything go wrong. Everyone said the ceremony was like something out of a movie and the reception was so fun/the backyard was the place to hangout since it's so stunning with the lighting and the weather was perfection. The entire team working during our wedding was SO FUN. There were a couple guys working (Jaden and one other man I unfortunately forget his name) who were fan favorites by our guests. Caleb and Emma were INCREDIBLE with making sure our parents had everything they needed along with my husband and me. I never had to go to the bar once because they were always there with Prosecco and water for us. Our parents were treated so well and were so happy with the team. I need to thank Lauren again for making my life so easy and also with helping my officiant getting everything ready for the ceremony. Also thank you Stacy for your help while Lauren was on maternity leave. Mr. Bobby is the absolute man and is involved with making sure every couple is happy with their experience. I never ever ever wanted a wedding but I don't have a single regret about having one here. My husband and I had SO much fun and wish we could do it all over again. One last thing - the Rolls Royce is a SICK way to enter your ceremony. Book this venue and you will do yourself such a favor and your guests will never forget it.

Southern Oaks is a 5 star operation. From booking, to planning, to the big day, and follow up after, the team at Southern Oaks was outstanding. Owner Bobby personally called me after we got home to say thank you and talk more about our wedding. His #2 Lauren is wedding coordinator extraordinaire, she also is the commander on the big day! She drove her team to execute each component flawlessly throughout our reception and ceremony. They make things perfect and stay out of your way so you can enjoy the night. Having a personal attendant assigned to me was amazing because I never noticed them but my drink was also never empty and I didn’t even have to ask! For the first time in my life, I attended a wedding and didn’t visit the bar once!!! The lighting installed outside at the venue was magical at night. The food was delicious, abundant, and received many compliments from our guests. For enhancements we added: silver cloud limo, second line band, fireworks, drago’s oyster truck, and Mardi Gras parade. I’d recommend all of them because they added a lot to the experience for us and for our guests. Tbh the fireworks were the element that truly made it over the top!!! (which is what we were going for)New Orleans: we decided to do a destination wedding because we live out west in Montana and our family is from all over (especially the Midwest). My wife and I have always loved NOLA, and we have been there many times. Once we selected NOLA, Southern Oaks came up to the top of our list for venues. We traveled down to tour the venue and for comparison we found two other venues to tour as well: The Jax & Elms Mansion. We saw those first and they were both phenomenal, but they just weren’t what we wanted. When we met with Lauren and drank champagne as we toured the property envisioning our big night there, we knew it was an easy decision. When our date was available we didn’t hesitate to book Southern Oaks and you should book them too!Most of our guests and family’s hadn’t been to NOLA before. We have heard rave reviews about the event at Southern Oaks but also the long weekend in the big easy. To say people had fun, was the understatement of the year. Many of my cousins took my mom to the side at the wedding and said “I’m just glad that I’m already married, so I don’t have to try to follow this!!!” They loved the food, culture, music, and vibes. October weather in NOLA is fab too! Pat O'Brien’s definitely got some extra business from our Irish crew on our wedding weekend!Thank you so much to Bobby, Lauren, and the entire Southern Oaks Teams. The staff is beyond incredible, super attentive, caring, and will go above and beyond to make sure this is the most perfect day for you. I have to give a special shoutout to Lauren, this girl made sure that every single detail was perfect for us and made the wedding planning experience a breeze. She genuinely cares about her guests and will do anything to make sure they’re happy. We couldn’t have been more thankful for her!The venue itself is immaculate! Once you enter inside the gates, it’s like you transport into another world! From the beautiful landscaping, intimate setting, white horse drawn carriage, firework show, the AMAZING food and open bar, there isn’t one thing we could complain about or would have changed. Southern Oaks is on an entirely different level that most venues. They make what could have been the most stressful day ever for a bride, the most magical day. Choosing Southern Oaks is still by far the best decision we could have made and if we could relive this day over and over again, we would. Choosing Southern Oaks as our venue is the BEST wedding decision we made. We live out of state, so we were worried about the difficulty of planning a wedding long distance. Southern Oaks sent all of our worries out the window the second we toured. Lauren and Stacey anticipated our every need, and made planning an absolute breeze! Every time we would call and figure out something on the planning end, they would notate it in our file so I was positive it would be implemented on the big day. Our one on one rehearsal with Lauren was great, and we appreciated being able to walk through every detail of our event again. Working with them gave us so much peace of mind. They were able to incorporate our personal touches into their well oiled machine. Southern Oaks truly has thought of everything. They are the best of the best, and their pricing is very competitive. When we interviewed other vendors for our wedding, they all raved about how they love working with Southern Oaks because they have weddings down to a science. These vendors were absolutely right!Our wedding was logistically flawless. It rained ALL DAY, including 30 minutes before our ceremony was set to begin. We were welcomed off the bus by umbrellas and champagne. We were still able to have our ceremony outside on the front lawn right on time. I am amazed at the level of organization and coordination that they have perfected. On our wedding day we were very well taken care of by Nick, Kimona, and Maxwell. Mr. Bobby even had some surprises up his sleeve that made our night that much more magical. We added on the photo booth, brass band, and snoball stand. All 3 of these additions were an absolute hit. DJ was amazing and kept our guests dancing the entire night. The drinks were flowing, and the food was AMAZING!!! Locals and out of town guests alike were blown away by the food! Our guests are still telling us that it is the best wedding they’ve ever been to, and we couldn’t agree more.

From the moment we booked Southern Oaks, Mr Bobby and his staff were amazing and there for me at every single step and for the 2 million questions I had. We booked shortly after our engagement and I spent close to a year planning. I must have had emails going back and fourth with Lauren and Stacy weekly and my emails were always answered by the end of the day. Any bride knows how amazing that is. I planned every single detail for my wedding and Southern Oaks was right by my side helping guide me. Fast forward to the wedding day, I could not have asked for anything more. Period. From the moment we arrived and I had the dreaded dress tear, Mrs Sue and her team stopped what they were doing and sprung into action to get my hem sewed back up and send me down the isle on time. I really can not say enough amazing things about the entire team at Southern Oaks, every need we had was met immediately. From making sure my cup was never empty to sticking bobby pins in my hair to helping me change into my reception dress- they held my hand through the entire event. Now for the wedding and reception, we were lucky enough to be one of the last weddings prior to the pandemic and my family and guest STILL rave about the amazing night. From the second we stepped on the property we were treated like royalty. The grounds were perfectly manicured and flawlessly set up for our ceremony on the front steps. The lighting was perfect for an evening wedding too, this was a concern of my photographer and we were all blown away by the extreme attention to detail on the exterior lighting. The reception was nothing short of spectacular. All of my guests left fully feed and extremely happy. From the food to the drinks, everything was top notch. I had always dreamed of a classic New Orleans wedding and Southern Oaks provided that for me and exceeded my expectations at every turn. I booked Southern Oaks in January 2020. I was pretty nervous throughout the whole year as our wedding date, March 2021, was getting closer and closer due to COVID. Southern Oaks was very prompt to answer my emails and was always on call away for any questions. They did such a fantastic job guiding me through the planning process and helping ease some of my stress.Our wedding day was an event out of a fairytale movie! We met Mr. Bobby, the owner, and quickly connected over our Disney obsession. I never knew that most of their visions come from Disney. This is why they strive to have a top notch crew and it was incredible to see how smoothly and stress-free the ceremony and reception was. They were constantly checking in with us along with our parents. I've never seen a service quite like this. I am still blown away!!Our guests are still ranting and raving about the whole experience! We got married 12/6/20 and I cannot say enough GREAT things about Southern Oaks. I knew from the moment we picked this place it was the right decision. Planning a destination wedding from across the country could have been a nightmare but the staff at Southern Oaks had it all under control. First, Lauren was sooo helpful and always so kind every single time I called about an update or any question and was always very reassuring. Then, our rehearsal was with Cailee and she walked us through everything and made sure we were 100% comfortable with everything and very prepared. We were feeling a little discouraged because we didn’t have a ton of personal customization pieces but that’s the point of SOW is you really don’t need all the extras because it’s absolutely stunning as is. Now the day of was an ABSOLUTE DREAM!! From the moment we stepped off the bus, my guy Nick was ON IT! Him and Mollie were THE BEST! They were on top of it from the very beginning. We didn’t have to worry about a thing and they did all the leg work for us! It rained the night of our wedding and Mr Bobby was so reassuring that we would be able to have our fairytale wedding and that’s exactly what it was. My guest were blown away by their experience as was I. They all said it was the most elegant and beautiful wedding they have ever been apart of it! Do not second guess your decision on getting married here JUST DO IT!

Southern Oaks gave me the breathtaking New Orleans wedding I’ve been dreaming of for years. The day of my wedding could not have been more perfect. The staff made sure everything went super smooth and we always had a drink in our hands. The food was absolutely AMAZING. Our guests are still talking about it months later. The DJ was also great and helped our wedding be such a fun party!!! The venue is absolutely stunning and the staff and owners really do put perfection in the details. My only complaint is communication and their willingness to work with us. We got married in October of 2020, during a global pandemic. The whole world was shut down and having to change things up. I’m also a front line worker as an Emergency Department nurse. The venue was NOT willing to work with us as far as cancellation or postponement. The only wiggle room they gave us was to postpone “sometime in 2020”. Our wedding was 10/11/20 so that literally gave us a month and a half which made no difference because the pandemic wasn’t going away in a month. It was not fun to have to just go ahead with our wedding and only have about half of our guests come because the rest were hesitant due to the pandemic. We had a lot of unnecessary worry and anxiety leading up to our wedding due to this. We also missed out on several loved ones being at our wedding and we can never get that back.Anyway, besides that one hiccup, our wedding day was absolutely perfect and we will have amazing memories of it forever.

I am still on cloud 9 after my wedding day! Southern Oaks made me feel like a true princess during the entire reception. I finally had the opportunity to see my GRAND entrance onto the property from a different perspective and I still get the cheesy smile on my face at how that experience made me feel. From the start of my wedding preparation the staff at Southern Oaks went way beyond my expectations. From simply replying to my emails in a timely manner to making sure that I (and my husband) had a drink in our hand the entire time. Even during these times of COVID the staff at Southern Oaks helped me to still be able to have the wedding of my dreams. Although we opted out of having a private dinner for my husband and I, they made sure to send us home with some very delicious food. All of my guests had nothing but fabulous things to say about their whole experience, but especially their tasty food. I had a vision of having ice cream (and cake) at my wedding since I prefer that more than cake and Stacey especially made this vision a reality better than I could have asked for. I truly cannot thank everyone at Southern Oaks enough for everything they did for myself, our family and our friend.

Where do I even begin? If you are here like I was 14 months ago because you are considering Southern Oaks for your New Orleans wedding, stop right now, do not waste any more time looking at venues and pick Southern Oaks. As an out of state bride who plans events for a living, I was a tad nervous about the logistics of planning from New Jersey. Let me just say that Lauren was an absolute godsend. Her and the entire SOP team made planning so easy and stress free. It is so evident that they have a passion and knack for delivering amazing service and giving people their dream wedding that they can enjoy. Not having to stress about picking a DJ, table centerpieces or a menu gave me time to focus on picking a photographer, bridesmaid dresses and other details. Now, lets get to the magical part, the wedding! From the moment I stepped off the shuttle bus, I was treated like an absolute queen. The staff was incredible in taking care of me, my groom and our families and bridal parties. Lauren, Mr. Bobby(the amazing owner) Vince, Nick, Jeremy and Justin and all of the bartenders/wait staff. They were all so friendly, so professional and kept the night running smoothly. The surprise Rolls Royce entrance was an absolute dream and according to my Groom was his favorite part of the evening. My guests have not stopped talking about the food, the jazz band, the fireworks and the beautiful lit up front lawn and back patio area. Thank you Southern Oaks for giving me the wedding of my dreams and according to our guests, the wedding of the decade.

I just received my wedding photos and I am just so in awe of Southern Oaks Plantation. My husband and I got married there in November of 2019 and it was an absolute dream. From the moment I stepped foot onto the grounds when I was searching for a venue, I just knew it was such a special place. I am in Boston, but from the South and I knew I wanted my wedding back home and for my guests from all over to get a feel for some authentic southern charm. The SOP staff was incredible. Planning from far away was actually a breeze. Lauren and Mr. Bobby were always so accommodating and helpful when I called and emailed with my several questions. The rehearsal was very thorough and they just made me feel calm during the entire process. My wedding day was nothing short of amazing. It was a dream come true. It was everything I could have asked for and more. I will never forget the special drive in the Rolls, and the sweet surprise fireworks. Mr. Bobby even took some of his own sweet time to show my flower girl the horses, and she loved it. The jazz band was definitely a hit when starting the party to the reception! The Cafe Du Monde truck was also a huge hit at the end of the night! Southern Oaks just has so much to offer and they made my husband and I feel so special. I have received nothing but compliments from my guests on how professional the staff was, how beautiful the ceremony and reception were, and how amazing the food was! Several said it was the best wedding they had ever attended! Emma and Nick were our personal attendants and they were the best! Lauren was a gem! My entire night went so smoothly and the staff did not miss a beat! They handled everything! I can't say enough good things, I wish I could go back and do it all over. The rehearsal was very thorough and they just made me feel calm during the entire process. My wedding day was nothing short of amazing. It was a dream come true. It was everything I could have asked for and more. I will never forget the special drive in the Rolls, and the sweet surprise fireworks. Mr. Bobby even took some of his own sweet time to show my flower girl the horses, and she loved it. The jazz band was definitely a hit when starting the party to the reception! The Cafe Du Monde truck was also a huge hit at the end of the night! Southern Oaks just has so much to offer and they made my husband and I feel so special. I have received nothing but compliments from my guests on how professional the staff was, how beautiful the ceremony and reception were, and how amazing the food was! Several said it was the best wedding they had ever attended! Emma and Nick were our personal attendants and they were the best! Lauren was a gem! My entire night went so smoothly and the staff did not miss a beat! They handled everything! I can't say enough good things, I wish I could go back and do it all over. Bobby Asaro and his staff are the absolute best in the business. What makes them a step above all others is their passion for what they do it is not just a job it is Bobby's calling. From the day we walked in to book we knew we made the right choice with our daughter. They left no detail unturned. They were our wedding planners, they recommend an amazing list of vendors we might need. We chose all of our vendors based on their recommendations including bakery. Limos. Photographer , flowers, makeup artist, invitations etc. and were super pleased with all! The venue itself is so classy , elegant, and just plain amazing. Southern Oaks is a one stop venue for all of your wedding needs. Our daughter chose to be married in church and have her reception at Southern Oaks. Bobby was there to greet us as we arrived! Not many owners care that much! The surprise grand entrance with fireworks, fairytale music, lights and streamers Bobby planned for our daughter was priceless and just took our breath away. The smile on our daughters face is one we will never forget thanks to Bobby. Her smile stayed the entire night! It was the most flawless wedding any bride and parents could ever hope for She told us she always dreamed of her dream wedding BUT never dreamed it would be as special as it was. DETAIL is what they do food, drinks, attendants for parents ,bride and groom, Thank God for wonderful Emma to bussel my daughters huge dress, music, lights, decor!! JUST all amazing.We all really wish we could do it all over again! AND we would not change a thing. It is truly sad that I can only give Bobby and Southern Oaks five stars in this review. I don’t even know where to begin with this – it’s hard to put into words just how perfect and magical Southern Oaks and the staff truly are, but this is the best word I can think of to describe this place…Magic. We had a year to plan this destination wedding, and Mr. Bobby, Lauren, and the rest of the staff made it the easiest process throughout the entire year..alleviating all the worries and stress that brides experience while planning a wedding. No matter how many questions I asked, how many emails I sent (and how annoying I’m sure my mother and I both were), Lauren always responded so quickly, with such a great attitude, and answered every question in such detail. I could go on and on about how amazing they were leading up to the big day, but what brings me to actual tears is how they treated us the day of. First off, if you just visit Southern Oaks, you’ll see that the plantation sells itself. It’s truly something that you only see in movies and magazines..the Spanish moss on the trees, the perfectly manicured front lawn, all the way to the beautiful pool, lights, and horse stables in the backyard. The details inside are equally astounding..the music, chandeliers, décor, the different rooms spread out across the plantation, even the women’s restroom was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. It’s a picture perfect dream come true. The service that you get with the team is the other part that is almost impossible to put into words. I've heard horror stories of things going wrong the day of the wedding, or the bride experiencing mishaps at their venues. I can honestly say that every moment of our day was better than I could have ever imagined in my wildest dreams,& absolutely nothing went even slightly wrong. Not once. They are the most well-oiled machine you will ever see..everything is so perfectly orchestrated, and there was never a single hiccup during our entire experience. On top of that, they exceeded every expectation I could have ever had for my wedding day. Mr. Bobby pulled out all the extra stops, from surprising me with my grand entrance in their Rolls Royce to a magnificent fireworks show that ended the ceremony. They made me feel like a real life princess from start to finish. Even the service we received throughout the entire reception never ceased to amaze us. Nick was our attendant that evening and I don’t think a single ice cube could melt in my drink before he was right beside me offering a new one (Nick, you were fantastic)! They make you feel like royalty from the second you step foot on their property, and I was so blown away by all of it. Our family and friends haven’t stopped RAVING about the venue, food, service, atmosphere and everything in between. We have heard over and over again from guests how it was the best wedding they have ever been to, and I have zero doubts that they are telling the truth. I was an anxious bride that had always just hoped to survive the day of my wedding in one piece, but I can honestly say that I would do it over and over again if I could just because Southern Oaks made it an actual dream come true that I never wanted to end. I hope every bride can feel the perfection and magic that I did on my wedding day, and I’m 1000% sure that they would if they choose to get married here. Oh my goodness. Where do I begin. I could not thank Southern Oaks Plantation enough for the magical wedding we had this December. Mr. Bobby, you are an amazing human being. He was there himself and talked to me and assured me how great everything was going to be and asked me what exactly I had in mind and his opinions and let me tell you, our minds were blown myself included. When we booked with Southern Oaks Plantation we knew this was a great venue but we had no idea how GREAT it was going to be. I have had multiple people including kids tell me how this was the best wedding they had been to. The staff is AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. I had champagne all night, they made sure we ate, made sure our families were doing okay, I mean you name it, they made sure it happened. now about the food.... THE BEST FOOD I HAVE HAD! wow just wow. the food kept coming from the moment everyone went in and it did not stop. I have had almost every single guest at the wedding comment on how great the food was. It was AMAZING. We took a little bit longer eating our dinner because we wanted more and more.. Honestly, the best decision we made was to book with Southern Oaks Plantation. We live in Houston so this was a destination wedding for us and I was very nervous as I did not get to go to LA and did not feel like I was as prepared as I should be? But oh my oh my, How AMAZING everyone at Southern Oaks Plantation made it to be. It was truly a magical wedding, a wedding to remember. We had guests come in from New Jersey and California many of which had never visited LA before and they were so amazed and loved every single thing about this venue. My husband and I truly recommend this place to anyone who is looking and is not sure. Trust me, you will not regret it. Holy smokes! Where do I begin??? This place, the employees, the atmosphere! It is the most perfect place to have your wedding! The first time I walked though that door I was absolutely taken away! I was introduced to an amazing lady named Lauren. She was the sweetest person I had dealt with while going crazy trying to find a place to hold my wedding. She answered any questions I had and was so patient. I was later introduced to Mr. Bobby. Well he has that perfect southern charm and made us feel like he has been knowing us for years. We had our baby and he heard from Lauren that I am a huge Disney fan. Well hello, I use to work at Disney! Lol anyways, he gave our little girl a stuffed Minnie Mouse. It’s the little things that catches people’s attention. She still has it and carries it around all the time. The whole place made you feel like you were home! The absolute best! I will take you to the week of our weeding. I was a stressed bride to say the least. The day we went to drop some stuff off at the plantation, Lauren worked her magic and made everything so calm. I remember her always telling me “let us do the worrying, let us do the work!” And that they did. Now, night of my wedding they met us before the doors of the limo stopped. They are so orchestrated and has everything down to a science you, the bride, don’t have time to worry about this or that, they are already 10 steps ahead. Me. Bobby told my Matron of Honor “I have a little surprise for her!” Well holy smokes let me tell you! This man went above and beyond! Mickey and Minnie showed up at my wedding and to top it off I really got to have FIREWORKS at my wedding!!! The food was amazing! They have so much, so don’t worry about leaving hungry! Everyone that came to our wedding all agreed this was the best wedding they have ever been to. They are all still talking about it wanting to do it over so they can relive it. This is truest a magical place where DREAMS COME TRUE!

My daughter was married here on October 26, 2019. First, I will start with the incredible professionalism of the entire staff from Mr. Bobby on down. He leads by example. The day before her wedding, sub-tropical Olga reared her ugly head and wreaked havoc on New Orleans. The MSY airport was even closed on Saturday due to energy outages. Southern Oaks was not spared her wrath. By the morning, the damage to trees and vegetation in the area was widespread. Mr. Bobby quickly assembled all hands and cleared all the damage from the grounds. By the time we arrived for the one o'clock wedding there was absolutely no evidence that a storm had even occurred. After seeking out Mr. Bobby upon my arrival, to whom I had spoken to numerous times but never met, he apologized profusely for not being in a tuxedo due to the last minute clean up. He earnestly cares for every couple and wants there day to be perfect and will do whatever it takes to achieve that goal. My daughter's wedding followed her older sister's wedding seven weeks earlier, it was an expensive year, lol. The comparison between the two was remarkable. At my older daughter's wedding in New Jersey, where we are from, I was constantly badgered by the staff for every single detail during the reception, do you want us to do this, is this okay, should we put the food out now. At Southern Oaks, I had as much interaction with the staff, but it was more like, would you like another drink? Can I get you anything else? Thank you Jeremy, you helped make the day perfect. Secondly, the food. You will not go home hungry, the variety was amazing: praline chicken, gumbo, jambalaya, sliders with fries, just to mention a few and all cooked to perfection. They start serving food as soon as you walk in the door and don't stop until you leave. I highly recommend adding the Drago's grilled oysters enhancement, they were fantastic. Dragos grill the oysters outside by the pool and it gets people moving about.Thirdly, the price. Southern Oaks was an all inclusive venue. The value for the money is unrivaled. There are no hidden or last minute fees. Southern Oaks is a well oiled machine. This was a destination wedding for us. All of the vendors we dealt with kept telling us how much we were going to love Southern Oaks and they were not wrong. Thank you for a perfect day.

I'm still floating weeks later recalling how they took 15-16 months of my very detailed planning documents (I'm very particular about process & logistics in general & I had an equally VERY SPECIFIC vision for what I wanted to match!) ~ Lauren & Mr. Bobby took ALL of it in ~ we're talking a massive amount of emails here ~ and created the absolute PERFECT wedding day that I envisioned; they are truly best in class and are such wonderful people to boot! The venue is stunning and they take immaculate care of the grounds; it's truly a marvel to see, especially at night!! My ceremony included details on a pre-event playlist for guests upon arrival, a horse & carriage entrance, fireworks, jazz band, timed music, coordination and entrances of specific individuals in my wedding party, and literally like magic, it all just came together spectacularly on our big day ~ EVERY single person that attended ~ over 100 guests again from all over the world, were so impressed and beyond awed at the experience Southern Oaks delivered. Very impressive. My wife and I got married here on April 27, 2019. The folks at Southern Oaks Plantation (SOP) have wedding planning and execution down to a science. From the very beginning of our contact with them, they were professional and responsible. They assigned Lauren Burgess as the primary point of contact for our wedding and she remained attentive and friendly throughout. She seemed genuinely excited to be planning our wedding and was very easy to work with. SOP handles the majority of details for the ceremony and reception so it makes things easy on the bride and groom during the planning process. On the day of, they had individual people assigned to different roles taking care of specific people and things, and had a standardized process for preparing the bridal party for the ceremony, which was executed flawlessly. There are only two things I would do differently. During the ceremony itself I would have liked more guidance on where exactly to stand as bridge and groom...we ended up standing too far apart much of it! Secondly, we had planned a second-line during the reception and weren't advised until the week before that SOP usually doesn't do the second-lines outside. We ended up doing it outside anyway but only had two saxophones and neither of the originally requested drums, resulting in a weaker than desired sound. This was mostly just a miscommunication between SOP, the band, and us. Not a big deal; just make sure you get everyone on the same page for this early on. Everything else was honestly perfect, and I do not use that word lightly. The grounds were gorgeous, the staff courteous and attentive, the plan well thought out and executed, the reception fun, the bar easy, the food absolutely fantastic, and on and on. It was especially nice that during the reception, from start to finish, the SOP staff was constantly checking on us (bride and groom) to ensure we had everything we needed from drinks to change of clothes to even a new pair of socks! They were always respectful of our time, space, and privacy but never far when we needed them. One of the capstones for us was that the owner threw in a surprise fireworks and streamers show at the end of our ceremony! We had no idea it was coming! Many guests said our wedding was a \"fairytale wedding,\" and they raved about the setting and food in particular. As many of them are high-performing professionals, this commentary is not frivolous or given without being earned. My wife and I would highly recommend you considering SOP for your wedding. We would choose them again in a heartbeat!

We considered top venues from around the country for our wedding...iconic places such as The Plaza and Tavern on the Green in New York City, Boone Plantation in South Carolina (the setting of The Notebook), celebrity-owned vineyards and beautiful botanical gardens in Nashville, the breath-taking Ringling estate in Sarasota Florida...you name it. It took me about FIVE minutes to decide on Southern Oaks Plantation. Clicking on the most comprehensive venue website I've ever come across, we were blown away by the simplification the venue offers. A well-laid out website lets you instantly calculate pretty much the entirety of the money you will have to budget for the event( they include the Dj, the food, dessert, the bar, the centerpieces, candles, bathroom amenities, the staff, the gratuity). The venue itself is so beautifully decorated throughout that you literally could show up with a bouquet and be done with it. My guests were doing photo shoots in the ladies room- it's that classy and beautiful. The venue is so well-priced for what you actually get- more delicious food than your guests could ever want ( so much love in this food.. southern favorites and family recipes paired with traditional fare), the lushest most romantic setting you could imagine, and interiors that rival the best five star hotels. The well-choreographed precision at which the staff is able to execute your perfect day,( headsets are used to communicate) is a comfort afforded to you when you need it most! They allow you to just show up and enjoy everything! The staff- they are the best!!! First of all, this is a family-owned business and it shows. Love vibes abound when you enter this place! The Asaro family will be like your family by the time this is over. Besides being classy and professional, they are just COOL. They are the kind of people you'd want in your squad full-time! They really do go above and beyond to ensure you have a fairy-tale day that your friends and family will be talking about for years. I planned my wedding from Chicago with ease. No stress! The extras offered at Southern Oaks are outstanding. We added almost all of them ( you should too! At the very least you MUST get the fireworks, band and parade! ) and were STILL UNDER BUDGET. My husband is a former hotel chain officer and I have worked for years in event planning/catering... YOU WILL NOT GET MORE FOR YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE. Two suggestions if you do book- 1. ADD THE EXTRA HOUR!!! 2. Skip all the speeches (or keep it short) and shorten the dances (have the dj fade out after a few verses). You'll be happy to have more time to eat etc.!! Problems we encountered ELSEWHERE- Some venues require a \"certified wedding planner\" (where do you even get one of those?), some don't allow flames, candles or sparklers, some don't provide food but force you to use one of their selected vendors, some are having multiple weddings at a time( I went to one of these recently and we ended up accidentally taking the wrong favors! Sorry Charlene and Mike, whoever you are), some make you call and ask for pricing, some charge for EVERY LITTLE THING! Don't waste money on a guestbook, cake cutting knives, special toasting glasses, cake stand rental fees etc. Southern Oaks takes care of it all. At the reception, someone compared my wedding to the one in \"Crazy Rich Asians\". You will feel like a princess on your wedding day, more importantly, you can relax. I promise it will be the best decision!!

Brides, let me tell you something, this place will calm your Bridal-Panic-Anxiety. I was constantly asking questions and they answered them so fast. Just relax and let them do their thing because believe me when I say this, THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. They made my life so much easier, especially since I was planning our wedding from Atlanta. The open bar was a blessing, my husband and I never had to go up to the bar because our attendants were constantly giving us drinks. Every time we had to put our drink down and go take pictures or cut cake or whatever the millions things we had to do, we would turn around and HELLO HERE'S ANOTHER DRINK. God bless these people. I left my wedding turnt. Best day of my life. My husband and I would go back just to visit these people. Mr. Bobby is like your dad who just wants everything for his little girl to go right. That man calmed my nerves before walking down the aisle. Now, the only downside to this place is the short reception time we had. Myself and a few of our guests weren't ready for the party to end. 3 hours may seem like a long time, but it really wasn't. Especially for the Bride and the Groom, they don't get to enjoy it as much because they are being dragged around for pictures, and talking and just everything else. My husband and I just wanted to dance and enjoy our guests. This would have been possible if we didn't have such a time limit on the reception. OTHER THAN THAT. 9.9/10 would recommend. Southern Oaks is the best.

Especially for the Bride and the Groom, they don't get to enjoy it as much because they are being dragged around for pictures, and talking and just everything else. My husband and I just wanted to dance and enjoy our guests. This would have been possible if we didn't have such a time limit on the reception. OTHER THAN THAT. 9.9/10 would recommend. Southern Oaks is the best.

So many guests have told us how impressed they were with the venue, staff, and food! It actually was the best wedding ever! The food was outstanding and they just kept bringing out more! (We weren’t upset!) We really appreciate how Stacey and Bobby went above and beyond for us to make sure we had the best day. They exceeded our expectations when helping us with all the fine details beforehand. Emma, Jeremy, and Vince were absolutely outstanding.... I mean, talk about a dream team! They made sure my husband and I were always taken care of, and they were all so sweet and accommodating. Honestly though, it was a complete dream. We are so happy and grateful for everything! I have dreamed of my wedding at Southern Oaks for many years. December 1st it finally came true! Lauren and the entire staff made our day absolutely magical! From the moment we stepped foot to book to the very end of our reception, every detail was just perfect and very well thought out. My husband and I got engaged at Disney World and they took note of that. We had a surprise special visit from Mickey and Minnie. At the end of the night, they even surprised us with fireworks going off to the Soarin' soundtrack! We were extremely blessed to have had them make our day so incredibly magical. Southern Oaks is beyond my wildest dreams. I can’t sing enough praises for these guys. Bobby and Lauren made the night incredible and full of magic, I genuinely felt like a princess. Lauren went through absolutely every detail and made sure the ceremony and reception were flawless. The staff was so attentive, and not just to my husband and I, but our family as well. Making sure we had fresh drinks, food, etc. and keeping everyone happy. I never imagined such thoughtful and friendly hospitality.As y’all can see in the pictures, this place is exquisite both inside and out. A lovely, classic antebellum exterior with a stunning and sharp Art Deco interior. This place was literally made for photos.Food was delicious, and the amount of options is crazy! There’s something for everyone and every dietary need. We booked the photographers, florist and bakery, while Southern Oaks handled the rest. Our wedding was November 15th and to say that our expectations were exceeded is an understatement. The staff handled every aspect of the wedding flawlessly. We were amazed at how well things came together being that we put in minimal effort on what’s supposed to be the best day of our lives.Our family and friends couldn’t believe how stress free we were about the entire process and were blown away by the grandness of the ceremony and reception. Honestly, we were even blown away by how magical their grounds and facilities were for our evening wedding. Everything came together perfectly; their service is top notch and we could do another review just on how great the food was alone. We had friends and family telling us that this was hands down the best wedding they’d ever been to and not being boastful because it was ours, but it was the best we’d been to as well. All in all, if you are looking for a wedding venue with “Southern Charm” to really engulf your guests in all the traditions of New Orleans we assure you this venue is it. They made our planning process so much easier than I could have imagined and were very responsive when we called or emailed any questions. My husband and I wanted to get married in New Orleans and was interested in an all inclusive venue. Well we signed the contract and it was the best decision ever. From the first phone call up to the last dance, Mr. Bobby and his gracious staff handled my guest and the entire wedding party like royalty. Every question I had regarding my wedding was answered, this venue provides everything and they do not try to upsell you on items. There are no hidden fees, upcharges or surprises. Well, the surprises are what your guest will experience. My wedding was Magical, Grand and Royal. Everything was smooth and effortless, the staff operates this place like a well oiled machine. There is no running around, no one is confused and you, the wedding party and family members are assigned a concierge that ensures your culinary/drink needs are met. The Food: It is not your typical wedding plate of chicken, fish or buffet. This place provides a Taste of New Orleans, I mean your guest will not stop talking about what they ate, how good the food was and how much food was being passed. Amazing flavors and a huge variety. There is no waiting, once the reception starts the food is being passed, this style was great because it also eliminated the hassle of seating charts, open seating was also another reason I loved this place. Enhancements: I chose to have a New Orleans Style Brass Band, Horse and Carriage, Carving Station and Fireworks, which made it a very grand time, my guest were over stimulated with surprises. During the time of our wedding, my husband and I was experiencing a difficult time and Mr. Bobby had a surprise for us, he upgraded our fireworks package to River Fireworks, it was like the 4th of July in September. The sky was lit up over the River.. all for us. The Venue: This place is gorgeous on the inside and outside. The outside has huge moss filled oak trees with a beautiful historic fountain as you enter, it's really picturesque and well kept grounds. Behind the Mansion there is plenty parking for your guests and a stable and swimming pool where the beautiful white horse are kept. Your guest can sit outside and enjoy the cafe tables where the music from inside is piping outside for their enjoyment. Inside every room is gorgeous, the place has a timeless feel with a real richness that provides grandeur. Jeremy, Lauren and Mariah customer service just impeccable, I can also tell that this is a great place to work. They all really work in sync and the professionalism, I just cannot state it enough. I will always remember my wedding day and cherish the wonderful memories because of the staff here, the owner and the venue. My guests are still calling and saying how this was by far the best wedding they have ever attended. Most of my guest have become wedding snobs because of their experience here. I booked this as a destination wedding and I only saw pictures online until I came to Nola 3 days before my wedding. Let me just say this THE PICTURES OF THIS VENUE DO NOT DO IT JUSTICE!! The location is beautiful and I loved our pictures from in front of the venue. Our attendants were amazing and provided everything we needed throughout the day. My one wish for my wedding was the be able to eat, dance, and enjoy myself. I expressed this and Southern Oaks made sure this happened. Mr. Bobby and Mrs. Sue were hands on and I actually met them several times during my planning process. Our coordinator Lauren was FABULOUS throughout and always answered my questions promptly. I wish I could give them 10 stars because they deserve it. They made my wedding a dream come true and I can't thank them enough for it. My guests also raved about the food and amount of food. I wish there were more than 5 stars because Southern Oaks deserves it. Let me start off by saying we chose Southern Oaks without even seeing it in person because we trusted our planner, Stacey, and we were not disappointed AT ALL!!! From the moment we booked Southern Oaks to the final seconds of our wedding it was smooth and beautiful. First off, the venue is ABSOLUTELY stunning! Our guests could not and still can't stop raving about how beautiful Southern Oaks was, which we agree. Southern Oaks has the planning process so well organized that they leave little room for any unanswered questions; which makes sense since they went to the Disney School of Concierge. (And Mr. Asaro had a Mickey Mouse pin on his lapel to prove it) Stacey was so attentive to our needs and wants as well as accommodating. We were a destination wedding couple so we only got to see the venue once and she walked us through the whole venue and timeline months before the ceremony which helped ease some of our nerves, not that we had many. Stacey also told us about Plan B in case it rained on our wedding day. Well I am glad she did tell us because it rained all day on the day of the wedding. However, Mr. Asaro was watching the weather channel app and he was able to find a nice gap where the rain stopped and we were able to have our ceremony outside, which is what we wanted!! What impressed me the most was how attentive the whole staff was to us as the bride and groom but also to our guests. As the bride and groom it was almost like we had our own personal assistants at our fingertips, which was amazing. We also really liked that we had a private room to eat dinner just the two of us because at a lot of weddings the bride and groom don't eat, so that alone time was nice. And the food was AMAZING!! Our guests could not stop talking about how delicious and unending the food was. Next, we loved all the little extras you could add on, which we did the photo booth, horse drawn carriage and fireworks. Everyone was so amazed by the fireworks and could not believe what they were seeing. I truly felt like a fairytale princess on the day of my wedding. Finally, as I stated before, Southern Oaks is just a beautiful venue in and of itself. There are so many different picturesque opportunities on the venue- but a favorite amongst all guests, the LOVE sign. I can't tell you how many of our guests went and took pictures out there, even in the rain. We truly loved every moment of our wedding at Southern Oaks and would happily do it all over again!! I wish there were more than 5 stars because Southern Oaks deserves it. Let me start off by saying we chose Southern Oaks without even seeing it in person because we trusted our planner, Stacey, and we were not disappointed AT ALL!!! From the moment we booked Southern Oaks to the final seconds of our wedding it was smooth and beautiful. First off, the venue is ABSOLUTELY stunning! Our guests could not and still can't stop raving about how beautiful Southern Oaks was, which we agree. Southern Oaks has the planning process so well organized that they leave little room for any unanswered questions; which makes sense since they went to the Disney School of Concierge. (And Mr. Asaro had a Mickey Mouse pin on his lapel to prove it) Stacey was so attentive to our needs and wants as well as accommodating. We were a destination wedding couple so we only got to see the venue once and she walked us through the whole venue and timeline months before the ceremony which helped ease some of our nerves, not that we had many. Stacey also told us about Plan B in case it rained on our wedding day. Well I am glad she did tell us because it rained all day on the day of the wedding. However, Mr. Asaro was watching the weather channel app and he was able to find a nice gap where the rain stopped and we were able to have our ceremony outside, which is what we wanted!! We met in New Orleans 7 years ago and currently live in New York. We had 180 people travel from out of town to experience the city that we love and Southern Oaks provided the true New Orleans experience. They impressed every single person at the wedding and gave us the night of our lives. Being from the North East, weddings are usually 5 hours long and involve a cocktail hour, sit down dinner, and more. Originally I wasn’t sure how the family and friends would take to the New Orleans style wedding… well let me put any future couples fears to bed now. Our wedding will be talked about for years to come and Southern Oaks made that possible. They heard every last request and calmed all of our fears. At one point after our walk through I called Lauren at Southern Oaks for one last question and before I could even ask she said “I know why your calling.” Sure enough, she did and had already made the change I was calling to request. They even added some amazing surprises to really make our night special. Our parents were taken care of throughout the night by personal attendants who made sure they were treated like royalty. They could not stop talking about how thrilled they were with the staff, the venue and the entire night. We stumbled upon SOP online before we were even engaged and immediately fell in love with the stunning venue. After getting engaged, we literally did not research any other venues and didn’t even visit SOP in person before booking our date. We just knew! And it was the absolute best decision we have ever made. Southern Oaks is truly everything you read about and so so much more that can’t be captured in writing. The staff, including the always smiling Mr. Bobby, Lauren, Stacey, Jeremy, and so many others were the most attentive, conscientious, and kind people from the beginning of the planning process. They have all the details covered and truly make planning your wedding FUN and as stress-free as possible, especially for out-of-town couples like we were! We were treated like absolute royalty on our wedding day and did not have to worry about anything. Our parents were also treated SO well and were so impressed by their sweet personal attendants. If we had to recommend something, we’d highly recommend getting the extra hour to allow ample time for taking photos and getting lots of time to spend with your guests. Trust us, you’ll never want the night to end!The most common compliment we get on our wedding day was that it was an absolute fairytale. From the horse and carriage, incredibly talented jazz band, the stunning grounds, insane food, perfect decor, and all the other bells and whistles (seriously, we could go on and on!), SOP was above and beyond our wildest dreams. On the big day, all of the staff was excellent and went above and beyond to make sure everything went perfect! They provided a planner/coordinator for myself, wedding party, and our parents for the day of, to make sure that none of us needed to worry about anything and so we could truly enjoy that night. Many of our guests told us that it was the most beautiful wedding they've ever been to and that the food was amazing. It was beautiful and felt like a fairytale wedding with the carriage and all of the lights outside. Everyone said I was crazy and that 8 months was not enough time but due to the all inclusive nature of Southern Oaks and the professionalism of the staff, it totally was.I live in Houston TX and was only able to make it to New Orleans 2 times before my wedding. I was never worried during the planning process and all came together without a hitch. I could never have imagined having more of a fairytale wedding. I owe the entire day to these people. They also threw in a few unexpected extras to make the day even better. So many guests have told us this was the best wedding they have ever been to and definitely unique. It almost brings me to to tears how great this day was and it is all thanks to Lauren, Bobby( the owner), Jeremy & all the rest of the wonderful staff at Southern Oaks. If you are considering booking at Southern Oaks, DO IT! You will never regret it!!

My husband and I are originally from New Orleans, but live in Illinois. We know and appreciate the fanfare the \"Big Easy\" has to offer. Our daughter and her fiancé live in Ohio. After their 2016 New Years Eve engagement, our 1st choice venue was reserved without delay. Lauren was our main SOP coordinator. She was a true southern belle, friendly, professional, helpful and accommodating. She answered lots of questions making the destination challenge easier, and made sure we felt great about the venue and were aware of all of it's offerings. We wanted a grand celebration so we added several additional SOP enhancements to help make it happen. Meeting Bobby and Sue Asaro (SOP owners) was a pleasure! They are kind, compassionate, and have a love and sincere passion for what they do. They make your dreams come true! Merci Beaucoup to the Asaro's, Lauren and the entire SOP staff! You all are amazing, the best of the best! Everything was spectacular on October 22, 2017 for our daughter and son-in-law's wedding! Family and friends from all over the country came to help celebrate their union. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with smiles and enthusiasm and received exemplary service throughout the evening. The grounds and buildings were gorgeous! The staff was phenomenal! The food was beyond delicious, it was scrumptious and abundant! Everything was right on time and right on point! Words can't describe the mystical magic we felt once the wedding ceremony started. Everyone was amazed when the horse drawn carriage pulled up with my husband and daughter. As the twinkle of all the lights that filled the surroundings were ignited, it took our breath away! The ceremony was lovely, inspiring and serene. It was followed by exhilarating fireworks! Gold streamers fell from the sky above the couple as the carriage approached the building's entry. The jazz band lead us into the reception with a Second Line and fueled the celebration! Truly NOLA at it's best! It was so enchanting and exciting, like a fairytale being created right before our eyes! Special attention and care was given to all by the owners and staff. Food and drinks steadily flowed as guests signed the couples congrats portrait, took snapshots in the photo booth, relaxed and chatted at poolside, while the DJ made his mark with the couple's mix of music as we danced the night away! Simply amazing! Southern Oaks was our first and last tour for reception venues. Immediately upon walking though the door we were treated like royalty. The plantation is absolutely beautiful from the stunning oak trees in front to the horse stables behind the house. From myself and my Husband, to our parents, our bridal party and our guests, the service was absolutely incredible. Every time I blinked there was someone else handing me a glass of champagne or some delicious dish. The food was absolutely amazing, the DJ was perfect, I literally cannot think of one thing to complain about. The staff accommodated our every need and did so with a smile on their face. Our wedding was an absolute fairytale, more beautiful then we could have ever imagined!

Simply amazing! Southern Oaks was our first and last tour for reception venues. Immediately upon walking though the door we were treated like royalty. The plantation is absolutely beautiful from the stunning oak trees in front to the horse stables behind the house. From myself and my Husband, to our parents, our bridal party and our guests, the service was absolutely incredible. Southern Oaks was the best choice we could have possibly made for our venue. I have a very demanding job and knew I needed a one stop shop that had everything I was looking for and Southern Oaks was definitely it. The plantation and grounds are gorgeous and make for beautiful photos. The food is delicious. What was most striking (and amazing) was the fact that Mr. Bobby and his team take care of every single detail for you. From our arrival to the ceremony to the first dance, cake cutting and more, the day flowed perfectly. I can honestly say his team helped me keep from stressing out during the wedding day! They were so helpful with last minute requests (such as needing fabric tape!) and clearly wanted to make sure we were happy. Mr. Bobby even set up several surprises we were grateful for. Even morning rain didn't throw a wrench in the plan. If you are someone looking for a well-planned event that leaves you feeling pampered and like royalty, look no further.

I wish I was able to give 10 stars, honestly. Southern Oaks Plantation will take your breath away, as well as your guests! We are from Memphis and were having to plan our wedding in New Orleans remotely, and Southern Oaks was a blessing sent from Heaven. If I had a question via e-mail, they responded within 1-2 hours. If I left a message, they called back within 1-2 hours. I mean their response time is any control freaks DREAM. At Southern Oaks, they treat you like royalty, which says a lot since they have anywhere from 1-5 weddings a weekend. I cannot say enough about their team, we worked mostly with Taylor and Lauren and WOW, what superstars. Mr. Bobby and his wife Sue are also some of the sweetest and most accommodating people on the face of the planet. Now, into some of the details that you receive when you book this venue for your wedding: FOOD, AMAZING FOOD, unlimited booze, gorgeous ambiance, horses in a hand-drawn carriage, fireworks, personal attendants, pre-arranged tables and decorations, and did I mention FOOD. I mean, really this place has no flaws. If you are a local bride or especially an out-of-town one, Southern Oaks is the place for you. They'll take care of it all and just let you enjoy your special night. I'm tellin' ya, 10 stars!!!

Where shall I start. How can I rave about the Southern Oaks Plantation without writing a book? I researched many venues when planning my wedding in New Orleans (we live in New York) and after browsing most of them, the one that stood out the most was SOP. I was mesmerized. I must admit, I was afraid to click on the price link. I just knew this gorgeous venue was out of my budget but if I tell you that not only was it the best priced out of all the venues, it was also all inclusive. I met with the owner, Bobby Asaro, who showed us around. He was so helpful and answered all our questions. You could clearly see that he takes great pride in his establishment and it’s all about the customer. We booked it immediately. The email exchange with SOP throughout the year was timely, staff were extremely helpful and such a pleasure to work with. The week before the wedding we (my fiancé and I) went for the rehearsal. Lauren Burgess was amazing. She answered all our questions, explained how the day would go and essentially told us all we had to do was enjoy our special day and leave all the details to them. The day of the wedding, I cannot begin to tell you how attentive staff were to all our guests. They made sure we (my fiancé and I) ate and guarded the entry so that we would not be disturbed, they were bringing us food quicker than we could eat it and drinks. The service was phenomenal. They coordinated all the details with such precision and took care of all the highlights (ie. cake cutting, bouquet toss, etc.) so that we could enjoy the reception. At the end, they prepared 2 boxes for us, one with cake and the other with various food items as well as a bottle of champagne. All of my guests were so impressed with the venue. They are still telling me it was the best wedding ever. I honestly cannot think of one thing that did not go as planned – SOP made our special day flawless and so memorable. I am truly grateful to everyone at SOP. I highly recommend.
