Stokesay Castle is a wedding venue located in Reading, PA. This historic property was established in the 13th century and is a truly remarkable setting to host a milestone celebration. The experienced team at the castle can facilitate both extravagant soirees and intimate gatherings with ease, offering couples excellent service to suit their special event. At Stokesay Castle, there are a number of options to choose from for your wedding ceremony and reception. For example, you and your beloved can opt to exchange vows on the venue’s manicured lawns, with the castle’s surrounding woodland areas providing a picturesque backdrop. After the ceremony, you and your guests can proceed to the castle’s elegant Royal Terrace to enjoy a lavish cocktail reception. The property’s spacious Royal Ballroom is a perfect location for dinner and dancing as the evening progresses, comfortably accommodating up to 450 guests. The ballroom features a custom hardwood dance floor and vintage lighting fixtures to enhance the romantic mood. The Lord’s Ballroom is a more intimate setting, better suited to smaller gatherings and facilitating up to 55 people. Plush furnishings in addition to a decorative fireplace complete this space, offering a warm and inviting setting to celebrate your love. Stylish get-ready rooms are also provided, providing a comfortable location for you and your wedding party to relax before and after the ceremony. There are several services available for couples wishing to celebrate their special day at the castle. The team of expert coordinators can provide wedding packages designed to suit many chosen themes and budgets. Depending on the package, services included range from a coordinated rehearsal and a complimentary tasting for up to six people, to day-of coordination. Included in each package is a number of event rental items such as tables, chairs, and linens. The team can also provide outside vendor assistance throughout the planning process and will also manage event setup and teardown on the big day. Talented chef Willie Brockinton and his culinary team at Stokesay Castle offer a range of delicious menu options, and specific dietary requirements are also accommodated. Catering options include buffet and family-style dining, with plated options also available. Professional waitstaff will be on hand to serve tasty hors d’oeuvres during the event’s cocktail reception. A wide selection of beverages are available from the full-service bar, such as premium liquor, house wines, and signature cocktails. For your convenience, the castle also offers ample parking facilities and wheelchair access.

When we found a castle nestled in the woods of Reading, PA, we knew this was the place for us. The castle was gorgeous and unique, and the outdoor ceremony space was beautiful. Everything was on site and in one package; the getting-ready rooms, the ceremony space, the cocktail hour, the reception space, the food, and the drinks were all provided by Stokesay. They even had the option of serving us food in our getting-ready rooms. Working with Jess Tremblay, one of the coordinators at Stokesay, was a breeze, and her experience was absolutely appreciated as we drew closer to our wedding day. She was extremely responsive and always had quick answers to our questions. Unfortunately, the weather required us to have our ceremony indoors, but Jess and the Stokesay team transitioned smoothly and without any work required from us. They worked well with our vendors and we couldn't ask for anything more. The food by Chef Willie was amazing and the bar and bartenders were great as well. Our cake was custom made by Sharon and was delicious! Every member of the staff seemed dedicated to making sure our day went off without a hitch. We couldn't be more grateful for Jess and the team at Stokesay for their work, and we will always have a special place in our hearts for that castle in the woods.

When we found a castle nestled in the woods of Reading, PA, we knew this was the place for us. The castle was gorgeous and unique, and the outdoor ceremony space was beautiful. Everything was on site and in one package; the getting-ready rooms, the ceremony space, the cocktail hour, the reception space, the food, and the drinks were all provided by Stokesay. They even had the option of serving us food in our getting-ready rooms. Working with Jess Tremblay, one of the coordinators at Stokesay, was a breeze, and her experience was absolutely appreciated as we drew closer to our wedding day. She was extremely responsive and always had quick answers to our questions. Unfortunately, the weather required us to have our ceremony indoors, but Jess and the Stokesay team transitioned smoothly and without any work required from us. They worked well with our vendors and we couldn't ask for anything more. The food by Chef Willie was amazing and the bar and bartenders were great as well. Kelsie was so great to work with! She started at Stokesay midway through us planning our wedding there and she picked up where the previous coordinator left off. She was responsive and able to answer all of our millions of questions and the day of the wedding she surpassed our expectations! She did so much more for us with setting up and running the day than we anticipated and it was such a nice treat to be able to relax more the morning of. Stokesay Castle and Jessica were absolutely amazing. The venue was perfect for our Til Death Do Us Part theme. This was the only venue we toured, and after completing our tour we immediately signed our contract and booked them. I am originally from the Berks County area and have heard of this venue being used for school proms, but I have never been until now. The castle has many amazingphoto ops and natural charm. We got married in the garden and had our reception in the ballroom. The suites for the bride and groom and their parties to get ready in are very spacious. They also partner with the DoubleTree Hilton nearby for shuttle services for you and your guests which is convenient. Jessica was a huge help from start to finish. She’s personable and friendly and communicated thoroughly throughout the entire planning process and was super helpful in answering any questions we had (which felt like a lot sometimes). She made us an outline for the day which made me feel a lot less stressed so I could understand how everything would play out. We utilized her list ofpreferred vendors and booked someone from each category- this made the search very easy for us and saved us lots of time. They made clean up very easy by boxing everything up for us to pick up the next morning. My family’s only complaint was the staff during our rehearsal dinner in the wine cellar. Service was slow and some of the food was cold. But I still have to give this place and Jessica 5 stars. This is the perfect venue for a fairytale wedding, and our day couldn’t have been more perfect. We owe a lot to Jess!! She is the best and really makes the Castle the best choice for your wedding venue.

I wasn’t sure where to begin, but Jessica and Luis lead me in the right direction and stayed in constant contact to keep me updated and informed up until my actual wedding day. Thank you so much to Eve for taking such good care of me in the Princess Suite on the day of my wedding. You are truly the best! ❤️ From Stokesay’s preferred vendor list, I used Indigo Blooms for the beautiful drapery and floral decorations, and Sean Shipper of Party Express DJ’s who provided a great variety of musical entertainment for all of our guests to enjoy! Amazing Wedding Venue, we just had our wedding there over the past weekend and Alexis was our go to and she is on point!! We love you, Alexis!!! Everything went off without a hitch and we had an absolute blast! Our Tea Ceremony was earlier in the day and was perfect as well. All the food was amazing, people are still talking about how delicious the risotto bar was and the sea bass, and it now Wednesday!! Decor was great and my vision just came to life. if there were any issues, i didn't even know. My husband and I were fed and given drinks and everything was taken care of for us, there was no hassle. I was so happy with using Stokesay's Castle, we will definitely, be back for dinner soon, and will plan another event again! Everything was PERFECT!!!!

Just for reference, we toured almost 15 venues before deciding on Stokesay. It was very important to us that we really loved the people that we would be working with on our wedding day, as much as the venue itself. The castle was beautiful and the staff was wonderful. We absolutely love Alexis. She was amazing. We would definitely recommend this venue to anyone looking for a lovely place to get married. They are reasonably priced too!

My husband and I were just married at the castle on 11/17. We cannot say enough about how wonderful this venue was to us. After the nasty snow storm, we had to move the reception indoors. And it was as glamorous as ever! Alexis and her team were amazing. She made sure that everything was perfect and it was. We just had my daughter's wedding at Stokesay Castle on 11/17/18. WOW is all we can say!!!! From the first contact & visit, to the end of the wedding night, everything and everyone was awesome!!! Alexis was so helpful in our planning. She gave us many good ideas & suggestions, but didn't push her opinions. It was definitely all about the bride & groom!! All e-mails & phone calls were returned and handled promptly pre wedding. On the wedding day, everything from the time we arrived at the castle to have the girls hair done, to having to switch from outside ceremony to inside because of snow, to the entire reception, it was the day my daughter dreamed of. She was a princess in her castle. Becky, our server while in the brides rooms was so sweet and made sure we had everything we needed. The bartenders were friendly and on the ball as were all of the servers for the evening. The food was delicious and we had so many compliments. The bartender said to me near the end of the evening, \" You look like you are having a great time.\" I said I am, because I don't have to worry about a thing!!! If you want an elegant, fun place to have a reception, this is the place!!! Thank you again to all of you!!!

Alexis, the wedding coordinator, was so helpful throughout the entire process and answered all my (many) emails quickly! Alexis, the wedding coordinator, was so helpful throughout the entire process and answered all my (many) emails quickly! Let me just say, the staff at Stokesay were absolutely amazing. Emily was an incredible planner and she was so attentive and responsive throughout the process to ensure that everything was exactly how we wanted it. I had no stress at all going into the day because I knew that Stokesay would follow through on everything we had planned, which they did. The food was also incredible- we had over 200 people and the food came out on time and tasted just like it did when we had our tasting- I got more compliments than I could count on how great the food was!

As a professional, full time Disc Jockey, I have been to hundreds of venues over my 18 year career. When I got engaged, I mentioned to my fiance that there were only a handful of venues that I would really consider for my wedding. Luckily, she trusted my judgement and after looking at a few venues, Stokesay castle was the wedding venue we chose. We could not be happier. Our team of Emily and Alissa, who coordinate weddings, did an amazing job along with Jordan our banquet captain. Everyone was friendly and fun throughout the planning process and listened to some our unique yet workable ideas such as a late night boneless buffalo wing bar which I personally wanted yet never experienced at a wedding. Another point worth mentioning is that small details are not overlooked at this venue. My one concern was that my pasta bar may take extra time and drag dinner out and that I may be waiting in line a long time for food. As soon as the toasts and blessing were finished, my wife and I were immediately asked what we wanted on our pasta and the order was put in for us so we could enjoy time together without standing in line. I thought this was a great touch that I didn't even think of. I also enjoyed the flexibility as our DJs had the party rocking and we needed more time. The staff gave me plenty of options for the bar to go overtime and ways to fit my budget. This allowed us to enjoy the party for another hour. Post wedding, our guests would not stop complimenting the dinner service; especially the pasta station and wing bar. While I did not have my ceremony here, there is a beautiful area for that too. In closing, I would not have changed a thing and even requested the names of the entire staff who worked my wedding to thank them. Big shout out to Terri, Kurt, Amy, Joy, Jay, Jillian and Ian. Thanks for making our day a day we will always remember!

As a professional, full time Disc Jockey, I have been to hundreds of venues over my 18 year career. When I got engaged, I mentioned to my fiance that there were only a handful of venues that I would really consider for my wedding. Luckily, she trusted my judgement and after looking at a few venues, Stokesay castle was the wedding venue we chose. We could not be happier. Our team of Emily and Alissa, who coordinate weddings, did an amazing job along with Jordan our banquet captain. Everyone was friendly and fun throughout the planning process and listened to some our unique yet workable ideas such as a late night boneless buffalo wing bar which I personally wanted yet never experienced at a wedding. Another point worth mentioning is that small details are not overlooked at this venue. And most of all we were so happy with Emily the event coordinator. She's quick to respond and had an answer for every concern. The entire day ran smoothly, and she was there every step of the way from our booking of the venue to the ceremony. I can not praise her enough. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. It was a stress free day and the most amazing day of my life. I would highly recommend this Venue to anyone. I seriously can not say enough about how happy we were! :)

The Castle is beautiful and the wedding garden was the perfect place for our outside ceremony! Our day couldn't have gone any better, it was truly perfect in every way. Stokesay was extremely accommodating and the food was top notch! Our guests were wowed by the beauty of the castle and the delicious food. Truly a perfect experience. The staff was so helpful and friendly - particularly Emily Kurz, who is the Wedding Coordinator. She went completely above and beyond to make our wedding the perfect day. She was exceptionally organized and did an amazing job with our decorations. Not to mention that she is so friendly and basically one of the nicest people you could meet. All of our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was. Many of them said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. It was the perfect combination of time spent outdoors and indoors. My bridal party and I got ready (hair, makeup, and dress) in the bridal suite and it was perfect. There was a very friendly server bringing us mimosas and snacks all morning as we prepped. My husband and his groomsmen rented the Board room, and he said it was equally awesome. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone.

It is an amazing location and we loved going to the pub for dinner and drinks, and we were always intrigued by the ballroom and checked out the parties going on when we were there. When we got engaged, Stokesay was one of the top venues on our lists because we both thought it was perfect. When we toured the venue with Lauren, she was thorough, detailed, and really helped us create a visual in our minds of the perfect wedding. The date we wanted was available and we were pretty much sold at that point. \rThroughout the entire planning process, which was just under six months, Lauren and Stephanie were extremely helpful, thorough, accommodating, and responsive. It is apparent that they are experts at what they do: they shared wonderful ideas & suggestions and were very receptive to whatever thoughts we had throughout the process...and on top of that, they couldn't have been nicer. We were thrilled with using the venue for our rehearsal dinner, as well. It really set the tone for those people closest to us, and helped build the excitement even before the wedding day.\rOur wedding day was nothing short of perfect. As \"cutesy\" as that may sound, that is the only word that fits. The staff was so helpful and checked on us consistently to make sure everyone was doing okay and to see if we needed anything. They worked so well with all of the vendors, all of whom also had great things to say about Stokesay, too. We are really incredibly lucky that this beautiful venue was available for us on the day we had chosen. \rWe wound up leaving some things at Stokesay accidentally and they followed up with us continuously to make sure that we were available to pick everything up - and when we got there, they took time to talk to us, connect with us, and hear our thoughts about our special day.\rWe will absolutely go back to Stokesay for future celebrations and dinners and it will always hold a special place in my heart.\r

I just got married at Stokesay Castle and it was an absolutely incredible day! I worked with their wedding coordinator, Lauren, for over a year and she put all of our concerns at ease and solved all of our problems from day one. On the day of, everything went off without a hitch. We got our hair and makeup done in the bridal suite upstairs and were immediately taken care of with champagne, coffee, fruit and cheese all morning. The boys were across the venue in the grooms suite enjoying some beer, scotch and snacks. We had an indoor ceremony that went perfectly, and was well coordinated by the staff. Afterwards we enjoyed our cocktail hour and dinner, and everything was delicious. Our cupcakes were incredible. We gave the pastry chef the loose instructions of \"cherry blossoms\" and he ran with it. Our cupcakes each featured branches and hand-painted cherry blossoms. They were so beautiful. We were so well taken care of and everything was perfect. I can't recommend this venue enough!

We held our wedding at Stokesay, and overall, it was a fantastic experience.\r\rFirst things first - the restaurant is beautiful. It's modeled after an actual castle in England, and does a very good job of simulating the experience. The décor, the giant carved knight, everything gives off a particular medieval, classy vibe that you can't help but enjoy.\r\rI'll get right down to the important part - the food. Stokesay has some of the best food you'll ever eat in a restaurant. During our planning phase we had the opportunity to try the majority of their menu items..literally every one of them was good. You can't go wrong - but the steaks were my choice, either the filet mignon or the shoulder filet. Both were excellent, as were all the sides that went with them. I can't possibly give more praise to the chefs.\r\rAs far as the wedding goes - most everything went smoothly. Our wedding was the weekend after Hurricane Sandy - luckily, Stokesay had no issues and we were fully up and running. The event director, Stephanie Tusky, is a joy to work with. Very friendly and helpful, which is great during a time as stressful as wedding planning (with the added bonus of a hurricane tossed in). Our wedding coordinator changed in the midst of our planning process; this was not ideal. However, through coordination with Larissa and Stephanie, ultimately we were able to get all of the kinks worked out, and they were willing to be more flexible than normal thanks to the circumstances, which we certainly appreciated.\r\rAll in all, Stokesay is a great place, whether you're looking for a fancy dinner, drinks at the Knights Pub, or a wedding venue. An easy five stars.

The staff at Stokesay does everything possible to make your day special. We had a pre-wedding tasting of our meals and signature drinks. Stokesay Castle was the PERFECT place for a wedding. I really can't say enough about how special our day was largely due to Stokesay. From the planning process to that very day, their coordinating staff is with you every step to answer questions, provide insight, and keep everyone up-to-date and on schedule. The staff really goes above and beyond what I could have imagined and always friendly. I felt very confident and prepared the day of thanks to Larissa and Stephanie that honestly the day of I was able to relax and enjoy the moment! Guests raved about how beautiful the venue is and the food from appetizer to entree was amazing. I really can't say enough good things. The day of the guy's have a really awesome room with a flat screen, beer, appetizers called the Board Room to get ready in. The girls have the Princess suite which is a spacious three room (includes own bathroom) suite that is perfect to relax in before ceremony time (if you get married on site). They kept the cheese, fruit, crackers, wine, champagne, and relaxation tea coming! We got married outside on a beautiful day but the inside option we would have been happy with, too. The bar is huge at the reception all and they make a really cool social area with high tops if you so choose. They let you design your own reception layout and are very flexible with table seating numbers which is really helpful when doing your charts. We even loved it there so much we had our rehearsal dinner in their wine cellar which holds 40 people. You really can't go wrong. If you want a beautiful, well kept venue, fun, friendly, awesome people, and great food you really won't be disappointed.

The girls have the Princess suite which is a spacious three room (includes own bathroom) suite that is perfect to relax in before ceremony time (if you get married on site). They kept the cheese, fruit, crackers, wine, champagne, and relaxation tea coming! We got married outside on a beautiful day but the inside option we would have been happy with, too. The bar is huge at the reception all and they make a really cool social area with high tops if you so choose. They let you design your own reception layout and are very flexible with table seating numbers which is really helpful when doing your charts. We even loved it there so much we had our rehearsal dinner in their wine cellar which holds 40 people. You really can't go wrong. If you want a beautiful, well kept venue, fun, friendly, awesome people, and great food you really won't be disappointed.

Our wedding was perfect. WE had our ceremony outside and our reception in the ballroom. Larissa was so helpful the from begining to the end. She went above and beyond to make sure everything went well. The venue was absolutely beatiful and the food was great. The guest had such a great time, they rave about the location and the food. Our wedding was perfect. WE had our ceremony outside and our reception in the ballroom. Larissa was so helpful the from begining to the end. She went above and beyond to make sure everything went well. The venue was absolutely beatiful and the food was great. The guest had such a great time, they rave about the location and the food. I originally wanted a wedding in a castle, but being in Central PA, there aren't many around. We looked at this place, and it is VERY expensive. If we would have rented both their King and Queen Ballrooms together, and bought back in 2010, they basically automatically charge you $15,000. King's Ballroom by itself is $8,000, Queen's Ballroom is $7,000, so you can cut it down that way, but they separate the 2 with those folding room separators. So, the way they do it is you must buy the amount of food that is at least whatever the room you are renting is worth. So as an example, even if you only had to buy $8,000 worth of catering from them, they will charge you the difference of $7,000 to make up the $15,000. I don't think that included the money you spent on alcohol that night, but I could be wrong.

Up until the weekend of the wedding, everything seemed to be perfect with stokesay. I was extremely dissapointed in the wedding coordinator. My limo pulled up to the front door and she was there to greet us, with less then a smile! I was told by a waitress that I was not allowed to go up to the bridal suite at that moment becaus she was \"still serving\". The coordinator was supposed to be my \"go to girl\" for everything, however I could never find her. And when she was around, she seemed miserable. The wait staff was extremely unprofessional (fighting back and forth between each other in front of guests). My food was served to my husband and I (and we weren't even seated because he was helping me along with my mom to fix my veil and bustle, which the wedding coordinator should have been helping me with). Needless to say, our food ended up being cold. Although it was cold, the food was in fact DELICIOUS! I will give them that one round of applause. The chef is amazing. All around from coctail hour to dinner, everyone raved about the food. We were promised a particular drink to be on hand for my grandmother, and it wasn't there. It just seemed like everything that should have run so smoothly, went so wrong! We were extremely dissapointed. This is a beautiful venue with delicious food, with such unprofessional staff.

I can't say enough good things about the Castle! From the beauty of the venue, to the food, and most especially the staff - this place is exquisite!!! In particular the staff is phenomenal. The sales director, Laura, and the manager, Luis, are genuinely nice people who want to make your day special. Not only were my husband and I treated with the utmost respect and sincerity, but every guest was as well. Many of my guest sought us out to let us know how great the staff was. We didn't lift a finger all day. They were extremely willing to accommodate any request we made. They are easy to work with from start to finish. They are true professionals. The food was so delicious! Every guest commented on the meal being the best they'd ever had at a wedding. There are so many choices at each price level, no matter what your budget. We had a small budget and never once did we feel like we got the 'cheap' package. We felt like a King and Queen at The Castle!!!
