The SteamPlant Event Center is a stylish, urban wedding venue in downtown Salida, CO. Salida is surrounded by bountiful public lands and trails and attracts tourists who enjoy everything from horseback riding to flyfishing. The renovated 1887 steam power plant retains its architectural beauty while exuding a chic atmosphere. The cobblestone plaza, on the banks of the Arkansas River, is our most popular ceremony site. The urban SteamPlant façade provides an interesting contrast to a natural backdrop of rushing water and cottonwood trees. Whether you are looking for an intimate gathering space or a large room to host hundreds of guests, this venue could make for the perfect venue space for your special celebration. Couples can host an unforgettable wedding at the newly renovated space, which offers incredible views of the Arkansas River. This venue evokes feelings of elegance in a highly sophisticated atmosphere. The property boasts breathtaking surroundings where couples and their guests can celebrate the wedding of their dreams. The refurbished ballroom, with its century-old, exposed brick walls, natural hardwood floors, and 30-foot ceilings is the perfect canvas for couples to decorate. For dining and receptions, it seats up to 200 guests, has full banquet facilities, and overlooks our picturesque plaza alongside the river. On warm evenings, many cocktail hours and receptions extend onto the plaza for drinks, dining, and dancing under a canopy of stars. The grounds additionally include a 200-seat theater, several art galleries, and boutique convention space with fully equipped conference rooms. Each is linked by a cobblestone walkway that stretches to the banks of the river and is surrounded by stunning views of the Rocky Mountains. The SteamPlant Event Center offers a comprehensive package for couples celebrating their special day at this charming venue. The bundle includes set up and cleanup services, furniture rentals, ceremony rehearsals, and more. Signature drinks, liquors, and wines will be served by highly-trained bartenders. The SteamPlant is truly a beautiful venue, and Salida a wonderful town to get married in. Our decoration and flowers were pretty minimal, because the space itself is so lovely. That said, it was challenging to our plan our wedding remotely (from Denver). Our coordinator left two weeks before our wedding without alerting us, and without filling in the person who took her place. Our backup coordinator did the best she could, but it was definitely an added stress that we could have done without. Additionally, we had some serious AV problems. There were delays in our music walking down the aisle, the wrong song was played for the recessional, and the speaker inside was blown during the reception. Email and phone communications were also not very timely. While the space fit our vision beautifully, there were some problematic logistical snags that surprised us.

The Steamplant in Salida is a wonderful place to get married! Right in the middle of town and on the river! We made a weekend getaway out of it, with all of our family and friends. It was a blast. Toni was our wedding coordinator. She was so helpful with planning leading up to the day, was their for every step, and made sure everything went smooth the day of. If your looking for a place to get married in the mountains of Colorado, THIS is the place. Plus you don’t have to pay the big mountain resort prices.

Amazing venue and incredible staff. The location in downtown Salida is perfect so guests can walk there and then to bars after if they want to. The staff went out of their way to accommodate all of my requests and my mom and mother in-law's requests. Depending what you want to do this is more of a diy venue.

We had our wedding outside at the pavilion on August 31st and the reception was inside. The staff was very helpful and flexible with all of our requests. It was a beautiful and affordable venue that I would recommend to anyone!
