Surf and Sand Resort is a tropical wedding venue located in Orange County, CA, reminiscent of a Mediterranean village. Nestled on the shoreline of Laguna Beach, this hotel is saturated with views of the Pacific Ocean and surrounded by pristine sandy beaches. This resort’s tranquil fountains, enticing cuisine, and exceptional ballrooms make it an ideal setting to celebrate your special day. Surf and Sand Resort has a number of indoor and outdoor venues on site where you can host your ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and more. The Catalina Terrace provides a stunning sunset and nautical backdrop as you say “I do”, and can accommodate up to 180 guests. Or you can say your vows by the water’s edge on the Ocean Terrace, holding up to 80 invitees. Surf and Sand Resort also has three reception venues to choose from. The Sandcastle Ballroom can host up to 60 guests, and the Sand Dollar Ballroom offers space for up to 80 people. For larger galas, the Pelican Ballroom can facilitate events with up to 180 guests and features vaulted ceilings, original artwork, a spacious dance floor, and large windows filled with ocean views. Surf and Sand Resort wants to help make your wedding experience as stress-free as possible. A complimentary oceanfront room is provided to couples on the night of their wedding, and accommodation for guests can also be arranged. A catering manager can assist with specialty vendor selection, the planning and execution of your reception, and seating assignment. Their culinary experts can help design a menu to suit all palates, along with wine pairings. Surf and Sand Resort can also provide a professional wedding coordinator to help plan your celebration. Expertly trained staff and bartenders will be present to set up and serve at your event, ensuring that everything runs smoothly. Just got married here on June 18th. It was beautiful. The wedding coordinator Alana Zee is the best, very helpful from the beginning to the end. The food was great as well. The view was breathtaking. Perfect for small weddings. We had a lot of fun on that day. Thanks to everybody at the resort that help us out on that day.

Hosting our wedding at Surf & Sand Resort was easily the single best decision we made throughout the entire wedding planning process.In January 2019, we visited Surf & Sand and met with Alana for a tour. She showcased the beautiful property and explained all of the costs and minimums associated hosting our wedding. It was stunning and within our budget and quickly became an instant \"yes\" for our original date in April 2020. Trust me, you cannot beat the magic that exists at Surf & Sand, especially for the price (compared to other resort weddings in the area).As you may remember, a global pandemic came through and ruined our plans. Immediately, Alana helped us pivot and reschedule our wedding for later that summer. This was during March 2020, the beginning phase of the pandemic, when nobody knew anything about how long it would last or what rules would dictate and all I was reading were horror stories from other brides online. This whole process with Surf & Sand was absolutely seamless. We originally booked an off-peak date and were given a peak date to accommodate without extra fees. As the late summer date loomed closer without any end in sight for the pandemic, we opted to postpone a second time, to July 2021. This, again, was absolutely seamless. Alana was always quick to answer my questions via email and was immensely helpful throughout the entire TWO AND A HALF YEARS I worked with her. Major kudos to her for her professionalism and quick response times when I was a little panicked.The day of the wedding was also as seamless as the entire experience thus far had been. I can honestly say I don't have a single regret about my wedding day. Everyone at the resort was friendly and accommodating and SO professional. We ended up hiring several of the vendors listed in the packet provided by Surf & Sand and were so glad we did! Everyone around really knew their stuff and provided the best service imaginable. The dining room host constantly checked in on us and even provided cake cutting for free the night of. The food was INCREDIBLE and my only wish was that I got to try any of the appetizers because I heard from guests that they were so delicious! All of our guests were beaming that the food and accommodations were absolutely spectacular. We were truly spoiled on our wedding day and I can safely say that Surf & Sand Resort (and Alana!) played major roles in that.

I am so happy I chose to have my wedding at the S&S ! It honestly was beyond perfect. The view is to die for on the Catalina terrace and I’m so pleased with how everything turned out. Lav was so organized and helped us so much throughout the whole process! The staff at S&S are amazing, nicest people ever! My husband and I are SO happy we celebrated the best day of our lives here!

My husband and I had always wanted to get married at the beach and the Surf and Sand Resort is the most incredible oceanfront wedding venue in Southern California! Not only are the views and grounds amazing, Alana Zee the on-site coordinator is a total rockstar! She made me feel so relaxed and I complete trusted that she had everything under control. Everyone at the resort was quick to respond to emails and made the whole planning process and day of as easy as possible. If you’re looking for a dream beach wedding, I would 100% recommend the Surf and Sand.

Incredible venue total beach access an absolutely phenomenal pictures. We could not have chosen a better venue for the beach. My husband and I wanted to get married on the beach and the surf and sand made that possible. The pictures were out of this world and the photos on the beach were absolutely incredible if you’re looking for a beach venue the surf and sand is definitely one to look into.

Alana Zee was our wedding coordinator and she was fabulous! She was so knowledgeable and helpful throughout our wedding planning process. She was always very responsive, professional, and friendly. On the day of the wedding she was so calm, helpful and organized. We are so impressed with how smoothly our wedding day went and could not be more pleased. The Surf and Sand Resort is a stunning wedding venue and all of our guests were blown away by the ocean views. The food st the reception was also amazing. Everyone from the valet, front desk, room service, coffee shop, and especially the wait staff at our reception were a pleasure and always so friendly and helpful. It was the best day of our lives and we are so grateful to Alana and the Surf and Sand Resort!

We had our dream wedding at the Surf and Sand! The location offers unparalleled views for the ceremony and cocktail hour; the staff was extremely attentive and capable throughout; the food and drink was fantastic; and the overall laid back, enjoyable, but not too \"beachy\" vibe were just what we wanted. I would recommend this as a wedding venue for any couple looking to tie the knot in Laguna Beach.

I recently had my wedding at Surf & Sand Resort on 6/30/18. We worked with Alana Zee and she was absolutely amazing!! From the beginning, she was quick to respond to emails and phone calls. She answered all of my questions in a timely manner. She was flexible and made my vision come to life! On the day of our wedding she was calm, collected, professional, and made my wedding day as smooth as possible! She is a friendly, outgoing person that made our experience wonderful! Surf and Sand is an absolutely beautiful venue on the coast and all of my guests were extremely impressed! The food was fabulous and the staff very friendly. As the bride and groom, we received a complimentary suite the night of the wedding, which was gorgeous! They even decorated it for us which was a nice surprise as newlyweds! I highly recommend getting married at Surf & Sand to any future bride and groom! The views are worth everything and the whole experience was absolutely amazing! We also enjoyed spending time at the pool, beach, and Splashes (restaurant on site) the whole weekend with friends and family!

The most perfect, beautiful magical wedding day: My husband and I got married on September 3rd, 2017, and I must say, Surf and Sand truly made our day spectacular. The whole experience in planning my wedding was overall positive and I had no complaints. Originally, our plan was a destination wedding in Maui so we were looking for alternatives. I happened to come across this place on a cell phone application called Wedding Spot. The app given us information of the venue as well as an estimate pricing, which was pretty close to what our actual cost was. I also looked up the reviews of this resort in multiple websites and from what I had seen was relatively positive. So we decided to check it out and made an appointment with them. They were responsive right away when we made a request. Ultimately, we decided to choose this place, mostly because of the beautiful view since it instantly reminded us of Hawaii. Also, with the price they gave us for 130 guests is the same as the price for Maui for 50 guests (excluding travel fee and accommodations). Not only that, they had a plan B in case the weather was bad. Erin Hopper was originally our coordinator however during the process, she left Surf and Sand. Alana Zee became our Coordinator, and she was perfect. She made our day perfect from beginning to end and helped created our dream wedding. She was very responsive when we asked questions and very organized. She was very receptive to what we want and would make it happen. She was very helpful and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and stress free. So I highly recommend her.Our ceremony was held in the Catalina Terrace and our reception was held in the Pelican room. During the ceremony, though the weather was a little overcast with some chance of rain, the ceremony went perfectly without a hitch. The Catalina Terrace was transformed into the wedding I wanted and it was beautiful, especially the ocean as our backdrop. The Pelican Room was very roomy and everyone could see what was going on during the reception. The room transformed beautifully and I felt like I was in the Hawaii luau (my theme was Hawaii-theme with a touch of Disney magic).We chose the Luau Buffet Package with four appetizers during cocktail hour and it was delicious, flavorful, and beyond our expectations. My guests were raving over the food and cannot get enough. I could still taste the food. Hotel rooms were a bit pricy, especially it was held on Labor Day weekend, but it was worth. They will give you discounted price and reserve the rooms in the Catalina Terrace. I do recommend booking those rooms if your wedding is held at the Catalina Terrace (you don't want to have some random stranger looking at your wedding). You do get a complimentary room for the night as the groom and bride so that's a plus. Booking the rooms for our guests was not hard at all. We had not complaints. All in all, I would highly recommend Surf and Sand for your wedding. Expect it to be pricy but well worth your money. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Food is excellent. Accommodations were comfortable and clean with the ocean view right below your balcony. I definitely found my perfect wedding here. :)

I was excited to tour this venue; however, nobody showed up to our confirmed appointment. I brought my family and maid of honor to the appointment, and we drove an hour to get there. The receptionist could not get ahold of the wedding coordinator. The manager was contacted and after multiple attempts, they still could not get ahold of her. We waited for 25min. We still have not gotten a call or email explaining what happened. This is unprofessional and disrespectful. What was supposed to be an exciting day turned out to be a huge disappointment. If this is how they handle an initial appointment, I would not trust them with my wedding.

I first saw this location through a celebrity I follow on Instagram and she had renewed her vows at Surf and Sand on the beach. I couldn't believe how beautiful the location was! Next thing I did was get in touch with Surf and Sand and we were BLESSED to have ERIN HOOPER! She was extremely friendly from the beginning and within the first couple minutes of speaking with her, we knew right away that Erin was very experienced and that we were in good hands.Throughout the entire process, Erin always quickly followed up with us, answering all of the many questions we had, and worked with our vision for the wedding. She understood it right away and that was something we appreciated when trying to plan a wedding. Not to mention she was always very calm and collected, never once showed any stress signals! When you have Erin, you don't need to look any further for a wedding planner or any additional help. She has EVERYTHING under control! :)Our wedding at Surf and Sand was the best day of our lives. The weather was amazing, BREATHTAKING view at the Catalina Terrace, and everyone raved about the food. I've been to my fair share of weddings and at least for me, I really don't remember the food as being to die for. But at this place, it is. And the customer service from every employee at Surf and Sand is off the charts. Everyone was extremely helpful and personable.We want to thank Erin and everyone at Surf and Sand for contributing to our amazing experience. Our wedding went off without a hitch. We will definitely visit often and cherish this place forever.

The Surf & Sand has a great reputation as a wedding venue and now my bride & I know why. Our Ocean Terrace/Sandcastle wedding exceeded our expectations. Erin Hooper's attention to detail and calm disposition make a rare but ideal combination in her role. Kudos to her. for her part in making the day magical for us.We used S&S recommended vendors for strings (during the service) and the DJ. We provided our own florist (who later turned out to be on their list) and our own officiant and baker. I'd recommend using their list where possible--everyone understood \"the drill\" and worked well with the venue & Erin. As a business executive I prefer no surprises in execution and that's exactly what we got. We choose the S&S as we had smaller wedding (60) planned and we wanted the best local venue without getting stratospheric in cost. We did consider the usual high-end suspects (Montage, the Ritz-Carlton) but found they lacked the intimacy of the S&S. In all, we found during the selection process the S&S was at an attractive point between the Laguna Beach \"value\" choices and more extravagant options. We couldn't find anything else quite like it, and judging by the large number of weddings they do, so do a lot of other people. Chatting with my MD last week--yup, he was married there as well. Great positive reinforcement for sure.Also keep in mind for a smaller wedding that the Ocean Terrace/Sandcastle combo can be exactly as you want it to be. We did a little walk-through a few days in advance and did have some fleeting concerns about the terrace and the patio outside the Sandcastle. BUT once everything is in place--floral, strings, chairs, runners, guests, spectacular sunset...and um.. astonishingly beautiful bride, we knew we had made the right choice. A few other notes--the Sand Castle patio is entirely different at night with the lighting and bar in place. Speaking of lighting, you'll definitely want some good uplighting for the Sand Castle room to get it into celebration mode. Also, I'll not repeat what others have said about the staff, but yes everyone was great throughout. Lastly, we elected not to use an outside wedding coordinator and that was the right choice for us. Between my bride's efforts and Erin's, there was no need. In fact, on the crucial day itself, an external wedding coordinator would have just gotten in the way. Best wishes to you for your wedding.

The Surf & Sand is a classy hotel located in stunningly beautiful Laguna Beach. You won't be able to find a better, more breathtaking location for a wedding ceremony than the Catalina Terrace! In addition to the beauty, the food and service at this resort are beyond compare. The planning process was easy because of our sweet catering manager, Erin! Absolutely no regrets about getting married here. My husband and I can't wait to return to this amazing resort for anniversaries.

Chiara is a lovely on-site coordinator and extremely helpful and accommodating. I've gotten so many compliments from my guest on the service they received throughout the reception from the staff. We were married on 8/6/2016. The Surf and Sand resort was the perfect venue! With stunning views of the beach and elegant ceremony and reception areas, it was the best of all worlds. Our photographer was able to use the beach and all of the elegance for amazing photographs. The food and service were 5 star. The filet just melted in your mouth and the salmon was superb! The service provided by the catering sales manager Erin Hooper were above and beyond. SHe accommodated every request without a problem, and made sure that entire event went off perfectly.! She even wiped sand off my brides feet, and helped her bustle up her gown when she was having problems. Erin was like a part of the family! She made our wedding and reception a perfect event, that we will cherish for the rest of our lives! Surf and Sand was pure perfection for our venue.

The BEST Venue for perfect wedding/reception. First of all, Erin Hooper goes above and beyond to make your wedding day PERFECT and AMAZING. She is quick and responsive to all your wedding day needs and questions. You will never feel alone in any of your wedding day preparations from the time you begin planning to the end of your reception. Erin will be there for you. The whole staff is extremely welcoming, and attentive. Secondly, the venue is spectacular. All of your guests will be amazed about how beautiful this venue is. Thirdly, the FOOD. Your guests will be amazed about how delicious the food is. All my guests have said the food was the best food they've ever had at wedding, ever. Not a single bit of me is disappointed in choosing this location. This is The BEST Wedding Venue around.

This venue was absolutely magical, we’ll always remember this place fondly. We got married at Surf & Sand In July – I don’t know if everyone thinks this about their own wedding, but I can’t imagine it going better or having more fun. The view? Gorgeous. The staff? On point. The reception? Beautiful, intimate, a great space for a celebration. We worked with Erin Hooper, who was so good, it surprised us. She had everything taken care of – the things that we thought would be a big deal were all smoothed out by her and her crew. The planning was efficient but detailed, and on the big day, it was completely seamless. She worked with our vendors to coordinate setup & pickup, completely transparent for us – no drama while we were focused on our celebration. It was the small things that they did that on gameday that indicate how outstanding these guys were. They rolled out our white aisle runner last so it wouldn’t get dirty, gave us this amazing bridal suite overlooking the ocean, and they even packed up our leftover cupcakes and saved them for brunch – completely unexpected. Those cupcakes were good, too – it would have been a shame if they went to waste. None of these things make a great venue, but they are tangible examples of one that really is. When my (now) wife saw this place, she made up her mind instantly, the view on the Catalina terrace sold her. We know now that the entire experience was that good. The ceremony, dinner, reception, brunch, and the staff were all what we dreamed of, and we have such great memories!

I want to relive my wedding weekend over and over again. It was complete magic! The surf and sand is the most wonderful venue and I couldn't reccomend it more. Erin Hooper is the catering manager and is so talented and sharp. She doesn't miss a thing and made my day so stress free and relaxing. She took care of every single detail, and really went above and beyond! I can't wait to go back to the surf and sand, it will always be one of my most favorite places in the world :)

We got married on the Catalina Terrace on a day where the chance of rain was 95%! They had us all set up indoors just in case, but last minute, the clouds parted and they moved our ceremony where we originally wanted it. The catalina terrace is the most GORGEOUS backdrop for a wedding ceremony. Erin Hooper was incredible to work with, she is attentive and will go above and beyond to meet your needs. I felt like everything was completely taken care of the day of and I was stress free! The pelican ballroom is where we had the reception, we fit 170 people in there! The room looked gorgeous! Erin hooper was very responsive via email all the time answering my last minute bride questions. The whole service staff at the S&S are incredible at what they do. WE had the bellman run to get us Jack in the Box at 3:30 in the morning (we were starving) and he brought us wine and chocolate on top of that! Everyone is so accommodating and I can't say enough wonderful words about the service from everyone at the resort. The rooms are gorgeous, a little pricey...but hey, it's Laguna Beach and its worth it! The quality of the resort is top notch. I will always look back on my wedding day as absolute perfection, thanks to the staff and the gorgeous Surf and Sand. Thank you for everything!

We had the most spectacular wedding at the Surf and Sand Resort. We got married on the gorgeous terrace overlooking the ocean. Our wedding was in January and the weather was beautiful and warm. Our wedding coordinator Erin Hopper did a fantastic job. Erin is super friendly, very quick at getting back to our questions, and made sure every detail was exactly the way we wanted it. Erin also was very professional throughout the whole process and all smiles on the day of our wedding. She is a get it done chick!! The food was delicious and we were able to customize our menu! Not all wedding venues allow this. The appetizers were amazing and the feedback from our guests were all raving about the food. If you want the WOW factor about your wedding come check out this venue because all around from hotel staff, catering team and amenities I give it 5 stars all around. We will be back on our anniversary and many more special occasions to come. Thank you Surf and Sand Team!

I chose this hotel because of the views- absolutely gorgeous. A couple months before my wedding the girl we had been working with quit and from there everything kind of went downhill. For how much you pay, the service should be exceptional and it was not. My husband didn't even have a room until 30 min before we had to leave for the church! Out of all of my wedding vendors I would say I put the hotel service last on this list =/

We got married on the Ocean Terrace with our reception in the Sand Castle Ballroom. We had a small wedding--about 50 people--and it was the perfect place for us! We started off our wedding planning with one coordinator for the first few months of our planning, but switched to Erin for our last few months when the other coordinator left. The move was seamless and Erin picked up right where Lauren left off. We had more than half of our guests tell us personally that this was the best food they had ever had at a wedding before--some said best food they have ever had at a restaurant period. The location of the ceremony was gorgeous! We had the most perfect weather and the best sunset we could have asked for. The location of the cocktail hour and reception were perfect! The bartender and servers were so helpful and attentive to both our needs and our guests' needs. Surf & Sand provided two separate getting ready rooms for the girls and guys. It was so nice for the girls to have the room for the whole day to get our makeup done and get dressed in it. Erin took care of the day's arrivals (from chair/lantern rentals to flowers) seamlessly. We loved our room for the night of the wedding so much that we decided to stay an extra night! The grounds of the hotel are gorgeous with lots of places to get beautiful pictures. Our whole day went off without any stress and was the best day of our lives! We also had the day-after breakfast on the Ocean Terrace, which was a perfect time to get more time with our families that had traveled so far for our wedding. I wish my husband and I could get married again, and we would choose Surf & Sand every single time!

The Surf and Sand was a PERFECT choice for our wedding! The hotel is absolutely beautiful-- the rooms, lobby, bar, restaurant, spa, it's impeccable. \r\rWe had such a easy wedding planning process! We worked with Lauren Bergmann, who was very responsive and very helpful, on top of being adorable and having a wonderful personality. She was very accommodating of our vision, and helped me walk through my to-do list and necessary order of vendor bookings and any/all misc questions I had. I did not have to worry about ANYTHING on the day of the wedding, which was a relief. Prior to the wedding, Lauren had reached out to all of my vendors and organized the timing of everyone, stepping up as the contact person. We had a slight weather concern the day of the wedding, but I wasn't even phased by it because I knew Lauren would do whatever needed to be done to take care of it. \r\rAt the end of the evening, our gifts were brought to our room, and we were able to celebrate with a bottle of champagne! Grabbing our wedding items in the morning was a breeze as well-- the catering captain had cleaned and packaged everything up for us (the cake topper, guest book, frames, champagne flutes). In the morning we had a great conversation with Trevor, our bellhop. We were heading to Costa Rica for our honeymoon and he took the time to give us some tips and pointers for our trip. It's the above and beyond service of this resort that I appreciate, and a reason I will continue to give them my business in the spa, restaurant, bar, pool... etc :-) \r\rIf you want a beautiful, boutique-y feel with a lot of hands-on attention and gorgeous views, I absolutely recommend the Surf and Sand

It was a great experience from beginning to end. We had a few weather concerns and Lauren was very accommodating with the changes. Our room for the reception was changed the day before and we added a few people (4) the day before too, she was just great with everything. She had all of the vendors in order and made sure that our day was great, it made it so nice to be able to just relax and not worry. The hotel room was perfect to get ready with the amazing ocean view and our ceremony couldn’t have been better, we had the ocean and sunset in the background just as we desired. I would highly recommend this location for an ocean view ceremony and fabulous food and service, couldn’t be happier that we had our wedding here.

Everything went perfect ! Our Wedding Coordinator at the Surf and Sand Was Lauren and I could not have asked for a more professional, excellent coordinator. From the minute we booked my daughters wedding I knew that everything was going to be perfect. The staff in the catering department and hotel personal were so kind and there for our every need ! Our family checked in on Friday and stayed until Sunday, they all went above and beyond for us. When Saturday the day of the wedding came, all I had to do is sit and get pampered and wait for the wedding to begin, Lauren took care of everything for me. As the mother of the bride I didn't want to think of anything by then.\rI would highly recommend the Surf and Sand for Wedding, or any event you need to have.\rI live very close but can not wait to stay again to enjoy how wonderful the Hotel is and remember all the wonderful memories of my daughters beautiful wedding ! \rThank you Lauren Bergmann and the rest of the staff at the Surf and Sand ! We just had our wedding at the Surf & Sand Resort (Nov 8, 2014) and I am still on cloud nine! It really was the wedding of our dreams. The resort is just beautiful and sells itself, but to me the customer service is what really sealed the deal for us. Our amazing coordinator was Lauren Bergmann. She was just perfect! She was warm, yet professional, & walked us through everything from start to finish. She always got back to us with answers in such a timely fashion. It would have been so easy for us to get lost in a sea of questions & details, but she was always there to keep us on track, even going above & beyond in most cases. She never made us feel like she was too busy for us, though I know she had to be. \r\rLauren saw to every detail, including helping to prepare and set up our wedding favors (we'd forgotten to attach the name tags and seating assignments to them), folding our wedding programs (forgot to do that too - lol), and even having my belongings transferred from the spacious dressing room (provided for my bridesmaids and I to get ready in) to our room while we celebrated. It was so nice to not have to worry about things like that. I think you can start to see just how amazing she is! :D \r\rThe hotel is so beautiful so there were so many places for us to take a nice variety of wedding photos (on the beach, in the garden area, on the terrace, etc.). Our ceremony was on the Catalina Terrace (breathtaking!!!), where we said our vows with only the ocean and sky as our background in front of approximately 145 guests. Our reception was held in the Pelican Ballroom (fantastic!!), which was preceded by the cocktail hour in the foyer area. The servers and wait staff were splendid. They were fast, efficient, always smiling & completely accommodating! I was beyond pleased with how we were treated. \r\rThen there was our complimentary wedding suite, which was UBER romantic and beautifully prepared. We had a heart of rose petals waiting on our bed, his & hers wedding cupcakes (delicious!!), water bottles, and premium chocolates at our bedside.\r\rSo many of our guests, family, friends, and people in our bridal party could not stop raving about how beautiful the resort was, how nice the staff was, and that it was the best wedding they had ever been to. I give much of the credit to Lauren for helping the event to run smoothly, for seamlessly coordinating with all of our vendors, and for doing everything in her power to make us feel special on our wedding day. The Surf & Sand Resort has our full recommendation and we'd love to return sometime in the future (maybe for an anniversary?) to enjoy another amazing stay. \r\r

we truly had the best experience with the Surf and Sand. Kat was amazing every step of the way and truly made us feel like the most important event she had. The whole staff at the Surf and Sand was amazing from the bell hop to the service staff to the event coordinators they were all great. The venue is beautiful, I mean you can't get a better view of the ocean. They put us in the most amazing room the night of the wedding and even went above and beyond by decorating our room with rose petals, candles and music with a chilled bottle of champagne waiting for us. I recommend this venue to anyone who wants the perfect beach wedding without the hassle of being in the sand. PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT wedding at the Surf and Sand we are so happy with our choice.

We got married at Surf & Sand Resort on July 19, 2014. From the beginning planning stages to our final wedding day, everything was extremely organized and smooth. We worked with Lauren Bergmann and she was fabulous!!! She knew exactly what we were looking for and helped us envision our dream wedding. We had our ceremony on the Catalina Terrace and then our reception in the Pelican Ballroom. Almost all of our guests were from out of town and everyone raved about how beautiful and romantic this venue and the views were. It blew everyone away, including us! We also had the deluxe pleasure of staying in one of the most beautiful hotel suites with a breathtaking huge terrace/balcony overlooking the ocean. The food at Surf & Sand is impeccable. I really appreciate how hard Lauren worked to make sure every detail was perfect for us and even had little surprises that showed she really listened to us and knew what was important to us. All of the vendors (photographer, DJ, florist, etc) we worked with also said they love this venue and they're always so easy to work with. When we received our pictures from our photographer, we were blown away because the photo backgrounds (the venue & views) are amazing and make the pictures look even better!! We loved everything about Surf & Sand and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a wedding venue in Southern California. By the way, Laguna Beach is one of our favorite towns in the whole world and Surf & Sand is located right in the heart of it all. We got married September 13, 2014 at the Surf & Sand resort. I check out over 12 different venue before we selected this location. I have to say, it was the best choice we could of made. I have been a special events coordinator for 9 different radio stations for many years.\rI can tell in about one or two interview how organized a venue is going to be. I look at things the average person dose not look at. So, when I say, If I had to do it all over again would I do it here at the Surf & Sand, the answer is YES! For the price it cost to rent this location and all the extra help that Lauren and Kat and their team gives you, you would be crazy to go anywhere else. I am very particular, and they meet all may expectation and then some.\rOne thing I would like to add, is our pictures turn out absolutely Beautiful. When planning our big day, my husband and I wanted to find a venue where was could have both our ceremony and reception in one location and would offer the picture perfect beach setting. We visited a lot of venues in Orange County and knew we the Surf&Sand Resort was the one when we visited the amazing ceremony site and ballroom. From planning to the day-of, we were so lucky to have S&S coordinator Kat help make our big day truly special - she was incredibly responsive to emails and helped us map out the event logistics. On the day of our wedding, my husband and I didn't have to worry about a thing. The transition from the ceremony, cocktail hour to the reception was smoothly coordinated by the amazing staff. Even the food was incredible and we added the late night slider bar which was a hit with our guests. For us, our wedding a the Surf&Sand was perfect in every way!

One word to describe the Surf and Sand Resort... breathtaking! I fell in love with this venue the moment I laid eyes on it. The ceremony is on a balcony patio that overlooks the ocean. Many other beach venues have an ocean view but usually there are other landmarks in between.\r\rSurf and Sand provides a day of coordinator so we didn't need to hire anyone to do this. We were so lucky that we had Kat Lawrence... she is the BEST! She's so on top of things that days leading up to the wedding and on the big day I was stress free. It makes a big difference who you work with while planning a wedding, and with Kat by our side it was great. \r\rPictures on the wedding day look amazing at this venue. You have the beach and you have the actual hotel.\r\rOverall, Surf and Sand did not disappoint. My husband and I have very happy memories there because they made our special day amazing. After our wedding we actually went back to the Surf and Sand for a weekend staycation. We were able to actually enjoy the hotel, the pool, beach, spa, restaurant. \r\rWriting this review makes me miss my wedding day, oh what a day! Thank you Surf and Sand!

We just got married at surf and sand on october 12th and it was the most perfect of days starting with getting ready at s&s, a breath taking ceremony over looking the blue ocean, photographs on the beach, drinking amazing signature drinks and the fresh epicurean buffet,and the icing on the cake was the most fun dance party until midnight. Kat lawrence our catering manager made all of our Visions and dreams come true. We and our guests flew from Vancouver Canada and I spent a year coresponding with Kat through emails and phone calls and each communication very positive and she truly seemed eexcited. It's been a few weeks now since the magical day and I am still getting compliments from guests saying it was the most fun and beautiful wedding they have ever attended. I couldn't agree more and I wish it wasn't over. Definately we will be back to visit the surf and sand and forever our memories will be in our hearts. Thanks!

I have had so many people tell me this was the only time they had loved the wedding food. The wedding was beautiful simply because of such an amazing view and venue. Just got married on July 5 at the Surf and Sand Resort and it was truly breathtaking. A dream come true. The view from the Catalina Terrace overlooking the Pacific Ocean cannot be beat. Our photos seriously have 6 ft waves in the background! The food was also excellent--something we'd order off the menu at a fine restaurant. The service exceeded our expectations. Just imagine us walking onto the deck for Sunday brunch the morning after our wedding and seeing that the staff had saved our leftover flowers and arranged them on each of our tables! Overall, was so impressed by how well executed everything was, and much of the credit goes to their amazing catering manager, Kat Lawrence. She is so friendly and supportive--just what a bride needs--but at the same time very professional and on the ball. Kat and her team at the Surf and Sand are as good as it gets. If I could do it all over again, I would probably have booked the Surf and Sand immediately and not spent all those days considering other options!

Taking our vows on the sand was exactly what we dreamed about, and it was just a gorgeous day. Last week my daughter was married on the Catalina Terrace at the Surf and Sand and her reception followed in the Pelican Ballroom. It was the perfect wedding and we would not have changed a thing! The venues were both beautiful, the sevice excellent, and the food delicious (served promptly and warm). The Surf and Sand did everything they could do to make this event special and to make us feel welcome. \r\rKat Lawrence was our hotel event planner. She was very helpful throughout the process, always returning our calls and always calm and helpful, even when we were stressed and frenzied. She never made us feel like we were bothering her. I have only the highest praise for Kat and the S&S!

I just had my wedding on September 22nd at the Surf & Sand Resort. The atomsphere there is absolutely breathtaking!! All of my guests couldn't stop talking about the beautiful view of the ceremony space and the wonderful food at the reception. Kat Lawrence was our wedding coordinator at the hotel and she was absolutely amazing throughout the whole planning process. I could email her with any questions and she would get back to me right away. She was always able to help me relax knowing she had everything handled. On the actual day of my wedding, I really didn't have to worry about a thing! I was able to sit back, relax and enjoy all the fun. I can't thank the staff at the Surf & Sand enough for making my wedding a HUGE success!! My husband and I had an amazing time and we definitely made memories that will last a lifetime!

I am from the Orange County area but have been living on the East Coast for the past few years. When it came to choose a wedding venue I was looking for a beach location. I wanted people who were travelling from the East Coast to have a Southern California experience and what better way to experience it than at the beach!. I worked my way down from the Huntington Beach area looking for potential wedding venues. None of them seemed to fit the bill. Until I came upon the Surf & Sand Resort in Laguna Beach. Once you arrive at the location and you see the beautiful Pacific Ocean in the full sun you can't help but be mesmerized. I knew from the moment I saw that view that I wanted my wedding here.\r\rKat was my contact at Surf & Sand and was helpful in making sure that everything was taken care of on my wedding day. Surf & Sand Resort had everything wanted. The location was amazing which provided for beautiful photographs. The service and food were great. And the overall resort was unbeatable. We were married at Sand and Surf Resort in March 2013. During our first visit to this resort, the ocean view was just toooo amazing & breathtaking. I had decided this was the place where I would like my BIG DAY to be hold. Kat was our catering manager and she always replied our request promptly. She would try her best to meet our needs. I was so nervous on the big day and our wedding cake was delayed for almost 2 hrs. We were so appreciated that Kat actually stayed until the end of our banquet and assist us throughout the wedding. I would like to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, and THANK YOU to Kat for all of your hard work!!!\rOur wedding was about 50 guests, and we used the Ocean Terrance for ceremony and Sand Castle ballroom for the banquet. The food was great and we enjoyed the complimentary overnight arrangement of the hotel. We had a nice breakfast at Splash restaurant in the next morning to conclude our wedding. We had a great time and would definitely go back to Surf and Sand for our anniversary and occasionally visit. It is highly recommended anyone who loves ocean front scene for the wedding. Although the cost is $$$$, the value is well worth for the memory of our life.\r\rThank you Surf and Sand Resort team and KAT!!\r\r

My fiance and I currently live in Hong Kong and visited Laguna Beach in search of our June wedding venue. We had seen several other local options but nothing stirred our fancy... until we got to Surf & Sand. The minute we were shown the Catalina Terrace (it was just before sunset), we both knew that it was exactly where we wanted to get married. The view is absolutely stunning and for our 100 person wedding, it was the ideal size for our outdoor ceremony. I had wanted to get married by the ocean and the infinity view of the sea from the terrace was both dramatic and breathtaking. The hotel itself is in clean and modern, stylish yet simplistic in its decor and room furnishings. Since most of our guests were flying in from overseas, we wanted those staying at the hotel to have a truly comfortable stay, and the ocean view rooms definitely offered that and more. The service of the staff, from our catering manager to the valets, was impeccable. Everyone is so friendly, accommodating, and took extra care to ensure we were looked after. Our reception was in the Pelican Ballroom and when light and done up with flowers and table pieces, looked fantastic.\r\rWedding planning from overseas was not an easy task but our catering managers Juliann and Kat did such a wonderful job. They were very responsive over email and we had many chats on Skype and made the entire process seamless and as stress-free as possible. Although Juliann left S&S two months before our big day and our account was handed over to Kat, we were still in good hands as Kat has a lot of experience at the hotel and our wedding day went smoothly without a hitch. \r\rWe have so many wonderful memories at the Surf & Sand and would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for the perfect combination of beautiful location and superb staff/service for their wedding.

First off I'm going to start by saying that this resort is just amazing, the staff were very friendly and i loved my catering manager Kat! Kat was with my husband and I every step of the way, making our wedding day stress free. our wedding was beautiful with the breath taking views of the ocean in the back ground and as for the reception the food was to die for ! we had the italian buffet and everyone of my guest were asking about the lobster ravioli, I'm even craving some of the ravioli we had that night. Our Honeymoon suite was beautiful over looking the ocean. In conclusion i just have to say hands down that if you want a wedding everyone will talk about for years to come, you can't go wrong with Surf and Sand Resort. I can't wait to go back and celebrate our anniversary there.

Thank you Surf & Sand for creating a beautiful, stress-free wedding! \r\rKat played such a large part in making my wedding come together. I was living in Michigan, meaning it was quite difficult to make a wedding come together in California without some help. Kat consistently responded to my emails and provided valuable insight and advice. On the day of the wedding, Kat made sure everyone and everything was in place. The guests and the wedding party did not have to worry about anything. I cannot stress enough how amazing it felt to be able to enjoy the wedding without worrying about the smaller but important details that are required to make a wedding run smoothly. \r\rI also appreciated how much the Surf & Sand catered to the bride and groom. My husband and I were given a beautiful room facing the ocean for the wedding night. When we sat down for dinner, the staff had provided us with a few plates of the appetizers so we were able to enjoy them as well. The staff also had some of the cake delivered to our room after the wedding. \r\rI would definitely recommend the Surf & Sand to any couple interested in getting married in Laguna Beach. The Surf & Sand is absolutely beautiful - classy, sophisticated, and detailed. I can't think of one complaint.

Our awsome and unforgettable wedding was on September 29, 2012 at the Surf & Sand Resort. We decided to have an intimate wedding which included 50 of our closest friends and family. The Surf & Sand was able to accomodate our small guest list, and suggested we have our ceremony at the Ocean Terrace and the reception at the Sand Castle. The Ocean Terrace was a beautiful area overlooking the ocean and gave our guests a fantastic view of the sunset. The Sand Castle also turned out to be a perfect location for our reception beacuse it consisted of an outdoor patio with a fountain, which was where the bar and photobooth was located, and dining & dancing inside the room. The weather was perfect with a full moon so it was nice to have an outdoor area. Some of our guests also commented that our wedding was the best wedding they've attended and even weeks later thay are still saying how beautiful the venue was!! Kat Lawrence was our coordinator and she was absolutely fantastic. She made the whole experience stress free....And to top it all off, our wedding suite was gorgeous with a breathtaking ocean view. I can't wait to celebrate our anniversaries here. We highly recommend the Surf & Sand Resort.

My wife and I had our ceremony in August 2012, and we were absolutely thrilled at how wonderfully everything turned out.\rThe day started out with photos of our wedding party in front of the charming outdoor fountain and walking path. Then came the ceremony on the Catalina Terrace, framed by an exceptional ocean view. Our newlywed photos were taken immediately afterward, down on the beach at sunset. Our reception was then held in the tastefully decorated Pelican Ballroom, and the food was delicious. We were later told by a great number of our guests that it was one of the best weddings they had attended!\rAll of this was made possible by the marvelous Kat Lawrence, who worked with our wedding planner and vendors to ensure everything came together perfectly. The Surf & Sand is elegant without being pretentious, and we would definitely recommend this lovely venue!

We had the great honor of getting married at the Surf & Sand Resort (S&S) in August 2012. It is a beautiful location & everything we had dreamed of. \r\rLocation: When we began our search for a venue I had the dream of getting married at the beach, and after months of looking for the perfect place we finally checked out S&S. We had been to the resort before for a birthday dinner (Splashes) years before we got engaged. I had thought about this as a venue prior to and after our engagement, but just assumed it would be way out of our price range. Although it is a higher end location there is so much that is included the overall cost did not seem too much more than other places we were looking at. Once we saw it, we were hooked! The Catalina Terrace gives you the illusion that you are floating on the ocean with nothing to look at other than the open water (and the bride and groom of course). It was the perfect aisle to walk down!\r\rCatering Manager: In addition to the beautiful location the staff was amazing. When we initially signed our contract we were working with one catering manager and a few months before the wedding we found out she had left and someone new had taken over. I was nervous at first but Julianne Williams (our catering manager) was absolutely fantastic and made the transition seamless and always went above & beyond! She was a pleasure to work with and made us feel comfortable that everything would be perfect. We had a large wedding party so I was extremely happy to see how calm and accommodating she was to our many requests. Julianne was much more than a catering manager, she really helped to coordinate and execute a perfect wedding!\r\rReception & Staff: The Pelican Room is an elegant & intimate location. It was recently renovated and, if possible, is more beautiful than before. The staff was also amazing! The bartenders were slammed all night and I was honestly amazed at how quickly they worked. The banquet manager was fantastic as well, always asking me and my husband how we were and what he could get for us. I truly thank him for a wonderful evening! The only complaint I have regarding the reception is the price for the bar. I was OK spending a premium on the food and the venue, but the bar tab was very high. At this venue you pay per drink, and the per drink prices are not cheap. So just be sure half full drinks don’t get swept off the table while people are dancing. Overall though, it was amazing.\r\rRooms: One downside to the Catalina Terrace ceremonies is that you are required to rent out the 6 rooms on the terrace and the two suites below. Although the rooms are at an amazing price (for the hotel) it is an additional cost you need to account for. Luckily our large wedding party was able to fill them all. The complimentary room we received for our wedding night was to DIE for! We slept with the door open all night as we could hear the sound of the ocean crashing on the shore, absolutely serene.\r\rThe S&S was the perfect place for our wedding and I can honestly say I have no regrets! People are still raving about it 2 months later. I cannot wait to go back to visit on one of our future anniversaries!\r\rThank you Julianne & everyone at the Surf & Sand for the most perfect day ever!

We got married at the Surf and Sand in early September 2012, and it was truly everything we had hoped for, planned for, and imagined but even better. Our coordinator Kat was wonderful every step of the way--she was sweet, friendly, helpful, professional, and always returned emails and calls immediately ready to answer any questions we had as they came up. I didn't hire an additional wedding coordinator, and it wasn't necessary to do so, because between the planning me and my husband did, and the way Kat handles and managed everything else, we were set. The setting of the Catalina Terrace for the ceremony was spectacular, and we loved our reception in the Pelican Room as well. The food at Surf was absolutely delicious too. We have had nothing but amazing feedback from our guests about the experience they had that night with us. I would highly recommend this venue for your future wedding!

I had my wedding here on 06 October 2012. I grew up on Orange County, California but had never been to the Surf and Sand Resort. I'm currently living in New York City so relied on my bridesmaids to check out venues for me. After they saw the Surf and Sand ceremony site, they didn't want to look at any other venues! The view is just amazing!\r\r We were particular about the menu and how we wanted to food to be presented and the staff at the Surf and Sand were very accommodating. My guests were very happy with the quality of the food. \r\rThe reception hall is newly renovated and very lovely. It was a right size for my guest count of 170 guests.\r\rThe only issue I ran into was on the day of the wedding, I was told that my vendors couldn't use the valet parking. There was some confusion at first but thankfully we worked it out. \r\rOverall, I would definitely recommend this site to other brides.. especially if you are looking for a boutique hotel by the sea! \r\r

I was married at the Surf and Sand in June and was blown away by every aspect of this gorgeous resort. The setting was what initially sold me: saying my vows on a deck overlooking the Pacific Ocean was surreally beautiful. But it wasn't just the location that stood out. The staff was impeccably professional, prompt, and helpful every step of the way. Kat Lawrence made me feel like a VIP and took care of my (complicated) family in the warmest way. The food was five-star. And the huge overnight suite with the private balcony lived up to the specialness of the occasion. Yes, it was expensive, but it is actually more reasonable compared with some of the other Laguna Beach resorts like the Montage and the Ritz. I will always be grateful to everyone at the Surf and Sand who helped make my dream wedding a reality!

We got married on June 30th, 2012 and Michelle Olewinski was our wedding coordinator and she is wonderful. Our wedding was a magical event and the Surf and Sand was the perfect venue for us. I cannot recommend it enough.....the hotel is beautiful and everyone was very helpful and accommodating. Michelle has a way about her that kept me calm when I was fresking out, she is professional and also a big sweetheart who truly cares how your special day turns out. The food is amazing and I cannot say enough good things about their preferred vendors, they were all great!

My wife and I had our wedding and reception at Surf and Sand in October 2012. We were initially drawn there because of the AMAZING Catalina Terrace. We wanted a beach or an ocean view wedding and visited a ton of venues in search of the perfect place. Finally, we found Surf and Sand; the view from the terrace is spectacular. Once we visited with the on-site event planners more, we realized that Surf and Sand was more than simply an aesthetically pleasing venue. The service we received from everyone there, particularly Kat Lawrence, was more than we could ask for. Everybody was amazing and the wedding and ceremony went off without a hitch. It's been about a month since the wedding and we still have people constantly telling/reminding us how awesome our wedding and ceremony was. I cannot recommend Surf and Sand highly enough to anyone looking for a venue!

If you are getting married, the Surf and Sand is a great choice. The location is gorgeous, the resort is awesome and the staff will make sure that you only have to show up and enjoy your special day. Huge thanks to Michelle, our coordinator and now our friend. She really had a ton of things to take care of and still had time to check on us and see if we needed anything. This resort is perfect if you seek to get married on the beach without the hassel of the sand (Granted, we did take beach photos on the sand/water afterward). I had always dreamed of a beautiful wedding on the beach but due to my husband's elderly father the possibilities seemed bleak. Luckily, we had best of both worlds when we found this place. The balcony overlooking the sunset horizon was breathing-- the walls are made of a plexi-glass so there is no obtruction between you and that view. The catering managers here are so competent and while the place does give you a run for your money-- you do get quality service. The food was delicious (I had herb chicken with veggie ravioli served) and the table service absolutely fantastic! I have no regrets.

I was lucky enough to get married at the Surf and Sand in July of this year. It was absolutely incredible! My family has been going to Surf and Sand for years. My Mom acutally had her sweet 16 there. My husband and I grew up in California and knew we wanted to have some of our wedding outside. We knew we didn't want to get married in the sand and as soon as we saw the Catalina Terrace we knew it was it. We had looked at a couple places before we arrived at the Surf and Sand, but as soon as we walked up we knew it was the place for our friends, family and us. \r\rIt was really important to us that our friends and family felt just as special as we did on the big day. We wanted everyone to relax, have fun and really enjoy the wedding week. That is what really got Pete and I's attention when it came to the Surf and Sand. It is absolutely a five star hotel with a laid back friendly vibe. Pete and I are total beach bums and we didn't want to feel like we were at a stuffy hotel. Every single employee at the Surf and Sand greeted us with a smile, wanted to make our week special and added little touches to make everying extra sweet. When my three best friends and I arrived Friday evening to our room, a bottle of wine and a tray of goodies were waiting for us just to say congrats and have fun! My entire family felt just as special through out the week. Anything we needed, the Surf and Sand staff found a way to help us. \r\rMichelle Olewinski was our super lady. We worked with her from the very beginning and she was fabulous! I was so relaxed, happy and stoked for the day and it had a lot to do with the fact that I knew Michelle can handle anything. My Mom and I had a million questions and she answered every one with grace. Michelle REALLY knows her stuff. I felt like I was talking to a friend and to me that was so important. I was 100% comfortable. The ballroom staff were all-stars. Pete and I felt so taken care of but without feeling smothered. They were just amazing from the food, to the service to the bartenders! Those bartenders were slammed the entire night and they just kicked butt. I wish I could talk to everyone working that night and thank them face to face for making our big day such a dream. \r\rI really do mean it when I say the staff there are just the best. From the bell staff, valet, front desk, room service, servers, bartenders, corporate to Michelle everyone was so helpful. The poor valet and bell staff helped us with our luggage, wedding goodies and made sure we always had access to whatever we needed. Michelle went out of her way to make sure my grandmother had a great room because she travelled so far to be there on our big day. The room service crew made every meal such a treat by taking extra time to set everything up like pros. On Friday night, many of my friends and family were partying in the outside lounge area and we wanted a table to play beerpong. A gentleman that worked there was leaving after his shift and overheard us talking. He said he had something for us and ran back into work and grabbed a fold out table so we play! He wasn't even clocked in anymore! Security was so sweet and tolerated our loud group. We couldn't help how fun the Surf and Sand was! \r\rI really can't say enough great things about the Surd and Sand. My family has been staying at this hotel for a long time for a reason. We had a beautiful wedding celebration at the Surf & Sand Resort and we highly recommend this property. The resort view of the ocean was stunning. The food was perfect and the service was beyond comparison. The most incredible person to work with is “Sandy” our wedding coordinator. Sandy is amazingly efficient and made the day perfect. Not a single thing went wrong with the event. Her staff was professional and very helpful.\rOnce again, I can't say enough about having my wedding event at the Surf & Sand Resort. My husband and I were married there the first weekend in October. I don't know what else to say about Surf & Sand, but that everything was perfect. The staff gives impeccable service. Everyone at the hotel knew I was a bride to be from the moment I arrived without me telling them. There were several other weddings going on that weekend and you wouldn't have known it, because of the great service we received. Guests complimented that the food was delicious. \r\rWorking with Sandy made my life so easy. She was anxious to respond and get things done right away. The decor and feel you get at the hotel is top notch luxury beach style. You would almost think that you are at a resort far away. The hotel makes for beautiful photos.\r\rEverything about our day was perfect, thanks to Surf & Sand!

The wedding coordinator, Sandy Shirgaokar, was the most amazing person. She was always\rhelpful, easy to contact and get back to you, and very\rcalm considering I am a nervous Nelly type. Sandy was\rmore helpful then my own wedding planner. In fact, since\rI was in charge of planning this wedding for my son and\rdaughter-in-law, I thought I needed to have a middle person involved and that is why I hired a wedding planner.\rWith Sandy there, I found that it was NOT necessary to have another individual involved in this event. It was beautiful. Our coordinator, Sandy, couldn't have been more helpful. Everything was laid out in advance, all costs were explained and detailed, and she and her team took care of coordinating all of the vendors and providing fantastic recommendations for those we hadn't already decided upon. It ran completely smoothly so the Groom and I were able to celebrate our day stress free and have a great time.\rBonus - it's a beautiful place we'll be able to return to over and over to celebrate our anniversary!!!

I recently got married at the Surf and Sand. When I first visited the venue, I was awe struck with its oceanside view and the elegant hotel accomodations. Physically, it was an ideal location for a dream wedding. As I began to plan my wedding, I had the pleasure of getting to know the staff at the Surf and Sand. They genuninely cared about my wedding and the planning of it. They took extra steps along the way so that when the big day finally arrived, I was peaceful and composed. I couldn't have asked for more...a beautiful setting, lovely accomodations, delicious food, and great customer service. Thank you Surf and Sand!

It had always been my dream to get married on the beach. I was lucky that my future husband also felt the same way. We decided on Surf and Sand right from the beginning as it holds a very sentimental value for his family. I went online and submitted my information and received an email within 24 hours with menus and contact information. Sandy S. was amazing to work with. She answered every single question I had in a timely manner. I was also planning this wedding from a different time zone, but she was so empathetic and responsive. I am also in the business but sometimes I overlook details or forget something important. She was always one step ahead of me and made me feel like I was her only client, even though she answers several (hundred) emails a day. The decor, venue and food were amazing. The whole staff of the property was so nice and accommodating. I already want to start planning a vow renewal soon. If I had to redo any part of my wedding day, I wouldn't change a thing. I am so glad I chose Surf and Sand for my special day.

Sandy, our coordinator was very helpful throughout the process and did an amazing job on our wedding day. \rThe reason why the S&S only gets 4 stars is because they overcharge like crazy. It cost us $15.00 to get 7 champagne glasses to our room... They also overcharged on the rooms for one night and the bar service at the wedding.... and have been unwilling to make it right on the room over-charges... so for that minus one star... but overall a very classy and beautiful place. I will definitely be back and recommend this place to anyone (just watch your bill!)

Our wedding was simply perfect....due to the Surf's Sandy Shirgaokar! She didn't forget a detail. Our wedding was small and intimate... on the beach. Sandy made sure each guest was happy and that the rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony and reception were exactly as planned. She even organized a gorgeous day and sunset! :) We have visited the resort on many occasions and picked this hotel because it is a hidden jewel. The view from each room is breathtaking and the service is amazing. We will continue to return every year to enjoy this fabulous place! I highly recommend planning any event or wedding at the SURF AND SAND!

If you are looking for a beautiful and classy beach location for your wedding, you can't go wrong with the Surf and Sand! I was married there a month ago and I could not be more pleased with everything about my wedding. \r\rThe #1 best thing about the Surf & Sand - the Catalina Terrace! When I recently saw the proofs of my wedding pictures I just sighed and was amazaed again at how breathtaking our ceremony was with the view overlooking the ocean. I couldn't have dreamed up a more gorgeous setting to marry the man I love! \r\rThe #2 best thing about the Surf & Sand - Sandy Shirgaokar, the events coordinator, and exactly the person you want helping you plan your event. She is helpful, responsive, knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and (most importantly) calm and kind! : ) She was so helpful throughout the entire process and I'm so impressed with how smoothly everything went on our wedding day thanks to her coordination. On that day, I had no idea the flowers, cake, videographers and all the other vendors were there. She took care of everything so I could enjoy getting ready with my family. I loved not having to worry about any of those details! \r\rI could go on and on, but will just say that I'm 100% pleased with everything about the Surf & Sand - from the staff, to the food, to the accomodations, to the thoughtful little touches included in our experience. It was wonderful. My husband and I plan to go back each year for our anniversary!\r\rIt's a fairly pricey venue - but if it is within your budget, this is the place to spend your money. The experience is worth it!

My husband and I were married at the Surf and Sand and had the most wonderful experience. We were very happy with the quality service that the Surf offers. Our day was perfect because we were in such good hands. The grounds are beautiful and every room is ocean front. Our guests were also very pleased with their experience. My husband and I visit the Surf every month to enjoy their awesome restaurant, Splashes!

First of all, Sandy the Catering Manager at Surf & Sand who handles weddings was one of the single biggest reasons my wedding was so perfect. She was the most helpful person, and the friendliest, nicest vendor I had by far. She really made everything so easy and fun. \r\rThe location is perfect, the price was perfect, and the food was perfect. We didn't have a single problem the whole day, nor did we have one during the entire planning process. \r\rI would HIGHLY recommend the Surf & Sand to anyone looking to get married at the beach in an exquisite setting.

This place was wonderful. Everything was perfect and the people were wonderful to us. The Wedding Coordinator, Sandy Shirgaokar, was very nice and very efficient. We did not have to worry about the overall coordination at the hotel. Our wedding was flawless.

I recently got married at the Surf & Sand (August 21, 2010) and I couldn't have asked for a better night!!!! I spent a year planning my wedding, and during that time, I was finishing up my last year of law school, moving, and taking the Bar Exam (1 month before the wedding). In addition, I was paying for a large part of the wedding, so money was tight. I didn't get a wedding cordinator, but it didn't matter! Sandy was AWESOME! My wedding was ran that entire day and to perfection! I didn't have to worry about a thing! And our room was GOREGOUS! We have already decided that we are going to go back and get the same room every year for our anniversary! Sandy friended me on facebook and so, everytime I had a question about something small I could instant message her and she would give me the answer right away! She was by far the MOST AWESOME part of the wedding! Also, most of my vendors I found through the Surf and Sand. They provided me with a list of preferred vendors and they were ALL AMAZING and while some were a bit pricy, there were others that ROCKED (i.e. the Sound Investment, Clark Keppel - who did our photobooth, lighting, and DJ). I can't even begin to explain how perfect our night was, but . . . my advice is if you are thinking about this location. . . DO IT! The food and everything was just AMAZING!!!! Would do it again all over!

The Surf & Sand Resort is a GREAT location for your wedding!!! We just got married there in May! All of our guest (130) couldn't stop talking about how gorgeous our wedding was! The staff was AMAZING and truly made my special day perfect! Everything went smoothly, with no mishaps. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding!!! I would definitely recommend this location to anyone who is getting married!!! \r\rAsk for Sandy Shirgaokar.... She was AMAZING to work with! Very kind, excellent coordinator, and knows what she's doing, which helped relieve a lot of the wedding stress. (Coordinator is including in wedding package!) \r\rWe LOVE the Surf & Sand Resort!!!

When I was planning my wedding, I searched high and low, up and down the coast of Southern California, looking for the place that was going to be the backdrop of my special day. \r\rSave yourself the trouble of going down the lists of traditional places and check out the Surf and Sand first. This charming hotel is tucked away on PCH in Laguna Beach, and if you drive down the road too fast, you'll miss it. It's a tan building and very discreet. Then, save yourself the heartache of dealing with snobby wedding people and beeline it to Sandy Shirgaokar's office to the right. Make an appointment, because this is one busy lady. \r\rSandy helped us create and carry out our mission of having a surprise wedding. She made suggestions and walked us through all of our options without making us feel rushed. Emails, phone calls, questions were always answered quickly and she's really organized. When it comes to the weddings, I wouldn't refer anyone else. Not only did we have the best wedding that people still talk about, we've made a friend for life. \r\rThe food, excellent. That's one great catering staff we had, and everyone loved the idea of Thanksgiving Dinner...in May. Sandy suggested an extra 2-3 rounds of appetizers, and boy am I glad we did that. People were adequately fed, the open bar with a limit cap was a really good idea. People raved about the appetizers. Sandy was there for our tasting, was there to direct all of the vendors in the right direction (cake guy, furniture rentals, flowers, etc), without me having to lift a finger. Everything was turn key and not once did I stress out.\r\rSandy was there for our big day. With her walkie talkie, blackberry, clipboard, headset in tow, she kept our schedule, and people said they had never been to a wedding where it flowed so effortlessly. \r\rPerhaps on of the most memorable things that happened was the manager on duty who had come to me after hours and had let me know that Sandy had the foresight to gather up all my gifts, lock the envelopes in the safe, gifts to the room, and discreetly handed me the code. When we got to our room, Sandy had sent us champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries. Sandy totally looked out for us and had she not worked that night, I would have loved for her to be a guest at our party!\r\rThe room we stayed in was gorgeous. It overlooked the ocean and it was the perfect place to change, take pictures and spend the night in.\r\rThe next morning, we brunched at Splashes, overlooking the beach. It was absolutely lovely! :)\r\rSandy, you're the best. We had so much fun planning with you and the location was perfect. Thank you so much for all the hard work you put in for us- we'll never forget it! :)

We could not have chosen a more perfect spot for our wedding of 60 guests. The Ocean Terrace was the perfect size and setting -- we were married in an intimate space to the sound of waves crashing against the beach below and the sights of a magnificent sunset.\rThe staff at Surf & Sand was phenomenal from our first contact with them when choosing our venue right up until the last song was played at our reception. \rThe food was amazing -- everything we expected. If you are looking for a beautiful, elegant spot to hold your wedding, you can't go wrong with Surf & Sand. I can't describe how incredible the wedding was. You know how they say \"something always goes wrong at your wedding\"? Thanks to Surf & Sand, ours went off without a hitch.
