We had our wedding at Sugarbush on 6/24/23 and it was absolutely incredible - everything I had hoped it would be and more. I would highly recommend Sugarbush as a wedding venue!First, I would give a shoutout to our Event Coordinator, Alyssa. I am not a planner by nature, and the idea of wedding planning felt daunting and stressful to me. Alyssa made it feel easy, seamless, and fun. She was extremely helpful throughout the wedding planning process. During our wedding weekend, from the Welcome Party through the goodbye Brunch, and particularly throughout the entire wedding day, Alyssa was present, thoughtful, responsive, took charge when needed to give clear direction to vendors, and took care of every little detail. I felt like I could relax, enjoy, and go with the flow, which honestly meant the world to me as someone who is easily stressed out by all the plans and details that go into a wedding. I was able to let go of any stress and just have (so much!!) fun! The venue is gorgeous - you can't beat getting married surrounded by those beautiful VT mountains! Sugarbush Resort transforms into an absolutely gorgeous event space in the summer. The Gate House Lodge where I've had so many mid-day ski lunches becomes the most beautiful space for dinner and dancing. We had originally planned to do a mountain ceremony, taking the chairlift up. It rained on our wedding day, which is many brides' worst nightmare, but the rain somehow made the whole day even more fun! Sugarbush has an immaculate rain plan. The rain plan they have for the ceremony is absolutely gorgeous, and it felt SO fun to party in the rain together in such a gorgeous space! I can't stress enough how grateful I was for such a flawless rain plan, as I've had friends so disappointed by the rain plans at their venues when weather turned out disappointing. I can confidently say that a wedding at Sugarbush is just as beautiful and fun in the rain as it would be in the sun. Also important to mention: - Almost all our guests stayed at Clay Brook, where the rooms were beautiful and so well-kept. They were all very pleased with their accommodations. All the Sugarbush staff are friendly, warm, and welcoming. - The bartenders were awesome, and the food and service was great. We opted for the most affordable open bar option, as well as the most affordable dining option, and can confidently say that the \"most affordable\" options included a great selection of alcohol and meal options. If you do an \"after party,\" we recommend getting the wood-fired pizza - our guests loved it!- If you're looking to do a Welcome Party, we highly recommend having it at Castlerock Pub (right on the resort, very conveniently located), as we did! The weather that night was beautiful, so we were able to gather inside and outside in the courtyard, which was awesome. They provide games like cornhole and firepits to sit around once it gets dark. The Welcome Party was one of my favorite parts of the whole weekend!- If you're looking for a goodbye brunch, we recommend hosting it at Rumble's (also conveniently located on the resort). The brunch buffet was great! - Our guests loved how easily accessible everything was, as did we! It was awesome to have all the weekend events right on the resort, so close to where all our guests were staying at Clay Brook! It made the weekend feel extra fun and special, like all 130 of us were on an awesome vacation together. Reviewed on 10-07-2023

First, we want to thank the entire Sugarbush wedding team for their yearlong support in planning our wedding! From the moment we started exploring sugarbush, everyone was communicative and transparent and felt invested in our wedding, which we held in October 2023.Molly, our coordinator, kept us on track (and that’s a high compliment coming from a pretty organized and control-freak bride) and worked with us to make everything work, from managing our vendors to suggesting ideas and being flexible when things inevitably changed. The day of our wedding was beautiful but cold, and Molly and team were there every step of the way shepherding people around and making sure every guest was comfortable. One thing I will never forget is standing under the arch, shaking from the cold and from excitement in the 40° weather in my strapless dress, and Molly appearing from nowhere to hand me a wrap and a white blazer so I would be more comfortable. The venue is beautiful and there are so many places to host different parts of the wedding. Our guests loved that the weekend was a fall experience, and we felt good knowing there was plenty to do during down times. The sugarbush team is undoubtedly the best at what they do, AND they make you feel like family. They really care that every vision you have, no matter how different, gets executed, and they take your wedding personally. Everyone should get to work with a great team like the sugarbush team. Sugarbush is the perfect wedding venue!! We were married on October 28th, 2023 and after a particularly rainy summer some autumn leaves stuck around for a lovely late-fall atmosphere. Not only are there several on-site lodging options for your guests, but the resort provides food and drink services, beautiful spaces for events before, during, and after the main event, and finally, event coordination, which I think is one of their most valuable services! We worked with Alyssa August from beginning to end. She guided us through the planning process and turned our vision into something that exceeded any and all expectations. Not only was she professional and responsive, but she was also extremely kind, fun, and reassuring, which helped me stay grounded and completely present once the wedding started. She is a PRO at what she does. We were provided with extremely helpful planning documents about 6 months ahead of the wedding for us to work on, and once our RSVPs rolled in, we were in constant communication for about 2 months leading up to the wedding. She was able to seamlessly handle any last minute changes, such as guest cancellations and moving the ceremony inside after a surprise change in the forecast. I should also note that while an outdoor ceremony was our original plan, the indoor ceremony within the Gate House Lodge was described as \"electric\" by our guests and felt destined to happen that way. The entire staff at Sugarbush was so well equipped to throw us the best party we've ever been to. The Clay Brook hotel is insane too - getting to hit the hot tub the morning after the wedding was awesome. GET MARRIED HERE. You will not regret it! Reviewed on 31-10-2023

We had our wedding weekend on September 16th and it was incredible! Our event coordinator Molly was absolutely amazing and made timelines and decisions so effortless. We had our welcome party at Castlerock Pub. The bartenders were super friendly and attentive and the wing bar was great! The fire pits were lit which provided a beautiful ambiance for guests to mingle outside. We had rented av equipment for our family and friends to provide the music for our ceremony. Molly made sure we had space to store it for the weekend. The wedding day went so smoothly. Our guests commented on how our wedding coordinator was present but not “overly noticeable”. We never had to look for her because she was always right where we needed her when we needed her!We took the chairlift for our first look and photos with our children. The just married sign they attached to our chair provided a great opportunity for photos!!The Claybrook courtyard provided a beautiful setting for our ceremony and the sun decided to appear just in time. Definitely consider the umbrella bar outside of Rumbles for your cocktail hour if weather permits. The venus is just so beautiful, we were happy our guests got to experience so many areas throughout the weekend. Rumbles was the perfect venue! The staff were incredibly attentive and FUN!! Our guests raved about the food! If you are considering something other than a sit down dinner, they did a great job with appetizer selections. The mountain kale salad was a big hit. We added in a prime rib slider carving station which was great and don’t sleep on having a grilled cheese station for late night!!! What a fun much appreciated addition to the menu that our guests truly appreciated toward the end of the evening. All in all, a fantastic experience with Sugarbush. We highly recommend!! We absolutely loved having our wedding at Sugarbush! We got married August 5th and the entire Sugarbush team made our dreams come true. Our event coordinator, Molly, was so organized and did not miss a thing! She curated an entire timeline for us and made decision-making so easy with recommendations and advice. The planning process was so smooth as mostly everything is in-house (food, beverage, linens, etc.) The only outside vendors we needed were photography, music, and hair/makeup for the girls. The staff at the hotel on site were SO accommodating and our guests loved staying there. We took the chairlift up to our ceremony and the lift attendants made sure all of guests felt safe and had fun! We also had our Rehearsal Dinner, Welcome Party, and Sunday Brunch all at the base of the mountain. It was so nice to have everything in one spot so no traveling around. We cannot recommend this venue enough, it's a gorgeous location and the staff alone is worth every penny. Reviewed on 31-08-2023

Naturally, we decided to host our wedding at our favorite mountain without any hesitation! From the moment we inquired, Molly was extremely friendly, professional, responsive, and informative. Believe it or not, we booked Sugarbush as our wedding venue before we were engaged (really took a leap of faith, to say the least). Molly guided us every step of the way with grace and patience. Alyssa became our coordinator later in the process, and the transition was seamless. Alyssa jumped right in! She took initiative, accommodated all our requests (big or small - within reason, of course!), and made the planning process effortless. Alyssa was clear and consistent in her communication and ensured no detail was overlooked. The best decision I made was also having her as the day of coordinator! We got married on October 15, 2022. Our rehearsal dinner and welcome party took place at our favorite après ski spot, Castle Rock Pub. We had a mountain top ceremony at the top of the Gate House chairlift and our cocktail hour/reception was at the Gate House Lodge. We ended our big day at Castle Rock for an after-party! We could not have dreamed of a more beautiful day (and yes, the weather/foliage was picture perfect)! From Molly & Alyssa, the hotel staff, kitchen staff, servers, and bartenders (shout out to John and Laurie) the Sugarbush team took exceptional care of us! Needless to say, everything went off without a hitch and exceeded our expectations and was SO much fun! We are very grateful for the entire Sugarbush team for making our dream wedding a reality. Brought some of our own decor for walls too. We also worked with Sugarbush to obtain some other wines we wanted to serve beyond their standard list and they were happy to help us with this.- a huuuge plus about Sugarbush is that you can party until midnight!! Beth Reedy(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-10-2020 Is it possible to give 6/5 stars??? I don't even know where to begin with how wonderful our experience with Sugarbush was. When we first looked at venues, I had reservations about a ski resort, but after meeting with Andrea for 10 minutes we were sold. I can honestly say that booking with Sugarbush was the best decision we made. As an LGBTQ couple, we found that most venues accepted us, but on a superficial level. This was not the case with Sugarbush. They not only welcomed us, but actively embraced us as a couple. They are the only venue in the area that has taken courses about diversity in the wedding industry, and it was obvious that they strived to incorporate inclusiveness into their foundation. We felt genuinely welcomed at every interaction. We booked our date a year and a half in advanced for Oct 2020. When the pandemic hit, our plans changed weekly with the uncertainty of the crisis. Trying to plan a wedding during a pandemic adds an extra level of stress, but Sugarbush was the most flexible and accommodating out of all our vendors by far. They worked with us ever step of the way to adjust our plans from a large ceremony to an intimate micro wedding. They went above and beyond to make sure that we not only had a safe, Covid compliant celebration, but one that was perfect in every way.The resort itself is beautiful. Having our guests stay onsite and having everything we needed right there made it easy. The wedding itself was simply perfect! We took the chairlift and had our first look on the top of the mountain, and there has never been a better setting. The food was INCREDIBLE, the ceremony site was GORGOUS, the reception was UNBELIEVEABLE! Abby was so easy to work with and kept us on track (which is no easy task). We must have planned our wedding six-times over and could not have made it through without her. She was diligent, creative, responsive, caring, and organized. Every idea we had for the wedding; she found a way to make it happen. The weekend of the wedding, Andrea had everything running smoothly, even with a very last-minute schedule change. I had absolutely nothing to worry about on the big day. By the end of it all, these two felt more like family. We had so many challenges, even without the pandemic, and simply could not have done it without them. We were in amazing hands!I cannot speak high enough of every staff member at Sugarbush. Devin in reservations handled last minute changes without issue. Joshua at the front desk made sure everything was arranged for us. The service at the reception and at Rumbles was amazing. The housekeeping staff was friendly and interactive. Everyone was kind, professional, and helpful. I could go on all day about how amazing everything was. Thanks for everything!!! The stress of having to resign vendor contracts, find new vendors that weren't available on our new date, hunt down refunds, and shell out more money when needed has left us feeling drained. The only shining light throughout all of this has been our decision to book with Sugarbush.Andrea and Abigail have been communicative, kind, and understanding throughought this entire process. They made informed decisions, but were flexible with us when we made the decision to postone. If you are questioning booking with Sugarbush, I'm telling you not to hesitate. When you book with them, you're not only getting the gorgeous views and incredible indoor reception spaces, you're getting a team of people who genuinely want to make your day special and stress-free. Katie Pedrick(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-10-2017 My sister had her wedding at Sugarbush a few years ago and had an absolutely wonderful experience, so when my husband and I got engaged it was a no brainer that we would use the same venue. I must say our experience was a bit different than hers. There were quite a few hiccups in our planning process (the date we requested to be held was accidentally given away to another couple prompting a complete change in our timing, and the venue we wanted (Timber's restaurant) was renovated and no long appropriate for a wedding reception, among many smaller things), however I think the test of a venue is not what goes wrong but how they handle it. In every instance Sugarbush handled the situation as professionally, quickly, and thoroughly as one could ask for. In the end, we had a fantastic wedding in the most beautiful location I can think of. Our wedding coordinator, Calli, gets her own paragraph in this review because she is *absolutely amazing.* Sugarbush is so so lucky to have her. We did most of our planning from a distance (we live down in Boston) and Calli was always available for phone calls and extremely quick to respond to e-mails so we always felt taken care of. In the days leading up to the wedding Calli was amazing at helping me to be sure all my t's were crossed and i's dotted, and every detail had been taken care of. She and her team went above and beyond to insure the room looked amazing for our reception. They assembled all the decorations we brought over precisely, and added to the ambiance with additional candles and decorations that perfectly fit the vision I was going for. Throughout the reception I was repeatedly complemented by our guests on how every possible detail had been thought of, and that was 100% due to Calli. She really took my vision and made it come to life 1,000 times better than I could have done alone. Beyond her obvious skill and coordinating and actually conducting events, Calli has the perfect demeanor for her job. She is so calm, organized and personable that every conversation with her I would come in feeling a little scattered, and leave feeling very calm and sure that everything would be taken care of. Thank you so so much Calli and Sugarbush! We had a great time. Reviewed on 20-10-2017

ASHLEY TEMPLE(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-08-2016 Having our wedding at Sugarbush Resort was exactly what we were looking for! We got married end of August and could not have asked for 1) better weather but most importantly 2) the best wedding coordinator. After we locked in the venue with Andrea, we were soon passed off to Calli for the remainder of the year until our wedding date. Calli has the perfect demeanor and personality for being a wedding coordinator. She is so calm, easy to work with, always answered our questions in detail, and made our big day run smoothly. Since we live in NYC, and weren’t able to come up often, it was nice having Calli be so responsive and easy to speak with when we had questions throughout the year – it put our minds at ease. I felt like she was always right by our side, and made us feel very confident that everything would run well. The staff throughout the weekend was also very accommodating. My dad and brother had an issue with their air conditioning and the hotel immediately put them in a better/larger room for no extra charge. It was little stuff like that, which made everyone’s stay so pleasant! Guests were also able to enjoy the area of Warren and activities on/around the mountain. We highly recommend this venue! From the weather, to the staff, the food (which we had so many compliments on by our guests), to the late night pizza cart, the ceremony at the top of the mountain, to the rehearsal the night before and brunch the day after, not one thing went wrong. It was honestly the most perfect weekend and all of our guests had an absolute blast. We owe our big day going so well to Calli. I cannot say enough great things about her – we were just so pleased. Lisa Valente(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-08-2016 Sugarbush was such a special place to get married! Our wedding coordinator Calli was fantastic (seriously, amazing!) and the rest of the staff was friendly and awesome too. We took the chairlift up for pictures, had amazing views from our ceremony site and danced the night away. I loved that the lodge had big beautiful windows and barn doors (minimal decor needed). We were able to set up a lot the day before and then it was smooth sailing the day of the wedding. It was really great that everyone could stay right onsite. We loved getting married here! I planned the wedding from across the country, not easy overall, but much easier thanks to Calli - so flexible, responsive, accommodating and just a wonderful person! All my guests raved about the whole experience. We had a Welcome Party, Ceremony on the mountain, Reception, and Farewell Brunch. Each part was managed meticulously and I was at complete ease. Kelly McLaughlin(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-10-2015 Sugarbush Resort provided us with our dream wedding destination. We knew we wanted a mountain side ceremony, weather permitting, and Sugarbush has the most perfect green mountain views. Another factor we had to be comfortable with was the back up location if the weather did not cooperate and Sugarbush has multiple options for indoor ceremony locations. Staff onsite are extremely helpful and so easy to work with. Our guests had a fantastic time and so did we. Looking back, I would not have changed one detail of our entire wedding planning process! Brianne Dobush(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-07-2015 We had an incredible experience planning our wedding at Sugarbush. Our wedding coordinator, Calli, was absolutely amazing - so flexible, responsive, accommodating and just a wonderful person! We met with her several times and she was always so willing to help us with any special request that we had and dedicate as much time as we needed to talk everything through. She was on top of every detail. The venue itself was perfect for what we wanted - a weekend away for friends and family where we could all be in one spot to make it easy and fun for all of our guests. The beautiful location does not hurt either! Although we had to use our rain backup on the day of our wedding, everything still ran smoothly and Calli helped make our wedding day just as perfect as we imagined. The service was great, we got lots of compliments on the food, and the drinks flowed all night. I would absolutely recommend having your wedding at Sugarbush! Reviewed on 13-09-2015
Ellen Vickery(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-10-2014 We hosted our rehearsal dinner, welcome reception, ceremony and reception, and farewell brunch at Sugarbush during Community Weekend. Having all events under the supervision of our coordinator, Calli, make things incredibly simple. To start, Sugarbush is gorgeous. Unlike other ski resorts we looked at, Sugarbush keeps their trails well maintained even in summer. The views are stunning and the Gate House Lodge is the perfect combination of rustic elegance. With the surrounding area being so cute and pretty and all the activities of Community Weekend available to us, our guests commented that it was like a mini vacation for them. \r\rLodging options are excellent, at varied price points, and within walking distance. Claybrook, the main lodging, is right next to Gate House making it super convenient. Rooms are enormous and decently priced. Downside was our guests had to call during normal office hours to book, though we saw that another wedding had an online booking code, which would have made things easier. \r\rAll the staff were absolutely wonderful to work with. Bruce, the wine manager, and Shawn, the bar manager, ensured we got exactly the wine and beer we wanted. The facilities guys were great and patient in setting up on top of the mountain. The coordinator, Calli, I cannot rave enough about. Due to staff turnover, I didn't start by working with her, but when she was assigned our wedding, we went all the notes she had been given, she asked a few questions, and that was it - she had it under control. I would randomly email her an entire list of unrelated questions, and she would get back to me quickly, without batting an eye. I credit the weekend running as smoothly as it did completely to her. At the end of the night, after returning to our room, she had even left for us all the gifts, some food, and slices of cake. It was those extra touches that made her help truly special. Caitlin Belton(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-09-2014 For starters, Sugarbush provides a planner as part of the wedding package. This is invaluable. Our planner, Calli Willette, was exceptional and met our every needs. On the wedding day, Calli set everything up and helped coordinate all the other vendors reducing our stress level. We originally had planned on having our ceremony outside in the upper field. It unfortunately was cold and rainy, but the transition to the inside location (Timbers) was seamless and did not look like a \"B\" location. Timbers was a beautiful location and presented a very intimate ceremony. The food, service and lodging were all excellent. Sugarbush was very accommodating for all of our out of town guests and even accommodated RV parking for those camping. It was a first class experience. Reviewed on 22-09-2014
Carla Pherson(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-08-2014 My husband and I were married at the top of the Gate House chair, with our reception at Timbers restaurant. We chose Sugarbush because we are skiers and Sugarbush has sentimental value for us. Also because Killington couldn't seem to wrap their heads around the fact that we wanted to get married ON the mountain! \r\rWhile we were thrilled with the venue itself, we were disappointed in some aspects of the execution. Part of our disappointment may have been due to the fact that we were passed around to three different wedding coordinators before finally settling on our final one, who was overloaded with events due to our previous coordinator quitting with no notice, two weeks before our wedding! \r\rWe had a very specific vision for our reception and while the staff at Timbers did a wonderful job of catering to our non-traditional reception ideas, we felt that some of the nuances of our passed hors d'oeuvres reception were lost in translation from one coordinator to the next. We were also frustrated that we had to travel 2 hours to Sugarbush 3 times to meet with 3 different coordinators in an effort to ensure that our vision was understood each time we were passed on to a new person, with no effort made to address the fact that we were inconvenienced because of their staffing issues.\r\rOverall, the venue is amazing, was exactly what we were looking for! Just make sure you take very diligent notes when you meet with sales to ensure everything you are promised is passed on accurately to your coordinator, and update those notes each time you talk with your coordinator, as you may need to have the same conversation again!\r\rOh, and if you have an after-party, don't do it at Castlerock Pub - the bartender was so aggressively rude to my Maid of Honor when she asked if he could play a song for us that she was in tears! Meg Pedrick(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-06-2014 From my first meeting to select the venue through my wedding day Sugarbush exceeded all of my expectations. It is a true full season resort with amazing buildings and beautiful landscaping in the summer. I looked at many venues in Vermont (the Round Barn, Shelburne Farms, etc) and Sugarbush was by far the most convenient for guests, most beautiful, and (best of all!!) an amazing value for the price - a rare combination. Their team worked tirelessly to make sure our wedding was exactly what we envisioned - Calli and Andrea made sure everything was perfect and patiently dealt with every tiny question/concern/request I had. Every guest was amazed by the entire event and I was amazed by the quality. It looked like a much more expensive wedding than our actual cost. They even provided beautiful decor in addition to what I brought myself. I can't recommend Sugarbush highly enough. A well kept secret in the beautiful Vermont countryside. If you're trying to decide and have only been in the winter for skiing, try and visit in the summer - it's stunning. Reviewed on 04-07-2014
Jocelyn Bahr(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-10-2013 My husband and I were married on October 13th, 2013. We choose Sugarbush for the beautiful outside ceremony space and the promise of a private ceremony and reception. \r\rSeven days before our wedding, I was told by the wedding planner that Sugarbush's first annual October Fest was scheduled on the day of my wedding. I was told my ceremony and cocktail hour site's would have to move. \r\rFive days before the wedding, this was sorted out-somewhat. Security guards were hired for my wedding, there were several emails back and forth advocating to the Sugarbush staff why we did not want October Fest guests directly near our ceremony (which we had been promised would be private). \r\rFour days before my wedding, we were told Sugarbush had purchased new tables earlier in the year and the seating arrangements were had made would not make. Unfortunately, we had handmade the table numbers with corresponding place settings. This was sorted out after my husband explained the math and make a diagram for the Sugarbush staff. \r\rJust before I walked down the aisle, there were approximately twenty people (not wedding guests) who were standing directly next to my ceremony. When asked to have those people cleared out (as we had previously discussed and had in writing) the wedding planner rolled her eyes, and told me, the bride that once I walked down the aisle they would leave. When I began to cry and my mom went to ask the people to clear out, the wedding planner then went outside to ask them leave. While my husband was waiting for me to walk down the aisle, a October Fest guest who was drunk, spilled beer on a groomsman and then attempted to give my husband wedding advice. \r\rAfter the wedding, we never contacted to ask about experience. I have never been so disappointed. I understand that things will never go perfectly, however an apology and basic customer service was all were asking for. \r\rI would NEVER recommend getting married at Sugarbush. I could go on an on about how helpful everyone was and how smoothly everything went.\rThe only sligjhtly negative thingI could say is that at times, during planning, there were some communication issues and mixed messages from different staff members.
