St. John’s Country Chapel is a wedding venue in Adair, IA. This charming local church held regular services for almost 100 years; when hard times forced its closure, the Schafer family quickly stepped in to rescue it from oblivion. They breathed new life into the property, and today, St. John’s Country Chapel has a 225-person capacity and provides the perfect setting for an intimate wedding celebration. You can have your ceremony in the chapel and your reception in a tent on the grounds; alternatively, you can have your reception at either the Schafer Century Barn or the Schafer Barn on the Hill, both of which are only a short distance away. Meet the St. John's Country Chapel Team
Susan Schafer (Owner) We own two barn wedding venues - the Century Barn and the Barn on the Hill - both of which are located in Adair, IA. This gorgeous church (serendipitously located between both barns) was no longer going to hold Sunday services, and we decided it would be the perfect spot for couples who want a beautiful, but more economical stand-alone venue with the church for the ceremony and a large tent for the reception. It also serves well for couples that want church wedding, but a barn reception at one of our barn venues.
