Stillwater Stables is a 60-acre horse farm and wedding venue that's nestled in an old-growth forest on a private lake in Ortonville, MI. Newly constructed in 2022, we offer an indoor event space above the horse stables, plus an array of options for tented ceremonies and receptions outdoors, and overnight accommodations for your wedding party and guests. For Parties 50 and Less: The Pony Up Loft & Lounge The Pony Up is our indoor event space, which is located above the horse stables. The space is cozy with cathedral ceilings and can be configured for a variety of activities: bridal lounge, after-party, brunch, reception, or rehearsal dinner. The modern space is fully equipped with: WIFI Full bathroom​ Wood burning fireplace Wet bar and serving station ​ Barware, glasses, silverware Heating and air conditioning Onsite, experienced management Vintage China place settings and serving dishes Bluetooth sound system with microphone Soft seating or banquet seating Dishwasher, ice maker, wine cooler, beverage cooler ​Tables and chairs for a variety of room configurations: lounge, rectangle, rounds, cocktail​ For parties of up to 75 guests: The Clover Lawn For barrier-free celebrations and for parties larger than 50 people, your reception will take place in a tent on The Clover Lawn. The Cover Lawn is right next to the stables and out in front of our Cabin 4. With this configuration, guests use the Pony Up as an additional lounge, or as a staging area for the bridal party. Meanwhile, Cabin 4 works as a place for bar and catering set-ups and it also has a generous dressing area. Plus it's also an actual guest cabin for after the dust settles (it sleeps 4 and has a private hot tub)! Overnight Accommodations Recently featured on HGTV's "Tiny Homes" series, our four upcycled shipping containers have been converted into modern and luxurious guest cabins. Each with a queen bed and a sleeper sofa, these fully equipped, high-tech "tiny homes" sleep four people each and have spa-like amenities, such as hotel sheets and robes, heated towel bars, fast WiFi, and private hot tubs. Also included is our restored, vintage "Scamp" camper for a darling additional bedroom and kitchenette or a unique place for photos or staging cocktails. About The Land This woodsy piece of land was settled over 175 years ago, and your dedicated hosts live on-site, in the original log cabin. The property is conveniently located off 1-75 but it will feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. Premium space for ceremonies and party tents are offered throughout the property. Guests love the unexpected encounters with the horses and other wildlife.
