Ben Kercheval(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-04-2021 My wife and I were so happy with our reception at the TFWC Mansion! Even though we chose to downsize our guest list to have a micro wedding (thanks, COVID), the guests we did have, 25 in all, filled up the spaces nicely. It was the best day of our lives and everything was exactly how we imagined it would be. A some things we particularly enjoyed/noticed:1. The space is so grand and regal, it looks great regardless of your guest count. We received so many compliments about how classy and beautiful the mansion was. The best part is because of how classic it looks, it doesn't need a ton of extra decoration. The building speaks for itself. It is great for photos, too. My wife's bridal portraits look incredible. 2. The parlor areas are perfect for cocktail hour and of course the ballroom was a hit. We put our DJ on the ballroom stage and worked well for what we needed. Our catering was on the other side of the room and the bar was in a little room off the ballroom. 3. One silver lining of COVID, I think the mansion used PPP money to update the furniture and build out the bridal suite. We loved the building when we viewed it in early 2020, but we did notice it looked a little lived in. The new furniture spruced it up a lot. 4. For Austin prices, we felt the mansion was pretty affordable. There aren't many places we found that were cheaper and we scoured a lot. But there definitely were several places a lot pricier. 5. Mari was always really nice and available for whenever we needed to swing by with vendors. Everyone and their aunt seems to want and an outdoors hill country wedding. That's fine, but we really enjoyed the timeless elegance of the mansion. It's close to downtown so, God willing, when normal times return, after parties are just 10 minutes away. The Mansion was the best decision we made for our wedding! They hosted us and our vendors for several walkthroughs to help us fully envision everything we wanted. It's also really nice that most of the venue is already setup with beautiful antique furniture, which really relieved so much stress around setting up our wedding. The staff, facilities, and the fact that they actually have parking made the entire planning process go very smoothly. We’re looking forward to coming back for our future anniversaries! Kaylee Silcocks(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-04-2022 This is a beautiful venue but we are beyond disappointed. To say they ruined our reception is an understatement. I have been holding off on writing this review because of how devastated and upset I am. The contract states that there would be someone to let us in the building for the event but on the day there was no one there. We were stuck outside while the event coordinator took over an hour to come let us in. Instead of having 2 and a half ours to set up and get ready, we only had less than an hour and a half. We were late to enter our reception and our guest were left waiting and bored. We had the venue booked for over a year and it was completely ruined due to their incompetence. We were promised a refund but still have yet to receive any news on how this has been handled. Just overall incredibly disappointed and sad. Reviewed on 24-05-2022
Adriana Martinez(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-05-2022 There were few venues 10 minutes from Downtown Austin that could house 200+ guests (we ended up at 245) and The Mansion was by FAR the most affordable (5000 for 8 hrs and 550 for every 4 hrs thereafter) and by far the most unique, timeless, elegant, classy and sophisticated. Caitlin Carter(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-01-2020 I worked at this venue once when I was 16, and at that moment I decided that I would have my wedding reception there. A beautiful ballroom, regal staircase, and so many rooms for entertainment sealed the deal in my mind. When we got engaged, the Mansion was one of the first places we looked, and we decided quickly that it was absolutely worth every penny. I loved that I could bring in literally any vendors that I wanted (bar and caterer had to be insured/TABC, but no biggie) and didn't have to pick from a preferred list, though options were shared if we did not know where to start (helpful!). The day of the wedding, I genuinely can't think of a single thing that didn't go as planned with the venue; having an on-site person for our reception plus having Mari on call as well eased my mind greatly. We rented the tables and chairs through the venue as well, and they were all set up and ready to go - we had seating for 290 (some on the stage) and there was plenty of room, plus space for us to still have a dance floor without having to take down tables. I did not have a coordinator, so my family and I directly interacted with their on-site coordinator Mari many times in the year before our big day. She is an absolute delight - timely in her responses, constantly finding quick and wonderful solutions to the things that came up in the planning process, creating a floor plan and sharing many wonderful ideas were just a few of the things that made us so glad to be at the Mansion and teamed up with Mari. Not only was the courtyard beautiful for an outdoor ceremony and the ballroom breathtaking for the reception, but Mari, the manager, was so great to work with! It's a historic building with southern charms and so many of my guests commented on how beautiful and unique the venue was. Not only that but they allow outside catering so I was able to have New Fortune Restaurant cater an 8 course asian banquet and had an open bar for a fraction of what I would've paid elsewhere. Another great thing about the Fed is that it's in downtown Austin making if convenient for guests since it's only a 5 minute uber ride from their hotels instead of an hour bus ride to Dripping Springs. Judy Kostura(parent)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-04-2019 Our daughter and son-in-law selected The Mansion for their April 2019 wedding, and everything was perfect. The staff was responsive and flexible. The courtyard was perfect for an outdoor wedding, and the ballroom was a beautiful back up plan. Despite rain and high winds in the morning, the afternoon cleared and the staff had 110 chairs in place well before we arrived at 3pm. They whisked chairs into the ballroom for dinner without interfering with photo-taking or disturbing guests. The mansion layout allowed for cocktails and appetizers in the front; dinner and dancing in the ballroom; smaller but beautiful rooms for quiet conversations; a stairwell for group photos... and plenty of room for the bride and groom to get ready with their attendants. Mari was a great resource throughout the planning process, reduced our stress level, and allowed us to simply enjoy the most important day of our daughter's life. The parking was offsite by a couple blocks, but the small hike was inconsequential compared to the long drive in heavy traffic required for many Austin area venues. So many guests said it was the best wedding they've ever been to, and I know a big part of that was the venue. The space is beautiful and functional. There's plenty of space to accommodate a big group, but the layout doesn't feel cavernous for smaller crowds. We had 160 people and it felt great in the space. Our biggest priority was finding a venue that was all indoors so we wouldn't have to worry about Austin's unpredictable weather. We're so glad we did because it was 83 degrees for our February wedding, but our guests (and us!) were all perfectly comfortable. The classic building and decor requires little decoration, but still felt contemporary. This really saved us from high rental costs for furniture or additional floral. Most of all, Mari and her team are SO easy to work with. Everyone is always responsive and thoughtful, and accommodated multiple site visits and periodic questions. We finally came across the TFWC mansion and from the instant we walked in the front doors, we knew we had found our place. The building is truly stunning and has so much charm and character. \r\rWe worked with Mari who is so sweet and knowledgeable.
