The wedding location was spectacular and the guests had a great time. However, the Event coordinators were all newly hired and communication and responsiveness to questions was slow to non-existent. The Taft Museum security staff made it very clear by their attitudes that weddings were not welcome and were singularly unhelpful for load-in and load-out directions. Had someone taken 15 seconds to explain the process of how to navigate the back streets under the freeways to gain access to the key card only rear parking entrance, how to access the key card only security door to get to the high tech security office for ID and screening before gaining access to the freight elevator would have taken little effort on anyone's part. Typical helpful instructions - \"Use the back entrance - Google it.\" But the venue was perfect and the guests were none the wiser, which is all that counts. Reviewed on 05-09-2023
Susan Richardson(other)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-05-2022 The Taft Museum of Art is a wonderful wedding venue! We had 125 guests in their courtyard and it was beautiful! We had separate areas for the ceremony, cocktail reception, and a sit down dinner. Betsy Hodges and the event staff were professional, responsive, and very knowledgeable. We didn’t need a separate wedding planner. Betsy set up the timeline for the day of the wedding and was there to make sure all the details were covered. She coordinated with the caterer and all our other vendors to make sure everything went smoothly. Thanks to Betsy everything was perfect! You should take a tour of the Taft Museum of Art before deciding on your venue.I should also point out the excellent location. Downtown Cincinnati but don’t worry about parking, the Taft offered free parking in their garage for the wedding. Lytle Park is across the street, beautiful for wedding photos. And, it is walking distance to a beautiful park on the Ohio River. For your out-of-town guests, The Phelps, A Residence Inn, is next door, and a great place to stay, great service, great rooms, and great breakfast. We hosted both the Rehearsal Dinner and a Welcome reception in their hotel. Reviewed on 13-05-2022
Beth Gunza(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-09-2019 The Taft Museum of Art was not only a beautiful venue for our reception, but the staff there is absolutely amazing! Alyssa went above and beyond for our wedding. She was easily accessible and quick to respond to emails leading up to the day, made sure everything was set up correctly and on time and even reached out after the wedding to coordinate picking up left over cake. Alyssa coordinated with all of my outside vendors and made sure everything went smoothly that day. We did our first look in the courtyard at Taft and the photos turned out absolutely beautiful and the tent is very versatile to accommodate any couple’s style or decor. The tent and courtyard of the Taft allowed for an “outdoor wedding” while still having protection from any weather. We would highly recommend the Taft and Alyssa for a wedding reception! Melissa T(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-05-2019 The Taft Museum is an absolutely beautiful venue! We were so pleased with the versatility of using the indoor and outdoor space, especially the use of the tent. We were even able to use the gallery inside the museum for our first look. We had different coordinators from the start of planning to the finish which made communication difficult at times. Make sure to read all the fine print when it comes to contract. There were some hidden fees that we were unaware of. You also cannot smoke on the premises and no flame burning candles are allowed. Overall, I would recommend this venue to any bride who is looking for unforgettable space! Reviewed on 03-10-2019
Sara Loving(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-06-2019 The Taft Museum is a beautiful place to get married! We had to work with multiple coordinators (they were in a transitional phase), and all were fabulous, communicative, and organized. Our coordinator the day of the wedding was FANTASTIC. The rest of the Taft staff are fabulous to work with and definitely know what they are doing. The wedding day went off without a hitch and we couldn't have asked for a better day. If you can, opt for leaving the museum open during cocktail hour. We had many guests tell us how much they enjoyed touring the museum. Reviewed on 14-06-2019

I can't tell you how much I valued her input, patience and guidance. The whole staff at the Taft were excellent to work with. Our dinner was in the tent and it made for a lovely evening. Abby Beachler(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-07-2018 I had my wedding at The Taft Museum of Art in July 2018 and we are SO HAPPY we went with this venue. The Taft recently hired a new event manager, Alyssa, and she is WONDERFUL. Her boss, Nick, was also helpful making sure her transition into the new role went smoothly. Nick reassured me and answered every question during the transition process. Everyone answered all my questions and met with me two weeks before the big day to make sure every detail was covered. Alyssa made sure all the vendors knew what they were doing when they arrived and I didn't have to handle a thing the day of. She took care of everything after the reception had ended and my fiance and I could party alongside our guests - not worrying about where the decorations would go or what things needed to get thrown away. We were even able to pick items up the next day so nobody had to carry items to their car after the wedding ended. Alyssa texted me the morning of and found me when I arrived at the venue to see if I needed anything. At one point, I was shaking from hunger and she brought me out a whole plate of hors d'oeuvres. I just can't say enough wonderful things about the staff at the Taft. Make sure you go with the caterer at The Taft, Luke -- we got SO many compliments on the food! It was the best wedding food I've ever had. Reviewed on 19-07-2018
Stephanie Tewell(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-04-2018 We hosted an afternoon wedding at the Taft. We worked with Nick who helped plan the event and Luke who set our menu. The event went absolutely smoothly and we enjoyed every minute. Nick managed multiple vendors, kept the event moving and was very flexible in making adjustments as the weather was much chillier than anticipated. Our reception food was of exceptional quality. Like many couples, we were nervous about our ceremony and reception and our expectations were exceeded. Reviewed on 03-05-2018

Jenna is wonderful to work with and truly helped make our reception be everything and more we could have ever hoped for. The tented event space is absolutely gorgeous. It looks out at the red brick patio and garden and set the most amazing vibe for our reception. The Taft was flexible about how I wanted things set up and did not disappoint. I can't recommend the space more, we LOVED it. Bonus - its downtown and across the street from a hotel, where our out-of-town guests stayed/ we had our after party. Super convenient! Asia Reid(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-10-2017 I had an absolutely incredible experience working with the Taft Museum to plan my wedding! The setting was perfect - ceremony in the garden, cocktails on the patio, and reception under the twinkly tent - it couldn't have been more beautiful, or more convenient and hassle-free for all of our guests. Because the venue is so gorgeous on its own, it really lightens the planning load and makes your job so much easier!! Additionally, they've got a long list of vendors that they work with regularly, so there is very little extra coordination needed to pull all the various elements together for one smooth, cohesive event. On top of that, Jenna - the Taft's in-house planner - is AMAZING. She must have answered 1000 emails and phone calls from me over the course of our months of planning, and she always did it happily and helpfully. She really knows her stuff, and is willing and able to jump in and coordinate with all your vendors - from caterer to band to florist - to make things simple and seamless. By the time the wedding weekend rolled around, there was very little I needed to take care of because she was so on top of it. The price of the Taft is worth every penny based on Jenna alone!! I really and truly would recommend the Taft Museum to anyone who is looking to host a gorgeous wedding in one of Cincinnati's hidden gem locations while keeping their stress levels low. My groom, our families and our guests could not say enough amazing things about the Taft. Jenna. Is. Amazing. She is the coordinator and was truly a godsend to me. She answered every single question we had honestly and timely. She coordinator with other vendors as well to set up the times of arrival and other details. She was there the day before and the night of to help everything go smoothly. Our reception could not have gone better and I know part of that is because of her. Regarding cost, you just have to ask. She will tell you what is included and what is additional. Every budget is different. As a bride, if you have certain things that you definitely want and its a must have for you, make sure you ask up front. She will be honest and do her best to accommodate!
