Our wedding day was nothing short of magic. Ashley and her team host a ton of weddings and it shows. They were dialed-in and there was no stress or bustling about. The venue, on first glance, seems humble, but when everything was pulled together it was such a stunning setting. I was worried about the noise from the road when I first saw the space, but I can assure you it wasn’t noticed at all on wedding day. The rooms are simple but serve the purpose of having your guests stay onsite and the cabins were really sweet and fun for the wedding party. The best part was getting to ride up the mountain side in an ATV and take pictures at the top of the mountain. It was STUNNING. Everything from the ceremony site, the cocktail hour and the reception area just worked perfectly. We loved the flow of it. We loved the pond and getting married right by the mountain side. Ashley was really sweet to work with and just a nice human being overall. Stone Mountain is the right place for a couple who doesn’t care about the flashiness of some other more expensive venues, but knows that they can create a stunning wedding using the beauty of the surroundings. If you’re a Colorado bride at heart, then this venue is going to be a great fit — outdoors, a little funky, with so much heart. Perfect for us. Reviewed on 19-06-2023

We were lucky enough to have our wedding venue at Stone Mountain. Not only was this the most beautiful venue with breathtaking views, the team was fantastic! We got married in October and had the most wonderful weather. The colors were perfect both at the wedding site and for our first look up on the ridge line. Ashley and the Stone Mountain team were FANTASTIC to work with. They truly made our day special. They are down to earth, helpful and just a fun group to work with. I was impressed by the level of service they provide and even went out of their way to ensure everything ran smoothly. In addition to an amazing team and a beautiful venue, we loved that many of our guests could stay on sight at the lodge and cabins. The accommodations were perfect and made for such an easy day for our wedding. Extra bonus point, pups are allowed to stay on site and be party of the wedding. Raelynn Olson(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-08-2022 The venue is absolutely gorgeous and our wedding turned out very beautiful but there were a things that we were very disappointed in. Communication at first was great until we got closer to the wedding and we would send multiple emails that would take about a month to get a response to. My family also had ALOT of problems booking rooms. My parents called and left voicemails 6 times and never got a call in return. I had about 6 different people call and tell me they are disappointed they couldn’t book a room and had to go elsewhere because they were told the all the rooms were entirely booked up , yet when we asked our coordinator in person, she said they had almost all of the rooms available. We were also not told that the pond would be empty in August which was a big shock to us showing up to our wedding day, because the beautiful pond was our biggest selling point and we had a lot of plans for photos in front of it. Lastly, the day of the wedding itself, we had trouble finding the coordinator anywhere a few hours into the wedding (we had a lot of questions) and another woman told us she had left and now she was in charge, but when we asked her questions she would just say “I don’t know”. I appreciated how they embraced our not-so traditional ideas for the wedding and helped us put them into action. The preferred vendors we went with were incredible - particularly Kathryn Kim Photography and The Butcher and The Blonde food truck. Saydee Hopkins(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-10-2017 Last year, I chose Stone Mountain Lodge as the venue for my wedding. It is a beautiful location, there is lodging on sight, and it seems perfect for the outdoor wedding I was looking for. While the venue itself is very nice, the staff is far from it. It started off with them singing me up for the wrong wedding package; one of the main reasons I chose this venue was for the built in lodging. They signed me up for the wedding package that was venue only with a very vague contract (which I will admit I should’ve asked for some clarity but when you are planning a wedding by yourself you forgot some of the small details). I didn’t notice their mistake until about 8 months from my wedding but thought, “Oh eight months out should be more than enough time to remedy the situation since this was their fault to begin with.” Boy was I wrong. They fought me tooth and nail, refusing to help me, telling me the rooms were already booked and it was too late. I hung up the phone hysterically crying, how could someone be so cold? At the time, only 2 of the cabins were booked, I asked if they could be asked to move to the rooms on premise but they absolutely refused. No matter how many times I explained it was not my fault that they set me up with the wrong package, they just continued to fight me. I finally gave up, they gave me one room for free as penance. I didn’t want anything for free, I just wanted the cabins I was promised when I first set the date for my wedding, even offered to pay full price. I wish I could say the saga ended there.... It did not. The wedding planner on site had been nothing but rude to me leading up to the wedding and same goes for the day of the rehearsal. She was entirely uninvolved in every aspect. The day of the wedding, I come to find out she ordered the WRONG COLOR TABELCLOTHS. When I went to find her to ask her what had happened, she shrugged and basically said shit happens. No apology, no offer for a refund, nothing. All the while they are kicking us out of the room we were under the impression we had for the full day while we are trying to get ready. When I sent them the invoice after my wedding to point out that they had ordered me the wrong tablecloths and that I expected to be reimbursed they refused. They told me since I used the tablecloths I had to pay for them. What other choice did I have? She ordered me the wrong color, I didn’t find out until the day of my wedding, and I am just supposed to go with out tablecloths? In a word, Incompitent. In a few words, completely lacking of any sort of compassion, reason, and hospitality. This is the worst experience I have ever had and it just about ruined my wedding day. Never, ever would I suggest this garbage establishment to anyone, not even my worst enemy. Please stere clear of Stone Mountain Lodge, the price and location may be tempting, but I can promise you that dealing with the incompitent staff is not worth it. Reviewed on 22-01-2019

From the start, Casey went above and beyond our expectations. She put so much though and effort into making our day run seamlessly - she put together a day-of timeline for us, made multiple different layouts for the venue when I changed my mind every couple days, was proactive in planning things I never thought of, coordinated layouts and timelines with other vendors, and was just so awesome to work with throughout the whole process. We could tell from the start that she loves what she does and would work hard to make our vision a reality (and she did!). a member (bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-09-2017 I booked this venue last year in 2015 when it was under different management. Our wedding is scheduled for August, 2016 and we were really excited to have our wedding there. Now we're just dreading it. In March of 2016 I was informed that the business had been sold and was under different management. Thus far new management has been terrible. There is little to no communication. No one returns emails or phone calls. The only time I get a response is when the event planner needs something and if I try asking her anything other than then what she has for me she ignores me and doesn't respond whatsoever. In fact, she gave away the date I requested for a walk through and so now I have to take off more time for work to do this on another day. I actually don't even know if the wedding is going to happen at this point because they haven't even received the final payment. I've called and emailed trying to give them money to make sure we still have our reservation and they still won't respond. Take your money elsewhere and hopefully you'll have less stress planning your wedding than I am. Update 07/01/2016We discovered the reason they were avoiding our calls and emails. They double booked our cabin for the night before the wedding to another wedding party. The owner said there was no solution to it and they didn't know what to do. I am livid, how long were they going to wait to break the news? The day of? They offered no assistance in finding new accommodations or consolation, not even an apology. We paid the remaining balance on our contract today sans cabins for the bridal party. We are in the process of securing other accommodations. They seem to be blissfully unaware that they breached a contract and that we have legal recourse if we choose. Reviewed on 01-07-2016

Kaela Chow(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-07-2015 SM was a beautiful setting to have our wedding this past July. Yes, it’s a little out of the way and yes, if you look at reviews from a year ago, some of their facilities used to be damaged by the devastating Lyons flood BUT none of that was present or an issue for us. I’m pretty sure all the damage has been repaired by now and the grounds are a picturesque setting for a ceremony and reception.\r\rBecause they don’t have a lot of people staying there outside of weddings, their office hours for phone calling is a bit more limited. I preferred to deal with email but we never had a problem getting them on the phone if we needed to (because we looked up and wrote down their hours). The cabins are cute! If you’re the sort of person who wants 5 star hotel amenities (like room service), maybe you should look elsewhere but if you like log cabins, they’re really nice. The bathtub in one of the cabins had some issues with not immediately draining, which presented me with an interesting situation while I was dying my hair black (didn’t want to stain my toes or feet) but overall it was a minor thing. I wasn’t in the lodge rooms myself but some of my friends were and when I poked my head it, it seems cozy. Again, not 5 stars but the convenience of having rooms on location so no one has to drive after drinking is far more important to me than room service or an on-site gym (there is a pool however).\r\rConvenient again was the ability to rent linens directly from them. We didn’t have to set them up or take them down and they looked great! If you wanted, you could rent an Oskar Blues bus, again making sure all your guests are safe and happy. We had the venue for the entire day (big plus) from 11am to technically 11pm (but essentially they let us party until midnight). We could rent sound systems, lighting systems, extra tents, and more. It was a one-stop shop and that was awesome.\r\rThe only things I’d say that anyone really needs to be aware of is that cell phones don’t work up there. No service for anyone. You have to go back to the days of preplanning and make sure that people know how to get there (it’s very simple) because they can’t call on the way. There is wireless internet but it’s a tad slow. Because they give out the venue to couples for an entire day, you can’t book your rehearsal date until less than a month from your wedding. When you want to get all your ducks in a row, that’s a little unsettling to have to wait so close to the date but you don’t have to worry about someone else running a rehearsal the morning or afternoon of your own booking. \r\rThanks to Erika (our coordinator) for her professional and prompt attention before, during, and after the event.\r\rThere’s a ton of ways to make this place a budget friendly venue or an everything-you-ever-wanted-that-money-can-buy venue. We found it to be a great value for our money. Highly recommend.\r Reviewed on 11-08-2015

Elyse Brownell(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-10-2014 We had our fall outdoor wedding at Stone Mountain this October. Carrie was fantastic to work with from beginning to end. She had a lot of useful information right up front which was really helpful to us as a newly engaged couple. We attended a few of their bridal events where we were able to meet and hire both our caterer and florist. STM offered a payment plan, which not a lot of places do, which we spread out over 8 months to make our dream wedding possible and more affordable. We knew we were taking a risk having an outdoor wedding in October, but Carrie set our mind at ease when we talked about an alternative plan, which luckily we didn't have to use. We used very little decorations at our reception because the inside of the tent is already so beautiful with the drapery and the lighting and the outdoor garden area and ceremony area are beautifully decorated by the venue and by nature. The grounds are very well kept and the resident ducks are friendly and non intrusive. We were also able to rent out all of the cabins and lodges the night of our wedding, which was convenient for our guests to have a place to stay after the reception. The cabins are clean, well heated, and creatively decorated. Our cabin, 18, was the music themed cabin and was perfect for our first night together as husband and wife. If you're looking for a stunning setting, great people/staff, and an affordable venue for your wedding, I would HIGHLY recommend Stone Mountain. Reviewed on 27-10-2014
Allison Watson(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-06-2014 We recently had our wedding at Stone Mountain Lodge and we couldn't have asked for a better day! The property is beautiful and very well taken care of. The staff was very helpful even though our day of coordinator could not be there, different staff members took over and everything still went very smoothly. I highly recommend getting married at Stone Mountain. Reviewed on 21-07-2014
Brianna Hall(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-06-2014 These guys were wonderful! During our planning process they were always there to answer any questions and helped us out the whole way! The day of our wedding was beautiful and they were there bright and early to help us with anything we needed. Our event coordinator there went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure everything fell into place and was perfect for us. The whole staff is wonderful and the property is gorgeous and very well kept and we couldn't imagine our day anywhere else! I would recommend booking all the lodge rooms and cabins for a good sized wedding as we did, as you will get all the privacy you could want.\r\rP.S. The ducks are the best!\r\r Reviewed on 17-07-2014
Briana Michelle(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-06-2014 I had my wedding in June and chose Stone Mountain Lodge for a few reasons, it is beautiful there, location (wanted a mountain wedding), and value. Service, such as answering questions and communication was really good until two months before the wedding. My family was trying to book rooms there and would leave messages without them getting back to them. My family ended staying elsewhere. I called and emailed them with venue questions for my vendors, without them getting back to me as well. When it became crunch time, it was as if no one worked there, which made my stress as a bride very high. I had to travel one hour and walk into their office in order to get my questions answered. \rPrevious to the wedding, they told me I could have flower petals on my aisle and told me to clean them up the best I could after the ceremony. I asked if I should bring a rake or lawn vacuum and they said it wasn't necessary. The night of my wedding instead of enjoying my reception, they had my dad picking up every last petal and threatened to take my deposit because of the petals. I ended up having a beautiful wedding, but I am very disappointed in their communication and service. Reviewed on 10-07-2014
Lindsay Hartman(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-06-2013 our wedding was great here, and we heard so many people say how much they loved it at SML!\rObviously when you see this place you can tell it's beautiful with the pond and lots of trees and flowers, and the tent has nice windows and chandeliers. You can have every part of the wedding here so it makes the day easy. You get the whole day so you can take alot of time setting up (don't feel rushed). \rThe staff was very helpful, always answering my questions and willing to work with us on details. They let us hang things from the trees and inside the tent.\rThe floor in the tent probably needs replacing soon, but it was just old green carpet, nothing terrible. We easily fit 100 people in and my friend was able to do 140 at hers here.\rI put 4 stars for value only because they don't have to set anything up but chairs and tables, and have a coordinator there all day so I thought it could have been a little cheaper. Not much less than $5000 is a little much for just renting the place for a day and that little bit of set up.\rThe bridal tent was nice and it does have an air conditioner. \rThey allow a big range of vendors (they do have a list otherwise there is a small fee to bring someone new in).\rThey can't sell alcohol there, so either the caterer has to serve it or you buy it before and have it brought, but you can't do a cash bar if you were hoping to (buying it from a liquor store before is a very cheap and great idea)! Janae Reed(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-09-2013 This venue itself is gorgeous. The staff is friendly but unorganized.\r\rThe handling of our financials was frustrating. Each time Carrie (GM) billed us for event costs, the amount was incorrect and I had to point it out. We paid deposits for a few of our guests’ rooms and left the remaining balance to be paid at check-in. The day after our wedding, our credit card was charged for 3 extra rooms. The first was for a room paid for in full by our friend. Stone Mtn. refused to issue a refund to us, so my friend had to dispute the charge with her credit card company and pay us the difference. The next was a double charge for the room my husband and I stayed in. The third was a charge for a room we never booked. When I asked Stone Mtn. to address the discrepancies, they argued back and forth with me for 3 days. They didn’t know who stayed in which room. They did not have their records straight. I sent them confirmation emails and credit card statements until they begrudgingly issued me one refund and told me to dispute the rest with our credit card company. \r\rThe person handling the books wouldn’t take responsibility for these mistakes and mostly just placed blame on us.\r\rWe chose Stone Mtn. because the venue allows outside caterers. We had restaurant friends who offered their help. Carrie okayed this, but we kept running into licensing and insurance issues with the event coordinator. They didn’t seem to be on the same page with this policy. We should have asked more questions before we signed a contract. There was a lot of back and forth before we settled on one of their preferred caterers. \r\rSetting up for the wedding, we had a hard time getting help from the staff. The vacuum we asked for barely worked. We asked for a new one but it never came. We were told a ladder would be available to hang lights. The only ladder available was an extension ladder. We made it work but it wasn't very safe. \r\rThe event coordinator seemed to be the only staff member available and had a lot on her plate. She set up all of the ceremony chairs by herself. She was giving tours of the grounds to potential clients. She was not present during our ceremony rehearsal, which made her attempt at directing the ceremony procession inadequate. \r\rWe paid $200 for two hours of clean up time (I am told we were the first and last wedding to be offered this service). The following morning, our decorations were in shambles. Delicate items were thrown into trash bags and left on the floor. There were items missing, broken and left outside. When a friend called to ask about her lost sunglasses, the staff member informed her that the venue had hired temporary staff to clean up our decorations, and that they couldn’t be responsible for personal items left.\r\rWhen we were ready to leave in the morning, the 500 feet of string lights that we purchased and spent three hours installing were still hanging. The staff suggested that we leave them up for the wedding that day. They clearly did not want to take the lights down. We agreed to come retrieve the lights later in the week. When we came back a few days later (from Denver), the lights were still not down. Carrie promised to purchase new lights and mail them to us. She did, but she only replaced maybe 2/3 of the length of string lights we purchased.\r\rThe staff was friendly but not very helpful. They just didn’t seem to have a good grasp on what was going on. Our wedding was beautiful but it could have been much easier. Reviewed on 04-10-2013

Laura Matthews(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-06-2013 It is unfortunate that this beautiful property is being run by an awful staff. I booked Stone Mountain for my wedding, and everything was going well until the event planner/manager I booked with left for another job. I was never notified that she was gone and no one ever called to let me know the switch in management. At this point, it became harder to get ahold of anyone in the office. I would call multiple times a day and get no answer and I was lucky to get a call back in a day or two after leaving a message. Eventually, my now husband and I drove there to sit down with Carrie and get all my questions answered. This is when she told me that we did not have to hire an event planner because herself and her staff would be available the day of our wedding, and their event coordinator would be there through the ceremony to make sure everything ran smoothly. On the day of my wedding the girl who was supposed to be available for questions and to help us get everything set up had a family emergency and left the property. I think I may have seen her once the entire day and she never approached myself or my family to see if we needed anything, or to let us know that she was leaving. The general manager, who told me after the wedding that she was in the office until 4:30 that day, never came out to remedy the situation. She also left without saying anything to anyone. Luckily, the officiant I hired was able to move our ceremony along with no problem, but if I had relied on Stone Mountain as they said I could, I don't know how it would have turned out. At the end of the reception, the one staff member that was on site to close the tent up told my sister that although contractually we were supposed to have our stuff out of the tent by midnight, we could drive our cars down to the tent in the morning to pack up boxes of decorations, as long as it was before 9am. We did just that, and then received an email a few days later saying we would not get our security deposit back because of this. Obviously, we would have cleaned our stuff out if the staff had not told us it would be ok otherwise. It has now been 2 weeks since our wedding and both my mom and I have been trying to call them to discuss this situation and they will not answer or return our messages. They were the most unprofessional people to work with, and I would not recommend this place to anyone. Oh, and to top it off you pay for 5 star rooms and you get 1 star rooms. We enjoyed our wedding day immensely, but no thanks to the staff! Reviewed on 02-07-2013
Danielle Hollis(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-06-2013 Overall we had a great wedding and the site itself is beautiful and reasonably priced. However we had numerous service issues through the pre planning, during the event and am still dealing with some afterwards. \r\rThe room reservations for our guests were a little but of a mess from the get go. We pre paid for all of the rooms for our guests to reserve and then pay the property direcly at check in and we would be reimbursed. We had to keep revieing this with them about 5 different times as they kept telling our guests all the rooms were already taken care of. \r\rDuring the wedding our room was not ready prior to the wedding as promised so we had to each get ready in other people's rooms which was chaotic and awkward. We also had to store all the bouquets in a different cabin which then the key didn't work to open that they gave us before the ceremony and we didn't get to use any of the flower bouquets. \r\rThere was also no one in sight at th entire property for the entire wedding and no one even checked in with us when we arrived or went over anything with us or gave us any contact if we needed something. Another one of our friends keys also didn't work to her cabin and she ended up having to share with someone else. \r\rAll in all, a beautiful and convenient place but they really need some help in the service area. The staff was great, the place is beautiful and it's really affordable, especailly considering you get it for the whole day. Warning though- there is no cell phone service there but I LOVED that! If you are getting married there, there is a hiking trail behind the facility that goes to the top of a hill and is a great spot for photos. Kiley Epperson(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-06-2012 We had about 100-130 people coming to our wedding, many from out of town, and we wanted to provide them with a place to stay that was close to the wedding. There were many children present, so one of the reasons we chose Stone Mountain was because of the on-site outside pool that we could use to entertain guests during their stay and while we were setting up for the wedding. The day before we were to be up there, my mom calld to make sure the pool had been filled (they had assured us a month before that it would be). They informed us that the pool was NOT filled and that it would not be filled by the time we got up there for our weekend stay and our wedding. They did however inform us that we could use their \"slip n' slide\" that they had purchased in leiu of a dip in the pool, or that we could take the children tubing down the river that was right across the street. For some of the children, those might have been decent alternatives, but we also had a few toddlers who would NOT have been able to utilize those. When we got up there, they had ONE hose leading into the pool, which was Obviously not sufficient to fill it.\rI could go on about the headache this caused, but there is more to tell. \rThe rooms were dirty and there were bugs ALL over the rooms.\rExtra \"hidden\" costs were tacked on at every opportunity.\rThey were not cooperative and tried to CHARGE us to use the grassy park area for our rehearsal.\rAlthough there were MANY headaches that put a damper on many of our festivities, Stone Mountain was a Beautiful place to have our wedding - having everybody around to spend a couple of days celebrating, instead of coming to a venue and leaving after the ceremony (and after drinking), was a wonderful way to do it. \rI would recommend Stone Mountain, but ONLY after asking all of hte important questions, reading the FINE PRINT on the contracts, and keeping as much open communication between the staff and yourself as possible in order to avoid disappointments.
