Nestled amongst 12 acres of vineyard in the scenic countryside just south of Des Moines, Summerset Winery is a truly unique venue for your upcoming event. Our banquet hall and outdoor ceremony space can seat up to 250 guests. Be it large or small, our facility offers a beautiful venue for every type of event. Also located on the vineyard just steps from the winery is the Inn at Summerset Winery, which is a home available to rent for your wedding party with 10 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms sleeping 26 people! Our vineyard, banquet facility and Inn, have everything you need to make your event one to remember.

We chose Summerset for our wedding venue and they did an amazing job. They were very flexible to work with and gave us good communication throughout. The event coordinator Haley did an amazing job organizing our wedding. She was very easy to work with and worked well planning everything with our vendors and with us.

We had some issues arise with an outside bartender we ordered. Haley at Summerset reallyStepped in and saved the day, along with the bartenders from the venue, who we originally didn’t think we needed. Thank god they were there. Haley was so professional, and so on top of anything and everything we needed throughout the entire process, especially in a time of crisis. Words cannot express my appreciation for Summerset, and Haley.

We honestly couldn’t recommend Summerset Winery more!!! It was everything we dreamed of and our wedding day was so beautiful! The coordinators were friendly, flexible, and so enjoyable to work with. The barn patio and tent were perfect for our wedding and fit all of our guests (250+) comfortably! The INN on the property was the ideal place for our friends and family to stay and added a “weekend retreat” feel to everything!! Summerset Winery worked super hard to give our wedding every extra touch to be so beautiful! Booking with them was the best wedding planning choice we made… I know we’ll keep coming back to visit for many years!!!

Summerset is so beautiful! Our wedding was 10/10/2020! We had the ceremony on the patio and the reception in the banquet hall. If you have any out of town people staying, I'd recommend getting the Inn. It's gorgeous!! The scenery is breathtaking. The first time I took my mom there, she said that it looked like a Hallmark movie.Besides of how immaculate the place is, the staff we're so kind and very helpful.

Summerset is so beautiful! Our wedding was 10/10/2020! We had the ceremony on the patio and the reception in the banquet hall. If you have any out of town people staying, I'd recommend getting the Inn. It's gorgeous!! The scenery is breathtaking. Emily at summerset was absolutely incredible to work with. Her customer service is some of the best I’ve ever received. She went out of her way to help us make sure we were happy, comfortable, and pleased with our experience. She was unbelievably patient with me and always polite. She has an outstanding relationship with all of the venders we worked with, which made it very easy to coordinate with them all. I cannot day enough thanks or good words about Emily. She truly made our experience fantastic.

Summerset is gorgeous, the staff are wonderful and easy to work with, and it's the perfect location for a wedding if you're looking for something outside the city and more rustic with beautiful scenery.The staff were great throughout the entire planning process, especially Emily who answered all of my emails quickly and made sure our ceremony and reception went smoothly without any issues, including keeping our outdoor ceremony outdoors even though it was stormy earlier in the afternoon. If you're looking for a ceremony here, it's beautiful. I did mine outside on the back patio, with the vineyard as a backdrop. They provide all the chairs and wine barrels, and we rented an arch. Summerset was cool with offering a pre-ceremony glass of wine, which made for a laid-back vibe. We did the cocktail hour in the downstairs area - there was plenty of space for our guest count of 100. The reception was upstairs. There is NO elevator (NOT HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE - important to know). It's a beautiful space - dance floor, high ceilings with tulle drapery provided. Perfect for our guest count, but it may start to get crowded if you're over 150-ish. The rental fee is a little steep, but Summerset's wine/beer pricing was very reasonable and they were very flexible with our vendors which was why we ultimately decided the fee was worth it. We were able to select Hy-Vee Fleur for the catering, which saved a lot of money. We loved Summerset, and I would recommend to anyone shopping for a venue.

Summerset made my wedding dreams come to life. It was everything we wanted and more. Emily was amazing and so hands on, she was so helpful and very quick to answer emails with any questions I had. The Inn at Summerset was beautiful and I would suggest anyone that is getting married there should rent the Inn. Our close family and friends LOVED it. Hands down one of the best places to getting married in Iowa.

Lovely venue! My daughter had a beautiful wedding last weekend at the winery. Although the wedding ceremony was not shaded and therefore quite hot in July, the view when the bride walks down the aisle is breath-taking, and it my view, this makes up for the heat. Inside are two main rooms--a lovely room for greeting guests and a fabulous reception hall upstairs. The reception area could not have been nicer. Inside is fully air conditioned and they keep the shop below open for wine tasting for the guests. Their wine is outstanding. It is no hardship to select from their wines to serve at the reception. The staff is friendly and helpful. Emily, the wedding planner, gave us excellent advice and was willing to change things around last minute when I wanted it. The venue is also reasonably priced and all costs and regulations are well-explained before you sign up. I would recommend, however, booking the inn when you book the venue. The only downside to this venue is that there is no room for the bride and groom to get ready unless you book the inn. It was already reserved for our date, so we did not have the option. I certainly would have done that, and we still would have come in under the cost of most venues around here.

The staff at Summerset was so kind and helpful with assisting us plan our September 10, 2016 wedding. We held both our ceremony and reception at the facility. Living in the Chicagoland area, my family went to look at the venue and, by their word, we booked even before my (now) husband and I saw it. The staff changed hands pretty close to our wedding, however Anne was very professional and treated our questions as a priority. We rented the Inn for our bridal party to stay at - and if it's in your budget, I would definitely recommend it. The Inn was a fantastic way for our bridal party to get to know one another and hang out the weekend of the wedding. What a blast. The day before our wedding, the staff let us in to decorate the upstairs reception area, which was helpful so we weren't rushed the day of. When a storm rolled in right before our rehearsal, Summerset accommodated us on the first floor of the building. Day of the wedding, we had nothing to worry about. Staff helped make sure all our vendors had everything they needed and they even assisted with some of the decor! The vines were a perfect scene for our ceremony - and we couldn't have asked for a better day!Thank you Summerset for making our wedding days the most beautiful and wonderful day of our lives.

Beautiful location just outside of Des Moines, Iowa. We also rented the Inn at Summerset Winery to host all of our out of town guests. The house was spacious, the venue was lovely and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had the perfect day. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a unique and beautiful location just outside of Des Moines.

Beautiful location just outside of Des Moines, Iowa. We also rented the Inn at Summerset Winery to host all of our out of town guests. Summerset was a great venue for our Fall Wedding. The owner and wedding coordinator are easy to work with and my guests all had a blast. You get a discount on the wine also if you purchase ahead of time. We were very please with using Summerset for our reception venue.

If you are looking for a great outdoor space in Des Moines with a rustic feel, definitely look into Summerset!\r\rEverything about our wedding there was perfect! Our ceremony took place outside on the patio overlooking the vineyard and the reception was upstairs in the banquet room. Both spaces are gorgeous and there is an additional space inside that can be used as a backup ceremony space or cocktail hour. \r\rOverall the winery is very reasonable priced and the staff is friendly and accomodating. Everyone went out of their way to ensure that our day was exactly as we imagined it. We were also able to decorate on Friday which took a lot of the stress out of the day on Saturday. \r\rAll of our guests were very impressed and can't stop talking about our beautiful location!!

This place was absolutely amazing and affordable. The cost of the reception rental was under $2,000, which is hard to find near the Des Moines area. We thought that the views from the balcony and deck were stunning and breathtaking. They were very helpful when we were getting things ready for the reception and up to the wedding. They offered great advice and help when planning the wedding. They also have worked with our vendors before and there were no problems that came up! The wine was delicious and affordable and the fact that we were able to bring in our own alcohol to serve for the wedding made a huge difference for our reception. If you want breathtaking views and a beautiful reception hall pick this winery. They also have an inn that you can rent over the weekend for family and friends to stay at!

I thought this would be the perfect place to have our reception but it turned out to be a nightmare. In our contract it stated we could bring in outside liquor but 3 weeks before the reception they said they couldn't allow that anymore, also said there linen company would provide any color we needed for our napkins and they at the last minute no longer offered our color, last but not least you are not allowed to use there fridges or ice so we had to keep running back and forth to the Hyvee to get ice

Overall, my experience with the Summerset Winery was a positive one. They were very willing to work with us with any concerns or requests we had had. They were much more flexible than most places. It was a Beautiful venue, the only downfall was it was a tad more expensive... but since we were able to bring our own food in, it made up for the venue cost. Nice people, nice place, overall amazing memories! :)

You won't find any locally grown wine that is better. We chose not to use the wine list at our reception site and pay a cork fee to use Summerset wine! Our guests loved it!

While Summerset was one of our more pricey options for a venue, the location is worth the price. They have an AMAZING view of a large tree scape and the city of Des Moines way off in the background. The area is just lovely, and worth the price. Downfall= no deposit.. must pay in full to reserve date.
