From sweet and simple wedding ceremonies to large-scale celebrations, Tamarack Lodge & Glamping Resort in Voluntown, CT, is where rustic elegance meets an exquisite attention to detail. Legends about the lodge date back to the early 1800s, when it began life as a blacksmith’s forge, then served as a water-powered wheelwright. It was transformed into a resort during the 1940s, and is today a sought-after wedding, event, and festival destination. Tamarack hosts indoor and outdoor weddings year-round. Overnight accommodations include vintage cabins, a fully renovated guest house, and glamping tents with modern amenities. The Main Lodge features two event spaces, a large stone hearth, vaulted ceilings, exposed post-and-beam architecture and vintage, reclaimed chandeliers. There is ample space for dinner and dancing; including the upscale, modern Overlook Room, with windows looking out over the field and forest on three sides. The layout in the Main Lodge is ideal for families with a mix of older and younger guests. Guests can dance the night away in one room or catch up over cake and coffee in another. On cooler evenings, fire pits are lit under the long pergola, which is banked by rows of lavender and calla lilies. Outdoor ceremony spots abound, including the beautiful Brookside. This private forest setting is located in a clearing off an accessible trail. The Lodge has a customized golf cart on hand to bring any loved ones with mobility issues down to the ceremony, although the trail can also be traversed via motorized wheelchair. The resort is nestled under a New England canopy of Maple, Oak, Aspen, Black Birch, and White Pine trees, and its many onsite trails wind through an orchard and alongside water features. Couples can walk a rustic footbridge or climb aboard a canoe and have pictures taken against the beautiful background of Beach Pond Lake. There are many scenic and architectural features that are original to the property, which make for distinct and memorable wedding photos. The Lodge also maintains an organic kitchen garden onsite, and prioritizes both creativity and fresh and sustainable ingredients in all its menus and offerings. Located in Pachaug State Forest in Voluntown, Connecticut, Tamarack Lodge is conveniently accessible to New England and New York. It's also within 20 minutes of both Mystic, Connecticut and its famous seaside tourist attractions; and the equally well-known, world-class Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Casinos.
