Stevenson Ridge Reviews
Julie Beasley(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-12-2019 I have so much love for Stevenson Ridge and all the amazing people that work there! My husband and I got married there in December 2019. The entire planning process was so easy with the help of everyone there. Although you have to use their catering for food and drink it was not overpriced and the food and service was incredible! They were able to for fill all my wishes for food, drinks, set up, and accommodations for our stay on the property. My entire wedding day everyone there made me feel like a princess. I didn’t have to lift a finger! I can’t thank everyone enough including Kellyn and Nikki for all there help and making my wedding day the most incredible day ever! Reviewed on 25-03-2020
Tiffany Spagnolo(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-11-2021 Stevenson Ridge was great! We had both our ceremony and reception at Stevenson Ridge. Throughout the whole planning process everyone was great. The food was great and the wedding went seamlessly. Reviewed on 14-06-2022
Katie Nadzom(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-10-2018 Where do I begin??!?! Stevenson Ridge was the last venue we toured. We immediately fell in love with the place. It had SO many options. Indoor & outdoor ceremony spots. BEAUTIFUL second location for Rehearsal dinners/post wedding brunches (which we did both). All the cabins on site made it SO easy for the bridal party & parents of both bride and groom to be on site the entire time. All of my guests said that my wedding was the BEST wedding they had ever been too. (of course because we know how to throw a party) but of course it had a LOT to do with the venue itself. I could go on forever about how gorgeous the venue is. But the most important part of the venue was my coordinator Elizabeth. Can we say she was literally perfect? Because, she was. As many times as I emailed/called her during my 1.5 year engagement, she ALWAYS answered me in a timely manner. She was seriously the best part of this venue. Also, when I saw my reception for the first time…ya’ll…. She literally made my dream come true. Lets not forget the kitchen chef’s. The food was to DIE FOR. All weekend long from the rehearsal dinner, multiple brunches, cocktail hour food & the dinner. Like come on, how does a venue have an onsite caterer taste THAT DARN GOOD. Anyway, I will stop rambling…This venue & the people who work for it, was the best decision I made when wedding planning.Love,The Nadzom’s Reviewed on 30-10-2018
Rachel G(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-10-2017 LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! It has absolutely beautiful scenery everywhere you look which allows for wonderful pictures! Not to mention the people that work there are incredible! I cannot say enough about our coordinator Elizabeth! She went above and beyond to make our day a success! They also have their own caterer and the food is delicious. If I had to do it all again I would make the same choice! Reviewed on 20-11-2017

Haley Parks(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-12-2016 We had both our ceremony and reception there. This venue was amazing. It was beautiful and the folks that work there were more than accommodating to what my husband and I wanted for our wedding. We worked with Bettina and she was so great! She responded to emails within 24 hours, if she was on vacation I could call their office and talk to someone right away. They were accommodating with the cabins and check-in times as well! They allowed us to bring any of our own decorations, they also had some there for rental. They had a food tasting before the event to pick our food and a wine tasting (in which we could bring friends, which was fun!) We ordered heavy hor d'oeuvres, instead of a full dinner, and it was more than enough food for everyone the entire night. Beautiful venue, great service! Reviewed on 30-01-2017
Carolyn Thombs(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-09-2016 Elizabeth and Bettina are absolute superstars! Stevenson Ridge is such a gorgeous venue that just looking at is you are hooked ,but having great service at the venue really makes it the perfect place for your wedding or event! I am so glad we chose them for both our ceremony and reception! And staying in the Riddick house made everything so convenient! Absolutely love them and hope to use them in the future for any little get-aways at their gorgeous cabins or even for an event! Reviewed on 31-10-2016

Michelle Congdon(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-09-2015 I recently was married at Stevenson Ridge and cannot say enough amazing things about the location and staff. I looked at numerous venues and fell in love with the lodge at Stevenson Ridge instantly. After meeting with Elizabeth and the entire staff I knew this was the venue for me. Choosing Stevenson Ridge was the best decision I made while wedding planning. Elizabeth is simply amazing and I could not have gotten through the wedding without her planning and coordinating expertise. The chef created the most perfect and delicious menu for our wedding and all of our guests raved about the food!! Our wedding day was flawless and amazing and I know I owe all of the thanks to Elizabeth and the entire staff at Stevenson Ridge. Miranda Hill(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-08-2015 This place is gorgeous! The food, the drinks, the employees, the cute dog living on the grounds... it was a truly pleasing experience to work with the Stevenson Ridge staff and to host my reception there. The grounds are beautiful. I gave them 4/5 stars because they only complaints the guests had were that they did not serve enough bread and refused to refill the bread baskets, also the establishment and staff seemed very overwhelmed with served appetizers during the happy hour, some guests did not even know there were any. As the bride, I noticed nothing, this is simply what I heard from a few people. I will hold future gatherings at Stevenson Ridge. Reviewed on 10-09-2015

Jennifer set up our initial meeting. She was courteous, friendly, professional. As I continued through the planning, Jennifer had vendor recommendations that matched my budget and my style. Elizabeth was our wedding day coordinator. She was amazing! She was calm, professional and took care of every single detail. julene (bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-10-2013 Easy as pie! All of the coordinators were easy to reach and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. They want you to hire a day of coordinator, but will provide one if you don't have one. \rThey were very unobtrusive on the wedding day, they let us know they were there to help but didn't get in the way. We wanted a venue that supplied everything and they were a huge help! Set up and breakdown was included, and we were allowed to hire an outside caterer. Reviewed on 21-11-2013
Kate Thomas(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-10-2013 When we first saw Stevenson Ridge, we loved the buildings, the story, and the setting. We quickly moved to signing a contract for our wedding date. \r\rAnd then over the next 15 months, Elizabeth was an ideal contact for helping us plan things from afar (we live in CA!). She answered all of our questions quickly and thoroughly, and I felt totally confident that the venue part of our wedding would work perfectly. We rented some additional linens from the venue and that was easy and painless as well. \r\rOn the wedding day - everything was great. We rented some additional cabins for getting ready and photos, and I'm so glad we did that. This is truly a unique and beautiful setting for a wedding. I think Fall is the best time to see Stevenson Ridge. I can't wait to see our photos!! Reviewed on 14-11-2013
Katie Sondeen(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-10-2013 I just got married on October 6, and I honestly cannot say enough about how wonderful our experience was working with Stevenson Ridge!!!\r\rI know that $$ is a taboo subject when it comes to posting about weddings, but it's what most people always want to know and cannot easily find out, so I'm going to give you the scoop!\r\rWe started our wedding planning adventure looking at small to mid size venues that would be on the less expensive side. After visiting parks and historical sites and doing our research, we settled on Stevenson Ridge because even though the price is a little higher (but still reasonable for the area), the venue is beyond beautiful!\r\rOur ceremony was outside in front of the pond, and we had our reception (a few shy of 100 guests) in the lodge. We decided to opt for the day-of coordination package, and could not have been happier with the quality of service and professionalism we received. It was by far, the BEST money we spent on our wedding! Both Jennifer and Elizabeth are easy to work with; they always responded to my emails promptly and never made me feel like my questions were unimportant.\r\rSome tips and recommendations for anyone considering Stevenson Ridge:\r\r*Get one of their coordination packages, at least the day-of! It will allow you to just relax and enjoy the day. Jennifer took care of EVERYTHING for us! It is worth every penny!\r\r*If you're trying for a budget wedding in the greater NOVA area, don't immediately rule out Stevenson Ridge. It seems expensive at first, until you start adding up the costs that would be associated with all of the \"extras\" needed for a venue such as a public park...tents, chairs, tables, portable restrooms, etc. Stevenson Ridge is actually quite reasonable, and it's SO MUCH EASIER to work with a venue that includes tables and chairs as a part of both the ceremony and reception rental fees. They also have other extras available for rental that would be easy to add on if you wanted to. Go for a Friday or Sunday date if you want a little break in price!\r\r*Look into renting a cabin for the groom/groomsmen to get ready in. We didn't want the added expense, and we were fine without it, but it would have been a bit easier if we had rented one.\r\r*Stevenson Ridge is already a beautiful mix of rustic and modern decor. In my opinion, you don't need to go crazy with the centerpieces and other decorations. This helps cut costs as well!\r\r*Go for the sparkler exit. It's a great photo op and a fun finish to a beautiful day :)\r\rPlanning a wedding all depends on what your personal priorities are. Stevenson Ridge is unique in that I can see it working for couples who have few financial obstacles AND for couples like us, who had a somewhat limited budget. We did not go into debt for our wedding!\r\rI'm a very organized person, and I suppose that's a part of the reason our wedding day went so smoothly, but I gladly give 99% of the credit to Jennifer and Elizabeth. They are fantastic! Our wedding day truly was our own version of a fairytale. Reviewed on 05-11-2013
Cassie Collins(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-08-2013 This was my reception site, as my husband and I were married in a church in Lignum Va. Working with Elizabeth and Jennifer was easy and efficient. I appreciated how they took the time I needed and I had access at multiple occasions to come and plan with family members. They even allowed me to come the day before and do some setting up of the room. The area is gorgeous and my guests are still commenting on how beautiful it all was. It also meant a lot that Elizabeth came to see me at the reception and was so sweet, making me feel that I was the prettiest bride ever! Reviewed on 16-10-2013
Carolyn Harms(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-06-2013 What can I say about Stevenson Ridge? Well, they have an extremely friendly staff who will work with you around your scheduling needs, they were fairly priced for the use of the outside ceremony and the inside lodge for the reception, they took care of every little detail, we had several meetings where they gave me ideas too as far as the wedding and rehersal.... They are absolutely amazing. And we spent our wedding night in one of their little houses and enjoyed every bit of it. Definitely worth every minute to at least check it out for any special celebration! Reviewed on 11-07-2013

Melissa Chenault(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-07-2012 The venue was beautiful, the staff was wonderful, but what I liked most initially is everything as available on site- no renting chairs or tables. Meghan Thompson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-05-2012 Stevenson Ridge was a beautiful location for us to get married! We got married outside in front of the pond (under the pergola). The huge trees kept our guests shaded and cool. We could not have asked for a prettier day! And, having the option to move it inside if need be was key! They have a beautiful part of the Lodge that can serve as a chapel. The grounds provide a space for beautiful pictures! It can be an expensive venue, however. The basic rental package (at least when we singed) covered beautiful white chairs outside, and beautiful tables and chairs inside (some places charge you extra for this). They have a lot of rental items that you can browse through, but we found a cost savings in purchasing our own, sometimes I thought for the price that we paid we could have at least gotten some items \"on the house\ Reviewed on 02-07-2012
Krystle Galyen(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-09-2011 This place is absolutely gorgeous!! It's a small bed and breakfast type place in a secluded area of Spotsylvania County. My husband and I had an outdoor ceremony by the pond and the reception was held inside their newly built Lodge. What I really liked (besides the scenary) was that we were able to stay in one of the restored antique buildings that they have. My only concern was the price because we were trying to have a budget wedding, but it was so worth it! I would definitely recommend this place to other couples. We even plan on coming back to stay just for a weekend getaway. Reviewed on 29-09-2011
