Located in Butler, Pennsylvania, just 30 minutes north of Pittsburgh, Audubon at Succop Nature Park is an outdoor wedding, celebration, and gathering venue where couples surround themselves with natural elegance and style. Vows may be exchanged in front of a picturesque pond, on the beautiful red brick walkway in front of the 1830s Marcraig House, or in an open field facing the woods that surround the property. Romantic and idyllic, these settings create a backdrop for photos that are timeless and irreplaceable. This enchanting property features over 50 acres of natural beauty where couples and their guests may view birds, butterflies, and wildlife.
From May through October, any wedding and reception, or special event, held at this property can accommodate up to 250 guests. Spend your entire event close to nature, starting with cocktails in the 1830 Marcraig House and private back patio, then taking in the beauty of peaceful nature trails before dancing the night away under the stars in our pond-side pavilion shelter. Whether you are planning a ceremony, a bridal shower, engagement party, rehearsal dinner, wedding reception, corporate party, birthday party, or other special event, youāll find your perfect setting here.
During the colder months of November through April, events move indoors to the 1830 Marcraig House. During this time, we are able to host weddings or events of up to 60 people seated, or 100 in a mingling-style reception.
Our wedding package includes a 10-hour exclusive rental of the 1830 Marcraig House and outdoor pavilion areas, tables and chairs for reception and ceremony, a complete and customizable dinner buffet, and linen tablecloths and napkins. Venue and catering staff will be onsite to ensure the venue and all service-related needs are met on the day of your event. While we do not provide day-of coordination, we welcome you to hire a coordinator to assist you on your big day.
Audubon at Succop Nature Park provides in-house catering through Medureās Catering which features a variety of food styles such as American, Spanish, Cajun, Italian, Indian, Mediterranean, and more. Dietary, cultural, and religious meal options are also available.

Succop was the first place we visited. We loved it so much we booked it that day, and it was everything we hoped it would be. We had our ceremony and reception there 9/9/23, and it was great being able to use the mansion for the whole day, especially getting ready before the wedding. They work exclusively with Medures catering, and the food was delicious. You have to supply your own alcohol, which was great for us because we liked being able to have some nice craft options. Succop is a beautiful venue and a great value compared to the prices of other venues. Reviewed on 18-10-2023

There are : the green house, the barn, the willow tree, pond 1, pond 2, the provided arch, pavillion, and ofcourse the Marcraig house. The house itself has 2 suites with 2 rooms on each side, and a bathroom with shower + bath. We had a large bridal party and it could house all 40 people throughout the day comfortably. There are backup plans in place in case of poor weather, as the pavilion has drop down tent walls with windows. They do use an exclusive caterer of Medure's. However- I was very satisfied with them. We had our ceremony and reception at this venue and were impressed with nearly all aspects. The grounds, House, and reception pavilion were all well kempt and provided an outstanding backdrop for our event. Medureās catering is the exclusive food provider. Their food is outstanding. We upgraded some options which proved to be well worth the extra per head cost. Two notes - the overall āsuccessā of hosting a wedding at this site is rather weather dependent. We lucked out with full sun and moderate temps but if it had been raining or overwhelmingly hot, this venue would have been less than ideal. They DO provide sides for the pavilion and AC but only in the house which isnāt large enough for a seated reception. Also, this venue is rather DIY. Chrissy K(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-08-2016 I had my heart set on getting married outside in Western PA as that is where I grew up. I looked at pretty much every outdoor venue, until I came across Succop Nature Park, and after visiting I knew this was the place I wanted to get married. The grounds are breathtaking, and you could tell at the walk through Davlin was really on top of things. Davlin was able to quickly address all of my questions throughout the process, and was a huge help! It rained briefly 30 minutes before my ceremony, but the staff made sure everyone was under cover, and we ended up resuming a little later after the rain ended (We got married in my original location in front of the pond). We utilized the house for getting ready, and were able to store stuff there the night before since we had a Friday wedding. While this place is not cheap for a suburban wedding, I also found the rate included many things and was priced pretty competitively with other outdoor venues in the area. As others mentioned, they have an exclusive contract with Medures. I think this is a bonus, as they are very organized, and understand how to run a wedding there (they even help you rent the dance floor!) The food is also excellent. This place books up very quickly- I could not get a Saturday wedding over 15 months in advance- but I can understand why! All of my guests were commenting on how this was one of the nicest wedding venues they ever attended- would strongly recommend! Reviewed on 04-10-2016
Sarah DeCubellis(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-06-2016 The place was beautiful and we had a great wedding but the venue really failed on a few issues. One horrendous oversight was that there were not nearly enough horderves for all of the guests. This wouldn't be Succup's problem if it weren't for their \"exclusive\" contract with Medure Catering Company. The most awful part in all of this was that the bartenders had a trashey tip jar out at my wedding!!! I even specified in our contract that I did NOT want tip jars... I was already paying 20% gratuity in my bill and provided all of my own beverages! Lastly, Davalin was next to impossible to reach and only seldomly answered emails. It was a wonderful day because I married the man of my dreams but looking back, I wish I had known these points. Reviewed on 24-09-2016

Caroline Bovalino(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-06-2016 I would give more than 5 stars if I could to Succop. The coordinator, Davlin, and all of the staff are extremely reliable, hospitable, patient and friendly. From all of the meetings & walk through's before our big day, to the day of and the day after (when I left our rented cake stand at the venue and they set it aside to return it to the bakery when they arrived for their next delivery at Succop), I couldn't have been more pleased. They are an excellent, organized team that create a relaxed atmosphere. And, of course, I can't speak highly enough about the grounds and the absolute beauty of the house. Everything was extremely well-kept and so beautiful. We also got lucky with perfect weather in June, so that was a huge bonus, so we were able to have our ceremony outside without issue. Our guests were able to spread out and not feel restricted to the pavilion or inside the house. We had s'mores and yard games as entertainment. We continue to receive compliments from our guests about the wedding - how well organized it was, the beauty of Succop and how much fun they had! Reviewed on 01-07-2016
Kodi Phillips(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-10-2015 This was the perfect venue for our wedding. The grounds are amazingly beautiful and well maintained. The venue does not need a lot of decoration because the house and grounds are more than enough. I enjoyed being able to use the house and back patio for the cocktail hour, it created a lovely atmosphere. The day of was flawless. Davlin and the crew ensured the day ran smoothly, even getting some decorations set up that we had forgot about. Davlin was available for any questions I had in the planning process and really helped guide me through the process. Part of my dress began unraveling right before my dad and I were to start walking. Daviln came to the rescue with a pair of scissors to snip off the strands so it wouldnāt get unravel more as I walked. Since our date was in the fall and it is an outdoor venue, I was naturally concerned about the weather. It was a chilly evening, low 50ās, but with the side flaps for the pavilion and the heaters, our guests were comfortable. Medureās Catering, their exclusive caterer, provided amazing food, set up the reception tables and provided the bartenders. It was a flawless, stress free day. The venue is beautiful and cost effective. Davlin and the other volunteers, along with Medureās catering, worked together to ensure our day was perfect! Reviewed on 04-11-2015

Not only is it a beautiful location, the value is unbelievable. Davlin, the coordinator, is helpful and very responsive--responds best to e-mail. She works with you to make sure you get what you want and have everything you need. They do have an exclusivity contract with Medure's catering (pay per person--linens, napkins, barware, dinnerware all included), but I wouldn't want it any other way. Between the two, you get your food, linens, tables, chairs, bartenders (who will cut any fruit your provide and mix any drink you want), parking attendants, guest book greeters, servers, skewers for the s'mores (yes, there is a fire that they will keep going for you. And if you bring s'mores fixings, your guests will have s'mores all night). They cut the cake, unbox your cookies for the cookie table, bring the cake and cookies to the reception site and then box everything up at the end of the night! Medure's even boxed up and gave us the extra food (which was fantastic by the way--our guests raved about it)! It is important to note that the only beverages they provide are hot tea and coffee (iced tea and lemonade will be provided at an extra cost). So you have to provide all the liquor, beer, side and water. And everything (decorations and food) must be taken down and removed from the site at the end of the night. But the staff is so wonderful that they help you! The reception site has tent flaps in case of rain and can be used as the ceremony site if the rain doesn't let up. They seriously think of everything so you have the most stress-free day. I SO HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!! Reviewed on 03-08-2014

Jessica Gold(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-06-2013 I cannot stress how much I love Succop Conservancy. It is a hidden gem in Butler county that I only happened upon after doing so many searches for an outdoor wedding venue in the pittsburgh area. Although a little outside of Pittsburgh (about 35-40 min from where we live), it is way worth the drive! We received so many compliments from guests who had never been there or even heard of it before.\r\rIt's a beautiful venue for a wedding with the surrounding nature, woods, ponds, trees, and herb garden. Not to mention there is a gorgeous vintage house, the Marcraig house, from the 1800s. It's beautiful inside and out. Though the house is too small to house the reception it is used during the cocktail hour for guests to eat and drink - it also leads onto a brick patio which is also beautiful - this is where the bartender sets up for cocktail hour. The wedding party is also able to use the house to get ready before the ceremony as there is a side for the women and side for the men - both with a room and bathroom for getting ready.\r\rAs for the reception it is held outdoors under a covered pavilion. I loved that it was in a pavilion like this because in case of bad weather there is a cover and sides with windows that the workers can pull down if you ask (luckily we had great weather). There are also pretty white lights hanging from the rafters which are beautiful once it begins to get dark - there's really no need to hang anything else because of the lights. And because of the grounds guests are able to mingle and walk around during cocktail hour and reception. It's a great romantic setting as well.\r\rSeriously if you are looking for a venue around Pittsburgh or Butler I highly recommend Succop Conservancy. And even if you don't want to get married there go check it out - you can go walk the trails or enjoy the land anytime. Also dog friendly - we had our dog at our wedding! :) Reviewed on 08-09-2013

We figured we could manage for 100 guests and Medure's catering (the venues exclusive caterer) did a fantastic job. They worked with us to keep the menu light and summery while incorporating some of our cultural favorites. Everyone we worked with was flexible, prompt, and professional. \r\rThe only complaint some guests had was that their cake was removed before they had a chance to eat it. Nancy Lawry, the event coordinator, is not only an ASSET to the Succop, but she was very professional, and responded to any and all emails very quickly! Pete Medure (the contracted caterer for the Succop) and his employees were also very professional, and really relieved a TON of stress on the wedding day, and the months leading up to it...also, their food in incredible, and I highly recommend the Eggplant Rollatini. My in-laws also held our rehearsal dinner at the Succop, and the food was wonderful there as well (best steak I have had in a while!)! I cannot recommend the Succop and Medure's catering enough! Also, the Succop has many beautiful places to take your wedding day photos. I had to settle for Friday wedding (which turned out just fine...almost everyone was able to attend!) because the venue does book up very quickly (we were 13 mos. out, and it was already booked for every Sat. in Sept.!) If your a bride and you plan on getting ready at the Succop, and having your bridesmaids get ready there as well, the whole top floor of the Marcraig house will be available to you (at least it was for my wedding)...there are two restrooms and plenty of mirrors/rooms for you and your bridesmaids to get ready..your groom and his groomsmen are able to dress in the smaller cottage on the property. Make sure you arrange to have a bonfire in the evening! :) Also, Medure's can supply propane heaters for the pavilion if you are getting married in the early spring or fall...I was SO glad we rented them!\r\rI would highly recommend the Succop as well as Medure's Catering to any bride who wants a great value for her money, and who values being able to contact her vendors and receive timely responses. From the first second I drove onto this property I knew I wanted our wedding there. It was everything I'd hoped it would be and more. Nancy was not only professional, but so easy to work with and pleasant all of the time. I had some concern because I had never heard of the required caterer before (Medures), but they immediately arranged a tasting and we were impressed. Many of our guests also told us that this was the best wedding food they have ever had. You MUST get the eggplant rollatini!! The servers were wonderful and set everything up for us and I never had to worry about a thing. It was gorgeous and we even had a bonfire. The one recommendation I would make is to make sure you designate someone to pack up all of your belongings at the end, because I was scrambling to figure that out at the last minute. They don't keep staff on to help load centerpieces and liquor into the car at the end of the night, so I wish I had figured something out earlier. But that was my fault because I did know that.
