Gracious and Elegant Tanglewood Plantation
Tanglewood Plantation is a historic wedding venue in Lynchburg, SC, in close proximity to nearby towns Florence, Sumter, and Charleston, SC. Initially constructed in the 1830s, the great house features architectural elements of the Greek Revival style with its two-story porch and square columns. The manor is nestled on 25 acres of manicured land and still possesses the original wooden cladding on the exterior, owing to the continuous efforts to preserve the property over the years. Several attractive event spaces are sprawled throughout the estate, both indoors and outdoors, perfect for hosting the ceremony, cocktail hour, and evening reception. The property is owned and operated by Jamie and Orville Dyce since 2014, who have devoted countless hours to upgrading the amenities and making it a comfortable venue for special occasions. Couples can celebrate their nuptials with up to 500 of their nearest and dearest due to the expansive gardens at their disposal. Event tents may be set up to create a sheltered outdoor event space, creating a dreamy day-to-night experience. Tanglewood Plantation offers two wedding packages to accommodate couples' different needs and wants. Couples can choose between the DIY venue-only package and the all-inclusive package, which includes tables, chairs, and other event rentals. The venue has an abundance of backdrops for beautiful photographs, and couples can also avail themselves of a rehearsal time slot to ensure everything goes smoothly on the big day. Other amenities include kitchen facilities for the catering company, a getting-ready suite, and exclusive access to the grounds for the special occasion. The team can set up and tear down the event.

My wedding was in September at Tanglewood and it was truly what dreams are made of no matter how cliché that may sound. This Venue has always held a special place in my heart just from attending weddings there and now it forever will. The grounds itself are breathtakingly beautiful and the staff just completed it. CherylLynn handled my day with such grace. She managed to give me the most stress free day possible. Tanglewood is just the epitome of southern charm and I honestly couldn't recommend any other place for a new bride who is searching for the perfect spot.

My daughter just recently got married at Tanglewood Plantation back in September 2023 and I couldn’t have asked for a better venue. We were very impressed by the way it was so organized and from the time that was spent there CherylLyn made the bride and groom stress free. She was great and made the venue very welcoming. I felt like I had known her forever. It was beautiful and the staff was very helpful. If you are planning a wedding this is definitely the place.

The wedding coordinator for Tanglewood, CherylLyn, made our wedding SO perfect! She is AMAZING, and knows exactly what she is doing and talking about. My husband and I couldn’t have picked a better wedding coordinator and venue! Tanglewood Plantation was absolutely STUNNING for our ceremony and reception. The scenery is beautiful (you get THE BEST pictures) and the location is perfect if you want a quiet venue. We are so happy and grateful for everything CherylLyn has done for us (she has gone out of her way multiple times when she didn’t have to, and that meant the world to us) and we will never forget the best day of our lives at Tanglewood Plantation! We couldn’t have picked a better venue than Tanglewood for our September wedding! Everything was perfect. There were different areas to choose from for our ceremony and the reception area outside looked magical with all the lights. I had my wedding here in October and it is the absolute BEST! The venue owner is so personable and easy going. The venue is absolutely beautiful, especially going into the colder months. When I was picking my venue, I wanted place that felt like home and that’s the best place to describe Tanglewood. You will truly be enamored by the mossy trees and beautiful greens it has to offer. For everything included, it is well worth a visit! I was so blessed to have my wedding here. Everything was in one place and it is perfectly secluded from busy towns. I wish I could give 10 stars! Everything about my day was perfect, I just can’t say that enough! If you’re thinking about having a wedding here, just do it! It’s the best!

Tanglewood was the most beautiful venue for my daughter’s December wedding. Jamie was an absolute delight. Not only did she make the planning easy, but she made sure the weekend went perfectly. Tanglewood felt like home from the moment we arrived at the first visit, and Jamie made us feel like part of her family. The entire weekend was perfect. Tanglewood was the perfect venue. Tanglewood was my first and only venue tour; I knew it would be absolutely perfect for our wedding! Mrs. Jamie LOVES what she does. She takes pride and joy in giving the most to her brides, while also upholding the dignity of their property. She is quick to respond, communicating any needs or details, and also has a great connection with Black Creek Medical in Hartsville for all of your aesthetic needs ;) . Tanglewood has the southern elegance of the low country right in the heart of Lynchburg, SC. The historic brick porches and fountains, gardens, and Spanish moss growing on gorgeous oak trees….. I was in awe. The guests were in awe. The permanent “sail” tent was show stopping with a timeless gold chandelier over hanging the dance floor. I could go on and on… My husband and I will forever hold a special place in our hearts for Tanglewood, as we had the best day of our lives there!

I can’t begin to tell you how beautiful this place is! We had the wedding of our dreams at Tanglewood. We looked at a couple of places before and I knew when I got out the car that this was the venue! We were married in April 2019 so all the flowers were blooming and it was absolutely stunning with the backdrop of the plantation house! I could go on and on about Jamie. She was an absolute pleasure to work with! She will go above and beyond and will do anything you ask with a smile on her face! So pick Tanglewood as your venue! We had the wedding in the front of the house and reception in the back under a tent! I give it 10/10 or 20/10 if I could! We will always hold a special place in our hearts for Tanglewood Plantation and Jamie and her family! 💕

I would highly recommend Tanglewood Plantation for your next wedding or event! It is absolutely stunning. From the beautiful love benches and hanging moss, to the old school house now used for the groomsmen, this plantation offers such a rich history. Not only do I personally love photographing Tanglewood, I also love working with the owners. They are the heart and soul behind this amazing place. They have worked so hard to bring Tanglewood back to its true southern charm and beauty!! This is the best place around!

Tanglewood Plantation is by far the most gorgeous venue within the Pee Dee Area. The owner is more than accomodating to all of your needs. Great for not only weddings but any event.

Tanglewood Plantation is by far the most gorgeous venue within the Pee Dee Area. The owner is more than accomodating to all of your needs. Great for not only weddings but any event.

I had my reception here, and it was a DREAM COME TRUE! Like, seriously. Take a tour here and see for yourself. The grounds are absolutely breathtaking, filled with beautiful magnolias and huge oak trees. Everything is very neat and well groomed. It definitely has a southern, charismatic feel, especially with the barn and big open fields surrounding the house. There are so many great places to take pictures! I had my bridal portraits done here in the early evening and was very pleased with the scenic views. The sunset here is gorgeous, and gave us some pretty cool shots. There is a big kitchen available for the caterer and a porch available for the DJ; both were well pleased with venue. \rThe owners are absolutely wonderful! They are very nice and personable, and also professional and responsible. They were very flexible with our requests, and helped us through much of the planning and preparation. They also allowed us to tour the area and check things out beforehand, helping us plan accordingly \rThe only issue we had was that it was rather hot (summer wedding in late June) but we rented a big tent and had a nice breeze. The big oak trees also provide nice shade. If you’re thinking about doing a summer wedding here, just stock up on some cold drinks, make fans for wedding favors, and you’ll be fine! Couldn’t have asked for a better place to have my reception!!! This place is a true beauty. \r

We had our daughter's wedding reception at Tanglewood and we were very pleased. The owners were very nice and helped us in any way they could. They were very easy to work with and answered our questions in a timely manner. The house and grounds are a true southern charm. The big magnolias and oaks with their Spanish moss captured the beauty of a true southern plantation. Words cannot describe it. You need to see it yourself. The caterer was very pleased with the kitchen and work area. We rented a horse and carriage which provided a breathtaking entrance for the couple. We highly recommend Tanglewood. Jim and Peggy

Jamie Curley Dyce (Owner) I fell in love with Tanglewood Plantation from the moment I stepped foot onto the property. We have enjoyed every moment of restoring it, breathing life back into it, and sharing it with select brides for the most wonderful day of their lives!I'm the mother of four incredible children and have just celebrated my own 16 year wedding anniversary. I got married in Charleston, South Carolina and have tried to bring every bit of that city's gracious hospitality to Tanglewood Plantation.
