Located in Norcross, GA, 173 Carlyle House is a beautiful turn-of-the-century mansion. With elegant, spacious rooms and two acres of perfectly manicured grounds, it makes a perfect wedding venue. Situated in the heart of the historic downtown Norcross area, 173 Carlyle House is a family-owned venue. The venue has hosted countless weddings and other events, including engagement parties, baby showers, and graduation parties, and is the winner of multiple awards. Their team is passionate about weddings, and is committed to providing the best possible experience for each couple and their guests. 173 Carlyle House can host both ceremonies and receptions with up to 500 guests, with indoor and outdoor capabilities. There is a variety of spaces for couples to choose from. Outdoor ceremonies can be held on the terrace, with its beautiful arbor, or on the historic steps of the front porch. Indoor ceremonies can be held in the spacious grand ballroom, which features stunning chandeliers. The terrace and ballroom can also host receptions. A venue coordinator will be available to help you throughout the planning process, providing vendor recommendations and ensuring everything runs smoothly on the day. The venueâs award-winning chef can take care of the cuisine, offering a customizable menu that couples can tailor to their liking. All food and beverages will be freshly prepared onsite. Dinner can be served as a traditional seated dinner, family-style, or in the form of food stations. Cocktail hour can also be provided. 173 Carlyle House pride themselves on hosting warm, intimate receptions regardless of the size or scale of the event. The 173 Carlyle House is an outstanding venue! The outdoor areas were fantastic, the food delicious, and the workers very friendly. Gerise was very helpful and easy to work with. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this venue to others.

173 Carlyle House was the perfect all in one venue. From the outdoor venue for the ceremony, the old house for drinks and appetizers and the grand room for the party. We loved every moment. They were so easy to work with and the staff was very professional. We couldnt have been happier with the venue and service. The food was excellent all around and catered to our desire to have a Czech dish too! That was special. Wonderful!

173 Carlyle House was the perfect all in one venue. From the outdoor venue for the ceremony, the old house for drinks and appetizers and the grand room for the party. We loved every moment. They were so easy to work with and the staff was very professional. We couldnt have been happier with the venue and service. The food was excellent all around and catered to our desire to have a Czech dish too! That was special. Wonderful!

The Carlyle House was more than amazing!!! From the very beginning, Gerise had amazing communication. Anytime I called or emailed she gave a prompt response. Anytime I needed to come and see the venue, or bring someone to measure an area, they were always willing to help. The Carlyle house was also extremely affordable compared to other venues in the Atlanta area. Overall, you canât beat the price for the location, and space. The food was amazing as well. All of our guests complimented the food. The bridal suite was beautiful and spacious. Perfect for a photo session!Overall, we loved this venue and I highly recommend.

I cannot say enough good things about our experience here. We only had about 2 months to prepare a wedding reception and Carlyle House managed to get us on the schedule, worked with us to get exactly what we needed, and was unbelievably helpful throughout the whole process. The venue is gorgeous, the food was great, the pricing was completely reasonable, and the people were kind, attentive, and helpful. Our reception was perfect and went off without a hitch. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

We would recommend the Carlyle House to any Atlanta-based couple! Gerise was great to work with, the venue was beautiful, and everything was reasonably priced. Our guests had a great time and kept commenting on how good the food was!

Aesthetically, nice venue but I was charged a different price for the beverage package, from what I was proposed upon signing the agreement. Long story short, when brought to Gerise, the venueâs manager, attention, her response was sorry thereâs nothing she can do about it, but we are crediting you back for the unused alcohol. This was not a favor to me as that was part of the agreement. The venue manager also tried to justify by stating, she gave us extra time to set up before and the day of, but she was the one pushing us to stay longer and set-up after rehearsal so that her or staff would not have to partake in the set-up; although it was part of their responsibility, since I paid a $500 coordinator fee. In addition, I opt for the sit-down dinner, and I was told around February that my guests had to pre-select their meals; months after my invitations were already sent out. It seemed deceitful to be informed of this, 3 months before my wedding. Not to mention her condescending manner and bleak attitude. It has taken so much to muster the courage to write this review, as it saddens me every time when I think about how things panned out with The Carlyle House.

Gerise is incredibly helpful through the whole process of planning and day-of support and I couldnât have made it happen without her! I canât recommend this place enough. 10/10.

If you want the coziest most beautiful venue this is the place for you! Not only is the venue gorgeous but the people there are one of the kind. Gerise our coordinator was so knowledgeable and sweet! So weâre all the bartenders, bakers etc. I cannot recommend them enough!

Emilie and Jeremy - WeddingApril 2, 2022173 Carlyle HouseWe hosted our daughter's wedding on April 2nd at 173 Carlyle House and wanted to share the wonderful experience we had !Stepping onto the beautiful grounds, canopied by 100 year old Magnolia trees, you know immediately you are in for something special! The yellow and white cottage with wrap around porch opens into a sparkling, chandelier filled Ballroom. Glistening hardwood floors through out.Mouth watering aromas wafted out of the culinary state of the art kitchen. Award winning chef William Janousek was preparing the day's event menu on the morning we visited. This is one of the finest event destinations we found in the Atlanta area. And believe me- we looked! They feature multiple options for indoor, outdoor, intimate or large gatherings.Gerise Janousek met with us multiple times to help guide us as we planned the Wedding. She is knowledgeable and has years of experience in event planning. This has resulted in a great and long standing reputation for excellence. Some pluses that checked the box for us :The 173 Carlyle House provides all tables, chiavari dining chairs, linens, dishes, flatware, bar & glassware, dining glassware and staff. The menu is custom so Emilie and Jeremy were able to select the items they wanted and then we selected wine and beer for the Menu . We loved that we were allowed to bring our own Liquors and hard spirits in for the bar! Emilie and Jeremy were married in the ballroom, then moved to the cottage and lawn for cocktails, the ballroom was set for dinner and dancing next. Dinner was wonderful, the staff perfectly attentive. The bride and groom looked so happy and beautiful as they danced the first dance under the crystal chandeliers. The dance floor filled up and everyone had an incredible fun night! Thank you Gerise and the team at 173 Carlyle House for making this Wedding everything Emilie and Jeremy dreamed of!

We had our wedding ceremony at The 173 Carlyle House on April 23, 2022 and it was simply amazing. Gerise was so helpful from the first day we met her an we instantly knew that we wanted to work with her and the team at that moment. My guests really enjoyed the layout of the venue, cocktail hour, food & service. I was so impressed with how friendly the staff were, they even helped my groomsmen fix our bowtie situation we were having prior to the ceremony lol. I'm appreciative of the great time we had at this venue, and I will definitely recommend this place to family and friends.

I was very impressed by the way Gerise, (the event specialist) and the staff worked to expedite the wedding. I can't say enough about how AMAZING this venue was! From start to finish our experience was TOP-NOTCH. Gerise was helpful, professional, and just all-around awesome! She guided us every step of the way, made sure we had all of our questions answered and handled the big day with precision and perfection! The venue itself is GORGEOUS. It was the perfect space for our reception and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. The prices are the BEST around! The venue is privately owned and it shows in their pride in their work and the employees. The food was actually AMAZING. All of our guests were so happy and left with full bellies! We loved the flexibility of being able to supply our own liquor for the bar, bringing in our own DJ and photographer. We chose to get our cake from the venue and we LOVED it! All around amazing experience! I am sad it is over and will try to find another event in the future to utilize this space and service because it was just that great! Thank you so much Janouseks and 173 Carlyle House!!!

My husband and I threw our baby shower (Indian/American fusion) at the Carlyle House this past weekend (August 2021). What an amazing experience! The staff are super helpful and friendly. The venue is gorgeous and meets all the needs for a successful event (kitchen, bar, seating, indoor/outdoor space, etc.). While our event was not technically a wedding, this would be the perfect place to hold one based on our experience with our event. We had room for a buffet, DJ, cake table, guest tables (seating 100+), bar, outside photo booth, and large backdrop decorations. Highly recommend! Thanks Carlyle House!

This is an Affordable and Attractive venue with an Attentive coordinator!While you may find other venues that are lovely they will all be missing the \"Gerise\" factor! - She was upfront and honest on pricing. - She took our needs for a totally gluten and dairy free menu VERY seriously. - She answered emails and phone calls promptly and allowed multiple visits to the venue to visualize and try out items in the space. - Other vendors raved about her and the culture of the venue as well.We had around 170 guest. We filled up the ballroom but with the space of the house and the beautiful yard and patio people had plenty of places to mingle and visit.173 Carlyle is a great value and much of that value is because of Gerise! It was great to know we could depend on her.

We had a wonderful wedding weekend at 173 Carlyle House! The wedding ceremony was held at Perimeter Church, but the rehearsal dinner and welcome party and the wedding reception were all at the lovely 173 Carlyle House. Everything went off wonderfully! The grounds were beautiful and the food delicious. Gerise and her staff are great to work with and take care of the details so that you can enjoy your guests. My son is celiac and has other dietary restrictions and Gerise and staff went the extra mile to provide a safe and delicious food experience for him and all of the guests!! As the parents of the groom, we hosted a welcome party for all out of town guests following the rehearsal dinner. Everyone had such a good time!! I would not have changed a thing about the evening. It was lovely in every way!

We had our wedding reception at The 173 Carlyle House on March 27, 2021. Words cannot describe how absolutely AMAZING everything was! Working with Gerise was a breeze and she made everything so easy for us. I don't think most wedding food is good, but the food was unbelievable- we are still getting compliments on how good the food was! The bartenders were great and handled our party of 225 no problem! The bourbon bar was a HUGE hit. Everything at The 173 Carlyle House was so immaculately clean and beautiful. Everything was better than we ever could've imagined. The location was perfect for taking pictures in Downtown Norcross and Lillian Webb Park. We have gotten so many compliments on how beautiful the venue was, the staff, and the food. We will never forget how unbelievable March 27, 2021 was thanks to The 173 Carlyle House! We will recommend The 173 Carlyle House to everyone!

My daughter's wedding at the Carlyle House was absolutely a dream come true. We owe this to Gerise. She is the sweetest, most caring person you will ever meet. The Carlyle House was incredible for our November wedding! The setting was exactly what I had envisioned for my wedding with the charm of the Old House and the beautiful front porch. We had our ceremony outside and I've been getting so many comments on how beautiful it was with the Fall leaves in the background. Gerise was there throughout the months leading up to answer any questions we had and provide us with the best advice. She was extremely helpful in making sure everything was set up just how we wanted it for the day of. The food was absolutely amazing; our guests raved about it (especially the southern grits bar). It was so convenient that everything was made right in house, so we never needed to worry about finding a caterer. Same with the cake, which my husband and I are still talking about. I could not recommend the 173 Carlyle House enough to anyone looking for a beautiful venue filled with classic charm!

Kateâs WeddingMy daughter married in 2007 to a nice guy had a son and was pregnant with their second child when tragedy struck in 2014 and her husband died. She was very lucky and met someone and was married for the second time September 2019. The entire wedding was unique because 6 children participated in the ceremony. The ceremony and reception all were held at the Carlyle House of Norcross. The plans were made, menus selected and ceremony when off without a âhitchâ. The facility which is just south of the historic village of Norcross, the setting is like a plantation on a hill overlooking this beautiful park. The Event hall is large, spacious and well-appointed and the air conditioning âreally worksâ. The ceremony took place with the Bride, Groom, children and attendants dancing down the aisle. The Ceremony concluded and photo taking took place while guest nibbled on amazing hors dâoeuvre and cocktails. You have to have an event here just to try the bacon wrapped stuffed dates with blue cheese. The food was amazing and our guest loved the onsite preparation and quality. I later found out this is a family run organization and it shows. The entire event is managed by Gerise Janousek, the Event Coordinator who keep us on track during the rehearsal and wedding ceremony. Then a great cake cutting and dancing. What a perfect night for the start of my daughterâs Brady Bunch family.The event went off without any issues, people had fun and total focus was on the wedding not details of the wedding. The Carlyle House is excellently managed and is a great value in a wonderful setting convenient to Atlanta.JCvAtlanta

So we decided to change it to inside their ballroom about 3 hours before the ceremony. Gerise was extremely helpful and made sure everything was taken care of without me having to stress about it. All of our guests complimented our food and cake. Everyone had an amazing time. I would definitely recommend the Carlyle House.

Where do I even begin?! Our wedding was absolutely wonderful! I knew from the moment I met Gerise that I could fully trust her and her staff. She made me feel so comfortable and she wasnât trying to upcharge on every little thing like most of the other reception venues. Gerise would allow me to come and see the house whenever I needed too, she answered on emails very promptly, and made sure everything went smoothly on our big day! We had over 250 guest and everyone fit very comfortably even with a 5 piece band and a huge dance floor! We tented the outside terrace which added a lot of character to that area. The house was absolutely stunning the day of the wedding. I would recommend this venue to any bride who wants a âsouthernâ wedding. It was everything I had hoped and dreamed for!

The 173 Carlyle is the very first venue that I found online. While they have many pictures you canât appreciate how big and lovely this venue is. We knew as soon as we walked into the Carlyle House and met Gerise that we found our place. The facility is Gorgeous and there are many rooms for guests to sit and relax and have drinks and food during the bridal photos. I loved the Bridal suite that allows the Bride and Brides Maids to have a quiet place to freshen up before the Ceremony. The Bride and Groom return to that suite for a few minutes to themselves after the Ceremony. The outdoor terrace provides a wonderful back drop for the ceremony. It rained on our date so we opted to move into the ballroom less than an hour before the wedding. This staff transformed the ballroom into a chapel in 15 minutes. The rain stopped later and we moved outside to the beautiful lit terrace for more photos. Gerise assured me all along the way that everything would be perfect and she was absolutely correct. Itâs clear they are experts at this. Chef Janousek and his staff provided an amazing assortment of dishes. The food was awesome! The Bride and Groom and our guests were delighted. I am so happy we chose the Carlyle House. Gerise and her staff are true professionals who operate with excellence and the pricing was surprisingly affordable. I would highly recommend The 173 Carlyle House. Thank you so much!!

The 173 Carlyle is the very first venue that I found online. While they have many pictures you canât appreciate how big and lovely this venue is. The rain stopped later and we moved outside to the beautiful lit terrace for more photos. Gerise assured me all along the way that everything would be perfect and she was absolutely correct. Itâs clear they are experts at this. Chef Janousek and his staff provided an amazing assortment of dishes. The food was awesome! The Bride and Groom and our guests were delighted. I am so happy we chose the Carlyle House. Gerise and her staff are true professionals who operate with excellence and the pricing was surprisingly affordable. We had our wedding at the Carlyle House. I was not satisfied with the customer service that we received or lack there of. Gerise asked me that day of rehearsal if I had a coordinator to decorate the hall. I told her no, and Iâm out orevious conversations she explained to me that she would do it and all I had to do was label every container with the contents and where to put everything. Fast forward to my wedding day: I receive a phone call from my mother who went to the venue to make sure everything was done correctly. My mother explained to me that the boxes and containers that we brought to the venue had not been touched and they were still laying at the front door. As a bride, I should not have to worry if my decorations and the venue is going to be setup for my wedding. Gerise also disappeared in the middle of my reception and couldnât be found for the rest of the night. Extremely I satisfied with the way we were treated and the lack of customer service on their end.

We wanted our daughter to have the fairytale wedding she dreamed of. Fortunately, we decided to have the wedding and the reception at the 173 Carlyle House in historic Norcross and we are very happy to say that everything went perfectly! The wedding ceremony was held on the Carlyle Houseâs beautiful, outdoor space where there are lots of large gorgeous trees and green space, along with a flat patio area for the wedding guests and the wedding party. The service was so lovely and then we moved indoors to the chandelier filled, beautiful, spacious rooms inside. The bridal room, the dining area, the dance floor, the set-up for the DJâŚeverything has been so well planned out!The service was perfect and always very professional! The food was absolutely delicious and looked as fantastic as it tasted! Chef Janousek prepared a perfect wedding meal and the cakes were perfect and tasted awesome! The quality of the food was outstanding -- everything was prepared perfectly! The food experience was another highlight of using this venue -- it tasted just like a 4-star restaurant and our guests raved about how delicious everything was!We especially want to mention the awesome Event Specialist Gerise Janousek. Gerise was a consummate professional, helping with the plans every step of the way and providing expert advice for everything involving the wedding. Things went so smoothly because of her incredible hard work and professionalism down to the smallest of details! The florist Maria and the DJ that Gerise recommended were awesome too! My husband and I were so relieved that Gerise was there every step of the way to patiently guide us and to make sure our daughterâs dream - a perfect, fairytale wedding came true! We are so happy for the happy couple and we are so happy we can so very highly recommend 173 Carlyle House!

There also were gorgeous places at the venue, downtown, and at the park nearby for our wedding photos and video. Everyone loved the southern food prepared by Chef William Janousek, and the acoustic guitar groom's cake turned out perfect. Gerise, the venue coordinator, assisted us throughout the entire planning process to ensure it was perfect. Because Carlyle House took care of everything for us we were able to relax and enjoy the wedding with our guests with nothing to do! We cannot say thank you to 173 Carlyle House enough for our perfect fairytale wedding!

The Carlyle House was truly wonderful in every possible way. After visiting a few different venues, I walked away from The Carlyle House and cancelled all of my future venue appointments. The Carlyle House and the surrounding grounds are beautiful. Gerise, the venue coordinator, is like \"the cool aunt\" you always wanted. She makes you feel like family. Gerise was quick to respond to my inquiries, inviting and welcoming, attentive to my needs, always gracious with her time, always offering to meet in person, and extremely reassuring. She was truly such a fun blessing- she made the planning and coordinating a seamless and stress free process! The food was INCREDIBLE... seriously, wedding food is never that good. All of my guests were raving about the food, service, and venue spaces! The Carlyle House was also EXTREMELY AFFORDABLE! The Carlyle House made me feel like I was the only bride in the world and were such a joy and comfort to work with!

Stop your search and choose the Carlyle House! My daughter's wedding here was incredible. The venue itself is so beautiful - an old Southern house with beautiful chandeliers and a glassed in room for the ceremony and reception. They also let you customize decorations for the mantlepieces and bookshelves scattered throughout the house, making it really \"your\" wedding and not some mass produced event. The food is great - cooked on site using really fresh ingredients. Our guests complimented us on the good food. And, perhaps most importantly, Gerise, the venue coordinator, was amazing. With her at the helm, there is no need for a high priced wedding consultant. She helped us with all aspects of organizing the wedding, and was incredibly patient and great about answering what felt like hundreds of emails we sent. She also helped us stay within our budget. She directed the ceremony & made sure the wedding and reception ran incredibly smoothly. And, although this is unlikely to happen to anyone else, she helped us pull off a wedding during a weekend ice storm. She was great - even offered to pick up her staff in a four wheel drive vehicle to get them there. The staff all arrived and did a marvelous job during the ice storm - my daughter got the wedding of her dreams, despite the weather! This is a family run business, not a corporate entity, and it shows. You just can't do better than this venue.

We were married at Carlyle House on October 8th and everything about the day was everything we envisioned it to be and so much more! The venue is absolutely stunning. The wrap around porch and rocking chairs are wonderful on fall days for guests to sit back relax and enjoy cocktails. When you walk into this Victorian style house, you are blown away by all the beautiful chandeliers that are elegantly hanging in all the rooms. The big mantles and fireplaces add a romantic touch. So no matter where your guests are, they are embraced by the warmth and love this house embodies. My favorite room in the house is the ballroom and it is incredible! Two walls of windows line the ballroom so that guest can look out into the beautiful terrace and courtyard. The staff was very accommodating and attentive to all the guests. Gerise is so wonderful to work with. No matter what you need, she will make sure it is taken care of. She makes sure that your wedding day is everything you envisioned it to be, without any of the stress. We were able to relax and enjoy our day. We loved that this place was a one stop shop and could take care of everything for us; food, wedding cake and alcohol. The food was delicious and all of the guests raved about it. Our favorite was their shrimp and grits....which are to die for. Basically this place has it all and we are so thankful we selected The Carlyle House as our wedding venue!

Absolutely in love with our venue choice for our wedding. We couldn't have picked a better place. The layout of the venue is absolutely perfect for a ceremony, cocktail hour, & reception to be held on the same property, and can still be in 3 separate areas of the venue to make a perfect flow for your entire evening! Gerise & the staff were incredible & very accommodating to anything we needed. Parking was plentiful, the space for our large wedding was more than enough, & the food was excellent! There's no strict rules or hidden stipulations like some of those \"wedding factory\" type venues. :) I think my sister is actually jealous that she already chose a venue for her wedding because she wanted to have it here! haha!

We are so thankful we found the Carlyle House for David and Marcyâs wedding! The main house is so charming with its wrap around porch outside and several old fireplaces with interesting mantels inside in the various rooms. Stunning European chandeliers and fixtures hang throughout the facility. The banquet hall is beautiful with its huge chandeliers and windows on two walls that look out onto lovely gardens that surround the site. The property lends itself to many photo opportunities.Gerise has years of experience in planning special events and weddings. She is positive, encouraging, relaxed, and quite easy to work with throughout the planning process. She was always available to answer our many questions. With the meal plans we were happy with the variety of menu choices. The bride decided on several appetizers (the Baked Brie en Croute is awesome!) followed by an Italian feast! We were so pleased to serve our guests such a delicious meal.We highly recommend the Carlyle House!

We opted for a southern menu including a delicious biscuit bar and they were so accommodating to incorporate our menu. We were also able to bring in some of our own personal treasure to decorate the four mantels and a bookcase in the old house. Many guests enjoyed the rocking chairs and the cocktail tables set up on the porch, especially during the cocktail hour. The overall atmosphere was exactly what my daughter had described as her vision for her wedding. But those are the basics. What really made the experience so enjoyable in the planning aspect was the event coordinator, Gerise Janousek. She was so calm, so easy going, so quick to respond to any (and all!) questions, and just so nice and accommodating to our needs AND wants. It is with great pleasure and wonderful memories that I highly recommend 173 Carlyle House!

The Carlyle House is an absolutely beautiful venue. We couldn't have been more pleased overall with the reception! The food is excellent! Our only disappointment was that the wedding cake nor the groom's cake (a double layer chocolate chip cookie cake) tasted near as good as the cakes at the tasting we went to! We had 13 tables/10 people each (a few had 11) in the ballroom with the buffet in the main house. Would not have wanted to have any more tables than that.

The whole 13 months of my planning, I really enjoyed working with her and trusted her throughout the process. The day of my wedding- everything went pretty smoothly and Gerise really knows how to handle a large crowd and everything else. The few things were forgotten here and there, but that happens. The only thing I would say that we disliked was after Gerise left for the evening, the owner and the staff were a little pushy on getting us out BEFORE our time was up at 10PM. At 9:30PM while people were still dancing and the DJ was still playing, the staff was already breaking down the tables and moving the decorations, which somewhat fizzled out the party. My MIL mentioned it to them, and they apologized, but continued to clean. That is my ONLY complaint!! This venue is pretty great!

My new husband and I could not be happier with our choice of The Carlyle House for our wedding reception. It was an elegant and romantic venue! The historic portion of the home had mantels on which we could display family pictures, adding a very personal touch. There was a sideboard perfect for our candy bar â a treat which thrilled our guests. But the candy bar was second to the delicious variety of dishes prepared by Chef which had our guests raving for days after. The presentation was attractive and the service was attentive.\rBut even more wonderful than the mouth-watering food and enchanting venue, is Gerise, the angelic event specialist! As with all events, we hit a few âwrinklesâ. One of our cakes was too moist and yummy to support the cake topper we wanted and started sliding apart. Gerise calmly informed me of the situation and presented a game plan. So, we were able to put it behind us and focus on our friends. Little did I know that the cake didnât recover and Gerise, Chef and the marvelous staff modified the plan. Guests were none the wiser and were still able to enjoy slices of the delicious cake. The other potential problem was a miscommunication with our DJ. Gerise offered a solution which was absolutely perfect and, again, our guests were not aware of the misstep. \rWhen trying to create a celebratory experience for our friends, we not only chose the most wonderful venue and scrumptious food, but we were very blessed to have Gerise and her service team to guide us through the bumps of the evening. We had our ceremony and our reception at 173 Carlyle House. We wanted somewhere that could pretty much do everything in house, and they definitely delivered. Gerise was great and really catered to our needs. The food was delicious, and they really came through with my blue velvet wedding cake. The staff kind of made some of my other vendors feel rushed, though. They told my photo booth person to start breaking down 45 minutes before the end of our reception. But overall, I was very pleased.

As a two-time client for the Carlyle House, it gives me great joy to tell you what an awesome job they did for the second time! My mother's 60th Birthday Party went off without a hitch! I always regretted that because I really thought they made my day special. But now I get to tell you what I should have before. Gerise is an amazing event coordinator. She is more than helpful with menu & decor ideas, tips on how to save money, and she works hard to make sure your vision comes to life! Her responsiveness to my changes and questions made planning both my wedding and my mom's birthday party so much easier. We kinda went in blindly with Carlyle House for our wedding. And by blindly I mean - we didn't have a chance to taste the food beforehand, we liked what we saw on the tour but it wasn't set up for a wedding, rather a holiday party, and at the venue-booking stage of the planning I had absolutely NO CLUE how wedding crazy I would become in the following 6 months of planning. \r\rYou see, I'd planned to have a simple wedding. I didn't care about all of the frills (at first). I just wanted good food, good drinks and the people we care most about in attendance. And Carlyle House made everything easy. They could customize my linens, we had a great choice of food and they were willing to let me bring in my own cupcakes. Add all that to the super cute old house that has an add-on ballroom and I was sold at first glance. \r\rGerise - the on-site planner - was awesome. I never felt like she wanted to kill me after I would send her one of hundreds of emails with questions as I worked my way into becoming a minor bridezilla. She choreographed the rehearsal perfectly and was even better on our wedding day. She made me not regret hiring a wedding planner because she seriously did it all for us. \r\rIn the end, I did turn into the bride I never dreamed I would be - personalized aisle runner, flowers I never wanted, a candy buffet and cute little signs I thought I could DIY and ended up hiring out. And even though my then-fiancĂŠ made the mistake of actually calling me BrideZilla a few times (he obviously has never seen the show with the REAL bridezillas), our wedding was absolutely PERFECT. Even my always-disapproving-of-everything mother-in-law loved it. And that's more than any praise I can give anything in this world. \r\rThe food was great - better than we expected. The drinks were great. The night was great.

Gerise made everything so easy for us. We were planning our wedding from out-of-state and she was always helpful and friendly via email and phone! She was incredibly accommodating as well - she let us pick up food to sample when we were in GA one weekend since we couldn't make it for the scheduled tasting weekend. She was very flexible and easy going throughout the whole process while keeping everything organized. Overall the food was great, the venue is beautiful, and the value is insane!!! You absolutely cannot beat the cost of everything you get with this venue. We are very pleased!

The event went off seamlessly -- and the food they provided was exactly as we had tasted prior to the wedding...Excellent. Guests raved about both the food and the cakes.\r\rThe warmth and home like environment of the Carlyle House makes an event there more intimate and special than at a hotel and in a large ballroom. We were able to personalize both the inside and the outside of the venue with our own things which added a friendly feeling to both the cocktail hour and the reception itself. It was really nice to have the food, cake and venue with just one vendor, rather than coordinate between a caterer, a bakery and a venue and try to keep everyone informed and on the same page. \r\rWe actually held our rehearsal dinner here the night before the reception, and the expansive menu variety allowed us to have a completely different vibe for each evening! \r\rThe food was superb- we got so many compliments on the dinner as well as the gorgeous cake! The 173 Carlyle House was an amazing venue! The old southern charm makes decorating easy (for the low-maintenance bride), and the indoor/outdoor option really makes planning easy with the fickle Georgia weather. Gerise is such a helpful coordinator, and she even has a room set up just for the bride and groom to make sure you get a moment to catch your breath and eat before the reception gets in full swing. Speaking of the food, everything is made on site (even down to the salad dressings) and it is all amazing! I am a huge foodie, and I loved everything we tried. The hardest part of planning was choosing what to leave off the menu. They can make any cake design you could want (within reason), and there are TONS of flavors to choose from. But the pound cake with butter cream is divine! I could not have imagined a better place to have my reception, and they were so patriotic that they gave my active-duty husband and I a military discount which was so generous! They deserve every reward they have received and more!

Gerise, the wedding coordinator, was SO great to work with and was always very responsive and flexible throughout the whole planning process.
