Making the most of what the estate had to offer, the Winery Distillery Brewery was opened. As an additional event area, this unique space created a destination within itself.
The manor is elegant and romantic with a regal exterior that inspires awe in all who enter. The crisp, clean event space invites guests to come in and take a seat. Open and airy, the main ballroom allows plenty of light to filter in, illuminating the room with a serene and ethereal glow. Springfield Manor Winery Distillery Brewery Reviews

This is the second time we have used Brian and his team for one of our kid's weddings. The first was at Stone Manor and this was our first experience at Springfield. The best word I can find to describe our experience is \"perfect\". The place is beautiful, charming, and elegant. The staff was knowledgeable and attentive. It was a Thanksgiving weekend so the weather could have made things challenging (the weather turned out beautiful) but Brian was ready for any scenario, and we were comforted to know that we were ready for any possible weather conditions. We were able to get in the facilities early that day, Brian and his staff were relaxed and ready to support us and the manor was such a beautiful place to get ready for the ceremony. They worked so well with our minister, photographers, video guy, and DJ. The food and catering was seamless, and it was just obvious to us once again that they know what they are doing and are the best at it. We realize now that Brian was a critical part of the best day of both of our kids lives and I couldn't be happier that we chose Springfield. I would say if you want the perfect experience, then Springfield is your place. We loved every second of it! Reviewed on 17-12-2023

My husband and I got married at Springfield Manor last month. If we could, we would rate 2.5 stars. Our experience was mostly positive until the actual day of our wedding, which left us disappointed with the service and catering. After receiving negative feedback from guests and being aware of many issues, we addressed these concerns with Brian via email, but it did not feel like he made a genuine effort to follow up.To start with a few positives, the booking process was easy and Loree/Jeanne were always swift with responses. The venue itself is beautiful. At the wedding, a majority of the staff were friendly and we later received raving reviews about the bartenders- the BYOB aspect went very smoothly. We were very happy with the appetizers (mac n’ cheese bites, beef crostini, jumbo shrimp, and especially the petite crab cakes). However, a lot of these positives were overshadowed by major issues. The owners advertise a capacity of 299 people for this venue, but their team was clearly overwhelmed by our wedding with ~260 guests. We HIGHLY recommend you look elsewhere if you have more than 200 guests. They messed up seating at multiple tables, took over an hour to serve entrees, cooked the steaks VERY inconsistently (some being charred until they were inedible), and ran out of kid meals because they served food to the wrong guests. We understand that hiccups at an event of this scale are inevitable, however we find it unacceptable that Brian/certain staff came off argumentative/impolite towards our guests during unfortunate situations that were not the guests’ fault (i.e. shortage of seats at tables, a missing meal for a child). Ultimately, we do not recommend this venue for larger weddings. Reviewed on 14-12-2023

Springfield Manor was the first venue I toured in person, just driving up to the property I already knew that this was the place I wanted to get married, it is stand alone so beautiful, and after meeting Brian I was completely sold. Brian and Loree were so wonderful to work with, they answered any questions I had quickly and were willing to accommodate a few last minute things that popped up. The day of the wedding itself, Brian was there to bring me and my husband water, he made sure we were able to have our wedding appetizers and have drinks in hand right after the ceremony. He also was a huge help with talkative guests, a few time when we tried to eat people came up to chat but Brian showed up to save the day and redirect guests so we could have a moment to eat. There is so much I loved about this venue that it would be impossible to list everything. Reviewed on 12-11-2023

Springfield Manor is an absolutely magical wedding venue from the gorgeous mountain backdrop of the ceremony site to the vineyard and lavender field in front of the historic manor. Our pictures are breathtaking and on our wedding day we felt like we were in a fairy tale. Lorrie and Brian were amasing to work with, responsive and answered every question we had before our big day. Being able to rent out the manor at a discount to spend the night with your friends and family is also a huge plus.I only wish they used a different caterer. While the food was good we had many problems with their caterer Great American Caterers whom you have to use as your caterer. I have written a separate review on their profile about the issues we experienced. But I would still recommend Springfield Manor to other couples - I just hope no other couples experience the issues we did as these were the only things that made our day not perfect. From the the first meeting to the end of the night, Brian had been with us every step of the way. Brian and Loree walked with us each step as it got closer to the big day. When looking for a venue, we searched for one that was affordable, beautiful, and held our guests. Those boxes were checked. From the moment we talked through the manor it absolutely took our breaths away. The grooms suite was rustic and charming, while the bridal suite was elegant and calm. The venue is not only there for the big things, but also the little. Some of the reasons why I felt that Brian and Loree should be held higher than any other venue looked at are these reasons:-Brian spoke truth and helped my husband and I form words we wanted to say when it came the first kiss. -Brian reminded the day was about us and that it onky revolved around us. -Brian helped and shared ways to cut costs that tremendously lowered our budget in areas we didnt think we could.-Loree was always attentive to emails and calls with a quick resolution.-The catering that is contracted with Springfield Manor Winery had some of the BEST food we have ever tasted when at a wedding. The scenery, the ballroom and the manor are truly unmatched. What really set the venue a part was working with Brian and Loree throughout our wedding planning process leading up to the wedding. All of our questions were always answered in a timely fashion and were so friendly to work with. On the day of our wedding my husband and I were blown away by the attentiveness of Brian. We had a major hiccup (our officiant didn’t show up) and Brian came to the rescue by quickly getting our ceremony printed for our friend to step in and marry us. After the ceremony, he had fresh water and cocktails and a plate of appetizers waiting so we could eat and drink and unwind. Throughout the night he attended so well to us and our guests. They raved about how attentive and friendly he was as well. The venue staff also went above and beyond. We got so many compliments on the venue, the bartenders and how good the food was. Michael and Mary got us lined up, gave us warnings, were available for questions all day, and made sure the Bride and Groom had cocktail hour signature drinks and hor d'oeuvres set aside after pictures during cocktail hour.*Rehearsal was quick, fun, and efficient thanks to Michael!Sure Springfield may be a \"wedding factory\ Reviewed on 04-06-2022

During the planning process, Brian and Loree were responsive to answer our many questions. There was a young man (we can't remember his name!) who helped with the ceremony rehearsal and the wedding itself, and he was wonderful. Brian helped on the actual wedding day - he was punctual, helpful, and a real hoot! We do wish that the signage for the guests was better, as they walked to the left of the manor instead of the right. It has been our special, half-way meeting spot when we wanted to see each other. I recently got engaged and took a tour of the venue. For years I have thought this would be such a wonderful place to get married. I have never been more disappointed. My mom and sister went with me and Brian never asked their names and never took a second to get to know us. I am not sure if he even knew I was the bride. He talked at us, not to us. He walked, what seemed like miles ahead of us, without speaking. The tour was only 13 minutes long. We were not allowed to ask questions or see the rooms in the house. When my Mom did ask a question, he cut her off and told us we would discuss that later. He could care less about getting my business. Looking for a wedding venue isn't easy and to be treated this way was so disappointing. I went home feeling defeated and so upset that not only did the venue not work out, but now our special, half-way meeting spot was ruined. I will never come back to this winery ever again. Joy Fitz(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-06-2018 The owners of Springfield Manor are very helpful and organized and very responsive. The grounds are beautiful. Make sure all of your vendors have liability insurance, because this is a requirement of the venue. My only complaint is the temperature of the bridal suite. I am so glad that I did not get ready in the bridal suite because it was so extremely hot, it was really unacceptable. While we waited for the guests to arrive we had to relocate to a room on the ground floor because my hair was falling and I was sweating my make up off and sweating in my dress. Only other concern is that they use an exclusive caterer, Carriage House. Carriage house gave me incorrect information once in person and once in writing via email regarding pricing, which they were unwilling to honor. Beth Handy(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-10-2016 When my wife and I drove into the property at Springfield Manor last fall, we knew this was where we would get married! The mountains in the background were gorgeous and there were blue skies for miles. Luckily for us, we had the same beautiful weather for our wedding there in October 2016. We utilized the outdoor pergola without additional decorations and DIYed our reception decor in the barn to let the structure speak for itself. The barn, despite its carpet (truly weird), was exactly what we were looking for, and we were able to open the large garage doors halfway through the night to let everyone cool off and spill outside from the dance floor. The barn only holds up to 130 guests, so it does limit the size if your wedding if that's a concern. We were extremely comfortable with around 100 people.Throughout the planning process, Brian and Loree were extremely communicative and helpful. We met our onsite coordinator Sherry, who works with the required catering company (Carriage House Inn) the week of the wedding and she was such a kind and organized presence running the schedule behind the scenes. I may have over-planned (spreadsheet addict, guilty as charged), but that meant I was able to hand things off that day and be at ease. If you're looking for a more hands-on organizer throughout the process, you may want to seek a separate wedding planner. The Inn staff were extremely attentive and always popping up just when you need a helping hand. We stayed overnight in the bridal suite, and the only complaint there was a not-so-great mattress. Some real talk: It isn't inexpensive. But if you love the location and the view and the vision of the property, it's worth it. Just don't overdo it on the decorations and let the place speak for itself. And, as a same-sex couple, we were extremely observant about how venues treated us when we first walked in the door. The staff at Springfield Manor were nothing but warm and open, and the paperwork was (mostly) accommodating to all couples. At no point did we worry that we wouldn't be welcome there, and the staff the day of our wedding seemed to catch our infectious joy. Reviewed on 24-10-2016
Kimberly McPartland(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-06-2016 The venue is gorgeous and for the most part the staff was wonderful and accommodating. We did have a few issues, some were fairly upsetting. One of our guests had a bad experience with Springfield Manor while attending our wedding. She went on their facebook site and provided a review of her experience. We were then contacted by the venue and asked who the individual was and were essentially asked to address the issue and the review. The situation was unfortunate but we ultimately felt we needed to support our guest; her review was in no way nasty or malicious it merely stated her experience. It was very disappointing that we were contacted, on our honeymoon, to address this matter; the venue should have addressed this with the unsatisfied customer directly. It also creates the uneasy feeling that guests that provide negative reviews are contacted and guilted into removing them.•ADVANCED FEE: there is a $300 fee if you book the venue more than a year in advance. Given the way the wedding industry is in this area it’s essentially impossible to not book your venue a year or more in advance. To us, this is nickel-and-diming. •HEAT: The temperature in the ballroom was UNBEARABLE! Guests, who would have otherwise been dancing, left to go sit outside to cool off; the heat emptied the dance floor. The guests were sweating, my hair and the bridesmaid’s hair all became a frizzy mess and fell out before dinner was over. You expect these potential issues when you book an outdoor venue – not when you have an indoor venue that has AC. Brian assured us, and even showed us, that the temperature was set as low as their AC unit would allow. Our wedding only had 160 guests, the ballroom is advertised to accommodate 299; I cannot imagine how hot the ballroom must get when it is filled to capacity. Their AC unit is clearly not equipped to cool a room of that size when it is has a party going on. I will also note that one of our guests said he had attended a wedding here a year before and it was also unbearably hot. •CATERER: you are required to use Carriage House Inn Catering, whom we had several issues with. See our review of Carriage House Inn.•VENDORS: you cannot have your vendors on property until noon as the manor house is an active bed and breakfast. This was specifically an issue for us; starting hair and makeup for 9 girls at noon for a 2pm ceremony was unrealistic. I asked if I could rent the bridal suite the night before the wedding so that I could have the hair and makeup artists come in earlier than noon – I was told that I was more than welcome to rent the suite but I still couldn’t have the hair and makeup artists come any earlier than noon.•B&B: The venue includes use of the bridal suite from noon-midnight. If you want to stay in the bridal suite the night of the wedding you have to pay the full cost for the room. In my opinion this again is nickel-and-diming, since you have access to the bridal suite till midnight they clearly are not going to be able to rent the suite out to another potential B&B guest. For convenience purposes my family chose to pay the additional cost so that my sister and her family could stay in the room. There were no pillow cases on the pillows, they were not provided with any towels, and due to a lack of communication amongst the staff, the Inn Keeper gave them a hard time, at MIDNIGHT, about a matter that had been previously discussed with another staff member. We were thrilled to receive so many compliments from our guests about the venue.\r\rWe used Springfield Manor for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. During the months leading up to our event, Brian could not have made the planning process any easier. He was always available to answer any questions we may of had and give advice that we used as a baseline to begin planning the event\r\rBrian's professionalism, thoroughness, and flexibility throughout the entire process helped assure us that the our wedding would go off without a hitch, which was a huge weight off our chests. Amy Benjamin(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-11-2015 We loved Springfield Manor Winery and Distillery for our wedding venue! We went with a Friday because they were offering deep discounts for the Fridays left in the year. We had our ceremony and reception inside the barn, and it was set up beautifully. A few minor things were not \"perfect,\" but overall the bride and groom didn't notice any imperfections with the entire evening. The caterer (they have an exclusive caterer with Carriage House Catering - amazing), and the coordinator is the \"day of\" planner. She was very attentive to both sets of parents. She didn't really talk to the bride and groom very much throughout the night, but she did check on us a few times and ask if we needed anything. The clean up and getting the wedding party out of the manor house was a bit crazy, as they had b&b guests and were concerned with our noise. They held a few items left behind until the next day and we easily picked them up. Overall this was a great venue, and we loved that the catering was part of the deal - that we didn't have to search for our own. The setting is picturesque and was even beautiful after most of the trees has fallen (November 13th). We definitely recommend checking out Springfield Manor! Reviewed on 02-12-2015
Katie Pukita(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-08-2015 Springfield Manor Winery & Distillery couldn’t have been a more perfect location for our wedding. We looked at a handful of venues in the Frederick/Thurmont area and also in Annapolis, but there was something about Springfield Manor that checked off the list for both my Husband and I. Right off the bat, Brian was so great to work with and so personable with the initial tour. Once we settled on a date, Brian and Loree couldn’t have been more responsive and helpful with all our questions. Jeannie at Carriage House was so responsive as well and great to work with throughout the entire process. Shirley was in charge of our day-of and was so on-top of things not only at our rehearsal, but also the entire wedding day. Shirley made sure that my Husband and I were taken care of the whole night. We chose the pergola for our ceremony and the ballroom for our reception and they both were perfect. We even had great enough weather that once the dancing started they opened up the doors and we had a great indoor/outdoor vibe going so guests who were outside playing corn hole, enjoying the cigar bar or hanging out at the patio could also hear the music, which is exactly what my Husband and I had hoped for. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding day and know that was in large part due to the amazing venue we picked. We would definitely recommend Springfield Manor to future brides and can’t wait to visit again! Reviewed on 01-09-2015
Jenna Whipp(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-08-2015 My husband and I used Springfield Manor as our venue and reception for our wedding last weekend. I will start with the PROS: Beautiful outdoor setting and ballroom. Very clean and modern. Easy to work with for the most part. CONS: For the price they do not include bride and groom overnight stay. No one is allowed to start decorating and bring stuff needed for the wedding until noon the day of. This was my biggest issue with Springfield, especially if you do not have your own wedding coordinator and have an earlier wedding. Ultimately, I would choose Springfield again but it would be wise to invest in your own coordinator. Reviewed on 01-09-2015
Laura Rittenhouse(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-04-2015 My wedding at Springfield Manor was an absolute dream. The venue is picturesque to say the least. Part historic Manor House, part elegant ballroom, part relaxed winery, all set at the foot of the beautiful Catoctin Mountains—this venue speaks for itself. We chose to get married in the pergola in front of the mountains, but there are multiple other beautiful options available. Brian runs a well-oiled machine between both Springfield Manor and Stone Manor, and in working with him I always felt confident that he would not let anything go amiss. Very responsive and professional. I often received emails with updates about the venue, as well as helpful information such as event guidelines, vendor recommendations, organizational spreadsheets, ballroom floorplans, and more. On the day of the wedding, he and Sherry went out of their way on more than one occasion to make sure that everything was in order with my vendors and that I was a happy bride. My guests continue to tell me how beautiful and fun the day was. I could not have been more thrilled with my choice of wedding venue. Reviewed on 09-05-2015
Leah MacDonald(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-09-2014 Springfield Manor is, hands down, the prettiest venue we saw in all of Frederick County. And in addition to that, the service Brian and Sherry provided was unsurpassed. They were attentive to our every question before the day, and our every need on the day. Any site coordinator who keeps my champagne filled is great in my book! Even guests were coming up to us to compliment the site and the efficiency with which Sherry (along with Jeannie and the catering staff from Carriage House, their caterer) ran things. I'm going to recommend Springfield Manor to every bride I know! Reviewed on 14-10-2014
