The perfect combination of modern and rustic, Taharaa Mountain Lodge and The Twin Owls Steakhouse are an ideal space to host a private and intimate wedding. In addition to the event space, known for its soaring ceilings and panoramic views, the onsite bed and breakfast creates an unforgettable mountain retreat. Taharaa provides two well-appointed spaces for couples to prepare with their wedding parties: the well-appointed Day of Bridal Spa and the luxurious Cattle Baron Honeymoon Suite. Taharaa offers two unique ceremony sites, one outdoor site and one indoor site, providing couples a beautiful location to tie the knot no matter the season or the weather. The Pergola is a stunning outdoor ceremony site surrounded by evergreens and aspen trees; the indoor ceremony location is the Overlook Room, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows and epic mountain views. After the ceremony, the Overlook Room transforms to a cocktail hour space, and later in the evening, a spacious dance floor with string lights. Dinner is served in the Twin Owls Room which features a custom-built bar and stone fireplace. In addition to more million-dollar views of the Estes Valley, guests also enjoy the award-winning food of Twin Owls Steakhouse. All-inclusive catering and bar packages offer a simple way to cover the majority of wedding needs, especially for those planning from afar. Packages for small receptions (20-50 guests), larger weddings (up to 120 guests), and rehearsal/welcome dinners are available.

Wedding Date 27-07-2019
Due to a mixup at our previously-scheduled venue, we were stuck less than two months out from our wedding in Estes Park without a reception venue. Without the super friendly and accomodating staff at Taharaa Mountain Lodge (and a lot of luck), we wouldn't have had the perfect wedding day that we did. Sandra and Thad were very responsive during our frantic process of re-planning, and couldn't have been more helpful on the big day. The views from the event room were breathtaking, the staff was great, and the local beer options added a really nice touch since we both love Colorado breweries. Taharaa was better than we could have imagined, and looking back we are so glad that everything worked out the way that it did!

I could not be more happy about Taharra Mountain Lodge/ Twin Owls Steakhouse hosting our wedding. For us, food was important and even though we didn't eat at Twins Owl prior to booking them, we knew having a kitchen would be better than just something catered. The views of this location was also made us say yes. Majority of our guests weren't from Colorado, so we wanted something enchanting and beautiful to help our friends and family fall in love with this state too. We're so fortunate to be surrounded by so much beauty. We knew we wanted to get married at St Catherine's Chapel on the Rock, so Taharra was certainly a convenient location for that. Although you might have to decide who'd be staying at the Lodge if you're planning a larger wedding, I'd 100% buy the lodge out. I absolutely loved working with Beth. And Vikki was such great help, especially during the weekend and having guests locking themselves out of their rooms! The only thing I wish we did, was stay a night before the rehearsal so we could have actually use the sauna and Jacuzzi.

I struggle writing this review because Beth and her events team were amazing!! She was great to work with and very flexible. I am a strict vegetarian and Chef was very accommodating (stating he would dump his fryer, clean it, and use new oil that didn’t cook meat). The flow of events was perfect and the views were amazing. The whole lodge was bought out by our guests, so it was so fun to be around our loved ones! The issue was, on Sunday after the wedding and check-out, we heard our guest’s experiences with lodging. First, it appears that the plumbing did not work (looking at past reviews, this seems to be an ongoing issue with the property). Two room’s did not have water from the shower. These guests had to use other people’s shower’s (which ended up being 4 people to a shower). My sister-in-law’s toilet would not flush at all. These issues would have been frustrating enough, but what really was tough was how it was handled by management. When my father-in-law approached the manager, she told him to use a plunger, and when he told her that was not working, she told him there was nothing they could do about it and walked away. Also, when guests were checking in, she seemed flustered and made them wait until there was a larger group to do a check-in. If she was kinder about it, it wouldn’t have been an issue, but for my uncles, she made them stand outside, not giving water or the code to go inside, which at 85-90 degree sunny weather was unnecessary. Lastly, when my husband and I checked in, she told me I could have my breakfast in the bridal suite. I told my bridesmaids staying at the property that I would have a scrummy breakfast for them, but if they wanted to eat their breakfast from Taharaa they could eat it in the bridal suite. One of my bridesmaids tried to do this, was yelled at, and so my bridesmaids had to eat in the dining hall area, which separated the group and pushed back my hair and makeup artist’s schedule. It just seemed unnecessary for so many of my guests to be treated rudely. To be clear, I had none of these issues (I was treated very respectfully), but almost everyone approached Matt and I with a story they experienced. This reflects poorly on my husband and I. We had the most perfect wedding in such a beautiful area, so I would strongly recommend getting married at Taharaa and working with Beth (she was very professional and everyone loved the food–not always the case with weddings; 5/5 recommendation), but until they fix some of the plumbing and hospitality aspects, I would not recommend having guests stay in their lodging (Except for their honeymoon suite, this was a very lovely room; we would give them a 2.5/5 review for lodging). As an aside, we were told we could not hear cars at the ceremony site. Our ceremony was so lovely and beautiful, but if future couples are wondering the same question, you can very clearly hear the passing cars. Nothing we could do about it, but just wanted to let y’all know!

The venue itself is unmatched. Beth and the whole crew helped make our entire day so perfect. Every single guest kept telling us how stunning the view was, how delicious the food was, and how smooth the whole experience was. I can't recommend enough.

We hired Taharaa and Twin Owls for our wedding and oh my gosh - they were amazing! First, we reserved all 18 rooms at the lodge for our wedding party and immediate family. Vicki was great to work with, and she helped us coordinate everyone. It was so convenient for the rehearsal and wedding. Highly recommend!We also worked with Beth as our events manager. She is so friendly and detail-oriented. Everything went smoothly, from our tour to tasting to actual wedding. We were able to pick our linen colors, and then Twin Owls provides the tables, plates, etc. The food is fantastic at Twin Owls. The space itself is SO special. We had our ceremony outside at the pergola and then our reception inside at the steakhouse. It was seamless to have everything onsite. Even with bad weather, there was a backup plan, which gave me peace of mind leading up to our wedding since Colorado summers can be unpredictable. There were a lot of photo opportunities on the property, including their patio with big, bright windows. Perfect location for a dream Colorado mountain wedding!

We hosted the rehearsal dinner for 40 that evolved into a welcome party for 120. The staff was attentive, well prepared and the chef was amazing, even when we were running 45 minutes late! Beth was responsive and took copious notes on layout and transition a month in advance. It was the best pre-wedding event we could have had - buying out the venue for the night. Our guests were delighted with the welcome to the destination wedding!

An amazing venue to have your wedding in! We had the most amazing weekend staying on site and having our wedding ceremony with Taharaa. Almost every person on their staff was more than accommodating. Especially the owner Thad and motel manager Emma! Made to order from a menu of items breakfast each morning, coffee outside your door waiting for you, and attentive housekeeping staff. The views and rooms are amazing. I wish I could give them 5 stars because the majority of the staff and experience deserve it, however I feel it wouldn't be an accurate representation of the whole experience. We had several issues over the process of planning our wedding there with their head coordinator Kathy. Our communication with her was often confusing. She had clauses left in our contract we signed that she then went back on stating she forgot to change that detail or take it out; insisting on implementing the \"corrected\" items. We submitted our bar menu to her and the secondary coordinator had no record of it when we arrived on our wedding weekend. The secondary coordinator we dealt with during our wedding weekend was amazing! I'm sorry I don't remember her name but we wished she was who we planned with from the very beginning. She made things very easy and smooth for us. Kathy was not there on our wedding weekend, thankfully. The other issue we had was with our male bartender employed with Taharaa. I have had several family members tell me after our wedding weekend that he was very rude and/or abrupt with them. My parents and best friend surprised us with our dog being the theme at the bar. Stir sticks with his face on top and drink toppers with either his face or our initials logo. The male bartender refused to include these items in our guests drinks. The female bartender had no issue with this and tried to put them in our guests drinks but the male bartender told her to stop. My parents were hurt over this after the planning and money they put into this special small detail. We did not have a large guest count so I don't feel it should have been such a big deal to take a couple seconds each drink to include these items. It's not like we had super long lines of people wearing for drinks throughout the night. Overall though I would choose this venue again and despite this I would still recommend choosing this venue. The pros outweigh the cons!

Taharaa Mountain Lodge was the perfect location for our National Park/Winter Woodland theme wedding reception. The beautiful views out the huge glass windows were what really attracted us to the site. The location felt like a get-away but was still convenient for friends and family. The food was fantastic, staff was great to work with, accommodations were excellent.

Our wedding at Taharaa was the most beautiful day imaginable. Kathy and Beth were great to work with and responded quickly to emails/questions. This is such a beautiful venue that minimal decor is needed. The food from Twin Owls is amazing, we had so many of our guests tell us that this was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. Taharaa is not a cheap venue, but it is worth every penny.

Their coordinator makes everything so easy. The views are stunning and the bistro/cafe lights for ambience are included as well. Very little is needed other than a few center pieces. Kathy and the Taharaa team did so much for our wedding! It was a dream come true and we couldn’t have done it without them! They were such great communicators and made it so easy for us. The venue was amazing and all our guests loved it! The food was top notch, the scenery was great, and staying at the lodge was a true getaway. Kathy and the Taharaa team did so much for our wedding! It was a dream come true and we couldn’t have done it without them! They were such great communicators and made it so easy for us. The venue was amazing and all our guests loved it! The food was top notch, the scenery was great, and staying at the lodge was a true getaway. They truly made it an amazing experience and we couldn’t have picked a better venue!

This venue was everything we could have dreamed of and more! First of all, it is such a stunning mountain venue. The view is absolutely incredible and the reception room is stunning. There is a lovely bridal suite to get ready in and my whole wedding party raved about how seamless everything was over the weekend. Kathy was so wonderful to work with and responded to all of our questions throughout the planning process so quickly. Everyone was so kind and easy to work with, and was extremely flexible with some last minute changes we had. I truly could not have been happier with this venue. Our wedding day was everything we could have dreamed of and it was mostly thanks to this incredible venue and team!

This venue was everything we could have dreamed of and more! First of all, it is such a stunning mountain venue. The view is absolutely incredible and the reception room is stunning. There is a lovely bridal suite to get ready in and my whole wedding party raved about how seamless everything was over the weekend. Kathy was so wonderful to work with and responded to all of our questions throughout the planning process so quickly. Everyone was so kind and easy to work with, and was extremely flexible with some last minute changes we had. I truly could not have been happier with this venue. Our wedding day was everything we could have dreamed of and it was mostly thanks to this incredible venue and team!

My husband and I held our wedding at Taharaa Mountain Lodge, and I only have amazing things to say about the venue, the staff, and our overall experience!The lodge itself is unbelievable - it is luxurious yet homey at the same time, and makes for a wonderful mountain getaway for you and your guests. Vicky, the lodge manager, was so helpful with everything from accommodating for off-hours check-ins, any and all room needs, and of course, cooking delicious handmade breakfast every morning! Kathy, the event coordinator, was just awesome to work with. She truly made the wedding planning process easier and less stressful. She was communicative, detail oriented, and always willing to hop on a call or set up a meeting for wedding planning details. Her expertise in this field really came to light throughout our wedding planning process, and it was very much appreciated.The Twin Owls Steakhouse staff was professional and helpful, and the food is amazing! We recently held our Ceremony and Reception at Taharaa Mountain Lodge in the beautiful town of Estes Park, CO. We had an incredible experience! The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and kind to the wedding party and all of my guest. The food was so good, we highly recommend the \"Elk Bites\"! We were able to get ready on site and since the Honeymoon Suite was not ready, we were able to get ready in the beautiful Bridal Suite. We were worried about being outside on the patio for the reception, as the weather was beginning to cool, but it was perfect, they made sure we were comfortable and warm. I would highly recommend this location. We will certainly be back in the future to celebrate anniversaries!

My wedding was August 1st, 2021 at Taharaa Mountain Lodge. I had a great experience with the event manager, Kathy, and owner, Sandra. They were very helpful and answered all of my MANY emails in a timely manner, which is HUGE for a crazy bride! Kathy listened to all of my requests/questions and helped with all of the details! She also helped with the rehearsal and set up our dessert table so nicely for the reception! Kathy had the reception room ready to go right when we were allowed to set up, which was so nice and kept us on schedule! The venue was gorgeous! The new bridal suite was also really nice to get ready in! However, it was warm in there, so turn the AC on ASAP. Great views inside and out! The food was also really good, and the bartender was amazing! Wedding itself: no complaints! I would give them 5/5! However, the hotel staff there was just rude and impacted my experience. They did not make my family and guests feel welcomed and made them feel like they did something wrong when they just got there. This was embarrassing and such a disappointment for me, as I wanted my guests to enjoy their time after traveling from around the country. Warning: the hotel will NOT let you check in early and takes their time when checking you in. So, make sure you schedule your rehearsal time accordingly because this was a big frustration for me. Overall, great place to have a wedding, but not a welcoming place to have your guests stay.

Taharaa is not simply a mountain event venue, but at its heart, a hospitality haven. The entire process of planning this wedding, including the stress of Covid restrictions, became pretty effortless under the calm, warm, and organized demeanor of Sandra Huerta, the proprietor and owner. This lady is unflappable! So grateful.Our daughter and her fiancee hoped for a day with beautiful multi-course food, spectacular flowers and candlelight ambience, and live jazz music. Taharaa managed all the details to perfection. We had six different vendors coordinating with their in-house staff for an unforgettable evening. Every request we made was accommodated. The food is a real star at Taharaa! Chef Rich has extensive experience with wedding fare. He was delighted to work with us to create a unique menu for our guests with seasonal and regional offerings throughout the evening. The house bartender created 5 lovely signature cocktails for the evening including a delicious non-alcoholic mocktail for our teetotaler friends and underage drinkers. Our reception was a classy celebration of love and life, in a very disappointing year. For that night, we forgot about Covid, and enjoyed an intimate evening swimming in beauty and joy! Taharaa and their gracious staff were always responsive, thoughtful, and courteous. Cannot recommend them enough for one of a kind, memory making events. Thank you, Taharaa! It really was perfect.

We had our wedding at Taharaa over Labor Day weekend, and it was everything we dreamed of! The location and staff were amazing. It was the perfect setting for the rustic mountain wedding we wanted. The staff was so helpful throughout the entire process. They were very responsive during the planning phases with many great suggestions for us. They were so accommodating and helpful from the second we arrived for our weekend, including all the set-up and take-down of everything. Meta and Teresa did a phenomenal job communicating and making sure everything ran smoothly. It was very stress free! And the location is SO BEAUTIFUL! I loved that the ceremony site was a walk across the parking lot from the reception hall, and there were views of RMNP from the reception deck. If we were to get married again we would absolutely chose Taharaa all over again, and we hope to be back to celebrate anniversaries!

The venue is not only gorgeous, but very functional for having an indoor or outdoor wedding depending on the weather. Both the indoor and outdoor options are beautiful, and our guests were so impressed by the venue! There are several areas to accommodate anything you want to add to your reception or ceremony. For example: we had a photo booth and a couple of lawn games, which fit in perfectly without compromising the space for the dance floor. We had 80 people at our wedding, and the venue worked perfectly, but it would definitely be great for >100 or <50 people as well!Metta and Terisa were seriously incredible. Our day went without any hitches due to their organization and help. From day one, they have been so friendly and responsive in answering all of our questions and accommodating all of our requests. We could not have asked for a more stunning venue or more delightful staff to work with for our wedding! Terisa was the point person for our wedding and she handled all of the details seamlessly. I could always tell that she and the Tracy family were on top of things. We and our guests also loved staying at the Taharaa for several nights. The rooms are all stunningly beautiful (fireplaces, lovely decor, balconies with views, etc.) and the breakfast is divine! The staff here goes above and beyond. We will definitely be coming back for a future anniversary!

We could not have asked for a more stunning venue or more delightful staff to work with for our wedding! Terisa was the point person for our wedding and she handled all of the details seamlessly. I could always tell that she and the Tracy family were on top of things. We and our guests also loved staying at the Taharaa for several nights. The rooms are all stunningly beautiful (fireplaces, lovely decor, balconies with views, etc.) and the breakfast is divine! The staff here goes above and beyond. We will definitely be coming back for a future anniversary!

My husband and I got married at Taharaa Mountain Lodge in December 2016! It was freezing that day, but we still had the best experience and most perfect wedding we could have ever ask for! On top of the wedding being perfect, the staff at Taharaa Mountain Lodge made our day even better as they made it very laid back and stress free as they helped take care of just about everything! Meta and Terisa were absolutely wonderful and very kind to us and our family and friends, and if you are looking to have a destination wedding, look to Estes Park, Colorado and go to Taharaa Mountain Lodge! You will not be disappointed!

I wish there was a way to give them more stars! We just loved our choice with Taharaa! Terissa and Metta do a wonderful job of helping set everything up, getting everyone where they should be during the rehearsal and the wedding day, and just keeping the event going smoothly. We chose to rent all of the lodge out for family and friends, and that made the weekend even more special, because it was private and felt like a huge celebration. My guests were stunned by the views, location, and even the breakfasts each morning. Our wedding day was truly magical and perfect, and I think a lot of that had to do with this venue and the people working there. I recommend it to anyone and everyone!

We had our wedding at the Taharaa Mountain Lodge this past September and it was absolutely incredible. From our very first meeting with them to the day we left they went above and beyond for us to help us create the wedding of our dreams. We were really looking to have a laid back mountain wedding with our friends and family and that is exactly what we got. The venue is incredible with gorgeous views and with the option to book the rooms for our family and friends it just made it feel like one big home. We had a really low key wedding and actually did not do a lot of the \"traditional\" stuff that weddings and receptions often have and their staff embraced that with us, which I really appreciated. Also, they did so many things to make us feel relaxed and really special leading up to the big day and especially on the big day. Breakfast is delicious every morning and the happy hours were great as well. It was everything we were hoping for and so much more! We are already talking about going back to visit soon! Thank you Metta, Josh, Terisa, and Thom- you guys are amazing!!

This was an amazing setting for our wedding weekend. I say weekend because we were the only event there for those three days. We ended up booking the whole lodge for our family and friends. They are a bed and breakfast and the breakfasts were amazing all three days we were there. The rooms were comfortable with amazing views and a real lodge feel. The great hall is bright, spacious, clean, and has a nice lodge feel with the antler chandeliers and fireplace, which served as the perfect place for our reception. The staff, especially wedding coordinators Metta and Terisa, were amazing. They went above and beyond to make the day of the wedding run smoothly according to our vision. From letting us come in early to decorate, to taking care of moving the gifts, and even running the bar. They worried about the details so we didn’t have to. They coordinated with all the vendors so everyone knew where to go and what to do. They made the wedding weekend very personal and stress free. We would highly recommend the Taharaa Mountain Lodge as a beautiful setting for any special event. It will be a weekend that we and our guests will cherish for a long time.

What you will come to appreciate only during the planning and execution of your event is that, in addition to those views, you get a management team that is truly great to work with and committed to making your day as special as it possibly can be. The staff are involved from the beginning, and are able to help navigate issues and decisions, a lot of which you wouldn’t have thought of on your own! On the day of the event, set-up was flawless and neither the bride nor the groom were bothered once with any questions. Same with the execution of the event and the interaction with our other vendors – caterer, band, dessert, etc. We can’t thank the people at Taharaa for their help in planning and holding our event. And as for the space itself, our guests were in awe at the jaw-dropping beauty of Estes Park that is on display from Taharaa. We chose to put bistro lights on the porch, which made for a great “indoor-outdoor” space throughout the reception. And, we were lucky enough to have some elk join us outside for a brief time during our reception which was fun to watch. Finally, being able to rent out the entire lodge so every room was filled with friends and family was really special and made for a very “homey” feel the entire weekend. We couldn’t be happier we held our wedding reception at Taharaa Mountain Lodge and look forward to returning many times in the years to come.

I had my wedding at taharaa and I could be happier. The staff was amazing and helped with everything. I was planning my wedding for 2 year's and when it finally came that day I was completely stress free thanks to the staff at taharaa. We had booked the whole lodge and it was so incredibly nice to have all my friends and family staying there for 2 nights. The views from every window and balcony is amazing. My now husband and I loved very bit of our wedding. Before check out my husband booked a room for our anniversary next year. Love the staff and venue. My son's wedding was held at the Taharra Mountain Lodge. The staff was very helpful from the planning stage to the actual event. They took care of a lot of the details like setting up and tearing down the the reception hall, leaving all of us to focus on the bride and groom. We had the entire place reserved for the wedding so for 2 days, it was all our friends and family in one place. \rThe facility itself is a beautiful place with great scenery from wherever you are. Our wedding was in October so the colors were even more amazing. The elk paying a visit was a definite extra!!!!! The rooms are spacious and clean and include everything you need .Breakfast was good and filling and very relaxing for us.We were even able to take off and enjoy Estes Park the morning of the wedding,\rThank you for making my son's big day stress free, beautiful and everything we dreamed it would be! All of our guests commented about the beauty of the facility and the caring staff. I would recommend the Taharaa for any special event!!!! Thank you again!

This weekend my husband and I got married-- it was absolutely amazing and a lot of the credit goes to Taharaa and their fabulous staff. Metta and Terisa are the best duo. Their attention to detail, great listening skills, calmness and professionalism blew us away. On top of that, their location is the most gorgeous of all the venues we toured. It was seriously the most picture perfect weekend. Thank you Taharaa team--we loved every minute and appreciate all of the work you guys did for us!

I think every bride says this, but I had the best wedding EVER and Taharaa was such a big part of the day's perfection! From the day that I expressed interest in the lodge the staff was professional, helpful and downright AWESOME! Our party spent the entire weekend at the lodge. Friday night started off with a warm welcome followed by an intimate happy hour. The day of the wedding, we woke up to a restaurant style breakfast that was delicious and started the day off perfectly. One of the most amazing parts of the day was the lack of stress I felt. Taharaa took care of everything from communicating with the vendors to setting up the reception. I was so impressed by their organization and accountability that I did not feel that I needed to micro manage the set up of anything and neither did my parents or the bridal party. The night was simply perfect and everything I had hoped for.

I loved this place the minute I set foot in it. The outdoor ceremony site was so beautiful, I couldn't have imagined a more picturesque setting. The reception hall was also spectacular. The beauty and rustic feel of this venue really adds to the romance. The service was very helpful; always asking what more they could do for us on the wedding day. We had only a few hiccups in the months beforehand with payments and communication issues but everything worked out. I loved this place the minute I set foot in it. The outdoor ceremony site was so beautiful, I couldn't have imagined a more picturesque setting. The reception hall was also spectacular. The beauty and rustic feel of this venue really adds to the romance. The service was very helpful; always asking what more they could do for us on the wedding day. We had only a few hiccups in the months beforehand with payments and communication issues but everything worked out. Also the wedding package has a fairly limited amount of time and resources allotted for the price but considering the location and setting, it was very comparable. Fantastic overall!

I cannot say enough wondreful things about this place. Diane and Elizabeth worked with us right down to the last detail! It happened to snow on my wedding day 10/08/2011 and everything was taken care of. The ceremony was breathtaking on the deck, the main hall was more than larg enough for all our guests, vendors and dancing. They make you feel like family the entire stay. Anyone who goes to view Taharaa can see that it is a beautiful place to hold your wedding. What I can say as someone who had my wedding there is that the staff without a doubt made our wedding what it was (fabulous). No matter how organized you feel like you are, when the big day comes, you will be a mess. Diane Harlan at Taharaa was a complete rock star. She acted as day-of-coordinator which made the cost of the venue that much more reasonable because she's worth so much more than I could ever say. She completely knows her stuff and runs Taharaa with the love that only an owner could. She thought of positively everything and was patient and helpful during all of our freak-outs (even when I woke her up at midnight because I locked myself out of my suite). Knowing that she and her staff are amazing at what they do helped me calm down and enjoy my day. I knew everything would be taken care of and they did not disappoint. Any place can have a beautiful ballroom or a beautiful view like Taharaa, but the quality of the service you receive at Taharaa will make you feel so special (exactly what you want on your wedding day). \r\rWe chose to have our wedding on the balcony and it was a great choice for both the time of the year and the time of the day (Mid-August at 4:30pm). The ballroom was perfectly sized for everything we needed to do and the execution of the evening was flawless (I didn't even notice when the buffet tables disappeared). Taharaa is a beautiful place for a wedding, inside and out. Unlike many of the other places in Estes, it's not dark and dusty feeling, because it's so new and nice and well decorated inside (mountain feel without being cheesy). We picked it because we liked both the outdoor and indoor option for the ceremony. It did rain some on our actual wedding day but we still used the outdoor pergola, and then had cocktail hour on the covered deck, and the reception inside. The Great Hall for the reception is awesome, and many of our guests stayed right upstairs in the nice rooms. The Cattle Baron Suite is super nice and made us feel special on our wedding night. I would definitely recommend Taharaa to a friend.

The owners, Ken and Diane, as well as all of their staff are so kind and helpful, and they worked very hard to make sure that our wedding was perfect and that we didn't have to worrry about a thing that day. It is an absolutely beautiful place, the suite we stayed in is huge and extremely comfortable and clean- a perfect spot for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready! What you get for your money is so much more than any other place in Estes Park. I could go on and on, but the bottom line is that Taharaa is the best!

We looked at many places to have a mountain-themed wedding that would feel like a destinationto our many out of town guests. When we found Taharaa, we knew it was the perfect place. The great room is beautiful and rustic and the outdoor ceremony site was exactly what we were looking for. We even changed our wedding date so that we could have it at Taharaa and are so glad that we did. We couldn't imagine it anywhere else, and many of our guests complimented us on the location and the beauty of the surroundings.\rDiane and all of her staff were very helpful during the planning process with vendor recommendations and suggestions for the timeline for the day. They were also accomodating of some special requests we had before the event. They exceeded our expectations on the day of the wedding, and helped to keep everything running smoothly and on-time as well as making sure that we (bride and groom) always had everything we needed and that we felt good about how things were progressing. \rDiane (the proprietor) was also very helpful on the night of our rehearsal, helping us with last minute details and suggestions. She made us feel very special during the entire weekend. There was no need to hire a day of wedding coordinator because Diane and her staff were fantastic.\rTaharaa is a bed-and-breakfast which has a 2-3 night minimum stay, and there were not enough rooms for all 125 guests. The great room fit all of the guests comfortably for the reception, but there were not enough rooms in the lodge for all guests to stay in the same place. Fortunately Mary's Lake Lodge is only about 1 mile away and most of our guests were able to stay there.\rWe would definitely recommend Taharaa for a beautiful mountain wedding! Diane and her team will ensure the day goes as perfect as possible!\rWe look forward to returning to Taharaa to celebrate an anniversary.

My husband described our wedding as a \"fairy tale\" and he was absolutely correct. Taharaa was the most beautiful place to have a wedding and the staff was so fantastic. They felt like (and still do) family to us. Diane (owner) took care of everything that night and helped keep things going so smoothly, all we had to do was enjoy our special day without worries.\rThe lodge is so uniquely beautiful and is elegant with a \"mountain\" theme. We fell in love with it the minute we walked in.\rThe rooms are all so romantic, all have fireplaces and a balcony overlooking the mountains. There is a special happy hour for guests only and is really fun. \rOne of the most memorable things is the really yummy breakfast for guests only that you get in the morning cooked by the owners. They are from New Orleans, so they really know how to cook!\rWe have been back for our anniversary and it just feels like a romantic get-away, but returning to see family at the same time.\rWe highly recommend the Taharaa for a wedding, it FAR EXCEEDED our expectations on the most important night of our lives. Please consider this for your wedding or just a romantic getaway, you won't regret it.

This venue is a beautiful place to host a wedding which is why we chose it. The reception area has an unbelievable view of rocky mountain national park. The management however ruined everything. Specifically one owner -- she is intolerant of any sound above a whisper and has no problem being extremely rude to wedding guests. Upon arrival we received a 'welcome letter' that was full of nothing but rules and things we were not allowed to do. For the amount of money we paid to rent this space we should have felt like the most important people there, at the very least treated with the same respect and courtesy as the other guests. Instead we were treated as if we were in the way of the other guests at the lodge and any sound we made was 'too loud' and she had no problem speaking her mind in front of our family members. I would NEVER recommend this venue for a reception because of how we were treated by the management. It's a beautiful lodge and if you are an older couple that wants complete silence by 8 pm and no one under the age of 13 allowed to be in your sight then you might enjoy it. But you will only be allowed to have coffee or have breakfast when the owners think its time for you to have coffee -- at least thats what my father was told when we checked in. If you want to have any fun and not risk your guests feeling unwelcome within 5 minutes of arriving to your reception I would advise you look elsewhere.
