Miscellaneous .(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-01-2024 We did not end up having our wedding here due to personal reasons, but we did go through looking through a few contracts and talking with one of their sales managers for a few weeks. Layne was wonderful and extremely helpful! She answered all of our questions and was a pleasure to work with. The contract itself was vague initially and had to be written up a couple different times in order for us to get a clear idea of how much the cost was going to be, but after asking questions, we were able to get more clarity on that. Although we didn't end up getting married here, our experience working with their team was great, and the venue itself is spectacular and gorgeous. Reviewed on 04-11-2022
Lindsey Gullikson(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-10-2022 If you are thinking about Suncadia for your wedding please please read this. As a PNW native, I have loved Suncadia for the views and location my whole life. The mountains and trees made for a gorgeous setting for our ceremony and reception. But their staff that handles all of the events/weddings, horrible. We worked with 4 different people in the time of planning our wedding there and only 1 was helpful and she ended up leaving her role there. The lack of communication between all their staff was comical. Where we had our reception, there is this little building that rents out kayaks, paddle boards, etc. during the summer and they were not told to be shut down that day. We also had a small group go into the Inn after our reception and the bartender there was not aware of that as well. With the gal that was the 4th person we ended up working with, she was no where to be seen day of to direct her staff and not only did one of my bridal party have some words with her, but all 3 did. One even heard her complaining about a box we had left, (it was going to be moved by us, we were still setting up) saying that it was \"not her problem\" to one of her staff. I would also recommend getting EVERYTHING in writing/email from them. We asked for only TWO types of wine at our reception, and TWO types of beer and ended up getting FOUR of each. I also recommend getting the final estimate a week before the wedding as they gave it to us DAY OF and it was $15k over a number they had given us the night before (again, comical now looking back at it). Our timeline also did not mean anything to them as they put the food out way earlier than we planned to start having dinner. Same with the passed apps we had during cocktail hour, they were cold while being served.Over all, if you fall in love with the location and the views just be over prepared and understand that you will have to do everything day of and to triple check that they have everything in line on their end. Delaney Merrick(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-01-2018 Overall, the location and venue were nice, but the service varied greatly. The spa, banquets, and the servers and bartenders were amazing. However, reservations, planning, and sales needed work. We were left with a beautiful event at the end of the day, but we had to fit tooth and nail to have it be that way. It felt like every step of the way was an inconvenience to someone and we definitely got the run around, having to contact a different person for every aspect, instead of having a cohesive contact. Perhaps our experience would have been better if we had used a wedding planner, but then someone else would have just had to deal with it. The chef changed the sauce on the gnocchi for the reception to be cream based, instead of the browned butter sauce we had tasted, even though when they asked, I told them to please not change it as we have a lot of lactose intolerant family members. Lauren Devine(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-06-2017 Our June wedding at Suncadia was beautiful. This was in no small part due the extraordinary expertise from a third party wedding planner. Suncadia’s wedding coordinators were disorganized and unprofessional. We ended up booking the Inn at Suncadia. The views from the ceremony site were lovely despite looking over a golf course. We weren’t thrilled with the idea of getting married on a golf course but the initial Suncadia’s coordinator assured us that it was their policy to stop golf carts from driving by during the ceremony.Everything went smoothly for a few months but then Suncadia’s coordinator stopped replying. Our wedding planner found out that Suncadia’s coordinator was no longer there and had to hunt down our new coordinator.Communication with the new coordinator was terrible. We would send an email or call, and we would not hear anything back for weeks. During the menu tasting, we were informed that our second Suncadia wedding coordinator would not be present on our wedding day and that another person would be there to ensure that everything proceeded smoothly.Due to the communication issues, we requested everything in writing to minimize confusion on the wedding day. We had a contract with the venue, but this did not include many of the details that had been agreed upon. We tried multiple times, in multiple ways, to communicate this desire for written confirmation. We received only a blank excel spreadsheet to figure out the exact expenses ourselves and our emails requesting written confirmation were often only met with a “yes.” We did not see Suncadia’s third coordinator until the day of our wedding, and we only saw her briefly. We were assured separate getting ready rooms for the bridal party on multiple occasions. After an email from Suncadia confirming the groom’s ready room, I politely sent an inquiry to confirm that the bridal room would be available, and never received a response. When I arrived at the room to get ready, the room was full of trash and additional banquet supplies. I found our wedding planner, since I could not find the Suncadia coordinator, and she tracked down someone to clean the room. We had to start getting ready as the staff was cleaning around us! I was not a demanding bride, and my only other request was that the flag on the last hole of the golf course would be set down during the short ceremony so that it would not be in pictures. Suncadia assured us this was possible. As we were getting ready, our wedding planner informed us the grounds keeper knew nothing about stopping the golf carts or taking down the golf flag during the ceremony. They had to have instructions by a supervisor to perform these tasks and no one could be reached by phone. Therefore, these requests were not met and a golf cart zoomed past our wedding site during the ceremony.Lastly, Suncadia over charged us $3000. We contacted Suncadia’s coordinator and her supervisor, and they were swift in figuring out the error. But it took over 3 weeks to get reimbursed for the inappropriate charges. All in all, Suncadia is a beautiful venue and the food and wait staff were great. However, I would not recommend booking a wedding with them unless you have an amazing wedding planner. Reviewed on 29-08-2017

Renee Bull(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-09-2015 There is no doubt Suncadia is amazingly beautiful and the perfect spot for a large wedding when you have a lot of traveling family as I did. My guests had an amazing time, golfing, riding, swimming and hiking. The day of the wedding was complete chaos for my vendors because they double booked the venue. Because it was double booked things got missed and done incorrectly. My wedding coordinator took on the majority of this stress and said she had never seen such disorganization and miscommunication within such a large company. In the end the wedding was beautiful and I was ultimately happy, but for the amount of money I spent and time it took to plan, I expected much more out of Suncadia. Reviewed on 29-09-2015
Lauren Calabrese(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-07-2013 If I could select 0 Stars I would. It took me 14 months to write this review without getting too angry to finish typing. We had our wedding there and it was an utter service disaster. They didn't follow the banquet orders we created with their events manager and painstakingly went over a million times with them before we signed them. Here's the short story: We paid for two bartenders and they only had one at the reception who had a broken arm. The poor hobbled bartender was overwhelmed and was uncorking whole wine bottles and handing them to guests instead of pouring glasses. Mind you, Suncadia was charging us a $15 corkage fee per bottle. Guests were waiting up to 15 mins for a drink and then literally just handed an entire bottle even if they only ordered a glass. They were supposed to move the kegs we purchased from the cocktail hour down to the reception area and failed to do so. Instead they started charging our guests even though we had paid for all the beer and wine. Talk about embarrassing. They didn't have enough servers to serve the food and some guests ended up with just meat and no veggies or visa visas versa. People were looking around confused and had to request the entire meal. The tent they provide was a mess with the draping hung crooked and wrinkled. It just looked messy. It was a far cry from the tent they showed to us when we toured the property and decided to have our wedding there. The never cleared the tables of glasses and the water station that was included in the bill was nowhere to be found. As the bride, I couldn't find water for me or one of my 10 pregnant friends I had in attendance. It was 90 degrees out that day and the tent was hot with no venting. They didn't offer us the discounted room block to our guests that they promised in the beginning until we threatened to back out of the wedding all together. The list goes on and on and on and ON. Too much for one review. Suncadia charges 5 star prices and delivers less than 1 star service. They lack qualified leadership and are in need of someone to train their staff properly. Many of our guests mentioned to us it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to! Our hope was that there would be snow on our wedding day, and there certainly was. It was like a true fairytale saying I do to the love of my life with an incredible view of the mountains as the snow was falling. All of our guests were able to make a weekend getaway and spend the night, so the party never had to end. It was fun for all! Reviewed on 26-02-2014
