Sunflower Hill is a great venue for your ceremony and reception located only an hour from Minneapolis/St. Paul and less than ÂĽ mile from the St. Croix Falls Holiday Inn Express and located in the heart of the valley near interstate park. Sunflower Hill wedding site offers the convenience and beauty of our scenic river valley city and yet is tucked away in the farm hills for a beautiful garden/country setting. At Sunflower Hill we are extremely dedicated to making you feel like you are getting luxury service at a hometown rate. As a bonus included in our packages, we offer access to our decor garage full of trendy decor. We also offer in house floral design services. Sunflower Hill would love to help bring your special day to life!

By far the greatest venue one could choose. The owner is very professional, at no point did we ever feel uneasy about our decision. Communication through planning, setting up, and day of was perfect. Onsite decorations was a huge selling point. The owner helped us design our look, set it up, and tear it down. It was awesome to skip on buying decorations we would likely never use again. The barn/reception area has great bathrooms (very clean, commercial grade) and a perfect setup for a bar/bartender. The ceremony area has great atmosphere and continues the theme with an archway, plants, and flowers. The back drop for the ceremony has rolling farm land and mature trees. We chose a fall date and the colors were great. I can not stress enough how this venue helped reduce the workload and planning that comes along with having a wedding. You should absolutely tour this venue and highly consider it as your option.

I would give Sunflower Hill and Emily 10 stars if I could. From the moment we stepped foot on the property we were in awe of how beautiful the venue was. And then we met Emily!! We felt so seen and special throughout the whole process and then she went above and beyond our expectations to do everything in her power to make our day and weekend absolutely perfect. From the incredibly well kept and beautiful flower beds and property to helping us create amazing table centerpieces using her garage of beautiful materials, to being there to support behind the scenes the whole time on our wedding day. I am so grateful for Emily and Sunflower Hill for making our wedding so special.We had all our flowers done by Emily and they were all incredible. Gorgeous bouquets, centerpieces, aisle accents. We got so many compliments! Emily also used extra flowers to decorate the house which was such a special touch.We LOVED getting to stay on the property for the whole weekend with our bridal party. Our guests loved that the cows came out during the ceremony. Thank you so much Emily for sharing your beautiful venue with us. We are incredibly grateful and could not recommend it enough!

This venue is amazing. A great area with lots of space. Having the house on site to stay is very convenient and helpful. The owners were always a phone call or text away and very helpful. They do flowers in house and have a great selection of decorations to choose from.

This venue was a no-brainer! This was the only venue we ever looked at & it had everything we were looking for & so much more! The scenery is breath taking they take such good care of their property. Emily was so great to work with & gave me so much peace of mind when it came to our big day. Our favorite part was the fully decorated reception area & Emily set up center pieces on all the tables before we checked in to her beautiful farm house that we got to stay in the whole weekend which was so convenient! This venue was a no-brainer! This was the only venue we ever looked at & it had everything we were looking for & so much more! The scenery is breath taking they take such good care of their property. I cannot speak highly enough of Sunflower Hill and its incredible manager Emily. I just had my wedding/10th anniversary there over labor day weekend and it was simply the most beautiful and magical experience of my life. Getting to stay at the cottage onsite with the wedding party and having access to the grounds and barn all weekend was perfect (we did our rehearsal dinner there Friday night, wedding Saturday, and even a casual brunch on Sunday before check-out). Emily also did fabulous florals for the event, including the most incredible flower crown, and *all* of it was ridiculously inexpensive. As soon as folks started arriving for the rehearsal on Friday, they couldn't stop raving about how beautiful the entire site was, from the sunflower field (which Emily said was struggling but magically bloomed plenty of flowers for our weekend!), to the eucalyptus botanicals in the barn, to the multiple outdoor gathering spaces. The whole weekend Emily was quietly making sure everything went incredibly smoothly, both with and without the help of our coordinator. I have to toot my own horn and share that *many* people told us it was one of the best weddings they've ever attended, and that was in no small part due to the gorgeous setting and attention to small details that Emily ensured all weekend. The entire grounds had enormous and thriving flowers planted all over and it was so special to be there with all my loved ones. Emily was also incredibly communicative throughout the whole planning process and I wouldn't have done a thing differently if I had to do it again.I could write a novel about how glad I am that we chose Sunflower Hill for our wedding. My partner and I were discussing what special thing we could do for our 10th anniversary and decided to get married. The only thing I'd ever dreamed about having at my wedding was a sunflower field and Sunflower Hill was the first (and only) venue we visited. The details and deal were all too good to pass up and I'm confident we made the right call. If you're considering this venue, stop considering and book it and enjoy the most magical time of your life!I'm already looking forward to getting everyone back together at Sunflower Hill for our 20th anniversary in 2033 :)

Sunflower Hill was an amazing venue! Emily was so friendly and easy to work with. Our guests loved the large venue space and all of the beautiful flowers, many of our guests took beautiful pictures of themselves and their family’s! A huge part of why we picked Sunflower Hill was because of the decoration garage, there are hundreds of decorations to choose from and we ended up not having to buy any additional decorations. We are so glad we picked Sunflower Hill for our special day.

Sunflower Hill was an amazing venue! Emily was so friendly and easy to work with. Our guests loved the large venue space and all of the beautiful flowers, many of our guests took beautiful pictures of themselves and their family’s! This venue is absolutely gorgeous. The flowers growing all over the property were beautiful with many unique varieties. The pole barn was decorated with tons of dried flowers and flowers on every table. Emily has a small barn which contains many, many decorations you can use if you so choose. Emily was on site throughout the event, tidying up, taking care of any questions, always available. She had a list of vendors to help you select one that would work for you. I can’t recommend Sunflower Hill more highly. You won’t regret your decision to have your event there.

This venue is absolutely gorgeous. The flowers growing all over the property were beautiful with many unique varieties. We had our wedding at Sunflower Hill in July 2023 and it was the absolute perfect place for us to say “I do”. I honestly can’t think of a place that could have been more us. So happy we found it. First of all, Emily is amazing to work with! Always available to answer questions and frequently checked in during the weekend to make sure all was going well. Second, the entire area outside is gorgeous. From the flowers to the trees, the ceremony area to the mosaic car … everywhere you turn there’s something that catches your eye. Even the cows milling about during the ceremony got some camera time. We had so many guests tell us how cool and unique of venue it is. Third, the reception area. Let me tell you how awesome it was to not have to decorate. It was already done. And when we wanted to add some extras, there was a whole garage of stuff to choose from. We didn’t have to buy or bring anything but the flowers. Fourth, we had the entire venue for the weekend and even stayed at the little cottage on-site. It was nice for the both of us and our guests to have everything all in one spot. Lastly, the new bathrooms and bar area added just a little something extra. I celebrated my brother and sister-in-law getting married at Sunflower Hill a few weeks back! It was simply spectacular! The ceremony site is stunning. The house was a perfect getting ready space. The reception venue was perfection. The bathrooms are spacious and clean. It was truly a wonderful experience!!

Highly reccomend this venue, it is beautiful and exactly what we were looking for . We had an amazing experience working with Emily, she responds quickly and is a delight to work with. She has plenty of decorations to use they come with the venue price. She also doubles as the florist for this venue and she did an AMAZING job! Every detail of our bouquets, tables, ceremony area to hanging flowers from the chandeliers was beautiful. She does it all !

The venue is extremely well maintained & you can tell Emily cares deeply about making your experience wonderful. She made planning a wedding waaaay less stressful & we cannot say enough how much we loved our venue!!!! There are countless places to have beautiful photos taken (we also did our engagement photos at the venue) and all decor is included (she has soooooooooooo much to offer which saved us TONS of money). We used people from her recommended vendor list & they were affordable and did an awesome job! The space to get ready in is absolutely adorable. If we could do our wedding over again - we wouldn't change a single thing! Sunflower Hill is THE BEST!!! Thank you so much, Emily!!!!

This venue is incredible. This was our first venue we stopped at and immediately knew this was the one that would be perfect for us. Emily does such an amazing job in so many areas. My husband and I got married on the June 10th and Emily did so much to help us navigate through everything regarding the venue. And the week or so before? If I had questions I could text Emily and she would get back to me with the questions I had. Emily knows what she’s doing and she is a true professional. This venue gives a true feeling of what a real outdoor wedding experience is. I am so thankful we came across this “needle in a haystack” of a venue! Emily and all other individuals that go into making Sunflower Hill as incredible as it is, deserve the recognition and attention!! All of our guests still keep saying how beautiful and amazing this venue is. 🌼🤍🌼🤍

Emily, the owner, was so accommodating in every way regarding questions, concerns, set up, decor, and accommodations. She provided a separate working area and tools for creating fresh arrangements and an encased floral cooler to keep the bouquets and greenery fresh. It was the best accommodating venue I have ever worked with. I look forward to the next opportunity to plan with Emily and be a part of this venue and events.

Emily runs the weddings at the venue but her whole family works on the surrounding property which makes it perfect for anyone who wants a family run site. Emily was amazing at responding to every single email or stupid question we had. The best part is she has a shed full of decor for weddings to use! It has EVERYTHING. I couldn’t even express how easy and how smoothly everything went thanks you Emily and all her hard work! She was responding to emails from my florist at 6am the day before my wedding! Sunflower hill was our perfect venue and I couldn’t have pictured a more perfect place! I feel incredibly thankful and blessed to have had my wedding there!

My fiancé and I looked at a few other venues and nothing really sparked our interest but when we pulled up the sunflower hill we were already interested. When we met Emily the owner she was so friendly and always had a smile on her face. She explained everything so well and answered all of our questions. There is a huge shed that can hold up to 300 guests!! We had about 200 which was perfect. The porta potties are honestly so cool for just normal looking porta potties. The house was so perfect for my bridesmaids and I to sleep in Friday night and get ready Friday morning, I swear the whole upstairs is just dedicated to getting ready!! She has a whole garage FULL of decor for the wedding. So we didn’t have to really worry about centerpieces, she set everything up for us!! And we did real flowers through her and she put those all on each table for us. Like how incredible?! Our ceremony was beautiful and it was outside underneath a silo and it was perfect. The outside of this property is covered in all kinds of beautiful flowers which makes it so colorful and I loved that so much. I would recommend this venue over and over again. I can’t stop reminiscing about this day. Emily made it so easy. And she answers your emails/texts within minutes, which also says a lot!! It was so perfect

Sunflower Hill was the absolute most beautiful venue to get married at. Emily was so helpful and kind making sure everything was perfect for us. We’ve received so many compliments about how beautiful the whole venue was, we could have gone without a single piece of decor and the place would have been just as stunning! I felt like I was living a fairytale, it was the most amazing day ever. Thank you Emily and Gus for making all of my dreams come true.

Sunflower Hill was the absolute most beautiful venue to get married at. Emily was so helpful and kind making sure everything was perfect for us. We’ve received so many compliments about how beautiful the whole venue was, we could have gone without a single piece of decor and the place would have been just as stunning! I felt like I was living a fairytale, it was the most amazing day ever. Thank you Emily and Gus for making all of my dreams come true.

emily was so amazing!! I basically told her what my vision was and she made it happen. the venue and the ceremony were absolutely beautiful, it was what I always envisioned for my wedding day. we were planning a outdoor ceremony and it ended up snowing so we had to move it inside and Emily made sure it went smoothly and it was still a beautiful ceremony indoors. we got the house a weekend to get ready and stay in and it was beautiful. I would recommend sunflower hill over and over again!

emily was so amazing!! I basically told her what my vision was and she made it happen. the venue and the ceremony were absolutely beautiful, it was what I always envisioned for my wedding day. we were planning a outdoor ceremony and it ended up snowing so we had to move it inside and Emily made sure it went smoothly and it was still a beautiful ceremony indoors. we got the house a weekend to get ready and stay in and it was beautiful. I would recommend sunflower hill over and over again!

Emily was absolutely wonderful to work with! She made everything so easy with our planning, was flexible while we figured out our final guest count, included flowers in our package. The bridesmaid and Bride were able to get ready in the house and have hair and makeup done in one place, which made everything so easy! There were many beautiful options for pictures on site that we didn't have to go anywhere else! I would recommend Emily and Sunflower to anyone looking to get married. To say it was Perfect doesn't seem to be enough, but it was perfect​!

Five stars isn't enough for how awesome our experience was with Sunflower Hill and Emily. She was super friendly and accommodating and took our idea of books and birdcages and made it come to life. She was able to recommend vendors from the area to meet our needs as well. Our wedding would not have been this perfect if we had gone anywhere else. Definitely recommended!

I had my wedding at Sunflower Hill this weekend and I was blown away by my experience. Emily, the coordinator, was always friendly, answered questions promptly, and made my experience so fantastic. She let our families do our own thing while also making herself available to us anytime. We had such a relaxed, fun experience and never felt stressed or rushed. She did my flowers too and they turned out absolutely stunning, exactly what I asked for. The venue looked like something straight out of Pinterest: beautiful natural scenery for the ceremony, gorgeous lighting throughout, and so many decor options available. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this venue, I’m so happy that I was able to get married there and will have the beautiful memories for life!

Emily was our florist and we could not be happier with the way our flowers turned out. From the centerpieces to the arbor, they were absolutely gorgeous. We had a winter wedding, and the flowers she chose/colors/the look of it all fit the feel of our wedding perfectly. Cannot say enough good things about this venue. The barn they built is so awesome and they helped make my vision come true! My best friend got married here and it was such an incredibly Beautiful wedding venue! It was so cute and quaint and BEAUTIFULLY decorated with sunflowers and antique/rustic things. 5 stars are definitely not enough!

Sunflower Hill was AMAZING to say the least! Everything turned out perfect just like Emily said it would. We let her design the flowers and do what she thought, they were absolutly stunning!!! My experience with Emily from the very first phone call was absolutely incredible. And I found her by accident after a Google search! I wasn't able to have my wedding at her venue because of our own scheduling issues, but she offered to do our flowers since we were getting married nearby. Emily and I emailed multiple times, she graciously accepted all of my pictures and ideas. She even invited my sister, bridesmaid and I to her home to discuss my vision further and she sent us home with farm-fresh eggs! For city dwellers that was a real treat. When my wedding day finally arrived, Emily delivered in a big way. She brought us an arbor, hay bales, flowers galore (including vases!) and a huge smile. My bouquet and all of the flowers was one of my favorite parts of the wedding day. They were lush with greenery, hydrangea, roses and peonies. The peonies slowly opened throughout the day and lasted for days. I loved it so much that I am preserving them!! I could hardly stop smelling them and looking at them. Those flowers looked like something out of a magazine. Emily even stopped at the salon on her way to the venue to bring me special flowers for my hair. When she came to the venue, she brought her family and puppy to say hello which made it even more special. We know that we supported a family business and that means a lot as we start our own family :) To say I was impressed would be an understatement. It's hard to find people that truly put love into their work, but Emily is one of them. She is kind, genuine, creative and so skilled. Add to that affordable and you really can't say no. Work with Sunflower Hill and you WILL have the best wedding day. Thank you so much, from the both of us!

Our daughter’s wedding was at Sunflower Hill and we couldn’t have been happier. The flowers were gorgeous! The view is stunning. Emily, the co-owner, is bursting with energy and creativity and worked so hard to make it better than we even dreamed. We had so many compliments about the lovely ceremony from family and friends. Almost two weeks have gone by, and I’m still smiling when I think about how our daughter and new son-in-law had such a beautiful ceremony to start their lives together!

We still have family and friends telling us how gorgeous the ceremony was. You will not be disappointed with Sunflower Hill. They are so unique and have created such an incredible venue.

Emily Koecher-Chelberg (Owner) Hi! I'm Emily and Co-owner of Sunflower Hill. My brother is my business partner and does all the agricultural work at Sunflower Hill. I have a background in fashion design and enjoy all the details of weddings and events and would love to help bring your special event to life at our whimsical farm site. I have three kids and my husband and I have a hobby farm and enjoy tending to our gardens and animals when we're not doing projects and getting weddings ready at Sunflower Hill.
