Jessica Short(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-07-2022 This venue is very organized. They do everything to keep the bride, groom, wedding party, and family on time and where they need to be. They do everything in their power to make the wedding day perfect. I loved the vendors (photographer, bartender, and City BBQ) that they suggested. Reviewed on 01-08-2022

This venue had gorgeous scenery, immaculate grounds, and extremely organized staff. Where I felt there were opportunities for better customer service were the extremely strict and neurotic enforcement of rules. While none of the venue/ lodge rules were super unreasonable, many of my guests and I felt constantly micro-managed and under scrutiny. We were met at the lodge with signs everywhere with “reminders” of rules that my guests felt were somewhat aggressive. Staff told several guests they could not park at the lodge when unloading their things, despite us only having 2 cars there already (limit of 4 at a time). The experience didn’t feel very secluded, as staff commented on things like hearing my lodge guests and I singing by the pool after the wedding. While the staff were very kind One staff member joked that he “couldn’t wait for us to leave.” While I’m sure it was meant as deadpan humor, I felt it was an inappropriate comment and my bridal party was offended. A family member asked permission on Friday to bring a special bourbon for Saturday. He was told yes but when he arrived with it, he was reprimanded. They allowed him to put it behind the bar with a password, but when he went to retrieve it, he was stopped by staff. I get why guests cannot just enter the bar, but it took several family members speaking angrily to staff for them to allow someone to get them for him. While I know this was an exception to an understandable rule, my family did not feel they were treated kindly or as a priority. The wildflowers that I so hoped would be by the chapel were cut down before my wedding. I completely understand why they need to (growing seasons and such) but I was held responsible for keeping all 120+ guests off the grass around the chapel. I did my very best, but my family and I could not control every single person. I was stressed enough and didn’t need to hear about every guest that accidentally stepped off the path. There were no barriers and unclear signage. The level of micro managing was aggressive. My guests were bombarded with rude comments like “we don’t usually have groups like this.” Not one person was disruptive or blatantly intoxicated, and everyone I saw followed instructions when corrected. My bridal party woke up at 7 am just to make sure the house and barn were cleaned perfectly for check out. My planner and officiant both reported being yelled at and spoken to harshly by the venue coordinator. And after a happy but stressful weekend, we had packed up and were ready to leave when a staff member accused us, “who brought the dog?” My husband and I paid a lot of money to board our dog and every other guest who came in flew or does not own a dog. We had to spend an extra 30 minutes trying to convince them there was no dog. The owner showed us pictures of some hair (2-3 pieces) and by the end said she believed us but not our guests. The accusation made leaving feel bitter and frustrating after trying to be patient with them all weekend. I should not have been crying on the way home because I was falsely accused. I truly believe the staff are good people who have put so much heart into the venue and are very prepared for any questions that came up, but the lack of patience with my family left me embarrassed and very stressed. I know venues have a lot of rules, but everyone I spoke to said none others had as many as this. That does not make them unimportant, but made for frustrated guests and an embarrassed bride. Jennifer Robinson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-10-2021 Absolutely beautiful venue! Chapel, reception barn and 3 story cabin all on the same property. Accommodated 23 of us staying in the cabin together. Julie and her husband and staff were amazing and helped with everything to make it run so smooth. Their suggestions were very helpful. All of the decor that they offer to use is amazing , so much to choose from. Highly recommend this venue. We had a perfect wedding there and everyone had a great time. We used 3 of the vendors that she also recommended. You can’t go wrong at this venue. Reviewed on 13-10-2021
