Emily Hesse(other)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-06-2021 This venue offers a unique experience for allowing guests an entire island and weekend getaway for their friends and family. Hands down, some of the core memories the bride and groom and our friends came from this venue and our weekend celebrated here. The grounds, facilities, and lodging is unique, quaint and cute. The outdoor ceremony space has perfect lake views and greenery surrounding, and the tent rental was perfect. My rating of a 4 star rather than 5 comes because this wedding was held soon after Covid restrictions were lifted and I believe we might have been part of one of the first larger weddings (roughly 150 people). The venue ran out of food and drink, leaving some people without dinner and had to switch from kegs to (warm) bottled beer. Still - I would bet they have adjusted since then and are more adapted to handling larger weddings now.Highly recommend if you're looking for an outdoor, full weekend getaway! Reviewed on 09-11-2022
Maggie Flanagan(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-09-2021 My partner and I were married on Stout's Island in September of 2021. After visiting the island the prior year, we knew right away it was exactly the venue we were looking for. It's rustic yet elegant, and despite it being as small as it is, it seemed as if we had the whole island to ourselves. We knew the bonfires would feel warm, and we expected the scenery of Red Cedar Lake to take care of all the decorations ― but we really had no idea that everyone working on Stout's Island would be so wonderful, so complimentary, so fun, so ready to help. They took care of little details proactively, without even being asked. For example, I learned that one of their employees was headed home to make table runners for our Friday night dinner, and that another had agreed to making a very specific dessert upon my uncle's request. One of the decorative vases intended for the ceremony had broken, and I don't know how they did, but replaced it with something nearly identical. Problem solved! We didn't expect or ask for that kind of attentiveness but we're so grateful for it because we were truly able to be fully present in every moment. We heard over and over again from our guests how accommodating Stout's staff was. Every room is unique, and the community spaces are so cozy. We have friends planning their 2022 return, and my dad has decided that none of our previous family vacations reached the level of greatness that was Stout's Island Lodge. From meditative wanderings to bonfire debauchery, it was more than we could have ever imagined. The food was delicious! Stephanie was quick to respond to every question leading up to the wedding (I bet we sent her 32 emails), and always so kind and clear in communication. I seriously can't think of one not-so-positive thing to say. We are so deeply grateful for everything Stout's Island staff did to make the weekend so special. If you're looking for a unique destination wedding in the Midwest, run, don't walk to Stout's Island ferry landing. Reviewed on 15-12-2021
Marra Clay(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-04-2023 We ended up not booking our wedding at Stout's because of some practical difficulties on our end with our guest list, wedding date, etc., but Stephanie was WONDERFUL. The island is beautiful and everyone there was professional and kind. We would highly recommend checking out Stout's Island! Though we won't be able to have our wedding here, we hope to have our bridal party there for a weekend sometime soon. Reviewed on 11-07-2021

Carolyn Germaine(other)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-10-2019 I have had the honor of officiating at Stout's Island Lodge over several years and each time am captivated with the serene setting and grateful for the 100% attention their staff gives to each couple. They are efficient, personable and delightful to work with. It is quite amazing that this \"island\" experience is such a reasonable drive from the Twin Cities. I highly recommend them! Rosa Malave(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-08-2018 I am still overwhelmed at what an amazing wedding we had at Stout's Island Lodge. I accidentally stumbled across this hidden gem in an online search and couldn't be happier that I did. My husband and I are from Chicago, and we were looking for a venue in northern Wisconsin that would be different than your average banquet hall. We wanted a unique, intimate experience for all of our guests. The whole experience completely exceeded all of our expectations. There are so many great things about Stout's but I'll stick to the important ones. First, for those of you on a budget, Stout's is affordable! You have the option of renting the whole island but it's not necessary because they only host one wedding a weekend. The events coordinators are amazing! We did not have a wedding planner, and they were phenomenal at assisting with coordinating everything. They helped to make sure I wasn't forgetting anything. They have a preferred vendors list for all of your wedding needs, and the vendors they recommend are very familiar with Stout's. This is extremely important since it is on an island. All of our vendors with the exception of the linen company were from their preferred vendor list, and I have equally great things to say about all of them. The moment you step on the ferry you will be whisked away to a beautiful place that has it's own magic. Everything about this place is beautiful. The groundskeeper does an amazing job at preserving the island's natural beauty. All of the cabins are charming and make you feel as though you are stepping back in time without sacrificing comfort or cleanliness. There are a ton of things for wedding guests to participate in while the wedding couple is preparing for the big day. The food is excellent! Our wedding guests were blown away with how good the appetizers and entrees were! Everything ran completely smooth for both our rehearsal dinner and the actual wedding. Our wedding was better than I ever could have imagined and I credit Stout's and all the wonderful staff for it. Every single employee there was friendly and courteous. We felt very special. Our guests loved the experience and some chose to stay even longer. Many of us will return to Stout's to vacation, because this place is just so incredible. I highly recommend this venue for those who want a unique experience and to create memories that will last a lifetime. Reviewed on 15-09-2018
Jeanne Malave(parent)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-08-2018 My daughter Rosa Malave' married Todd Langley on 8/18/18 here. A more perfect wedding can't possibly have happened. The food which was salmon steaks and filet mignon came out from the kitchen perfectly cooked and hot to our 60 guests. Rosa chose family style so guests could choose steak, salmon or both. The venue was a beautiful combination of wild flowers and groomed wilderness. We were concerned about mosquitos and flies but never saw either. God provided the perfect weather and the staff at Stout provided the rest. It couldn't have been more perfect! The cabins are fully equipped, charming and more than clean beside being gorgeously rustic. We wanted to steal the mattress and pillows as they were so comfortable. Everyone from the ferry operator to the wedding planner was very accommodating and helpful. Almost all weddings have something that is less than perfect but we are still trying to figure out what that could have been. Don't tell anyone but this is the perfect place to have an elegant outdoor wedding. Our guests came from all over the U.S. and all said they want to return to Stouts Island. Thank you to ALL of you at Stouts who made my daughter's wedding so perfect! Jeanne Malave' Reviewed on 31-08-2018
a member (bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-01-1970 Stout’s Island provided us with a wedding experience that blew our expectations and hopes out of the water. We were looking for a unique wedding venue, and Stout’s Island Lodge definitely delivered. We had a wedding in late June and really loved having the chance to spend the whole weekend with our guests. The grounds were stunning. We had beautiful weather, and our guests really enjoyed taking advantage of the many different water toys, yard games, bonfires at night, etc. These experiences coupled with the great food and cocktails allowed all of our guests to bond and have a great time. A month later, people are still asking us if we can make this an annual event.\rIn addition, I can’t praise the staff at Stout’s Island enough. Every staff member who we encountered was friendly and helpful. In our case though, the staff truly went above and beyond when one of our vendors showed up and forgot a number of items. For example, when the flowers for our wedding arch were forgotten, the staff at Stout’s Island recognized that we were in a pinch. Without me even knowing that this was an issue at the time, the staff members started to pull flowers from the gardens on the property and beautifully decorated the arch. Stout’s Island, we can’t thank you enough! Reviewed on 09-08-2015
Kimberly Mead(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-12-2011 I literally cannot even explain how magical this place/venue is. It's the real deal to say the least. My now husband and I spent the morning of our wedding kayaking, walking the trails, jumping in the lake and eating! It's the most rustic you can get, but with impeccable service, outstanding food, and gorgeous cabins scattered all over this little Wisconsin Island. The whole thing was a dream, but mainly because of the insane service and attention to detail by the staff. These lovely ladies even let me take a few flowers from the garden for my hair on the day off. If you are looking for real down to earth romance in the country, with a serious case of the best service then this is it, no doubt. All my love Stout's Island. Thank you! Reviewed on 29-09-2013
Emily Peterson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-06-2013 We truly had the most remarkable experience with Stouts Island Lodge for our wedding day this past June. \r\rThe communication leading up to the wedding was streamlined and organized. They offered very reasonable and competitive pricing on catering and the 'extras.' \r\rI was a very hands on bride, so did many things myself, but, they offered (and have the capacity) to handle/streamline so many additional tasks related to the wedding. \r\rWhile there that weekend the staff was amazing. All of our guests enjoyed the great attitude and demeanor of everyone they worked with. The food was to. die. for. The bar was well stocked and reasonable priced. \r\rI can't even begin to express how helpful and grateful we were to our wedding coordinator at the resort, Stephanie. Our day would not have been the same without her. She took care of everything with beyond any expected professionalism and grace - keeping trouble at a distance from the bride and groom for the day. \r\rThe venue itself is incredible. Gorgeous. Well kept. \r\rWe really can't say enough. Thank you to everyone at Stouts for everything you did to make our day as amazing as it was. Reviewed on 05-08-2013
