Spearfish Canyon Lodge Reviews
Heidi Nielsen(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-01-2017 The lodge and entire staff were amazing!! Such a neat, peaceful, and rustic venue - the food and service were all so great. We live 6+hours away, so our main communication were emails and phone calls - Everyone we talked to and worked with were so easy-going and took care of absolutely everything! We brought some of our own decorations and they even offered to put them up for us! All we had to do was pick out what we wanted (they either have the decorations at the lodge or they go through a vendor to get what colors you want), tweak it to be personalized to us however we wanted, and \"show up\"! I couldn't imagine a better spot for our wedding or an easier venue to work with! Excellent job, guys!! Reviewed on 18-01-2017
emily stanton(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-08-2013 The lodge did an amazing job on the big day, down to every last little detail! Reviewed on 01-09-2013

Amanda Neu(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-10-2011 I could not have asked for a more perfect day. They were so helpful and flexible with everything. They set up and cleaned up everything for us. All I had to do was show them and example table for the reception and their staff took care of the rest. I literally had to do nothing on the day to prepare the venue. The ceremony space was perfect, the food was delicious, and the scenery was fantastic! Plus, since our wedding was in the off season, it was cheaper! We chose to do food at our reception, but without food, you could easily spend less than 5,000 on the venue. Reviewed on 16-11-2011
Crystal Bonnichsen(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-09-2010 This is a beautiful location, any time of year. We got married outside in the fall, and had beautiful fall colors and gorgeous weather. However, the lodge has a beautiful main room with a huge fireplace and large windows which would be a beautiful indoor site, any time of the year. The events coordinator does a great job of helping plan every detail of the event and I found her to be extremely helpful. She was very organized and the day went very smoothly. The food is excellent, and it was so nice to have the entire event-ceremony, dinner, and dance- in one location so everyone could just check in and then enjoy the day. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars overall or in the service category was that a few members of the staff were not very helpful or friendly. The majority were however, but when you are spending that much money (including automatic gratuity on everything) you expect excellent service. However, overall I was extremely pleased with this location and would highly recommend it. In addition, the Black Hills of South Dakota are a beautiful place to visit. It is a little more expensive than some of the other venues in the area, but it offers the convenience of having everything in one location and I was very pleased with the experience.
