Sweeney Barn is a historic wedding venue located in Manassas, VA. This venue offers a luxury experience for every couple with their team of professional staff and their passion for elegance. With the location’s central location, modern amenities and breathtaking architecture, you and your guests can celebrate a night to remember. Established in 1939, the Sweeney Barn was home to the Birkett dairy farm. Thanks to owners Alannah and Noel Sweeney, the entire barn has been restored with as much old material as possible to maintain its authenticity. Today, this barn continues to be a wedding and events venue for all with its rich history and rustic indoor and outdoor spaces. Their spacious has two levels of indoor and outdoor space that can accommodate 200 of your beloved friends and family with wheelchair-accessible restrooms, assorted lanterns, and vintage decor. Sweeney Barn is happy to host all wedding activities, including the ceremony, reception, and elopement. Whether you’re having a small or large celebration, this establishment offers extra items, such as arches, drapery, fire pits and decor. Sweeney Barn was a dream venue for our wedding! It was the first venue we looked at, and nothing else compared. From the location, to the team of staff lead by Andrea, it was perfect.We loved that we could have our ceremony in the light and airy bottom level, host an indoor/outdoor cocktail hour, and then the reception upstairs in the spacious upper-level barn loft. The venue offers lots of equipment and decor, helping us save $ on decor and rentals. The entire space is gorgeous - guests gave us so many compliments about the venue. The silo staircase was also one of the big selling points for us. Loved the beautiful bridal suite as well!It was just a short drive from several hotels and shopping areas, and right down the road from 2 Silos brewing, where we went for our after party. Andrea and her team were so patient with all of our questions, and coordinated seamlessly with our other vendors. Highly recommend this space for your wedding or other event!

My wife and I had our wedding at Sweeney Barn this month and we couldn't have asked for a more incredible experience! Sweeney Barn was the first venue we toured over a year ago and knew immediately that they were the venue of our dreams. Working with Andrea and her staff over the past year has been a true pleasure. Our wedding was truly a magical day and that is thanks to the team at Sweeney Barn! We greatly appreciated their attention to detail and responsiveness and care for our wedding. Our family and friends were blown away at how beautiful the venue was and how courteous the staff was on site. We definitely recommend Sweeney Barn!

My husband and I knew we wanted Sweeney Barn the second we stepped into the space. It is a breathtaking venue, all of our guests could not stop talking about how beautiful it is. The venue comes with some of its own decor which was super helpful for someone like myself who is not good at decorating :) Not only is the venue beautiful but the staff member we worked with (Andrea) is amazing. Super friendly to work with and makes the experience truly seamless. We primarily worked off their suggested vendor list too which were all great. We had the best day at Sweeney Barn and wish we could live it over and over again!

We knew Sweeney Barn was the perfect fit for us from the second we first toured it. The venue is beautiful by itself, but the staff we spoke with (Andrea and Meghan) made it feel like this was our “home”. Many venues can be pretty, but finding a team of vendors that make it feel like the most special day ever makes all the difference - that’s Sweeney Barn. Sweeney Barn presents a unique personality of its own, with plenty of room to incorporate your own style. It had all of the space we needed, and our friends and family loved it!

My husband and I could not have imagined having our wedding at any other venue. The different spaces in the venue are gorgeous and you can tell they payed a lot of attention to detail. Given the multiple spaces available, we had our ceremony downstairs and our reception upstairs so it was incredibly convenient for us. The reception space has the most beautiful high ceilings with dreamy chandeliers which made the ambience feel intimate and elegant. The barn style fit our rustic/romantic theme. Working with the staff was incredibly easy and they were super helpful along the way. Andrea made sure that all our vendors were on the same page and she answered all our questions throughout the process. She ensured that the vendors had a detailed floor plan and was accommodating and updating it when changes were made. She honestly reduced a lot of the stress associated with bringing several vendors together while going over the plan for the wedding day. The venue also offers several other perks such as decor items that they provide which add a nice romantic touch to the space. There is also overnight parking for guests available which is great for guests. We were so happy to have our wedding at Sweeney Barn and will cherish all the beautiful memories we created there forever.

My wedding at Sweeney barn was absolutely breathtaking. Special thank you to Andrea and her staff for all of all their help throughout the process of planning my wedding. Andrea was absolutely amazing. I would recommend Sweeney Barn without hesitation to anyone. The ambience is amazing. The outside landscaping was great for photographing. And when I tell you, the stairwell the ceremony space was beautiful. Sweeney Barn is an absolutely breathtaking venue.

We had our wedding at Sweeney Barn in April and it was more than i ever could’ve dreamed of! From first encounter, to even after the wedding, the communication between vendors, the couple & Sweeney Barn is impeccable. Andrea really says “I’ve got this” and she does. Working with Sweeney Barn was a dream and the venue itself is so unique and beautiful. It’s been a month since the wedding and it’s still all our family can talk about! I’m looking for any excuse to plan an event here again- definitely recommend!

Sweeney Barn is the only venue we toured. Just walking up to it, you will know why. It is absolutely gorgeous! I remember during our tour, I was just in awe about how beautiful it was and on the day of our wedding, I was in even more awe seeing it all decorated for our wedding, it brought tears to my eyes. Sweeney Barn is perfect if you are looking for that barn wedding! It is GORGEOUS, has heating and air conditioning, a nice bathroom, an elevator, and not to mention, so much decor that you are welcome to use for free! Not only is the venue itself amazing, all of the staff is amazing too! Everyone is super friendly and will answer any question you have. We got so many compliments on how beautiful our venue was from our wedding guests!

I could truly write a novel about how much we loved hacing our wedding at Sweeney Barn. This was the very first venue we toured, and from the moment we stepped inside it just felt special. Every single detail is so well thought out and the team at the venue could not be more amazing. Their communication and planning approaches are impeccable and they made us feel like the most important couple in the world! They answered every single question we had and assured us at every step of the way. Our wedding day could not have gone more smoothly largely thanks to the amazing planning and preparation that Andrea and Lisa put in to our event. They worked closely with our coordinator and vendors to make sure everything went to plan. If you are looking for an absolutely breathtaking venue with an amazing team, Sweeney Barn is everything you need.

I cannot stress how wonderful Andrea and the Sweeney Barn team are. This gorgeous venue is Prince William County's hidden gem. The venue is stunning and well within budget. Andrea was professional, prompt, and kind. She answered every single question, email, and inquiry that I had. She was also very helpful when it came time to communicate with the other vendors we selected for our wedding. She was always there for my husband and I, as well as our families. She made the process easy & smooth. The venue itself is very charming and rustic while being elegant but not too over the top. Our friends and family fell in love with the venue just as much as we did. We are so glad that Sweeney Barn helped us with our special day. We even met one of the owners of Sweeney Barn on the day of our rehearsal. He was very down-to-earth and humble. With Andrea's help, everything fell into place. We couldn't have asked for a better place to get married.

My husband and I cannot say enough amazing things about Sweeney Barn. When we started touring venues in 2021, we both knew the moment we stepped inside Sweeney Barn that it was the venue for us. From the get go, the level of professionalism is next level and perfect for any couples out there eager to have transparency and easy communication. Although she was not the lead on our wedding day, Andrea, the General Manager, went above and beyond every step of the way. Not only did she help with our own questions or concerns, she would email and communicate with all other vendors and our coordinator to make things as easy and seamless as possible. Fast forward to our wedding day. Although we only got married a week ago, 10/29/22, our guests and family members have not stopped RAVING about our wedding venue and how spectacular everything looked. Several have even told us it was \"the most fun wedding they've ever been to\" - which was the exact vibe we wanted and SB nailed it perfectly! Another appeal and factor in our decision was the location! Sweeney Barn is a perfect location if, like us, you have lots of out of town guests and relatives. We were able to book multiple nearby hotel blocks and utilize a transportation service for a 10-15 min shuttle to and from the venue. There's a huge parking lot that guests are able to park and leave cars overnight as well. It made us happy knowing everyone could feel centralized and be able to spend time together, even outside of our wedding venue. We also were then able to use 2 Silos on the same road for our rehearsal dinner (cannot rave enough about the Black Sheep Restaurant as well) and to hang out with family & friends the day before. Regardless of the weather or season, SB is a perfect venue that checks all the boxes. I was so thrilled that we had the most gorgeous fall day, and we took advantage of the weather with an outdoor ceremony and an incredible outside photo shoot with the fall foliage. Then our guests were able to easily transition into the downstairs hall room for cocktail hour, before proceeding upstairs for the reception. Everything was clean, professional, and above and beyond our expectations. As the bride, I had a little \"behind the scenes\" sneak peak watching everything get set up by the staff and catering team, yet was still blown away by the vision they pulled together by the time of the reception. In the words of The Talking Heads: \"This Must Be The Place.\" I'd give 10 stars if I could!

Andrea and the Sweeney Barn Team were absolutely delightful to work with as we prepared for our fall wedding. Wedding planning may be stressful, but the punctual, responsive, and thoughtful folks at Sweeney made our lives easy.We booked the venue sight un-seen during the height of the Covid pandemic. Andrea offered us an amazing virtual tour and patiently answered all of our questions. Even though we booked our venue almost two years ahead of time, we never felt like an after-thought or a couple that could be answered later. We always felt like a priority. Sweeney is staffed by true professionals. At every turn, Andrea was there to listen to our vision, help us understand how we could achieve it (offering enthusiasm when we could do something, and constructive guidance where we could not).Their approved vendor list is pretty non-restrictive, and they make allowances for unapproved vendors if they meet criteria that is pretty reasonable. You may even get lucky like we did - our catering company worked with the venue several times between us selecting them and the date of our wedding, so they were added to the approved vendor list ahead of our date and we got the benefit of not having to pay the (nominal and fair) extra fee.The venue is absolutely gorgeous in person. It offers a modern, yet rustic, look that can frame any event on its own, but is also the perfect canvas to add splashes of your own color and style.Sweeney Barn also offered several amenities that MANY of the barn/farm venues in VA do not offer: paved roads, functional/nice bathrooms, and access to medical facilities near by in case of an emergency.Overall, the reason to choose Sweeney Barn is obvious. Come for the looks, but stay for the world-class professional staff.

Andrea and the entire team at Sweeney Barn were absolutely amazing to work with!! They were responsive in answering my many, many questions throughout the planning process and really went out of their way to make sure everything was as easy as possible for us. The venue itself is so versatile offering 3 different spaces for you to hold the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, each one unique and beautiful. Plus, the venue includes many décor items for use, which was super helpful. It ended up raining on our wedding day, but the professionalism and experience of the Sweeney Barn team ensured we were prepared with a back-up plan that we loved just as much, which really helped reduce the stress levels. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue for our dream wedding!

I got married here last week and it was such a beautiful venue! I originally toured in 2020 when having a big wedding seemed out of the picture. Andrea gave us our tour and was very welcoming and informative. She was honest, kind and very professional. We ultimately chose this venue because it was so beautiful and had so many amenities that came with it. There were hotels close by, restaurants, etc, and it also had a GREAT rain plan \"B\". So many venues we toured were just telling us we would get married in the reception space if it rained.... uh no thanks! Sweeney had just what we needed. They were very clean, and lived up to all of our expectations. We loved our wedding here!

Sweeney Barn offered an incredible continuity of service throughout our experience originally booking in 2018 for our initial 2020 reception. They were so helpful and flexible rescheduling us two years in the future (when they were originally offering new 2021 dates). Andrea and her team were so responsive to our millions of questions, and it really was a beautiful day- Sweeney Barn offers so many design details that we needed very little else to style the space. We couldn't recommend them more!

Sweeney is an absolutely beautiful venue and we are so thrilled to have had our wedding there. Andrea and her staff were there for us with any questions that we had throughout the process and extremely patient with a lot of (and sometimes inadvertently repeated by us) questions. They were also very flexible with some minor layout and timing changes made a little later in the process. Due to rain, we had to make some day-of layout changes and Glynis, the venue's event representative, was extremely helpful getting everything sorted out and was extremely kind and helpful for us. The venue it's is absolutely gorgeous (our guests were obsessed with the silo staircase, which was also awesome for pictures) and we could not be any happier with our choice of venue and would highly recommend Sweeney to anyone.

I cannot say enough great things about Sweeney Barn. From the minute we walked into the venue for our tour, it felt like a dream come true. Everyone along the way was so helpful with providing information, answering questions, and just being available when needed. When it came down to our wedding, it was so smooth and easy. I had no stress, no concerns, and no worries. I would highly highly recommend Sweeney Barn to every couple out there still looking for a venue. The view is like none other and it truly was a dream come true to get married there. Thank you so much to Andrea, she was tremendous!!

Sweeney Barn is a breathtaking venue. My (now) wife and I were looking for a venue that holds up on its own because we lack decorative skills. We kept our wedding very simple and it turned out to be stunning. We absolutely loved the contrast of the crisp and bright downstairs area for our ceremony with the majestic wood barn structure upstairs for our reception. Our friends and family told us all night how impressed they were when they stepped through the front barn doors. In addition to the stunning structures, Andrea and Meghan are two absolute rockstars. They were communicative, steady, and prepared for everything we asked for. Can't go wrong with Sweeney Barn!

We had our wedding ceremony in Falls Church and Reception at Sweeney Barn in Manassas. The venue was absolutely beautiful and requires little decoration because it is already so stunning. I was hesitant at first but after going in person I was blown away with how beautiful it is. It is not a venue where you can do things yourself though. You are required to have a day of coordinator and florist to set up all decorations. This turned out to be so helpful and such a stress reliever. They also have a prefered vendor list where you have to choose someone on their catering list or you have to pay hefty amount of $750 if they are not on the list. The owner may be a little flexible about this though if it is someone they have already worked with. This was not a problem for us though it seems like they provide great options for every person's budget. They also have lots of decorations theres which saves on costs.A lot of vendors we had took me forever to decide on. After we went in person I knew right after this was the venue. My husband and I both like the barn aesthetic for wedding reception. This is a very fancy barn reception venue. We also had our tour with Kathy and almost went with her for our tour and she is incredible and so knowledgable. She has such a great personality and was so helpful!Everything went flawlessly on our wedding day and I felt no stress when it came time for the reception time!

Sweeney Barn was the easiest decision we made during wedding planning! We, like many other couples who got married in 2021, began wedding planning with so much uncertainty due to the pandemic. But Andrea and Katie at Sweeney Barn quickly put us at ease. They were so amazing and professional. I have never had a vendor respond so quickly and with the level of knowledge and thoughtfulness as Andrea. If you want to know the best photo locations, measurements of every nook in the barn, suggestions of event layout and decor based on the outdoor temperature 6 months and 8 days away, she will know it all.As for the venue itself, Sweeney Barn is beautiful inside and out! We loved the rustic, romantic feel of venue but still decked out with all the modern comforts (including an elevator and its own paved parking lot) that you'd want for your guests. Sweeney Barn also has an amazing inventory of on-theme decor (think lanterns, fairy lights, chairs, two types of ceremony arches) that you can use. The high ceilings and many chandeliers are always a wow-factor for guests. We loved our wedding venue and will always remember it fondly!

The moment my wife and I walked through Sweeney Barn's doors, we knew that it would be the perfect venue for our reception. We had our ceremony at a church, so we set the downstairs hall up for a cocktail hour, and the upstairs hall was set up for the reception. The venue was a wonderful backdrop for photos as was the stairwell in the silo. Andrea was amazing and always available for questions. She was so easy to work with and always had an answer for us, whatever arose. Their helpful list of preferred vendors made selecting our team so easy and Andrea made coordinating all the details worry-free.

The barn itself is incredibly unique and accessible for guests, not only in location but also having an elevator so getting to the upper level is a breeze (though the staircase is my favorite, so stunning!) Sweeney Barn and Andrea (General Manager) were the ABSOLUTE BEST! My husband and I were married at Sweeney Barn on October 16th, 2021, and it was the most perfect place for our wedding. Sweeney Barn is beyond stunning, and Andrea is the most kind, flexible, fantastic person to work with. She is knowledgeable, thorough, caring, and extremely responsive. We went from planning a 200+ wedding to an intimate ceremony, and Andrea was God sent. The preferred vendor list is very comprehensive, and the event spaces that they have (outside, lower level, and upper level) are the perfect canvases to make your visions and dreams come to life. I could not recommend Andrea or Sweeney Barn more!!!

We absolutely loved working with Andrea and Sweeney Barn. First, the barn itself is STUNNING! You don’t have to add much to it, it just stands out on its own. From the white room downstairs that we used for our ceremony to the grand feel of the upstairs space we used for our reception – I mean WOW. If you are looking for an amazing wedding venue definitely take time to visit the Sweeney Barn! They have the perfect combination of rustic barn feel combined with modern elegance. They have a perfect setting if you are having an indoor or outdoor ceremony and the space for the reception is breathtaking. There is a beautiful outdoor space for cocktail hour complete with a gazebo and benches surrounded by trees. The location is perfectly situated next to many restaurants that provide a great setting for rehearsal dinners and after parties. The space is so versatile that we have pictures from different parts of our wedding day and they are all so unique. We could not be happier with having our wedding at Sweeney Barn. From their helpful staff to the breathtaking indoor and outdoor spaces, we are so lucky to have had our event there. You and your guests will be so happy if this is where you have your wedding!!

I have so many good things to say about our experience with Sweeney Barn. We are so thankful we decided to get married at Sweeney Barn! The team is super responsive, and we were blown away at how organized and detailed the entire team was throughout the entire planning process. Not only is the venue beautiful, elegant and full of so much detail, it is so versatile. We were able to have our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception all in one location BUT each part of the day was in a different area of the venue. We were able to have the ceremony downstairs, the cocktail hour outside, and then blow all our guests away with the STUNNING reception room. We have nothing but good things to say about this venue. This made it so easy for our out of town guests. There are so many other vendors located in Manassas, and Sweeney Barn has so many wonderful relationships with various vendors in the area. Their connections and willingness to work with other vendors made our day so easy. If you are thinking of booking Sweeney Barn, DO IT! It was the best decision we made regarding our wedding day.

If you are looking for a barn style venue in northern Virginia, this is the one. If you're not looking for a barn style venue, you should still go see Sweeney Barn. Sweeney Barn is a gorgeous venue with an amazing staff! The space is just absolutely stunning, and it just gets more beautiful as you walk in. There are plenty of areas to choose from when figuring out where to do your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, and every single one of them is absolutely beautiful (seriously, go look at pictures!). Their staff is also amazing. Andrea was incredibly helpful from the very first meeting we set up with her. She took time to give us a tour, answer all my questions, explain all the details, and give us some ideas of what our day could look like. Before we even booked, she was super attentive and answered all my questions. Definitely top notch service throughout the whole process. The space is also super vendor friendly; all our vendors had great things to say about the venue and their staff. Overall Sweeney Barn was just perfect. We loved it, our guests loved it, and all our vendors loved it!

Sweeney Barn speaks for itself. My husband and I booked Sweeney Barn by images alone online. It was in a great location, close to airports, hotels, 2 silos, and most importantly Black Sheep (we LOVE Black Sheep). The pictures of the barn don't even compare to what it is like in person, it is by far the most beautiful venue we had personally ever seen. Andrea was the quickest responder of any venue coordinator that we reached out to, scheduled a zoom tour, and was willing to work with us to see the venue amongst Covid. She communicated effectively, answered all of my questions (and I asked A LOT). She was a part of the planning, the execution, and ultimacy played a huge part of our wedding day. Katie was also great on the day of, was easily found when needing something, and had worked effectively with all our vendors! We can not thank Sweeney Barn enough for being such a huge part of our wedding day! (Also, I cannot count how many times someone told me how amazing the venue was during the wedding...)

As soon as you see pictures or visit the venue, you are immediately floored by the beauty of Sweeney Barn! It is the perfect modernized barn that has a lovely history to it. And the rockstar behind it all, Andrea, is such a sweet and hard-working person. She will do anything to make sure you have the perfect wedding day! When we met her for the first time, we felt so comfortable and welcomed by her. She responded promptly to all our emails and was so flexible, especially when we had to postpone TWICE due to COVID. We love Andrea and Sweeney Barn so much! Oh, and there are two floors and a beautiful winding staircase if you aren't convinced yet how great it is. We had the ceremony downstairs and the reception upstairs, which worked out so nicely! We can't wait to go back as guests one day!

We couldn't be happier with our wedding at Sweeney Barn! The venue was absolutely breathtaking. Our ceremony took place on the 1st floor where the room gets a ton of natural light and has a whimsical, fairytale vibe to it. Our reception took place on the 2nd floor. Guests were ushered upstairs through the beautiful spiral staircase which is the original silo from the barn. The upstairs has more of a barn look, but with a glam/modernized vibe.The venue has some decor on site which we loved and didn't need to provide any ourselves! Guests loved the wine barrels during cocktail hour. We actually had a guest go to a local winery the next day and purchase 2 barrels to turn into tables for their home.The location was not only helpful for guests who lived in the Gainesville/Manassas/Bristow area, but also those staying in one of the many hotels nearby. Having our wedding at Sweeney Barn was a dream!!!

BOOK YOUR WEDDING VENUE AT SWEENEY BARN!! My husband and I loved our tour with Andrea and just fell in love with Sweeney Barn. Our whole experience from the initial tour all the way to the end was absolutely fantastic! Andrea answered all my questions and worry with COVID from start to finish and just knew what I wanted during our walk through as well. They were always communicating with us on COVID guidelines, payments, and the walk through. They always and truly had our best interest in mind all the way through. Aside from the staff, the barn itself is gorgeous. I personally wanted a barn wedding but to have it all indoors. Sweeney Barn fits all my check boxes to have all the ceremony and reception indoors, good A/C, huge variety of rentals for decorations, and a gorgeous bridal suite and bathroom! I heard nothing but constant awe from my guests about Sweeney Barn. Sweeney Barn truly worked super well with our vendors. I highly recommend Sweeney Barn for any wedding! They truly made my wedding come true!

After seeing pictures of Sweeney Barn online, we knew we had to visit the venue as soon as we could! As soon as walked through the doors, we were absolutely sold and booked Sweeney Barn for our wedding immediately, without seeing any other venue. We certainly don't regret that decision. Sweeney Barn and it's amazing staff were perfect. It's been so awesome to continue to hear all the positive comments from guests about how stunning our venue was. I can't say enough wonderful things about the Sweeney Barn staff! Ashley gave us our tour and she was excellent, polite, friendly and answered all of our questions. Andrea, the General Manager, was superb! She had great communication throughout the entire planning process ... even when I asked questions a year in advance of our date, she replied within 24 hours, most times she replied literally immediately. Planning a wedding during the pandemic might have been stressful for some, but Andrea made it an absolute a pleasure!!! I could write a book about how great the venue was and how awesome the staff was, but I think you all get the idea! We would recommend Sweeney to all of our friends and family and are so happy that we got to have the BEST wedding at the BEST venue! Thank you all so much!

Sweeney Barn was such an amazing place to get married at! We had a traditional ceremony at church, but you can definitely have your ceremony there as well. The minute we did the tour at Sweeney, we knew we wanted to have our reception here. Andrea was so great to work with and kept us up to date on COVID restrictions, even though thankfully we got to have a normal wedding! Andrea stayed on top of our vendors and made sure we were good to go. Zula was our coordinator for the day and her team and our catering team set up everything exactly how we wanted it to look like! Everything went smoothly, at least from what we know. Everyone loved Sweeney Barn and even before the wedding, everyone was saying how excited they were that it was here since no one we know has gotten married here before. Hopefully that changes because again, everything was AMAZING!! If you do choose Sweeney Barn, I HIGHLY recommend using Pampa’s Catering. People are still telling us how good the food was. Good luck planning your wedding and I hope you choose Sweeney!

There aren't enough positive things I could say about this venue!When my fiancé and I began planning our wedding, we were knew to the DC/Metro area. Sweeney Barn was one of the first venues we came across on our online search and it was the first venue we saw in person. From the first site, I would have been happy to sign a contract. My fiancé and I looked at 3 more venues but our hearts were at Sweeney Barn. This barn is BEAUTIFUL and they have so much in-house decor that fit our rustic, Christmas theme. Andrea is responsive and accommodating and was such a peach to work with! Three weeks from our wedding day, Virginia changed their Covid restrictions. My fiancé and I decided to move forward with a small and intimate wedding. Andrea did everything she could to make sure this day was still special. Andrea was quick to organize a Zoom call with us and our coordinator and shortly after we had new diagrams and a new plan.Sweeney Barn's extensive list of preferred suppliers is phenomenal. We booked our caterer and our florist from their list and the definitely only work with the best.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Sweeney Barn and Andrea. The 3d tour of the barn made us feel comfortable about knowing what to expect when we toured it in person. We felt that after viewing the 3d tour that we had already been to the Barn! The Barn is so beautiful, that we didn’t feel the need to decorate it with almost anything, as we wanted the Barn to speak for itself. We did use a few of the items (barrels) that the venue includes for you free of cost! Also, they have chairs that can be used for the ceremony and the reception free of cost. Andrea was great to work with, very communicative, and worked with us so we could bring items prior to the wedding as well. We appreciated her relationship with our planner Lisa Havard, as they worked together to take the pressure off of us. Our wedding went off on time and without a hitch due to their collaborative work together, they both made our day truly special.

As many of you know, 2020 weddings have been a challenge to say the least. We booked Sweeney Barn for our wedding in May 2020 and when the governor shut down large gatherings during that time period, we were devastated. However, Sweeney Barn, with no hesitation, helped us to book a back-up date right away. Our wedding ended up taking place on August 16, 2020 and it was absolutely perfect. Not only is the venue absolutely beautiful, but the service is truly unmatched. Staff was friendly, helpful, and flexible. Our guests were blown away as well! In a time of such chaos, Sweeney Barn helped us to stay cool, calm, collected, and EXCITED about our big day. I couldn’t recommend them more.

You will not go wrong picking the Sweeney Barn. We were in the best of hand with Andrea from the first minutes of walking into the barn. Before walking us around, she took the time to get to know us as a couple and what we were looking for in a venue. The first floor was great for our cocktail hour and the upstairs hall was absolutely breath taking. The continuous additions the Barn keeps making was incredible and we are forever grateful. We instantly fell in love with Sweeney Barn the moment we set foot inside. After scouting out several venues in the Northern VA area, there were none that made our hearts stop like Sweeney Barn did! The gorgeous contrast between light and dark wood made for stunning photos, and there was very little need to bring our own decorations! The barn was beautiful by itself, but they also offer a plethora of lanterns, lights, games, and decor that match the venue's aesthetic. Every penny that went into this venue was worth it!Andrea was our main point of contact, and we loved working with her since day 1! Her professionalism and organization really streamlined our planning. She gave us all the information we needed to know to ease the workload and made our wedding day a success! Andrea and the Sweeney Barn team really care about their couples, and it shows! Despite how busy they got during peak wedding season, they never forgot about us. They were always prompt to follow up on emails and move our wedding planning forward. We appreciate all the work they put into making our wedding day so special. After seeing Sweeney Barn’s profile, we decided to schedule a walk-thru and instantly knew this was the ideal venue. The barn was recently restored and the facilities & amenities are impeccable. Every detail, from the rustic spiral staircase to the breathtaking ballroom, was exactly what we were looking for and considered ourselves very fortunate to have been married in a classic & elegant venue.While the barn is picture perfect (literally), what made our journey so straightforward was due to the exceptional support from the Sweeney Barn team. Andrea and Ashley worked tirelessly to answer all of our questions (and there were a lot), provided tons of great recommendations and most importantly, minimized the stress that can typically (or unexpectedly) arise. For instance, during Andrea’s final walk-thru, she led the discussion (from start to finish) and utilized her expertise to ensure transparency among all vendors. To nobody’s surprise, everything went as planned the day of the event. We wanted to conclude with a sincere ‘thank you’ to Noel, Andrea and Ashley for making our wedding day so memorable. It likely wouldn’t have been so perfect without all the hard work and dedication from each of them. When we first saw Sweeney Barn we fell in love with it right away! We wanted to have a rustic wedding and getting married in Sweeney Barn which my family grew up around was was the perfect place. We got married on Sept 6 this year and it was absolutely perfect! It was everything we ever dreamed of and more! Andrea and Katie were awesome and they made our day extra special! It was the perfect day! if we could give more than 5 stars I would! Hands down the best day of our lives.

We held our daughter’s wedding reception at Sweeney’s Barn June 2019. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Andrea took all the stress out of the process with her knowledge, attention to detail and professionalism. We were able to relax and enjoy the whole process and the truly celebrate. The Barn exceeded our expectations as a venue. We had 300 guests and the Barn was so spacious that everyone had plenty of room to spread out over different areas with no crowding or bottlenecking. Our guests ranged in ages from infants to elderly so the different areas meant that we could please everyone! The dance floor was hopping all night long with the young ones while those who wanted to sit and catch up with old friends and family were downstairs around lovely, rustic wine barrel style tables. Others were outside playing games or enjoying the patio. We were able to have three bar areas which eliminated any lines.The Barn itself was absolutely gorgeous! It’s obvious that meticulous planning went in to the design and layout as it had so many beautiful features like the spiral staircase, the fabulous lighting and the use of original reclaimed wood. So many photo ops!We had an amazing experience and I would highly recommend Sweeney’s Barn.

Wow. As soon as I saw this venue, I knew I had to have it. The Sweeney Barn is just absolutely beautiful. Andrea, our point of contact, was amazing, professional, and very kind. She helped me book this venue without ever laying my eyes physically on it as I am currently living in Boston and trying to plan a wedding in my hometown. She was also present for our final wedding walk through with our wedding vendor team. Andrea had so many suggestions for where to place chairs/people/vendors and what decor to use (that the Sweeney Barn already had) and where. She was an essential part of our team and helped me feel at ease with her kindness and compassion on the day of the wedding. If they're not booked, you should definitely get married at Sweeney Barn.

Sweeney Barn was the perfect venue! They were able to accommodate my 300 guests and Andrea absolute dream to work with. I cannot day enough good things about this venue! It is absolutely stunning and so flexible. I highly recommend this venue!

Backstory: We originally learned about Sweeney Barn (SB) while it was under construction. The renderings that they had posted were beautiful but at that time, the construction completion date did not work out with our timeline as we needed to coordinate venue/location specific details with our vendors. Just three months before our wedding date, our originally contracted venue (in Maryland) closed down. At that point, the construction of Sweeney Barn had been completed and the venue was open for events. We contacted them to see if by chance they still had our date available and we were so lucky they did.Today’s Story: Love this place! Andrea, the General Manager, is so wonderful - she is professional, helpful, and just a pleasure to work with! She helped us from the beginning to make sure Sweeney Barn was everything we dreamed for our wedding. I was so concerned that we would be upset on our wedding day that our original venue didn’t work out but honestly as time went on throughout the process with SB, all of the memories of our original venue faded and everything at SB was so clear and made so much sense. It is the white barn I dreamed of. It is modern yet relates to its history. It has character. The space is clean and well taken care of. Some benefits of Sweeney Barn: their staff (yes, it is a big deal); their style (the barn can be transformed for many different looks); things to do nearby (Farm Brew Live - in case your guests are early); close to hotels; the ability to do an indoor or outdoor ceremony (or use all of the spaces); some decor and game rentals (included); catering kitchen; floor plans (also helpful for coordinator and caterer use); elevator; projector and screen (instead of paying a dj extra); air-conditioned barn.We could go on and on about how lucky we were to have Sweeney Barn as our venue. You can tell that Andrea and Kathy love what they do - it was such a pleasure to have them as a part of our very special day.

We held a 180+ person event at Sweeney Barn and it was an amazing party. Not only is the place jaw dropping beautiful, the execution of the event was pretty flawless as well by Sweeney Barn and Classic Catering LLC. Our guest had a great time! We could not have asked for more. You need not think twice about booking this venue, Andrea is one of the most responsive individuals out there and a complete sweetheart.

I recently got a tour of Sweeney Barn and must say how impressed I was with not only the venue, but the wonderful staff that will be there to assist you throughout your engagement and on your wedding day! The General Manager, Andrea, was so helpful in explaining details about the venue and has been very quick to respond to any communications. As a renovated dairy barn, this venue will speak to any rustic lover's heart, but its modern touches and gorgeous chandelier lighting make it completely versatile to fit your preferred style or design. For all of these reasons and more, I'm so excited to be partnering with this new venue as a preferred vendor. We can't wait to see how Sweeney Barn helps so many couples and their families celebrate their new marriage with a wedding that they are sure to remember forever.

A beautiful place; perfect for a wedding. Great location and affordable. I predict Sweeney Barn will quickly become one of the premier wedding venues in Northern VA. A site visit should convince anyone of just how nice of a place it is. And Andrea, the GM, is wonderful: professional, organized, easy to talk to and she doesn't miss any details. I would highly encourage all couples looking for an ideal place for a wedding in Northern VA to check it out.

Beautiful venue! A wonderful renovation that brings out a perfect balance of history and modern style. Centrically located for easy access but with an intimacy feel. ABSOLUTELY STUNNING. Andrea graciously agreed to meet with us and showcase the grounds and it exceeded every expectation - even while under construction! She explained everything thoroughly and had no problem answering my questions. So nice! Mason and I are so excited to have our wedding here next year!

Noel and Alannah Sweeney are avid barn lovers and have a personal passion for bringing old properties back to life. They fell in love with the barn the first time they saw it and the surrounding property. They have done their very best to maintain the look and feel of the new barn by incorporating and reusing as much of the old material from the barn as possible during the renovation.
